Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Located in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, Gusto 501 brings together the innovation of sister restaurant Gusto 101 and the soulful hospitality of Janet Zuccarini’s first restaurant, Trattoria Nervosa. Since opening our doors in 2020, Gusto 501 has been serving fresh takes on Italian fare in Toronto’s east end. Designed by award-winning architecture firm PARTISANS, Gusto 501’s space is punctuated by glowing terracotta walls and an oversized “garage door” façade that opens up to reveal a multi-level dining theatre. Every level of Gusto 501 unfolds into a unique experience. Whatever you're craving, there's always a seat at the table for you - our famiglia.
One of my favourite spots to eat out. Decor is outstanding with the terra cotta walls, giving you an intimate outdoor garden feel. Anything on the menu is great, food is always fresh. Had the lamb lasagna, which was very good, though for my tastes prefer it to be less dry.
The atmosphere is incredible. Modern and chic. The service is incredible, very polite, and kind. We asked for two different pizzas from the brunch menu. We loved them. I plan to visit it again to take the dinner menu.
Gusto 501 is a fantastic spot for authentic Italian cuisine in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The food is always fresh and full of flavor, with standout dishes like their handmade pasta. The staff is friendly and attentive, making every dining experience feel special. Whether you're here for a casual meal or a special occasion, Gusto 501 is a must try!
We were very excited to try gusto 501 as we heard many great things about the restaurant. First off we love the modern chic yet warm ambiance. When you’re coming in to the restaurant off King street, it almost feels like you’ve entered a different world. Away from the hustle and bustle of city street. We were seated at the terrace next to the window so we got to watch the sunset sky while having our meal. The ambiance is 10/10. I can’t say the same for the food. We ordered beef carpaccio, I wasn’t a fan of it because the dish tasted too salty. I was surprised that I enjoyed the mortadella pizza, it’s on the heavy side so one or two slices will fill you up. Lastly, we shared a pasta dish, pasta was al dente but again this dish was also on the salty side. I wasn’t pleased with the portion as well. An area they can improve on is to serve their food hot.
A nice restaurant with a contemporary look. The seating downstairs is a little cramped, atmosphere would definitely improve if tables were spaced more. Upstairs seating looked more roomy with a nice view of the restaurant below, but there are lots of stairs to get there so might not be accessible for all. The service was great! Food was good but the salmon was the highlight- the salmon skin was crunchy balanced with a buttery inside. Overall was a pleasant experience.
Been here twice now and it's a must visit! The arancini is delicious and the mushroom pasta is possibly the best pasta I've ever had. The restaurant itself is very cool, spread out across 4 levels with a rooftop patio. The house wines on tap are also delicious with the rose being a real standout. Especially at $1/oz! Definitely make it a stop on your next date night!
Honestly, this was a fantastic spot to dine at! My husband and I went for an impromptu date night, no reservations, and were seated within 5 minutes (for a late dinner, around 8:45pm). The service was excellent, the food outstanding, and the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for! Thanks for a fantastic night out, Gusto 501 😘
Been to the 101 location a few times, but decided to go to this one for brunch. Great selection of food. The 3 mains we ordered were all on the hearty side (see pics), so come hungry. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but I would have liked to have some lighter options. Their cocktails selection looked excellent, but at ~$18/cocktail, we decided to partake in their $1/ounce white/rose/red wines instead. All in all, great experience.
Amazing food and service. I love their house wines on tap for $1 per ounce. Can t go wrong with their pizza, pasta, appetizers and dessert. Great value (with the house wines) and vibe.
First time here, loved the ambiance and staff. Food was really good too. Recommend a visit
We sat on the patio. We were lucky the weather was nice that day. This picture is three years old but at that time I m pretty sure they didn t accept cash. It might ve been debit though, I don t really remember. Maybe my favourite pizza in Toronto! Reasonable prices too.
Super cool vibe. Some fun NA drink options. We split the lasagne and the mortadella pizza and didn t even care that there were no vegetables on our plates, soooo good!
Working next door, grabbed drinks with a client at the bar. Limited seating but friendly service. The ambience definitely helps the area vibes.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. Nice service, great vibe, wood fired forno pizza. Highly recommended!
Had our office Christmas party, enjoyed food and red wine. Pictures dont show well ,didnt want to blind coworkers with the flash. Food
A group of 4 of our went to dine here on Monday 6:15pm - we had a fantastic dining experience! We shared focaccia, burrata, crostino al funghi - our favourite was the crostino al funghi. There was a generous amount of different mushrooms and the flavours were reaaaaally really great! Then each of us got a main: -Tagliolini con gamberi - lasagna -mafalde al funghi -gusto burger We all love our dish and each others - we shared a few bites. My favourites were the tagliolini and the mafalde. We also took advantage of the $1 for 1 oz house wines and it was such a great deal. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends & family.
Can never get bored w their funghi pizza!
Amazing restaurant close to the Distillary District. Will be back! Food : 5/5
Made a reservation for a Monday evening at 7pm for 2 and we were seated on the 3rd floor. This place is beautiful and more intimate compared to the Portland location. We ordered the cavalo nero (kale salad), paccheri el ragu genovese and mafalde ai funghi. The kale salad was solid and you wouldnt know its kale. First time ordering the ragu and it was delicious. But the star dish that never disappoints is the mushroom pasta, perfectly el dente and delicious. Highly recommend and would comeback.
This location food is quite salty compared to other Locations on Portland Street.
For a mid-priced restaurant, this is a 5-star! Beautiful space. Attentive service. Solid food and drinks. Highly recommend!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! :) We were there at 2pm weekend and were given brunch menu which was great (we didn t this option) I loved the steak frites with egg! Will definitely come back for that The pizza and pasta was also good. We enjoyed our time there thanks to our kind server.
Amazing food, great service, great setting. Will defenetly a repeat!!
Omg the Truffle Mushroom Pasta was AMAZING. They don t use alcohol in the sauce anymore so it s perfect for those with dietary restrictions!
I ve been eating here for a few years now but my last order had a STONE in it. I found a white stone in my pasta and actually bit on it. Absolutely ridiculous and such a health hazard. I m at a loss of words and would love for the restaurant to call me back.
