189 Wallace Ave, Toronto, ON M6H 1V5, Canada
Full takeout menu, beer, wine and grocery. Kitchen Open 12:00pm-9:00pm Mon-Fri
Awesome spot that does some great food. Get a chili dog or some fried chicken and you’ll have the best day ever. They sell a variety of goods from obscure Mountain Dew flavours to local beer and spirits. As well as pantry items and delicious Korean food. Love this spot!
Pepper's offers a unique business model that may not be for some, but certainly served me for my intended purpose. I turned to Pepper's to kill some time whilst in the area, and although I wasn't expecting much, I was still pleasantly surprised. There is currently no indoor seating as this establishment primarily runs on a grab-and-go model, however, there is a rather pleasant front patio that does offer outdoor seating. And while this is primarily a grab-and-go model business, they still have a kitchen that offers fresh cooked diner-style food as well as a vast selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic ready-to-consume beers and beverages. On a nice day, with some time to kill, Pepper's is a great choice in Toronto's Junction Triangle.
such a fun addition to the neighbourhood! The cheeseburger is like a better quality version of a mcdonald's burger and I say that in a loving way- the same delicious flavour that reminds me of my childhood minus the grossness of a fastfood chain. The fries are delicious and a great selection of craft beer and cider.
I literally order from here at least once a week. Today I ordered the garlic toast. It's $5.50 on the menu and I received one piece of toast. Ps this is like wonder bread toast. Normally it is two. Already not worth $5+ but ok. I don't know who thought it was appropriate to send somebody one piece of toast for $5.50 (it actually may be $5.99) but I will literally never order from y'all again. ✌🏼
Delicious weekend special. Service by cashier could be improved. He's not very helpful unfortunately even though I asked questions before paying. Food quantity didn't match the instagram photo which showed 2 sausages per portion.
I had high hopes for this place but it was only ok. The fried chicken wasn’t crisp enough and was also not fresh. The only think that I thought was exciting (though I didn’t buy anything) was the Korean convenience store options with frozen food, fun snack, side dishes and drinks.
Got takeout! Owners and staff inside were very friendly! Lots of comfort food! My favourite was definitely the fried chicken and gravy! I regret not trying their curly fries because they look really good. Also really enjoyed the chili cheese dog. Fun shop to browse and if you are feeling indulgent, it’s the perfect stop!
An oasis of cool pantry finds on Wallace. Well-curated selection of beers, wine, soju and sake as well as most of the Dillon's lineup. Basic grocery needs but the real star of the show is the takeaway food. All kinds of banchan (Korean side dishes) which will enliven any meal you're putting together. I got some ramp kimchi and spicy, crispy anchovies which made for a killer fried rice. The counter pumps out a small but mighty menu of fried snacks. The burger is decent. I loved the wings which were crunchy. The sauce the buns came with makes for a great wing sauce too. Buns were pretty good too. Fries were excellent. Perfect ratio of crispy to soft potato. Seasoned well too. Great selection of soft drinks if you don't consume alcohol. Highly recommended.
Yummy borger. (only 4 stars for not being wheelchair accessible sorry) Food : 5/5
Its a nice place that mixed restaurant and convenience store. Price for their burgers is a bit on the expensive side for what youre getting, but the ambient is really cool and staff was nice.
Fried chicken and curly fries were yum and the hot sauce you provides. Not too many seats just outside some chairs. More for take home. Food : 5/5
Love the food. Love the vibe. Love the people. Im here way too much. Please get less good so I dont eat out so much.
Arguably best hot dogs in west Toronto
Cool spot and affordable.
The specials always slap and their hot dog is a staple in my life.
fried chicken curly fries and tropical 7 up. soooooo good i ate it before i coild even take a pic!
Remarkable improvement. Will Definitely becoming a regular once again Food
Cool spot
I feel so fortunate to live in the same neighbourhood as this incredible gem. Incredible fried chicken, burgers and lunch plates daily, and every weekend they make a special that has never failed to impress. One of my favourite places in the city.
