A modern-day brewpub and BBQ joint, Liberty Commons honours the history and hustle of the ‘hood and celebrates the union of good food and good beer in good company. As Oliver & Bonacini and Big Rock Brewery team up here, mad chefs meet mad hops and invite you to feast on a true food and brew collaboration in a beauty of a space. A pitcher perfect marriage!
They have some tasty things on the brunch menu. Good service, good atmosphere, hidden gem in Liberty Village. The Brisket kept me full most of the.
Pre show dinner and birthday celebration. There was a signed card for the 13 yr old birthday girl. Food was fantastic as was the service from Bee. We shared the nachos which was more than enough for the four of us, and I highly recommend. The tuna tartare appetizer was so fresh and equally delicious. Our meals were steak and fries, fish and chips, fish tacos and the Sunday dinner; roast, potatoes, yours bite pudding and vegetables. All fabulous dishes. Rounded out the meal with churros for the birthday girl. Perfect ending.
Always enjoy a stopover at Big Rock Liberty Commons. Tap room is a great spot to enjoy some tasty pints and solid eats. Always a variety of brews to enjoy and some tasty snacks. This venture to Liberty Commons coincided with their burger specials. The choice today was quite literally a jalapeno popper in burger form. Great combination of flavour and solid heat from the jalapenos. Current tap list include a stout, an IPA, and a sparkling pale ale that all went down exceptionally well.
Great place to try your favorite IPA in liberty and they have dedicated spot to just sit and have a craft beer or go straight downstairs and get the most welcoming greeting from the staff to have a nice dining experience. Their brisket is soo good and soft and unbelievable and we also tried jerk chicken bowl which was amazingly delicious.
This restaurant is fantastic! We happened upon this place while having our plans disrupted for another location. What a great restaurant. The staff was awesome. The food was delicious. Their conscientious attitude toward gluten-free items was over and above. When I asked for a gluten-free bun for my burger the server also asked if I would like my fries cooked in a special fryer. And, then, when my husband ordered the brisket she asked if he needed special barbeque sauce as there was gluten in the standard sauce. WOW! If we are ever in Toronto and in the area we will definitely revisit.
I took my partner out for dinner on his birthday and oh boy was it worth it! Service was great and food was really good! I am a fan of fried chicken sandwich and this one was a good one! My partner really enjugues his steak and we were so full we couldn’t order dessert lol. I’m happy with this choice for his birthday! We’ll be certainly coming back. 😊
A staple of Liberty Village! I don't often come here as plans take me elsewhere, but whenever I do they have some great eats and an ever-fresh selection of brewed-in-house beers (and more). The Brisket was divine, the best I've tasted outside of Texas and the Sunday Roast is great too if you happen to go then. Great service and atmosphere, a lot of screens all around if you plan to watch a live game.
Giving 5 stars for the service, and the food was great except for the brisket, which tasted delicious however was very dry and somewhat tough. The three small slices for $29 was also very overpriced. The BBQ burger and everything else was excellent, as were the beers. I would recommend this place, but not the brisket.
I loved the quality and consistency of the food here. I will be back!
Molly was my Bartender. Never met or been here before but she made me feel very welcome as I was on a first date. Her service was awesome and I 100% recommend Molly. I would come back just for her service!!!!
I love this spot! The food is incredible, especially considering its primarily beer focused. Their meat dishes are consistently cooked to perfection, and their brunch has a traditional british element but always comes with a unique twist. The service has always been great, personable and attentive staff who make the experience even better. They also have an excellent playlist whenever I visit. Their beer selection is tasty, crowd-pleasing and reliable. Can be quit during the day and they have spaced out tables, makes for a great place to get work done and have private conversation. You really can t go wrong here. This underrated gem in Liberty Village will always be one of my favorites!
Great experience for my bachelorette drinks and dinner. Kind and fun servers who put up with our energy seemingly effortlessly and put us in the right spot. Great food. Great atmosphere. Really easy and smooth individual bills (lots of splits) with a huge group. Highly recommend!!
Ordered Thanksgiving turkey dinner for delivery and was very disappointed. Possibly the most disappointing and sad takeout I have ever ordered
We ordered the Thanksgiving special and it was delicious! Great mix of vegetable and the stuffing was amazing, and the turkey not dry. Would def order again.
Great bar & fantastic food. Even got a nice patio but we needed the air con to cool down so got a booth inside. Food
Very friendly and helpful staff. Id definitely recommend the Maple Sriracha Cauliflower, its so tasty. The Yorkie Pudding nachos are a great dish, such a novel way to include the good old Yorkshire pud, and makes a fab sharer with plenty of filling. Food
My number one fish and chips in town, mushy peas are also amazing here. My wife absolutely loves the buffalo cauliflower bites. We also came here for New Year s Eve roast and trivia night last year, it was awesome! The Sunday roast is absolutely delicious! We ve been eating here for a couple years now, hasn t disappointed us!
Everything was so good here. The beef brisket was amazing. I think it s more on the high caloric side but worth it. Ask for the house made hot sauce it s too good. Atmosphere and service 10/10.
The beer was great and the deep fried calamari was very crispy !!!
Awesome friendly server, great food and drink
Had a great time here chilling out before a show at Budweiser stage. Great barbacoa beef tacos and tasty beer that hit the spot on a hot summer afternoon.
Was not impressed with the food. I ordered the brisket and found that the sauce on it was overpowering it was also very fatty. It came with potato salad that I could not eat as it was extremely salty. One of my dinner companions ordered fish and chips and received a burger. The server was extremely pleasant and did offer to take back the burger however, we all had our dinners so she decided to just keep it. My review is not based on our server at all just the food. I would not go back nor would I recommend this place.
Went for the Sunday roast. Meat was way too fatty, hurt my jaw to chew! The yorkshire pudding was burnt too. Pity because the gravy and roast potatoes were nice. I also thought it was too pricey, $32 before tax.
