12 Kensington Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2K1, Canada
Warm, brick-clad outpost offering hearty pub staples alongside beer, wine & cocktails.
If you’re a vegetarian then this restaurant is best option for you :) Special Expresso Martini was awesome Overall 10/10 experience
Had a nice and relaxing lunch in here. Enjoyed the patio without the tourist crowd. Excellent service. The beer and burger were pretty good too. Keep it up👍
A chill, iconic spot in Kensington. Somehow I've lived downtown for almost 20 years and hadn't been inside. Simple, cheap eats and drinks, great service. Tatiana was our server, and was super lovely with great energy. Hole and other older alt bands were playing over the speakers, and for a second I remembered why I love living in Toronto - it's a very specific vibe. Reminds me of a nicer JAVA (Queen and Augusta.) Let's keep small businesses alive in Kensington. <3
Came here with friends who are quite familiar with the spot and even they were very disappointed. Ambience & cleanliness: Was okay, sat outside on the small patio on the sidewalk. Inside seemed okay, nothing special to write home about. Food: If the term "mid" was to be embodied anywhere, it would be here. We ordered the chicken swiss sandwich as well as the kielbassa sandwhich. The chicken was cooked OK, a bit on the dry side and aside from the cheese and a couple there was nothing to give it any flavour. There wasn't any sauce whatsoever so it was very bland. The kielbassa sandwhich was an extremely disappointing sandwhich. It was literally just a few pieces of slightly warmed kielbassa on a DRY piece of toast with a couple fried onions on top. The bread wasn't even buttered. My friend was very dissatisfied and just ate the pieces of kielbassa and left the bread untouched. Customer service: When the server eventually came around and asked how things were, he did not even clear the plate from the table. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, I had counted 8 tables between inside and out so it didn't make sense why it took so long for the servers to check in on us for drinks/ quality checks/ the bill. The server was friendly enough but the service itself was lacking. Price: Price seemed okay at first glance, but given the small portions of food and the fact they charge $4.50 for fries doesn't make it worth it. You don't even get a decent amount of fries, just a few wedges. We all left still hungry and stopped to get more food elsewhere. Accessibility: Washrooms are downstairs and you would be unable to access them if you were in a wheelchair or required mobility aids. Wouldn't really reccomend coming here for food.
I’m seeing mixed reviews but I went on Sunday around 2pm and had a wonderful experience. Food is very simple but I appreciate that more than unnecessarily complicated dishes. Servers were all very nice and checked in on us many times. We sat in between the patio/indoor area and it was absolutely perfect. I don’t live near by but will be back for sure!
Not expecting anything perfect, but at least edible food. I only eat a few bites to make sure about the taste. Nothing is fresh. Ordered Greek and pesto pizza and they come with salad. There is no way that pizza can taste this bad. Unfortunately only recommend bottled beers from this place, as it is the safest option.
Gorgeous terrace, good menu and daily specials. Our server spoke Spanish, she was so nice. Food, basically sandwiches and burritos, was delicious. Drinks were nice as well, nice choice of beers. All in all, a good experience in the market area. So recommend.
Stopped in with a few friends for a round of drinks to start an evening if bar hopping. The server was friendly and seemed nice enough, not sure though but the atmosphere was "off", can't really describe it. Maybe it was the news on tv about the devastation going on from the hurricane mixed with the chill music being played. Or, perhaps I wasn't feeling the vibe. But a cozy place none the less. The food that was cooking smelled pretty good. The drinks were amazing, all 5 of us very much enjoyed what we ordered (not listed in picture order: blue rain, blanchedechembly, jameson toddy, hot apple ciderw/rum)
this place is a classic excellent spot for cheap good food. never disappoints Food : 5/5
This place is an institution.
Been eating there for years. Affordable and good food, staff is always great, good music. Best French toast. Cant beat the value so close to downtown. Love this place.
Had a great lunch here over the labour day.
The owner is the best! Everyone is very welcoming and the service was amazing.
Went in at 3 for a bite to eat. Food was about what you d get for the price but pretty good. Good fast service and if you re just looking for something quick to fill you up would definitely stop in.
Kensington Market patio with good pints.
Great little spot in kensington market for a drink but I wouldnt recommend the food so much
I liked the food. Had the roasted garlic and Brie. Wish they removed the garlic peel. Good courteous service, though not the kind where a server will always be within view to hail after being served orders. Place has a comfortable feel to it. A bit dim and theres a smell of what seems like incense.
An institution in Kensington for a reason. Great service and the best atmosphere!
