Jules Bistro is a cozy spot with amazing food and a charming atmosphere. The menu is simple but everything is so well-prepared and flavorful. The staff is friendly and attentive, making it a great place for a relaxed meal.

I ordered the onion soup, the steak frites and a crème brûlée via Uber Eats. These are three items I typically wouldn t order for delivery but they came perfectly packaged, still warm and my steak was medium rare! Delicious! They re real pros over at Jules!

Food was delicious, atmosphere was fabulous and service was excellent. The place has great energy. We will definitely be back again!

To start off, I made the dumb mistake of making the reso at their queen west location on the restaurants busiest night. We were initially told that the restaurant is fully booked and it was unlikely we were going to get a spot, however the manager Romain was very accommodating. He took my number and called me 15min later to let me know they had an open table. The food was great, half priced 24oz steak frits. Highly recommend.

You know what I hate? When the server gives you options such as Would you like the house salad or caesar salad with that? but not tell you that one of the options would be an extra charge. I saw other reviews where that happened to them, so I guess they upsell without telling you pretty often here. I ended up paying an extra $5 for caesar salad. So Ive taken a star off for this experience. I had steaks and fries, it was pretty good steak with well seasoned McDonalds french fries. It literally is McDonalds french fries. For $100, dont think I would go get that again, but sure maybe half off. Also had bone marrow here, I wouldnt recommend it.

I arrived on time at 9:30 pm, only to be told by the staff that they were closing and that I didn t have a reservation. After checking the computer in front of me, they realized I did indeed have a reservation. The staff member then offered to ask the cooks who were outside smoking on the patio if they would come back in to prepare our food. By that point, I declined, as the situation was already awkward, and I didn t want to feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience. It s worth noting this was my third visit. The first time, the food was decent, but the service felt rushed. The second time, they closed early despite my reservation. And now this. I really tried to give this place a chance...

French onion soup was very bland and we didn t finish it. But the steak was great!

The waiter didn t inform us that we would get extra charge for the sauce and fries/Caesar salad. I don t mind paying extra 10 dollar but he should have informed us about it. The steak wasn t seasoned enough and not a good cut; it was chewy and fatty. Would I go there again? I would not, even for the half price; it is not worth it.

IT S STEAK TUESDAY!

Total experience was ok. Been to a ton of higher end restaurants at the same price range, and I d say it wasn t up to par with my expectations. We ordered about 6 appetizers between 4 people, and two mains. What was a big surprise to us was We paid around $19 for 3 extremely small pieces of scallop (two were the size of a quarter, one was a nickel)..was overcooked and not entirely worth it. We also got bone marrow that was tough. And the most disappointing of all, each dish only came with 3 crackers, when there were clearly 4 of us at the table. Set your expectations low

Perfect restaurant. Decor, atmosphere, service, and the food is exceptional. That said, I only at Steak Frites both times I ve been here. Caesar is amazing. And the chocolate mouse! Highly recommend!

My date and I enjoyed our night here! Our cote de boeuf steak fries were pretty good!!!! I would only go during the Tuesday half price though, the steak was a bit overly fatty in some parts and the fries came out cold, had to ask for fresh ones, steak was served medium rare even though we requested medium but we didn t complain, it was still tasty. The last piece of steak with the bone I picked it right up and the meat off it the taste was soooo good. The service was quick and the Tuesday special is big enough for 2 people, so 60$ is pretty good price. Overall a must try spot! Must book a reso.

Love this place

Have been here many times throughout the years, one of my favourite dinner spots. Ambiance is beautiful at night, portions are decent and staff is always very friendly and attentive. Food is consistently delicious and decent quality for its price point. They have a 50% off deal for their Cote de Beouf (steak and fries) on Tuesdays, but even without the deal still definitely worth a visit!

Awesome food goat cheese toast and salad appetizer and the cote de boeuf for 2 were top-notch. Passion fruit cocktail was strong but tasty. and creme brûlée was greattt. Service on point. only flaw was the tables were way too close for comfort. Overall, though definitely a solid spot.

