Diner
This place is very clean, the breakfast options are amazing. I encourage everyone to checkout if you find yourself looking for great meals at an affordable price 😋
Patrician Grill is a hidden gem in downtown Toronto, perfect for a classic breakfast experience. This place has an old-school diner vibe that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re in for a quick bite or a leisurely breakfast, the food is consistently satisfying. The menu offers all the breakfast staples—eggs, bacon, pancakes, and more—and everything is cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, and the quality is impressive, especially considering the price point. It’s hard to find a spot that offers this kind of value for money in the city. If you’re looking for a hearty, no-frills breakfast in downtown Toronto without breaking the bank, Patrician Grill is a solid choice. I’ll definitely be returning!
My first time here with a close friend, the food was so delicious (9/10), service is on point with chill energy (10) and I would recommend coming here for sure. Freshly made, feels so cozy with the interior decor in a throwback style 😎✨!!
My gf invited me out to this cute east end Diner. Service was quick and sweet! Coffee was hot, food was great and it really hit the spot. Also I really loved the coleslaw, a nice touch. I love the classic Diner atmosphere. Happy there are gems like this still around. Price is perfect !
I'm crazy about Patrician Grill. Always loved the diner concept. It's very local, like know your regulars (customers), and all that. The owner has that dry wit and he's friendly as heck. I always go for the 3 eggs with sausage (or ham or bacon), and this is the only place that consistently gets my preferred runny scrambled eggs. They're cash only but have an ATM just in case.
Service is great, which makes up for anything that isn’t. Food is like an average diner, I think eggs could be creamier and everything could use better seasoning. Coffee is decent and a nice break from espressos everywhere. they only take cash, but I appreciate they have an ATM in the back, which completely solves any issues related to this.
100% old school diner vibes. Came here on a Saturday morning at around 11am and was able to get a booth seat for 2 immediately. I saved this place on my list of places to try after seeing it on blogto's 100 must try list. We ordered the staple banquet burger deluxe and our clubhouse. Both were really good, but also not mind blowing. Great portions and reasonable prices. Would recommend and come back for a classic breakfast. Note: prices include taxes and CASH ONLY
Really great time here for breakfast the other day. The service was cheerful and quick, and the Canadian breakfast was great too. It is a cash only diner, but a conveniently placed ATM in the basement covers any worries you may have when you go to pay. I would recommend for a great affordable breakfast, thank you very much
This Place is one of a Kind. Outstanding Dishes and the Owners are badass Good
Seriously, what else do you want? The food is great, the service is great, the atmosphere is great. It s a proper old school dinning experience with a big personality running the show, jokes and all. BTW cash only. Just a heads up.
Really great dinner, old-fashioned vibe, so good + very nice staff
Absolutely incredible breakfast and great atmosphere!!
Simple, tasty breakfast at reasonable prices. Good service! Might be cash only.
Quality, classic, simple, good.
This is a neat little old style type of diner located in downtown Toronto. We were served buy one of the owners who was excellent. Food was quick and tasty. Id go again.
Pretty good diner food for the most part. Feels bit expensive for a diner but I guess the location has something to do with it.
The best diner in town. Everything is old school, and awesome, but the Hollywood sandwich, man. Have that. Chicken salad with bacon. OMG.
Great food and service in what I call an old fashioned diner. They say Nothing fancy since 1967...true but the simplicity and quality is what makes this place special.
First time eating here, doubt I ll go back. It was so promising. I ordered peameal and eggs. The food was great. Usually it s never 100%. Some diners have runny eggs, other crappy toast. Not here food was perfect. BUT priced accordingly. $20 for the above. I was looking forward to giving a 5-star review but then it came time to pay. No machines. Just cash. Have my PIN code stolen from a dodgy ATM in the basement and get charged $5 or set up a new contact and send a etransfer through my banking app. Such a shitty experience. It s almost 2025. People don t carry cash. I would gladly have paid the service fee. Get the machine, pass the costs to the customers. For the premium I m paying for bacon and eggs, I would expect a seamless purchase experience. Especially with sooo many other options around.