Just a break for a drink Friendly atmosphere Adorable service (and in French) to help me compose a non-alcoholic cocktail which was not on the menu, really nice
Visiting Toronto and stopped by early afternoon. Was pleasantly surprised how good the pricing was. Nice hole in the wall atmosphere too.
Cheap, but we found a piece of a plastic bag in our quesadilla...
A viby spot in Kensington, I enjoyed my drinks here. Kensington has changed over the years but its nice to see that low key bars are still around.
We ordered two pita pizzas. We couldn t eat anything. Nothing was fresh. The vegetables were so old that their colours had changed. We had to go somewhere else to eat. I definitely do not recommend it.
Might be my new favorite spot! Great patio and the drinks were affordable .
ATTN: CHILI CHEESE ~LIE~ I ordered a chili cheese fry. what I received was fried potatoes with a very thin layer of chili and a decent layer of cheese. On the menu, it is clearly labelled as chili cheese FRIES, which implies a predominant chili element, as well as a french fry component. please rectify this false advertisement immediately!! very concerning......... otherwise a very good place, have been several times.
My favourite spot in Kensington. Dont miss the Pad Thai
I dined here on the patio on a busy Saturday afternoon (April 6th) and I was treated horribly by the waitress. I was waiting for my second beer and when I asked her, she accused me that she already gave me a second beer and that I was lying... she treated me like I was a criminal... Then when the bill came she continued to be mean and treat me like a criminal. I told her 100% sure she didnt give me a second beer and that I was not trying to scam her out of $7. After much debate she took the beer off my bill but overall left a really bad taste in my mouth as Ive never been treated so poorly. I hope you train your staff better or have a better control system so that this doesnt happen to an innocent customer again.
Amazing music, amazing service, amazing food (everything on the menu seemed so good) at an amazing price! Highly recommend
Laid back spot, friendly service, very fair prices. Can t ask for much else.
Amazing food and service at a very affordable price range for Toronto. We got the avocado and brie sandwich with a few drinks. It was delicious!
Great sangria
Nice staff, great atmosphere, prices were very fair.
I have no words .. this was the Brie & Roasted Garlic appetizer ..
Plenty drink options, ideal locashe, chill prices
It was a busy night when we got there. No one came to our table until called upon. We ordered our appetizers. After when our friends came they ordered their food. We were then told to reorder the appetizers because they didnt get it. So, we reordered the appetizers later, and all the appetizers came in double. We kept saying no, we got the food already. The service was slow, but the server had a nice attitude. The owner was very nice. The food was decent the drinks was good.
I always come here for drinks! Its great food & cheap drinks :)
This is the place where you go for a relaxing time with your friends/coworkers after a long day at work. Servers are very friendly. Food and drinks are very affordable comparing to most of restaurants in downtown entertainment district. Highly recommended to everyone who are visiting downtown Toronto.
Sangrias and hummus dip were awesome. Atmosphere is top and servers super attentive.we love this place
Had a chicken pad thai had zero taste! The hot sauce didn t make it taste any better!
Love this little gem. Great food and drinks at a reasonable cost with lovely staff.
Great atmosphere, food and bevvies!
Ive been coming here for years and food and beer is cheap. The Pad Thai is particularly good.
It s really great restaurant to bring friends along. The atmosphere is nice, and the friendly server enchants the dining experience. I also ordered a shrimp omelette, which was delicious and satisfying!
Good vibe Big volume of cocktail, Nice service & flavor shots from our server, Shutout Exel ( )
Food is good and very reasonably priced. Servers are always friendly. Some dishes are definitely done better than others. I recommend the quesadilla, the homemade fries , the spring rolls, the pad thai and the breakfast items. Highly recommend the Vietnamese ice coffee.
Great spot!! Nice ambience, value for money, food could be more flavorful. And better staffed as in summer the patio gets busy and no fun waiting.
To visit without moderation
Delicious food, great prices and top tier customer service. Dog friendly too.
Ambience 11/10
Great Caesars here and the curry chicken is delicious
Ordered a couple of nice cocktails. Affordable prices, good quality and service
My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE place in Kensington Market Toronto. Family friendly, amazing food, best staff, friendly warm and welcoming atmosphere to dine alone or with friends. Check out their cocktail and wine list!!
Best Jager Bomb in town.
Good vibes atmosphere for a first date. Super friendly staff! Neighborhood bar.
Good beer and fries, and a friendly place.
Disgusting!
Great price and service. The atmospheric environment is like a good sitcom filming set (meant as a compliment).
Our favourite spot in Toronto we come here so often we ve become friends with a few of the servers and the owners. The vibes are always immaculate and drinks are so good. Definitely a Kensington gem.
