Welcome to Khau Gully, the most authentic Indian restaurant in Toronto. Inspired by the bustling food streets of India, Khau Gully is a reflection of the diversity and real flavours offered by Indian cuisine. Our restaurant is a destination for the culinary curious to embark on a journey filled with culture and comfort. At Khau Gully, we take pride in our menu, offering regional specialties with a contemporary twist, prepared using traditional methods and the freshest ingredients.
Kinda becoming a regular here especially because of their vegan menu! Staff is super accommodating and starters/snacks are their specialty in my opinion. Highly recommend: 1) Tandoori Broccoli Aur Sunhari Bhutte (if you are vegan, ask for paneer to be replaced by tofu) 2) Samosa chaat Tandoori Broccoli is to die for!
The BEST indian food I have tasted. My first time in this restaurant and their food were tasty and delicious! Huge servings too! Staff were friendly, service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back! So glad to have tried this restaurant.
Amazing restaurant with delicious food! Bhindi Rajasthani was mind blowing!! We tried Kofta Sham Savera and Veg Diwani Handi. Both the curries were special and tasty. Palak khichadi ordered for kids were very healthy and tasty too. Last but not the least, staff was very caring. 5/5 from my side
I now know why they don't have any business. They charge nearly $7 for a small cup of masala chai if it's takeout. LOL, takeout paper cups are so expensive for them. Overpriced for what they're providing. Their menu isn't great, and customer service is just "okay" and not expectational. I have also been there for Lunch with my friend few months back, the food was awful. We felt bad for choosing this place for lunch. Update: LOL...Your tea is not freshly made, it from the machine. I have had tea earlier few months back for #3.50 cent in a to go cup and its tasted ok only. Its from the machine.
I visited Khau Gully with my friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The restaurant is overly priced, and the quantity of food served was very less. For a group of 7 people, we were charged an automatic gratuity tax of $42.31, which we felt was excessive given the quality and quantity of the food. Additionally, the service was slow, and the management was unresponsive to our concerns. Overall, we were very disappointed and do not plan on returning due to the high prices and subpar service. We only ordered a few items, but the bill was unjustifiably high. Definitely not a place we would recommend. Pictures will justify my concern!
Had Friday lunch there. no other customers.. felt bad for them. food is good, a bit on the higher side. Had the coconut chicken with spinach, rice & garlic naan. $32 before tax. Not spicy at all, was missing a little kick.
This is the #1 Indian restaurant in Toronto 🍁 We are so much incredible food from the Tandoor.. Salmon, Cheese Naan, Lamb Curry (Hard names 😅) and so much more! Aashim Eats thank you for introducing me to this incredible restaurant. The team here started in India then Oman and now in Canada 🇨🇦 loved the Gulab Jamun cheesecake 🤤 Say hello to the team for me!!
A Culinary Paradise for Indian Cuisine Enthusiasts Khau Gully is a culinary gem that showcases the true essence of Indian street food combined with a contemporary twist. From the moment I arrived, I was embraced by a vibrant atmosphere and a welcoming ambiance. The menu is an absolute delight, offering a diverse array of dishes that beautifully capture the authentic flavors of India. Every bite was a celebration of rich spices and exquisite tastes, highlighting the chefs' dedication to preserving tradition while infusing modern creativity. The staff were attentive and accommodating, enhancing the dining experience with their warm hospitality. The fusion of cozy comfort and lively energy made my visit truly memorable. For anyone passionate about exploring authentic Indian cuisine in a modern setting, Khau Gully is a must-visit destination. It's a delightful haven where flavors dance and every dish tells a story. Highly recommended for a captivating culinary journey.
Outstanding service and food was really good it actually got me nostalgic ( felt like I had as in India) and Nikhil the guy at the reception is really nice appreciate his service
I recently visited Khau Gali for brunch and tried the Lahsooni Dhaniya Paneer. The dish was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of garlic and coriander flavors. The paneer was soft and fresh, making it a delightful experience. A special mention to Nikhil, the server, who was extremely polite and attentive. His service added to the overall great experience. I highly recommend Khau Gali for anyone looking for flavorful food and excellent service!
Overall, the food was delicious and the atmosphere there was cozy and full of peace. The customer service representative nikhil who was really polite and nice.
Samosa was good
Amazing food. Love samosas Food
amazing food
The lunch special is a solid deal. Two full meals for $21. Thank you for offering affordable and delish food!
Sonakshi was great! Lovely service plus fantastic food recommendations
Delicious food but the dal and sauces were much too runny . They needed to be thicker. The pilau and Kerala curry were amazing!
Been here and had a very good time! There is a special vegan menu and the food was delicious. The staff was very nice. Specially, Hritik, who took his time to explain the menu. We went specifically for their Vegan Menu. Will come again!
Lasooni palak and butter paneer masala is a treat. A lot of vegetarian options.
