Wow! Didn’t expect it to be as impressive inside as it was. The place is so cute! Very eclectic and cozy. The bar was gorgeous. Such a good brunch spot. Everyone enjoyed their food and I had the best avocado toast I’ve ever had here. They had special juices so we tried the passion fruit and the mango juice mimosa and both were delicious. The manager was LOVELY. Great service, friendly people, amazing decor and great food. I cannot wait to come back. 5/5 for sure.

Exceptional French Cuisine and Ambiance I’ve dined here several times, and it never disappoints. The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive, making every visit a delightful experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to indulge in French cuisine!

Was my second time here, around my neighbouring area. I love everything over here. So far, I think this is my favourite French restaurant in Downtown Toronto. With attentive and friendly service staffs, beautifully decorated with architectural details mansion granted heritage status is hardly to find one in Downtown Toronto. For 3 of us having starters, main sets, cocktail and in-house beer costs less than $300 in total is really cheap in such a fancy French restaurant. Next-time, I will comeby for their weekend brunch.

Onion soup is salty and kinda oily, but the restaurant replaced it with creamy squash soup for us. Squash soup is great, sweet and savory, with a sense of garlic. French snail is too oily and texture is not very tender, we don’t recommend it… Duck breast is on average, and we all think it is over priced… Overall service is nice, everyone’s friendly, and vibe is good.

The foie gras for appetiser was executed wonderfully. The acidity and the textures were so beautifully paired. It could be crispier on the exterior and it would be perfect. It was a thick piece comparatively, which is very impressive. The octopus was good, but nothing too wow. The duck breast lacked flavour in my opinion while the mushrooms overpowered with flavour. It was however cooked just right, which was great. The potato pave lacked flavour in my opinion, and would be better if fried properly. The tournedos rossini was cooked very nicely. The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. The foie gras again was great. It was slightly too much food, but the overall experience was great. I would come again for dinner just for the foie gras.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was hard to get a night out to celebrate with a newborn, so we had high expectations. In our reservation, we also stated the occasion, but there was no acknowledgment from the waiter or the restaurant, which is a bit disappointing. We had the beef tartare, which is good, the egg yoke and the mustard goes really well together. My wife doesn’t drink so she had the cucumber gimlet and she loved it, very refreshing. They carry a good selection of French wines at a reasonable price. We had the salmon and it is delicious, love the crispy skin. I had the duck breast, it is quite chewy and I feel it is overcooked. And quite small in portion given its price. The waiter never came by to check on us afterwards. The dessert menu was limited and not much to be desired. Also the waiters and servers should be more careful when they place very hot French onion soup, plates of food or knives around a baby, they are way too close on many occasions throughout the night. The experience was alright, but I do not think we will come back for any other special occasions.

We had my husband birthday celebration at Maison Selby L’Organerie room. Their event manager is amazing and very throughout during the whole planning process. We had a decoration service come in to dress up the room, the restaurant is very accommodating. On the night of the dinner, our server was very friendly and attentive. The food are exceptional, from canapé to main course, all taste excellent. Highly recommended this place.

I was somewhat disappointed with the Summerlicious dinner I ordered, along with a bottle of wine, totaling about $200. The appetizers were quite basic, and the main dish was overly salty (though the chef did try to adjust it). The desserts were okay. Despite this, our server was amazing and went out of her way to make our night special. The atmosphere was pleasant, though it didn't quite meet my expectations.

Went there as a group of 9 for my fiancees birthday on a Sunday brunch. Overall the ambiance is really nice and cozy. Waitresses were a little off mood and it shows. One of my friends ordered the Eggs Hemingway and got food poisoning a few hours after. Finally they charge $5 per person if you bring your own food. I brought the cake I bought for $55 and paid an extra $45 just because they cut it into 9 pieces just fyi.

Live in the neighbourhood and always enjoy stepping downstairs for a bite. The bartender Matt is amazing, it is nice to see bartenders that appreciate the quality and art of precise bartending. Ive been in the industry for years and it truly brings me joy to see people hold the same care for traditional bartending-cocktails and technique perfect to spec. Would 100% recommend sitting in the lounge and getting a classic cocktail.