Overpriced. Terrible portions. Service meh
The brewpub is upstairs on the main floor and the restaurant is downstairs. Consistently excellent food and outstanding service! Sometimes they play really good 90s rock music, other times they play repetitive techno dance music which is not as good, but they always keep the music at a at nice volume. They have TVs playing sports, and immediately after local sports games people from the arena pour in and they get extremely busy. Otherwise there is plenty of comfortable seating. They also have a really nice patio!
Im surprised at the good food reviews... The food was extremely average and overpriced. Calamari was chewy and I had the sandwich of the day which was the smallest amount of meat on a hamburger bun and basically no other toppings. Ive had better food from a cara chain restaurant. The place has good vibes and a cool ambiance and the patio was very nice.
Nice place, taste food and beer, but service from a lady on the upper floor was rude! Moving plate with food without asking, and being with sour face all the time like making a favor. On my question why she moved the plate with food without asking, I received an answer, not to tell her how to do her job. So, rude! I wish I didnt tip her well!
Went before a concert yesterday with a friend. Of course it happened to be the England - Spain soccer final. I was proactive and had made a reservation days in advance knowing it would be busy. I did not expect that we would be seated in an out of the way party room nowhere near the real dining area. Not sure why guests with a reservation were seated there. Poor planning on their part. We were essentially overflow. Our server was nice enough and tried his best to be attentive as we were so far away from everything. Shared a calamari at 20 the measly amount we had on a plate was shocking. Two large breaded jalapeños were on the plate I guess to make it look like more lol. I ordered calamari not breaded jalapeños. My baked macaroni was ok. It was a small entree. A side salad would be a nice addition when you pay 21 for it . When all said and done the 50+ dollars I spent on a shared app, alcohol freezie and an entree in a back forty room was disheartening. Perhaps you should not have taken reservations, as they obviously went out the window yesterday Coupled with overpriced mediocre food made for an overall disappointing experience. No plans to go back.
Food was wonderful, our puppy came as well. They gave him water as well and great service as well.
Try to order uber eats foe weeks and it says you need to add a food item. But chips arent there anymore so I cant order anything.
Came here with friends before a concert. Great food amazing atmosphere TERRIBLE service after we ate we were checked on maybe once and it was not busy. We would have easily spent more money on drinks but they never offered/ asked if we needed any and we felt like we were a bother. Too bad, would come back if not for the bad experience due to their service.
Great spot to grab a bite before the game at BMO. Excellent selection of Beers brewed by Big Rock. Food was very good, beef brisket was outstanding. Large comfortable patio, to enjoy the weather outside.
Delicious food amazing taste love it so much cant wait to try something new
Went there for Lunch. Everything from the service, ambience to the actual food was world class. I would definitely visit again.
The grilled chicken Caesar salad can feed two people. Excellent service.
The Sunday roast is fantastic.
Delicious dinner before a concert at Budweiser stage! Great food. Very busy but fairly speedy service to get our food.
Its a fun brewery / underground speakeasy vibe. The lunch is tasty and shows up fast, and the staff are attentive.
Very flavourful food loved it great service as well
What can I say this place was incredible food was spit on service fantastic would highly recommend this place
I had a very poor experience on Mother s Day. The restaurant was nowhere near capacity. The food took approximately 90 minutes. We asked several times and they would continuously say five min. When they did bring out the French toast, it was cold and stale. The food was absolutely mediocre. Even to find the waitress to get an update was impossible. I m confused as to where they were running to because no one was getting their food; the table next to us nearly left because of the same issue. They claimed they were busy but there were several vacant tables. I ve never had to wait so long for food in my entire life. I refuse to believe this food was made by a chef. An hour and a half for a slice of French toast and an egg sandwich, just for it to taste so poorly, is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the portions were incredibly small. I would not return here.
Food took forever to come out and when it came out it was cold and it came out with only half the order came out. The manager comped our meals but it was an overall terrible experience.
Superb birthday outing for our young son and our family back on April 21st (meant to post this earlier). They overheard us (not sure how!) that it was his 7th birthday and to our surprise they brought out a stellar desert on the house that he loved with a sparkler. Very nice. Amazing service and vibe was cool. Also navigated dietary restrictions with ease :)
Lauren was amazing!
Great vibes and service. Lauren took great care of us!
Great food great patio bathrooms are clean
Great atmosphere for a pre-match beer. Great service. Lots of screens and a very very good selection of beer and food. *UPDATE Went to get a quick bite post-TFC match last Saturday. Had the Liberty BBQ burger. It tasted like they dipped it in salt. I couldnt finish the burger or fries and Ive never not finished a meal let alone burger. I was pretty disappointed especially considering it was $30+. Maybe it was cause it was late but Ill think twice before ordering food here again. Drinks and atmosphere are top notch.
Poor service & mediocre food. Been here 2 times. The first was incredibly slow service and cold food. Second time added to a 15 minute queue, and said Id wait. Never called my number.
Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night, not realizing it was a TFC game night so our original first option had a huge wait. Delightfully surprised that Liberty Commons had space and a menu with some really nice options. I ordered a regular burger with fries. The burger was honestly delicious with some crispy char on the edges - absolutely perfect. The fries were solid. Nothing fancy or out of this world, but not greasy and crispy and well salted. Interestingly, the burger came with a nice big chunk of pickle on a toothpick through the top of the burger. This was no throwaway pickle though. No way! The pickle was OUTSTANDING. So good, that we asked the server where they get their pickles - turns out they make them in house, along with a bunch of other pickles and preserves, but theyre not for sale to the public. For a drink I tried the Lake Fever Lager draught. It was fine. Nothing outstanding, but refreshing and decent enough. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We asked for a quieter table (bc TFC game night) and got a table in a quieter nook just next to the glass overlooking the summer patio area. Really lovely. Overall great experience. 10/10 would come back to try some other items on the menu like the the bangers and mash. Parking: Theres some street parking if you can find it. A decent-sized Green P lot is a block away, though on game nights/event nights theyve apparently started charging event pricing at $25 (ridiculous for a city agency).
