West Africa dishes (From Côte d'Ivoire & Sénégal)
Food is always amazing. Interior decor and vibe are awesome. Service is great. Sometimes they’re slower than usual, which is normal for any restaurant. Overall, I’m always satisfied with my orders although they’re a bit pricey.
Was quite impressed with the food, service and ambiance. I generally have low expectations of service when it comes to African restaurants but these guys were on point! Menus within seconds of seating instead of having to wait. Orders taken within ten minutes of seating. Food came 20 minutes later. We were in and out in under an hour! I had the goat. Friend had the seabass. We both cleaned off the plate. We both ordered Guinness beer and noticed the French labeling so they paid attention to detail. Perfect for families and date night. There were two families with babies and young children and other couples on date night so it was an interesting mix.
Fantastic experience. Never had food from Ivory Coast before and that was a delight. But the service and the skill of the chef made it in an amazing experience.
A great hidden gem of a restaurant! I went with a group and we were all happy with our orders. I got the grilled sea bass with a side of fried plantain and two homemade sauces. The sea bass was so delicious and well-seasoned. I also got a West Explosion to go, which is a peanut stew with rice and plantain. It's great to have a West African (Ivorian, to be specific) restaurant in the Mt. Pleasant area. I'll definitely be coming back! Merci beaucoup, Instant du palais :)
Went here for the first time with my mom and partner. The service was great! We had the Okra stew, grilled seabass, and goat meat. Everything was amazing. I would order any of these dishes again. The high google review of 4.9 stars is not inflated. I will be back.... likely multiple times.
This is the best West African restaurant in Toronto !! I’ve been here twice, and truely recommend beef with attiéké and the long plate(sorry, forgot the name😭). If you like to drink, hibiscus cocktail would be awesome. Also, The server and the owner was very nice :)
We went there in a rush cause we didn't have enough time as our bus was leaving soon from Toronto. But they were really understanding, and the service was so great ! They made us suggestions about meal that doesn't take too long to cook and guess what ? We were early for our bus !!! And the food was so so tasty ! The price for the quality was great ! We didn't finish all of our plate, the quantity was large ! Instant du palais is an absolutely must try if you are in Toronto ❤️
Wow wow wow. The food is excellent, beyond your expectations. I had the seabass with attieke and omg. Braised to perfection, crispy where it's needed, moist, juicy seasoned to perfection. The attieke was okay. My friends had the Tilapia and chicken and they all loved it that I will order that next time. Great selection of drinks too. The bissap mojito is so good, I had zero goumin and loved the fact it was a little spicy, like a touch of it enough to tickle your tongue and didn't ruin the other ingredients and perfect to awaken ones appetite. Now I can't wait to try out their brunch menu. Totally recommend
A friendly atmosphere, a warm welcome, congratulations to the chef because the dishes are super well seasoned, the tiepe rice is a real treat, it can even be eaten without accompaniment to do it again, I loved it
Ive been looking for a place to try some authentic West African dishes and Instant du Palais certainly fits the description! The tilapia and goat are my personal favorites but you cant go wrong with some of their other options. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and service, great location and atmosphere. It is not easy to find an Ivorian restaurant in toronto and a good one at that!
Im an out-of towner who is visiting my friend here. I never write online reviews, good or bad; but dinner last night at Instant du Palais was probably my favorite dining experience in Toronto so I am happy to add my (rare) opinion. I ordered thieb chicken. The chicken, the rice, the cabbage, the carrots, the cassava, everything, all so delicious. The spicy pepper sauce packs the heat and is wisely served on the side for cautious spice-wimps like myself. I wish I could describe all of this more uniquely but dont know how else to say it other than it tasted just amazing. The serving size was large so bring your appetite. My friend and I split an order of alloco (friend plantain) which perfectly complimented our entrèes. I also enjoyed a very good mojito bissap with my meal. The atmosphere was clean and quiet, and the space itself is tastefully appointed. The best thing of all, though, was the service: friendly, attentive, subtle, and thorough. This is the kind of restaurant Im proud to support, and I really am looking forward to eating here the next time I visit Toronto.
The goat was delicious!
I traveled all the way from New York to Toronto just to try and I would do it all over again. The BEST, everything was perfect from the food to the service.
It is a great restaurant I will go back with my family and friends I recommend the goat meats.
They have the best desserts!
Walked in for dinner and very happy to have found this spot! I enjoyed the goat as well at the plantain and avocado starter, both were very flavourful!