I planned a business dinner at Maison Selby in one of their private rooms and had a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Their self-booking system is a game changer, Ive never seen this before and I book a lot of dinners. The room I booked was perfect for our group- the decor/atmosphere was awesome and there was plenty of space to mingle before our seated dinner. The food was excellent and they offer a great variety of selections to accommodate dietary restrictions without having to do a separate menu for those guests. The staff was on top of everything and so attentive to all of our guests. Special thanks to Stephanie for thinking of all the details ahead of our event. I highly recommend Maison Selby and will definitely book again in the future!

The first time I came to Maison Selby, I absolutely loved it. The food and service were both great. They brought out a birthday dessert for me and it was an enjoyable time. I took my friend here for their birthday and it was absolutely awful. The restaurant was too bright and didn t have any music playing for a Friday night - very awkward as we could hear everyone s conversations. The menu or chef must have changed. steak frites was tough, way too much seasoning and they didn t provide a steak knife. They brought out our main dishes 5 minutes after ordering. Our waiter was so awkward. He didn t clear our plates after 45 minutes of being done eating. I waived him down as I wanted to make sure my friends birthday dessert was coming (I requested this in my reservation). He brought the bill over. I said I don t want the bill I want the dessert for my friend. He ruined the birthday surprise. The service was terrible, food went downhill and it was an awkward ambience. It s too bad because the first time I came here I loved it. Restaurant is beautiful and food used to be good.

We celebrated our daughter s wedding at Maison Selby. If we could rank them 10 out of 5, we would! The manager Stephanie and all her staff were instrumental in every guest feeling special and taken care of. The appetizers and entrees were incredible, special mention for the beef bourguignon and crème brûlée! The bartenders put on a good show while mixing signature beverages. We had the whole place to ourselves including the speakeasy. Security was provided and he was also a lot of fun while ensuring everyone felt safe. The building and decor is also beautiful.

I have never reviewed resteraunts but this place was so good with their service. The attention to detail with what we wanted, the speed food was delivered, the overall ambience was great. They even remembered that I had selected Birthday as the special occasion when reserving on Open Table and brought our pain du chocolat with a candle on it! They also have a tiny key at the end of the meal to keep, the atmosphere was amazing!

I recommend everyone to stay away from here if you are thinking to do a major event here. The event was for my wedding afterparty. The AC was BROKEN, everyone on-site sweated like in sauna. Please, I paid for the whole room just to enter a sauna. The resturant has a event host company (Oliver & Bonaci) that deals with contracts and stuff. There were number of occasions where what the resturant says differs from what O&B was saying, Which caused a lot of confusions. We wanted to bring a cake in externallly and use it on-site, originally, someone from the resturant told me it would be free as long as it is not store in their fridge. This miscommunication got us to take the cake to the church, store it in churchs fridge (thanks to their friendly staff and available frige the cake didnt melt) and when we took it to resturant, i was told i have to pay the cake service fee (26ppl x $5), horrendous. On the other hand, 3 of our guests became sick and gave us a short notice that wont show up. Olivers staff and resturant staff both did not remind me I would be paying for 26 meals anyway. So I thought we could just make up for the 3 meals by extra drinks. As a result, we went over the $2800 minimum quite a bit by just a few drinks, thinking we were okay. But then you are welcomed with a bill that you are paying for those unarrived guests As well. When you try to negotiate, they just straight up say it is not negotiatable. I advise you to stay away from playing their games.

We hesitated to leave a review, but after a month of unreturned messages to the event planner, we felt it necessary to share our experience. We booked a dinner at Maison Selby for our elopement in August, a small gathering of 12 people, working with Alex from Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality. We confirmed our event timeline, custom menu, guest count, and minimal decor (that was never provided) in the contract and made a deposit prior the event. On the day of the event, we called to confirm our reservation, only to find out that the bar downstairs would be closed - something we were never informed about even though it was on our timeline in the contract. This last-minute change forced us to scramble for an alternative afterparty location, adding unnecessary stress to our wedding day. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. However, when our guests arrived, we were served the standard menu instead of our agreed-upon custom drink menu. The waiter mentioned the manager had instructed him to serve the regular menu, which was shocking since our custom menu was part of the contract and was discussed with the organizers. This oversight led to a final bill higher than anticipated. The manager was not on site to address these issues. While we enjoyed the appetizers and drinks, the duck and steak we ordered were disappointingly tough and we had to put it aside. Overall, it felt like many details fell apart on our wedding day. We expected better organization from a restaurant of this caliber, especially given the extensive planning involved. The lack of communication from the organizers, particularly after raising these issues via email, has left us disheartened.