This is a wonderful old time style diner. Great comfort food and those diner favourites. Great shakes and Club Sandwich.
Classic diner vibes, good service and good food
Best diner in the city. They do it right.
Very cozy place with friendly staff! The food is good and comforting. Nomes is little cash payment.
Loved the atmosphere here: a VERY authentic and classic diner. The service was EXCELLENT, and the food was pretty good. My only complaint was the fries lacked enough salt, but other than that, loved Patrician Grill!
Love the atmosphere but the fact that a ~ $17 clubhouse sandwich does not come with a side other than a little coleslaw is ludicrous. Value atmosphere but not good value food.
We enjoyed a great and rich breakfast here. However, ATTENTION, CASH PAYMENT only.
Decided to find a little breakfast/lunch spot while in Toronto for the day. The service here was super fast and the staff were very friendly. The food was awesome and priced well too!
Everything is so good! The food and the service!
The service is really good and the food is nice. Definitely will visit again.
My go to diner. 10/10
I have lived in Toronto all my life and today was the first time I visited Patrician Grill. Its wonderful for diner food--good honest food that fills you. I had the banquet burger and my friend had the breakfast special. Will definitely come back next for the club sandwich. Bring cash as cards are not accepted.
The pancakes were alright. The other dish I ordered were nasty as well. Not once did my server check on me to see if the food or drink was ok for me. The atmosphere and attitude from them seems uncomfortable. Definitely won t ever be coming back.
My husband and I love coming here for breakfast. Terry is very genuine and we always feel at home. Theyre very quick too and the prices are really really reasonable! Last time he was playing some really nice bosa nova. Super good vibes every time. Just remember to bring cash! Or theres an atm as well downstairs Thanks so much Terry, we love ya! Neighbourhood gem
The service was pretty good, the food was nothing special, its competent. But what irked me the most was the cash only policy. There was no sign about it anywhere in the restaurant and I had to leave, get cash from an ATM and come back. If you are going to dodge taxes, at least put a sign somewhere saying that you dont accept cash before I order.
Be aware, it s a CASH ONLY place!! A cozy and old school diner offers nice food and service. However, you wont see any signs indicating that they only accept cash until the moment you receive the bill. It made us so very uncomfortable. We probably wont come back just because of that.
My new go to Toronto diner!
REALLY GOOD!! Super good service, so friendly and warm. The food was top notch breakfast food. Thank you!!! Food : 5/5
Good experience. We went there on Saturday at 12 p.m. and waited 10 minutes for a table for 4 to become available. The meal was good without fuss, friendly waiter, very reasonable price and old-fashioned dining. The restaurant only takes cash. The less positive point is that the toilets are not very accessible because they are underground.
Excellent. A dinner like in times gone by. Unpretentious cuisine but very, very good. excellent .
Awesome!!
Food was fine, but service was pretty abrupt. Only take cash, and only communicated this after food served. ATM in basement for $3 fee. Who in 2024 has no POS.... Wont go back.
Awesome!
Very cozy place with friendly staff! The food is good and comforting. Heads up its cash only. I didnt appreciate being told after my meal but thankfully my bank was two minutes away.
Food was terrible, owner was super rude. Definitely wont be back.
Great value, nice and clean. They keep original equipment since they opened 1953.
Beautiful place, very cozy and full of love They keeping authentic food and authentic decisions from the beautiful decades. Love it Recommended dishes
Happiest place on Earth. Havent been here in ages. What a treat. Picked up a wicked nice shirt. BLT on point. Dining partners standard breakfast specials were the same as ever. This place is solid as a rock, and I needed a recharge.
Great lunch! Quite the loudmouth behind the counter but I guess thats atmosphere?
Good taste
Classic.
VERY old school diner. Fast service, typical menu, a bit shabby but not chic. Love the Club Sandwich. BRING CASH! We barely made the bill by dumping our pockets of change... Wheelchair accessibility: Not.