Great spot, unique and good food. Good atmosphere and staff, super cozy!
Food was amazing!!
I have been here multiple times and each time the dishes we have had have been phenomenal. I really recommend the goat! Really good service and a very cozy family run restaurant. Highly recommend for anyone who likes to eat delicious food! Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair available if needed.
Awesome food and incredible hospitality. Well worth trying a new cuisine.
One of tastiest fish Ive ever had. The goat was also really delicious. Everything was full of flavor just to the point Food
Best West African spot in Toronto! The attieke with chicken was so flavourful. The place is nicely decorated as well. Thanks so much for having us.
I went to get takeout to celebrate my 14 year Cancerversary and was not disappointed. I am gluten-free and had the grilled chicken and plantain and did not have any cross contamination. The chicken was moist and succulent and the sauce that came with it was delicious and unlike anything I ve ever tasted. I had the hibiscus [also known as sorrel in some parts of the Caribbean] drink and it was excellent. The plantain was done well, and although it was fried it wasn t greasy. I will definitely return.
Awesome food, so flavorful. Went there on a Saturday afternoon with a large group of friends, 3 couples, 2 kids. Every dish was impeccable and lots of attention given to dietary restrictions. The chef and owner stopped by to greet us. Definitely coming back Vegetarian options: West explosion
The most delicious goats meat ever. I keep going back for it and I cant wait for my next visit
Everything we ate was excellent! We are looking forward to eat their dishes! Rest assure that you will see us when we go to Toronto
We were a mid-sized group crashing this neighbourhood restaurant on a Monday night, and wow! The food was amazing~ Hard to find an authentic African restaurant in this neighbourhood, and IDP has got great options for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. We had the goat, chicken, tuna tail and the peanut stew, and they were all very flavourful. They just started doing dinner service on Monday and they were short-staffed, so the food took a little long to come out but Im sure thats just a blip. The cook/owner, Fabiola, came out to apologize and made it right by us, which was such a nice touch. Highly recommend you check this place out!
Food was incredible. We had 3 different dishes and tasted each others. Each dinner was so unique and flavourful. I think they will need to move to bigger space but hope they stay in the neighbourhood
Love the food and music .pure Afro vibes . Anderson was a wonderful server too. Food
A warm welcome, bilingual service and of course excellent cuisine! I recommend this restaurant 100% if you want to eat African food in Toronto. What a delight!
The food was excellent!!
The owner is super welcoming. His smile makes you want to stay. The cuisine keeps all its promises. The quantities are reasonable. I especially appreciated the fact that the dishes were not too salty. Hat!
It was my first time at Instant du Palais. We had the grilled tilapia and grilled goat, which were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Looking forward to going back to try the rest of the menu!
Great food
The fish n fried (alloco) tasted so good
Great food! Highly recommend trying
Plantain waffle was amazing!
The food here was atrocious , I don t know what all the good reviews are about. Did we have another chef that night? Food was that disgusting, that I couldn t force myself to eat it, I tried my best because I knew it costs money, but was unsuccessful. The worst food I ve ever tried in my life
Great place !! The food is amazing, and the owner is such a wonderful person, smiling to every single clients and Willing to share her culture. Our food was ready within 30 minutes. I had the grilled goat and my husband had the thieb. I went a 2nd time and Unfortunately they dont make the mango crepe dessert no more. Always a pleasure to come back anyway!
This restaurant is a gem in Toronto. We tried every single dish on the menu and were amazed. The service is top and you can say that the owner is very affectionate. The GARBA was my fav. The restaurant is usually busy on weekends (yes we ended up becoming loyal customers), so I recommend going there on weekdays. 10/10
Greatest restaurant of Toronto. The food is excellent OMG. A little beautiful and warm place to spent time in Family. Huge kuddos to the staff. Fatima was our waitress and helped us with recommandations. The owner/ manager is very friendly and shared the story behind the restaurant with us. Very inspiring. I recommand the waff-alloco (appetizer), a mix of sweet and salty. Anyways. Its Green check for me. The francophone West African side is well represented..
I immediately went to the palace it was so good... even my daughter who doesnt have much of an appetite... finished my plate of placali... really good...
Really one of the best restaurant that I ve tried so far. Really a must try if you come to Toronto
The welcome was great, the food was great, everything was great, I highly recommend it.
It was truly a palace moment! Im in Toronto for 1 week, this is the second time Im going there and I plan to go back before returning!! I recommend!