Came here on a Tuesday for their 50% off special and it was totally worth it!

Tuesday is THE DAY to go!! This amazing place in Leslieville is all I was looking for in a date night spot. $49 cotê de beouf for two (and it definitely feeds two, unless you re really hungry) is the promotion they have only for Tuesday. We also tried their cocktails and the classic french onion soup. Would definitely go again!

We enjoy dining here from time to time. The dinner last week was good, especially the Cote de Boeuf for 2, well prepared, reasonable price, delicious! Side dish of ratatouille tasty. Our server asked if we wanted peppercorn or chimmichurri sauce for the Boeuf. We decided on chimmichurri which was unexpected minty, $4 in a very small plastic container. In future, no sauce for us. The lighter vegetarian onion soup with emmental cheese flavorful. Grilled octopus appetizer was good, but very small portion for $26.95. Comfy seating, friendly service, thank you!

Not the best. Went on Tuesday for the Cote de Boeuf deal and also ordered the octopus appetizer. The atmosphere was nice but the food was disappointing. We got a very small piece of octopus which was ridiculous for its $30 price point. Next, the steak was very fatty and the quality and flavour of the meat was severely lacking. I dont think this cut of steak is worth even $50 on a Tuesday much less for $100 regularly price. Overall I think this is just another overhyped social media restaurant and wouldnt recommend or eat here again.

Owner or manager (older bald gentleman) was very rude and confrontational. When we got to our table, it was about 15 minute wait till anyone even spoke to us yet alone took our order. I asked for my steak medium well and it was burnt on the outside but medium rare on the inside. We also explicitly asked for the sauce on the side with the steak, which he then proceeded not to give it to us, yet still tried to charge us for. Even though the one waitresses who served us in the end was kind, I would still definitely not recommend.

Steak was amazing, tasteful and well cooked. My friend had the octopus which was really good. Definitely worth your visit and I ll definitely go back again. Also they have this really cute table outside that gave me European vibe.

The food is great. We both had the steak, frites and salad. We swapped the salad from house to Caesar and Im not sure what the difference was. Little or no dressing and no cheese. We think the waiter was new as he never asked if we wanted pepper or looked in our direction again. I helped myself to the giant almost empty pepper grinder from the table in the middle of the restaurant. I would go back.

The manager or owner was openly flirting with a customers wife and it was loud. He was even having a drink with them. The lamb was cooked well but very under seasoned. The bread that came with the appetizer was extremely hard. The waiter took a long time to come out with our bill

My fiance & I have been coming to Jules Bistro for the past 6 years and all locations have been exceptional. From the service of the staff, to fine-tuned French cuisine, there is bound to be something to please all guests. We often are tempted by the specials, but always end up ordering the grilled octopus & rack of lamb for two. We are wishing for the continued success of Jules Bistro and looking forward to many more outings!

Service was great very relaxed and laid back but attentive. And the food was amazing steaks were cooked perfectly! Will definitely go back again, perfect casual date night restaurant

The owner/manager made our visit a quite unpleasant experience and left a bad taste in our mouths. Some of the staff were kind and friendly, although a lot of lack of communication between the staff. We had to ask for dessert 2 different times from 2 different staff. We also had asked for the bill 4 different times from 3 different people. It wasnt even a busy night, half the restaurant was empty. The food was mediocre. The steak was half cartilage and half meat. The appetizer was one bite of 3cm x 5cm mini toast with cheese on it for $10... On top of bitter leaf mix with barely any seasoning. The owner or the manager (older man) was very confrontational and disrespectful. He stood right next to us staring as we are paying watching how much we are tipping. The bill was $150 for 3 people. Although the food was mediocre and the service was okay, we still tipped 15%. His attitude changed as soon as we tipped and then proceeded to throw the receipt at the table in a disrespectful demeanor, instead of placing it or handing it to the payee. He then proceeded to ask us if the service was bad (as we were walking out) and we said no it was okay, and then he said because the tip does not match the service. Nonetheless the tip was still given, out of respect and appreciation for the staffs efforts. It is optional and not mandatory. This is not a way to ask for customers feedback or to request for a higher tip. We did not ask for special requests or make demands, we did not give anyone a hard time, our orders were simple and to the point. We did not complain to any of the staff about the food or say anything. We simply wanted to enjoy our meal, pay for it, and give a NONOBLIGATORY TIP, and move on with our night. We previously visited the other Jules Bistro location and had better experience with higher quality food. This is our first time visiting this location and obviously will be our last time. Very disappointing experience.