I feel bad rating Peppers 3 stars because their staff were very helpful and kind, however the food we ordered was poor value in my opinion. We spent $22 for a few short ribs (probably not enough meat for one person for a meal), some white rice, and a small side of mac salad. The taste was mediocre to decent, and the overall quantity was quite small for the price point, especially considering it was mostly rice. However, the confectionary component of the store is really cool and features many unique items, such as mango-baha flavoured Doritos, and chocolate almond Pocky. I would recommend this more for the confectionary and excellent service than I would for hot food.
Stopped here for a bite to eat during the power outage. It was my first time here... and MY GOD! The Yummy Burger was one of the best burgers Ive ever had!! Yummmmm!!!!!! Cant wait to try more!
Nice little hidden gem, definitely coming back.
Extremely straight forward dishes executed perfectly. Like a bicycle with a V6 engine.
Peppers is one of our neighbourhoods go-to spots to bring friends and for a quick date night. Our first visit was on a weekday. We loved their fried chicken and treated ourselves to unique sodas and snacks that you wouldnt typically find at a grocery store. On our second visit, we came on a stat holiday and found out about their weekend and stat holiday specials, which change constantly and are posted on their Instagram account. We had the fam jam, which came with lasagna, noodles, spring rolls, BBQ, and other items. Peppers is like an elevated convenience store stocked with tempting treats. From different sodas to snacks and even Korean goods, its a treasure trove for those looking to explore new flavours and indulge in old favourites. But beyond the delectable dishes and unique offerings, what truly stands out about Peppers is its warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Had the juciest Fried Chicken Sandwich here, would definitely recommend. The sandwich was simple and delicious
every time i come here or order in from uber eats i have a lovely experience. such a good price for such good food
Great customer service. Owner is very kind and welcoming.
Peppers is definitely a staple in the area. Amazing food if youre looking to grab a quick bite or a wide range of different snacks/flavours you dont typically see elsewhere
One of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had!
Great food. Interesting products. Take it to go. :)
Id probably die without this place at this point ngl 10/10
Nice selection, good prices, friendly staff. Ill be back
Awesome food, fast service and very friendly. Tons of selection too
Sooooo many options here. From old school candy, new types, foreign snacks to fermented foods, prepared meals, beers and then a full menu of delicious hot food, they have it all. Love the Filipino stuffed buns Food
We got 2 fried chicken sandwiches, one burger and some curly fries to share. They weren t exceptional at all, and tasted like prepared frozen food elevated with potato buns.
Food is reasonable and delicious
3 1/2 Stars: The fried chicken is the real winner here. Delicious and done right. The Yummy Burger deserves points for having a unique, distinctive taste, which most burgers don t have nowadays. However, just as wildly as it swings for the fences, it missed for me. Still, applaud the effort. Overall, worth a try and multiple visits for the fried chicken and exotic snacks.
Im new to the neighborhood and you guys have been nothing but kind and awesome. The food is absolutely unreal and I might say the best fried chicken Ive had in Toronto. I keep meaning to take photos for the Google page but I end up eating the food first and forgetting. Amazing. Thank you.
Pretty much everything you need under one roof including tons of sugar for the kids lol. No wonder the kids beg me to go every day.
Best Bodega in the city!!!
They have delicious beef patties and their fried shrimp sandwich is paradise!
amazing staff amazing selection
Love this place. A classic fried chicken hole in the wall kind of place inside a really interesting variety store. The breading is a little sweet for some but thats my preference. The rest of the store carries a lot of American and Japanese sweets as well as a mix of interesting Japanese spirits/liquor. The only place in Toronto I ever saw Rap snacks sold! Kid-friendliness: So much candy
Fantastic spot with a ton of variety. Very relaxed and the hot food counter is very tasty. The convenience store side of peppers is good as well, though its on the pricey side given its more hip vibe compared to a regular corner store. Every now and then I find something new and interesting in the convenient store which is fun.