The brew is great and the service, other than the initial seating, very attentive. The food, however, despite looking great lacked taste. The gravy for the poutine was bland and the pork belly unsalted. The one item that was great were the honey lime and dill wings. Will get them again anytime.
Great spot in Liberty Village. Food was excellent and service was great. I d highly recommend the honey Sriracha cauliflower and the bbq beef brisket (corn bread that comes with that dish was also outstanding). Had a great dinner there. Will be back for sure.
One of my top places in Toronto. Food is delicious, so is beer. Food
Visited in the winter patio was closed. Lots of indoor seating though. Cool atmosphere they also had some games at the front for kids. We ordered LC BBQ PLATTER for two. We liked the sausage, beans, the fries, and the cornbread. The jerk chicken was alright. Ive had better beef brisket though. The portion was big we didnt finish ours. All in all pleasant experience. Probably will go again and order something new!
The hot butter wings were delicious. Cool building ambience in the basement. Bartender was friendly.
Can we talk about the nachos with yorkshire pudding pieces and brisket ends, because THAT IS THE WORK OF THE GODS
We booked a staff social in the lower level of the Liberty Commons today and when we arrived with 30 of our team for drinks and food we learned there had been a scheduling error and they werent actually expecting us. Johnny and Shannon jumped right into action, setting up the space for us, and we were sat within minutes. We had drink orders taken (and delivered!!!) so quickly, and food followed fast behind. Shannon was an absolute angel, taking allergies and food preferences into acccount as she carefully tended to each of us around the table. James was behind the bar, refilling drinks and keeping everyone happy - we wanted for nothing! Thank you for taking the BEST care us and making a work event run so smoothly. We will be back!!
Nice place to grab food and drink in Liberty. Cozy vibe and good food.
nice place but the brunch was way too oily. overall the food was not that great.
Good food and beer. The kitchen was slow - 1 hour wait time. However, food is tasty and balanced.
Came here for a brunch: long wait and meh food. FOOD: The place is very well known and I was surprised about how poor the food preparation was. I think their chef was having a hangover! I ordered an English breakfast and was quite disappointed. The potatoes and mushrooms were over salted, rhetorical sausages dry, and the bread too crispy. The eggs were surprisingly prepared well. The funny thing is that I got two sausages and my friend got one. She got 3 times more mushrooms than me. It was just funny all around. SERVICE: The service was not attentive at all. We waited for our server for 10+ minutes at times while she was chatting on the other side of the restaurant. We had manager take our orders a few times and support. Definitely need to introduce stricter management. ATMO: Fun and relaxed atmosphere, but definitely too relaxed as the service was non existent.
Nothing but the best brewery, bar and restaurant in Toronto. The only food and beers are not only the greatest, but on my birthday the entire staff signed a card to me!!! Im speechless... You folks are the best!!!
Garbage beer garbage beer garbage beer garbage beer
Their Sunday roast with a beer is where it s at!
Recommend the fried cauliflower and sticky toffee pudding!
Ordered the large steak tartare for takeout. I ate a bit before taking a photo, but as you can see every single piece of bread was burnt, so they were pretty much inedible. The steak tartare itself tasted like... nothing?? Just tasted like salt, I couldnt taste beef at all. It was also grey for some reason... like I know raw meat oxidizes but I got home in literally 5 minutes. Staff was nice though.
Awful. Service from start to finish was not good. Would give it a zero if I could. Hostess was rude and lousy. Come here if you want attitude. Paid for a meal for which I didn t receive and the hostess had zero tolerance on listening our point and was falsely claiming about delivering the fried chicken burger and saw me eating. If I had eaten the burger then I wouldn t have never complained it and there would have been an empty plate in front of me which were not. This simple thing was so difficult for the hostess to understand so we called the Manager who never came and had to leave paying irrespective of not receiving the food. RUINED MY NYE CELEBRATION and couldn t attend my other priorities because of this.
Cute vibe for drinks with friends or a date. Service was fast, quick and the spiked lemonades were made great. The one thing was the calamari was too salty.
Shame the guy today in the to go shop plays up to his friends and shuns anyone else. Was practically pulling teeth asking him for recommendations. Downstairs is great, Mollie is excellent and it s a good spot to watch sports.
Excellent bbq menu
Cool, chill and trendy pub-resto! A little dark and loud for my taste, but the food was delish!
We came here for the trivia night. It s done in a cool way with a QR code and on your phone so there is no unnecessary waste of paper and they offered $100 off the bill for the winning team. A booking is suggested but the place is huge. They have some daily deals and happy hour deals which we were too late for but the $6 house beer was good and good value. I enjoyed the fried chicken burger and would return for the food. It wasn t overly busy but the service was still pretty slow and poor, although always friendly. For the food they took 2 of our order and then didn t come back to take the rest of the orders until the first 2 meals came. We were there for a while so luckily it wasn t a big deal but I don t think that s ever happened in a restaurant before. Anyway, I d recommend the trivia night for sure.
Excellent experience; will return! Friendly and capable staff, food and drink was excellent. We got the cauliflower appy, and BBQ platter which was more than we could eat - will make great leftovers!
Went for lunch and was told to order from brunch menu until 3pm on a Saturday. Fortunately we were able to order burgers with nasty processed cheese and have a beer. The beer were very good. I had foret noir stout and the grasshopper wheat beer and hubby ahead a nova and a super nova IPA. Burgers and fries were great and so were the beers.