The ambience, the food everything was beyond perfection .. The customer service was exceptional If you re in Toronto definitely check this place out
Instant Du Palais was an incredible introduction to Senegalese cuisine. From the atmosphere to the service it all exceeded my expectations! The grilled sea bass and the goat were absolutely delicious. The owner Fabiola was so kind to come out to speak to us as well. Can t wait to visit again!
Came here to try some a Senegalese jollof and it didn t disappoint. Food was amazing and the owner was very sweet. The Goat meat was delicious
My friends and I drove from Quebec just to discover the restaurant. It is an excellent place to discover West African gastronomy. I was surprised by the quality of the service, we did not wait long to be served. The toilets? I have never seen such clean and maintained toilets. I recommend this place
My husband and I ate really well at your restaurant, and the service was fast and impeccable. Thanks again, we cant wait to come back when we visit Toronto again.
I was beyond impressed about the taste of the food. Everything we took was delicious. We took fish, goat meet, chicken, alloco, placali, pastel. I recommend it eyes closed!!! The place to go when you are in Toronto, no doubt. Praying on the day, Instant du Palais will open in Québec city Food
Love love love this place! 100% recommended.
The food and service was incredible, must try.
Wow! The food here was FANTASTIC and the entire staff are so friendly! The chef was so kind to come say hello, impeccable cooking. 100% must try and I will be returning :)
The food is really good, the atmosphere is nice and the dishes are hearty. I highly recommend
Best Ivorian restaurant in Toronto and North America. The Grilled Chicken is cooked to perfection with the attieke and alloco. Portions are generous as well. Customer service is A1 as well. Would 200% recommend to anyone visiting Toronto or in Toronto.
Thank you very much for this meal. We came from New Brunswick and we ate well. Thank you for this meal. I asked for my fish with its head on, it was juicy as can be. The fish disappeared when finished. Even the edges almost passed through
Everything was good especially the food.
Very nice restaurant, the food is super good Beautiful atmosphere
I highly recommend. The first thing to highlight is the excellent customer service, worthy of a starred restaurant. Very important to me. The food was perfect. Everything was well done and delicious. We have eaten well. I will go back again, and again, for as long as Im around. My friends and family are already and will remain your customers. I will see to it. Courage guys! Moctar De La Vega
I loved absolutely everything, especially the sweet chili Parking: I didnt count
As good as it is beautiful, I highly recommend. We really enjoyed the meals, my daughter was full of praise for them. During our stay in Toronto this was our getaway to Babi. Thank you Fabiola
Great food and good service!
The servers were lovely and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and has a warm, family feel. The peanut stew is crave-worthy. I love a good hibiscus drink and this one didn t disappoint with lovely fruity and sweet notes. Overall a great experience that I will repeat with my friends and family as often as possible. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten and dairy-free options.
We had a wonderful experience at this lovely restaurant. The food was flavourful and on point. Will be back!
Food here was really good, loved the Thieb Fish. Staff were also super nice. Would recommend!
Tasty okra stew and yummy degue. Keep up the good work
A coworker recommended me Instant du palais I had spicy goat and plantains the food was so tasty I recommend any one in G.T.A to give it a try you won t regret it.
The Restaurant is beautiful and very clean. We were warmly received. The food is excellent.
Some of the best food I ve had! We got the beef pastels and goat meat with seasoned rice and both were so delicious. Would definitely go again.
This was first on my to do list when coming to Toronto. I came all the way from Ottawa and let me tell you that the Food worth every hour, every minute and every second. I took chicken, plantin and Rice. Very delicious eumazing
My girl friends and I went hoping to get some food to remind us of the motherland (Africa) but we got way more than that. It felt like being invited at a friends house; very cozy. The owner was there to greet us and even agreed to turn of the AC for a few minutes to make us even more comfortable. Bravo a toute lequipe!
My palate was really not disappointed. She cooks incredibly well.
Very disappointed. The dishes have nothing to do with what is on your website. Questionable cooking, very small portions, djolof rice not spicy, fish not braised but rather cooked
excellent service and food, everything was so fresh and flavourful! highly recommend:)
We loved it! It s rare to find West African fare in Toronto and as two diners who worked in the region for years, we were so happy to find such delicious Thieboudienne. We can t wait to go back to try the yassa and mafé next. It s also a cute spot with kind service.