I had a solo lunch at Patrician Grill today. I work in the area and was in the mood for a simple, tasty, comforting meal and this totally hit the spot. I had the daily soup (homemade Potato) and a Club Sandwich with fries. Everything was great and I especially liked the atmosphere. Lots of regulars in the place and I just really enjoyed the ongoing banter around me. It made the place feel really warm and welcoming. Ill definitely be back again.
Service was amazing, food came super quick, hot and tasty. Best home fries in the City, well-seasoned. Great ambiance and uncomplicated but extensive menu. Highly recommend!
fast, friendly, no nonsense. They have good coffee and an old school charm thats everything I look for in a greasy spoon restaurant. Cash only because VISA are vampires
Best of the best
This place is a gem. Great food. Reasonable prices and owner is lovely. The place is a traditional diner. The booth seats have served their time so some uncomfortable but in the end it s part of the places charm.
Best breakfast in Toronto! Weve moved over an hour away and still make the trip as often as we can for those pancakes! My mouth is watering just thinking about them!
Nice place to eat good food with kind service :) Fridays meatloaf is incredible !
Awesome diner! Friendly staff AND welcoming . Great breakfast, cant wait to try the open face turkey sandwich w gravy. Next time!
This is your classic diner with bench seating and booths. The food and service is great. Most people are regulars and know each others name. Keep in mind it s cash only.
Great food great service best breakfast in town
Classic diner, great service, great food
It simply does not get better than this. Banter and eggs with a side of coffee.
Classic old school diner, quick service. Cash only.
Great place for breakfast, owner is very dry and very funny, great food and service. Try the peameal bacon.. Wheelchair accessibility: Bit tight but manageable
Great quality diner-style food, friendly atmosphere.
Came here for a weekday brunch for my partners birthday. Normal diner on King Street. Be alerted it is CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM and Scotiabank down the street. Food mate had the standard french toast, fluffy toast, fresh, came out warm. I had the non meat breakfast, standard, homefries was crispy and warm. Okay for brunch, nothing fancy. Prices are reasonable, most dishes or all are under $20. Server was straightforward, no fuss. Overall: ok for breakfast, no fancy things here, must pay cash.
This is cash only restaurant. There is an ATM in the back. This is a straight up old school diner. They serve classics, just as you would expect them. They are good with kids and appear to have regulars. This is the first time we visited, so I cant speak for the whole menu, but what we got was good and at a reasonable price.
Located near King & Sherbourne, we can easily see the Patrician Grill s 50 s-style sign. The throwback experience doesn t stop there. When you walk in the doors you are instantly brought back to a diner in the 50 s. The booths and bar stools were upholstered back in the day and have purposely not been changed (so cool!). There is a big open kitchen where you can see any and all cooks prepping the food. The pictures on the wall are picture advertisements and marketing that took place at a time when we were young or not even born. Some of the artwork is even done by the owner (Terry) - we found out that Terry actually holds an annual art show at the restaurant where anyone can come in and check out what his heart decided to show the world - Thanks Terry . Also, Terry LOVES music and will play either classic rock, jazz, Frank Sinatra or on the off-chance some classical tunes. This restaurant breathes authenticity. Terry has done an excellent job maintaining the integrity and authenticity of the place because of who HE is which comes out in the experience. Terry isn t fake and greets you however he feels like greeting you - don t expect a fake smile (a breath of fresh air!). The menu has the typical selections of most breakfast restaurants but it s the tastiness that sets it apart. Nothing fancy here about the look of your food but you can be assured that restaurants from the 50 s pride themselves on the taste, more than the look We ve been here many times and have stuck with a few items because there s no need to try anything else (for us). Even though we have limited our selection, anything we ve tried outside the norm of breakfast has been delicious! The sausage or bacon and eggs are amazing! So tasty! We love that they give 3 eggs with your meal instead of two. Friday s are a special day when Chris (head cook & Terry s brother-in-law) makes what they call Meatloaf Friday s) - so good! Home cooked meatloaf, mashed potatoes (real ones) and corn. Definitely a reason to show up on a Friday. This is where it gets amazing. The BLT and clubhouse are hands-down the best we ve ever had - anywhere & anytime! We d recommend asking for extra bacon on the BLT-it will be that much tastier and fill you up properly (without feeling overly full). And finally the piece de la resistance is the rice pudding. Homemade every week, it s the best rice pudding we ve ever had. First off, to consistently make rice pudding of this calibre is unheard of. The texture and consistency of the pudding is incredible and Chris cooks it WITH raisins making the treat sooooooo good. We ALWAYS ask to see if they have it available and if they do SCORE! We never want to share and will get one for each of us. We absolutely love coming here. Chris & Terry are amazing people and we love what they continue to do even after Terry s dad took over the business back in the day. Thank you so much Chris for blessing us with your cool, chill smile and Terry for always being YOU and reminding us that true happiness is always just about being yourself. We love all the staff (including Del who started last year and brings a bubbly, happy personality to a diner that accepts & compliments her style. This is our experience. What s yours?