I went to Jules Bistro once a while. I ordered salmon with fries. It was so good and very soft. They have good customer service , the staff are very nice and patient. They don t rush me. Their octopus is good and I had the bread ricotta and I had scallops on top of the bread for appetizer. It was so good! For dessert I had chocolate crepe it was so good and so light! I would definitely come again!

The food was stellar although I kept seeing different versions of the cote de boeuf board from table to table. Nonetheless delicious. Sadly the service was lacking ... 2 waiters and a hostess who was also waiting tables, a full restaurant and patio you would think they would have more staff on a Tuesday given its half price cote de boeuf and one would assume its going to be busy. We asked for a second bottle of sparkling water and never got it. Had to ask for dessert twice it arrived half an hour later thanks to the hostess. Well go back for the food but I sure hope the service improves by then.

We always have such a wonderful experience at Jules. The food is delicious and fairly priced given the premium quality and generous portions. The prix fixe for 1 or 2 are really well thought out and reasonable. Wine list is fantastic at all price points. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend rack of lamb for two, steak frites, spicy shrimps and all of their desert tarts (blueberry, apple) and chocolate mousse! We always leave with our hearts and belly s full!

Update: The place is trash, we ve gone several times since our review. The older man on the waitstaff/manager will gaslight guests into ignoring a rowdy big group table (cause that table will bring him more $$$ than yours), with their volume ruining everyone s dinner service as we all look at each other across the room at how absurd it is. Saw the other persons review about him pestering them about the 15% tip. Never coming to this location again. Go to the Queen W one and let this location die off. Old: We went there for dinner on Friday night shortly after they opened for service - being the first few tables. We ordered our food and drinks relatively quickly cause we knew we had a show to catch. However, we had an issue with our crème brûlée dessert. I assume we ordered dessert earlier than the kitchen team expected and they weren t done cooking the crème brûlée but our order was accepted anyway. The ramekin may have been pulled too early from the water bath. We broke through the torched sugar to find the custard has not set and was still liquified. Flagged to the service staff who apologized and brought it back to the kitchen, only for them to blast heat/nuke it + torch fresh sugar and bring back to us. Still charged us the full $10 price for the dessert and we paid, didn t make a fuss. My standard for this well loved and usually attentive place is to either inform the patron the dessert is not quite ready and offer an alternative suggestion OR provide a completely different dessert once the undercooked crème brûlée was sent back. For the kitchen team, that should be the high level standard they hold themselves to and to the brand. If the item is not ready, it s not ready! No need to rush it, just let the patron know and we can order an alternative - no problem at all! Never compromise the integrity of the product - that goes for anything. Food Items ordered: - Steak Tartare 5/5 - Salmon Tartare 4/5 - Crème Brûlée 2/5

I usually order the steak Frites however this Saturday I went for my friends birthday. We ordered the rib eye for 2 and have to say there was not one piece that was not fat! So for over $100 I ended up taking it home for my dog! My friend said it was terrible. I also ordered the liver pate but couldn t eat that either, the little pieces of toasted bread was stale and couldn t chew it. And this place was my recommendation. Told manager about the steak and he said it is supposed to be fatty but would throw in a sirloin to make up for it. That I appreciated but just wanted to go home after everything. Be aware however when you order rib eye that its fatty!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here on a Friday evening and the restaurant was fantastic! Great service from the staff and we really enjoyed the food. We had the chicken liver pate to start, and the steak frites and seared tuna special as our mains. Everything was delicious! We also really appreciated the staff and their attentiveness as they knew it was our anniversary. Highly recommended!