Considering placing an online order at the place, think twice, otherwise the waiting period will be endless. Unprofessional front line staff, especially at the basement part of the bizness. Lack of courtesy and urgency is evident in the rapport and gesture. The management of this establishment is yet to recognize that business image isnt all about dine in alone, the earlier you position your brand across board, such that it becomes appealing via referral, the more and longer you will be able to sustain your business for the longest time, my ten cent.
Arrived early for our reservation but was seated and received good service. The food was pretty good. The place is kid friendly to the point of almost being a family restaurant. They had a special menu for St. Pattys Day, which was nice. Would try this place again for the Sunday dinner as advertised.
Went for the roast and was not disappointed. Very authentic. Amazing roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Staff was also very knowledgeable
Well presented food, and a relaxing cozy vibe. Tried their calamari and chicken sandwiches. Liked them both. The jalapeño margarita isn t for the faint of heart, and had about 4 drinks on rotating taps. Would recommend. Sad that it doesn t fit the bill for a local bar though.
Good food, friendly staff
Food was very good, I had sunny side up with bacon, sausage, fries and salad. Also got to try the Yorkie Benny. Both are very delicious and unlike the disgusting liberty village OEB food was actually fresh properly cooked and no raw egg whites XD The service was really and the downstairs patio vibe was great. Highly recommend for brunch
Surprisingly good group menu for a bar place. I would say the drinks was really good. Steak not too shabby and delicious dessert.
Chill pub atmosphere with lots of screens for sports games and a nice patio at the front. I liked their burger and fries. Service couldve been a bit speedier but overall not a big deal. Good vibes!
Got the beef brisket meal. Food was alright but the portion was kind of small. They have no shame when it comes to asking for a tip, the minimum preset tip is 18%.
Be careful of this place! My friend ordered a side of caesar salad with his meal and specifically asked the server whether it comes with bacon. The server assured him that it doesnt come with bacon. And of course, the salad contains bacon! And has always does, according to the manager. Both the Assistant Manager and General Manager Johnny came and tell us how apologetic they are and how they will comp my friends meal and gave the table two glasses of beer for free. Unfortunately, those are all just platitudes because none of those items were comped when the bill came. And when the manager Johnny was made known of that fact, he decided hed rather disappear in the restaurant rather than face our table. No refunds for those supposedly comped food/drinks that was paid. Just bad service on top of bad service. With a coward manager like Johnny, no wonder the server has no idea what goes into their food.
Nice quality of brunch, welcoming staff, will go again
We had the 1 serving of calamari (2/5) & 2 scotch eggs (4.5/5) for starter (not pictured) then 1 serving of Sunday Roast (4/5) for main. For drinks I had the Traditional Beer while my friend had ginger lemonade. It was very filling and the service was great. Will go back for brunch in future.
chill
The Carrot Cake pancake was pretty enjoyable! A bit high on icing, but the condiments were welcome. The pancake itself was on the moist side, but very flavourful. (Pancake score: 6/10)
Good service, terrible food. Wings are like rocks

Tasty pints brewed on site & great pub inspired food. Nice patio when theres space!
Well presented food and happy staff.
Two of us had the Fried Chicken Sandwich (roasted garlic aïoli, pickles, remoulade slaw, & LC secret sauce) with fries and it was really good with a fantastic aftertaste from the aïoli or LC secret sauce. Whatever the great after kick is from should be offered on the fires as an option!
Spent 2 hours on a Tuesday waiting for lunch. An 1 1/2 in we asked our waitress where our food was. 2/3 of it showed up Immediately and the following meal about the length of time it would take to make the sandwich. Of course this kind of ruined our afternoon by taking away a good hour + of wandering Liberty Village. Might want to avoid this place if your time is important to you. They did compensate us 1 appetizer which took a long time to arrive.
What an awesome patio. The food was next level. Rueben was sooo yummy. The sandwich of the day should be on the regular menu. Burger was cooked perfectly.
They brew their own craft beer. Food was above and beyond.
Bad services, dirty table, not friendly cashier always in rush with some tables that they do not serve properly and they ask you about 18% for nothing. I went for a Friday night patio time, totally disappointing.
TERRIBLE experience. Kitchen and servers lost 3 dinner orders at our table and we were told to wait until they got their orders from the kitchen before we could order more drinks. When we asked for our bills, our server then got every single other table in our vicinity their bills and cleared them out before attending to us. Truly an awful experience- we will not be back.
Was excited for a reunion with my high school pals and a tfc game. We were seated first and could not leave remotely close to the game kickoff. Our food order was lost and had to wait an extra 45 minutes... Waited for our bills for 45 minutes... Showed up at 5:30 for a rush order. And hope to make it for half time?
Had terrible service. Half of our group had to wait over an hour for their food after the first half got theirs. Waited an extra 45 minutes to get our bills after we asked for them.
Server was lovely but ordering system was broken. Impossible to get drinks or the right food or our bills. Edit: to then be left a message saying please contact us elsewhere.
We walked over after going to the Pink Floyd exhibit. What a great way to end a day in Toronto. The Sunday roast was delicious and yorkshire pudding was the biggest I have ever seen. We found it to be good value. Looking forward to the next visit! Food
Awesome spot to grab a drink and dinner. If you are adverse to cilantro, I would advise your server before ordering because they tend to use quite a lot in their dishes. Great service, quick and attentive. The Mexican Fiesta beer is nice on a hot, sunny day. Vegetarian options: A few options available. The Power Bowl is very filling.
16oz beers. Disgraceful, in a brewery! Pints are 20oz.
Cool ambience and banging cauliflower mac&cheese. Super lovely staff.
Food, cocktails and service were all excellent even with how busy they were. It was loud, from patrons and music, which was totally fine but my only complaint was the obnoxious sound of giant connect 4, slamming plastic around every few seconds next to our table. Sitting at any other table and this would have been a 5 star review
Good service, great drinks, nice patio. Food was just okay.
