Modern authentic restaurant specializing in seafood, lobster and peking duck
They carve the duck in front of you which is an interesting experience. The value is good! Plenty of food for three people. I recommend paying for extra wraps because they really do not give you enough for the amount of duck you receive.
I’ve heard plenty of people in my circle and on my FYP rave about the Peking duck and Chinese food. However, I thought it was just okay—the duck was a bit dry. Personally, the rice and noodles didn’t have much flavor. I did enjoy the sweet and sour fish, though. The service was great, and I had no issues with the staff. They were super attentive and nice to chat with.
We came here for a weekend lunch (4 ppl). Tried their special Peking Duck set plus two lunch sets. Everything tastes fresh and authentic like I was back in Hong Kong. Staff was very attentive and the dining room has nice atmosphere. They also recommended their special soup of the day which is double braised chinese herbal soup. Most restaurants don't make it because it is very time consuming and difficult to make, but theirs exceeded our expectations and tasted as good as any 5 star restaurants. It's a must try!!!
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Midtown. I took my in-laws for a birthday celebration, and they thoroughly enjoyed the food. The Peking duck was delicious—tender and crispy. Just a heads-up, they do charge an extra fee for the additional wraps. Be sure to ask about their daily specials; they offer limited but authentic dishes. We also ordered the sweet and sour fish, which was tasty as well. I can tell this is already a neighborhood favorite—we arrived at 6 pm on a Thursday, and the place quickly filled up. However, it can get pretty loud in the hall. I can't wait to go back and try more options.
Peking duck promo of $48 for a whole duck, 5 pcs pancakes. Extra pancakes at $6 for 6 pcs, extra cucumber of sauce for additional $. Pretty good prices as I’m used to paying way more for Peking ducks. This one though wasn’t as juicy and the slices were pretty thick but I’m not complaining, the cost is pretty low. The second course is the fried duck with lettuce leaves wrap. This was also ok, we enjoyed it. We got the sichuan crispy beef (not at all spicy) and quite good. Tea is at $3/ person. This was my first time to eat in this place and they have an extensive menu including lunch specials (under $20). We didn’t get the lunch special but we saw it on other tables, portions were good enough. Service was attentive, our server made sure our teapot was always filled and took away empty dishes pretty quickly. She was kind, polite and professional. Interiors were clean and modern. They also have a patio outside for overflow since it’s a small restaurant.
Had lunch here twice now. Both times ordered the Peking duck special. Both times it did not disappoint. The hot and sour soup is excellent. The mango salad, vegetable spring rolls and pork/chive dumplings are also very good. The lunch specials are good value and come with 2 side dishes and jasmine tea. We’ve tried the lemon fish and rice noodles (hofun) so far. The fish is better than the noodles. The rice noodles was too hard for my liking but the flavour is good. The decor is lovely and the service is good. In terms of dessert, the sesame red bean balls are yummy. I wouldn’t recommend the mango sago though. It had no sago, just jelly and it’s overly sweet, for $10 it’s not worth it in my opinion. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for the Peking duck and hot and sour soup.
Small restaurant specializing in Peking Duck. Went for their half price special: $49. The duck is carved in front of you by the wait staff. Duck was tasty without feeling too oily. There was more duck than there was wrapping. It comes with 6 crepes. With other places, you get about 10-12 crepes. Even though extra wraps can be ordered for an additional fee, I feel like this is a money grab. Same thing can be said for the Hot & Sour soup. Portion was child-size for an adult price. It tasted like your average food court fare. Parking can be challenging. You’ll have to scout ahead of time for the parking lots scattered around the area.
Weeknight dinner with three friends. Love the cocktail options. The seafood vegetables were great. The squid was nice and tender, not overcooked. I recommend it. The Peking duck was on special, and it is great value right now. It is very considerate that the crepes are separated with steamer paper to make it easier to pull apart, and faster for me to get the food in my belly. The duck skin was crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. It's also fun to watch the duck get carved up table-side. I parked at the nearby Green P because I hate parallel street parking on Bayview. You can max out for the evening at $5, and it's just a 5 min walk away, which is also nice to do after a large meal.
I finally got to go tonight with friends....and It was amazing. The food was stunning and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was very busy which was lovely to see. We had the duck to start which was crispy, tender, tasty and obviously one of their best sellers. It comes as a 2 part course, one with crepes, one with lettuce wraps, both were excellent. I had also ordered the crispy beef with chow mein veggie noodles, but i was so full after the duck i got to take it home and have it for dinner tomorrow!! Lucky me! Apart from our mains coming to the table while we where still eating the duck wont change our decision on going back to try more things on the menu, what a great new addition to bayview ave.
Jing is awesome Excellent food, service and ambiance. Har gow is delicious! Great addition to neighborhood. Our waiter is a superstar! Food : 5/5
The food is of a very high standard, with many choices and Hong Kong characteristics.
Went there for Friday lunch. They have a lunch set with 1 main & 2 side dishes. Had Siu mai ($2 extra) & mango salad as side dishes, beef Hor fun as main. Everything was good. Siu mai takes 15 min = since everything is served together, you have to wait for everything to be ready to get your food. Parking: Parking is directly on Bayview.