Had a great date night, I was a little tipsy but the staff was so nice, I love the decor, delicious food, the steak frites were perfect; the steak, the fries and salad . I love that the waiter knew the menu well and what goes into each dish and was understanding of my celiac. I was able to have a gluten free and dairy free delicious meal, felt fine the day after as well, it s rare for me to find a place to eat where I don t get nauseous, I will definitely go back Dietary restrictions: Celiac disease and lactose intolerance

This was an amazing French restaurant that I consider to be one of the best value meals in the city on Tuesdays. In addition to steak that is cooked really well with a lot of flavour, the ambiance and service put this place over the edge. The fries are also cooked quite well. As you d expect the food is quite rich with butter but no complaints by me. Great spot for a special occasion or an impromptu dinner.

Got the Côte de Boeuf for two. The steak was tender and the flavour was great. Fries were also thin and delicious. Tried the Escargot for appetizer. The cream sauce was my favourite. Worth a try.

What a delight! Lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices, wonderful staff and delicious food. I enjoyed everything about this dining experience and would highly recommend the duck and ribeye steak for two. I was craving for French onion soup which was one of the reasons why I choose this restaurant. It wasn t the usual French onion soup made with beef broth. Food was average and more on the salty side. Service was friendly and good. Tables are quite close to each other. The ambience was cozy and dark

My partner and I went on Tuesday (it s half price) and we got the Cote de Boeuf. We upgraded to a ceaser salad and got the peppercorn sauce. It was a great portion for us. The ceaser salad dressing tasted fresh. The fries were done perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (some of the best fries I ve had). We asked for medium and the steak was medium rare, but that was ok. It was extremely delicious. I really liked the seasoning except it was just a tad salty. The sauce was really light and perfect. I would recommend to anyone who wants a nice steak dinner for 2 that s not super expensive. The waiter we had was very polite and I liked the atmosphere for casual dining.

I ve visited this place twice now. Love the half priced cote de boeuf on Tuesdays! Though it seems that it s a lower grade meat. The first time I visited, service was amazing, the second time our server kept forgetting things we d asked for and the other servers were more attentive.

Absolutely a delight

This restaurant is a must go! Went on a date night for the prix fixe for two menu and have zero complaints. The escargot was delicious, the steak frites was tender and cooked to perfection, and the desserts were creamy and balanced. The service staff was attentive without being pushy and paced the meal expertly. Definitely coming back with friends or even just by myself for the prix fixe for one.

Attended for a friends birthday party. Probably the best steak Ive ever had in my life. They had a deal on the Tuesday where its half off for the steak dinner with salad and fries. 10000000% worth the wait and worth the price for the amount you are getting (pretty massive). Appetizers were really good as well.

The food and quality of ingredients was excellent. My partner and I shared the Prix Fix with an Appetizer, Steak Frites and 2 desserts. The portions were great value. Wine selection was excellent too! Cant believe I did not come sooner!

HORRIBLE experience. Worst time. The staff did not acknowledge us at all upon arrival. We had to wait 20 minutes before someone said anything. It was so uncomfortable. They did the same thing to 3 other groups. The chef and the host got in a fight in front of us because the food was getting cold and no one was serving it. There was a pile up of dirty dishes next to the host stand. Extremely awkward and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Jules Bistro is a intimate restaurant for a cute date night with your girls or your partner. Their menu is small but the flavours are mighty and they did not disappoint! Loved everything about it and I will be coming back.

Had booked this restaurant over a month in advance for a group of 8 on a Saturday night. Got to the restaurant and they sat half of our party and the other half had tor wait about 20 mins for the table to be ready. Then they squeezed in another group beside us making it for a very tight squeeze. The waiter (bald guy) was extremely rude and was coughing all over us. 4 of us from this party have tested positive for Covid and we are absolutely certain it was from this idiot. Weve dined here before and brought our family here to share in this wonderful small restaurant experience. But between the lack of good service, attitude from the waiter/owner who seemed to be overwhelmed and hacking all over us, it was an absolutely disgusting experience. I look forward to complaining to Public Health about this. Definitely not dining here ever again.

