I had a truly disappointing experience. The food was inedible—overcooked, poorly seasoned, and just not up to standard. However, the worst part of the experience was the service. Our server, Raul, was incredibly rude and dismissive, making the whole meal even more uncomfortable. We felt unwelcome and ignored. This was a wasted visit, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.
Enjoyed the salmon dish, very tasty. Our reservations were at 5:30 so it was very quiet so we had lots of attention. Service was excellent as well.
I went for dinner on 2nd August at King Street Social Restaurant and Bar. I had made a reservation for 5 people at 7 pm with Sabina the hostess and informed her that I am an employee at Hyatt Place Toronto/Mississauga Centre and provided her my GID number. I confirmed with her if I would be getting a 50% discount if I come to Dine in only and she said yes and mentioned she would inform the Server for the day as well to make sure we have a good evening. When I went in and finished dining, I informed politely checked with the server (Raul) if he was aware of the discount and had applied it to the bill. He mentioned that as per the policy we need to be staying at the hotel property to avail the discount. I informed him that Sabina had confirmed that we could avail it even if we are not staying at the hotel. We still went ahead and made the payment for the $218.09. After he noticed that we didn’t tip on the machine, he got frustrated tore out the payment slip and hit it on the table expressing anger. We were going to tip in cash but after seeing the reaction we changed our decision. While leaving my friends told him “Thank you, Good night”, he ignored them. When I told him “Thank you, Good night”, he looked at him with an angry face and continued to clear the tables. This morning, When I spoke to the hostess (from last evening), she mentioned that after we left, Raul went to her to inform that we only came to dine because of the discount. This is very insulting and disrespectful.
I would suggest this place as a good date spot. Looks great, quiet and can have a conversation. Tucked away in the lower level of the hotel with a backdrop of a waterfall fountain. Not sure why it is not more popular than it is. Staff was very kind and nice. Menu is limited but cooked very well and food was fresh. We had a fixed menu experience. Appetizers were fantastic. We had the broccoli cheese soup and onion soup(a tad on the saltier side) Chicken was flavored extremely well and tender. Salmon was over cooked but a decent quantity. The plating was gorgeous and alot of care was put into the presentation of the dishes. Desserts wow. Will come here just for this! Both Cheesecake and tiramisu were fantastic
We were advised to make a reservation in the evening, but arriving at 7:30pm we apparently missed the rush as people left for the theatre. So it was quiet to start. We were warmly welcomed by the host Shahnaz and waited on attentively by Tannaz. We decided to go with the Prix Fixe menu using a Groupon and were not disappointed. There was a perfect rest between each course starting with French onion soup, salmon on a bed of stir-fried vegetable and accompanied by a glass of Chardonnay. Dessert was apple tart a la mode. All in all, a very enjoyable two hours and our interaction with the staff made it more so.
Loved the place! Visited king street social on my birthday. Chef Ilanchei was wonderful and made beautiful dishes. He also prepared a special dessert to celebrate my birthday. Even the server Ronnie was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to give us a memorable experience. I definitely recommend this place for any special occasion or dinner with your loved ones.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Toronto Hotel on King Street West Downtown and so we decided to try the buffet breakfast in the restaurant just located in the basement of the hotel. It is available until 10:30am. They have a great variety. The food quality was high. Everything was very fresh and the service was excellent too. It was quite pricey for a breakfast but given the high standard it was totally worth it. I do recommend it if you happen to stay in this hotel or nearby.
Not coming back. I don’t know if it’s because the dinner we had was a Groupon deal or it was supposed to be like that, my bf and I were very disappointed. As you can see the soup was sitting in the kitchen too long, so it had a layer of “skin” when they served it to us. Presentation: 1/5. Beets were burned, they were completely black. I couldn’t tell it was a beet... and speed of service was very slow. We waited for 45 minuets to get our starters. And it was not busy at all. After starters, we had to wait another 45 minutes to get our steak and trout. Fish was dry and over cooked. Steak was excellent! 8/10. Staff was standing right between two tables and giving me a butt when he was talking to another table.... 🤦🏻♀️ For those who need to park, make sure you park under tiff, it s only $7 after 5pm on weekdays. Food: 5/10 Environment: 8/10 Value: 3/10 Location/ convenience: 10/10 Services: 4.5/10
Sat there waiting nobody showed up but had no issues staring at me and walking right by me.
buffet a bit expensive for 3 people..but still good..nice variety..very good service..we expect that in a hotel of this caliber..dont hesitate to go a la carte when you dont youre not very hungry

I had a breakfast of buttermilk pancakes with sausage and coffee. Pancakes were thin rubbery pucks, difficult to cut. Blueberry compote was tasty. Sausage and coffee were rather disappointing. Expensive.
We found this through Groupon. Location on King St Toronto. Its on the lower floor. Seems a little closed in. They have this dark curtain blocking everything. The deal included soup, main course, dessert & a drink. They were nice enough to switch my wine to a beer - dont drink wine. Had the salmon. It was okay but not super great. It came on a bed of potatoes & veggies. Okay! Had the French onion soup. A bit salty. Oh yes, there was a dessert. It too was good but not super exciting. Service was good but found the experience expensive. Our four meals came out (according to the bill) $189.00 (pre shame tip). Being a bit picky here as usually prefer beef, thought it was pricey. Would I go back? May, but not anytime soon. Location close to theatre. This area seems to be pricey.

I attended the restaurant hoping to get a light fare and a couple of drinks while waiting on a friend. Well, within the opening hours... I got told to go up back to the hotel and get seated in the lobby bar instead. That was an odd start, to say the least! I chose the roasted beet salad. I had to ask for another serving of the dressing as the salad came bone dry. The plate was uninspired. The Old Fashionned was meh, but the Gin Fizz was good.