Dined here for the first time with my fiancé and we had a great experience. We ordered the Mafalde ai Funghi and the Tagliata, and both dishes were chef s kiss! The flavours of the pasta were so rich and savoury and the mushrooms they used with the steak complimented it so well. We will definitely be back!
dollar ounce wine is the only thing keeping me living in toronto at this point. the espresso martini is the size of a small cereal bowl and hit me like an eighteen wheeler with a sleeping driver. pasta so good it could make you rethink every choice you ve ever made, big and small. never had pork cheek (pancetta? i think. idk. i m only 230 days into duolingo italian let me live) before but it slapped, went absolutely crazy. loved it fr. gonna be back because once again you practically make money when you order the espresso martini because of how big it is
Terrible food experience EVER... Ive ordered Mortadella Pizza and I found a piece of broken thick nail inside after biting under my teeth... this is horrible and dishusting. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
Drinks were frickin good. The bartenders here got it down good. The food was amazing. I had the octopus the meatballs and some za
Went back to this Gusto location again last night and had a great time. Our waitress Hannah was a gem and was helpful in narrowing down what she thought we would enjoy even though we knew we wanted the amazing kale salad and funghi pasta for sure (sooo good!!!) We tried the arancini which was amazing and wanted to try the carbonara pizza - I think I ll stick to carbonara as a pasta option The drinks were great, ambiance was nice and the service provided by everyone was amazing! Definitely will continue to support this east end location can t wait to go back again for the funghi!!!
Love the mafalde funghi pasta and the value of the house wines! Decent service will be back. Keep up the great work!! :)
Beautiful place! A large selection of dishes and each of them is a real pleasure.
I ve been here once before, last year, and came tonight to get dinner with a friend. We came at 5:45pm on a Thursday and we didn t have reservations. They sat us right away and said that they needed the table back by 7:30 which wasn t an issue. The server came and took our orders and food and drinks were out quickly, and were delicious. We also enjoyed dessert. The reason for the 3 star rating is that the music was very loud and off-putting, it was upbeat dance music. We were also sat really close to 3 large groups and struggled to hear each other. The atmosphere was not relaxing or enjoyable but rather really overwhelming and I couldn t wait to get out of there. Our server was also not particularly warm or friendly. Unfortunately no matter how good the food is, I just can t stand it when restaurants are too loud and it makes me want to leave rather than stay and enjoy my dinner.
Hanna was FANTASTIC! perfection as a server. She knows her stuff. Will be back soon. Thank you Gusto!
The overall experience was great at Gusto 501. The most important thing is the food and that was phenomenal. We also wanted to be moved upstairs and they accommodated that request which was appreciated. The interior is also stunning.
Had an wonderful dinner. The pasta and pizza were delicious, with a great atmosphere that felt both upscale and cozy. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more special. Highly recommend!
Superb deals at happy hours Focaccia bread is very soft and delicious Truffle fries are great Pizza as always never disappoints Vegetarian options: Pizza Fries Focaccia bread
We were there for the first time yesterday and we were amazed by how delicious the food was. We had the gusto burger and the carbonara pizza. Both were delicious!! burger was super juicy and omg the pizza!! It s the real deal!!! we would definitely recommend it!!
Best Italian in that area!! Amazinggggg food.
Lovely meal at gusto 501. We got their happy hour menu which is a pretty good deal compared to their regular menu. As well, it ends at 6:30, which is much later than other restaurants.
Over-rated
Neighborhood gem
Such a nice spot! I hadn t actually been here for dinner yet. Pizza was great. Beautiful place for a drink or dinner. Was busy Friday at 5pm.
OMG, the foood was sooooo amazing. Definitely recommend espresso martini and tiramisu. We had mafalde ai funghi, margherita pizza, zacca risotto. All of them were just amazing. Highly recommend this place. Our server NICK H was an amazing host. Helped us read and understand the menu. I would definitely go back here. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options, also ask the server they will help you select the vegetarian options.
Such a great spot. Food is perfect... portion sizes are a touch small but that is great so you can make room for appetizers, dinner and dessert. Upscale and intimate.
We tried the KIng East location. Food - We tried the funghi and salsicce pizzas and we both preferred the funghi. The flavours of both pizzas were very good but we felt extremely heavy afterwards, which we did not experience after trying other pizza places like Pizzeria Libretto. The house wine was terrible. Service - the waitress we had was also terrible. She was not very helpful in our menu selection and she clearly hated her job. Atmosphere - the place is very spacious and the bathrooms are clean. It is very dark and sometimes can get noisy. But the patio on the top floor is very nice.
Their food is always delicious!!! Definitely give this place a try!
As much as I wanted to love this place, both times Ive been here, food has come out cold!! Mushroom pasta (if it was hot) is really good... Not worth the price
We had a great experience at Gusto501 last night. Huge huge shoutout to Jane who worked at the bar upstairs - she was SO welcoming and fun! Food was delicious and service was amazing. Beautiful decor and vibe. Totally recommend!
Hidden gem located in downtown Toronto. Spotted this place on king street during a night out and decided to give it a try. The tables inside are limited even though there is a second level. We found them to be very close together and couldn t really have a decent conversation due to the loud ambiance. Nonetheless, the pastas were spectacular. We got the mushroom pasta and the lasagna which did not disappoint! Service was average, because it was busy we didn t get much attention. Do make reservations upon arrival as it gets very busy.
Had amazing dinner with friends today and the service and food were spectacular specially their truffle pasta
You can t go wrong with anything here! The food, atmosphere, and service are top-notch. This is our second time dining here, and we ll definitely be back soon!
Today, my girlfriend and I visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, expecting an enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, it was filled with various unpleasant moments from beginning to end. 1. Cold reception When we entered the restaurant, we stood at the entrance for a long time. Even after making eye contact with two staff members, no one came to assist us or guide us to a table. This indifferent attitude made us feel completely unwelcome. 2. Poor seating arrangement The staff seated us at a table right next to the restroom. Throughout the meal, the restroom door kept opening and closing, accompanied by unpleasant smells and noise, which severely affected our dining experience. 3. Inefficient service After we were seated, we waited for a long time before anyone came to assist us. When someone finally came, they only asked if we needed water, poured it, and quickly left without further engagement. During the ordering process, there was no communication, nor did the server provide any recommendations or suggestions. The service felt passive and inattentive. 4. Noisy and poorly lit environment The dining environment was terrible. The lighting in the restaurant was dim, and it was so noisy that, even sitting next to each other, we could barely hear what the other person was saying. This made the entire dining experience uncomfortable and unenjoyable. 5. Food and dessert issues We ordered the beef tartare, pasta, and a ham pizza. While the beef tartare and pasta were good, the pizza was excessively salty. Due to the noisy environment, we quickly finished our meal and asked for the bill and dessert. However, when the dessert was served, no forks were provided, making it impossible to eat. In the end, we had to ask the server to cancel the dessert altogether. 6. Careless serving When the server brought the dishes to our table, they didn t even bother to give us a heads-up. Instead, they shoved the plate between us, and it ended up bumping against my arm. This level of carelessness in service was both rude and unacceptable. Overall, this was a disastrous experience. The service, environment, and attention to detail fell far below expectations. While some dishes tasted decent, the numerous issues overshadowed everything and left us extremely disappointed.