Good restaurant. Great food and tasty. Fabiola (the owner) is amazing. You will enjoy for sure. Special advice for the Goat meat
Great experience, it feels like home I recommend this place
Great experience, feels like home, I highly recommend this restaurant
A group of 6 of us went on Sunday evening and had a lovely experience. None of us were familiar with food from the Ivory Coast, but all of us really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Western Explosion, which is mafé (a delicious peanut stew) served with rice, vegetables and fried plantain. Its vegetarian (no meat), but the waitress offered to have some goat meat added for one of my friends. It also came with a very spicy hot sauce. Servings are generous and 3 of my friends took home leftovers. I would definitely go again!
The food was amazing been so long I wanted to go and try, I heard so much about this restaurant and I understand why OMG! The staff were so friendly we had such a good time. The cocktail was sweet and nice loveddd it (cherry paradise). The appetizer waff-alloco wooow anyone reading this you need to try!!! The main was so good. Such a good experience I ll definitely come back.
Good service, great atmosphere, amazing dishes 10/10. This is truly the restaurant he thinks it is
I went to the restaurant once again! This time I got tilapia/attieké, oh my gosh AMAZING!!!!! the little sauce on the fish is delicious and attieké is just a must if you want to try an Ivorian dish. Let me tell you: you WILL come back to test all the other meal lol. Se my pictures haha there is nothing left on the plate
Everything is top notch! A real delight. The reference in Toronto! Ive been back three times now and I wouldnt hesitate to come back. Give them strength and go visit them! Vegetarian options: Discover the veggie mafé, it s so good!
Trust me guys, you want to eat there and if youve never tried west African food before, heres your time to shine . La gérante Fabiola est exceptionnelle, une femme battante qui propose des mets typiquement ouest africains. Faites-y un tour, vous men direz des nouvelles. I went there in March oh myyy. The food was on point, everything was good I ate so much and took some to go. Everyday I wish they were here in NYC. Go enjoy their delicacies, you need Instant du Palais in ya life.
I ate very well. I highly recommend l Instant du Palais!!!
Authentic blend of west african food. Guinea. ivory coast, senegal and so on. Outstanding. This restaurant brought back so many memories.
Our third time going now, really consistently fantastic food you can t get anywhere else in the city. Highly recommend!
While in Toronto, my wife wanted to try the restaurant because she followed the page on Instagram. Easy to access, I loved my braised fish with its accompaniment. Sorry too hungry I forgot to take the dish, but I will at least have the facade. Thanks for the attieke
Super friendly staff and a real authentic taste. Tansports you to a far off land. Highly recommend.
I promised myself I would stop by this restaurant when I was in Toronto and I was not disappointed. The dishes were excellent and plentiful. Well seasoned and spicy as I requested. As for this cocktail, a real delight. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend it if youre looking for a bit of West African flavor in a beautiful setting.
I totally recommend this place, best food, best cocktail, The service was also great Food
Stop by this restaurant if you are looking for something new and fresh . Ivorian food is very well represented in Toronto.
We had a wonderful time at Instant du Palais. We tasted Yassa and Garba and food was so delicious. Fabiola, the owner of the restaurant is such a great host. Thank you again for having us
I loved my visit to Instant du Palais. The goat soup that I ate was perfect, well seasoned, the meat cooked to perfection and spiced to perfection just like at home. I also had the chance to taste a dessert that made me melt. It was the BEST OF. Hats off to the team!
Very nice place to eat African dishes! The meals were delicious and the alloco waffle is killer . My husband and I will go back every time we come to Toronto
Great place for West African food. We had the beef suya and the yassa with rice. Both dishes were delicious. We will definitely go back there for food.

Very nice place. The food is good, the vibes were there and the host is wonderful. Would definitely recommend it to a group looking for a place to eat good and enjoy. Very nice place. The food is good, the vibes were there and the host is wonderful. I would definitely recommend it to a group looking for a place to eat well and enjoy.
Too much maggi and salt in food. Too much cube and salt in the food
Delicious food! the peanut stew was my favourite. Grilled seabass was prepared perfectly. Food : 5/5
Very good experience ! Great cocktails and African food . Must try in the area
Very good Bissap
we were passing through Toronto (from Ottawa) and we went to try it, we were so satisfied haha we had taken an extra dish to take away we ended up tasting it there on site, its really good (and were even jealous not being able to enjoy this in Ottawa haha)
Hands down the best Franco-African restaurant in Toronto. It goes beyond the food, the vibes over there always great, especially when the owner/chef Fabiola is in the building ! The size of the meals are worth the prize, and everything tastes heavenly! Bravo !