Great servers Immaculate table cover and dishes French onion soup didn t have much onion and had minimal amount of cheese on top , only small amount of cheese was sprinkled to the middle of the bowl . Salmon was below average for a restaurant but had nice presentation. Tiramisu was very tasty .

I had high expectations about this place until I had dinner there and was totally disappointed. I had the prix fixe which included and appetizer, entre, dessert, and 2 classes of wine. The atmosphere was not very warm but rather has the feel of a cafeteria with uncomfortable seating. The service was adequate, but the food was totally disappointing. My steak was well done when I asked for medium rare, and the vegetables were hard and seemed undercooked. The dessert was good, but when we wanted our bill, seemed the waiter was on his break and we waited 15 minutes or more until we saw another server who got us the bill. I would have never paid the full price for this meal, so 2-stars because of the prix fixe discount.

Great restaurant and bar. Comfortable rooftop, and great food. Had good vegetarian options and gluten free too. Would recommend for a chill meal out with friends.
The place was not busy for Christmas so we made last minute reservations to go. 1. We were given the set christmas menu as well as regular menu. When we chose from the regular menu, the server told us we cannot choose from the regular menu tonight. Dont provide customers with the regular menu if it is not available. 2. The server kept treating us like kids calling us hun or sweetie and kept touching our shoulders. 3. At the time of ordering, the server told us that the dessert on the set menu was not available anymore so theyve prepared an alternative as fudge cake which was fine but when the time came to take our dessert, they told us even the fudge dessert is out so they brought us apple crumble without even asking if we would like it as an alternative. I am allergic to apples. Overall, the service was slow and food was very dry. The servers were not trained and very nervous the whole night tripping over chairs of customers. It seems like 3 servers were having difficulties serving 10-12 tables. We still tipped because we could see that the servers were trying hard even through the disastrous situation that was happening all around and we did feel sorry for them...but we could hear that all the tables were frustrated with the dry food and the poor level of service. We observed alot of customers just walking out half way through the meal.
Food were over cooked and dried. My salmon and steak.. server kept over pouring my drink to a point where it overflows and spills onto the table.. twice. It wasn t even busy because I went on a Wednesday.
Just ok. Coho salmon was extremely dry (overcooked unfortunately) and I feel twice as bad as I recommended it to my wife. Brisket item was tender however although being a specialty (in-house smoked) it lacked flavour
Had the fixed menu using a Groupon 89$ and tax. The chicken and manicotti were very good. Included 3 courses. Great presentation and very good service. The Groupon also included a glass of wine. Would definitely go here again.
Bought the groupon for here and my sister and I went on our sisters weekend. Little fancier food from what I am used to but it was really good and the staff was really nice!
Usually I dont go to hotels (especially chain ones) for food as its generally a bit underwhelming. The service was fine, food was alright but nothing to write home about.
We went for Valentines day. I got the cod, which was extremely bland. I needed to douce all of the food in salt to add some kind of flavour to it. The coconut rice texture was inconsistent. The gnocchi wasnt bad. The waitress was good, but she did not ask about allergies to foods at the beginning, so a few of the dishes I got had foods I was allergic to, but luckily I can get by even if they touch. There was no drink menu present on the tables. The person who came by with the fresh pepper only put it on one part of both of our dishes and did not keep going until we said stop. This is a small thing, but there was a flower vase with a rose in the middle of the table so good luck seeing your partner across the table unless you moved it to the side, which we did. Lastly, one of the people refilling the water was staring at the table, which he did multiple times. This was a bit annoying when you feel a stare at your table while youre trying to have a conversation. The experience felt very amateur. Final verdict: Overpriced and overrated. Would not recommend.

We went here to celebrate a birthday. The staff has been outstanding! Very friendly, welcoming and attentive! Food was delicious and there were many vegetarian options from appetizers to desserts. We ordered few drinks at the bar after and they were also very good. We will come back!

Worse customers service ever. We booked for a table 1 week ahead of time yet when we got there they didnt even have enough staff. It wasnt even busy. We sat there for 30 minutes no one came to take our orders, not even an offer to serve us drinks. Then finally we got fed up and asked, and the server said that it will take another hour for the food to be served. We had enough and left. Will never go there again.
Had breakfast here. I had the Canadian skillet with 3 egg whites, grilled vegetables, sausages and cheese. It was delicious and delightful.
Amazing food and great service at this restaurant. We came here with a coupon for a package deal. Could not of been happier. The service is outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommending this restaurant to anyone who is in the city.

Over all ok. Sunday dinner. So, quite empty. Service is very... how do I put this... numb However food was better than expected. But wouldnt come down town just to eat here. Like the not overwhelm menu. So. At least they are confident on whats on the menu.
I went there for breakfast. I was a bit disappointed because the plate I ordered did not match the description. It was supposed to be french toasts with roasted fruits, but the fruits were not roasted. Also, they offered us some coffee and orange juice, and the way they offered it, I thought it was complimentary, but it was not.

Service was extremely slow. We ate there at noon on a Sunday and we were the ONLY people there so I dont undertstand why the food took so long. Even after the meal, I ordered an ice cream for my kid and it took so long that I finally complained to the waiter...one ice cream scoop! And they werent even busy. One waiter said that they didnt have childrens menu when in fact they did. The food was not good and not worth the wait. My husband had the chicken curry and I had the salmon. Very basic and too overpriced. there are many other good places to eat on King.

I had 5 days of breakfast at this place and its amazing, I actually met a Vietnamese chef and I am also Vietnamese too, it was really nice to see someone come from same country as me and he was really nice and friendly and extremely helpful. Raj, a waiter at this restaurant was also really nice, friendly, and helpful. Raj, the chef, and the atmosphere and also the food brought me the best experience at the restaurant. Will definitely come back
