This place has gone way down hill. Did Jaclyn sell the place? First off it wasn t even hot and I live a couple minutes away. I ve never had such bland Caribbean food in my life. Since when does chicken roti have chickpeas in it? The plantain was dripping in oil and the food had no flavour at all. Even the hot sauce wasn t even spicy. What happened? And white rice? I m so confused. Will not be coming back and I suggest if people want real Caribbean food try the Real Jerk

First time eating Caribbean food The jerk chicken was so tender and delicious and loved the coleslaw. Nice amount of heat. Great find and will definitely be back. What a great discovery.

Im just getting around to Jacklyns Carribbean Fusion Restaurant. This food, the service and Jaclyn herself is nothing short of AMAZING... I will certainly be back any time Im in town. And I encourage EVERYONE to visit her for great food, good service and great smile

I ordered from Jaclyn s once, and I don t know if it s because it was the end of the day or some other reason, but the food was tasteless and bland. Like no flavour at all. I know not everyone cooks the same, but it was really not good. With the amount of 5 star reviews I m thinking maybe it was just an off day, but it could also be that the demographic of the area isn t familiar with what good Caribbean food tastes like. Either way, I wish this business the best. The owner is lovely, but I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to a Caribbean person looking for good Caribbean food.

100% worth the drive, the jerk chicken and oxtail were amazing. The plantain reminded me of Panama (home), it was so good. Judy is lovely and so kind, best service in this city. Totally recommend, i will come back soon and often.

The taste of their oxtail is definitely one of the few better ones Ive had downtown, but for this to be $20 and labeled as large is such a slap on the face. I would not want to know what a regular size looks like.

I visited this restaurant for the first time today and had a great experience. Im quite certain I met the owner, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, coleslaw, and extra oxtail gravy on top. The addition of the jerk sauce and pepper sauce on the side elevated the flavors even more. The food looked so good that I couldn t resist diving in before even trying to take a picture. Every bite was bursting with flavor, making it a great meal. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking delicious and authentic cuisine. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their dishes.

Small restaurant that offers excellent Caribbean cuisine. The dishes are deliciously spicy and full of flavor. Possibility of enhancing your meat dish with rice, vegetables, coleslaw but also plantains (the latter are to die for). The quantities are gargantuan favor the regular portion which is already enormous! So even if Jaclyn forgot a dish for us (we went back), the kindness of the staff and the generosity of the dishes are clearly worth the detour.

Oxtail was alllllll fat and had an old smell to it Acceptable for the yt ppl of the beaches but compared to anything else in the city in terms of Caribbean food...lol $50 something for 2 dinners that werent even fresh or made properly is outrageous

Jerk is great! Portions generous too. Rice isn t too heavily seasoned which I like considering jerk is usually fairly salty to begin with. Edit: originally my review was 4-star, but I had my second half of my portion with the oxtail gravy which is incredible! Bumped up to 5!

Excellent staff, place is clean, the food over all is good. I prefer their stew beef and their soups most but they have a other good choice of options. The only negative to this restaurant is limited dine in sitting available (2-4 stools at a bar table) so more of a take out spot. Overall a good restaurant but dont take my word for it... Try it yourself!! Vegetarian options: Fish, steam veggies, curry potatoes and my favorite is their coleslaw Parking: Paid street parking. Depending on the day and time there can be a slight issue to get a spot or might take a little until one is available.

Are your kidding me? I ordered take out and had fried chicken with a crunch. KFC hasnt even figured this out yet! The chicken was tender, crisp and well seasoned. The oxtail was cooked perfectly! Tender but not fall off the bone. It couldve used more seasoning but thats a personal preference. The rice and peas were cooked perfectly and smothered in gravy. The slaw was not drenched in mayo ans they also threw in a coconut water for me. Im going in person soon to meet and thank the owner, theyre real gems. Amazing taste and great value! A true gem in a city of mediocrity at times.