Stopped here before going to a concert at the Budweiser. I have to say, this was the best service Ive had at a restaurant in Canada. Every server looked at my table when passing by for any empty dishes and drinks. Good to see everyone working as a team, especially when it was so busy. Nice selection of beers and food was great. Ill definitely stop back when I have the chance, cheers guys.
We stated three times that the only food restriction we had was no pork. The server confidently stated that there was no pork in the Caesar salad. It wasnt until halfway through our meal that we felt something wasnt right. Later to find out that there was pork in the salad when the server confirmed with the kitchen staff that it had pork in it. This was extremely offensive to us as we do not eat pork for religious reasons. Liberty Commons should do better in training their staff about pork free options.
Awesome atmosphere, great beer and food!
Not great if you have an allergy. We mentioned it to server and asked if she could ask kitchen if the burger patty had garlic. Even though we asked her to check w kitchen first which we do whenever we go out and they usually come back and advise what is safe. She insisted and was very pushy on ringing in the entire order before asking the kitchen even though we asked several times if she could ask first. She also asked if it was an aversion or allergy ? Huh We even said can we just get fries now and order the others after as we were not confident but did not want to just leave. Of course she came back and said no it is fine. A while later I was told things in the fryer had garlic powder so would I like a different side. Some of the options he offered would for sure of had garlic . I said no thanks and can you just cancel my order. A short time later out comes our burgers I was like huh ? It was literally a burger on a plate with processed cheese, small amount of shredded lettuce , mayonnaise and caramelized onions with like a sweet sauce. My partner was like we will just take it home as I was nervous of the onions and was over the whole experience at this point. He had a burnt end burger which he said had way too much sauce on it and a terrible tasting beer. To top it off they charged us full pricey for the burger w no sides. It was price for what we had IMO .
Best fish and chips in town and great beers! thank you!
Great place for a pint. I gad the Mexican lager and it was great. If they had bottles of it I would have bought some. Brunch menu was great too and fast. Great place just below street level with its own patio in the back. Great old building with stone wall and massive timber posts and beams. A lot of taps with a rotating beer list. A must try if your in liberty village. Kid-friendliness: Here with my 13 year old and it wasnt out of place at all.
Excellent service excellent staff excellent food excellent beer
Such a great spot in Liberty Village. Tons of seating both inside and outside. I HIGHLY recommend the maple sriracha cauliflower and I really enjoy the chickpea burger. Solid food, atmosphere and service
Hands down some of the best, food, beer, staff you can find. Wonderful space too. Its always consistently good, and staff is always consistently friendly.
Had a great time here. Enjoyed the craft beer flights from Big Rock and the tasty O&B food! Parking: Large Green P parking lot adjacent to here.
Thanksgiving sneaked up on me this year and I didn t have any plans to cook this weekend. In a city that makes simple things complicated (preorder this & that with all sorts of crazy deadlines) this was a pleasant surprise. The wood fired turkey & sides were delicious ! Thank you
Delicious food, great beers and even better service! Came here a while back for a party with me and my friends. We had our server take care of us from start to finish, let us play some music we requested and was friendly and helpful through out the entire service.
I wasnt ready for it. When I ordered from Liberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery, I wasnt quite prepared for the gastronomic journey that lay ahead. Usually with delivery food its cold, bland and mid on flavor. However nothing more opposite could be true with Liberty Commons. With each bite, my taste buds were treated to an exquisite symphony of flavors, leaving me both stunned and impressed. The two meals I experienced here were nothing short of sensational, showcasing a level of authenticity and cleanliness that is truly commendable. Lets start with the Thanksgiving turkey dinner, a true masterpiece in its own right. The hardwood-fired and smoked turkey was a revelation, with its tender, succulent meat that practically melted in my mouth. The smoky aroma infused every bite, enhancing the natural flavors of the bird. And the dressing, oh, the dressing! It was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, perfectly complementing the turkey with its rich, savory notes. It was evident that the chefs culinary expertise and attention to detail were at play. As for the Sunday roast, prepare to have your expectations shattered. The meat, cooked to absolute perfection, had an incredible smokiness that elevated it to a whole new level. Every slice revealed a tender, juicy interior, while the outer layer boasted a tantalizing char that added depth and complexity. THIS IS NOT your Nanas Sunday potroast. But... it was the gravy that truly stole the show ( au jus in their words, but this deserves the title of gravy) its heavenly taste transported me to another planet. The velvety smoothness and robust flavors of the gravy were a testament to the chefs dedication to excellence. I could taste everything roast in the pan in the most complimentary expression possible. Even the vegetables didnt escape the chefs expert touch. They were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char and smokiness. Each bite revealed a harmonious balance between the natural sweetness of the vegetables and the smoky undertones, resulting in a delightful and well-rounded accompaniment to the main dishes. What impressed me the most about Liberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery was the unwavering commitment to exceptional standards and consistency. The chefs (brigade?) mastery shone through in every aspect of the meals, from the meticulous preparation to the impeccable execution. It is a testament to their passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences. In conclusion, my experience fromLiberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery was nothing short of extraordinary. The meals I had were a revelation of flavors, showcasing the chefs talent and dedication to excellence. If youre seeking a culinary adventure that combines authenticity, traditional flavor profiles, and remarkable taste, look no further. Prepare to be amazed and indulged at Liberty Commons this is a dining destination and master of delivery that deserves the highest praise.
Good foods and beer. An above average bar. The beer taps and mixed drinks are great, the bar food is well above average. The service is a bit mean, never encountered great service, and theyre particularly unfriendly larger groups, which is a bit surprising given how close to the recreational stadium they are. Still, a good mood, good food, good beer.
Good brunch!