Best food in Town guys!! Just amazing . I went to the restaurant with my family , and my daughter who generally don t eat nothing , ate her whole plate . Everything was fresh and so tasty. The goat was super tender and My husband crushed on the grilled tilapia . We had a great experience at this place. I will definitely be back.
My family and I were craving Attieke and came across Instant du Palais! We looked at photos through their instagram and also read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered the food and went to pick up. When we arrived, we paid cash($100 and our bill was $99) the cashier didn t have $1 change, making us spend an extra $2 to buy a drink which was annoying but not that big of a deal. When we reached home, the first thing we tried was the Tilapia which was STALE. From the first bite, you could tell that it was NOT FRESH. But nonetheless, we spent $100 on this food and didn t want it to go to waste. The next morning, everyone who ate the food was vomiting and had bad diarrhea. I personally would never eat from here again and if you do plan on ordering from here, please please please be careful! I see that you ve replied to my review and I wish I could reply but I can t so I have to edit my review. Firstly, it was more than just one order, we ordered multiple things and got sides as well, and the grand total came up to $99. Secondly, when we paid, we were told that you had no change and that the drinks were $3, and we had to add $2 more on top of the $100 bill. Thirdly, it was most definitely your restaurant and this is just MY personal experience of it. There s no harm in sharing with story and the experience that I had with Instant Du Palais. Thank you!
Very tasty !! I recommend. Food
Good experience, Must try if you go by Toronto !
Excellent cuisine, impeccable service. Nothing to say 10/10
Toronto absolutely needed this address! I m beyond proud that our beloved traditional dishes are now available there, with the innovative touch of IDP but keeping their authenticity. Nice for warming the hearts of those who know and miss this west african kitchen and also for offering a great experience to the keens of culinary discovery!
good Wheelchair accessibility: Good poient Food : 5/5 |
I had west african food for the first time and the food was very delicious. The service was good too. Loved the chicken, sauces and plantain.
I went to instant du palais to Try their brunch and What can I say??? The experience was beyond What I expected. Customer service on point , and you can tell the innovative Work behind each dish. It s something totally different from all the brunches that we uses to see in Toronto. You must try the shrimp Avocada.
Wheelchair accessibility: The food was delicious, I will definitely have to come back! Thank you Fatimah and Junior for your awesome service Food
Unassuming little restaurant. Everything had so much flavour, you take one bite and you instantly crave the next. Good size portions. Everyone in my party loved it. Very attentive and friendly service. 100% would recommend, cant wait to go back.
Went today for dinner with my son. We came across it by accident and are SO glad we did. The food is INCREDIBLE. The staff are INCREDIBLE. Overall, a wonderful Ivory Coast restaurant that I never knew I needed!!!! I do!!!

Food is so flavorful!
This is a great West African restaurant if you want to discover what we eat. The food is absolutely delicious. Attieke is a must, the thieb was amazing and the bissap on point . Amazing and tasty food 5 star
Food was incredible the host was wonderful and friendly highly recommend
I saw this place on tiktok, and I promised myself to visit it when I go to Canada. The food was finger leaking good. The spices were on point. We ordered 2 Garba and 1 Tchèp and we waited about 15 minutes. The owner is a wonderful young lady. She kept checking on us to make sure we were okay. There is absolutely no way Im visiting Toronto again without going to this spot. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options to chose from Parking: We didnt have any problem finding a parking spot. Maybe because of the time we visited the restaurant (6pm)
The day when I came by, there was a gentleman who was serving the floor. He had difficulty managing the tables and guests and our wait for beverages was longer than expected. The food was excellent.
THIS IS THE BEST AFRICAN RESTAURANT IN TORONTO I WAS WELL RECEIVED I ATE WELL IT WAS AMAZING

Yesterday, I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Instant du Palais and everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere was perfect. We had a large group and at times we were a lot to handle but our waitress was so sweet, took everything in stride and made sure we had the best experience. I really enjoyed the alloco waffle, as an amazing appetizer, so unique!!! Their fish is sooo fresh and delicious with their seasoned rice. The goat and chicken was seasoned and had really great portions. Most of all the owner and the staff made my birthday so special!!! I can t wait to come back !