The Asparagus Risotto was fine, as was the French Onion Soup. However, I was quite taken aback when we were charged $8/bottle for still water, after only being asked: Still or Sparkling? Looking around the room, another table was similarly given bottled water while another was served Toronto s Finest from a steel pitcher. Can t quite understand why, though I have my thoughts. My dad stopped the server from refilling his glass after they arrived with a new unopened bottle in the other hand. I m very surprised to have had this kind of poor customer experience at an O&B restaurant.

This is our second time at Maison Selby. First, the building is historic, built by the Gooderam family (distillery district). Each small dining room is beautiful. The staff is EXCELLENT. The mussels are amazing! Delicious, huge portion, lots of toasted baguette with a special butter to be dipped in the mussel sauce. And as if that wasn t enough, you get a big portion of French fries that are thin and crispy. The steak frites is equally delicious with butter green beans as well as the French fries. The $10 wine from 3-6pm was a Canadian wine that was perfect for me. The chocolate cake was a bonus. We had a great evening!

Hi there I was disappointed with my recent dining experience at Maison Selby last Friday night. Despite a reservation for 8pm, my party was not seated until 8:20. Two main dishes, the beef bourguignon and steak & frites were served cold and they took it back but still did not come back much warm. This caused our friend to eat her meal alone as she didn t want her meal to get cold. Despite these issues, no discount was received, only a vague apology. As someone with experience in the food industry, I expected better. Good customer service is crucial for repeat business, and unfortunately, my experience at Maison Selby did not leave me eager to return. I hope these concerns can lead to improvements for future patrons

First time experience for two at this O&B establishment. Sorry no pics this time around. Two orders of coffee, one mimosa and two Full Selby with eggs over easy. The coffee and mimosa are quite good. Sadly both plates came with hockey pucks for eggs and from what Ive read in other reviews, it seems to be a recurring issue. Although not particularly busy, service was pleasant but sporadic on the coffee refill with I believe a busboy filling in for our waiter and yet another waiter clearing our plates. The 20+ dollar Full Selby does not come with any kind of potato and we found other guests would order a side of french fries to make up the meal. The decor is brilliant and the music volume is quite nice enabling you to carry a normal conversation. Table service & food need tweaking. NOTE: Fire your French guy. Its not omelette du Maison. Its omelette de Maison. Or simply put, Omelette Maison aka House Omelette.