Delish! Get the steak, come with an appetite and start with the octopus, so fresh and flavourful

We had such a lovely evening last night! Piotr was our waiter, SO nice and helpful. We had 2 appetizers, (spicy shrimp was SO delicious) and Steak Frites was perfection!

The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were all so nice. Very genuine and friendly to guests and take the extra step to make sure you enjoy your experience. I had a great time and everyone was warm and welcoming.

Cote de boeuf was amazing and perfectly cooked. The scallops were great. However, I wouldnt order the escargot again. I think the mushroom cream sauce on the escargot took over the dish.

We discovered this gem on social media for their Tuesday special, which is the Côte de Boeuf for half off ($49.90) and serves 2 people. Also comes with a generous amount of fries and salad for 2. We upgraded to a Ceasar salad for an extra $4. The fries had great flavor and texture while the salad was a little tart and soggy. The entire staff from host to kitchen and servers were so dedicated to their work. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. They saw that our toast with the beef tartare was done while our beef wasnt so brought over more toast without even asking. These little touches make the experience a cut above the rest. The kitchen is open concept, which really makes you appreciate the hard work and effort put into preparing your meal.

I ve seen all the tiktok videos about Jules Bistro s tuesday deal, so my husband and I went tonight for a little date night. The vibe was good, and the servers were attentive. My husband ordered a beer, and I got a French 77, thinking I ll have a nice glass of red to accompany my steak later. Upon the first sip of my cocktail, I could tell it was made with artificial lemon juice, and an overpowering amount of it. We ordered the scallops to start, and their popular Cote De Beof - their Tuesday deal at half off (originally $98). The scallops came in a trio, plated along with a handful of greens tossed in balsalmic and oil that took up more than half the plate, and 3 super crusty, semi burnt toast were tucked on the corner. The scallops were slightly hard on the outside, and not easy to slice through. The bites were chewy throughout. I was extremely disappointed but optimistic for our entree. When our Cote De Beof came out on the cutting board with its side of caesar salad our server upsold, I was excited. The first bite was disappointing. The steak was lukewarm. I took a bite of the caesar salad they said was *chef s kiss*, made with cured bacon they make inhouse - it was as tasteless as the steak itself. I took a bite of the frites. Mcdonalds did it better. I was constantly disappointed by every bite I took, but I refused to leave with a full feast on the table. The only good decision I made tonight was to pair my bland meal with a very acidic drink. And the only good bite of food I had was the fatty part of the steak that actually had flavour and depth. I wanted to get a glass of red, but I couldn t bare staying any longer after we did our best to finish the meal. I want to support local and give as much time and money to small businesses, but overall, the service was good, the vibe was there, but the food was one of the worst meals I ve had this year.

Drinks were good. Beef tartare was good, my lamb was slightly overcooked than what I asked for but the steak was cooked perfectly. Dessert was good as well. Personally I prefer the west end location.

Love this restaurant! The vibe is amazing, the staff very friendly and the food is more than delicious. Perfect place to go during the pandemic the food will make you travel in France. My favourites are the cote de b uf, the salmon tartare, the poulet sauteed and the creme brûlée! You should definitely try it!

I am just reviewing my reviews on here and I had once left a less than perfect review of this establishment - so now I am updating, based on many experiences since. I actually love this place. It is very simple - great meats and fries, and very reasonable prices - Ive only been to the east side spot, and I must say the service is amazing. The manager remembers me, chooses a very nice wine every time. He is French, adding to the ambience - which in its self is very nice. its a beautiful spot - beautiful character and ambience.

Woooooww. The food wasss awsome. The octopus was so delicious.I love it.