Nothing fancy here. And they re proud of it. But excellent no frills food. Was full for the whole day after breakfast!
I popped in for the first time this morning , this is a proper old style diner I ordered meatloaf and loved it, homemade and tasty, mashed potatoes homemade and not from a box, vegetables and fresh bread and butter with lashings of gravy ...... Its simple honest food at a very reasonable price, Ill be back to try the burger!
Good was good and owner was really cool!
Amazing staff! Delicious food and great atmosphere!
First time here and I loved it. This is an old school diner and I will definitely be back. Service is the best out there. Great atmosphere
Been here twice for breakfast now, no nonsense service and food. Good prices, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Classic breakfast place that is open till 3 with delicious French toast
Ordinary diner. Love it.
A Toronto classic.
Classic diner style restaurant with traditional menu options. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bread was well flavoured, however the home fries were just ok. Beware this is a CASH ONLY place.
Built in the 50s and has a perfect old diner feel! I highly suspect that our server was actually a ghost of an original server who just helpfully haunts the place and keeps it running smoothly. The open grill lets you see them cook and gives it a lot of charm! Inexpensive, delicious. Hollywood sandwich was perfect. Hit the ATM in their definitely-not-a-murder-scene basement as they are cash only. 10/10, eager to return!
Great food and service went twice that good worth visit for breakfast
Not sure why it has so many 5 star reviews. One of the most overall spots Ive been too.
Food is decent for price, which is relatively inexpensive. Cook doing a good job managing orders, but cashier/server was rude. Cash only with internal ATM (and fees). Was only an issue because the cashier only returned large bills as change, in attempt to try and increase tips - again, for not great service. I don t mind old school diners, and was actually looking for exactly that, but it doesn t excuse bad service or shady tactics. Update: since there was a reply and seemingly some confusion, I should be clear: the rude service was unrelated to cash games. Server was rude when answering basic questions about surprisingly limited breakfast menu, and rushing to get us out when we asked for another coffee after finishing meals ( as long as you don t stay all day - if this was a joke, delivery sucks). Then the server/cashier didn t break change down in a way that is conducive to a normal tip, so I DID have to ask for change because there was no way he was getting more than a basic tip based on his behavior. If there was any confusion before, I hope this clarifies things.
What a great find. We arrived mid-morning. Id hoped from the signage that it was going to be the old-fashioned diner Id wanted. I wasnt disappointed. Diner owner (Terry?) was there with his brother-in-law at the flat-top. Booths, stools, anchient phone, old photos. Perfect. Others wandered in. Most were regulars. Noobs like my wife & I were treated no differently. As soon as I ordered poached eggs and was told Too fancy, I knew I was home! The food was great, the service better and the philosophy free. Just go to The Patrician.
Great breakfast but cash only :( Theres an ATM downstairs though.
Nice place for a lunch. Great food, good service.
Great way to spend my 61st birthday with family. Patrician sandwich with soft egg! Epic My favorite is there coleslaw! Food : 5/5
Waiter was on the ball despite the crowds. Food was alright, but theyre pretty self aware of it, motto being nothing special since 19... Wait time exceptional, we got it within 10 minutes. Atmosphere needs lots of work. Prices you absolutely cannot beat anywhere else. Worth the visit overall. Well done!
