As this was my second time getting a smash burger and vanilla shake from Matts Burger Lab, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Bacon & Cheese Smash Burger is absolutely delicious. The Vanilla Shake was a perfect addition to it and I really enjoyed my meal. The washrooms were unaccessible to the customers at the time of my visit though, so that was a bit disappointing as the staff was very nonchalant about the situation. I hope that they get maintenance to fix this soon. Thank you Burger Lab!

I randomly saw this place and decided to give it a try. On the recommendation of the cashier, I ordered the Supreme Burger combo. While it s not the best in the city, it s definitely one of the top 5 burgers. I especially loved the sauces. I wish the restaurant continued to make such delicious food, and I will definitely return. A special thank you to Yasemen for recommending the Supreme Burger and friendly behaviour. Very tasty burger, but the bun was cold and was barely thawed. I mentioned to hostess, who happily took it back to fix, and brought back the same thing cold ;-). To be fair, we have to eat gluten free, so they had to grab one from fridge I guess, but we also paid an extra 2$ for this bun, you d think they could at least warm it up . Fries were also cold :-(

First time here! Came after Burger Drops. Ive seen this place for a while now and always wanted to try it. Place is a bit awkward, you have to go upstairs to order and get your food but dining is downstairs? Looks like this place was bought out from the original owners and is now run by a guy and his girl friend. She works the front of the restaurant and he looks the burgers. Asked for a recommendation but didnt really g see t one from the gf. We ended up trying the original burger (so we could compare vs. Alo go and burger drops). At first I didnt think this place served smash burgers but low and behold, they do! Burger was definitely freshly made to order. And I actually surprised me in the taste department! For the night, Im ranking burger drops as no. 1; Matts burger lab as no. 2 followed by alo go. Not sure if I would return here as there are sooooo many other burger joints to try but I would still recommend this place to anyone who likes smash burgers!!

Visited this place first time few days ago cz craving some heavy duty burger hence ordered karma is back but to my disappointment ive had better tasting burgers like Gladiator, burger factory or ozzy so this one was bland for me. There was no burst of flavours neither the chicken tenders had crunchy coating. I wasnt much satisfied with it therefore 3 stars. Took the picture late

I recently had lunch at Matt s Burger Lab and it was fantastic! I tried the triple cheese smash and poutine, along with an Oreo milkshake, and everything was incredibly tasty and well worth the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious meal!

Good food but i went on Friday for the Friday meal deal expecting to pay $12.90 as advertised on their social media, but when I went there they updated the price to $14.90 (I don t consider that a good deal for a soda, fries & a burger) if they re gonna increase their prices to their deals they should update across all their social media s, not just in their stores where the customers already there.

It was our first time eating here and I promise it wont be our last!!! The food was Beyond AMAZING!!! I had the supreme burger, sweet potato fries with the habanero sauce on the side, and when I tell you my burger was cooked to perfection and the sauces just took it over the top!!! My friend had the veggie burger, he said it was so good he thought he was eating meat ... So good that he ordered another veggie burger and fries to go lol.. now THATS a poutine! *EDIT* It pains me to say the poutine recipe has changes and the quality has shifted terribly. The fries are usually unndercooked or sometimes frozen and my faith in Matt s burger lab has been fractured. When ordering online it states there will be no fee but upon checkout it adds a $2 fee with no explanation wether it s the fault of google or the business I do not know but it is practices like this that make me completely lose faith in a business. They also respond to the negative reviews with excuses instead Of taking responsibility when an order is lacking quality. Buyer beware.

It smelt good from the outside but having a meal from there I was border line disgusted. I really dont know how this place can afford to be a float in downtown Toronto..

They allow people with pet dogs in the dinning area, absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Edit: do you think Id be complaining about service dogs here? Ive specified in my review that pet dogs are allowed, as per staff. If youre breaking the laws, at least own it.

GREAT burgers. My first time here and I got the beef bacon smash with fries. It was sooo tasty, you can tell the quality of their meat is high quality. The vibe in there is very good, lots of space to sit and eat, inviting and very clean. Also, AMAZING service from Mary, she is super friendly and very helpful. This was our 2nd visit to this location (Queen Street). First time around it took a while for the food to be made and we nearly spent 20-25 mins waiting for the food after ordering in person. Today was the 2nd time we came to this location, however since the first time took a while when ordering in person we decided to order online and pick it up. We arrived about 25 mins after the order was placed online. There was no one at the counter and after repeatedly saying hello, someone from the back came to serve us. When we gave the order number, the staff mentioned that they didn t see the order and they did not begin preparing it. They did offer extra side for the inconvenience. The food did taste good the first time we came to this location but the service requires significant improvement.

