Sara is a pretty cool girl, she really takes care of her guests and sets a very welcoming atmosphere and is extremely beautiful. I come back just to see Sara, she makes this good place great. And you know I mean it, because I am a homosexual and not trying to sleep with her.

Staff are very friendly and kind. Ive had the traditional breakfast and French toast, both very good.

We went on Halloween and our server was drunk and taking shots with tables. She was running around barefoot and when we asked for our bill she left us waiting for 45 minutes. Food was good though

Not many food options that intrigued me but the drinks were good. Tap beer was fresh and alive and atmosphere was chill. Very good music choice, kudos to the DJ. Or whoevers iphone was connected. Id really like to give this place a 3 and a half or a 4 minus.

My go to neighborhood bar. One of those rare places in the hood that has really good vegetarian. Thier patio in the summer is quite upbeat and fun to hang out at. Def stays on my list of go-to, comfort places :)

Fox is by far our most favourite pub in Bloor West Village. We ve been going there at least once a week for the last 2 years. The reason is much better than average pub food and very friendly personnel. We know every server there by name. Every time we go there Sam, the hostess, greets us with a genuine smile on her face and gives us a hug. She has such an unbelievably radiant and warm personality that we would go back there over and over again just to see her smile. Last Wednesday we were absolutely delighted to see her in a new role as a waitress for the first time ever and she was serving us .. We are very happy that the management gave her that chance because with this kind of enchanting personality and exceptionally warm approach to customers she will become an absolutely awesome waitress!

We stopped in for a few drinks after work, and had a great time. Sam is one of the better waitresses in the west end, if not the city! Highly recommend!

My first time there, great atmosphere friendly staff good food looking forward to trying the brunch.

I wanted to watch football match between Spain and England. So I came to this place to make a reservation for Sunday at 3 pm. I provided with all necessary information, the hostess told me to call them on Sunday an hour before my reservation to make sure that theyd save one table for us. I did as they asked next day, but the lady on the phone told me they dont have any space, even though I made a reservation... so disappointed in this poor service.

I recently visited Fox and John s with my boys on a Saturday night, and I must say, our experience was truly exceptional, thanks to Jessica. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Jessica s attentiveness and friendly demeanor stood out immediately. Despite the bustling atmosphere, she never missed a beat, ensuring our every need was met promptly and with genuine care. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive; she patiently answered all our questions and made excellent recommendations that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. What impressed me most was Jessica s ability to connect with my boys. She engaged them in conversation, made them laugh, and even offered a few fun tips about the dishes they were curious about. This personal touch transformed our dining experience into something memorable and delightful. I had an awesome time at this pub! Shout out to Jess for being an amazing server super friendly and on top of everything. The vibe was super chill, and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the steak or salmon dish, and the bruschetta was fantastic. Jesss attention to detail and great service made the night even better. Definitely coming back.

No complaints, nice pub style sports bar with decent food. Staff were lovely and we were able to have a nice conversation in a booth once they changed the TV setting to a fireplace mode.

The Fox and John is a great pub with usually good food and service. Tonight though I was extremely disappointed by the chicken curry. I have never tasted such a poor quality curry flavour with little to no chicken with only potatoes and tomatoes. This is a simple dish that was horribly ruined.

Want to post a glowing review for Fox & John s, as they really went above and beyond for us recently. We had ordered dinner from them through a delivery service and the driver forgot soups that we d ordered - a family member has a medical issue and is unable to tolerate solid food and then had no dinner. The delivery service reimbursed us, however, the restaurant made fresh soups and brought them to us, free of charge. Am amazed and uplifted that they were so generous and kind. Plus their food is delicious!! Thank you so much Fox & John s.

A little pricy but not bad

Ordered fish and chips through UberEats. Requested tartar sauce be substituted with malt vinegar packets. The malt vinegar I received was in an unsealed container and contained dead flies and what appeared to be mold. Due to the vinegar being dark, I didnt notice until I had nearly emptied the container onto my meal, ruining all of it. I wont be eating from here again.

My very first experience at Fox and Johns wasnt a positive one. I left an honest review leading to the manager inviting me back to give Fox and Johns another try. My second visit was worthy of five stars (just taking one star off since the first visit did happen). Foss is an amazing waitress! She really went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. The food is of pretty high quality for pub food standards, and the owner told me the pub is a family-owned business. If you want to support a family business with good food and a great atmosphere, go here and make sure Foss is your waitress!!!! Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten-free burger buns and make changes to your food if necessary.