My mushroom pasta was amazing but the service was brutal. Waitress never checked on us once, brought half the tables food 20 mins before the rest. She was insanely rude
I was excited to experience Gusto 501 based on reviews. After our visit on my birthday, I was extremely disappointed in the service. I am writing this review hoping it gets address and that no other table experiences this. Our server had no initiative to serve our table despite having a reservation, with no explanation. Our first drinks took a while to get to our table and we were never once asked if we would like another. 2/4 people ordered an appetizer to share for the table, the beef carpaccio and calamari were excellent. But again, our server never checked in on us. This was not a bother since we enjoyed the food, but it was mentally noted. Moreover, the two people who did not order appetizers had their mains delivered at the same time as the appetizers which I find untraditional based on my restaurant experience. We would have liked to eat our mains all together. The other mains arrived, and my shrimp pasta dish tasted really off. The shrimps were not fresh. I could smell the strong scent of shrimp with the dish merely in front of me, and the flavour was overpoweringly smothered in bad shrimp. Before saying anything, I wanted to ensure it was not just me thinking this so I had my boyfriend try it who also loves shrimp and he thought the same. He could smell it from his seat as well. The server never checked in on us during our mains either. At this point we were very frustrated and just wanted to grab the bill after our server seemingly avoiding our table like the plague. Our table works in the service industry and all would never disrespect a server, there was no need for this. We eventually flagged her down while she was walking by our table. I voiced my concern for the shrimp tasting really off, like something was bad or expired in the dish, and that it tasted and smelled very fishy . I should have refrained from using the word fishy because she told me it was a fish dish and of course it was going to taste fishy. I reiterated that there was something bad in the dish. We eat shrimp weekly and never does it taste or smell the way it did. The server did not apologize, she just grabbed the dish and walked away very annoyed. Thankfully, she voided the dish but no words were exchanged from her or the manager on shift she was talking to. The reason for the void as appeared on my bill was she did not like her food . The server was very rude and ruined this experience for me. I was shocked by the horrible service. We still tipped 20% coming from the service industry, but we definitely did not feel any positive energy from our server. I am writing this review in hopes that the restaurant staffs the floor better to ensure prompt and service is given. Our experience happened the evening of September 22, on the main floor at 7:30pm. On the positive note, the appetizers and other mains were delicious with excellent presentation (the shrimp dish included visually, I attached photos below). The ambiance of the restaurant is also lovely. We were impressed by the atmosphere. The poor review is solely based on the service we were provided. Despite the shrimp dish issue, there was ample opportunity to make this experience great but we were avoided.
Great atmosphere, perfect for a date night or a casual get together with friends. The food, especially the pizza is to die for. Food
Im so sad, to say this place went downhill. was a staple for great italian food. the rudeness in front door host, the obvious racist undertone very uncomfortable. we are too big to fail mentality really hurts them good bye Gusto 501, never will i EVER set foot in your location. reading other peoples reviews and seeing the copy paste responses shows the lack of care from the teams end dealing with clients
Amazing food and drinks, good service, nice vibe. I ll definitely come back!
It was very busy. Word of advice book a table ahead of time. The food was well worth it. The pizza and pasta were amazing. The service was outstanding and even though it was super busy everything was on point and wonderful. I will be returning here to try other dishes. I went at night so the atmosphere was soft light and had a very chill vibe. I love the concept of this place. This place is huge, and in a great location. I highly recommend checking it out and do try their pizza. So damn good.
I would come here again for the drinks and food, but not for the service.
Such good food, wine and service.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gusto 501 with my family, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a family meal. Our host was incredibly accommodating, and the customer service throughout our visit was outstanding. The food was delicious, and I can t wait to return to try the pizza we missed this time. Overall, a fantastic experience I highly recommend it!
The place is amazing and the food is to die for, and I am finally satisfied with drinks that would actually taste that good Highly recommended Food
Very ambient, dimly lit, 3 level restaurant. Perfect for a first date or a girls night. Customer service was amazing. I had the Tagliolini pasta, it was okay. The portions are on the smaller side, which I dont mind as you can comfortably finish your food. I brought a cake for a friend, and they assisted with the surprise beautifully! She had no idea. I would revisit in the future. Again, customer service was A1.
I was in town with friends for his birthday and my waiter Lachlan was AMAZING !!! what a great night :)
Amazing vibes, amazing food and really good service. Love their chic ambiance. definitely recommend their funghi pasta and calamari.
First time here and won t be the last! Truly an amazing dinner. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. The food is very fresh and expertly crafted, as well as the cocktails. You can tell the chef s and bartenders take pride in their work. I recommend this place to anybody who hasn t been here before and enjoys Italian food. The calamari, pizza and pasta was very good!
The street patio was moved away as of October. However, the inside is also very outdoorsy due to very large windows. The pizza and pasta were sweeter than they should be. This is a hip location in the neighbourhood with a special happy hour menu.
Gusto 501 in Toronto s Corktown neighborhood is a stunning modern Italian restaurant, offering a dynamic multi-level dining experience. The architectural design, featuring glowing terracotta walls and an open garage-door-style façade, sets the stage for an elevated culinary journey across its five floors. The ground floor is centered around pizza and pasta, with the wood-fired oven producing perfectly crisp, flavorful pizzas. A standout is the Amatriciana pizza, with guanciale and pecorino giving a rich, peppery kick. The upstairs levels offer more intimate spaces and a rooftop patio that s perfect in warm weather. Their inventive menu includes options like round lamb ragu lasagna and small plates in the Attico lounge, ideal for sharing. The atmosphere is both chic and cozy, making it an ideal spot for anything from a casual dinner to a special night out. While prices can lean on the higher side, the ambiance and quality of the food make it a worthwhile splurge for those looking to enjoy modern Italian fare.
Went here with a large group of girls for our friends birthday. One of our friends had recommended it to us because the food was great but the reason that convinced us to go was that they have a $1 an oz of their house wine. This was such a great steal since we were all going out after. Overall the atmosphere was great and just such a good restaurant if your not trying to spend so much money :) will definitely be going back again!
The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night. The food was fresh, prepared quickly, and our server made excellent beverage recommendations. Its a bit pricey, but definitely a place for a special occasion.
We dined on October 11th, this is a special occasion for my boyfriend & I. The service was very inattentive, and the upstairs host was not communicative. Upon going upstairs to the secondary host, she never spoke to us and just walked away, I didn t know she was a host until a server passing by let us know she was taking us to our table. Once we ordered and received the food, we were never checked on. We ordered apps, mains, and then dessert. The orecchiette was a bit too spicy, however it does use nduja so spicy is expected. I would ve appreciated the server checking on us as we would ve liked to order another pasta. We needed to flag her down for water & drink refills. While clearing our main plates the server asked how everything was so far, I mentioned the orecchiette was spicier then we expected, she offered another pasta but it had been far too long at that point. The cannoli was very, very bad. I wouldn t advise ordering that whatsoever. Although, the ambience was very nice, and the host at the main entrance was delightful.