Vegetarian options: Ordered veg Biryani via Uber eat today. The order portion is so small that even not fulfilling for kid. Plus Biryani was more of mix veg pulow not even close to typical Biryani. I will never order food from this restaurant again. I recommend they specify portion size like some of the other restaurants does. Food
Good
They have to totally remove the grocery/snack racks blocking the restaurant front which is probably effecting their business. They can do some exclusive home made stuff(podia and Pickles) and do a small display beside bar counter for home made pickles and podis. Definitely not by blocking the front of the restaurant. Regular grocery that are easily available in Indian grocery stores are unnecessary to display and it s not good to keep it in the front. Clean marketing strategy. Keep front visible for the crowd passing by and remove those grocery racks. People will look at the vibes while dining in, walking or driving or passing by and those at the entrance are totally blocking the restaurant. Hence , I think they need to remove those at the entrance as the grocery business is very small compared to the restaurant business. Otherwise, Decent food, ambience and service. They have to be careful about not blocking the front of the restaurant. I went there twice 1.5 years ago , they were quite good and full on the weekend without those any of those grocery blocking at the front. Now a days, they seem empty. They did some renovation. All the renovation is cool except those grocery racks in the front. PartIy, their business seem low because of those grocery racks blocking the front of restaurant with some easily available Indian grocery. I visited them today again after 1.5 years as I love their veg tandoori platter. I live few km away and it s the best veg tandoori platter and their best dum chicken biryani is one of the best in the surroundings. Hopefully, they consider this constructive review to flourish their restaurant business.
Good taste, expensive for what it is. Biryani was really good. Owner is nice.
Nikhil was our server, and he was great , attentive, professional, kind and genuinely thoughtful if you have the pleasure of being served by him, you ll see what we mean! This place offers a variety of great options, but what truly stands out for us is the vegan menu. As vegans, we really appreciate having such wonderful choices in a warm atmosphere with delicious food. Each time it has been consistent. Thank you to the team!
Service is good and staff is helpful. Ambiance is OK. They had a live counter for Indian street food like golgappa, bhel puri. Food is OK, sufficiently spiced. Dry Machurian and paneer Tikka masala were tasty. Overall, it is good and recommended for casual eating. Vegetarian options: Machurian and paneer Tikka masala were tasty. Sufficiently spiced and enjoyable. Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.
Still the best Indian restaurant by far! Unique dishes that beat the mundane butter/saag paneer.
Very good food and staff is very friendly, would recommend to everyone
Amazing food!!!!
Exceptional food ,ambience, food perfect spot for having great food and Sonakshi gave us excellent service.
Khao Gali offers delicious, authentic street food flavors with a lively ambiance and great service highly recommended!
Very happy to dine, here! A happy Maharashtrian met a Maharashtrian hotel business owner! Food was tasty, quantity adequate! Would recommend!
I had got the opportunity to visit the place, it give a homely Vibe, food is very good. Vegetarian options: I had paneer butter masala, with butter tandoori roti and dal makhani. Every thing is so delicious, I it.
Great service by nikhil. Good food and desserts
Umpteen number of choices including vegan. Chicken served was halal just as my friend wanted it.
The vibe here is amazing. Good food and fabulous service. Nikhil is an outstanding server, very much polite and always smiling.
Really good food. Staff is helpful in suggestion dishes to order if you are unsure about certain flavours. FYI they only take tips in cash, something that might be helpful to know ahead of time.
I just recently visited at Khau galli. The service provided by Ritik was excellent. and he suggest us most delicious dishes secellor and veg lasunai dhaniya paneer which was amazing . I love that:) we will be visiting again Thank you Ritik
I always love their food. Mostly I try vegetarian food and all the food items are super delicious. Bharwaan paneer, broccoli and sunhere bhutte, saam savera are a must to order. This time I tried Amma s veg stew and as usual it surpassed my expectations. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I have never been let down every time I have visited here. Overall, this place is a 10/10.
We loved this place!! Especially idyappam and veg stew!! Yummy
Finally found a place for authentic India restaurant with such diverse gravies which is rare to find in Canada Vegetarian options: More vegetarian option then you can find anywhere else
If you want to experience food orgasm try this place! We tried so many different dishes Im not Indian so I dont know the names (hahaha) BUT every SINGLE dish was Amaz-baalllssss the consistency of service was great the freshness and flavour profile of every dish kept getting better I ate so much I was full till next day I wish I could eat more... Will be back next week and the week after Ive found a new spot
Amazing Food. Service was excellent by Ritik and the team. Amazing food. Great work Chefs !
Food was delicious! Our server, Hrithik did an amazing job at recommending us some great dishes and contributed to an excellent overall experience.
Pleasant ambiance with authentic flavors.
Amazing food and service here. They have plenty JAIN options and they re actually very good! Must visit here.