One of my favourite places for breakfast Delicious, all very nice and clean. Food
Can t beat a classic in the city. Food is hot, fast, and delicious. Cozy atmosphere with great tunes. Need more places like this!
This place has quickly become our new fave diner. Amazing food that s fresh, hot and served super fast, even when it s very busy. Staff is kind, welcoming and the ambience is perfect. Can t wait to go back soon :-)
Really happy with the service and food.
Me and my friend came by for lunch and there was really great and attentive service. Food is also very good! Terry served us and was such a fun and kind server! Definitely recommend!
Great old school diner with standard diner fair. Hot plates, burgers and sandwiches. Been there over 50 years. Daily specials and such.
This is one of the remaining open grills in the city. Unhurried this is a place where we linger and feel welcomed by regulars.
Best club-house sandwich in town!
Fast service. Good prices
Great diner for reliable/traditional breakfast food! No non-dairy options for coffee/tea, as expected. But the portions are generous. The owner is also hilarious and makes you feel right at home. It is cash only, but there s an ABM on site. Will definitely come back :)
Good breakfast, attentive service, recommended. Seating is due for replacement.
Very good typical diner food. A little pricey.
Enjoyed a delicious club sandwich and some of the best homemade apple pie Ive had in a long time. The atmosphere is welcoming, the place is run tightly, and hey you might even run into a former Leafs player there, like I did!
A hidden gem! Hop into this place and take a travel back to the 70s when this kind of diner was prevalent. The food was quick and delicious, the staff, hilarious and social, cracking jokes and laughing. Leave your hipster avocado and toast at home, this is the real deal here, bacon, eggs, delicious homefries and real butter on the toast. Why wouldnt you come and eat here!
The Patrician is the Definition of a Diner. I hope they don t change a thing.
One in a million place. Loved the food, people, atmosphere. Not too expensive like everything else today. Will definitely be returning.
Hello dear diner owners. I am giving you 5 stars just because of the warm stories I read about you online. It seems you have done great for yourself and survived the recent events that hit manny business owners. I will be planning to indulge in a few items on your menu and cant wait to be wowed like others before me. Hopefully I will dine with you as soon as I recover from this bloody covid virus since I will need a nice hearty meal to get me back on my feet.
Cheeseburger OK.
Great Downtown diner with a true diners décor...Good food diner.
Last great diner in Toronto.
Loved this spot! Wicked little time capsule, great breakfast and the staff were excellent. Cash Only! Would 100% go back if I found myself in the area again.
Old school cash only breakfast joint.great staff food booths service
Good diner experience. Enjoyed a nice breakfast, ordering their Louie special. Very generous portions. Waitress was friendly. Food was prepared well. Happy to have gone!
Great food... home fries taste home cooked... quick friendly service... good value... would definitely come back again!
Good breakfast, great service, emblematic spot soon to become also weed joint
Really good food and awesome server. He was so so kind to us, we ll definitely be back soon.
One of the last parts of Toronto that really feels like the good old Toronto. Good prices, better food. Ask Terry for some jokes... and tip a little extra.
Very friendly staff excellent food
This old-timmy dinner is super clean, has amazing food, and its staff is just terrific!
Classic diner feel with the delicious food to match
One of the best traditional diners in Toronto. Breakfast special in particular is delicious and of great value. Cash only - tip generously!
This is an absolute must visit. Terry, the owner & server, is great. The food is served hot, fresh & is exactly as you asked for...if not, theyre quick to redo it. Reasonably priced, to boot. This will be my new breakfast place for this neighbourhood!! 6/27/22....This afternoon, we decided to test out their lunches...Hollywood club was plentiful & delicious....I have the grilled chicken on a Greek salad....only to be out-done by Moms apple pie....omg...perfection...not to sweet, yet not sour....full of apple chunks and truly flakey crust....an absolute must try....Cheers to yet another stellar meal!!