Very impressed with this place. Waiters were extremely accommodating, even complimenting me on my eyes! Great atmosphere, cool architecture, not too expensive. Only critique is no calamari on brunch menu.
Place was great. Food is amazing, but interior design is outstanding! Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free pasta for some dishes Food : 5/5 |
This place has it all. Great food at good prices. An amazing atmosphere within an architecturally beautiful space. And some of the best staff and service I have come across.
Rating: Gusto 501 stands out as a testament to modern Italian dining, nestled in the heart of the city. With its beautifully designed interiors that blend contemporary elegance with warmth, this restaurant offers more than just a meal; it provides a culinary experience that captivates both the palette and the eye. Dishes Ordered: ARANCINI: Margarita Pizza: Tiramisu: Review: From the moment I walked into Gusto 501, I was enveloped in an ambiance that perfectly marries modern design with the intimate, rustic charm Italy is known for. The attention to detail in the interiors, from the lighting to the seating arrangement, sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. ARANCINI: The meal commenced with a serving of Arancini that was nothing short of sublime. The crispy exterior gave way to a rich and flavorful mixture of guanciale and tomato, all nestled atop a velvety pecorino fonduta. Each bite was a delightful exploration of textures and flavors, highlighted by a hint of black pepper that added just the right amount of kick. Margarita Pizza: Next, the Margarita Pizza was a masterpiece of simplicity and flavor. The crust was impeccably cooked to a perfect char, providing a wonderful contrast to the fresh, vibrant tomato sauce and the melt-in-your-mouth mozzarella. Its a testament to Gusto 501s commitment to traditional techniques and quality ingredients, creating a dish that felt both comforting and gourmet. Tiramisu: The meal concluded with what can only be described as an extraordinary Tiramisu. Each layer was a testament to the skill of the pastry chef, with the perfect balance of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa powder. It was, without exaggeration, one of the best I have ever had - a harmonious blend of flavors that was both rich and wonderfully light. Overall Experience: Gusto 501 is a jewel in the crown of the citys dining scene, offering a slice of Italy with a modern twist. The food is a celebration of traditional Italian flavors, presented with a flair that speaks to the restaurants innovative spirit. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, making each guest feel welcomed and valued. For those seeking an Italian dining experience that marries the traditional with the contemporary, Gusto 501 is, without doubt, a destination that delivers on all fronts.
Really enjoyed the verticality of it. The food was very good but was also expensive. For the price I think it was about what you would expect from its price point. The focaccia was excellent but I was very disappointed by the lasagna. The house wine was also decent for its price. Definitely make a reservation if you are planning on going around or after 6:30
Have to edit my review because my last experience was such a let down. Lady in the front told me there was no space in the restaurant, I quickly went online to reserve because stuff wasn t adding up. Voila space for two magically became available SMH
This place has an amazing ambience. The funghi pasta and calamari were nothing special but I d go back to try their other dishes. Great service!
Food was average, our server was terrible. We has asked for the roof top but were placed in a dark corner. Another server placed some candles on our table at the end of the meal which we thought was hilarious. We had to ask for vinegar and olive oil for our foccia bread. She checked in maybe twice in the hour we were there. Lasagna was good, the pasta was average to terrible. The only positive was we were home about an hour after our reservation so it was painful but at least it was quick. Had brunch at Spaccios today and it was excellent... go there instead
A new go to place for me. Staff was amazing and kind, fun to chat with. Food is amaaaaazing, classic Italian but so scrumptious. Have rooftop and street parking outside. Have been twice now and I will be back !
Found a hair in fast food badest experience I ever had
Service has never been great at Gusto, whether its the 101 on Portland or here. We came here for a late night drink and some nibbles and the place was buzzing. The wait to get a table wasnt long, but service was pretty atrocious. We sat for a good 10 minutes before water even showed up. Then we decided to order drinks and food at the same time to avoid any further waiting. The food and drinks took forever. The food is always decent, but nothing to write home about.
The athmosphere and the place are great, service is efficient and friendly and the mushroom pasta is delicious!
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Food, spectacular. Service, superb. Atmosphere, absolute vibes. My fiance and I just hosted our rehearsal dinner here for a party of 13 people and it was absolutely incredible. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the overall vibes of the restaurant were exactly what we wanted. Hanna served us and was an absolute delight. A DREAM. A VISION. THANK YOU HANNA. I would simply come back for her incredible service and for the amazing food, of course. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU GUSTO 501 for making our rehearsal dinner so memorable. We had a wonderful time and it was all because of your culinary expertise and wonderful staff. 100000/10 would recommend and WILL be back! Much love, Selina & Luca
Very nice and reasonably priced Italian. House wine is pretty decent!
Such a sweet spot for a nice dinner!! I actually confused 501 and gusto 101 and showed up at the wrong restaurant for a family dinner - by the time I arrived at gusto 501 my food (that my family ordered for me) had gone cold waiting on the table. I asked our server if she could warm it for me & she kindly offered to bring me a completely fresh plate. The service was honestly so good throughout the night!
Parking: Paid street parking. Food
Great food and vibe. One of the best beef Carpaccio. Great selection of House wine. The burger is well made and enough for one person. Food
The pasta was so fresh and the texture was amazing. So flavourful. The lamb meatball appetizer was really good too. very filling for an appetizer. Well worth the price! Would come again! Only downside no free bread
Me gusto mucho Gusto 501! The food was amazing. The ambience was happening and really nice. The decor is super cool. The rooftop was intimate but so fresh with a wonderful view. Our waiter was very friendly and helped us with suggestions about the menu. All in all, we had a wonderful evening.
very delicious authentic italian food the atmosphere was very relaxing and serene, creating a pleasant vibe to enjoy your meal. I ordered the taglioni con gamberi and it tasted wonderful. everything was just right and it left me feeling satisfied the rest of the night. the dish looked miraculous at the end of my meal I took what I presumed were free appetizers.? turned out it belonged to a private party they were having there.. i apologize to the staff for having to chase me down
Service is very hit and miss. Some can be great, but most times the waiters are inattentive and take forever to take your order, refill water, ask if youre finished etc. Good mushroom pasta
Wow great restaurant! The hostess who greeted and sat us was incredibly friendly and did more than just host as she helped clean tables served food . Loved the team work. She gave us recommendations and if I enjoyed truffles I would have ordered it (3 of my guests ordered it and absolutely loved it). I ordered the lasagna and it was so delicious! Our server was training and he did a phenomenal job. He was attentive, aware, but not hovering and he wasn t trying to be our best friend. The ambience was incredible with the garage door open on this beautiful evening. Thank you for an incredible evening
Food
Fantastic and beautiful dim candlelit atmosphere and the service was very friendly. Although I had booked a reservation, they comp our drinks for the wait. My guest and I had to wait over 40 mins for our dishes to be served but the food was delicious overall it s a great place if you want an extended girls night.