My fav indian spot in Toronto - great food, fantastic service!
I had an incredible experience with Khau Gully! The food was absolutely amazing each dish was packed with flavour and made to perfection. Really impressed by how well they adjusted the spice level to match my taste, making the meal even more enjoyable. Aditi and her team are incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to customize a maharashtrian menu. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch Indian cuisine for party trays in Toronto and GTA.
It was our first time trying the place. It was on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and because it was the only place in town that was serving a special Chaturthi thaali for lunch on that day. The menu was a perfect combination of everything that makes Ganesh Chaturthi so memorable food wise. Treat for the Mahrashtrains in town. They had the basic Varan, batatyachi bhaaji, koshimbir, masala bhaat etc. and of course Modak. The food was delicious, and reminded me of our meals back home. The Modak was so well made. The thaali was limited and more than sufficient to satisfy ones hunger. The lady who served us was friendly and courteous. They take tips only in cash. Havent tried anything else hence wont comment on the usual menu.
Vegetarian options: Ghar ki daal, Masala papad, kofta, achaari paneer Food
Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Dal - gave me and my partner food poisoning after dinner. Second time this has happened. I think theyre using expired produce or spices. Considering reporting to Public Health to be honest.
Excellent food. Excellent service We tried Daal with Fengreek, Bhindi Amchuri, and Mulligatawny soup. All with excellent flavors that leave a superb back taste. Our bread was also good. Outstanding service. One suggestion. They suggest that tips be in cash. A bit inconvenient as now few people carry cash. Their staff deserves good tips and no cash does not do service to the team
I visited this place because of a video on davidsbeenhere s channel. I came all the way from Waterloo to try this place but I have had so much better Indian food. With Indian food at restaurants you want this chatpata flavour in your dish. Like the flavours of multiple spices are supposed to stand out however that didn t happen at all. It was a very below average experience for me. I had to order some lime to maybe help enhance the flavours in my curries.. however staff was really kind.
We ordered Coconut Chicken (with garlic naan) and Lamb Dum Biryani. Absolutely delicious and worth the money !
Best Indian food Ive ever had. Amazing!
One of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto. We were served by Hritik, the best server !
Vegetarian options: Thanks Hrithik for being such an amazing host today! Also the chef, Daulat tripan made amazing dal! Also, Hrithiks recommendations were top notch. I absolutely loved it! Food
The food and the ambience was great and Nikhil was an amazing host. The creamy and flavorful veg stew and soft idiyappam is a highly recommended combo.
Nice ambiance, the non vegetarian tandoori platter was good. Sonakashi made it a wonderfully comfortable experience!
Saw this place on TooGoodToGo and decided to give it a try. Usually, things on the app aren t this pricey (10$) considering it was meant to be thrown out anyways. Picking up the order was super fast but the amount of food was pretty little even for TGTG. That is backed by others since their score is 1.8/5 on the app. I don t think they operated with integrity when deciding to do TGTG.
Fantastic food and service! Shoutout to the super friendly owner who personally came to check-in on us and made sure we had everything we needed!
More than the food I loved the service!! They had many vegetation options and everything was delicious. Would recommend
The Rogan Josh tasted like lamb floating in tomato soup as another review mentioned. I wish I had ordered something else. Wasted ~$30.
Best Indian food in the city! Great spot to grab sharing dishes with friends. The curries are phenomenal. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Cant wait to be back!
Nice place for dine in. Good taste. Must recommend
Really enjoyed the naan and the cocktails
I have had food twice over here, and both times the food was exemplary! From Biryani to Banjara Kebab (my fav) to mixed kebab platter and Lagan ka Murgh was just simply delicious. The service was attentive as well and their funky cocktails are a refreshing start to the experience. This place has good quality food at a very reasonable price point. Highly recommend!
Wide variety of vegan + gluten free options. One of my favorite spots.
It was great visiting khau gully, all thanks to Akshit.
The food was so authentic and the taste was delicious. Even we went there at closing time but the staff name Nikhil he was so polite and just like his service a lot. Will definitely like to visit again.
Excellent!
Great place with good Food! Been eating lunch there since few days, felt good with quality and quality of food! Keep the good food coming guys!
Food was average at best.
The best Indian food restaurant in Toronto - by far.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto. The service is great and their menu has amazing variety, they really showcase Indian food well. Taste is authentic, highly recommended.
We ordered from Khau Gullys tray menu for a small party. The quality of each dish was impeccable. Undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in town. Highly recommend them for event catering!
Picked up very mediocre butter chicken and chewy naan bread for $40. Very small amount of chicken, gravy was too salty and no taste at all. When you are hungry, even mediocre food tastes good. But apparently not that case here. For a takeout, they expected a tip and I did give a tip. First time at this place. I was trying this restaurant to order for a workplace event. Thank god I tried first. Will never come back again. Please get your butter chicken right.