Mediocre food, coupled with aloof and disconcerting attitude of owner/server. We attended as a wedding party of 6, and had previously met and spoken with the owner, who seemed involved and engaged with his business. Sadly, this was not the case when we ate there. The food was just mediocre, the squash soup was watery as if they were stretching the last remains to accommodate our group. The escargot tasty; the quiche dry and looked as though the cook had blown torched the topping; the sea bass tasty; the chicken dry but accompanied with a creamy sauce so it was less noticeable, and the salmon very overcooked. When we told the co owner/server about the salmon, he slightly nodded and then ignored us. We then spoke with the owner we had initially met and he offered to cook another salmon. When this finally appeared, it was cooked on the top, but very raw in the middle. When we told the co owner/server, he unhesitatingly admonished us for touching the salmon with our fingers to point out to him the severe undercooked food!. He then grabbed the plate in a huff and took off. Needless to say we were astounded and more so when the bill came and instead of removing the entire salmon meal cost they charged a hefty fee for fries and salad ( which wasnt eaten as the plate was removed with the food on it) and only removed the cost of the salmon. No apology for two poorly cooked and inedible meals, and the fact that one of the guests had eaten nothing. Suffice it to say we will not be back. Several of us are business owners in the area and expressed extreme dissatisfaction wth how this matter was handled (or not). Too many other restaurants in the area that will stand behind their product, give great service with a smile and apologize if and when needed.

Lovely food and atmosphere

My date and I loved 95% of what we ordered. He could not talking about the scallops. The Chèvre was to die for. Been a long time since he and I had veal, but we enjoyed it very much. The only thing that could have been better was the pate. We both thought it would be creamier like a spread, but it actually was dry and stiff. Their June 1974, which is a twist of French 75, was one of the best cocktails Ive had in North America. Go early at like 5pm, so it would be quiet. It gets crowded and noisy after 6:30pm.

Ive been to all locations of Jules Bistro including the Spadina location when it was open. Theyve done a good job in creating a great ambience in all their locations. Their food is traditional french rather than fancy french. It feels like the menu is designed to leave the diner satisfied rather than impress them. That is great if you are looking for a reliably good meal. The portion sizes are decent. Their steak frites is really good and comes with salad and mayo on the side. They have a chicken and a fish (grilled salmon) version of the dish which are equally good. Their desserts are presented in a simple manner. The tarte of the day was tart tatin (apple) and lemon tart on the day we visited. The crepes come in a choice of dark chocolate, powdered sugar or lemon.

i moved from the west end to the east, and was thrilled to find out that not only did jules have a location here too, theyre also taking the right steps in ensuring that their staff and customers are as safe as can be during the pandemic. because of this, my partner and i were able to safely celebrate our anniversary without the need to take on unnecessary risks. always a great time. cant wait to go back.

We were in absolute heaven here the food is divine and the service was very personable. The manager Romain is a lovely gentleman from France and knows his food and wine.

Its ok but too expensive for what youre getting. Youre paying extra for that French touch

Love this place. So much so that Im becoming a regular. Great service, cozy not-overly-noisy ambience, unpretentious, classic bistro food at reasonable prices -- and I love the cocktails. My only beef -- and its not with the beef -- is that I wish there were moules (provencale, au roquefort, etc.) et frites on the menu. The fries are for dying BTW, and I think how the mayo and ketchup comes without having to ask!

We had a fantastic time here! Our steak was cooked perfectly, the creme brûlée was fantastic and the service was so wonderful and friendly. Jules Bistro made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

This review actually deserves a 1 star but I know how much a 1 star review breaks restaurant owners heart and as a family we truely enjoy Jules Bistro experience in other locations.( sadly Spadina is closed) And I believe; this place would have deserved a real 5 star review with a little bit attention from the owners or managers. Experience we had as a family of 3 today was really, really bad. There were only 5 tables including us. And we were the 3rd table to be seated. We ordered oysters to start and 1 wagyu(special), 1 chicken and 1 salmon. Our 6 year old was extremely hungry and we expected her food to be served before ours. Our oyster arrived in a timely manner. But the rest of the food took 1 hour to be served. While waiting, the next table seated after us got their onion soup and 2 main dishes back to back after our oyster before our main dishes served. There were only one server at the restaurant and he was shacking oysters in the kitchen rather than serving customers. There was nobody to be found to inquire about our food or request a second round of drinks. Our server finally finished shacking oyters and served to the 5th table and ran back to the kitchen to bring our food. When finally our food arrived we complained about the wait and said that he could have at least brought the food for our 6 year old. And he promptly blamed the kitchen. ( how unprofessional). The food was definately not par to what we usually have at Queen West location. Wagyu was medium well ( we ordered medium rare) salmon and chicken were overcooked. Chicken was extremely dry, far from that juicy soft chicken we get at Queen West location. Even bringing the check and paying the bill took 20 minutes after we asked for it. To sum up; all restaurants in Leslieville were pretty much full tonight , this experience explains why Jules Bistro had only 5 tables to serve.