Could have posted that they are all booked by someone event company
Gusto 501, located in Toronto s vibrant Corktown neighborhood, offers a dynamic Italian dining experience that feels both upscale and cozy. The moment you step inside, the stunning multi-level space grabs your attention, with its sleek industrial design softened by warm lighting and earthy tones. Whether youre seated by the open kitchen or on the rooftop patio, every spot feels thoughtfully designed for comfort and ambiance. The menu is a tribute to modern Italian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with innovative twists. Start with the burrata or the perfectly crisp arancini before diving into the pasta, where the ricotta gnocchi is pillowy and rich. Pizza lovers wont be disappointed with their wood-fired options, offering a perfect balance of chewy crust and savory toppings. Service is attentive without being intrusive, and the staff is well-versed in the menu, ready to make thoughtful recommendations. The wine and cocktail list is extensive, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for your meal. While Gusto 501 is a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the food, the beautiful atmosphere, and the overall dining experience make it worth every penny. Perfect for date nights or special occasions.
Went here with our friends this past Friday night for an anniversary celebration and we absolutely loved it!! Service was excellent from server Nick H. Food was fantastic, wine, ambiance and the atmosphere is sooo cool. Loved the architecture and open space to the outdoors. Food
I had ordered last night the mafalde ai funghi. As you can see, the sauce was non-existent and there were no mushrooms, which is supposed to be one of the main ingredient! For the price paid, this is really unacceptable! Ive ordered multiple times and even dined in their restaurant, but I was very disappointed with last nights order.
The pasta was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was amazing
Gusto 501 is an architectural marvel with its softly illuminated terracotta lined walls that ascend to five lofted levels of intimate yet spacious dining areas. Each level offers a unique dining experience. The food and service are five star+. We trusted our server, Alejandra, to select our omakase meal and not a morsel of food was left on multiple shared offerings. We savored and devoured pulpo (grilled octopus), aranchini, calovo nero (kale salad), carpaccio, mafalde al funghi (mushroom pasta), tagliolini con gamberi, mortadella pizza, tagliata (steak), mini sweet peppers, broccolini, cannoli, tiramisu. Here is a video clip long after the other patrons went home after enjoying this amazing ambiance.
Stellar food, beautiful atmosphere and great service! You can tell how good an Italian restaurant is based on their Tiramisu, and Gusto 501 absolutely knocked it out of the park with theirs! Truthfully, everything we had was phenomenal. The lasagna was the best Ive had in a long time, and a must try. Beef carpaccio was also out of this world. And dont forget the calamari - so good. Definitely coming back to try more things from their menu like the malfade pasta. The service was also top notch. Our server was knowledgeable, energetic and funny! Overall, this was a great experience!
My friend and I walked in without a reservation and were seated quite quickly. It was a recommendation from a friend and the gastro-pub feel with the elevated dining levels was nothing like Ive seen before. I had the Mafalde Ai Funghi; it was just bouncy enough and the mushroom mix was fresh. My friend had the Lasagna and seemed to love every bite. This place is quite a treat location, but the money is worht the unique atmosphere and fresh food.
I love this place. I particularly love the Cavolo Nero Kale salad and Mafalde Al Funghi.. and that Focaccia bread. Our server Madison was lovely (even after a full day shift). Delicious food and excellent server. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious and our server Adi was amazing, I accidentally left my phone behind and thankfully didn t get too far down the road before Adi found us and returned my phone. Definitely coming back on my next trip to Toronto!
Such a lovely venue to enjoy a Friday evening in. And the 1/2 price mains and house wines make for an incredibly affordable, top tier evening out. We were seated up on the roof patio which is a lovely - if somewhat scorch-y - area with the afternoon sun streaming in over an expansive view of downtown. Beautiful plantings and umbrellas do provide a cooling sense. Crisp cold 3 dollar (!!!!) glasses of Argentinian rosé added real chill to the evening, and dinner was simply delightful. A starter of crisp salty chewy porchetta with pear compote got the appetite going, and a main of a proper Margarita pizza and pasta with shrimp was subtle perfection. With tip, 4 glasses of wine and the aforementioned dishes we came in under 75.00. Fantastic. And the lineups suggest the secret is out. Reserve, or arrive early. Recommended.
I visited Gusto 501 a few days ago and absolutely loved it. I had been there a few years back when it first opened, but having moved out of Toronto a few years ago it had been a while since I dined there. The food was amazing, their wine on tap in my opinion is better than many more expensive wines at restaurants, and the service from Joe and Merve (probably spelling that wrong) was incredible. Oh, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I just wished they had a location in London (UK) so I could visit more often.
I recommend coming to Gusto 501 for the incredible, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Whether youre seated on the rooftop patio with excellent views, or on one of the other 3 levels of the loft-style dining room, youre in for a treat. I split the carbonara pizza and the lasagna with my partner, and both were excellent. The pizza is more than enough for 1 person, so be ready to take home leftovers. Also, the carbonara pizza was spicier than advertised, so caution to those who arent into that. The service was reasonably good. One other thing to note is that there are not bathrooms on every level, so you may need to take a few flights of stairs during your meal to access one. However, I was really impressed with how clean they were compared to most public bathrooms. Overall, I had a really great experience.
Gusto 501 has now become my new favourite Italian restaurant! The service was great both times I went. Our server was efficient and the food came out without much delay. Onto the food WOW! Everything we had was exceptional. BUT the standouts and MUST-TRY items for both my wife and I were: CARBONARA PIZZA - I ve never had a pizza like this. It was delectable! The egg yolk on a pizza was a first for me and definitely won t be the last! MAFALDE AI FUNGHI - absolutely incredible! Perfectly cooked al dente pasta and the most delish mushroom sauce! CAVATELLI AL POMODORO - almost as good as the Mafalde! The slight kick of chili was a perfect boost to this classic tomato sauce/cheese pasta. We already can t wait to go back for Happy Hour when Pizza s and Pasta s are half price! Absolutely incredible food and service.
Hannah was amazing! Made sure we got our order in for happy hour. Will definitely be back!
Great food, friendly servers, nice patio, amazing happy hour.