UPDATE: After getting a mediocre response to my review from the Maison Selby staff, I reached out to the O&B corporate office. I was connected to Natalie who took my concerns very seriously. Natalie gave me a call and apologized for our experience and communicated her disappointment. She went over and above to redeem O&B and I am very thankful to her for taking my concern seriously. ** Maison Selby was truly one of the worst restaurants Ive ever been to in Toronto. A massive disappointment in service and staff. Lets start with the good. To be fair, our waiter was pleasant and attended to us as best he could, he was the only waiter for a table of 12 plus another 4 people seated in the same area. It was apparent he was on his own, despite the restaurant not being busy as it was the end of brunch, so I felt for him. Food was generally good, but expensive for what is offered and mine was served cold. Now the bad and there is a lot of bad. I went to Maison Selby with a group of 12 people for my wifes birthday brunch. My wife called the restaurant in April to book a brunch for June and ensured that a table of 12 was possible. They said this was their max for reservations, my wife accepted and confirmed the reservation. I made a separate reservation for myself and 4 other people joining the brunch as I required a physical accommodation for my back and I requested we be seated at the bar. I had no problem being separated from my wife, we do this often as this issue is chronic. Part of the party arrived at the restaurant early (including myself and my wife) and we walked through the door and told what I believe was the floor manager that we had a reservation under Sandra. She asked who Sandra was, went over to her and began to chastise her for being sneaky and trying to book two reservations for over 12 people. She went on to say that we will not be doing 18 separate bills and we expect there will be no mingling or hanging around of our large party. My friend in the party tried to smooth it over by saying dont worry we are well behaved and she snickered and said well see about that. After a full 2 minutes of hostility, my wife got a word in and said we booked two separate reservations on purpose and did not expect to sit together. She did not acknowledge it. When I approached the manager again about where my party of 4 will be sitting, she went on to say oh yeah your reservation said you had a back problem or something, so you wanted to be seated by the bar with disregard. At this point I still had no idea where my reservation was as she treated us with such distain, so I went to wait with the party of 12. In assuming the manager had a change of heart after she saw us complaining out loud, she ran over to me and insisted that she let me have a standing table of my own with the party so we wouldnt have to separate and my 3 other guests could sit at the table next to big reservation. Where this came from baffled me as only 15 minutes ago she railed us for trying to pull a fast one. That they provided me an accommodation, I must say I appreciated. Once we got brunch, it was clear the waiter was struggling to handle the size of the party. He did separate bills for us (after we ensured whether or not he was fine with it despite his own manager being rude about it) and it took him over an hour to cash everyone out. At that point, the same manager came in to assist him and went on to tell me this is exactly what she didnt want to happen while not helping him at all. I dont know what the dynamic is at this restaurant with the staff, but I know what my experience was there, and it was unwelcoming, overpriced and truly unbearable. I wish we walked out when we arrived, but with only a portion of our party arriving at first, we figured we would try and stay and make the best of it for my wife and her birthday. Perhaps the restaurant should reconsider who they have greeting customers at the front of house because the manager in particular was truly horrible at it. Ill never return to this restaurant.

Food - This restaurant offers delicious French fare with both brunch and dinner menus, providing a variety of dishes to choose from. My friends and I visited during Summerlicious, and I had the salad, ratatouille, and tarte au sucre. Although the presentation was slightly different from what I expected, the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Service - Our waitress was exceptionally nice, professional, and efficient. We secured a reservation easily and never had to ask for refills on our water or for extra napkins. The service was outstanding, and the staff was excellent. Ambiance - The ambiance is a delightful mix of upscale and casual, making it feel like dining in a charming, historic home. I rarely give bad reviews, but the experience today could be better. The atmosphere is great, and the coffee is nice, but the service was disappointing. We ordered an onion soup to share, and AFTER we had the soup, two other tables near us placed their orders. Both of them received their food before us. When I asked the manager what was happening, she said she would check the order. When she came back with our food, she explained that because they served the onion soup first, our food was delayed. I don t buy it. Ive never seen the main course arrive half an hour after the appetizer. The food also did not satisfy me. My Benedict was cold and inedible, and my husbands over-medium eggs were served over hard. It was apparent that the food had been sitting out for a long time, as the plates were not as warm as acceptable. This isn t just about food quality, but food safety. We called the manager back, and she responded with a professional smile and explained patiently. I did not eat anything and asked her to take my food away because I was too angry to eat. The manager finally fixed the problem by not charging the bill, thanks to her kind help, but I have to write this comment to help them improve. What a beautiful Saturday, ruined by this experience.

I went there to celebrate my birthday. My partner and I ordered duck liver parfait, pain au lait, wine, and Beef Bourguinion. We also ordered soft drinks but the server forgot to bring mine. I overlooked this, it was no big deal. Every single think we ordered was very delicious, we both enjoyed the food. The servers were very nice as well. The atmosphere was nice, the music - not loud at all. However - The potato puree portion was extremely small, I finished it in 3-4 small bites. Even in Paris I got more when I ordered this dish. Overall, although the beef bourguignon tasted really good, it didnt resemble the classic French one I used to eat in Paris. Prices - Extremely high. More than $20 for a glass of wine, more than $40 for some beef with just a little potato puree. I could see no justification for these prices. I was also a little disappointed because one of the reasons I went there was to try their popular dessert Mille Crepe, but it wasnt available at that time. I was offered a Chocolate cake instead, but with all due respect, I didnt go to a French bistro to eat a Chocolate cake. If I wanted a chocolate cake, Id have gone to a nearby bakery or grocery store, and probably buy one in half the price. So it was a little bitter ending to my overall experience. Bottom line - Was the food good? Very Service - Good. Would I go again? No, its too expensive.