Wasn t bad but it wasn t good either I wouldn t say the taste was authentic it reminded me of a Manchu wok on steroids Again this was a takeout order
Crappy food sub par service, lo mean noodles floating in water and soggy vegetables , budget place, budget service pushing budget combos
Food was excellent, served with flair and care; service was attentive. Unfortunately, setting and comfort were not great: table was way too cramped for four dinners; cutlery and dishes were inappropriate for Asian cuisine (huge plates made the metal forks and knives slide all over); and mirrors everywhere made for little privacy between tables.
Delicious wok fried lobster with ginger and green onion, beef rice noodles and dim sum. Beautiful presentation of dishes and good customer service. Went back for a second time for their peking duck (2 ways) and Cantonese seafood chow mein. Everything was delicious and there was also a complimentary mango sago dessert.
Highly recommend Beijing duck. We ordered whole duck and it was enough for three of us. Really tasty.
The peking duck half price promo was a steal. The service were very friendly and attentive. Clean and quiet environment.
Recommend the lunch special for takeout speedy service and also very friendly! Even let me enjoy my Jasmine tea while I waited :) Hit the spot.
You know there s gonna be trouble when from the start all you hear is about upgrades My wife wanted Peking Duck for her birthday. We knew that we would have to order at least two with several other dishes and as soon as we started to order, we were told that the $49 Peking duck promo was one per table . Seven of us sitting together, were willing to compromise and split the table with two separate checks; but NOOOOO they wanted us sitting on two separate floors. Let s be clear, we were going to order several other dishes on top of the duck with drinks, but there was no negotiation. OK, so you ll kill a $300-$400 check over $30. Mad props to principles yeah right. So, we paid for our drinks and left. So many other places to eat Peking Duck in TO.
I went there on Saturday especially for the Peking duck to celebrate with friends. The tea was horrible, We were told we had to sit at different tables on different floors in order to get the Peking duck special. Seriously,. We asked to speak to a manager we were told the manager went home . We paid for our drinks$35 Upon leaving another staff member came and asked us if everything was ok ? That person was rude to us and started to argue. We went to another restaurant. By the way as we were leaving this restaurant was empty upstairs and down stairs there was about 10 people. Don t go.
We shared 4 dishes....a rice beef dish, a veggie, a chicken and a seafood. Quantity was perfect! And so was our meal! The service was topnotch too! Will definitely visit again.
Excellent food, friendly owner and staff. Also nicely decorated.
For not being from Toronto. Experiencing new things this restaurant was absolutely fantastic from presentation to customer service. Would definitely come back.
Ordered from Ubereats- supposed to be dumplings with chill oil, but it came with a super sweet sauce and it s so salty!!!!! There was no chill oil at all. Looks nothing like the picture!!!
I am very particular about my Szechuan and it took awhile before I found a replacement to my former favorite that closed. And I found it at Jing. This is my first time and I picked it up. Their hot and sour soup is spot on. All the right ingredients and the perfect t balance of hot and sour. The Szechuan shredded beef is exactly what I ve been searching for. It was heavenly comfort. I look forward to the next time but each time will include their shredded beef.
2-course Peking Duck was good, for $49. Ordered other dimsum dishes, which were ok.
Lambert was AMAZING server. We loved him !!!
The Peking duck is ok, there are definitely better in Toronto. But, they did a good job with making it into a second course. Other dishes were decent too.
Came to try the peking duck price is decent, but u get what u pay for. The duck is on the drier side and some pieces are also tough and dry. The moo shu wrappers are also SO dry it only comes with 6 wrappers which isnt really enough for the entire duck either i enjoyed the cabbage wrap (second course); overall i think the peking duck is ok; i havent tried their other food and would be open to coming back for that. A bit tricky to find parking in this area (street parking available, either paid or residental)
We came here on Sunday to try their Peking duck special. $48 for a whole duck and 6 wraps (which is too little compared to your traditional Chinese restaurants in Markham), additional $6 for 6 extra wraps (expensive). The duck itself was juicy and the skin was very crispy. The second course had fried white noodles underneath to make the dish look fuller and the lettuce was quite wet. Overall I would say pretty good if youre coming for the duck, but it seems like youll be paying more for the additional things (like the wraps, tea, extra cucumber/green onion) compared to traditional Chinese restaurants.
The food itself tastes good but not honest promotion. We took our friends here who visiting the city. The promotion shows the whole duck but we only get the cutted parts in front of us and the left over was promised for second course, but only see a handful of the dish. And it s roasted duck.
This is a scam: 1. The menu says Peking duck, but it is roasted duck 2. The menu says that you will receive a whole duck, you will be cut into 40 percent of the duck, the rest will be taken from you 3. They wrote us two different bills for different amounts and quickly hid the smaller bill
$49 Duck was ok. The meat of the first course is not fresh and dry. Sauce was good. The second course was better, and there was a great amount of lettuce. 5 stars for one of the meat servers, she sliced a great amount of meat. Food
Went for Peking duck for our daughter s birthday. We had an amazing experience from beginning to start. Our regular place closed down, I m assuming due to covid. We have now found our new place. Thank you for making my daughter feel so special. Service was excellent, food was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect for family style. Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to pork and they were very accommodating
Amazing food and great prices!
A wonderful experience. The food was delicious and our server was absolutely lovely.
Excellent food and service.
Our family had the whole duck. Amazing service and food was really good and tasty! Will come back!
The Peking Duck was the best Main course. Highly recommend it and definitely will come back next Canada trip.
