Ordered through Uber Eats twice and both times were disappointing. First time, I got the General Tao chicken and it was overwhelmingly sweet with no other flavour. Wanted to give it another chance and just ordered the chili chicken for BOGO and it’s extremely salty and again has no other flavours.
I asked for special instructions and they followed them when they didn’t have to, the food was above my expectations and so much quantities , great value !! Great service!! Highly recommend and will order again!!!
This restaurant and Hot Wok are the best two Hakka restaurants in Scarborough. The $8.99 chili chicken is the real legend
I visited this place for the first time and ordered D. General Tao Chicken/ Noodles. I really love the noodles. It’s a family business. The dining is not suitable to dine in with family, but take out is the best option. Food is so tasty. Grandpa and son cooks in the kitchen and wife is at the cashier. Food is so cheap and tastes better than other Chinese places around this area. Please do not judge the place by its appearance the food is very tasty. A lot of time the appearance what deceives people and they automatically assume that the food from this place will be just like it appears from the outside. But it’s not the case here. I was very pleased with the taste and quality of their food prepared with love and affection. I will definitely get my takeout here next time I crave for good Chinese food.
Food is always delicious, and have generous servings. Sweet and sour fish half rice half noodles, sauce on the side is my go to.
I ordered on skip the dishes. I got the pepper tofu as I was craving it since I order from other Hakka restaurants frequently and they were all closed and this one had good reviews I thought I would give it a try. I wish I didn’t waste my 30$ on this food. The tofu I got was hard and stale, definetly not fresh and had no flavour to it. It was tough to chew. I also ordered the veg low mein and it was inedible I ate a couple of veggies off the top of it and ate a noodle and threw it away. Disappointing quality of food and experience at this restaurant. Wouldn’t recommended.
The food was delicious. Quantity was good for the price .I ordered friedrice on chili chicken for 8.99+tax ... will definitely order again. .
Incredibly generous offerings for the 1 person dining combos. I was sad to see Ding-Ho go (the restaurant which occupied the space before this shop) but have been to this place 6 times now and it's pretty consistent. Paying $12 after tax for a big box of fried rice and meat with light veg and a soft drink is becoming unheard of in the city, the downtown prices have crept into Scarborough and it's rough. I'll continue coming here, yet to be disappointed. Staff is all family and pretty friendly as well, reminds me of growing up with friends who helped at their parents' shops. I'd like to see them get more attention so they stick around the neighborhood, for my own laziness to cook somedays and for the sake of my pocket. (Pictured: BBQ Chicken Combo)
I was really looking forward to trying some Hakka food, but unfortunately, this place missed the mark. I ordered the chilli chicken dry and Lollipop Chicken, and both dishes were a letdown. Right away, I noticed a strong, stale flavor in both the oil tasted like it had been reused one too many times, which overshadowed everything. The Lollipop Chicken had a nice crispy texture but ended up tasting more like a standard fried drumstick with only a slight hint of spice. The sauce they served on the side was actually pretty good, but it couldn t fully rescue the dish. As for the chilli chicken, it was even worse the taste of that overused oil was impossible to ignore, and it was just plain unpleasant. I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but I just couldn t get past that oily aftertaste. I d suggest this spot take a bit more care with their ingredients, especially the oil, which makes all the difference!
The portion is really big, ordered chilly chicken with rice from DoorDash and picked up in store. Good value. Taste is really good too.
The general tao has a very bad taste and after taste. Im not too sure if this food was prepared carefully.. beware eating from here *update* woke up sick today. Thanks !
Tried the bogo chili chicken combo and like a previous comment made the rice to meat portion was underwhelming but what really upset me is I asked for gravy/sauce (wet) and they gave me the driest chili chicken Ive ever experienced and it wasnt spicy at all and I feel because it was so dry the flavor was also underwhelming so overall I was disappointed with the taste of the food but I did make special requests in the Uber eats app and they fulfilled it so the service is great but I wish the food experience matched.
Food is good but please increase portion of meat!! Too much rice compared to meat.
The waiting time is really long at this place. Plus the food isnt always fresh. I wouldnt recommend
Nice little family owned business located on the Lawrence strip. The woman was very kind and friendly. The food was fresh and the portions were generous. Will go back again next time Im in Toronto. Hopefully they will stay consistent with it.
Ordered chilli chicken dry and noodles (spicy) The food was amazing.... The green chillies added so much flavour.....the portion was great..... definitely ordering from here again....the noodles had veggies the chicken chilli was superb Food

Ordered the chili chicken and fried rice via Uber Eats. It was a BOGO offer which might be related to the reason I took a star off. Overall good, I would say its a 3.5/5 for me. Pros: the food was good, would have liked a little more of a kick considering they have the option to make things more spicy for a $1.00 upcharge on ubereats. I did not consider the chicken spicy at all. That being said the flavour was there otherwise. Cons: the portion of chicken that I received was a little surprising. This was a BOGO offer via the app so I dont know if that impacted the portion of each individual item but it was like 85% fried rice and 15% chicken. Within the takeout I got, I would say there were maybe 6-8 pieces of chicken with some smaller pieces that were negligible. Ended up having to take smaller bites of the already small pieces of chicken in order to preserve enough to last long enough to finish the rice.

This was a delicious joint that I found by surprise. Meals are generous and packed with flavour. Where can you find delicious meals by only 10 bucks! Definitely will be back

Delicious Hakka food with an extensive menu is a hallmark of this new spot in Scarborough. The chili chicken with rice was delicious and prepared fresh-to order. Portion sizes are massive for the price - you certainly get your moneys worth, and the food isnt overly salted, spicy or seasoned which is a big plus. This is primarily a takeout spot as there are limited facilities for dining-in. They do offer a cash deal on some lunch specials and service is generally fast, which is great for a quick meal on-the-go. Definitely recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner! Affordable prices! Had the chili chicken and it was amazing!
Chicken pakora is really good, generous about if chicken and pakoras. Chicken wonton soup was good, but it would be nicer is the wontons had more then a marble sized piece of chicken. Crispy ginger chicken was good! The kids working here were friendly. There is 2 tables but I d say this is more of a take out place. Only complaint- The 2 cans of Diet Coke expired in July 2023, it s now Feb 2024

A small, family-owned place where food is prepared on order and tastes wonderful. The quantity is more than enough for one person when very hungry. And the prices are really affordable too. Give them a try and you wont be disappointed.
Maybe should have someone that pays attention to details especially allergies reasons, spend $35 on an order thats not even close to what I wanted, then call back to get the same kid and explain to him and what happened, his response was I FORGOT Im sorry but I wish ding ho was around. I hope people see this and think twice about this place!!!!! *******UPDATE******** I really appreciate the fact, they called me back and apologized, I went back the next today and they kept theyre word. I really appreciate this. Ill see you guys again, the food was really good.