It s been awhile since I ve been to Maison Selby and even after many years it s still amazing! A group of friends and I went to celebrate a bride-to-be for brunch and they made it an unforgettable moment dressing the table with flowers and a mimosa tower. Great food, atmosphere and service. I will definitely be back again for dinner.

Food here was good. However, we had a reservation and yet it was over 45 mins wait, with no acknowledgement from the staff about the wait time. There were about 5 spills in our time there where dishes broke which definitely took away from the experience.

Beautiful decor in an old mansion, decent food and adequate wine list, with a long list of Buts. The tables sitting 4 people are minuscule, making the whole setting feel slightly cramped. For an O&B establishment, the service was highly disorganized with a succession of waiters coming and going, without taking the time to help us settle in. We still dont know who was the server assigned to our table. I observed a table of 2 in front of me with a couple trying to decide on a white wine, first one server with 2 bottles on hand, discussing, then going back. A second server came around followed by a lady seemingly acting as sommelier, all unsuccessful. Finally, pony-tailed Brian (the only waiter ultimately giving us good vibes and good service) came to the rescue, spending 20 min helping them settle on a wine. That episode alone took a full hour. I noticed all other waiters, before going to take orders, frantically tapping their tablet that often (always?) appeared unresponsive: WHY insisting in having waiters hold their tablet when taking orders is beyond me, weve done w/o them for centuries. The food was good, I especially liked the small quail egg in its shell to mix in my steak tartare. Ultimately, going back is a big

I would like to echo the below reviews from the 2 parties who went for brunch on Sunday. But would like to add a few recommendations and comments. First being that reviewing your reservations ahead of time may be beneficial - as we made ours months in advance. This would be a good opportunity to contact the party and let them know if you had any issues instead of when they arrive - additionally this would allow you to adequately staff to prepare for a group of that size. You are setting your staff up for failure asking one person to wait on 18 people solo. Additionally, when your staff is struggling this is a great opportunity for you to jump in and assist or come up with a game plan not in front of customers. Having disagreements in front of customers or allowing them to struggle getting bills for people for over an hour while everyone is just sitting around is not it. This is awkward and is not a good reflection of you as a manager. If your restaurant has a policy that one person is required to pay for every person in their party this should be clearly communicated prior. As this is not typical practice and most people are not going to pay for 18 people- typically each person expects to pay for themselves but we were made aware that we were going to be given a special exception to have separate. Also so training on customer service would be valuable. Being spoken down to is not a welcoming way to greet a customer, having sensitivity and professionalism when arranging an Accomadations would also be appreciated. Arguing with customers about mistakes that happened is also not great. 18 people walked away unhappy, and feeling awkward. Please give my compliments to the kitchen for good avocado toast though. Pricey but that was good and came out quickly.

I attended a birthday brunch for a friend at Maison Selby this past Sunday as part of a group of 18 guests. Unfortunately, I arrived late and did not witness the initial interactions, but I was informed that the celebration was marred from the beginning by very rude & unprofessional management. This unwelcoming behavior set a negative tone for the entire event, casting a shadow over what was meant to be a joyous occasion. The poor service and lack of hospitality significantly detracted from the overall experience. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience.

June 22, 2024

Came to Maison Selby for my best friend s birthday. I was running behind so I did not experience what happened to the party when they arrived but let s just say it wasn t pretty. The party was met with hostility right off the bat, with management accusations and just a general bad vibe. I did not order food (only drinks) but from what other party members said, it was alright but the prices did not justify the portion sizes. When it came to paying the bills, well that s a whole other story. Our poor waiter had 18 people to attend to so unfortunately there was a lot of bill mistakes amongst the party. It would ve been fine if they did not make argument with some of the guests and their bills. It should not talk over an hour to pay bills but it did. Overall, the service was extremely poor and management needs to learn how to approach their clientele much better.