I recently settled on Jing as a dinner option when taking a friend out, after having frequented neighbouring Hollywood Gelato and being intrigued by this Chinese joint, especially with their Peking Duck promo so prominently on display outside. Im very glad we decided to come here, as it was some of the best Chinese Ive had in the city, outside of Markham/Richmond Hill. The Peking Duck was truly spectacular, and an all-time top-5 amid all the ones Ive had- both courses of it were incredible and masterfully prepared. Honestly, I went crazy ordering here for two people, ordering maybe 7-8 dishes total, so cannot recite or recall everything, but will say the sizzling beef (with ginger and scallion) was some of the most tender and flavourful Ive had anywhere, as was the incredible must-try XO pork. Really cant go wrong with anything here. Server was incredible warm and accommodating, and vibe in the upstairs dining area is great. Highly recommend this spot, and cannot wait to visit again soon.
I recently had an amazing dining experience at Jing Chinese Restaurant! The Peking duck promotion with the dim sum tower was absolutely exceptional. Our server, Ishu, was a delight! So friendly and knowledgeable, Ishu made our meal even more enjoyable with great recommendations and attentive service. We had a great time and can t wait to come back for more!
The Peking Duck was signature!
Friendly service and great food!
Another Toronto food highlight! Saw this place from a tiktok about their Peking duck combo. We were a table of 5 and thoroughly enjoyed that, plus the hot & sour soup as a starter, and ending the course with the mango sago dessert. All points were hit: service, food, presentation, overall value. We will be returning for sure. Thanks also to Ishu, the wonderful lady serving us (she made the evening even better)!
Amazing service, food, drinks and atmosphere! I have not one complaint I will come here every time I visit Toronto
Went Monday night for the Peking Duck. The duck was brought to the table and prepared in front of us for the pancake dish, while the remaining duck was taken away and turned into lettuce wrap filling. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic!
Came with my family including a 3 year old toddler for the whole Peking duck special among some other things. The duck courses were great, duck was so moist and carved perfectly at our table. We also ordered the duck fried rice which was delicious and bigger portion than we expected. Service was great, seating was comfortable. Good value and tasty food. Happy to come back again!
Everything was amazing, from the food to the service.
Everything we ve ordered was delicious we came here Tuesday and again on Thursday. They have amazing portion sizes one dish can serve two easily! Very fresh tasty and filling.
The restaurant has street parking near it which is free until Sunday at 1pm. We enjoyed their full duck special for 50$. It was a two course meal that came with rice wraps and lettuce wraps. Very flavourful meal and both my fiance and I enjoyed it.
Me and my family enjoyed a lovely dinner here!We loved the duck(even I did, that I rarely eat duck!)and especially the side dish with duck and lettuce! The crispy chicken noodles, sweet and sour chicken and crispy beef were wonderful, too!All very well cooked and tasteful! We enjoyed every bite! The staff were very polite and friendly!
TLDR: Food was delicious and boss provided excellent service. Will definitely come back again. We had the Peking duck/lettuce wrap special + extra skin and crispy squid. Fed 4 people to full. Peking duck was good, they cut it at the table for a nice show. My only criticisms are that the duck was a little dry and 6 skins it came with wasn t enough. Extra 6 skins were needed for 2 pieces of duck/wrap. The duck/lettuce wrap was good, one of the best I ve tried. The crispy squid was good, also one of the best I ve tried. The batter was light and fluffy unlike most other places. Eat it fresh!
Seen this restaurant on instagram and wanted to check it out for a while. I was not disappointed, the food was great, the atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent. I will say I don t eat duck very often at all but it was delicious and the price was very reasonable. I recommend checking this place out. Great for date night or dinner with friends!
Food was good, service was amazing, sorry if I spelt name wrong but Esu provided excellent service!! I will definitely be back
When I went to Edward Park with my parents-in-law on Friday, I saw a Chinese restaurant with roast duck nearby at noon. We ordered roast duck and some other meals there (because we were in a hurry and didn t have time to eat other meals except the roast duck, so we packed them away without taking photos). The roast duck is really good and the service inside is also very good A Chinese restaurant worth recommending
Food is Outstanding!
Good food with good service. Highly recommend.
Had the 50$ promotion for Peking duck with my family. For all the marketing behind it I thought that there would be better food. It was mid across the board. The Peking duck was fine, but it was a bit dry and the set came with only 6 crepes (additional 6 pancakes is 6$ which is super expensive!) the portions of hoision sauce and veggies was extremely small as well. The lettuce wraps werent as flavourful as I expected, it feels too westernized compared to the Chinese cuisine that I grew up eating at home and in China. This was the same with the Shanghai Noodles we ordered, no spice or depth of flavour it just tasted salty with some soy. I was also surprised that there was no tea offered as a drink (only ice water) as a traditional Chinese restaurant would always have both hot tea and water on offer and we didnt get any water until we asked for it. The tea that we did end up receiving was also from a tea bag and not loose leaf! If Im going to be paying for tea I would hope that it would at least be high quality loose leaf, but from the tea bag it was clear it was only fannings. We also got a lunch set to share, but among the complementary drinks they only had hot tea, so we werent even able to order a hot milk tea or coffee and did not feel like paying a 2$ uncharge for an iced drink. The waitress was very curt about it and almost felt like she swiped the menu away from me before I could get to ordering the drink, saying they only had tea and not even giving me the chance to consider other drinks. I feel if that 2/3 of the combo options which are free arent avaliable you should either tell the customer upfront before we look at the menu or at least offer one of the other items at a discount. It just felt incredibly poorly thought out. The price is obviously still good, but I would definitely never go back for anything at full price. If you want proper Chinese cuisine at affordable prices there are so many more places in Richmond Hill and Markham which are spectacular.
