This place never disappoints. Food, service, environment, everything was amazing.

I visited the restaurant with my Friends for the first time the owner beriha came and great us her smile and aproach was so amazing shes very professional and the food its very delicious. Most of the food i have been tasted all are delecious tibis, vegetable, kitifo, doro wet.... I become loyal customer since i visited her restaurant. Location wise and the survice is fantastic. Twice me and my freinds arround 20 people celebrate new year and easter the place is wide accomodate many people. Ms. Bariha thank u so much for ur warm welcoming and fantastic service me and my Friends r satisfied. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian meal is delecious has different type of vegetable in one plate.

Unreal place in Toronto, very authentic, super friendly staff, fast service, amazing food

Surprised this place wasnt busier! My party got the vegan platter (which isnt listed on the menu) and everything was fabulous you really cant go wrong. The servers were friendly and prompt, and they even offered us a little extra shiro so we could finish our injera. The music isnt too loud, but there are a couple big TVs over the bar, which I found distracting.

This restaurant is the most popular on their Eritrean and ethiopian culture food. The food is unbelievable especially injera is healthy and tasty. I recommend to all ethnic to come try it the best experience.

Dine in experience resembles the perfect ambiance of a luxurious Ethiopian restaurant. The food was flavourful and I loved the presentation. The staff are all very kind and accommodating, you can tell they take pride in taking care of their guests. 10/10 would recommend!

Vegetarian options: It was Mother s Day weekend and they had some different staffing than they usually would. The place was half empty. It took us two hours to have the four of us eat dinner. All our meals came at different times. A few were not what we d ordered. The waiter apologized profusely but seemed vague about what we were telling him. And then sure enough, the solution that came a half hour later was as again wrong.

Came in here randomly after getting out of a late movie and needed to find a place with vegan options. The food was excellent! We got the vegetarian platter for four and everything was flavorful and delicious. This was some of the best injera bread Ive ever had as well. Ill be sure to come back again soon. The prices were also very affordable for the portions and selections.

Great authentic Ethiopian food

One of the best restaurants Ive ever visited! The food was incredibly delicious, the cook and waitress were very friendly, the prices were very low and the whole evening was just lovely. I can only recommend Maidas, I have rarely eaten so well! Vegetarian options: Half the menu consists of vegetarian or vegan dishes.

My time at Maida s Restaurant was amazing! The service was great, Beriha was a great host. The cha cha tibs, spinach and keyih tibs was delicious. I highly recommend this injera spot for family dinners or any date night.

Went out to dine in this restaurant many times and was never disappointed...food, service and great atmosphere for small or big group . We had a high school reunion, party of 40 people and everyone enjoyed the restaurant food and cozy atmosphere. Owners are amazing and service was excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy Eritrean vegan or meat plates in a cozy restaurant. We also enjoy the traditional coffee everytime we go which is a must try!!!

Dined here last night and was skeptical because I ve never had Ethiopian food, and since we didn t know what to order, the waitress just decided for us. I m so glad she did though, because this was such amazing food - some of the most flavourful, well-spiced, unique items reached our table and I couldn t have been more glad to have explored a new cuisine like this! We had the injera with zil zil, tibsi, and chacha- which we had to order 2 plates of because it was so good. The waitress was very kind and attentive, and the chef even came out to talk to us. Good people here, and even better food. Definitely come by if you re near Bloor or just in the mood to try some African / Ethiopian eats.

We wanted to try a local Ethiopian restaurant and saw the great reviews. It was a Friday night and pretty quiet but when the food came out you can see right away that it was going to be great. Felt like it was truly a home made dish and we went with the waitresses suggestion to make all our meals as a family style dinner. Every item was great, lentils, chicken, beef, lamb... Loved it all. We even had a 2 year old with us and loved it too. When we were wrapping up the left overs the chef even provided us with additional veggie dishes. Pretty sure whenever I have a guest come over this will be top of the list. Great food and amazing service!

A place where you will enjoy the most delicious and decent Eritrean food at affordable prices. Excellent environment, friendly service, and a great menu with a variety of choices!

Lovely ambience with friendly service and wonderful flavourful food . The chef/ owner made recommendations for our group which was very helpful . The coffee service was amazing and worth the wait .

I promised the owner I d write a review if the food was delicious, so here it is. This is the best Ethiopian-Eritrean food I ve had in Toronto. The vegetarian combo platter included 4 amazing, spicy lentil and split pea dishes, cabbage with okra and carrots, and a perfect salad nestled into fluffy injera. Everything was absolutely delicious. This place will not disappoint. Also a great vibe. I ll be back.

We came for a birthday dinner and were blown away! We shared a meat platter and a veggie platter among 5 people. The food was amazing and came quite quickly. The cha-cha was a favorite for me. The staff were all so lovely and often anticipated our needs before we even asked. They even played Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder over the speakers and celebrated with us! I will 100% be coming back to Maida over and over again. Thank you so much for a lovely evening!

Popped into this place in a whim and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious and flavourful the food is! A no frills hole in the wall great Ethiopian food. My first time trying out Ethiopian food and was very impressed with the simplicity and humbleness of the food yet it was too yummy! Service was great too!

The staff was quick to accommodate and was very helpful in suggesting options that my friend and me would enjoy that wasnt too much food or too little. The food was tremendous and prepared/presented in a well organized platter. Can never go wrong with Ethiopian food but this place was top notch! Would go again!

I was very overwhelmed with the atmosphere and the hospitality in my few visits to Maida restaurant and bar. The food is fascinating and awesome, the owner and the waitresses are nice and provide the best services. Looking forward to many more visits ahead!!!!

The food was a 10! The service at first was great even though the server was unfamiliar with the menu because we asked for the family platter (a combo of veg and meat - chicken and goat). She looked confused. With menu in hand, thinking she misunderstood me I pointed to the family platter. Looking over the menu she then asked what meat we would like. We replied, whatever is on the menu that comes with the family matter. She then somewhat explained some people dont want both types of meat. Nope, were good with what it come with. When we received the bill we were billed for the platter and then a meat dish (so 2x the platter). We received only one family platter. Then it was a bit of an ordeal trying to get it off the menu. When we left we were wondering is this some sort of scam or was she new (she looked like she was running the place) because who doesnt know what the family platter is that works there? Its one of only a few combos. Something like that brings down the whole experience. I will go back because the food was delicious and give it another go.

Travelled from New Zealand to Toronto I was a bit worried that I might not find a good restaurant where they serve Injera. I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Maida. The service was AMAZING. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Perfect for vegetarians

My friend and I came to this restaurant by chance and we were so happy that we did! The food was amazing; it was full of flavour and you can tell it was made fresh. Not to mention the owner and his staff provide exceptional service. I ve been living in the city for a year and been trying to find a restaurant that can make injera like my mom does back home & for the first time I found it. Needless to say, I can t wait to go back!

It s a wonderful restaurant with an equally wonderful chef. They really care about the customers. It was my first time here but I am definitely coming back here. The food was amazing, almost pleasantly surprised!

We came here in a Sunday evening for dinner. The staff were so kind and helpful. The food was deliciou, flavors were balanced their authentic. We highly recommend the vegetarian platter. The lentils were perfect. They brought us complimentary Ethiopian coffee and popcorn to end our meal. Couldn t have asked for a better experience at this price point. Will be back.