The best breakfast hands down in Toronto. Terry is a gentleman and a scholar. Cash only establishment that serves up a traditional breakfast just the way you want it.
Great consistent breakfast at a good price. Neighbourhood staple. Cool staff. Come here every weekend!
Love these old fashioned diners, even the booths were a tad tight so very cosy! Their clubhouse special amazing sauce. Chocolate milkshake wouldve been nicer with whipped cream, forgot to ask for thicker. Cash only. Nice, quieter end of street. Great service.
The food was good, for the price its worth it. But the place is amazing, looks like a dinner from the 70s, in amazing shape.
The Cheeseburger Deluxe was really great. I will definitely be going back.
Cute little diner. Food was tasty. Only thing is .they only take cash. So if your going .make sure you have cash on you.
In my opinion this is the best dinner in the city. When I think about diner every thing should be like this. This place is a gem. The owner, staff, waiter are above perfect. U feel comfortable the moment u get in. I ate steak and eggs and I cant describe how filling it was. If i could I would spend my every mornings in there. Classic
Cash only warning. Great diner, what you see is what you get. Great value too.
The owner is hilarious, they make a great breakfast too
Great service, old school diner, great vibe. Delicious toasted western sandwich and they have toasted Danishes!
A truly authentic and delicious diner experience. Whenever we walk by the place is packed and now we understand why! The owner (who is also the server) makes you feel right at home and as if you are a regular. My partner and I ordered the classic breakfast special and completely cleaned our plates - the hashbrowns were exquisite and the toast buttered to perfection. There are nice touches on the menu itself that shows the family history of the restaurant. I m sensing this spot will become a Friday lunch time tradition for us - can t wait to be back! (It is cash only, but they have an ATM on site).
Great vibe and classic diner food with timeless decor.
Classic cash-only diner. Love it.
Good old-school diner experience. They had meatloaf the day we visited so we got ourselves meatloaf sandwiches for lunch, along with some french roast & coffee. The meatloaf was juicy and the sandwiches were pretty filling. Good service and quick too given the fact it was fairly busy.
Amazing breakfast spot! Been coming here for years now and it truly never disappoints!
Quick service and good food.
Had omelets there this morning, looking forward to going back for a burger. Quick, friendly and yummy. Ps- bring cash
Microwave taste food with intimidating service
First time here. Love the atmosphere. Good food and will definitely be back. Food
Delicious, fair priced, good quality, homey breakfast. After having walked past this place for years always after hours I recently managed to get to try it. The place is very unpretentious, staff is nice (although some might not get the witty sense of humor of the manager/owner), and focused on real food. Love the ambience and that handwritten poster at the window. I had the classic breakfast with 3 sunny side up eggs, bacon, potatoes and coleslaw - all cooked to perfection and not oily! (My partner had an omelette loaded with mushrooms, said it was great too). And based on pictures posted by others, service looks very consistent, which is great because you know you are going to get good food.
Was there for bacon and eggs it was very good fast service and 14.25 including tax and coffee good deal.
Food wasnt good. I had fish & chips.. the fish and fries were overfried, coleslaw was old and tasteless. Almost $16 for 1 piece of frozen fish Owner was very brash, didnt say youre welcome or no worries every time I said thank you. Will never come back, better food and service at the restaurant a few doors down called PETIT DEJEUNER.
Charming little spot, absolutely love the old school feel, good comfort food with no frills. Friendly service. Eat here.
Big portions, huge variety, great taste. *Cash only Recommended dishes
I love the Patrician Grill! Its been around for years. The food is great and classic diner food. Love the people!
THE BEST classic diner in Toronto, and Ive been to quite a few. The service and atmosphere is excellent, and the food is always cooked perfectly. Delicious, large portions - literally everything on the menu is great. Great jazz music playing on the speaker. But its really the owner and staff that keep me coming back! Great family owned business to support if youre looking for a good breakfast or lunch spot in the area.
Visited here for breakfast while visiting our son in Toronto. The breakfast was excellent! They served cold slaw with it that tasted just like my Mother used to make that I have never been able to replicate. Staff was very friendly. Make it a stop if you are visiting!