Really poor milkshake. It contained more whipped cream than ice cream - which is odd because milkshakes are meant to be made from only two ingredients: milk and ice cream. For $7 plus tax and tip, I could buy a litre of milk and a carton of ice cream, so why did it taste like my shake contained neither? As another reviewer said, it was like a cup of foam.

I have applied this tried-and-true process to the burgers at Matts Burger Lab. I have eaten burgers there drunk and I have eaten burgers there sober. These burgers pass the Ancient world test with flying colours. Not only do these burgers taste delicious, but they are also not too greasy and dont leave you filled with regrets an hour later. The meat is soft and savoury. Buns are 10/10. Toppings are fresh and tasty. As if it werent enough, Matts Burger Lab offers daily deals that are just absolute bargains. Whoever decides the pricing should be running the Canadian economy. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and helpful in making decisions. They are my personal consultants when I struggle over what to decide because everything looks delicious. Finally, Matts Burger Lab has great opening hours, which is why I was able to run the Ancient world test. Overall, I love giving my money to Matts Burger Lab and this fine establishment is one of these places that make free-market capitalism so glorious. Very rarely do I feel so strongly about a burger place, but Matts Burger Lab deserves everyones repeat business.

You buy the burger from a tiny little counter on the second floor of this restaurant which feels very inefficient and inaccessible. Food was good, burger was huge and lots of fries.

I had a bit of a disappointing experience. Its an expensive place, expect to pay almost $30 for a burger combo and the quality doesnt reflect the price. I got take-out and realized only when I got home that they got my order wrong, and even skimped on the fries. While they had offered to remake it, I didnt feel like going back. It wasnt worth it. I ordered chicken spicy cheese chicken burger and tenders with fries ..these are one of the worst food I ever had ..it s so oily and smells bad ..the burger isn t spicy at all .. fries and tenders are literally burnt and the battering for the tenders not even sticks to it probably the moment I started biting it the batter slides away because it s socked in oil ..definitely not recommend it ..

Located right in the heart of Downtown Toronto on Queen and Dufferin Street, Matts Burger Lab is your destination for all things with meat and chicken. The menu is pretty simple as you do have the ability to have a single burger combo or a Double Burger Combo. You do have a choice to have onion rings or fries and you get a drink as well. There is a wide selection of specialty burgers as well that is on the menu. They all come in all shapes and sizes and have a wide variety of ingredients to choose from. The staff are pleasant to talk to and are nice to assist you with the menu. The only downfall I find about the restaurant that is raising a lot of red flags is the atmosphere is not so good and you do have the out of the ordinary person that walks into the restaurant asking for food. I think this restaurant is best for late night eats and I am sure that is where the business lies.. The burgers taste great, as they are grilled to perfection.

The cost vs quality just didnt do it for me as a combo came out to a whopping $18 with nothing standing out. So thats why I took off 2 stars as the quality and the associated cost does not match up for me. There are much better in the city (Lucy, Rudy, Holy Chuck). The patties are overcooked and the sauce is underflavoured. French fries are limp and soggy. Id skip this one, atleast at this location.

Been wanting to come here since they closed their hamilton location and let me tell you, so so worth it. We came a little early around 10:50 before they opened but the guy let us in since it was a little cold. the place has such a cool vibe and the employees are laid back. They re so filling and juicy I wish they brought their hamilton location back, i would be here for lunch everyday! the fries and onion rings were super crispy and were still crispy by the end of my meal (something that s hard for every place to get right). No better burger spot than this.

We went there for dinner and ordered a smash burger, chicken burger, sweet potato fries, and cajun fries. The food is delicious for only two bites; everything was extremely greasy with no flavour, not even salt. We both got upset stomachs the following day.