I never post reviews but my take-out experience here was so disappointing, I hope to save others from the same thing. I paid $30 for butter chicken and naan bread. Most Indian restaurants include complementary rice with the mains but not this place. I figured I could make rice myself to eat with the leftovers, but the amount of chicken I received was comically small. There couldnt have been more than a single chicken breast in the entire dish, shredded into tiny tiny scraps that I had to fish around to find. Normally this order is enough for two meals for me, but this I finished within 10 minutes and Im still hungry! :( Will not be eating here again, a complete waste of money.
Khau Gully is a fun place for Indian food. Their fish fry and Masala Papad are amazing. I also had the Sukha Mutton which was good. Will definitely come back again with my family.
Great place with excellent service. The food was amazing and the deserts was awesome!!!
They do Indian restaurant food the way it s supposed to be done! The Gulab Jamun cheesecake is a must try.
Amazing food, everything came put fast and with very good flavor.
Favourite Indian restaurant in the city
Always an amazing experience. Ordered butter chicken, Achari paneer and breads. The flavour is authentic and feels so good!
One of the best desi restaurants i have ever been too. Every dish on the menu was amazing and all our friends loved it. The best part was the meat platter for us which came with chicken and lamb varieties. Everything was so tender and rich in flavours. Their ambience is very nice and their service was excellent. They kept asking us how we were doing and ensured we get the best service. After 8 years of being in toronto found a gem.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to Aditi and her staff for making our Office Lunch a rousing success. Everyone loved the food, it was delicious and abundant, and your staff was efficient and gracious. Dietary restrictions: Very helpful with Vegan and Gluten Free Options
Average Indian food. Not much smokiness from the kebabs. Naan was decent. Butter chicken was decent. The dessert - gulab jamun cheesecake is quite rich and decadent. Was the highlight of the meal.
Had an amazing experience enjoying dinner with my family. The service provided by Hrithik was excellent.
This was my first time and last. I ordered Naan and paneer makhani. By far the worst Indian food Ive ever had . The makhani tasted ike canned tomato soup . The Naan was thin and burst in some spots and in others it was thick and doughy (almost underdone)
The best Indian food in Toronto. All the dishes are prepared and presented with care. They serve underrated regional Indian dishes that one must try if you like Indian cuisine. The mural on the wall is a sight worth seeing!
Visited again to this amazing Indian Restaurant where flavours and quality are still the same as the first time we dinned in. Keep up the great taste and will definitely be back again Food
Real Food, Real People, Real Experience. We enjoyed the food and felt great with amazing service. We had Mango Majito and Davate Chicken curry.
Chicken biryani was a disaster!
I tried their vegetable Biryani and it was okay. Prices are pretty decent and fair.
I went there twice and both times the food was super delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. The wait period is longer than usual, because both times we went there there was only one staff member who took orders, attended Uber eats drivers and brought food and water to every table. But its a place worth visiting again to try some other kebabs! I had the Banjara kebab once, honestly it was spicier than I thought it would be, but was so good!
Amazing experience, i will recommend to all of my friends and the service provided by hrithik was awesome, he took care of us really well.
We were expecting a lot out of the gulab jamun cheese cake. However, gulab jamuns buried in whipped cream is hardly cheese cake. A bit disappointed.
Khau Galli offers the best Indian food experience! Every dish is a delight. Its a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors!
This cute restaurant in the corner is great to hang out. I loved their little patio where we enjoyed their masala chai and Okra fritters. The chai was really comforting and the Bhindi Pakore were nice and crisp. We also got the paneer tikka dish which was average. The paneer wasn t soft and the taste was bland. The restaurant might serve food as per the diverse audience so you could feel like the spices are less or the food isn t that seasoned as compared to authentic Indian food. But it s not bad either. I like the location especially. Sitting in the patio on the busy street is a great vibe and if that s your thing, you must visit this place.
I had a fantastic experience at Khau Gully. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and the ambiance inviting. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Have an entire vegan menu!
loved everything there. Food and atmosphere is amazing. Must visit for Indian food
perfect it is such a beautiful and delicious experience
This place was suggested by one of the friends. Ordered tea followed by dinner. Masala Chai was prepared with cinnamon, which was a good kick, and will rate it 4/5. In maincourse, we ordered Lasooni Paneer (one of their specialties). Initially, the salt in the dish was on the higher side, and they replaced the dish, which tasted really good, was 4.5/5. Butter Garlic Naan was super awesome, one of the best I had in Toronto, absolute 5/5. Veg Dum Biryani was decent 4/5, a little dry, but flavours were good. Overall, it was a good dining experience.
Good food, good ambience. Owner is really friendly.