Great food Grwat people
Melt in your mouth meatloaf
Best classic diner experience. Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing!! If I lived in Toronto this would by my GO TO place!
Is everything that is great about Toronto the good to us tourists. Great food expertly prepared by someone over 18 who takes pride the their lifes work. Wonderfully served by someone with attitude who cares and again is over 18 and knows knows about something more than the dinner. Highlight of my trip to Toronto. Inn fact their was a notice up saying they were closing for a few days due to a movie shoot Cant wait for another grilled danish. Well worth a look.
Great food and great service!
Family owned. Just get the BIG breakfast cause it fills you up. Great environment, excellent food.
Family run friendly, great food.
This place is the real deal . Great diner food and atmosphere, experienced friendly staff .
Great little diner with delicious food. Cash only, unfortunately.
Excellent friendly service tasty homemade food good prices if I lived in Toronto I would frequent it more I enjoyed my meal very much
Some of the best scrambled eggs you can get. Terry is a great host, full of jokes and stories.
This place is awesome, somewhere thats fells authentic in Downtown Toronto! Awesome breakfasts. Theyre motto is the best - Eat here, diet at home
What can you say about a Diner that serves good quality food, friendly humorous bite your tongue service and wont bend to big debit/credit charges to businesses by having cash only for payment? Awesome! Thats what. Im surprised more places dont follow suit. And gawd help you if you show up with a bunch of crumpled up bills. Ensure you dont meet with the wrath of Khan by ironing those notes. Nice and neat now. Clean 50s Diner with booths and counter seating. My steak was not only perfectly cooked at medium rare, a challenge for any breakfast steak but perfectly seasoned as well. Apparently a serious obstacle for other Diners in the area. The coffee is good and refills will come your way. Covid protocols in place and followed.
Perfect !
Great food and service
Classic fun diner.
Best diner in left in T.O
This is a great hidden gem on the east side of town. Breakfast met all my expectations for a classic diner such as this. The food tasted good and the portions were perfect. Friendly service from the staff. Inside could use a deep clean and face lift but you kind of expect that lived in look at a diner anyways.
A very traditional American breakfast that has been open for many years. It is a place where you can have breakfast every morning. Very comfortable and cozy. Sitting inside, I feel like I dont live in a busy city like Toronto. The classic leather sofa makes you feel like you are acting out an old movie. When you have nothing to do, it s not bad to have a cup of coffee inside.
Food, service all very good!
Top notch diner.
Great food! Cash only...
It feels like Ive travelled time to the 90s. Good foods and services. Cash only, FYI.
Cool old school diner
As always great food and service. I believe they have the best diner style food anywhere in Toronto
Very nice family-owned restaurant. Only accepts cash. Local gem
Nice one
Open again, as of Monday August 10th. Same great food, new plexiglass dividers or take-out.
The best breakfasts served by the best cooks. Love this place. Toronto treasure
The Patrician Grill is everything a classic Blue Plate diner should be. The breakfast never lets you down and the staff treats you like a familiar neighbour. Portions are great and inexpensive. Thanks guys!
UBest diner inomtario. Great food and wonderf family owners/staff
Back in the mid 90s, we used to get breakfast at the Pat and play eucre in the back booth and drink coffee...before cooking classes at GBC. 26 years later, still remember it as a great place to eat and hang with my buddies, all now scattered to the four winds.
This place is the best diner in the city of Toronto!
Unquestionably, the last of the great classic diners in Toronto run by a dedicated family passed down and preserved in time. Ive watched all the old spots get snatched up by greedy retro vampires trying to overcharge for the simple pleasure of a decent breakfast, a hot coffee, and that classic atmosphere. Im so glad the Patrician has held fast all these years. I live in the west end now, but I hope I can make a pilgrimage back to this wonderful diner which holds nothing but good memories for me. Please never change! also, the home fries are killer!
Used to go there back when I was a student at GB. Loved it and am happy to see it is still around. Hard to find a classic greasy spoon restaurant and this one is a gem!