Not a good birthday experience! I feel very up-sad and disappointed! I made an appointment with this restaurant nearly a month in advance, hoping to have a good experience. I like the Rose Room of the restaurant very much, so I specifically mentioned during the phone call that I hoped to be able to help me reserve a seat in the Rose Room because that day was my birthday, and I wanted to take beautiful photos. The person who answered the phone on the day happily agreed to my request. Thus, I prepared a pink birthday dress, pink cake, and pink flowers to match the pink background of the Rose Room. The day before my birthday, I made another special call because I afraid that they will forget my request after a month. I mentioned again in the phone call that I wanted to celebrate my birthday in the Rose Hall. They said it was no problem again and told me that they had made a note for me when I made the reservation. However, when I arrived at the birthday restaurant, I was told that there was no seat in the Rose Room and I had to go to another room. I really feel very depressed, if you can not reserve, please do not tell me that you will leave a table in that room for me. I have made so many phones, and no one tells me they cannot guarantee to leave a table. After the incident, I negotiated many times whether I could be transferred to the Rose Room if there was an empty seat. Some staff agreed, but their manager kept disagreeing and said that my request was very rude. In the end, only one employee wished me a happy birthday, and the managers attitude was always very bad. This made my birthday, which I had been looking forward to, very unpleasant. This was my last birthday after graduating from the university, and the experience was really sad! My friends and I felt extremely disrespected and even felt that it was discrimination against Asians. This was the restaurant I wanted to go to the most, and I was really disappointed. I received a lot of blessings on my birthday at other restaurants, but I was poured a bucket of cold water at Maison Selby.

The restaurant has lovely atmosphere and attentive server. However, the food fell short of the expectations. We had halibut and duck breast. The halibut smells fishy. We can t figure out if the smell is from the fish, onion garnish, or vegetable on the plate. As for the duck breast, the portion was very small for a $50 plate. The duck breast meat was over cooked that it was hard to cut through and chewy.

Pleasant dining experience overall with tasteful decor and ambiance. We enjoyed the steak frites, which was cooked perfectly to our liking, pancetta wrapped halibut and pain au lait to start. Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! I typically take lunch very casually, but these plates are extravagant and indulgent worthy, especially for the eyes. Starting with a french onion soup that hits you with a burst of fragrant, oily sweetness thats conveniently soaked up by the baguette pieces inside. The gruyere cheese on top has slight char, giving it a rich depth of flavour and a smooth, chewy texture to give each bite more substance. The salmon was the king, literally. A fillet of perfectly pan-seared king salmon, sporting a delectable contrast of a crackly crisp skin, and flaky moist meat. The seasoning is on point as well, pairing a bite of both meat and skin for a harmonious bite thats complimented with an herbacious zucchini sauce. Underneath are israeli couscous, which has a satisfying subtly chewy texture and a great vehicle to cling onto the sauce. The chicken has a wonderful char to develop a deep, umami flavour thats magnified by the jus that delivers a deep, chicken savory taste along with a slight sweetness from the red wine added in. The bits of bacon and mushrooms provide a burst of umami as well along with a variance in texture, and the mashed potatoes have a delicious amount of butter inside.

I came to Maison Selby for my anniversary with my girlfriend. I requested a nice table and mentioned the occasion. Pros: The staff did an excellent job accommodating my request and checked to see if I was happy about the table, left a small card wishing us a happy anniversary and were very professional. While service was not the fastest, all members of staff were friendly and our waiter was a good conversationalist. The food was very good, I think it is quite worth the price. The coq au vin was very tender and the reduction was flavourful without being overly salty. The accompanying sides (buttered beans and fries) were delicious and well seasoned. The mussels were also done very nicely but it would have been nice to have a dish for the shells to be discarded of. Scallops were cooked well but would prefer two scallops. We received 1.5 in a shell with a puff pastry topping. The best dish was the squash which was stuffed with a delicious grain filling and was fruity and nutty. Cons: Cocktails are overpriced and not as tasty. We tried a lavender gin cocktail (very floral but a little flat and not very complex), and a peach vodka cocktail (delicious white peach aftertaste but a strong alcohol flavour. Would prefer more sweetness in a fruity drink). This was not the fault of the restaurant but other diners were not very respectful of the other guests. A group of very loud international students came in and constantly took photos with flash and used a very bright UV light on their painted nails. Was not happy about the obnoxious behaviour and while a staff member asked them to stop using flash, the loudness and excessive photo-taking continued. They kept moving around the table to take photos of each other and I was not happy to be included in them as well as the lights keep shining in my eyes. Since this is not really the fault of the restaurant, it did not affect my rating too much but I think they should have been asked to be a bit more respectful of other diners. Overall, an excellent dining experience and I will visit again to try brunch or the speakeasy on the lower floor.