This was my first time at Khau Gully and it sure left a lasting impression. It is the first stop as part of Culinary Adventure Cos amazing TABLE TO SHARE Dinner Series, and the owner Aditi pulled out all the stops to ensure we fully enjoyed our experience. She educated us on each dish and what made them unique/specific to different parts of India. We started with 2 drinks, a refreshing KOKUM SHERBET, and I fell in lovvvvve with the TAMARIND WHISKEY SOUR. We then had BHENDI RAJASTHANI (A KHAU GULLY SIGNATURE), yummy BANARASI PANEER TIKKA, PAPDI CHAAT, amaaaaaaazing CHICKEN BANJARA KEBAB, as well as LAMB SEEKH KEBAB. The mains were PINDHI CHOLE, SUKHA MUTTON, DAWAT-E-MURG, VEGETABLE PORIYAL. with JEERA RICE and of course fresh NAAN. For dessert we had THE MOST delectable coconut dessert: TENDER COCONUT PAYASAM. We were all happily stuffed at the end and needed take out containers. Thank you to Aditi, Anisha and their entire family for an unforgettable experience! 10/10!
I have IBS and my diet is extremely strict right now- vegan, gluten free and jain. The staff was so helpful and understanding and provided me with good Indian without onions, butter, wheat or dairy. They went out of their way to cater to my needs. And the food tasted so delicious even without these ingredients. I really appreciate their service and amazing food quality and taste. I would recommend the place for anyone looking for good Indian food even if you are looking for vegan or jain options.
Good food, some what expensive, maybe due to location. Server good, parking on younge is paid.
This is my favourite restaurant in the city. The food is delicious, the place is comfortable with good taste in decoration and the service is exceptional.
Excellent food and service. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options . You can ask how spicy each meal dish is prepared
Food was scrumptious Nikhil was super friendly and his service was extraordinary! Come eat here without hesitation
Great vegan options available. Ask for the separate vegan menu with strong selection of options that tasted great.
I had been craving some Indian cuisine recently, but couldn t find it near my house in the states. Then we found Khau gully when visiting Toronto. The butter chicken is a favorite tender chicken in a creamy sauce. And the naan bread is perfect for dipping. The staff is friendly and helpful, making your dining experience enjoyable.
The food was very okaish here payed high bills for no taste I would say just the veg started platter got us impressed but the main course was a complete disappointment, especially their naan. I have never eaten such hard crispy garlic naam like a papad before. Thought we had to pay just for the good ambience they have! Our non veg frnds enjoyed it a little but I would not recommend for Vegetarian food.
Vegetarian options: The food taste wasn t great and portions were small compared to the price points(for eg paneer tikka for 18-19$ had exactly 6 paneer pieces). There are other way better options available nearby like Tamasha. Food
This was by far the worst Indian restaurant I ve been to. We ordered the tandoori chicken (half) and it just tasted like regular rotisserie chicken. The Kashmiri Rogan Josh lamb just tasted like tomato soup. Not to mention that the quantity was just way too little for the price you pay. Not worth your money, there are better Indian restaurants in GTA
For someone who is very familiar with the kashmiri cuisine, the kashmiri rogan josh was very average. On top of it the quantity you get for $22 was shockingly low. Their tandoori chicken had no flavour, spice or salt. Too average. The only good thing was the roti, which is sad for an indian place. 100% will not come back!!
Best butter chicken ever!
Great option for people looking for authentic Indian food, Cheese Naan and Garlic naan are the must try options and also among a few restaurants that have a Jain food menu. Vegetarian options: Khau Gully on Yonge Street in Toronto exceeded all expectations when it came to catering for our event. Their commitment to delivering the same exceptional quality found in their restaurant experience translates seamlessly into their catering services. The menu options provided a tantalizing array of authentic Indian flavors, and the attention to dietary preferences and special requests was truly commendable. From appetizers to main courses, each dish was a testament to the culinary expertise of the Khau Gully team. What truly stood out was the impeccable presentation and the thoughtful packaging that maintained the freshness of the food. The delivery was punctual, and the setup displayed a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a visually appealing spread for our guests. The catering staff demonstrated professionalism and a genuine passion for ensuring our event was a success. Their flexibility and willingness to accommodate last-minute adjustments showcased a customer-centric approach that left a lasting impression. Choosing Khau Gully for catering not only elevated the gastronomic experience for our guests but also added a touch of authenticity and sophistication to the event. I highly recommend Khau Gullys catering services for anyone seeking a seamless blend of exquisite Indian cuisine and top-notch service.
One of the best Indian food restaurants we have eaten at
Such amazing food! The coconut chicken curry was an absolute delight with such brilliant flavours. Loved the service, they were so caring with such good recommendations.