My wife organized a dinner event with an old dear couple of ours. We felt right at home. GREAT TIME. I had the THAI COCONUT RED CURRY BOWL with bonus grilled chicken. I am a fan of all things curry, but this experience was magnificent. I wish to describe it as thoughtful. Not too much and not too little. Will HAVE TO GO BACK SOON for more curry. I might have to try FOX & JOHNS CHICKEN CURRY, but I will have my consultants assist me with that kind of decision making. Curry tends to leave me quite speechless. I felt I kept up with the conversation. Historically, I become non-verbal after taking down a curry. One kitchen staff member could see I was savouring the experience. All the other plates were long and gone. I was 94.6% finished. This good man knew what was going on. We barely needed to share eye contact. Gordon wasnt done yet. The good man let me finish unabated. This man and I had a great debrief afterwards when we were departing. I plugged in a huge tip percentage. All in all, the bill was still very reasonable. Adorable restaurant.

My husband and I have been coming here regularly for about a year and a half and no matter what we order, the food and the service is always great. A few of the servers recognize us now and even know our drink orders. It s a comfortable and relaxing place at any time of day. We are so glad it s in the neighbourhood. It s the best pub on the street by far.

As a professional DJ & Event organizer, have been to many venues over the years. I decided to have a Birthday Party catered to over 30 + people which Fox and John and its staff went ABOVE and beyond to serve our guests at this location. The staff, management, and venue was absolutely exceptional to serve our needs for this luxurious occasion. Special shoutouts to Pira and especially Jessica for carrying the night on her shoulder! Jessica especially continued to show so much support throughout the night to keep such a large crowd happy and upbeat. I would absolutely recommend anyone to consider this location for any kind of special treatment & for amazing food and drinks!! Thank you !!

Called about a week ago to book a reservation for the Super Bowl, the hostess on the phone said everything was good. We showed up and they did not have our table written down, and they also made it out to be my fault, and made me prove that I did have a reservation, which I did. The manager was rude and unhelpful, as if we had made a mistake and not them.

Service was fantastic, food was also incredible. Little pricey but you definitely get your moneys worth. I went with 2 other people and we all had food to take home after. Highly recommend

Two weeks ago, I went to Fox on John for live DJ night. The server Jessica was fabulous. Gave my table recommendations for both food and drink. She followed up a few times ensuring we were have a great time. Atmosphere, food and service is fabulous at this place. Definitely will be going back!

Came here for a boys night to catch the game and some food. And this place did not disappoint. Plenty of TVs to go around. The wings were spicy and hot and came in a timely manner. The Service - Jess was our server - was awesome. Brought an amazing vibe and laughs to our table. She was very engaging and recommended on coming on nights when there is a DJ - will definitely be coming back with guys (and gals)!!

Had the pleasure of visiting fox & johns last Friday night, after a few recommendations, first time visiting the place yes the music was alittle on the loud side but then again so was the street and I get that it s the Toronto vibe being a vibrant city. Anyhow the food was simply amazing and the stag was extra courteous, our server Jessica was an absolute charm, she gave me and my wife an insight into the city about were the vibrant areas are and gave us a warm welcome to the place, the place had a fun atmosphere, the food was absolutely fantastic, it was a busy night and we were surprised how fast the service was, the drinks were amazing as per my wife I just like my rye and that s failsafe hahah, but what really set the place apart was the staff, everyone was welcoming and extra helpful but Jessica s service level was above par, extra courteous, always kept an eye as she was passing by to see if we needed anything and extra helpful for anything we asked for. So thank you Jessica and Fox &Johns, your team surely made our night memorable and the service was phenomenal. I m not one to comment reviews and am recently a new reviewer and I guess this is the new social norm so this place surely deserves the credit and we will definitely be coming back. Reason for me posting is because we just visited a different restaurant tonight and just had a really awful experience and I don t like posting negative reviews but only give credit where credit is deserved and Fox & Johns team definitely deserves the credit and just made us think about going back to Fox & Johns again.

come, yul, bought 2 beers for 20 dollars, sat and waited for 40 minutes until the girl came up with an order, but some kind of whispering, and she didn t want to come, it s clear that they don t have a good relationship with Ukrainians, then the bartender came out, looked and left, and I sat for another 10 minutes waiting to place an order, honestly I ll tell you, I ve never seen such garbage anywhere else that the service staff would ignore the person who pays for their work. Sorry, maybe some waitress didn t like me, but I don t live with her what she likes, she works for herself, earning money in this way, but ignoring what I called, and she simply walked past, is already too much . I believe that such employees need to be fired if they treat people who come to them to eat and even for money