Quite simply one of the best Caribbean take out spots in the city. The staff and the food are both amazing. Make sure you try the soup, whether it be beef or red peas soup it tastes just how your Nana would make it. Everything is made fresh, nothing sitting out so be prepared to wait for the greatness you will taste. 10/10

Muy Rico! Con las 3 B Bueno, bonito y barato. I had the boneless chicken jerk and the fried chicken with rice. They offered to put gravy on the rice which made it even more delicious. Everything was excellent, the food, the service and the atmosphere. I was looking at their plants while waiting for my order. At the end they made sure I had everything I asked for. The portions are amazing for what you pay. The hot sauce is very good but because Im Mexican the amount was to small for me.

ordered, large jerk chicken. comes with a side of gravy. nice portion of meat. maybe too spicy for some people, but good for me. loses a star for getting too pricey. its now 20 bucks for a boneless jerk chicken. I know theres inflation and high rent, but once something hits 20 bucks, i usually have second thoughts to find better value.

We come here when we want a good home cooked meal that doesn t require us to cook this place is everything you need and more. The rotis are HUGE and DELICIOUS, the jerk chicken and curry chicken with rice and peas is our favourite go to (the coleslaw is also perfection) and don t forget to stop in for coco bread and a patty for lunch or a quick bite! Also they re super nice

I am so disappointed but it s a good thing. I came here about a year ago and absolutely loved it. I have been looking forward to eating here again ever since I found out I was coming back to The History. I looked it up today and found out they are closed on Monday I m crushed! Oh well, definitely try this place out. It is absolutely amazing. Hopefully I get back to Toronto soon so I can get some awesome oxtails and patties.

It was my first time trying Jaclyns and it wont be my last. Personally, I really loved the fantastic oxtail with chunky meats on it. Jerk chicken was great of course, it was well marinated and also goes so well with the rice. If you love caribbean food, you can tell how good the resto is by checking their coleslaw I believe. Jaclyns has the most delicious coleslaw in the town. Make sure you get extra.

We chose Jaclyn s for my daughter s baptism and it was a HIT. We had her cater jerk chicken, bbq chicken, fried chicken, macaroni pie, patties, rice and peas, coleslaw, plantain, and fish. All the food was delivered super hot and for the cold food very chilled. It was such a big success that we had to call her to see if she could bring more food! And she did! We were so happy to choose her team for this special event, especially with it being on a Sunday. Jaclyn was such a pleasure to work with and was so accommodating in every request. Vanessa really cares about her customers and the food she serves. She s a very kind person and the world really needs more people like her. We frequently stop by to grab dinner or a snack and they are just great small business to support.

Its OK but not the best if your looking for some real jerk chicken. I got some and it tasted like it was yesterdays chicken reheated. The rice was ok and the ox tail gravy wasnt the best and I love my gravy. To be fair I only tried the jerk maybe there curry goat is amazing Ill let you know all in all try it out but I warned you lol .

THE BEST GOAT ROTI I HAVE EVER HAD. I love goat curry and anytime I eat at a West Indian restaurant, its goat. As such, I have tried many a dishes with goat. This goat roti is BY FAR the best and I caught myself having moments of this is just incredible. Heres why its so good: The roti skin itself is dhalpuri-style with the ground yellow split peas within adding flavour and texture. The roti is filled plentifully with chickpeas, potatoes and goat. There is a nice balance of chickpeas and potatoes so it doesnt feel like youre getting too much of one or the other or that those ingredients are trying to make the roti feel stuffed. As for the goat, there were perhaps 6-7 pieces (plenty!) of 1-1.25 inch cubes, tender and moist, quality meat; often the goat can be overdone and dry. What stood out to me immediately after cutting into the roti was how juicy it was (extra gravy). The gravys has the right consistency of not being too thick or thin. The amount was neither too much or too little, allowing every bite of roti skin to have a warm layer of gravy. The gravy had a balanced richness of flavour without being too salty or spicy or whatever. There is only one option for hot sauce - yes or no; no silliness of varying heat levels. The hot sauce adds a small amount of heat and tang to add another dimension of flavour, without becoming overwhelming heat that takes away from everything else. While many restaurants offer all of these qualities, they havent been presented ALL TOGETHER. It is phenomenal. I had to let the restaurant know how great the goat roti was. The one woman taking orders was delighted to hear the compliment and explained how Jaclyn (owner) and Chris are the cooks. When Jaclyn herself received my compliment, she replied with a smile and very humble thank you. If I am out in The Beaches neighbourhood, I will be making every effort to come to Jaclyns. Love this spot to get delicious Caribbean food and the people who work hard to serve!!! The Jerk Chicken plate is one of the best and portions are generous. Oxtail Gravy is on point. Even the music they play the short time you wait is great, hearing a Cher song I cant stand being sung by a Caribbean artist made me vibe to it. One Love to Jacklyns and hope your around forever