Bad service, our waiter spent 30 minutes talking to one of her friends instead of take our order
Great atmosphere and fast service! 10/10 would recommend
Love this place! Great service, good food, and cool atmosphere. Definitely recommend
I got their pad Thai for take out, it was OK. Seems like a nice spot to just go for drinks on a weekend if you like busy atmospheres
Nice location....
Cozy restaurant with a small terrace from where you can watch the hustle and bustle on the street. The staff were friendly and the drinks were tasty.
great service, delicious food. Awesome atmosphere
Rude servers
Great prices, atmosphere and location. Hoghly recommend.
Charming place but wow, both the food and service were a let down
Great patio with a wide variety of items from various cuisines across the world. The spring rolls with peanut sauce was recommended and the drought beer was cold and delicious
Great food and staff. Enjoyed a beautiful day on their patio. Try their pitcher of Sangria Kid-friendliness: Great staff all around. So friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Washroom is in the basement and steps leading into the restaurant. The patio would work for you if the steps were an issue
I love this place for its location, prices, and just ease. The food isn t the best but it s fresh, inexpensive, consistent and there s a lot of choices. It s a great place for an afternoon drink and snack.
Do not go here. Let me preface by saying that I NEVER write google reviews so this was truly an awful enough experience for me to be writing one. I went to Last Temptation with some friends and we all ordered some food and drinks. At the end of the our meal we received our bills and after the first person paid the server (a blonde/ginger girl with mid length curly/wavy hair and blue mascara) immediately began questioning us if something was wrong and making very rude, snarky and extremely inappropriate comments about how much we were tipping such as wow you guys are tipping low etc. She made these comments multiple times and then proceeded to ask where we were from, implying we must be from a place that doesnt tip. Mind you, we all generously tipped the standard tipping rate in Toronto if not more. As someone who has worked in the service industry in Toronto, I was truly appalled by this behaviour and will honestly never be going back here again after this experience. Any professional in the service industry knows that you never discuss tips and especially dont call out customers for paying the standard tip.
Amazing place for pitcher of sangria
This is my local and I love it. The perfect ensemble of grunge, rockabilly, poetry and Kensington in a bar. The owners are wonderful as are the staff!
The service was perfect thanks to the team who works there!
We had great time, good food and prices, the staff was very nice
Our server was sweet and friendly - no complaints there. Service was rather slow but it was busy with only two servers so they seemed to be doing their best. However to be honest, the drink prices are the best thing about this place. The food is also reasonably priced but it is very basic. What is concerning is how filthy the shared items were: menus - filthy! sugar jar - filthy! salt and pepper shakers - filthy. Filthy and gross. And I mean, food crud and grime. The menus just need a regular wiping and the shakers can be run through the dishwasher every few days.
Basic food and drinks. Go heee for the summer vibes and a good time. Spicy chicken entree was good
Favorite spot in Kensington for beers. Great patio and service.
What a beautiful street! A beautiful atmosphere and great service. THANKS!
Youre missing out if you have not been here for Sunday brunch.
Love the vibe and music. Cocktails below 10$ oh heeeell yea
Cheap and bad food. Noise and loud music in the back room. Not a good experience. Good if you want to have a Beer but do not expect to eat correctly (fake meat in the burger and frozen fries not tasty)
Very popular very affordable located in Kensington Market
Pad Thai was ok. Lots of chicken and green onion, but lacking flavour. Even the bottle of chili oil couldnt save it. Prices are very good though.
Not a bad spot at the price point. Didn t try the food based on reviews but they have cheap drinks and cocktails though the drinks could have tasted better. Guess you get what you pay for. Service was very nice though.
Fantastic Food and Staff!!!
All my memories are here. Miss the fish tank so much.
Wow. Great fish tank! One dead fish tho being eaten by the other fish :( cannibals. Paint is sticky on the tables, no soap. No gummy bears in the gummy bear cocktail, misleading. The server was working behind the bar. Good chair to table ratio but some carpets would be nice. You can sit anywhere you want as long as it s a chair. Did not order off the menu but was tempted to eat the cockroaches in the basement. Kid-friendliness: No kids
A local gem in Kensington
Great and friendly staff
The Last Temptation used to be a favorite of mine for years as I lived in the area, but my last visit left me speechless at the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Despite repeatedly checking in with our waiter, after an hour, only half of our tables food arrived with no explanation or apology for the delay, while other orders continued to come out to other tables. Naturally, we paid for what did arrive, and left. The waiters were unapologetic and disgracefully rude. I can only say I hope their staff find employment elsewhere because they clearly do not care about their otherwise loyal patrons. This reflects shamefully on the otherwise friendly and fun Kensington community. We went to Film Cafe just up the street instead, where the manager Amaranta greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home straight away. That is the Kensington that I remember, not the degrading display at The Last Temptation. Needless to say we will never step foot in there for as long as its still in business.