Good food, nice servers, cheap drinks.
experience was tainted by creepy general manager I came here to celebrate my birthday last night with a large group. They had a long table ready on our arrival. it was lovely, Sugar our server was amazing and all the drinks were delicious. the food was decent, we just got some snacks to share for the table. my one big complaint is the general manager an old white man came over and told me to put on a shirt as i was wearing an open back shirt which covered me completely in the front. i felt this was extremely inappropriate and made me feel very insecure and uncomfortable as he stood there until i put my friend s sweater on. i almost felt like crying honestly which sounds dramatic but it was really awkward as my friends watched and later asked if i wanted to leave. i decided to stay as our drinks just arrived and shake it off, Sugar later came to apologize for his behaviour which was very kind and i really really appreciated and she told me that he had left. after that i had more fun and tried to let go of the feeling. when she brought out the cake with sparklers in it it was so fun and she even brought me more sparklers to hold which was super fun hehe. overall great celebration other than general managers behaviour. this is no way to treat a customer on a special night who came in an outfit that i felt beautiful in and i believe to be appropriate , whatever that means. please treat female patrons with more respect in the future and consider how your actions will affect their self esteem.
30% delivery fee?!? Uber charges $10. Youre food is not that good. Food : 1/5
Awesome service! Beer is nice and lots of options. We took the BBQ platter for two and it s huge. Cauliflower bites are nice too! Will visit again
Delicious burgers and ice cold beer. Nice place to visit in summer.
Went here after flag football at lamport and had a great time!! James and the rest of the staff took great care of us and we loved it!! We ll definitely be back
Great service and very good food. Their fried chicken burger on special was tasty, but I think they fry their chicken in the same oil they use for their fish, as there was definitely a fishy taste to the chicken, or at least the oil.
Great food, excellent service
Really enjoyed the truffle parmesan fries and cauliflower mac and cheese! Great place to go in the area definitely!!
Very cool place, great atmosphere.
Good beer, but below the average food...
Lively atmosphere.. efficient and friendly staff (host, waitress, food and drink runners).. great flavours, good menu selection.. quick service.. all around a hit and I am definitely coming back. Thank you.
The staff are so nice and accommodating. We were in a little rush to get somewhere, and they served us promptly and got our food right away! Their food is absolutely delicious!! It is really high quality food! I recommend the carrot cake pancakes and the yorkshire bennie!
Nice collection of beers and wines!
Great vibe, great food and belpful staff. We worth it.
Brunch was yummy. Staff were friendly.
One of my favourite brunch spots in Liberty Village! They have a great patio out back and a nice area inside for the cold days. I always get the full english breakfast, and love the scotch eggs! Highly recommend for hungover brunch.
Never had a chance to eat...ducked in while my girl did some shopping, but what a great spot! Big Rock is a great brewery out of Calgary and the service was exceptional. Had a couple beer and relaxed. Staff were outstanding...highly recommend.
Great outdoor dog friendly patio! They even gave our pup a water bowl on a hot day. Food is solid, we got the bbq platter for two and it was plenty of food for two people, we shouldn t have gotten our two starter dishes for it was way too much food. It s little on the pricy side but also what you would expect for liberty village.
Nice selection of food by O&N and interesting selection of beers from Big Rock.
Nice place. Had Summerlicious 3 course lunch. Very good. Good menu selection, maybe a bit pricy. Their beer is just average. Very good service
Edited: Came back to have a beer and some food at the big rock patio side on a Sunday afternoon. Asked if food was available on the big rock side and was absolutely floored at how rudely the staff at the bar responded. Me and my wife instantly left, even my wife was pretty shocked which is rare. I generally enjoyed Liberty Commons but have had some weird experiences on the big rock side and probably will steer clear here on out.
I generally don t leave bad reviews but I simply can t let this one slide Food is average, service was awful! Our waitress was rude straight off the bat but when we called her out on incorrect/missing items during our meal she turned passive aggressive with zero apologies. All Four of us at the table were shocked by her remarks and will never be returning. We came here to have an enjoyable meal and left feeling enraged by our servers terrible attitude. Thanks to Madeline we ll certainly be sharing our experience with friends & family around Toronto. Staff re-training is highly recommended before expecting tips for an utterly terrible service. I put one star because zero isn t an option unfortunately.
Big Rock beer and good pub food with good service adds up to a good experience. The music could be less loud to my taste.
Nice clean facility good time to go out with your friends and have a drink
Went for Sunday brunch after a late night out, hit the spot *chefs kiss* pancakes were delightful and I actually tasted the smoked part. I had the Yorkshire pudding and it was the best
What was once a fun local place to grab some casual drinks and food at has become a blacklisted establishment. Our server, Madeline, had a major attitude problem from the moment we were seated. Rude, unprofessional and entitled are three words Id use to describe her and the service we received. I will never be back and urge others to head down the street to Local, Brazen Head or even Wendys for a better experience.
Best Ruben sandwich Ive ever had. The beers were great too!
The jerk chicken was fantastic!
Great choice of rotating nano beers on tap. For a change I liked the sour beer here. Nebula and double ipa beers were my favourite! Scotch egg was wow! Must try! Food was average otherwise.
Our host/manager Zora was very accommodating and gave us a nice booth and made us very comfortable. She recommended food and Jared our server took great care of us. Jared suggested amazing beers to go with our food. Very nice atmosphere for a Friday night, will come back.
Russell was amazing he has great food and beverage knowledge. He recommended us some good drinks. I enjoyed my time in liberty common. I will definitely come back.
Food is amazing! Best pancakes ever!
Place to catch up with mates late night
Great place for their beer and lots of food choices. They even have a nice patio at the back as well as spacious seating inside in the basement. At the top, there is their beer shop that you can buy their beers for takeout. Ive had their fish & chips and the beef brisket which are both delish.