This place never disappoints. Great tasting food and the lady stuffs the Styrofoam container with enough food to last you a couple days. One of the few places that actually makes you feel like its worth playing $20 for a plate of food.

The beaches needed a little taste of the islands! I love that I don t have to go deep into Scarborough to get authentic jerk chicken. Jaclyn s has everything I need in one spot. The jerk chicken was very juicy and packed full of flavour. The ox tail gravy on top was a great addition. I was able to sample some of the curry chicken. I ll be sure to order that with roti on my next visit. I also had a little sample of the homemade pepper sauce. That stuff is hot!! But definitely adds fan additional level of flavour.

Love this place! We went for the first time in the summer of 2022. Now on our 1st visit back to t-dot we have gone 3 times in one week.

Just ate my lunch (jerk chicken, rice and peas). So so good. Also a huge portion (had the regular size) and am stuffed after eating 2/3 of it. Will definitely be returning.

Stopped by cause it was close to the concert venue. Food was amazing, I had the chicken roti, my friend got the jerk sandwich. Tried some of hers and had to go back before we left to get a jerk sandwich too. SO AMAZING

Delicious! I ordered beef patties and a jerk chicken sandwich. The chicken is perfectly juicy and saucy, a nice spicy kick to it, I like how they put the coleslaw on the side for you so it doesnt get the bun soggy or if you like eating it on the side. Patties were very flavorful and fresh tasting. Will be back!

The best oxtail stew Ive ever had. I cant seem to get to the jerk because I crave her oxtail. I could have it every day. Not too salty or oily, super tender and delicious. The goat rotis fine and the coleslaw is fine but I dream about the oxtail.

I had such a good experience getting takeout from Jaclyn s. The portions were large, the meat was melt in your mouth tender, and everything was jam packed with flavour. I would highly recommend trying their bbq or jerk chicken if you ve never been. This is the kind of place I ll be going out of my way to come back to!

These are the types of businesses that deserve to be successful! I can t say enough about this place. I work a couple blocks away from here and I ordered a curry goat off of Uber and they blessed me! Coming from Markham specifically to try this new restaurant in Leslieville was simply a great decision!!! The food was SPECTACULAR!!! The Jerk Chicken was sooooo good! The oxtail, fell off the bone as soon as it enter my mouth!!! Ghheeeezzzz!!! Okokok...so for me the Curry Goat was the G.O.A.T of the evening!! I dont eat goat from everywhere (as my Trini mudda thought me!!) It was AMAZING!!!! Flavourful, perfect consistency, goat was perfectly cooked. To say the least, it was a 12 outta 10!!! Ohhh btw...the PEPPASAUCE!!!! As I was eating, what I saw transpire from the owners was absolutely amazing. A young gentleman came in and didnt have enough for a specific meal. ( a few bucks short..) as I was going to give him the needed funds, Andrew asked him what he wanted, relayed the order to Jaclyn and they took care of his meal. Simply outstanding establishment, the owners & staff are amazing. The food speaks for itself!!!! You have a return customer!! Keep doing great things!!

We have ordered from Jaclyns a few times and we have never been disappointed. The meat is always juicy and tender. Generous portions. Even the creamy coleslaw is done well. The service is always fantastic. Its now our go to for Caribbean even though its out of the way for us. Highly recommended!

We are obsessed with Jaclyns food!! Incredibly delicious flavours - always tastes fresh and perfectly spiced. The fish and shrimp is my FAVE, but the oxtail and chicken is also perfection. Talk about next level comfort food. Cant get enough, so grateful to have this spot in the neighbourhood!

My new Caribbean spot! Jerk chicken sandwich was amazing!