New Chinese restaurant just opened up on Bayview Ave south which is great for the neighbourhood. They currently have a Peking duck promotion (2 course meal) for $49.00. Parking is a bit challenging in this area, but worth going to try the food. The menu is on the bit pricey side and the dishes are catered to foreigners palettes.
Amazing meal with the Peking duck promotion. Smritee, our server was so fun and attentive and helpful. The entire staff actually was extremely helpful and attentive - anyone passing your table will gladly take an empty plate, refill water, take an order, etc. They also seemed happy, smiling - it all creates a really lovely atmosphere. And lovely too as the evening went on, and it got busier! Definitely will return and bring more people next time!
The place is simple, Service is adequate, and the foods are outstanding. Every dish I tried had something in its uniqueness. Their best has to be their peking duck, not greasy at all and cooked just right. The Chef must have done his homework on all his dishes.
Theyre getting a lot of influencers to promote their Peking duck special. Its not a bad price ($49), but its not worth it. The food is just OK. The whole duck is supposedly for 6 people, but they only give you 6 wraps in total (additional wraps are $6 LOL $1/wrap is wildly expensive). There werent enough toppings (green onions and cucumber) either. Overall, would not recommend.
Have gone here a couple of times with family and friends and each time we had a great experience. We really enjoyed the Peking duck and the crispy sizzling beef. My toddler likes the Shanghai noodles. The restaurant was on the busy side so it did take a little bit for our server to come take our order but the food was worth the wait. Will definitely be returning again.
Came here for the $49 Peking duck offer and it was what we expected. There was enough food for the 4 of us. Ended up ordering 2 more dishes and portion size is good as shareable for 4 people.
Since we were a bigger group, we were automatically charged about 25% of tips despite what we had to go through. Our waitress was nice. However even with reservation, we waited almost half an hour for our table. We had reservation for 2 tables. One for the kids and one for adults as we were a bigger group. Long story short, Pretty sure they gave one of tables away since different employees had to check for reservations several times. Food is average considering the options we have in Toronto. Even so I Was still hoping to find a place nearby, within walking distance to us that we can frequent and bring friends over, but with this experience, we wouldn t recommend it to our friends or neighbors
Impressed with the food and service here. Tasty, serves wine, price is decent.
What a rip off. Ordered 1/2 crispy duck on ubereats, $68!! It weighed 181g, that is equivalent of $375 per kg!! I called the restaurant was promised a call back from the manager, this didn t happen. Got in my car and drove to the restaurant to return this over priced deliver of duck. I noticed that the portion sizes of the duck in the restaurant were a lot bigger, therefore as a delivery or pickup you will get ripped off. The duck wasn t crispy was more dry and sliced. Avoid at all costs!
Superb service, delicious duck meal, and great cocktails. Seems like a new restaurant, and looks very clean.
I have been dining at Jings Restaurant since they opened ! I must say we had an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the cozy ambiance and friendly staff. The menu offered a delightful selection of dishes, each prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The service was top-notch, with attentive servers who were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. The attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience truly set this restaurant apart. Whether youre looking for a special night out or a casual meal with friends, I highly recommend Jings for a memorable dining experience. I cant wait to go back and try more of their delectable offerings! Best Chinese food in the City
As a couple we tried the dinner for two peaking duck combo. The service was above and beyond, not a single dish disappointed and for the price the quality and portions it was excellent. 5/5 would recommend also try the duck bone soup I promise you won t regret it.
the duck was dry and not impressionable. I understand the promotion was to get people into the door but none of the food made me want to stay. we also had th xiao long Bao and beef. I would skip the xiao long bao as the skin was too thick but the ginger beef was well made. good option for Chinese food but I would not eat the duck again.
The peking duck, dim sum, and the house desert were so good. I would recommend anyone to give this place a try! Customer service is top notch too!
A must try restaurant in midtown toronto! Service, food, atmosphere is amazing.
Great service and amazing food. The duck and dessert were perfect!
This was our first time and it became our favourite Chinese restaurant in midtown Toronto. The food is delicious. We had the picking duck, dumplings, fried squid tentacles, noodles with vegetables, fried rice with duck meat. The service was excellent.
Food was amazing and our server Ishu was very helpful, attentive and polite . Try out the pecking Duck and the lobster that was outstanding.
Pretty good place, food was good for the value. The half price Peking duck how could you go wrong. The service was good although the food did take a while to come out. Snow peas and broccoli were great I wouldn t recommend the sweet and sour pork. Rice was hearty and decent I d go back for the Peking duck special.
Came here for the Peking duck special. The duck was well prepared. Skin was crispy and the duck was moist. The downside is they only gave 6 pieces of wrap for a whole duck which was not enough for a whole duck. Maybe because it was a special, the portion size was reduced. The lettuce wraps portion size is also reduced from other Peking duck restaurants. Also ordered Shanghai noodles which were prepared well. Lots of wok hay. They know how to cook here!
