We love staying at this hotel as the hotel staff and rooms are excellent but the food at Hemispheres is disappointing to say the least. I have stayed several times and each time I am so disappointed with the quality of the breakfasts. I have tried the breakfast buffet on a few occasions and then tried the a la carte menu and the blueberry pancakes were stodgy and tasteless. My husband ordered poached eggs and got easy over eggs. This time I tried the continental buffet and fruit choices were slim ( 3 melons, pineapple and whole apples) and miniature pastries were less than grocery store quality and only one muffin choice that I didn’t try. For 24.00 I felt it was way over priced. For the first time I ate supper here as well, unfortunately they don’t open the dining room, you can only get dinner in the bar. We ordered a Margherita pizza which had literally 2 slices of tomato cut in half and a small few slivers of basil with a premade pizza sauce and cheap mozzarella. The fish tacos were soggy and cilantro and onion forward. The chicken wings were ok. I won’t return to Hemispheres and will find somewhere else to eat in the vicinity. We even discussed finding a new place to stay that offers decent food that matches the accommodations.
We had supper at Hemisphere. The waiter was a good salesman. The calamaris were excellent as he suggested but the 8oz new york AAA centre cut was a thin overdone steak and the fries were not homemade as the waiter promised. The good pinot wine compensated our disappointing meal.
It’s got a great atmosphere being convenient at the hotel. The service was swift and excellent. The food however was a bit expensive. I also found that the burger had too much grease since the bottom of the bun became liquid while eating so I was basically just holding the patty. The fries were okay. I was starving so I enjoyed it but did find the bun situation rough to deal with. The drinks are quite expensive.
It's really nice and relaxing, we went for dessert even though we live in Toronto, and it's nice to eat at a hotel to feel like you're on vacation.
Convenient while staying at Double tree, but what a terrible customer service at this hotel. Food is good, but not worth the price. Caesar salad was pre-mixed since couple hours at least, wilted lettuce wasn't that appetizing. The steak plate could step up a bit
The restaurant is a real convenience if you are staying in the hotel and do not want to go out to eat. The staff are really helpful and accommodating and the food is good as well!
The food and service were very good. I had a scallop and shrimp starter, which was really creative and delicious. My Moroccan chicken was also very good. The servers were very knowledgeable about food recommendations and very friendly.
Here for breakfast while staying in the hotel. Crazy high prices for continental buffet with only mediocre food. I ordered a la carte bagel with avocado and smoked salmon. For $20, apparently I have to make it myself. Tasted good but high price for not a lot.
I ordered the rib eye steak as per the water recommendation, very tasty!!
Great restaurant staff. Small but tasty menu. Reynaldo was a wonderful help with our business event.
Great restaurant have been coming here for 15 years Kiri is the best waiter. Food is always good. Never any issues
Stopped over for a quick pint at the bar, decent pricing and good ambience
Loved this place, good food, not cheap. Great staff. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible Food : 5/5 |
Excellent service. We came in with our 10 month old and the staff were lovely and so attentive to her. Everyone was extremely friendly and we had a great meal on a snowy day!
I am writing a review as I dine. The service was horrible. The waiter didnt bring me any water UNTIL my food came! I kept asking for water since I had to take one of my meds on an empty stomach. Food was just ok. I wont be back ! I will venture out the hotel to eat for the remainder of my stay. Waiter didnt check on me once. UPDATE: I had no choice but to order from the bar in the evening. That was good , ordered twice and waitstaff that brought my food to my room was nice
Hotel breakfast buffet (really underwhelming Nice service
A bit overpriced for what it is, if you are taking on a la Carte they are going to charge you 4 dollars for the coffee. Service was excellent and very attentive.
I love rhe food It was good
Very attentive staff, maybe a bit too attentive. Nice seating area for dinner. Important part is the food, being that it was ok, the steak wine sauce had a lot to be desired, came across sour, but the steak was cooked properly, chicken was a bit dry as well, for the price you are paying, I wouldnt say its worth it. 3.5 stars for me
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to entre the restaurant
Two drinks and a cheese board came to 90 dollars. The service was slow and a little rude. The drinks were good - one was just a can so its hard to mess up - but the cheese board was honestly embarrassing for the price.
Great lunch
very quick service, in and out within about 40 minutes. very nice wait staff, amazing service. food was amazing!! my boyfriend had the salmon, and I had the steak with parmesan fries and I have never had better food! this was the best meal i ve had. we came back the next morning for breakfast, and it was good too but not as good as the dinner
Tall pours of wine. Our water glasses were never empty. Food was delicious Wait staff was great
Wonderful staff, great food!
Ordered the steak and fries with chimmi churri butter and was perfect!
If you have a chance to go, have the pan seared scallops and shrimp on a bed of cauliflower puree and crisp apple slivers. The best thing I have tasted in a very long time!!!
!The host and service was good
Great service and very friendly staff. Good atmosphere and the food looked great (we will be eating there tomorrow night.) Worth it just to stop in and see Raphi behind the bar!