Came here and tried the curry goat on rice and a beef patty. The meat was tender and the gravy was flavourful. The beef patty tasted freshly made. We also tried the hot sauce which was a classic Scotch Bonnett with medium heat. The focus here is on classic dishes and generous portions. We will return!

BBQ chicken was tender and tasty. Friendly staff and the takeout container comes packed full.

I had Jaclyns today for the first time and WOW was I blown away. The cutomer service was great! The curry goat was the best i have ever had, tender and flavoured perfectly. The jerk chicken sandwhich was just spicy enough and it was served on a soft bun, highly recommended the jerk sandwhich. I also got doubles and curry chicken, the curry chicken delicious - saucy, flavoured and cooked to a tender. I will be coming back! this is my new favorite restaurant! Good job Jaclyn.

My husband and I had bbq chicken, curry goat, oxtail, rice n peas, vegatables, hot sauce, coleslaw and beef patty. Every single thing was delicious. Nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and helpful. The prices were fair. We do not live in the city anymore but I am adding Jaclyns to the list of food places we hit up when we drive in for the day.

Went here with my girlfriend before a concert, we had the Oxtail, Jerk Chicken and their Jamaican patty to go with it, the food was so fresh and tasty, would definitely recommend and will come back again!

One of the best Caribbean food I had! I did catering for a party and my guests came for seconds. The jerk chicken and the channa was my favourite! Customer service was excellent with reasonable price. Definitely I ll be ordering again :)

The best jerk chicken I had in Toronto. They gave 1 whole leg and 1 drumstick of fall off the bone jerk chicken for $7. The quantity is really good for someone who eats a lot. Not too spicy just the right amount. Highly recommended and will go again.

My friends and I have been smelling this delight on Queen Street for weeks, and finally found time to stop inside. This place is AMAZING. We were served by the best, friendly folks. Patrons inside were recommending things they enjoy regularly. Everything was made to order, fresh and fantastically delicious! We are already making a list of things we need to try next time. You will love it!

This place has the BEST: jerk chicken (roti or solo), fried chicken, oxtail, goat curry, whatever sauce comes with fried chicken (think Chalet Sauce but better). Good portions and reasonably priced. You can get Doubles if they post them in Instagram and hope to try them soon. Coleslaw is a tad sweet. Patty was okay, crust was a bit dry. Otherwise awesome and our go to for Caribbean!

Jaclyns. Jaclyns. Jaclyns. Best Caribbean food in the city! If there is a place in the city that is as good, then it can only be as good, and not better; because it cannot be flavoured or tasting any better. I ate there for the first time today: I had the large Oxtail meal: it was 19 dollars and was enough for two of us. (For reference: Alwynns large Oxtail at Queensway and Islington is 18 dollars, half the size and flavourless compared to Jaclyns: the quality of Oxtail they use is not even comparable.) The quality of Oxtail Jaclyn uses is superb; high quality for sure. Jaclyns coleslaw is delicious. Jaclyns hotsauce is delicious. Jaclyns is not only a Carribbean food restaraunt, but a purveyor of healing goods also; as her meals are all clean, well spiced and full of healing properties. Comforting food on holistic level. I give Jaclyns a seven out of five if I could! Jaclyn, if you are reading this, never let your quality go lower, only higher, (if possible!) (laughter and smiling) Jaclyn said she is passionate about her work, and her food shows forth that truth. No where in the city will one find, for the same cost, as high quality a portion of such delicious food: if I am wrong, show me.

So happy I found this place after our Go To Caribbean restaurant closed down. Their food is generously portioned! Ive had the Jerk Chicken meal as well as their sandwiches. Watching them load up the chicken on Coco Bread makes my mouth water every single time. I highly recommend this place! Ive tried their patties a few times now and I think its safe to say that I dont recommend them but everything else has been quite good!

Have been here multiple times. Queen east needed an authentic Caribbean style restaurant. Flavours and spices are colourful on the pallet. If you want something quick, this is not the place. If you want something delicious you found the right spot!!

First time ordering via Uber Eats. Loved it. Jerk chicken and jerk boneless chicken made my wife think of Montego Bay. Side salad was boring. I liked the patties but wife did not. Definitely in our rotation for delivery.