Instant Du Palais is an amazing restaurant and a must try if you are in the Toronto area! Meat was well cooked and very flavourful. The sides offered complimented the meal very well and service was top tier. They really welcome you to the culture of Ivory Coast
Hello everyone, I wanted to take a moment to warmly recommend INSTANT DU PALAIS. I had the chance to dine there this evening and I must say the experience was absolutely delicious. Each dish was a true explosion of flavor, meticulously prepared and elegantly presented. But what really made this evening unforgettable was the impeccable customer service. The staff were attentive, friendly and attentive from start to finish, which really added a special touch to our meal. If you are looking for an exceptional gastronomic experience, I can only recommend Instant du Palais. Its much more than just a meal, its a real culinary experience not to be missed!
Amazing food like
I want to start by saying that I am super white. This was an absolute revelation! My wife had the peanut stew and I had the thieb chicken. We shared the waff alloco to start. Delicious food, lovely staff, and wonderful atmosphere. A must!
Best place to taste amazing and great Ivorian and west African food !! Never disappoints. I will recommend it % .
Amazing just amazing
Very good restaurant! 10/10
Great people & Great Food
Beef suya was amazing. Go spicy - you won t regret it!
We had an absolutely amazing dinner here with two friends and we were all blown away by the meal. I had the beef suya and would highly recommend it. The beef is incredibly tender and flavourful. My husband loved the grilled chicken (I barely managed to steal a taste and can confirm it s amazing) and our vegetarian friend raved about the vegan thieb. The place is warm and comfortable and the staff is amazing. We will be back.
Deliciously authentic food and very friendly service
The food was excellent! I was able to taste the goat skewered bread, and a beef choukouya with alloco . The atmosphere was also very joyful . As mazo supporters, we witnessed the elephants victory against Mali! Big up to Fabiola, who is doing her best to spread the culture of the best country in the world. Thanks there
I do not recommend this restaurant because the customer service is non-existent, the waiting time is excessively long, there is a lack of professionalism, and the restaurant layout needs improvement. In summary: I came to this African restaurant to explore new flavors. In terms of taste, I was not disappointed; however, my friends and I waited for over an hour and a half. The lack of professionalism was evident as no staff member came to apologize for the waiting time or justify the reason for it. I had to request to speak with a waitress and then the restaurant manager (after over an hour and a half of waiting) to receive apologies and explanations. The managers justifications: - Stock shortage of certain products leading to delays in orders. - Excess of orders to manage. - Shortage of staff. As a customer, the explanations provided were neither understandable nor professional. No goodwill gesture was suggested; I had to propose the idea of receiving a goodwill gesture (e.g., a complimentary drink or dessert). Not surprisingly, like a good company that disregards customer service, they categorically refused the goodwill gesture. Lack of professionalism / Minimum 1:30 waiting time / Poor customer service is the motto of this restaurant! Finally, the layout needs to be reconsidered because, in my opinion, it is not functional at all. In the absence of being able to respond to the establishments comment, I do it here: The following establishments comment illustrates the lack of professionalism very well. Apologies obtained after more than an hour and a half of waiting seem to be a norm. Explanations provided by the restaurant manager (thanks to my complaint) after more than an hour and a half of waiting are also considered a norm. Confirming a reservation for 6 people while being aware of the catastrophic situation of the restaurant is also considered a norm. In conclusion, after more than an hour and a half of waiting, it is expected from the customer to whisper, with an additional smile, to get explanations about the state of a 6-person order. CONGRATULATIONS to you! Sorry that you didnt manage and especially didnt respond to my dissatisfaction. Best wishes, Instant du Palais! English: I do not recommend this restaurant because the customer service is non-existent, the waiting time is excessively long, there is a lack of professionalism and the layout of the restaurant needs to be reviewed. In summary: I came to this African restaurant with the aim of discovering new flavors. In terms of taste, however, I was not disappointed, my friends and I waited more than an hour and a half. The lack of professionalism was felt because no member of staff came to apologize for the waiting time or/and justify the reason for this time. I had to ask to speak with a waitress and then the restaurant manager (after more than an hour and a half of waiting) to get apologies and explanations. The restaurant manager s justifications: - Out of stock of certain products causing delays in orders. - Excess orders to manage - Lack of staff As a customer, the explanations given are neither understandable nor professional. No commercial gesture was suggested, I had to submit the idea of obtaining a commercial gesture (example: a free drink or desert). Unsurprisingly, as a good company that is disinterested in customer service, we categorically refused the commercial gesture. Lack of professionalism / Minimum 1:30 wait / Bad customer service is the motto of this restaurant! Finally the layout needs to be reviewed because in my opinion it is not at all functional.