Loved coming here before a concert at Budweiser stage. All other venues in the area couldn t even seat us at the bar, but Liberty Commons gave us some seats at the bar while we waited for a table. Drinks and food were excellent and the service was great by Jessica our server and the manager. We eventually got a table on the nice patio. Would highly recommend for the atmosphere, location and service!!
A lovely and dog friendly place to spend an afternoon. We wanted to get brunch but arrived too early on Sunday and the patio was not ready yet. We ended up getting burgers upstairs. The staff welcomed us with water bowls for our dogs. We tried the classic burger and fried chicken sandwich. Both were amazing. My husband liked his beer as well. Will definitely come back for a relaxing Sunday lunch with our pooches!
Really good food! And nice ambience. Except had a not so great experience with the host who first turned us away when we showed up without a reso saying there was a 30min wait and that there is no waitlist. When my friend came to check in 5 mins later, a different hostess seated us almost immediately. And also, when we sat all the tables were empty! But our server was nice and food and drinks were great.
Good food a little limited for vegitarians.
Friendly service and food was good. Kitchen catered to gluten allergy. A little bit of confusion getting us seated but the place was packed and it seemed like staff were a bit overwhelmed. Overall Id recommend! My fiance loved the Reuben sandwich in particular.
Very poor service when we went earlier this year. The waitress not only brought us the bill WAY before we were ready (there was still food on our plates and my partner was literally mid-chew with food in his mouth), but proceeded to ignore us for the next 20 minutes. We finished our food and waited for 20+ minutes for the check. Our glasses were empty and had not been refilled once the entire time! Our waitress walked around, helping other tables, taking new orders, and bringing cutlery to other tables, with not one word to us. She did look over a few times but said nothing. Finally, since we were running late and would miss the GO train, we got up and went inside to pay. The manager inside apologized for the delay and helped us pay. He suggested perhaps the waitress had brought the check over pre-maturely because we were running late for the train; however, we had never mentioned this! We came inside because otherwise, we would have missed our train. Is it normal to be brought the check (without asking for it while still chewing), and then ignored for 20+ minutes? I completely understand if restaurants have a strict dining limit, if they need to have high turnover of tables during dinner rushes, but it makes no sense to rush the customer to pay, and then seemingly be in no rush to actually let them pay. What is the point in bringing the bill so early if you dont care about clearing the table? Poor service aside, the brisket was dry and the Sunday roast was only okay. Not worth the price IMO, especially with this kind of experience. I would have put 1 star except the manager inside did his best to assist us and we were able to make our train. Thanks very much sir. I wish we had remembered to ask if we could direct our entire tip to him!
I got the full English breakfast and it was very filling. I liked it!
Great place for wings and beer. The smoked meat sandwich is cooked through like BBQ brisket which gives it a unique flavour. The patio is great in the summer. My only negative experience here was ordering fish and chips as the skin was on underneath the batter.
TL;DR: over-charging post-game fans, be aware! I stepped into Big Rock Brewery post-game to grab two tall cans on my way back home and was charged $17.55 total (which included a tip as well). I was confused about the price so went back in to talk to the person who served me and asked how much each costs (the price was clearly mentioned on the wall behind) to which I was informed there are different prices depending on whether youre drinking on the patio or not (first time Im hearing of this, but okay). I followed up asking for an exact price at which point the server turned to the other guy behind the counter and said to him that Im asking for the different prices. The other guy looked like a deer caught in the headlights and didnt have an exact price either, kept saying that he needed to look it up. I kept pressing for an a clear price to which he responded by saying that I need to leave because I was causing a scene. This annoyed me because I wasnt yelling or even being aggressive, just firm with my words. I declined to leave and said that I would wait until he finished serving (rather swindling) the rest of the line. To which he offered my a full refund, that I declined and took the excess of what was charged. Im aware this might not be a one off situation and that other businesses deceit their clientele, but I wanted aware people so they can be on the lookout the next time they step in for a post-event brew.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, wonderful staff! Walking distance to Budweiser stage, ontario place, CNE grounds. Great little area.
Used to love this place but wow it s gone down hill.. myself and my partner have been going here for years as a beloved community/neighbour restaurant and absolutely loved it previously but unfortunately this place has really went down hill service wise. A few months back they have hired an entire new staff from front, back end and management and sadly it hasnt been the same since. Won t be coming back!
Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Good variety with the beer selection and food!
I m from Guelph so I don t come here often but any time I m heading to a concert at Budweiser Stage, I always come here first. It s such a good vibe with great employees and the food/beer is fantastic!
Seriously one of the best places for delicious food in the city! NEVER been disappointed or even less than amazed. Great service, cool place!
Bayleigh and team are great. Beers are on point. Nebulus was killer.
A cool late evening spot to have a decent beer.
My friends and I visited this restaurant on 06/08/21 for a friends birthday. The food and service seemed to be ok. Two of us had to leave right after eating so we quietly pulled our server aside and asked if we could pay the bill without anyone knowing as a nice treat for the birthday boy, the server was happy to assist. It was only the next day that we found out the bill was paid by us and then double charged to the table again after we left. Who knows, maybe he made a mistake. We contacted the restaurant the next day we called multiple times to let them know they overcharged us by more than $130 and were told to send in copies of our proof for a refund. We went back there the same day to get our refund in person and we were told that the supervisor could only take copies of our receipts and send them to finance who would process and issue a refund in a few days. To this day they did not refund any of the money nor did anyone call to let us know what had happened or was happening (they took our phone numbers, emails and names). The money is not the big deal but the fact that we went out of our way to find this place, drive in from out of town, try to make a nice gesture for our friends only to be perceived as cheapskates that walked out on a big bill, come back the next day and be guaranteed a service and then be forgotten about or ignored for over a year is not acceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews but this had to be said.