Escargot was delicious. Steak frites was more medium well than medium rare, due to the thinness of the steak. Just fine overall.

Awful! Please do not spend your money here. meal (meat) was horrible, and cream coming with coffee was rotten.. and waiter took it back without even apologizing. Never again!

My first foray into fine dining for quite awhile due to the pandemic, and I could not have picked a better spot to spark the old taste buds! The food was tremendous - a yellowfin tuna steak that melted in my mouth, braised green beans, and tender miniature potatoes. Absolutely packed with flavour! I guiltily followed this up with a lighter-than-air chocolate mousse. Way too good! The outdoor seating by Queen St., which was not particularly busy by 7:00, felt very safe, and the service was friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend Jules Bistro in Leslieville highly enough! It was like finding an oasis in the desert.

The fries are frozen, do not buy them. These are mcCaines and they charge u $7 for a small plate of fries

An excellent French restaurant. The dishes are varied and delicious. I recommend the prime rib, octopus and salmon tartare. The desserts and the service are also excellent.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night, really enjoyed the food and how attentive and nice the servers were. I really like how cosy the restaurant is and the open kitchen where you can actually see the chefs. (You dont really get to see who cooks your food most of the time) My cousin and I ordered The Prix Fixe for 2 ($99.95), which was recommended by the host. From that deal you are able to choose from: 1 Appetizer: Escargots Spicy Shrimp 1 Main: Cotes de Boeuf Rack of Lamb Duck Margret (Served with fries and salad) 2 Desserts: Creme Brûlée Chocolate Mousse Crepe (Sugar, Chocolate or Lemon) We ordered the Escargot, Duck, Creme Brûlée and Chocolate crepe. Everything we had was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My favourite was the escargot! It was tender and creamy but not heavy at all. It was paired with some baguette toasts which I loved. The duck was delicious too and the bed of fries that came with it tasted better than Costco fries ( and we all know how good Costco fries are). Definitely will come back to check out the rest of the menu!

Food and atmosphere were on point for a classic French restaurant. No surprises on the menu, but excellently executed for portion size, flavour and presentation. Food was a little slow coming with only one chef on duty and 4 tables sat (so also understandable), but the service was friendly, informative of the delay and attentive without overbearing. A little dark inside for a bright, sunny midday meal, not much natural light gets in, but I would love to visit again for a proper dinner - its definitely suited to that experience. And they do have a few two seater tables outside on the sidewalk, but we were a party of 6.

Went for lunch. Sat outside. The food was great. The octopus was absolutely amazing. Scallops were great too. Also really loved their wine selection. Reasonable priced and great!!!

What a disappointment! As French myself, I can assure you there is nothing French here, except the name and writings on the blackboard. Cookers are Asian, waiters did not speak French at all, even the manager. I took a steak frites with ketchup and something white on a side. The teller told me it was mayonnaise. It did not have the consistency and the taste. I have never seen a mayonnaise like that! 2 stars because the steak and fries were ok, but nothing amazing honestly. Not recommend, you can find better French restaurant in GTA for sure

Such a chic spot! Ambiance was absolutely perfect for our double date. Service was outstanding, while food was delectable! We had the octopus appetizer, cote de boeuf, chocolate crepe, lemon tart (feature) & peach dessert (feature). Quality experience for a fair price! Only wish we lived closer to frequent here more often. Good wine list!