We visited for their $48 2-course peking duck special. The food was delicious and the staff cutting our duck was very nice. Only thing that stood out to me was our reservation. I messaged them via Instagram to ask if we can make a reservation as I had no clue how busy it may be on a weekend. The staff on their IG DMs was amazing and helped us make a reservation, reserve the peking duck promo, and knew that i was for my husband s birthday so they said they will bring ice cream for celebration as a bonus. However, when we were on our way and called the restaurant since we were running slightly late due to construction, the lady on the phone was impolite and did not understand we were telling her we made a reservation and she just told us there is no reservation under your name but sounded in a rush and impolite. When we arrived, luckily we were seated quite quickly. However, the great customer service provided on Instagram got slightly thwarted by my interaction with the staff on the phone.
Had ordered the Peking duck special with some cocktails. Got my Peking duck craving satisfy, the duck lettuce wrap is the best! The cocktail is aesthetically pleasing , but taste heavily on the alcohol side. The resturant is very busy when I visited on the weekend. I would recommend booking a reservation.
Loved the service here, everyone was so so nice and helpful. The food was 10/10.
Stumbled upon a new Chinese restaurant. And they had $48 Peking duck special. Food was delicious, average portion. Good atmosphere.
The peeking Duck was 10/10. Melts in your mouth.
Came here after all the amazing videos of their Peking duck surfaced. Theres a really good promo going so we took advantage of that. I was dining with a baby, I called and made a reservation ensuring we could use their high chair. Upon arriving, the waitress spent a good 5 minutes grilling us on the fact that any high chair would get in the way of their duck carts and just stood there telling us to move. But there wasnt any table to move to so we just shuffled to the middle and shrugged because what else were we supposed to do? Duck was presented nicely and sliced tableside. Duck was dry, not horrible dry but definitely not remotely moist. The crepe were thick and hard, the condiments included cucumbers which had been cut a long time ago because they too were all dried up. Im happy I tried but I wont be wasting my time here again.
We stopped by June 15 to buy 4 items outside during festival on Bayview and was absolutely delicious a definite must for everyone to go for lunch or dinner
Went here for fathers day. Food is incredible. Will definitely be back.
We came for the $49 duck special, which is a steal. The quality of the food here is pretty good, portions are a bit on the small size for a Chinese restaurant. However the service and speed of the food coming out made this a non enjoyable experience for a dinner out. From when we sat down, it took 30 mins to take our order, and our last dish didn t come out until an hour and 15 mins after we sat. It s not the servers fault, there was only one upstairs and she s also carving the duck. For a place a on promo that gets busy, I d expect them to be well staffed to accommodate. While the promo is worth it, don t be expected to be serviced quickly.
Terrible service and rude staff. I had a reservation with my family for 6 people and there were no tables available. It was very difficult to get staff s attention to discuss our issue and their best response was that the party seated at our table was over their time limit, but they didn t do anything to enforce it. We waited 45+ minutes and ended up leaving to another restaurant down the road. When we told staff, they offered a booth for 4 and a separate table of 2, which is completely unreasonable considering we had a reservation. During our wait we also observed very slow service for many tables (ie: people getting their peaking duck but not the wraps), so would suggest avoiding this place entirely despite all the online hype.
Go go go! Best peking duck ever! Service amazing! Atmosphere just right! I loved loved loveeeeed this place. Our waitress was so kind and looked so passionate. Will definitely bring many more friends here! Thank you thank you thankkkk youuuu!!!
I visited this restaurant with my friends yesterday. We got the chef curated set for 4 people, which included the pei king duck. The food was fine but nothing amazing. The assorted appetizer dish was nice and had good variety. The pei king duck came with two dishes, the crepe wraps and the lettuce wraps. They didnt give a lot of crepe wraps and the amount of toppings felt stingy. The filling we got for the lettuce wraps had barely any duck in it, which was disappointing. The general tao chicken was good and crispy. However, the dessert was very questionable. It was just mango puree with popping boba and some strawberry ice cream in it. It was not very palatable. The service was average, but it was evident they were struggling to keep up as it took some time for us to get staff attention and took quite a while for us to get the bill. At this price point and given the quality of food, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant. There are much better options for Chinese food elsewhere.
Dont go here if you have a baby in a stroller. They dont want you in their store. They had 4 empty tables and was asked if I had a reservation. I passed by 30 minutes later and those 4 tables were still sitting empty. The hostess said I can sit outside. There was a thunderstorm and a torrential downpour outside, and the patio was open, not covered. How rude, who would sit outside in a torrential downpour. I would give a zero if possible. Terrible experience. Not to say the least I drove 45 minutes to get there. Will never go there. This was the first and last time.
Nice duck and great services!!
Typically good food but ruined by bad food safety issue. Broccoli is full of small white worms. And I mean dozens of them.
My name is JJ. Jing Chinese Restaurant is awesome. You must try the stir fried bok choy and cu chao mian. Absolutely delicious, amazing food and the nicest people. 5 stars. Vegetarian options: Restaurant owners are super helpful
Went there 9:30 pm 11 may 2024 for some quick soup . We were aware that they close at 10pm but we were willing not to stay there for long . Just 2 persons . The server declined service because it was close to the closing time . Also it was raining hard outside
Best Chinese restaurant in town. Service was also very good and they were so kind and friendly.