Parking: Difficult to get Parking. Kid-friendliness: Didnt find many options for Kids on the day of the visit. Food : 4/5 |
Very disappointed! This used to be my favourite biryani place until today. We visited around 2:30 for lunch and ordered chicken biryani and it literally felt as if the they re-heated a 3-4 hour old biryani and served us. Neither the chicken nor the rice was fresh, not even a single cashew (we loved the cashew and fried onions the normally served). Clearly felt like they wanted to get done with the order. We travelled all the way from Etobicoke to enjoy our fav biryani spot but were very disappointed. Giving 2 stars because the server was very nice to us.
The most satisfying restaurant. Has kept up the standard over the years. Always go on my special occasions Food is great, atmosphere good and service is good and attentive More people should try out Would like more new dishes added
The server is so kind!
Food was average, too much ready made masala s. Good ambience.
Khav Gully exceeded our expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service provided by Hritik/Ritik was exceptional. He was polite, attentive, and ensured we had a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant for both the amazing food and top-notch service!
There is nothing you can complain about. Everything is perfectly done and served. Also if you come across server Hrithik then that will be surely helpful to pick favourites. Great place good food and nice vibes
CAD 32/pax incl tax+tip; however, no alcohol, no soft drink, 1 pax w/o main course, no dessert, no coffee, only 1 pax w/tea. kind but very slow service. nice & quiet atmosphere for talking. pro packaging for leftovers. loyalty points earned thru the loyalzoo app. kids menu unavailable. non-alcoholic beer unavailable
Really good food! Their papad masala and tikka chicken was amazing. Really good service, only thing would be if they had some good music in the background that would have been amazing. But overall it s a pretty good place, not upscale and not too casual, kind of in between so it s nice and cozy.
Very attractive service and good food, but the prices are on the very expensive end.
Food was so delicious!!! My dad and I had a wonderful dinner together here. Would definitely recommend the butter chicken (not spicy) and the naan was so delicious. Also loved the cottage cheese with pineapple! Servers were very busy (the restaurant was almost full) so we waited a bit for food but the service was so friendly and we were not in a rush anyway! Can t wait to come back!!
Great restaurant. Good food. We had a Chicken Biryani, Garlic Naan and Lasoni Methi Paneer. These were all great. But the star of the show was the Mulligatawny Soup. I d totally visit again.
Im not an expert in Indian food, but I think the food had amazing tastes and a great portion for the price. The service was great as well.
Fantastic food, great experience and one of the few Indian restaurants with excellent customer service. Varun was our server and he really treated us with care, took time to explain some of the dishes. Food was exceptionally good especially the spinach chicken dish (can t remember the exact name)!! But all in all amazing experience. Will be going there again!!
Very inclusive restaurant. They have a whole other menu for vegan dishes. We had the vegan paneer butter masala, rotis and biryani. Food was great. Ambience and service was very good as well. We had a great time
My favourite place for Indian food in Toronto!!!
A great place to have lip smackingly delicious Indian vegan food! They have a whole menu dedicated to vegan dishes. From their naans, Parathas they have tofu replacing paneer and have created a whole lot of flavourful, well cooked dishes. The broccoli baby corn tandoori starter is so delicious. The tofu tikka masala is even better than the paneer tikka masala. And the sizzling vegan chicken was spectacular. The coriander palak tofu veg along with dal makhani, everything was finger lickingly good. We have been a few times and every time the food has been consistently great. A gem of a place serving awesome vegan food!! A must for all. Dietary restrictions: They cater to vegans Parking: Easy to find parking outside the restaurant on the street
Must try - Bhindi Rajashthani and their Bhagwan planner and Aloo. Mulch s is a next level.
I just had their chefs special - Daawat-e-murg along with paratha and kulcha..generally i do not review foods because i believe their business will not be impacted by any reviews. Now coming to the Daawat-e-murg, it should be renamed to Dust-e-bin, it has shredded chicken pieces (not more than 4) along with few extra over burnt shredded pieces which were left overs. No idea why they call is chefs special gravy, may be because only chef likes this gravy. This is the worst ever i have tried so far in Canada. It is the costliest chicken item in their menu so they will fill the box with gravy to compensate the cost. I could not eat 1/4 portion of this dish because the taste was so so bad and the rest went to dust bin. This was my last order in this restaurant. I am done with indian food in Canada. Better i should start liking burgers and pizzas.
As someone who is new to Indian cuisine, I found it fascinating to try some spicy dishes with good quality and big portion! Chicken Biryany was delicious. Overal a nice start for trying Indian food . Recommend the place Food
Today we had very nice Indian Veg Biriyani with Hot Masala Chai. Wow it was really good tasty and affordable price. Vegetarian options: Veg Biriyani, samosa, veg starter option, masala chai
My go to place for authentic Indian food. Excellent quality and taste.