Good food and friendly staff. Good option for those staying at the Hotel. Parking: Hotel parking paid.
Unpleasantly loud due to constant clattering of plates. Food was underwhelming. There was only finishing salt on the table. Waiter never checked up on us.
Really testy soup, bad test on burger nice waiters they must clean the Restaurant
The staff was accomodating. The prices were outrageous and the food was definitely not in line with what was being charged. I would not go back to this restaurant again.
Staying at this hotel. Awful restaurant. Absolutely no atmosphere or ambiance whatsoever. Wait staff very nice but lingered too much. It s a shame that Hilton doesn t invest in making the restaurant more inviting and less like a cafeteria.
I ordered the Alfredo penne. Delicious. Wife had the salmon dish, delicious. Wait staff very nice, very attentive. I did find it a little high priced and if Im gonna pay that much, dont hand me a paper menu haha. Had a good time overall :)
A cozy bar at Doubletree with Rafi at your service served me an excellent Freeway, his take on the old fashioned that was delicious.
Did not enjoy getting tricked into a cup of orange juice before reading the menu and realizing it was priced as it was.
very good, perfect for local takeout.
Thumbs up: - The waiter was excellent - Fruit - Coffee - Toast - Hashbrowns Thumbs down: - Scrambled eggs - Bacon - Need a variety of coffee flavours
Wow! The service here is amazing. and I am glad we did. Drinks were fast and super delicious. The service staff is extremely friendly and easy to have a conversation with!
Not bad at all
Okay experience but the food wasnt exceptional and service can be a bit brutal. I would recommend it for a quick company/business lunch but nothing more.
Leonardo, Rassi take care of everything. ..thankyou.
Delicious eggs Benedict.
Love the bahn mi sandwiches. The dipping sauce was the best part; flavourful with depths of spices and herbs, sweet and sour. Soft bun as advertised and tender chicken breasts. Perfect lunch-sized portions and exceptional, classy service.
Too bad
Greg the server was so awesome and the food was so Delish that we ate there 2 nights in a row
Excellent service the waiter was very helpful unfortunately I dont remember his name
Love the food and service!
tasty
Elegant setting. Breakfast Buffet was excellent. Crepes were perfect. Friendly professional service. Hidden gem of unassuming elegance...in our lovely, one of a kind Toronto...
Good food selections and taste, service can be slow, despite not being busy
Vegan breakfast available :)
Very good food and excellent service. I would recommend the wings, 10 oz steak, and the mango sorbet. I enjoyed the food, and the wait was very short.
Great food and fast service
Great Food and Drinks - The chefs are amazing!
Staff are very very very rude, some are friendly, but most of then arent. This restaurant is defenitely treating residents placed by the Canadian Red Cross in a terrible way, they were offered free meals because their building was on fire. They put a set of times&unhealthy meal choices for them, fried chicken&fries for kids every single day, chicken & rice for adults every day. Imagine if you had no choice but to be late for dinner because of work, then u sleep hungry. Same for breakfast that starts at 9A.M right when work starts, and lunch that ends at 2:30pm. 1500 residents were evacuated from their building, and instead of others sympathizing & understanding, they make life even harder.
Good service and good food.
Wow! Wow! Wow! The service here is amazing. We stopped in here because our flight was delayed, and I am glad we did. Drinks were fast and super delicious. The service staff is extremely friendly and easy to have a conversation with! Will definitely come here again when in Toronto.
Excellent food and great service. Jenny at the front desk is an absolute gem!
5 star service, very attentive and friendly servers. The restaraunt is actually inside the Hilton. We got the Bangkok salad and the fire cracker salad. Portion size is good, however i did think that the flavors could have been stronger.
Chef really knows how to cook a salmon perfectly. Delicious!
Excellent food and service!! We were extremely impressed this past week when we came for our friends wedding dinner!! Look forward to coming back in future!
Service was not bad. Soup was disappointing. But the mains were tasty. Opinions will vary. This is not a 5 star hotel restaurant but rather a comfortable bar/eating establishment. I wouldnt celebrate my birthday here but after a long drive with the family this is a great place to eat at the end of a travel day.
Food was ok. Good atmosphere. Good service
Food was mediocre and the beer/wine/bourbon selection was lacking
I have only had the breakfast buffet, which was ok but lacked anything different. Friendly staff. Manager was great.
When we arrived at the hotel, we went for drinks and an appetizer. We had the crispy cheesy garlic bread! It was delicious! We toured the town and came back for supper. my husband had the 8oz striploin and i had the lamb chops! Both were amazingly delicious. Actually the best lamb I have eaten. I must also mention, our waiter Chris, knows his stuff, he provides excellent service!!! Makes the experience that much better!!! If we are in Toronto again, will definetly be back to this hotel and restaurant!! :-)
We had a great meal - Richard Trus reviewer
Food was decent, wait staff were extremely nice and friendly. Only thing was when I asked the hostess for a table for one, she asked me if I was looking for the Chinese restaurant upstairs...
It vybz. Surprisingly not racist.