Excellent customer service
Peaking duck was so good. We will be there for dinning too.
I uber eated the soba dan dan noodles (vegan) and they are so tasty!
The food and service was truly amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Was craving the Peking duck and came here for the promotion but having tried many peking duck I would say the price is very reasonable here. Would be coming back for sure
Great authentic chinese fusion, fantastic service. 10/10 would come back! Great find. Peking duck all 3 course, garlic shrimp, veggie plater are all must try.
This place is very refreshing if you are looking for nice Chinese cuisine. The Peking duck was nice and tender. This place has a very nice atmostphere and is very clean overall. The food is pricy however its worth the cost. The staff is very nice and the lychee juice was spectacular with a lychee fruit inside. The dessert here was astronomically fabulous. Very refreshing after a nice and hearty meal. Will be visiting again!
Im a Chinese immigration for 20 years. This is my best food experience in Canada.
It far exceeded expectations. I will go there often. Every dish of frijoles is a classic. I will try to eat it all again.
Presentation is really nice and place is very clean. However food is a little bland and in comparison better value and quality can be found uptown.
Tried this place on Uber eats but it was well worth going in person. Very nice aesthetic inside and it was quite large with a whole second floor. We tried their limited time Peking duck promotion which was delicious and well worth it (and came with 2 courses + optional soup add on) as well as their seafood mix and lotus leaf fried rice dish. Their food is very nicely presented and the service was impeccable. Would come again!!
Came here for their $48 whole peking duck 2 course promotion and it was so good! Shout out to our server Ishu for being so sweet and attentive! Will definitely be back to try more of their menu :)
Ordered delivery. Best hot and sour soup I ve had in ages. They had a buy 1 get 1 free promo I took advantage of chicken and also had a vegetable fried rice. Huge portions. Glad they are now in the neighborhood.
Really solid food, fast service and overall excellent experience.
The food is excellent. Highly recommended!
This place is amazing. It is the best Chinese restaurant on Bayview. The Peking Duck is so good, same as the other appetizers. My favorite dish is the fried squid and BBQ pork dumplings. We came with our family 6 times already. Also the waiters are super friendly and nice. The deserts are really good as well. Maybe add a bit more dishes onto your menu. I really liked the lychee juice, one of the best drinks I ever had. This place is filled with people most of the evenings so reserve ahead of time. Thanks for the experience!. This part was 4 months later Also their 125 dollar deal is such a win, the mouton soup was heaven, the Peking duck just keeps getting better, I try to go there but it is full every time. But Im waiting for that tapioca though!. Thank You So Much Jing You will always be crowned the best western Chinese restaurant in Bayview if not Toronto.
Loved the Dan Dan dumplings and Peking duck!
Disclaimer: Im not related in any way to this restaurant except we share the same name. ;p Actually thats the reason why I decided to check in out. I had pretty high expectations as the reviews were very positive and Im glad that my experience was the same. We ordered off of the lunch menu and enjoyed all the mains and sides. It was great value for the price! Service was warm and friendly and the decor was quite lovely as well. I look forward to returning to try their peking duck as well as other dishes.
This place has friendly staff and delicious meals, so well definitely come back.
Best Chinese food Ive had in Toronto. We ordered half Peking duck (table-side carving and two types of wraps), Hong Kong style lobster (delicious swicy sauce), Seafood Chow Mein (best Ive had), and fried squid appetizer (also excellent). Very satisfied and will be back and will bring friends/family.
Wow. What a wonderful surprise Jing is. We went for a half Peking duck and left 2 hours later after 5 courses of duck, plus dim sum, noodles, and dessert. Our kids just kept ordering more and more and more. Both said Jing is their favourite new restaurant. The food is fantastic, the service is incredibly warm and professional, and the presentation is top-notch. Our new favourite. Kid-friendliness: I think this is the happiest I ve ever seen my kids at a restaurant. They loved the food, and our server was wonderful with the kids.
Excellent food and service
Excellent service and incredible food. The peking duck was so delicious, my 7 year old daughter kept asking for more. They were also very careful about my allergies which is not usually the case at Asian restaurants. I d strongly recommend Jing s! Dietary restrictions: Very careful and thoughtful about allergies to nuts and shellfish Kid-friendliness: Super friendly staff
Ive been waiting for a good Chinese restaurant to open up in the midtown area. Thank goodness for Jing Chinese restaurant, otherwise Id have to drive to GTA or downtown for Chinese food. It is authentic and delicious. I chose the pick up option because I needed my birthday catered. I will be back for dine-in because the interior looks great.
Amazing food, amazing service! Will definitely come back
Recommend lobster
Excellent meal at Jing s with my family. Highly recommend. Xiao Long Bao delicious, also recommend the shredded Sichuan Beef. Kid-friendliness: Good selection of kid friendly bites
Effortlessly enjoy the consistently exceptional cuisine and impeccable service. The perfect touch of spice is present for eternity. Remember to indulge in their delightful mixed beverages - they will impress!
Been here twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch. Both were great. Really good value. High level execution at a very reasonable price. Great lunch specials. Peking duck for dinner is excellent. One of the best in the city. Hot and sour soup is a must try.