I wish there were more than 5 stars. It was our first time visiting Khau Gully and everything was amazing. Everyone at the restaurant was very humble, their service is quick and the food is a delicacy. We ordered their Tomato Soup and as someone who craves for that proper Indian taste of soup, I was more than happy to find that in Canada. We ordered Tender Coconut Chicken which was delicious. The taste of coconut curry blended with spinach and with chicken pieces was so flavorsome. I would love to go again and try their other dishes.
We discovered delicious food, excellent service and a warm, comfortable ambience. The delicious food: light, but crispy, fresh vegetable samosas; flavourful, light butter chicken, what seemed just made rice, Naan that, again ,was not heavy but very satisfying, perfect chapati, excellent, spiced, spinach Dahl, two amazing lamb shank dishes, with beautiful delicate spicing.
great food, lovely people and a very nice atmosphere. have ordered online before but i was very happy to physically eat there. terrific experience overall
A heartfelt thank you and a generous tip can go a long way in showing appreciation for exceptional service by Mr. Varun Vegetarian options: Best Vegetarian food ever I ate.
Ive eaten in a couple times and have enjoyed every visit. Everything is so fresh and tasty, makes me crave for their curries and naan when I havent had it in a while. I love bringing friends who arent familiar with Indian cuisine here too so I have an excuse to go back and make them crave it too. ;p Its hard to pick favourites to mention but ordering any of the chicken curries never disappoint me, also the basil garlic paneer is a goodie. Mango lassi is a must when I go and I recently tried the Royal Badam Gulaab Phirni (traditional rice pudding) which is a new favourite. Staff are also so sweet and excited when they see people enjoy the food. Theyll usually ask if its your first time visiting and guide you through the menu. I went yesterday but writing this now makes me want to order takeout. ;o;
I dined out at the Khau Gully Markham location for the first time yesterday. I was very satisfied with the quality of good and services. I tried the veg platter, goan fish curry and various naans and roti from the menu.
Really enjoyed the dinner and the service was great. Both Dawat e murg and kashmiri Rogan josh was delicious. Recommend trying this place if you are near by!
Delicious food, great customer service and amazing atmosphere..! Special thanks to Ankit for the excellent service Food
Nice place to dine in in a good neighborhood
Suprised with the Alishan Kabab, chicken tenders served with 6 small pieces which I found overpriced.
Loved the ambience and the food. It was a quick dinner and their service was fast too probably because we went around closing time. The staff was great. Parking can be a challenge but you could park near LCBO or Imperial St nearby.
Yummiest indian food... Bhindi rajashthani is must try.. Vegetarian options: They have vegan options and a separate vegan menu.
Went couple weeks ago. Specially asked if there s any nuts and they said no but we ended up having really bad allergic reactions and needed to be hospitalized. Be alerted!
Great food, great service. Extremely refreshing Indian food that is guaranteed to demand a nap after a sumptuous meal.
Such amazing food at this place. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Large vegan menu for options. Make sure to ask for the vegan menu. Food : 5/5
I had an absolutely delightful experience at khau Gully. The ambiance was charming, the service impeccable, and the food was a true culinary masterpiece. From appetizers to dessert, every dish was a taste sensation. I highly recommend Khau Gully to anyone looking for an exceptional India dining experience!
Very disappointed with the food quality.. good tandoori chicken and biryani tandoori chicken had no salt.. the marinade was slightly raw.. .. biryani was just spicy overall i had high hopes from this place but turns out to be just another indian place that i wont visit.
One of the best indian food places near downtown
Very bad experience, poor quality of food , wont visit again
The food was great excellent hospitality kudos and cheers to the team.
I ve been going to Khau Gully since it opened - the food is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The Dal is my favourite but love the other vegan mains too. This food is cooked with love and and always leaves your belly feeling satisfied. Vegetarian options: Many vegan options to choose from - my faves are the honestly dal and veggies in cashew gravy. Dietary restrictions: The best vegan Indian food in the city
Vegetarian options: Super yummy food and amazing customer service. Highly recommended! Definitely coming back again :-) Food
Not a good place for a vegetarian. The service and ambience was really good but it was hard to sustain all the meat eating odors. This place is definitely for non vegetarians to enjoy.
Khau Gully is an excellent Indian restaurant that offers delicious food and impeccable service. I had an outstanding experience dining in. The staffs were polite, helpful, and quick, making my dining experience enjoyable. The restaurant has a warm and cozy ambiance, making it perfect for a family dinner or a night out with friends. I highly recommend Khau Gully to anyone looking for authentic Indian food with a contemporary twist.
We were recommended Khau Gully by some friends. And omg Im glad for it.. The food, service, attention to detail and everything was super amazing. We ordered a few new items on the menu and were so happy to have done that. The goat meat was tender and lip smacking. We dont find goat meat dishes often on menus. The biryani flavors were to die for. The Chicken Bahar was an eye catcher with two different gravies. Delicious!! We are coming back and getting trays of food for our Diwali get together. A must visit!! My mum a vegetarian had an array of choices. They also have a Vegan menu...