Went there for the 1st time during AFCON. Although in my neighbourhood, never stopped by. What a gem. Food is absolutely delicious (chicken, fish or vegetarian) and spicy enough. Bissap was excellent Service was very friendly and professional. I ll come back for sure.
Wonderful evening! It had been a while that we wanted to visit this restaurant. We definitely were not disappointed and spent an amazing evening. The atmosphere is cozy and well decorated, the food is tasty and fresh, and service was great. We will be back for sure! Food
Can t recommend this place enough! Warm welcome, food and drinks were delicious, cozy atmosphere will be back!!
Love this restaurant! Ive been twice and have ordered in as well. The food is incredible. The tilapia, goat, and seasoned rice are my personal favorites but nothing on the menu is a miss. I recommend to anyone who wants flavorful food and a welcoming environment. Food
Honestly, it s a friendly and warm environment! During the CAN it was fire! There was no shortage of atmosphere! The food is great! Delicious! I even suggested chili without tomatoes for those who like spicy food, otherwise everything is there! Follow their Instagram page to see more images!@instantdupalais
Good food. Great staff. Highly recommended
Ordered garba from this place . This is THE dish to try . It was fantastic and the servers are patient and helpful . Crush on the bathrooms that are very clean !
They have the best garba in Toronto(tu as pensé que tu es à Abidjan), their grilled fish(poisson braiser) is awesome and their placali sauce gombo will get you coming back for more (especially when it cold)
Response: The chicken dish that you served us were with bones and half way through I noticed the uncooked meat and we mention it to the server immediately; the finished plate was the side dishes that came with it. I posted those pictures just for proving we was at your place. Burning color doesnt mean that chicken is properly cooked, it means just rush with high temperature without respecting the timing for fully cooked. Also on the second note, we were never provided with a written final bill for our consumption; all I got was a verbal amount which I honoured plus the tip. For your future customers will be appropriate to have a written note. First time trying African food. I appreciated the new flavors, but speaking like a person with large experience in cooking field I feel forced to give one start for huge mistake serving customers with uncooked chicken dish. I noticed the server and I received just sorry, not even the intention to replace plates.
The food is very delicious and I loved my cocktail. This is the best fish I had in Canada. Thank you and we will be back soon.
The food was so delicious I didn t get a before picture .I had the Sea-bass seasoned rice and plantains. Faviola customer service skills were great , she was pleasant and friendly.
We took the garba, the beef choukouya, the chicken and It was reallyyy good. Friendly people!! Food
After following the journey of the owner on social media, I was very set on trying this place when in Toronto. We were absolutely not disappointed. Food was delicious but you cant be in a hurry while visiting. Food is made on request. When we came some item had not been delivered yet but the next table had the opportunity to order it and they seem to really enjoy their meal. Meat is halal so great plus for muslims and the mocktails were also delicious. In a way, I am happy I dont live nearby as I would order from there way to often. What are you waiting for?
Wonderful addition to the neighbourhood. Food is an excellent way to experience different cultures and I m so pleased we tried this place. Everything we had was delicious and the service was great!
This place has great food in general. I think that the vegetarian options are lacking. There are two vegetarian mains, and Ive tried both. They are pretty generic, and I wouldnt say they are a must have. My friends did like their non-vegetarian options, so maybe this place is just not the best for vegetarians/vegans. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian mains arent that good.
The food was sooo delicious! Dietary restrictions: Halal meat Food : 5/5 |
Delicious authentic food from Ivory Coast to discover. Highly recommend!! The owners go out to their way to make you feel at home and delivery great customer service. Keep doing a great job and an excellent menu at a reasonable price.
Living in Ottawa, I always wanted to try Instant du Palais. Following Fabiolas adventures on Instagram from the start, I couldnt wait to go to Toronto to eat and especially support her and I wasnt disappointed. is INCREDIBLE, nothing to say, well eaten and well drunk, frankly proud that our culture is so well represented. Thank you Fabiola.
loved it...
Truly flavorful food. Really Enjoyed the Thieb Chicken and Beef Suya. Must go. Very underrated
Amazing food. Waffle appetizer was the star of the show and overall our experience was A+
This is by far the best African food I ve had in the city. The service and atmosphere are just hands down great. The goat meat and chicken and okra soup were chefs kiss. I am Gambian and the food was like being back home. I wish the team and owner all the best and look forward to coming back. Also for context I live one hour away and find myself here often because the food is just so good !
