I had high expectations coming here for a quick bite but unfortunately was a bit disappointed. The place was nice but I feel like the server did not pay much attention to us. When we ordered a steak, he did not ask us how we would like it cooked. He did not show us the steak before cooking like this restaurant usually does. He did not give us steak knives until we were half done (see in picture). The steak came partially burnt on the outside for some pieces. However I enjoyed the atmosphere and some of the other foods I ordered. But I don’t think I would come here again anytime soon.

Prime Seafood Palace is not just a restaurant; it's an experience. A culinary journey that makes you feel as if you are enveloped in a warm, inviting ambiance that's perfect for a night of gluttonous delight. Let's start with the lobster spaghetti. Oh, the creamy, nutty goodness! It's like a hug from a lobster loving Italian grandma. The bone-in strip loin? A carnivore's dream. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and enough to feed a small army (or just two very hungry people). The palace potatoes? Crispy, flaky, and downright addictive. The chili aioli? A spicy little devil that will make your taste buds dance. The summer squash? Silky, smooth, and oh so satisfying. A vegetable dish that will make you question your entire life choices. Dessert, however, is where things take a turn. The maple tart, while tasty, could use a smaller slice of cheese. The chocolate cake, on the other hand, is a rich affair that might be a bit too much for the faint of heart. It's like a culinary tribute to Bruce Bogtrotter from Matilda - a masterpiece of indulgence. And let's not forget the bathroom. Yes, the bathroom. It’s pretty, but make sure you look up.. way up. you might just find a little surprise.

Hard to put my experience into words. This is, without question, one of the greatest restaurants in the world. Unpretentious, spectacular food, and the service is exceptional. On a business trip, I dined alone and the servers offered expert advice and the team provided single diner portions for some dishes so I could experience an array of the menu. I took advantage of many of the recommendations from the team and I have no regrets. I don’t even like chocolate cake but I took a slice home and practically inhaled it. I will be back, this place is phenomenal.

The team at PSP really went above and beyond. They knew that a night at PSP is a once-in-a-lifetime treat for a lot of people, and they pulled out all the stops to make the evening special knowing we came to celebrate a birthday (and the birthday boy was a big fan of chef Matheson). The staff were really knowledgeable about not just the menu, but sourcing of the ingredients as well. The meal was fantastic. From the seafood to the meats, it was a tour de force. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the crudo were ethereal. Every detail, from the architecture of the restaurant to the food, is executed at a very high level. We capped off the evening with a visit to the kitchen. I had asked if I can go to the back and thank them and they invited us in to a full kitchen tour. Being able to see where and how they practice their craft was a treat, and the chef and crew there were so genuinely welcoming, it took me aback a little. 100/10, would visit again if I win the lottery.

Outrageous pricing for the actual taste and the quality of food. Atmosphere, interior design and architecture is beautiful, service is also pretty great. But honestly they need some serious adjustments in their menu. Seafood isn’t fresh, prime rib was thinly sliced grease, Halibut looks boiled and was paired with yellow sauce that tasted like the worst version of butter.

The best part of my dining experience here was the service. I came here for a friend’s birthday and the service was excellent. I was asked if I wanted another drink the moment I finished one every time. I used the washroom a few times and each time it was cleaned and topped up with paper towels. They operate this place like some military function.

Thank you, Nick, for making our birthday celebration so special. This restaurant is amazing. Although their price point is probably out of most people's budget, save up.. it's worth it. The filet mignon, rib steak, palace potatoes, homemade English Muffin with clams, and the Escarole Caesar salad blew my mind. Put it this way everything was an 11 out of 10. Great for special occasions. Before you leave this earth book a table here!

At the time of writing, the restaurant is in review for a Michelin. I won't take off a star for it as I had a great experience, but I want to lead with the service issues that could potentially withhold them from the status. All staff we interacted with were lovely and accommodating. They seemed enthusiastic to be there. The personal side of service was amazing, but the technical side was weak. When the issues are stacked on each other and hung over a $300 bill, it becomes a concern. We arrived early for our reservation but ended up waiting 30 minutes. When offered to order a drink while we waited, we didn't actually receive it until just before getting seated. The menu wasn't explained to us and it took a long time for the server to come by and check if we had questions- this is important because it wasn't immediately apparent if the menu was family/sharing style, or single-order style. That kind of core style is important when ordering in a group. It also took a really long time to get the dessert menu after being offered it. I would say our service took ~45 minutes longer than it needed to- something that you learn to expect from your typical understaffed Toronto restaurants, but not what you expect at an elevated dining experience bustling with workers. Returning to the positives, the food and atmosphere were among the best. I have enormous appreciation for being informed of where every produce item locally comes from. Every dish felt perfectly balanced in taste and texture, with tremendous care put into it. The Spicy Crab and Tuna Taretare were especially hits. I would say the Potatoes with chili can't be skipped! Each item uses simple but exceptional flavour profiles. The atmosphere is a breath of fresh air. You feel the comfort of an elevated dining experience blended with the warmth of a cottage. A unqiue blend of modern and classic, and a thoughtful breakaway from the black painted, corporate feel of other restaurants. The scent of burning logs roams the area. I would be happy to return on more occasions! Though I also hope that more respect is given to the customer's time.