Good atmosphere

A friend and I had a couple of burgers and a beer here yesterday, and it was a terrible experience overall. We were told all the seats on the patio were reserved, but they had some in the window. That was fine. It took some time for someone to take a drink order, and more time to get it. Whatever, they re busy, so ok. A waitress finally showed up to take our food order. I didn t time it, but our 2 burgers felt like a half hour. I started to notice people leaving with takeout. How long did they wait? I also noticed that only 25% of the patio was occupied. The fact is there weren t that many people there, and most we re watching sports with a drink. They gave us a free beer when the plates finally arrived, which was the least they could do. The fact is this place is staffed by children, who don t have a clue about restaurant service. It s a pub, so I don t expect fine dining, but when you can t get their attention because all the 20 something staff are chatting amongst themselves, it s a problem. It s too bad, because it s a nice neighbourhood spot with a patio. Conclusion: don t bother going. Or go for a drink, and don t be in a hurry.

Love this place , always a good experience with friends family and kids ...service is amazing and fast even though the pub is packed with people ! ...kids dont even wait they put their order in first ..and the servers are super friendly and accommodating! The service is ABSOLUTELY amazing... We just went there for drinks and a little bite to eat but I will go back for sure! I will post pictures next time I returned a second time definitely my place to hangout this summer.The service is Really Really great I made sure to leave a great tip!!! I really recommend this place ( I dont know the owner by the way I just really love the experience) And its reasonably priced, hard to find in Toronto these days.

I liked the service from most (not all) the staff. The service was quick and amigable. The snack I ordered was plentiful but lacked good flavor. They have a good atmosphere and nice music selection. Overall the experience was good. I do recommend visiting this joint.

Great patio in the summer, with lots to see in Bloor. Food quality is there. the menu has your typical pub fare, and they do it well. Definitely also a great place to watch the game and hang out.

Not bad, but we got charged a 22% tip on our bill automatically, and werent told. Another couple we had drinks with didnt notice, and added a 20% tip on top of the automatic one. They ended up giving a 49% tip for a waitress bringing them one round of beer! I noticed, so it only cost me $31 for a $23 jug!

The music was very nostalgic - I had good vibes there there the past two times I had gone. Both servers I had were super fun and outgoing.. I would also definitely say the last server Jessica was very attentive and sincere. I will be back! :)

Burger was overcooked, soggy and bland. Bun was mushy. Server left my food at my seat and I never saw them again, until I flagged them down (pub was essentially empty) to ask for the side of gravy I had ordered. Forget about asking for hot sauce or something. You get your plate and see ya not ever. Food was COLD. I felt that I didnt matter to staff, despite my $32 bill. Just, heres what you get. Pay me. And why is it OK for a person at the bar yelling away with the f-word being every second word that came out of his mouth. This is 6 pm. Dinner. Id be ashamed to bring my family here. Ill not go back.

This place is the gem of Bloor West! The food is amazing and Sara and Bryce at the bar make you feel like you re sitting with old friends. You definitely need to check this place out!

Had dinner last night with a friend from Orlando. Jessica our server went out of her way to welcome her to Toronto and provided great service. Food was fine. Your typical pub fare. Great local in my area

If you are Latino you are not going to feel comfortable in this place at all. Since we arrived the hostess was super rude, she placed us at the most isolated table and never spoke to us, from that moment on we limited ourselves to only ordering drinks to leave early. Not even a minute passed when the waitress arrived and asked us what we wanted, we told her about the drinks and in the most curt manner she took away our menus (we observed the treatment of the other customers to make sure that what we were feeling was not wrong. that moment and nothing to do with the treatment they were giving us and the other clients, with the other clients if they interacted in a friendly manner). When we finished our drinks we asked for the bill to which the girl immediately gave us the total, when we handed her the cash she told us do you need the change? Because its going to be complicated obviously we asked for our change (context, the bill was $12 dollars and we gave her $20 dollars, I mean the girl wanted to collect the $8 dollars mamon!). When he comes back to give us our change he tells us, we only had $5 dollars, is that useful? So in short, they make you feel uncomfortable for being Latina and they also charge the tip as if the service had been correct, honestly we were going to leave them 10% for the service they gave us, be careful, if we were going to tip them because Whenever I go to a restaurant I take the tip into account but you also rate how much you want to leave and generally I leave 20% for good service. Anyway, not recommended at all, to leave money better somewhere else where they make us feel comfortable, we all deserve respect, we are already in the year 2023, racism is absurd.