I have been to this place multiple times and the staff are getting more mean and sassier every time I go there. This time around we got our drinks way after our appetizer and we ended up with a wine of 2021 instead of 2019 and paying for the same price which is insane and the person serving us barely paid any attention to our table and he was giving us attitude for no reason. We could have complained but we just wanted to have a good night reuniting with our friends but this guy really ruined our night. I wouldn t to go back which is shame because their food is good but honestly service at this location is zero. From the second you open the door, the decor calls you in. Its a multi-level old style house in the Bloor/ Sherbourne area. The menu is very well-balanced and thought out. The staff are amazing - every single one of them. Cocktails are simply beautiful. We got a spicy margarita and (forgot the name) some sort of a gin cocktail - supremely put together. The oyesters, truffled mushroom soup (OMG!) and Caesar salad made up our decadent appies. We moved on to the lemon risotto + scallops, steak frites, and French onion beef chuck burger. Then of course all four of us indulged in a very delicious creme brulee to end the meal. The flavours we experienced had a ton of depth, especially the truffled soup and risotto. The frites were to die for and I was able to get a tiny bite of the steak from the fam lol I wish I have room to order one for myself too, but I cant resist scallops. Oliver & Bonacinis masterful reimagining of the historic C.H. Gooderham House, nestled on the southwest corner of Sherbourne and Selby Street just south of the Sherbourne Subway Station, into an exquisite all-hours French Bistro & Café is a triumph in both aesthetic and culinary realms. The seamless blend of three distinct themed rooms, complemented by a subterranean speakeasy and cocktail bar, adds to the overall charm of the establishment. During our delightful visit, we opted for the lunch menu in the serene library room, a picturesque setting for our culinary experience. My choice, the Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche with escarole salad, was a Parisian delight perfectly accompanied by the refreshing Indie Alehouse Instigator IPA. Meanwhile, my colleague savored the B.C. King Salmon on a bed of beets, swiss chard, and onion soubise, flawlessly paired with a cold glass of Mosole Pinot Grigio from Veneto. The gastronomic journey continued with impeccable desserts the Bruléed Lemon Tart and the Gâteau Milles Crêpes. Our culinary expedition concluded with an espresso and a macchiato, expertly served by the efficient and friendly staff. Kudos to the chef and the entire team for their culinary prowess, and heartfelt appreciation to our attentive server. Without a doubt, Oliver & Bonacinis French Bistro & Café has secured its place as my preferred Toronto brasserie.

This is my second time visiting, definitely coming back again. Food was amazing. We had a set course menu. It was wonderfully done.

Cane here to celebrate the life of a dear person in my life and it did not disappoint. I asked my server to surprise me with the red wine, he helped with the appetizer and the entree, and the atmosphere was just right. And they have REAL CANDLES! Food

I really wanted to love the food at Maison Selby. It has such a great atmosphere and beautiful decor, but the food was sadly lacking. Maybe it was an off night, because I see so many amazing reviews from others. I ordered a med rare flat iron steak frites (with mashed potatoes instead of the frites) and was pretty disappointed. The steak was a little tough and tasted like char from a grill. Aside from char flavour, the meal was pretty bland. I also tried the mussels which weren t anything to write home about. The crème brûlée was the best part of the night.

Beautiful restaurant and good service, but the food left much to be desired. We went in with high hopes and left disappointed. The mussels and beef bourguignon were quite flavourless and the flat iron steak was way over salted. The crème brûlée was delicious, but sadly the best part of our meal.

Love the environment of this place. The Brunch menu was too breakfast focused. I would have liked a few more lunch type options. Service was slow and inattentive.