Just a burger! Not fancy, just the best burger youve had in ages. Comphort food at its finest
We got some late night baos and that was the best. Welcome to Toronto!
So fun 2 explore. Love their snacks and vibe.
Tuck shop with international snacks/drinks, rotating menu items and a solid selection of craft beers.
solid take on a Bodega in Toronto where we dont actually have interesting convenience stores
awesome neighbourhood spot & unique weekend specials
Food is SO good. Hot and fresh. Fair price. Great specials. Amazing staff. What s not to love.
One-of-a-kind bodega with everything your heart desires including delicious Korean food, a nice variety of beer and more
Terrible. We ordered today through Uber eats under Peter Lawriw Bahan and were discriminated against. We ordered tasty chicken, hot dog pasta and curley fries with three ciders. The ciders did not arrive. I believe that I e were discriminated against because we are gay. I am disappointed that no one even picked up the phone. I am so sad and very disappointed that in 2023 a hard working family values Canadian couple cant even receive their beer and cider when ordered. Please resolve this issue. We will be contacting our lawyer.
Went for the rare sweets that they carry and found out they have a ton of other great stuff such as rare liqueurs, condiments (Taco Bell sauce!) And sandwiches. Great selection of ramen ingredients for home.
Delicious, fresh, food and great service.
The shopping area in the front has some unique things you dont see that often in Toronto. They have good selection of hard to find candy, snacks, sauces and soda. Their menu seems to be inspired by Jollibee. I tried their spaghetti. It was less sweet than similar ones Ive had. More like bolognese mixed with the sweet Filipino sauce. Ive also had their steamed beef buns a couple times. Everything had lots of flavor and was responsibly priced. I look forward to trying more of what they have to offer.
Food was pretty good but portions are small and site is not transparent. Picture of two buns in the order is actually ONE bun. Cole slaw is tiny..cmon its cabbage. More transparency would be nice.
The store is down the street from work. They have a great selection of snacks, drinks and Asian food fare. I buy the Chicken and Fries combo meal (the Fried Chicken is BOMB )! Great place to chill in the Summer months outside. Love visiting the guys when I need a great lunch! 10/10
AMAZING FOOD BUT EVEN BETTER SERVICE Youll be taken care of far beyond food. Youll taste every ounce of love and care that goes into the food 1000% recommend
Not my taste buds. Could be better
Jaw dropping variety and fresh eats
Great addition to the neighborhood. Love that you can get spicy beef patties and kimchi buns here, along with beer and other snacks.
I love that Peppers exists, because its such a special place. Love the spicy sardines, the Kimchi, love the novelty snacks, amazing variety, and the staff are super friendly, hard working and welcoming. Eat here. Shop here. Do it.
I would strongly suggest this place for anyone who loves chicken ! I found this randomly cause im working 2 minutes away. I havent yet dined in, So for take out i would say go for it dont even think about it ! Boneless chicken all the way ! Gravy is amazing ( for me ) Rice pasta and some salad to accommodate it. People working in are humble and nice smiling people which gives a familiar experience of a local little restaurant! Julius ( if i am getting the name correct) amazing chef! Keep it up!! Good job guys !
Solid hot dog with slaw topping. Love the snack options.
Tried the fried chicken...was average at best and over priced .....
Great spot for comfort food.
Fried chicken s so petite and bony, crumby not meaty. For a fast food, they re pricey. $4 for a small gravy. Flavor wise, decent when you re hungry.
Best place around. Great snacks and a lot of beer choices
I recommend this store for the fresh prepared food. The staff is awesome too. The packaged food available for retail sale is a big hit or miss. One must check dates before buying. I ve bought things before and realized they were expired either after opening / eating or loosing the receipt to return. Most recently two packs of noodles only to realise after getting sick the best before was from months ago.