The food looked really good, but just tasted *pretty good*. The fries were not crispy, and honestly tasted like frozen supermarket fries out of the oven but with added seasoning. Well seasoned, but limp and uninspired. The burger was okay, you can definitely taste the quality and time put into it. A bit heavy on the sauce, which - as a result - was a sort of invasive flavour. I will say I loved how many pickles were on the burger . Everything was well seasoned and the service was really nice :) It may also have just not entirely been for my taste, so I hope someone likes what they sees and even more enjoys what they taste!

The Matt poutine is satisfying and the medium size portion is plenty. At 6 pm on a weeknight, there were plenty of seats available. The wait time for this order was about 15 - 20 minutes. If youre transferring busses as this intersection and need to muster up the energy to go on, this is a pretty good refueling stop. Not sure about parking though, doesnt not seem like there are any easily accessible spots within distance.

Quality and Taste for sure. A bit pricey but they definitely strive to give you something for it. Their Dogs and Burgers are extremely tasty, but, holy moly, the Poutine is simply perfection. Even their packaging for delivery has been given consideration. Great Job

No clue where the 4.5 star rating comes from. The burgers are greasy, the sweet potato fries were ever more soggy and greasy. It took over 25 min to get our food. And there is no AC I do not recommend that place what so ever.

Good juicy meat, but the burgers and fries were both cold. Nothing to go back every time you crave a burger. Way better than McDonalds but not more than that. I wish they served the food warmer :(

If you order through Uber, your budget will not come as you request, and there is no section for special instructions. TO AVOID THAT, even if you go in, and there is only one other person in line to order. your order will not be correct. If you call to make sure that you cam get the order you want, the cashier will not understand and hang up on you. This has been the case ever since the owners stopped being there daily. If you want a burger not How you Want it, but However they feel like making it atm- this is your place! Matts you should be so thankful you made it through the pandemic and Do Better. I will not give you more chance to mess up something so simple as burger toppings.

Staff is kind the facility is okay but I think it needs some renovations menu is a little pricey when it isnt coupon days nice restaurant layout.

On my second visit to this restaurant tonight, the cashier was very rude. She couldn t understand me and had trouble taking my order. Her colleague who seemed more experienced and who is the usual server overheard my order and helped her to place it properly. In the end, the blonde girl ended up charging me extra for two sauces I didn t need. The charge isn t the issue, it was the service. Quite annoying, not pleased at all.

Food looked ok. Food tasted old and meh. Not worth the money. I did let them know that it wasnt very good when I had to return to the person who took my order because the burger toppings were incorrect, but they didnt care. We will most definitely not being going back to any matts burger lab.

We found this place by accident and we were very pleasantly surprised, excellent service, excellent food and very good atmosphere, highly recommended.

This place was okay. The fries saved the day. Very reasonable pricing. Medium fries (enough for two people), a drink and two original burgers for ~$35. The layout is annoying. Why not have the cashier on the ground floor? At least during non peak hours. The fries were spectacular. The burger was dry, and the brioche bun makes it even more dry. The pickles tasted like they were canned or commercially made. They do not have real bacon, only beef bacon . Not sure how you can operate a burger joint without bacon. This would help alleviate some of true dryness of the burger (bacon fat, etc). Recommendation to management: 1. At least install an ordering terminal on the ground level. 2. Mustard packets should be available 3. Chopped in-house pickles are cheap to make This place is a somewhere between Five Guys and Shake Shack.

I find this a great spot with a lot of original burgers that deserves a lot more attention in the Parkdale area. It isnt usually too busy, and theres a lot of good daily deals that work with those on a budget. Ordered the spicy fried chicken with cheese and enjoyed it. Encourage locals or those passing by to try this place out!

I ordered Mac n cheese bites along with a veggie burger on DoorDash and I was delivered chicken nuggets instead of the Mac n cheese bites. I m vegetarian and this store made me bite into something against my beliefs. I feel absolutely disgusted that a mistake like this was made

I been coming here for the past 2 years and recommended the place to my friends. We decided to get the oklahoma special and ordered 9 burgers. Let me say i never had a burger that salty in my life . . My friends couldn t eat it. They were awful. . again i been coming by here every other Thursday and this time was a huge disappointment, specially when i called back and complained about it. They literally said that the manager cant do anything for us because thats the way they make their burgers. But let me tell you out of the 9 burgers there was half that were salty and the other half just super salt salty from the first bite . .