A pretty good experience. Service was perfect. Food was also delicious. Recommendation: Goo-loo pork (soft inside and crispy outside, better taste than that in other Chinese restaurants) Crispy fried squid tentacles (so tender inside, so crispy outside, tasty sauce, you must give it a try!) Vegetarian spring roll(I like the mango in it. A bit sour and sweet )
I m reading in other reviews that the Hong Kong chef has 40 years of experience. It clearly shows in the well rounded flavours, and beautiful presentation. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. She helped us navigate the menu with egg and nut allergies. The menu offered clearly designated GF options as well. The dishes ordered were so enjoyable. I look forward to trying the showstoppers next time.
Went on Christmas eve. They werent ready to be slammed, so service was slow. Food was good have had better. Peking duck is popular. Friend was amazed how good the lobster was. Service is better on a regular day.
Had dinner this evening and really enjoyed it! the food was good quality and fresh. The ambiance and decor was nice as well. The server gave us great recommendations which we followed and enjoyed. Would definitely recommend the chicken lettuce wraps. We will be back!
This small resto has had exceptionally good food since its opening last year. I think its now the only really good, upscale (largely Cantonese) Chinese food in this general area and now my favourite of the more expensive places on this stretch of Bayview. Beautifully presented, well flavoured dishes, attentive and enthusiastic staff. Its special Peking duck and lobster dinners are worth it. (Check to see if you need to order them in advance). A pleasant and harmonious decor and atmosphere. Theres a small patio facing Bayview in warm weather. Has a small upstairs private dining room that can be reserved.
Nice welcome..serving vessals/ cutlery well thought out, for each food served...good attention by staff of any needs..food was delicious!!..will definately go back or order from...hot food was hot/ cold foods were cold and crispy..plenty of food for each serving to be shared.. Vegetarian options: Looked as beautiful as it tasted...options for everyone
Outstanding quality of food at a pretty decent price. Very warm and attentive crew. The ingredients are fresh. The elegant cutlery adds to your authentic Chinese dining experience. Vegetarian options: Excellent cu chao mian in vegetarian option!
This is a first class Cantonese restaurant. Smashed cucumbers and fried green beans are superb dishes and the beef tenderloin prepared at table is wonderful. The only drawback is noise--hard surfaces put the next tables conversations in your ears, but this is a small convenience for the great food and seervice.
Excellent high quality Chinese food. Really good Peking duck and crispy chicken.
Best Chinese food I ve ever had! The service was friendly, super clean and modern space. Very high quality food - so happy to have this gem in Leaside.
Amazing authentic Hong Kong style Chinese food. The lobster and dumplings were very flavorful and perfectly cooked. Beautiful space with top quality serving staff. Great addition to the Bayview strip.
Best Chinese lobster I have ever had. Dim sum style dumplings were great and the squid was completely authentic. Lastly, if you are into fried desserts, the fried milk (see photo) was amazing. Very memorable experience. Im coming back Sunday.
Great food and service , you will be a great experience to have meal here
Best General Tao chicken Ive had! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend :)
Very good Chinese place. Love the energy of the staff.
We were so impressed with food and service today. We came specifically for the duck ( which was amazing) , but everything we ve tried was delicious. Seafood is perfectly cooked, rice noodles with beef, amazing! Very modern take on Chinese cuisine and delicious!
The Peking Duck is simply amazing!
Authentic chinese food, quality service, and attentive waitstaff. A great new addition to the Bayview / Leaside neighbourhood, and a much needed local option for chinese cuisine without needing to venture out to Markham. Peking duck was juicy and served with appropriate crepes and condiments, along with a second lettuce wrap dish (with chopped duck meat). Sweet and sour chicken has crispy batter on outside and juicy chicken on the inside. And the other standout dish was the Lo Mai Gai (sticky rice dim sum), which surprisingly had distinct aroma of the lotus leaf (and thats becoming increasingly rare!) All in all, an excellent dining experience. Best wishes to Jing for their every success!
I recently went here for some dumplings and the food was phenomenal really recommend the chicken pot stickers. The service was really good with friendly staff.. would go again
Incredible food and wonderful service! Everything was delicious.
Great food and service, and a good price for the portions and high quality that you get
Im very happy that we now have quality Cantonese-style food in the neighbourhood instead of having to drive uptown! We especially enjoyed the lobster, which was cooked just long enough to retain the juicyness of the meat (truthfully, better than most other Chinese seafood restaurants), and the sweet and sour pork or go lou yuk, which was saucy on the outside and crispy on the inside with just the right amount of breading. Although the dim sum that came with the lobster meal is a bit unusual for dinner, you cant really complain about being able to enjoy a cha siu bao. A few words also needs to be said about the presentation of the food - from the plating to the garnishes, the chefs add a significant amount visual detail that elevates the experience. The trilingual service (English, Mandarin, and Cantonese) was friendly and attentive, easily accommodating our young familys physical and dietary needs. We look forward to coming back often and becoming regulars!
Only basing on the Yeung Chow fried rice from ubereats. It was very good! There were only 3 shrimps but lots of charsiu to make up for it. Will order more and visit the restaurant sometime. Food
Very delicious food. Nice place and friendly staffs! Must try the lychee and almond shrimp ball
All foods are delicious! We are here for a friend s birthday party, upstairs basically have a private area. The staff here are friendly as well. Would definitely come back.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Highly recommend this place if you are into Chinese cuisine. The restaurants is very nice and service is good. Will surely come again! Need to try the Peking duck.