Got the lasagna and mushroom pasta and both were delicious, especially their mushroom pasta. Carpaccio and calamari are great too. Pizza is good but nothing special, but would definitely come again for their pasta and appetizers.
Very modern and vibrant restaurant. I reserved a table for 8 but the available time was not my first choice. I accepted it as we were in the neighbourhood and everyone was interested in going there. They called me within an hour and accommodated us on our preferred time slot. Our server was super nice and had great suggestions. All the appetizers and mains were yummy for every taste as we had younger and older peers in our group.
Food and service are great. Strongly recommend the Mafalde Ai Fungi and Carpaccio. We are here to celebrate birthday, cake fee is $3 per person which is fair
Love the food and vibe here. The restaurant has 4 floors and patio. Food ordered: Margherita pizza - excellent pizza and closest to an Italian pizza. ORECCHIETTE RAPINI E SALSICCIA - this was good, slightly high on salt Carpaccio was good as well. House wine - Red and White were both good for the price of $3 Tiramisu was good. Service can be hit or miss esp. during happy hour.
Wonderful location. Great ambience and interior design. Food is similar and as good as their other locations.
Service wasn t good server didn t check up on us to see if we need anything or how the food was, it was our anniversary so we wanted a photo and I asked the server if she can take a picture of us and she said no and walked away after us paying.. she also never smiled and had a straight face.
One of our favourite spots in the city. The mushroom pasta is my favorite and the pizza is always a hit. The ambiance in the place is great Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Accommodated cinnamon allergy Parking: Lots of street parking in the area Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
Too loud, food was just fine
The Malfade Ai Funghi is .
Super cool atmosphere and great food
Absolutely delightful in every way. The manager Sugi was so nice to us, and made the lunch even more amazing. Absolutely fantabulous place. The pasta, pizza and appetizers were super delicious, with a home made fresh feel to them. Highly recommended.
The vibes are unbeatable! We sat upstairs and we loved it. The food was amazing (both the pizza and mushroom pasta). Definitely need a reservation during busy times but we thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for sure. The house wine was delicious and shockingly cheap.
Beautiful rooftop patio and delicious food. The host and our server Adi are total rockstars. We were able to sneak in sans reservations on Canada Day Sunday, but would definitely recommend booking a table. Will definitely be going back! Crushes Terroni any day.
If I can rate this a NO star I would. The maitre de was rude and unprofessional. They made me wait for my take out order. They told me to wait 1 min and made me wait for 10min. She then had the audacity to tell me I should have cancelled the order. All I asked was to be more honest with the time frame. She walked away from me and she even mocked me with the other host and hostesses and laughed about it. Teach your maitre de some professional manners. You represent a fine restaurant but left a distasteful experience.
general manager and kate provided us AMAZING SERVICE
The food, wine and cocktails we had were great. We ordered 3 appetizers and two mains and it all tasted delicious. The biggest issue was where they sat us in 30+ degree weather. There was no ac, no wind and no fans. Ask to sit in front of the big open garage door if you go here.
I been asking my boyfriend to bring me to this spot since i ve been seeing it on social media, but it was such a bad experience for us. He made a reservation online for my birthday on the patio and we understand it rained so it was closed, but they couldn t have told us that they didn t have any tables available until we got there? The least they could ve done was call us and tell us so we didn t have to waste our time going there. We get there and we get sat right beside the washroom on the bar rail which we just went with because we were so hungry and it was too late for us to find another place as we were looking forward to going to this restaurant. It was so hot in the restaurant and the waiter didn t give us ice so we had to ask the food runner multiple times. The calamari set the bar so high but the portion of the pasta was so small we were still hungry. We ordered a margherita pizza and it was so salty that we lost our appetite and just left after 30 min of being there. Planned to get dessert but didn t even want to be in that restaurant anymore. i understand it s busy, we still tipped the server and everything a decent percent but it was such a bad birthday experience I would never go there ever again!
Came back several times for the fungi pasta and pizza. Soooo good!!!
Our server was brilliant and very accommodating. The venue is amazing and ambiance is unmatched. My partner and I attended here on night one of our three night trip to Toronto and it definitely met expectations. I had the mushroom pasta and it was genuinely the best meal I have ever had. My partner had the strip loin which he also said was the best steak he has had. We also had calamari, focaccia and fries which were all great ( I am still eating leftovers from my pasta the next night) I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Toronto. I wish they had a restaurant this good in Scotland !
Mattie is freakin awesome. Happy hour here is bomb dot com
A beautiful place for the perfect date night. Loved the tiramisu, the only reason we went here Price on the higher side obviously but definitely worth the taste. Definitely recommend to also book your table before hand cause it can get pretty busy. The stairs inside this restaurant reminded me of hogwart s moving staircase Vegetarian options: Available Dietary restrictions: Yes Parking: Sketchy street parking available Kid-friendliness: Kinda Wheelchair accessibility: Kinda
Food was EXTREMELY salty. We couldnt finish most of the food and didnt even bother take out because of how salty they were. I felt like eating salt.
Great spot! I prefer this location the most. It s not chaotic, staff is super friendly and the food is delicious.
Tucked away on a relatively quiet stretch of King East, you ll find Gusto 501. Many restaurants offer a mushroom truffle pasta and if that s your thing this restaurant is a must! For me, Gusto s Mafalde Ai Funghi ($27) is the best! You ll get a perfectly sauced el dente pasta with porcini, portobello, and oyster mushrooms in a truffle cream. I have ordered this dish often and it is consistently outstanding. Being a mushroom lover we also ordered the Funghi pizza ($23) and that also in my opinion, is the best pizza with shiitake, oyster mushrooms, and caramelized onions. The dough is light, crispy, and flavourful. It is the perfect size to share. With a blend of fior di latte, taleggio, and pecorino cheeses, it hits all the savoury notes. Our server Aria was attentive and helpful. The vibe is young and hip and bustling even on a late Sunday afternoon. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options in pizza and pasta and apps. Parking: Usually able to do find street parking.
Good food, amazing service and vibe
Great service. Tasty burger and rare beef. This is my first time tried Italian foods. I love the way they make the food. Really delicious. I will come back soon. 100% recommendation. Parking: On weekdays, we need to pay the ticket with the time limit. Weekend will be free.
I always pass by this restaurant on King East and finally got to try it recently. Between the two of us, we ordered the Salsicce pizza and the malfalde ai funghi (which appears to be a very popular menu item here!) Knowing me, I enjoy thin crust pizza and this was exactly it. Even though its got a thin crust, the toppings did not soak through nor fall apart. The chilli adds a nice kick of flavour to the pizza yet its not too much heat making it very flavourful. The malfalde ai funghi was extremely delicious and flavourful! If you are a truffle/mushroom lover, you have to try it! It is a dish thats on the heavier side making this the perfect dish to share! I love coffee and desserts! Their tiramisu is very delicious tiramisu. Its got the perfect amount of coffee soaked in the lady finger, not too dry, not overly soggy. Its the perfect touch to end the meal!