Went here for our engagement dinner and was thoroughly disappointed. Although the food was good, it was not worth the money or the atmosphere. There was pretty much no service or attention to taking care of the people wanting to dine there. No smiles or genuine interest to understand our needs. Felt like people were being forced to work there. Unless you know someone there or are an influencer, don t waste your time or money here. So many better locals spots in Toronto for great food and service.

Best restaurant in the city! Katherine was amazing and made some wonderful recommendations

December 18, 2024

We had reservations for two seats at the bar but were called and told they have a table for us for the same time, 8:30pm. We arrive on time and were told that our table would be ready for 15-20 minutes and to take a seat at the bar. Upgrade downgrade thanks Prime Seafood Palace! No offer for a complimentary bevvie due to their screw up. Just a very extensive and expensive wine list! Why would you offer me a table (the timing of availability is dictated by the service pace not the guests) and when it s not ready for my reservation that you offered me, relegate me back to the bar with no comps?! Service fail! $40 for a 5oz glass of wine and watching the sad old dude next to us chow down on $150 fatty prime rib slab at a bar, cutting his meat like Gordon Howe battling for a puck in the corners?! No thanks! Ever heard of under promise and over deliver? Prime Seafood Palace over promised and grossly under delivered! I gave my feedback to the front of house and the manager and we left. They didn t seem to care and the manager tried the age old excuse it was a busy . Ah no, don t bother with that when you charge Michelin star prices with no Michelin stars! And this was your service screw up. Bad taste for Matty s restaurants if this is the dining experience .

Blown away by the food and the staff. My wife and I had visited Bar Clams earlier in the day and told the staff at Clams that we were headed to PSP later that night. When we got to PSP, the staff asked what we thought of Bar Clams and thanked us for visiting their other restaurant earlier. They also sent us a glass of wine each and the palace bacon. They went above and beyond, my wife and I were blown away with their attention to detail, warmth and generosity. I don t think I ve had a better restaurant experience. PSP can be considered pricey but the quality of food and the service justify the prices. We got the duck, crudo, kale ravioli, palace bacon, potatoes, salad and chocolate cake. All were just incredible. I can t wait to come back!

This michelin recommended restaurant is located a bit inside on the right as soon as you cross the queen st. and shaw st. intersection. The menu is balanced with fantastic seafood, big meats cooked on the grill and serious vegetable preparations. I had the gin fizz cocktail, Prime rib roast (12 oz) with Horseradish on the side and the must try delicious choclate cake for dessert. The overall experience was simply amazing and would strongly recommend this restaurant!

Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! this was such an over rated restaurant...I think its honestly running on the reputation of Matty Matheson who obviously has too many restaurants to keep tabs on quality.... the staff is mediocre at best.... youd get a much better meal at the keg and the staff would be more welcoming....honestly such a fail in this world of over priced experiences...I personally dont mind spending the $ if the food and staff are amazing.... they were absolutely NOT in this place.....:(

Prime Seafood Palace is the only restaurant we have returned to in years and years of restaurant adventures. We try and do something new all the time we travel and just had to come back to Prime Seafood Palace. We made reservations for this past Saturday night about 2 weeks in advance. Not sure if it is always necessary to book that far in advance but maybe for a Saturday and 9pm was the only thing available so I m thinking yes to the need to book well in advance. We were greeted by Sarah (who is an all star by a landslide). I could have had Sarah sit right down with us for our whole dinner and it would have made the experience that much better. The food was phenomenal. Our server was incredible and I feel terrible that I forget her name. She was knowledgeable and personable and didn t even judge us when we doubled down on her suggestion of dish amounts. (She suggested conservatively 4 dishes per couple and we ordered 8). The potatoes are a must. Do not second guess that one. Get the prime rib. Do not bother with the fancy steaks. The prime rib is where it s at. The horseradish was the best I ve ever had. The Yorkshire pudding was HUGE. the fondue was super cute and cool. The steak tartare is one of our favs we ve ever had and we ve had a lot! The cabbage is a must. The only thing I would say we could have passed on was the butternut squash. It was good but maybe not super necessary to be one of our 8 courses. The lobster spaghetti tastes like a super fancy version of old school tuna casserole. So that s a yes for me! And we have a tradition of if the restaurant has 4 or less desserts, getting them all and they had more choices than 4 so we ordered 3 and Sarah brought out 4 anyway and candles lit for my birthday and said we had to even it out with the chocolate cake and that dessert (all 4) was on them which was the sweetest thing and the entire gesture of her as a human and then this made me cry. Anyway. We love this place and will be back again for sure. Oh and it s by far the most masterful piece of art of a restaurant I ve ever seen and just WAIT for the bathroom.