Followup to the below. Thank you for your reply. I will connect re: below. Rating adjusted for great response time. ------ The food is terrible. Why do you even bother to serve food when it is not even done properly. Example something as easy as a poutine you managed to screw up a food truck can do it better. Layer the gravy, melt the cheese. NOT HARD. Please fix this.
We enjoyed our experience at this restaurant on a beautiful late afternoon. The staff were nice and respectful. Delicious food and high quality ingredients.
Nice taproom, good beer and friendly staff. Patio and taproom are dog friendly.
Place was really nice and the staff friendly and professional. Beer selection was good. Food was good but nothing exceptional; my fish and chips was a little dry ( but the mushy peas were excellent lol). Would try again but for brunch
We had a wonderful dinner here! It was early on Sunday evening. The place full before a concert at Ontario Place. The service was great. The food delicious. All in good time. Will definitely return
The drinks are Amazing! The food is also amazing! And it s a very cool place for anytime you decide to visit. Professional accommodation, they really care about your experience. Is this the best spot in Liberty Village? Could be.
I booked a small get-together with a few old friends and they accommodated us on the patio as requested in my booking even though it had just stopped raining. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to many who ask me Where is the best place to eat in Liberty Village? The Liberty BBQ Burger is one of my favourites and I bring others here to have it. Ill most definitely be back.
It has the classic brewery atmosphere but unfortunately at the time of our visit there were not enough brews on tap available for a flight. The wings had an overwhelming lime flavour as well. We would have ordered more but we had to go and the waiter kind of forgot about us.
We had the best service by Aaron. His recommendations on our flights were spot on. Attentive service makes all the difference and he delivered I cant remember the other servers name but he was great as wrll. The food was delicious. Scotch egg was superb. Going back when they have the t Fiesta brew available. Met the brew master, he was so friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome place.
From date night, to grown up birthday party, to family waiting for a go train, Ive had a wonderful experience and great drinks everytime.
Food and atmosphere were fantastic. Service was sad. servers would take our empty glasses away without saying anything, leave and not come back. had to ask 2 separate times for something to drink after sitting for 15 minutes each time. We finally just asked for our bill. server recommended a place down the road
I dined here 3-4 times never had a bad service and food quality was always decent. This time I took advantage of Give a Sip Drink Special( Daily from 3-6pm including weekends) and ordered signature select beer, Kowhai Pilsner for $7. It was an excellent beer. Also had a daily special sandwich to share which was philly cheese sandwich type of hot sandwich with emmental cheese on a brioche bun ($24) with a additional sweet potato fries($3). It was served with two good size sandwiches and very tasty. I like their spacious back patio than front patio close to Big Rock Brewery bottle shop side. Liberty Village has many options for pubs/ breweries but I would pick this place over other competitors.
Great beers, stiff staff upstairs though... ;)
The service and food here was amazing!! Loved the vibes and the washrooms here are a plus! Everyone in the group of seven I was with enjoyed their food. Unfortunately I did not get the name of our server but he was so great!! Very attentive and funny.
Jared was my server!! He was so helpful! I loved him <3
Beer is excellent, they have several styles on tap and rotate them. I had a flight and quite liked it. Food is average, though. It s well prepared and tastes good, but nothing outstanding. I happened to be there on a Sunday, and they only do brunch menu until 3:00. However, there was nothing posted and I was not told in advance. It was a bit embarrassing when I was told my order could not be fulfilled after I had ordered. Be sure to ask which menu is being fulfilled before you order. The ambiance is nice, quiet and pleasant, very conducive to families and small groups spending time together chatting.
West end gem in Liberty V Try the new Royal blood IPA 7.8% on tap Delicious! Business is booming onhand stock is low
Amazing spot! Our bartender Mike really made our experience here one that we wont forget and will recommend the spot to others because of his great attitude and service!!
It was OK. Some meals were very salty. The food was served Luke warm. Vegetarian options: Quite extensive options
The food here was sublime, we stopped in here before a concert at the Coliseum , and I m glad we did, it s a bit pricey ($116 for 5-6 drinks and the food) but definitely worth it. The best version of these dishes I ve ever had in Canada!
Fav place I ve discovered in liberty! Love the service and food and drinks are amazing!
Says on Google that they are open today. Well thats a lie!!...please update your hours. Thanks.
Really great spot, cant go wrong attached to a craft brewery lots of nice options on tap. Went last Thursday and the food was phenomenal, had the special sandwich of the day which was a lamb burger...with the goat cheese!?!? Yes...so good, and the Sriracha cauliflower bites, real nice and crisp! Our server was Cameron and he was fantastic, great service, great food recommendations, super good experience!
Authentic English fare! The chef is British and inspires the brunch menu to an amazing degree. We got the Full English and the Scotch egg breakfast. The portions are not huge but the flavours are extremely satisfying. You can tell that real care and attention was spent on the sauces and garnishes. Extremely tasty British food with a spacious basement pub setting make this a winner!
Really good cauliflower bites and good selection of drinks. Not super busy for after work drinks.
Great Sunday roast and fish & chips
We had such a great experience here. We popped in after the OOAK show and were so pleasantly surprised - the service was excellent, a great selection of drinks and delicious food. Our server Molly was so great. Highly recommend!
Good food!
Caesar salad with pulled jerk chicken was amazing. I d eat it again tomorrow. Friends loved the sticky toffee pudding and the butter tart with bacon was yummy!
Love the food and staff! The menu is fantastic and the service is always great. The brisket is so good!
Only stopped by for drinks but great selection and atmosphere.
Great for Brunch as well. Excellent staff and service. Get the yorkshire pudding eggs benedict
Excellent food, drinks, and service!! We hosted a private event in their Barrel Room and despite communication errors on our part, the staff and manager went above and beyond to ensure our guests had a great time, great food, and great service. Would highly recommend!