Service is always great. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely ambiance as well. If you like medium rare I recommend visiting. Wouldn t go as far as calling this French but definitely still a lovely place to dine in. i occasionally visit and will continue to in the future.

On Saturday Nov. 5, 2022, although the food was very good and the owner was nice, the waiter left much to be desired. He was rude and embarrassed our friend. We will not be going back there. The waiter ruined what could have been a nice meal.

Fantastic! Dinner with friends, (who are picky because they are great cooks). Shes French and commented on how this was an Authentic French bistro recipes! Simple with good food. Waiter was amazing, he was attentive and gave is free aperitif after a nice meal.

It was worth of a visit at Jules Bistro ! Foods were excellent so as the drinks The waiters were busy but they were very friendly. We had a good time there. The only thing for me is that I had a good meal, I was satisfied but I was not impressed. I guess it is because the menu has been using for too many similar restaurants, its a safe car to play but I wish to see some innovative ideas for the price!

This is one of our favorite neighborhood places. Casual, great seasonings on their steaks or duck, super crunchy fries, some decent wines by the glass or bottle. The staff are super nice. Dedicates frier for the fries makes this an easy night for celiacs / gluten free

Order the lamb. Skip the steak and duck. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

Amazing French restaurant with very friendly service and a great ambiance in the restaurant. The food was outstanding, as were the cocktails. The frites were perfect. Definitely returning to Jules again to try more dishes.

Delicious lunch! We had the Côte de Boeuf for 2 and a Steak Frites. Great platter, portions are good. The staff working there is very nice and helpful. The Côte de Boeuf was really good but the Steak Frites did not stand out. It was a bit overcooked and dry, not my personal favourite. Overall, great experience.

Very delicious French bistro fare, and they do the best they can with the patio out front but it is still somewhat lacking.

Small restaurant with open kitchen. Service is quick. Dishes are all small portion but tasty. Fair price. Washroom is downstairs but not sure why so many flies inside overall ok experience

Great Service and Amazing Food! Went there for a birthday dinner and ordered the Seared Scallops to start then we both ordered the Steak Tartare and Steak Frites for our mains. Ate every crumb and will definitely be back soon, food came out super fast too!

Absolutely delightful Thurs night dinner here! Friendly staff (wearing mask), cool vibe and A-mazing dinner -- Recommend the tender grilled octopus (I expected it to be chewy but it was sooo soft and tender) **devoured in less than 5 mins** + Cote de boeuf (rib eye AAA - we got medium rare with fries, and house salad). The fries tasted like a fancier version of McD fries, so delicious! The steak was out of this world perfect medium rare, juicy, mouth watering dish. End off with creme brulee- it was a solid dessert. Perfection! Thanks for the great meal Jules Bistro!!

Booked a reservation on a weekday through Open Tables as my friend and I were always curious what French food tasted like. To our surprise it wasn t anything special. We started with a salmon tartare which was okay and we both ordered a medium rare steak frites but got steaks that could ve used a few more minutes. As the night progressed and more tables were being filled at the restaurant our server diverted his attention to other customers as we waited around 20 minutes for our bill, it appears there are only 2 waiters for this restaurant. It is a good intimate date spot, but can definitely dine at other restaurants in Leslieville.

Went here with a large group of 8 on a Friday night. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. The service was a bit slow, they were forgetting simple things like cutlery and water. We waited over an hour for our food but it was delicious and extremely flavourful. We got the octopus and the cote de boeuf which was exceptional!

Absolutely incredible, authentic feeling French restaurant. We went with friends and started off with the escargot followed by the cote de boeuf. The food was delicious, our server was extremely knowledgeable and the wine recommendations were perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Great food, ambiance and service

I cannot believe they allow kitchen staff to half wear masks, under the nose. The kitchen is at the front while I waited. Maybe Im hiding behind the Internet, but we threw out hundreds of dollars worth of food as I would never feed food cooked like that to anyone. Im disgusted and think this behavior is vile.