Went during happy hour and the food was delicious! Absolutely loved the Focaccia ($5 - HH price) and Burrata ($28). Calamari ($21) & Carpaccio ($11 - HH price) were also so good! Was a bit disappointed by the Cappellacci Con Fiselli ($16.50 - HH price). The pasta was a bit tougher than I like. Overall great food and quality - definitely going back. Oh and 6oz of wine was only $3 during happy hour!
Truffle pasta and pizza
Got served with leftover food today. I had been to here at least 3 times. Today I ordered in-store and once I got it I immediately started eating in my car. The pizza is COLD with cold yolk, but the worst part is the pasta tastes so HARD and the sauce was JAMED together. like it was left over for at least few hours and it was definitely NOT freshly made. You can literally tell from the picture. It supposed to be soft and smooth, however it was so hard. I had been here for several times and I know what it should taste like.
carbonara pizza with cheap bacon vs guanciale. Broccolini portion ridiculously tiny, Retail food cost perhaps $1. Used to be great, really gone down hill.
I booked a birthday dinner 07/22/2024 with my wife on OpenTable, ordered a Tiramisu, however the tiramisu didnt come with candles, kind of disappointed... Overall food was okay. Pasta too salty for my taste, Pizza was good.
Mafalde Ai Funghi is the best! Capesante and Tiramisu need to be tried. Lovely place.
Wow simply amazing service. I was served by a gentlemen named Tiago possibly the best drink I have ever had in my life to this date. If anyone were to come here and not know what to drink trust me . Get an Amoretto Sour.
I ordered Uber delivery so I can t comment on in-house experience. They offered a two for one cavatelli pomodoro portions were so small. You essentially got one proper portion under the guise of BOGO. Idk if the pasta was fresh house made but it didn t taste like it was. The sauce was disappointing and bland but overly spiced with chili of some kind; spicy but lacking flavour. Pasta was tossed in sauce but still somehow not saucy at all, I guess they didn t add anymore on top before sending. Hardly any cheese on top. As an Italian person I was extremely sad with this dish. I ve had better pomodoro from low end takeout pizza places tbh.
Very nice location just outside the center. Nice service and only short waiting times for food and drinks. The Funghi pasta and pizza are highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Enough selection of vegetarian dishes.
Pizza was good, a proper thin crust. It s just on the pricier end. Having said that I d return. You can t go wrong with the marg and fungi, the former using a nice and generous amount of basil.
Words cannot describe how much I love their pasta! Went here with my family and all of them enjoyed it! The carbonara pizza tasted a little burnt - but the pastas made up for it. If I could eat one thing for the rest of the life, it d be the Mafalde Al Funghi pasta (this was the truffle cream pasta)!! Service and interior was a 10/10 as well.
how did 8 out of 12 people in our group order the same thing, the malfade al funghi????????? it was soooooo good insane texture w the malfade actually so perfectly done the octopus was also nice and smokey, tiramisu WAS SOOOOO good the cream was and the service also just made us feel at home outdoor seating was pure vibes too
What a fantastic dinner at Gusto 501! Our server, Adi, was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable, making us feel right at home with his friendly and efficient service! The food was absolutely delightful as well! 5 stars!
From the moment we stepped into Gusto 501, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Adi was a true professional - attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. He made excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. The manager, Joe, was also remarkable, ensuring that our evening was flawless with his attentive oversight! A must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Italian food in Toronto!
Always a pleasure when I go to Gusto501. Amadeusz the General manager is such a kind man. The food is first class. And the windows are always clean ;) Great place in the city of Toronto Food
Hadnt been in a few years. Everything got smaller! The side of fries is like a kids portion. Almost $100 for 3 items for a solo dinner. But still hungry. Service and the vibe pretty 5/5.
Great place for brunch. Top pizzas in Toronto. Burger was OK.
Great food & vibes in a beautifully architecturally designed restaurant
BEST SPOT EVER! Nick and Jett are so cute and so funny! This place is a must visit!
Pretty restaurant, decent food. Great location away from busy downtown
My friend and I took our moms to Gusto501 for Mother s Day and it was the best decision. We had a table on the rooftop which has stunning views and such a great atmosphere. I totally suggest it on a warm day when the sun sets. Adi provided amazing service and was very welcoming and patient considering my mom does not speak any English. The food he suggested was really good and the house wine was also of a stellar quality (we were surprised as house wines are usually quite heavy). Octopus appetiser, mushroom pasta, steak and tiramisu are a must at this place. Not a lot of restaurants in Toronto make such good impression so I wanted to make sure to share it!
Recently dined here and enjoyed our experience. The regular dining was full so we sat at the bar which was still great. The service was wonderful and the food was tasty. The pasta was very basic but the pizza was awesome.
I had lunch with my colleagues during our lunch hour and we were nervous about the time but we were pleasantly surprised. It was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Jade was friendly, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The service was prompt without being rushed, allowing us to enjoy each course at a leisurely pace. Gusto definitely exceeded my expectations in every aspect. It s a gem of a restaurant that I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon!
My friends and I made a reservation for a big reunion dinner (some of us from out of town). We booked 2 weeks in advance for the rooftop patio. We called (twice) to confirm if we would get a table indoors if it rained and was reassured (twice) that we would. The morning of the reservation we received a call saying that our reservation was cancelled due to possible rain. They had no seating inside (except the bar, which was not what they said and would not work for our large group). Very disappointed with the service and misleading information from staff.
Gusto 501 is a beautifully designed with an elegant ambiance and stylish decor. The dimly lit dining room, adorned with warm lighting, creates a sophisticated and intimate atmosphere. However, while the décor impresses, the culinary experience needs more attention. **Food:** Unfortunately, the food fails to live up to the expectations set by its stunning surroundings. The menu offers an array of upscale dishes, but the execution is a little disappointing. We ordered Mafalde al funghi, which was lacking seasons, the pasta was thick and it was not as tasty as we expected. We also ordered lasagna, it looked a bit burned on top and felt something was missing. As for dessert, the tiramisu was good but I personally felt it was not as moist. The torta de mandorla was well made and presented. The service however was good Aaron was helpful addressing our concerns. Servers were attentive and friendly. As mentioned earlier, the ambiance is beautiful, warm and comforting. The bar area is equally inviting, offering a wide selection of cocktails and wine. Overall we liked the ambiance and service of gusto 501 we wished that food was as good as gusto 101 or better.
Lives up to the hype! We ordered several classic, highly rated dishes, and everything was as good as the reviews claim. We had the Foccacia, Margherita Pizza, Mafalde Al Funghi and Tiramisu. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic.