I occasionally shop here for fresh meals as well as the groceries. The staffs are friendly and like the variety of the fresh goods but I often find the packaged goods including some sauces, ramens and even sweets are out of expiry dates. I do hope this changes near future so that I can keep coming to this local store.
Came to try the aji fish plate and wasn t disappointed. The flavour of the sides won t smack you in the face; rather, they stand out in their preparation, the white rice cooked to perfection, the macaroni salad distinguished by its smooth creaminess. The fish is hot and a little greasy, just right, especially with the house made tartar sauce. I found the dish evoked pleasant memories of the fish and mashed potatoes I grew up with; distant culinary cultures that aren t really so far apart. I ll certainly be back to try more of the menu, including the incredible array of banchan to-go.
Great service, interesting selection of curated goods, and delicious well priced food
Best bodega/groceraunt place in Toronto HANDS DOWN! Plate lunches are a phenom and all the snacks in the world are available. Theres also a little fridge with these amazing Korean banchan. Theres a booze section as well with a bunch of craft beers and a swanky wine selection. Pair your lunch/dinner with some truffle chips or end it off with a dunkaroos. TRUST
Perfect spot. Definitely goes into the Top 10 hidden gems in Toronto list. The chef is very kind, the specials are delicious, the regulars are delicious. The place is just great.
Great little grocery and place for an easy/ tasty bite to eat
Good local spot with good eats
Have come here twice and the food is amazing. Only ever ordered the fried chicken but both times it was amazing! Along with the curly fries. A nice little hidden Gem
I was a bit confused when I first went in... is it a grocery store? Is it a restaurant? But the staff was friendly and now I visit for groceries, snacks, take-out, and dine-in!
From the outside it looks like an verage restaurant but inside its got a shocking amount of korean and japanese goods! Absolutely love the store
Bodega. Same owner as Pinkys Cafe..Go! Try not to trip over hipsters in the line up.
amazing food and super friendly staff.
The place had morphed into a cool Korean grocery store.
Our neighbourhood needed something like that! Great food selection, the steam buns are super good. Also they have a convenience store (a bit pricey) with some foreign products
What was once a divey sports bar and then briefly a burger restaurant is now, as of April 2021, a cool bodega/bottle shop/takeout spot serving up fresh food like burgers & fried chicken, a nice selection of craft beer & wine, Korean snack foods, and some packaged Korean meals to-go made by the owners mother. Great concept, hope it keeps going post-pandemic.
Excellent burger and fries. Excellent fried chicken. Good gravy and delicious rice. Yes.
Peppers has changed to something amazing! Lots of Asians goodies; boba ice cream, candy, all kinds of ramyeon, imported alcohol and some groceries. Spaghetti, curly fries, mango and peach pie, fried chicken combo, these are the stuff you dont want to missed. Not only food for pick-up, they have yummy Banchan ready to go as well. Its a good additional to the neighborhood!
Super cool little shop in the community! Will be back for more steamed buns
Pretty tasty. The only sad thing was the line up. Great for business but made me feel guilty for browsing
This is such a fun little spot. It s a one-stop shop. You can buy groceries, beer or liquor and rare goodies. They have a kitchen too, so you can order food while you shop. I tried the wings, the chili cheese dog, the yummy burger with curly fries and the mango peach pie. The pie was my favourite but everything else was good too. This place feels so Toronto tho because it has such mix of cultural foods. You can buy Jamaican patties, steamed pork buns and empanadas all at the same spot. Definitely worth checking out!
Incredible selection of hard to get items and specialty things. Truly hard to get out without one of each. Purchased some premade salads and they are AMAZING, I love this place new fav spot
Cool little convenient store/takeout restaurant with diner style food and some Korean items such as steamed buns. Decent craft beer selection too.
Lots of variety, one stop shop for local needs such as craft beer, home-made Korean goodies along with an epic takeout. Check out Thier fried chicken, and thier patty and steamed Bao are great as well
Really excited about this place! I may have gone overboard the first time I got food, but it was totally worth it! Everything was delicious. And I love the extra little bit of everything in the bodega, especially the Asian snacks, and sauces.