Great taste, loved the samosa.
Excellent service and food. Our server described the menu and make great suggestions S based on our food preferences. We enjoyed our meal and will certainly return Food
We ordered delivery from KHAU GULLY and the food was very good. We had some issues ordering online from the website so, we called them and they were willing to accommodate our order via Uber Eats instead.
Its not up to par with other Indian restaurants in the city. The dishes we had ordered were lacking salt and flavour. Definitely a spot catered to the stereotypical non Indian spice pallet. Its unassuming and misrepresenting of Indian street food.
We have been to Khau Gully multiple times and it never fails to disappoint! Finding good Indian food in Toronto is always a hit or miss. Often, indian food is greasy, overly salted, ladened with cream and lacking any originality. Khau Gully on the other hand continues to reign for its deep flavours and unique bites. This time we had the mushroom koliwada - deep fried mushrooms coated in a spicy, crunchy batter. Though there was a lot of flavour to these nuggets - they have yet to master the art of frying mushrooms without logging them with oil because of the high moisture content of mushrooms. For mains we had the kashmiri rogan josh, lasooni dhaniya paneer, and dum biryani, chicken. The rogan josh was delicious and full of flavour. The meat was tender and juicy. The paneer was soft and melted into the spinach gravy that actually tasted like spinach! We have had the dum biryani many times and it is always delicious - deep in flavour, perfectly cooked rice and with tender pieces of meat. Khau Gully reigns in flavours but SEVERELY lacks in service. Their service is often slow and repetitive with multiple wait staff asking you similar qs over and over again.
Great food and very positive vibe! The naans were soft and delicious! We tried their vegetarian offerings and they were all really good. I would recommend this restaurant!
Expensive place
Update:- Tried the Dawat-e-murg gravy. It did not taste good. I regret ordering it. Hence I have reduced the overall rating to 3 stars Also, the biriyani does not taste good anymore. I used to order it frequently about 2 years ago when it used to taste good but not anymore Previous 4 star review:- So far I have tried chicken, mutton, shrimp dum biriyani as well as butter naan and chicken tikka masala from this place. I felt that chicken and shrimp biriyani were better than mutton. Its disappointing to see that they dont give mirchi ka salan along with biriyani. The dum biriyani rice has a very good taste and you can customize spice levels The chicken tikka masala too has a good taste but there is room for a little improvement in terms of flavor. The flavor and spice were not well balanced but compared to the chicken tikka masala served in most other places the one served here is better Their customer service is pretty good too
Absolutely wicked spot for Indian food. Staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations. Loved the chicken appetizer. Loved the whole meal but the chicken appetizer really stood out to me. Mango lassi is great as well.
Good food. The spinach paneer was a highlight!
Didnt like the biryani
Amazing restaurant, tasty food! A must visit for great Indian food
Best Indian food in Midtown. Top notch service.
chicken tikka masala would be better if it has a bit more spice to it. Not lot of chicken pieces.
Food was really good, tasty and good spice level too. Just a small downside, quantity is too low based on the pricing. But must visit for its food taste and options!
This was one of my best places to enjoy the fish appetizers and the Kerala fish curry but last 2 or 3 times the quality of the fish curry has diminished. Earlier the gravy would be thick and flavorful but now all I can taste is watery soup which is not worth the price anymore. Time to find a different fish place.
The dishes here had excellent flavour (the Dawat-e-Murg was especially good) and the food arrived rather quickly. We are grateful to have been allowed a table even though the kitchen had just alerted last call from the kitchen. I recommend going earlier than we did so you can slowly savour the excellent food here.
If theres a biryani paradise in Toronto, its definitely at Khau Gully! The cities best biryani resides here and every bite is a taste of pure magic. The fragrant basmati rice and a secret blend of masalas created a symphony for my taste buds. I will most certainly be back for more
Updated review on portion size after restaurant s reply below but retained the 1-star rating due to stomach upset in both people who ate the dal.
Update Owner Aditi got my number and called and apologized, provided the update. It was merely an issue with use of onion and due to heat that created the smell. She also clarified the refund part. Happy the way they handled. Merely a communication issue. All resolved. They won my trust and taste buds back. Rotten food I have been ordering from them for a long time and had always loved their food and hospitality. However, this last time they gave me Rotten veg biryani, which I was not expecting from them. The manager was humble and said she will refund the money but they never did. I did drive back to give them their food. She was sorry but I wanted to understand how this happened and was expecting to let me know what was it..as I had a few bites of the food and was worried about my health. No follow up. 2 stars for their politeness but will never order again. Given their standard I was expecting they must be quality checking each dish before delivery. Also, most scary is how much stale food they keep in their kitchen that they don t get to know when food gets rotten. Overall it was my 1 hour waste and 10 Kmart drive for bad experience.