My friend invited me to try this beautiful Ivorian restaurant and I was just taken by cute ambience of the space. The wonder service and got my tastebud surprised with some wonder and delicious dishes. The goat meat hands down the best in the GTA (it definitely give Nigerian goat suya a run for they money) and the okra soup felt like a grandmother made it. Hands down my favourite African food in town!
My husband and I had some quality time. We ate so well and the space was very clean. We went there on the recommendation of my sister and were not disappointed. The prioprio Fabiola is a sweetheart, very welcoming, available and friendly. For the food the braised chicken accompanied by atieke and the bissap mojito were our favorite. We licked our fingers!!!! I highly recommend!!! The toilets are beautifully decorated and super clean! Its now our must-go when we go to Toronto!!
The meal and the setting are excellent. We were very well served.
Very warm and welcoming space, you eat there like you dont eat anywhere else. A very beautiful, typically Ivorian culinary experience. My favorite is in the basement, a trip to Akan country at the entrance to the toilets which shows that even the most insignificant things can be valued. Thank you moment du Palais, I will definitely go back.
This place is exceptional. I was amazed by the quality of the service and the meals. The staff there are very warm. Being from Africa I can assure you that we feel right at home. Taking a trip there just enhanced my discovery of Toronto. I prefer to warn you, have your passport because you are going to travel!
Lunch at Instant du Palais was outstanding! The food was exceptional, using fresh ingredients, and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended this restaurant for a delightful lunch or dinner experience!

This place is delicious! It s pretty new on the street but definitely worth visiting. The food is great and the vegetarian options are delicious. The thieb was particularly good!
Owner is rude, food was not very tasty

A Taste of West Africas Culinary Marvels Indulging in the vibrant flavors of West Africa is an immersive journey that we recently experienced at IDP. Nestled in the heart of Toronto, this restaurant effortlessly transports diners to the rich and diverse culinary landscape of the west African region. Upon stepping in, we were embraced by the warmth of the ambiance, exuding an authentic African charm with colorful décor and soulful rhythms. The menu, a tantalizing mosaic of West African delicacies, is a testament to the chefs dedication to preserving traditional recipes while infusing modern creativity. The feast commenced with aromatic plantain waffle a symphony of spices perfectly complemented by the savory richness of Virgin Thieb seasoned rice, each spoonful a delightful revelation. The goat meat, a succulent grilled meat dish, exuded an enticing aroma, tantalizing the taste buds with its smoky flavors and perfectly balanced seasoning. The diversity of flavors continued to captivate with dishes like fragrant West Explosion paired with aromatic peanut soup, a harmonious marriage of textures and tastes that left a lasting impression. The melt-in-your-mouth stew and the vibrant array of plantains showcased the restaurants dedication to authenticity and excellence. Moreover, the impeccable service and hospitality added an extra layer of delight to the entire dining experience. The staffs knowledge and enthusiasm in explaining each dishs origin and significance contributed to the cultural immersion, making the meal not just a feast for the palate but a journey through West Africas rich culinary heritage. Whether a connoisseur of West African cuisine or an adventurous food enthusiast seeking new flavors, IDP is an absolute gem not to be missed. Its a haven where taste buds dance, senses awaken, and cultural boundaries blur in an unforgettable celebration of West African gastronomy. Without a doubt, its a culinary adventure that I eagerly anticipate revisiting, savoring each bite and experiencing the magic once again.
The food is always perfect, love it!!
It was a pleasure to eat good food with friendly service.
For a first opening its not bad but Im sure with time everything will improve. We had a lot of fun on Saturday as a group, although of course the restaurant space is very small, there were several meal mix-ups during the service. Courage to the team over time you will improve the service. Parking: We parked on the street.
Wonderful place for West African cuisine. The goat choucoya and grilled fish were delicious. The plantain waffles were amazing as well!
Delicious food and the friendliest & warmest service! Cozy restaurant with a great vibe. Definitely worth visiting! Such a great spot. The goat and grilled tilapia dishes were incredibly tender and flavourful. The appetizer waff-alloco, plantain side, and seasoned rice were perfectly cooked too, as was the pain brochettes. Their IDP sauce is so good. Will be back :) Kid-friendliness: I believe they had a high chair available for a toddler; recommend double-checking Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at entrance for the gap