Delicious pizza. Fantastic service.
Everything we ordered was so good and the price The service was really good as well, the server kept refilling the water and asked us if we needed anything. Very nice Italian restaurant, highly recommend!
Just like Nervosa and Gusto 101, this lovely Italian spot serves up stellar food and even more stellar service every single time. I absolutely love the three floor space including two patios. There s really something for everyone here. Notable favourites include the Maldy and I recently had the cavatelli Pomodoro and or simple dish it was executed perfectly. One of my regular spots in Toronto and HIGHLY recommended for lunch or dinner.
We were excited to come here based on reviews however we left completely disappointed. Made a reservation and upon arrival we were sat right away. But we waited almost 25 minutes before a server finally approached us to tell us they cant find our server so just hold on a bit longer while they try to locate her . Sat for almost 40 min total before another server came and told us they still couldn t find her. He then asked for our drink/food orders meanwhile we hadn t been given menus or even water yet. The food was good however that is probably the worst service i have ever had at a restaurant.
The risotto verde was honestly inedible- and it s the only vegan option on the menu. The texture was slimy, it was way too salty, and the chlorophyll is really overpowering. Would love to see better, tastier vegan options because it s a lovely atmosphere for a night out!
We had a lovely meal here but we were a bit disappointed when we showed up at 3:30pm and it was still a brunch menu. We scowered online for somewhere that had a lunch menu or switched over to dinner as 3 is an awkward time for food in Toronto apparently (we were coming out of an appointment). Online it showed seperate menus with lots of food items we were excited to try so we were pretty disappointed to come into find it was the limited brunch menu at that hour of the day. They should maybe update their menus online
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. Food is always great. Drinks are amazing. House wine for $1/oz is a great deal. I love coming here.
The grilled chicken pieces dish was really small. Disappointed. The place looks good, but the region is not nice.
Gusto501 was pretty good. My server I think her name was kathie or Katie was really nice but i didnt like the truffle pasta. kinda bland. Our server was nice enough to take it off our bill and I got a Margarita pizza insgtead. yummy. I would reccomend Gusto501 the food was good and the service was good too.
Gusto 501 is kne of my favourite places to come to. The mafalde ai funghi, calamari, kale salad, espresso martinis and many more dishes from here continuously has me coming back. Along side great ambiance and service. Keep killing it Gusto
We finally made it to Gusto after months of saying, we gotta go, and wow am I glad we did. The food is amazing. We split the mortadella pizza, the glazed carrots and the mafalde Ai fungi. Everything was spectacular. The sauce on the pasta was so spot on. Earthy and creamy and the carrots had a nice zing. The hostess, was friendly and funny. She made it that much more special. Everyone was lovely and professional. We at first said we didnt have room for dessert but then our hostess drew our attention to the almond tart with rhubarb and strawberry compote with pistachio cream. Ok, seriously, you must get it. Make room for it even if you dont think you have room. Worth every calorie. Thank you to the staff and chef. We will 100% be back.
Lovely experience at this restaurant. Great food and service, lovely multi-level seating area. Reservations are highly recommended. All the apps and main course were great. The Tiramisu I felt like could be better Overall, great experience
Outstanding dine-in experience at Gusto 501! Exceptional service, delicious food, and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!
First time trying this cool restaurant which I always saw passing by. Staff is incredibly polite and helpful. I chose Fungi pasta and it was really delicious!! Will go back to try their brunch
We had our Mothers Day dinner here and everything was amazing, from the food to the service. No complaints. And shoutout our server Aaron for taking great care of us.
First time coming for brunch and it was awesome. Great food and the environment was so fun. Highly recommend the rose on tap!
Love the food, service and vibe here! Everything tastes great and are prepared beautifully. My favourite dishes are the kale salad, mushroom, pasta, fresh, focaccia, and meatballs. The servers are fantastic as theyre able to guide you through the menu. Be sure to make reservations as it can be rather difficult to get a table if youre just walking in especially if youre a larger group.
Service here is amazing! The atmosphere on each level gives a nice intimate feel with candles at all tables with a nice dim light all around. Staff are great pay attention to details and are wonderful to returning guest at times they may remember your usual order which shows a great personal touch. Made our anniversary dinner feel very special will definitely come back whenever.
Amazing food and more than amazing service. We ordered Tagliolini Gamberi and Mafalde Al Funghi. Both amazing pasta. Must try! Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options
Delicious food and architecture in this multi-level restaurant with soaring ceilings and a pizza oven. The walls are lined with striking terra cotta masonry and there is a large sliding glass door/window at the front that glides up to allow for open-air dining. At the top of the restaurant, 50 feet up, is a glass roof that brings in lots of natural light during the day and was really lovely to look at when it s raining. The width of the space is only about 30 feet so the restaurant is split into four levels with 5 intimate dining spaces (including the rooftop terrace). Overall it was a delightful experience dining here. Dietary restrictions: I m pregnant and they were able to accommodate by removing the raw egg yolk component from one of the dishes.
I ve been to Gusto 101 many times due to proximity to my old office. The food was even better than I remember. The service is great and the space is stunning! Our server was able to provide some great recommendations and accommodated the order of food being delivered. We weren t rushed even though there is a time limit for reservations. Can t wait to be back (to any of their locations). Highly recommend the kale salad and the scallops are to die for.
Had a girl s dinner here. The price range is like 30$ per person we are definitely comjng back Food
Food is amazing. Looking out to an encampment isn t worth the price and service. The dinner view of a homeless tent ruined our anniversary.
I love everything about Gusto 501! Fast service yet the food is fantastic! The $1 ounce wine is also a steal. I have two points of feedback for the restaurant: 1) Never tell customers they only have a 90 minute seating period. If customers are giving you business and spending money beyond that time, let them stay. It feels a bit weird to be welcomed to the restaurant but then immediately told by the hostess that we have 90 minutes. Doesnt feel welcoming. 2) Bring physical menus back (which I believe you did). Dont encourage phone use at a restaurant like this.
The best pasta I had in Toronto so far!! Highly recommend the Mafalde al funghi, extremely creamy and savoury. The vibes were spectacular, candles everywhere, very dim environment. Perfect for date nights and girls night out!! Def worth check it out!
Food was great, as usual. Service was okay, again, standard with Gusto. They need friendlier servers.
Always a great option for those trying for the first time or revisiting with friends. Love the design of this place, and there are so many seating options that this restaurant offers. Its particularly nice in the summer with the patio and the light and warmth filtering in! If youre looking for parking, you likely need to resort to paid on-street parking or walking around the corner for parking on side streets.
Amazing pastas and pizzas. The place is very nice also.