Ive been in Toronto for 5 months and this place give me the worst experience that i ever had in Toronto, we order drinks and meals for 7 people, just 2 meals arrived, we asked 3 times what happened with the other meals and they said that was a mistake in the kitchen, at the very ending of the night, when we were leaving after waiting for 1 hour for our meals, the manager told us that the meals never arrive cause we were noisy, and in every table of the place the people were talking louder than us, they punish us not giving us the meals for been Latinos and according to them noisy (what can be considered racist), and when we tried to speak with them, the manager just leave saying that he knows we will never come back, so I didnt make sense have a conversation about the problem, also de waitress was so rude with us, telling us that she doesnt have to go to apologize and arguing with us cause we told her that she should went to the table to explain the problem before we goes to the bar to ask for it. Awful experience.
very cheap drinks and food and very good!
Great local drinking spot in the market.
Best spring rolls, awesome beer selection. Staff is hit and miss, the owner is a gem.
best place for a date, get together or even just dinner. with amazing but affordable drinks and food options, one can have a great night with just $25, leaving with a full belly and a little bit tipsy. It will always be my go to place.
Fun place
Great patio, service and sangria :)
Good food, good beer, good price. Chill atmosphere.
Pita bread and chicken wings had ZERO taste. Sangria tasted like straight wine. Although nachos tasted great, small portion. Giving it 3 stars simply for the great service.
Bless place to go with anyone
Quite and friendly atmosphere love the vibes
Considering Im going out somwhere else tonight its safe to say it wasnt my laaaassst temptation but it certainly was a temptation. Friendly staff, fair prices, nice patio. This wont be my last recommendation
Ordered the chicken noodles dish and it was as bland as anything. Not a drop of seasoning. Service was ok. I like to judge a place on cleanliness, everything was just a little bit sticky. Dont think Ill be coming back here.
Had a blast there.
Very, very average. Nothing special.
Came for a couple beers. My card didnt work, so the server took it out of the machine and threw it on the table. Need better service for sure.
Pretty good place. Get the pad Thai, pasta special or burger special.
The service and food is always impeccable. We had such a good time for our girls night. We sat out on the patio because as per usual they were at full capacity inside. Even though it was raining we did not get wet at all. The owner came out and took special care making sure we had everything we needed and were warm enough. Love you forever last temp
Great relaxing restaurant with lots of alcohol variety- very reasonable prices for food
Cool spot with great prices and great food. Staff were fantastic
Much love for Nicola! Great prices, cool vibes.
Good atmosphere and environment . Food is good and drinks are always good. Music is good too if your into cover songs and bands. All in all. Most definitely recommend this place
Serve good food at reasonable price, also at midnight
The cutest Kensington Market bar. Live music at the back. Theres food too its cheap and plentiful plus super friendly vibes
Dive bar with good cheap food, selection of beer and friendly staff.
Family run, surprisingly good food, and reasonable (old school Kensington Market prices!!) so whats not to love? Oh, and thet have a Foosball table!
The best place to be chill, get good value for your money and enjoy kensington market. Try the avocado and brie sandwich to start the next phase of your life
Good deals
Nachos and pad Thai were so fresh!
Good cozy spot for drinks
Got a sandwich and there was bug fried into the bread. Pretty gross place.
Great food, cheap drinks friendly staff nice ambience. Great date place or just somewhere to hang with friends.
Good service. I recommend the Pad Thai.
Love this place great atmosphere and super engaging owner. If you happen to find yourself here ask for Trow, tell him Patrick sent you.
Good place to have a break
Drinks are good and bartender is a cutie
Good food and good service
Hole in the wall but its a keeper
Great low-key local spot. Dont expect fast service but this place is a gem within Torontos Kensington Market.
It was pedestrian Sunday, and we could hear the live music outside. The service was friendly and fast. Neat little spot thats been in the market for ages.
Prices are good. Sangria is great. Food was meh.
Awful...terrible...and other no good words.
My favourite homie bar in Kensington Market. Home made food, cheap brew ( for Toronto) and always a friendly crowd.
A dive and I mean that in a good way. Dont except anything but good prices and a good atmosphere.
If you like Nirvana, Green Room, Java House or any spots with the same vibes and menu, youre on track. This spot offers affordable food with a chill atmosphere. Hit or miss with service, so I wouldnt recommend it if youre in a rush.
Loud and young
Good food and beer, although the service could have been better.