Peppers is really fun! The burger is probably my favourite Ive had in Toronto recently. Its SO juicy and tasty and the perfect size. Curly fries are a nice treat as well. Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, snacks. I appreciate it a lot and wish I lived closer!
Amazing variety of hard to find sweets and great food
Tried this place out the other day, I waited at the counter for about ten minutes before a staff member told me I had to order with someone else. I then asked for a BLT and they refused to make it for me, so I left. Simply baffling, I had really high hopes from the average reviews.
Love this place! Friendly customer service and such an incredible selection of snacks. I can t wait to try more items off the menu.
Such a legit spot probably one of the coolest stores in toronto.
My favourite local spot for delicious prepared eats on the go + love the curated selection of in store items. These guys know what they are doing.
very adorable spot with all the snacks one could ever dream of. Great beer and wine selection too.
Honestly I came to peppers to buy burger buns but I left with so much more because there is so much cool stuff in there. I picked up a lot of prepared foods which def delivered, but ill be back to try a burger. You better believe
The Yummy burger is pure bliss, Im convinced that it has the power to save someones life.
This place is amazing Go there
A new neighbourhood gem. I noticed line-ups when driving by a number of times, so figured I should try them out. I came in with no expectations - the burger and fried chicken were delish. Definitely recommend them.
Neighborhood gem
Was so happy to see this new business in my neighbourhood and excited that I can buy Massaman curry paste so close by! We tried the steamed pork and kimchi and veggie buns this week and they were delicious.
Better chicken than Jollibee.
My favourite little gem hidden on Wallace. They have everything you didn t know you needed from there fried chicken combo to nostalgic snacks like Dunkaroos to pocari sweat from Japan. Every time we visit we always find something new we didn t see the last time we came. Pro tip: Try there fried chicken combo or there burger and make sure to grab some truffle churro chips!
Their fried chicken is literally the best Ive ever had.
Great variety of unique snacks and takeaway food items. Friendly staff too!
Worth a visit just for the curly fries! The best burger I have had in a while and the chili dog plate was also delicious. A great addition to the neighborhood!
wow. the yummy burger was literally PERFECT. perfect size, condiment ratio, amazing burger yall!
We stopped in to do takeout and ended up eating some of our goodies on their little patio. Its a small, unassuming shop thats got a mix of takeout and snack foods. The hot food is solid takeout if youre feeling like a well made junkfood meal (fried chicken, hot dogs, spaghetti, pork buns etc), the banchan from Ummas that they carry is GREAT and selection of everything from instant noodles to Japanese mayo to soju to soft drinks to all kinds of Asian popsicles is amazing. Its basically a bodega made for foodies and anyone who likes Korean food. Ill be back for sure.
Nice place
Peppers is a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant and convenience store. Menu in-store is a bit confusing, but the yummy burger was absolutely YUMMY. Great fried chicken box too.
this place is straight up happiness. tried the kimchi pork baos!
Love whats been done with this place. Convenience/grocery store with hot food and some great choices for alcohol. Theres a little patio outside as well. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
A cool place to grab takeout + find unique & nostalgic snacks
A sweet friendly bodega with the best fried chicken! And the Yummy Burger is sooooo good.
This place is so fun! Loved the fried chicken and buns.
Juuulz rocks!
Go once and youll keep coming back.
I kept hearing about this place, over and over from different people, so I finally had to come check it out. Wow! I was super impressed, and I will definitely be going back to try more. Hands down some of the juiciest, crispiest, fried chicken I have ever had. The rice was perfect. And the gravy is on point. The store is filled with fun products to browse through while you wait for your food. Its also cool because its like a tiny hole in the wall inside of a wall
Amazing selection of snacks and treats. Tasty burgers and my guilty pleasure, hot dogs. Cute patio too, but no indoor seating incase you re wondering.