Delicious and wonderfully presented food, beautiful space, excellent service. My husband and I were at a neighbourhood bbq recently where so many were raving about how great this restaurant, so we decided to try it. Our neighbours were right! I loved everything, but especially the smashed cucumbers (not over-garlicky like some places Ive had this dish), spicy green beans, coconut shrimp. This would be a great place to take out-of-town visitors, celebrate a special occasion with family (we didnt go upstairs, but apparently there are large round tables available upstairs?), a romantic date. Love the decor.
What a fabulous new addition to the neighbourhood! The food is delicious, and beautifully presented by a cheerful and enthusiastuc staff. Theyve been getting a lot of buzz locally since opening and it is completely warranted. We will be back again, soon.
Amazing food! Authentic to Chinese cuisine, excellent service, and great portions. Worth every penny. Would highly recommend.
Our server was one of the best I have ever had. She was attentive, polite, gracious, and thoughtful. The food was delicious- definitely a step up from other neighbourhood restaurants that serve Chinese food. We will be back. Dietary restrictions: Server checked for any allergies before making recommendations of dishes. Kid-friendliness: A calm atmosphere. Our server addressed my child with kindness, grace, and respect. On the way home. daughter talked about how awesome our server was and that it is very cool that the chef is a woman.
Delicious and well-priced. Innovative but authentic.
One of the best Chinese restaurants I ve been to a while within the GTA. Authentic food, and excellent customer service. I look forward to returning !
We ordered takeout and it was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely flipping FANTASTIC! Delicious fresh food, incredible service, and delightful staff. Can t wait to head back!
Unreal food. We were craving real Chinese food and dim sum. This is it.
I had a great experience. Food was good and fresh.
Decent food but would appreciate a little more richness in the flavour.
Absolutely loved the food. The dim sum was incredible but the Peking duck was the star of the show. Ling was also a very attentive and informative waitress. Parking: Green P close by
I really enjoyed my dinner here. The food was delicious and elevated, but at the same time authentic and reasonably priced. The Peking Duck, Squid Tentacles and Dan Dan Dumplings were my favourite dishes. The service was also great; very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back again.
I had an amazing meal at Jing. The food was delicious and thoughtful. The service was excellent and attentive. I loved the house fried rice!!
Absolutely amazing service! The food was so delicious. The atmosphere was also quite good. Maybe the best Chinese food I ve had in Toronto in a LONG time.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at Jing, an authentic Chinese restaurant. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an enjoyable culinary journey. Our server, Lyn, was exceptional in every way. She provided us with excellent recommendations, ensuring our meal would be a memorable one. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu truly reflected the passion that the staff at Jing have for their cuisine. For starters, we ordered the General Tao, Pekin Duck, spring rolls, cucumber salad, and chicken dumplings. Each dish was a perfect balance of flavors and showcased the chefs expertise in Chinese cuisine. The General Tao had just the right amount of heat, while the Pekin Duck was tender and succulent. The spring rolls were crispy and packed with deliciousness, and the cucumber salad provided a refreshing and tangy contrast to the other dishes. The chicken dumplings were a delight, with a delicate wrapper and a flavorful filling. To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the fried banana dessert. I must admit, it was the perfect finale to our dining experience. The bananas were perfectly caramelized and paired wonderfully with the accompanying sauce. It was a delectable and satisfying end to an already delightful meal. Overall, Jing exceeded all expectations as an authentic Chinese restaurant. The combination of outstanding service from Lyn, along with the exceptional food, made our visit truly memorable. I highly recommend Jing to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Chinese culinary experience.
Amazing service coupled with great food. Our entire family loved it!
I just ordered from your restaurant for the first time. Amazing food. It was hot, tasty and fresh. One of the best Chinese food I ve ever had. I will definitely order again. Keep up the good work
Recently discovered this GEM while driving down Bayview. Cannot speak any more highly of this place!!! Absolutely delicious authentic Chinese food, elegant presentation, great vibes and super friendly staff! Prices are very reasonable for the experience you get at Jing. I was blown away to say the least... What a pleasure to have dined here!
So, I never would have thought Id ever have gold flakes on my General Tao chicken but here we are. Thanks for making me a little mind blown at lunch.
Great. Excellent value, A local favourite.
Great experience! Lobster and pork are very good. Staffs are very friendly.
Fantastic service, delicious food and reasonable prices. A great choice if you are looking for top quality chinese food.
The staff was super nice and welcoming. We had the wonton soup, which was good and the dim sum platter, which was great. The other dishes were OK but not good enough. Didnt try the signature dish - Pekin duck, we understood its popular. Food
This restaurant is amazing and I will definitely come back to here. I ordered Beef Hofun, HK Style shrimp and rainbow beef for dinner and everything taste fantastic! The service is also amazing and friendly. Love this place so much and I will come back in a short time for sure!!!
The environment is good, the food is very delicious, and the service is good.
Absolutely amazing food and service. We were a big group and we tried lots of items there. The Hong Kong style lobster was to die for. Peking duck, stir fried beef, dumpling soup, dim sum, fried shrimp, steamed broccoli, general tao chicken, rice, chow mein and somehow they made all the items super tasty. Servers were very friendly, too. Six stars!
Some of the best Chinese food Ive had. Service was very good. The restaurant is quite and comfortable. The food was excellent. All the dishes had great flavour and presentation. Will definitely be many return visits. Thank you! Parking: Street parking