Food was bad, and was not offered any compensation. Had like 4 different servers, 3 of which were very rude. Bill was brought to us from a server we hadnt seen yet. And said dont worry about tip, I already added 18% gratuity

My girlfriends and I had an amazing time. Our drinks and meals were delicious! We had such an amazing server who went above and beyond for us. Her name was Jessica. Anything we needed she brought it to us promptly. She was very friendly and I could tell she wanted us girls to have a good night and to enjoy ourselves. The most AMAZING fries in the world, and great service with kind staff.

This is not our first time eating here and each time we have been lucky enough to be served by Jessica! She is engaging, fast, accurate and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We are a big group of 20, all with separate bills, and the pub is usually quite busy, but Jessica still serves with great energy and a positive attitude. Amazing service seems to be rare these days, but she gets it! The food is fairly standard pub fare, but served hot, fresh and with a smile. Fish tacos and buffalo chicken poutine are great choices. Manager is always very gracious about taking a late night, last minute, large party reservation. We will be back often and will always request Jessica as our server.

Was there for an after wedding reception gathering. Our waitress was cheerful and friendly and very efficient. Loved the calamari.

Calamari was a little soggy and chewy but got an excellent chicken sandwich. Lots of soccer games and good service once we caught the waitress eye

Was seated in the bar area, waited nine minutes and still no one acknowledged me, no service, no one to take my order. Nice looking bar but unfortunately staff are the issue.

My husband, baby and I had lunch here a couple weekends ago and highly recommend. Shelby was our waitress and very lovely and on point. Food and drinks were also great. One of the most memorable food items was the buffalo chicken sandwich, so good!

The food and the atomsphere are pretty good other than the female server over there screamed at us for higher tip. We already paid her some tip but she was asking for 25% while the service was awful. She was so rude and told us to drink less beer next time and put the money for the tip.

This has always, in the past, been a go to spot in the neighbourhood I love. I am aware that one blip does not discount the food consistency and convivial atmosphere, but, having to wait twenty minutes before even being acknowledged, I believe, is noteworthy. Had it not been for Jennifer and her exceptional service...finally...I would have left. I know that despite being busy, Christina would never have allowed this to happen. Vegetarian options: exceptional

Been coming here for years in a variety of capacities (with family, small kids, with buddies) and the service and food here are always top notch! The wings are especially perfect, and you cant ask for a better sports bar across the board! Lately, some fellow dads and I have been coming Monday nights to watch football - and Sean, Jessica and the rest of the staff never cease to amaze with all the little things they do to make our experience memorable.

I ordered the Reuben. I got the impression they had run out of corned beef and just scraped together the leftovers and put it in between the bread.

Went down for a busy Halloween night and the service was really amazing! The service was very fast and our server Jess was very accommodating and friendly. She always had a smile and gave us fast great service. Would def recommend!!

Friday lunch date in the hood. Friendly service and great food! We ordered the apple harvest salad and bangers and mash. Salad was perfectly dressed and fresh and delicious. Bangers were perfect along with creamy mash and beans.

Wont turn football game audio on for monday night football. Very misinformed staff - ignore at all costs. not a sports bar. If looking for a sports bar, look elsewhere

Good food. Nicely run family restaurant. But have to take two points off for the server. Our server was literally hovering over us during the payment. Plus, she brought us a faulty machine , took it back after it didn t detect my card. Then proceeded to just enter the same tip amount as before - not giving us a second chance to reduce it since the paying process is so unpleasant. Unfortunately, I m definitely not going to return ever again.

I have ordered their chocolate cake before and it was a fine size. I don t know what happened this time but I got half a piece, thus cost me 15 dollars. Unreal. Gift card for scale, you can see both height and width of this thing are about the size of the card. Ridiculously tiny. More expensive because of inflation and smaller than ever. Do better.

Such great place and would highly recommend! My fiance and I were looking for something to eat and we came by here Friday night. It was our first time here and it was a good first impression. The vibe of the environment was great. Our server Jennifer was super informative and friendly. She gave us suggestions on the meal options, and always checked in. The food was reasonable priced and arrived quickly. We ordered several apps and main meals. Not only were were satisfied and full, we were happy . We will definitely come again.

Our local. Especially a great experience when Jess is your server. She s lovely, attentive and one of the best servers I ve ever had (I can be quite picky). The food is also always spot on. I have brought friends and family who all agree that it s a wonderful experience.