Great food and staff
Thank goodness we have an Asian bodega in this tiny neighborhood. Love all of Ummas pan chan. Very good selection of beers, wine and spirits. Very nostalgic seeing all the Asian snacks I grew up eating! Cute patio with some sun coverage.
Ive been here only twice but I already love this spot. So glad to have you guys in the neighborhood. The patties, hot dogs and fried chicken are dangerously good for stop in snacks or whole meals even when youre not completely hungry.
What a gem in the neighbourhood, love the little store front, has so many unique korean/asian snacks, a nice selection of kitchen staples, nostalgic/novelty snacks, beer and packaged korean food! Definitely will come back to try food off their menu!
Surprisingly good food for a convenience location. Winnnerrr!
Great food.
Great little spot that was supposed to have been a full restaurant when they opened during the pandemic, and pivoted into an amazing Asian grocery store/snack bar/import store/craft brew seller. Fantastic addition to the neighborhood (and I picked up some fun/rare snacks)!
fun store with delicious snacks and comfort food. A one stop shop in the neighbourhood! :)
The kindest cooks. Yummy burger, fried chicken and curly fries are legendary.
They have yummy little bite size treats and amazing different cupboard foods.
Lots of asian snacks and cooking ingredients. Food was also good but pretty expensive for what you get.
-Burger patty tasted like a frozen president s choice burger. -Chicken tasted like it was cooked and sat under a heat lamp for the entire day and then was flashed again right before serving I didn t think it was possible to dry out chicken thighs like that. -Side spaghetti missing. -And the crispy bun tasted like it was bought from the frozen aisle at P.A.T., which isn t a bad thing, I d just rather not pay $5 for it. -Curly fries, decent.
From the outside you might think - is that a convenience store? Is it a hot food market? Yes, its both. Their is a selection of warm food items, fried chicken, beef patties, yum burgers, sweet hand pies, and then there are specials during weekends that are Pacific islands inspired, sometimes fusion, and always delicious. The convenience store side of the business has snack foods, sauces, and unique offerings that take me back to my childhood exploring different Toronto ethnic communities as well as hard to come by snacks like hip hop theme potato chips. It is a hard to explain, must be experienced bodega. The staff are friendly and cool, the atmosphere is urban and cultural, the offerings bare unique, nostalgic, and well curated. I often find street parking on Wallace and its not too far a walk from Lansdowne Subway. Please support this small business. The guys running the shop work hard and deserve the tips. I give Peppers 5 out of 5 for doing it right. You can also buy booze to go here as well. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I was recommended Peppers by a friend and it has now become a favorite weekly destination by my family. We dont live very close, but we enjoy our visits so much we make an effort to pass by when were in the neighborhod.
Nice friendly service!
Good food five dollar ceasars, nice atmosphere live .music Friday and Saturday.
Re-opened up under the owners of Seoul Shakers/Shakers/Pinkys. Great vibe and great addition to a hip neighbourhood. They had a really cool limited menu (Big Mac/Jamaican Patty combo). Very excited to see what they will do with this space long term.
I love this place, food is great and affordable... the best part is the service Taylor is an amazing person and make me happy to see him. Fridays they have live music, its great to have a drink and enjoy the music
Incredible smash burger. Hands down the best meal in Toronto.
Amazing place. Good music and funny customers. Excellent customer service, in thhe
Not bad for what it is. Very friendly staff and inexpensive.
Great place to take the edge off and relax
Great little spot.
The staff here are superb. Around when you need them, and invisible when you dont, they are fast, efficient, and courteous.
Love love love this place
Good food excellent live Cuban music Friday nights.
The chef can cook at this place. When i go to a bar i do expect bar food to be good at all im expecting mediocre at best. This place IS the exception. They have exceptional food. The daily specials are amazing. The chef can cook.
Fast friendly service. Food was alright. About what youd expect from a diner.
Ok food Great staff!
Amazing vibe
its ok
Friendly service