I am a huge fan of Matty. But psp really disappointed me. One word salty can describe everything. We had the caviar, prime rib, lobster and spaghetti and seafood cocktail. Nothing was up to my expectation. But the place is really nice, I can feel the classic vibe and the luxury decoration.

Food was over priced with the caviar tasteless Wine was minimally poured Prime Rib was excellent, but overpriced with everything extra, side salad was deconstructed and when integrated was mediocre Flies were were a constant issue showing little care on the staff part to keep the place cleaner. We were expecting more from a Matty Matheson restaurant, but expect this is an issue with the restaurant and not Matty.

Terrible service. Our waiter was to busy drinking wine to serve us new drinks. We had to ask other waiters for drinks and other stuff we needed. The other staff were very friendly and nice to us but it was our specific server that wasn t great. We would have ordered even more drinks and added a bit more food as well if he d bother to check in. The only way this behaviour would be acceptable if it was this man s first day on earth. The food was insane! We loved everything. The crab dip is something I ll dream about and the steak melts in your mouth. The potatoes are really good too and even the steak tartare is one of my favourites in the city. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful!! This would have been a restaurant we visit a couple times a year but a bad waiter can really ruin a meal. The service with everyone else was amazing so I don t even want to say this place has bad service.

Food was very underwhelming and thus extremely overpriced. Service was HORRIBLE. It took our party of 5 three and a half hours from sitting down to getting the bill despite finishing each course quickly (we didnt even get our mains until over 2 hours into the meal, we were so hungry by that time). Empty wine glasses waiting and empty drinks. Even after complaining about the slow pace they still took almost 30 minutes to cash out our bill. Very disappointing experience for $800.

Incredible birthday dinner. Absolutely loved the palace potatoes, filet mignon and crudo. My steak was cooked beautifully and the pepper just delicious. I was not a fan of the palace bacon but that is only because I do not like fat on meat. They made me a custom amaretto sour with egg whites and did such a great job.

Prime Seafood Palace, the latest venture from culinary maestro Matty Matheson, is a stunning establishment that seamlessly blends contemporary design with classic comfort. The inviting ambiance, coupled with the innovative seafood and steak centric menu, creates a dining experience that is both satisfying and memorable. The lobster spaghetti is a true standout, its creamy sauce infused with subtle nutty and citrus notes elevating the dish to new heights. Lobster lovers, this is a must try. The gem salad, brightened by a zesty green olive dressing, offers a refreshing palate cleanser. The meat offerings are equally impressive. The filet mignon, bathed in a rich black pepper sauce, is tender and flavourful, while the bone-in strip loin is cooked to perfection. While the service team was attentive, a minor oversight occurred when they failed to inquire about our preferred steak temperature. Fortunately, the medium-rare preparation was spot on. The palace potatoes, crispy and flaky, are a delightful side dish, especially when paired with the fiery chili aioli. Unfortunately, the dessert menu fell short. The rich chocolate cake, while decadent, was a bit too heavy for our taste and this is coming from a chocolate lover. The sorbet, though flavourful, melted rapidly, leaving us questioning the intended texture. Despite this minor hiccup, Seafood Palace offers a truly enjoyable dining experience. The elegant decor, coupled with the delicious food and attentive service, makes it a worthy destination for a special occasion or a celebratory meal.

We were able to get a last minute reservation. Our server was attentive and helpful. We tried the lobster pasta and like reviews have noted, it is a small portion; however it was tasty. The palace potatoes were nice and crispy. The Yorkshire pudding is my child s favourite and a hit. We got a prime rib that is put on the fire to char and a tomahawk steak. They tasted similar in the end. Both were nice. Having recently dined at a top international steakhouse in St Tropez we think the steak in St Tropez was better. The inside decor and the washroom are very nice. I had been wanting to try here for a while and finally did but not sure I d be rushing back or be my top choice since it was kind of pricy.

Excellent. Wagyu is a must. Daikon perfect pairing. Update Sept 27 2024. First I have to say the staff where very accommodating. I have eaten here a couple of times and loved it. HOWEVER tonight was a disaster. I invited a very special friend and we both ordered the Wagyu on my recommendation. It came with salt on top but was so salty neither of us could eat it. First cooked with too much salt but then salt dumped on top. Absolutely horrible. My friend returned hers and they made her a new one. Mine I didnt eat. They brought a new one with no salt on top but it was too salty as well. The waiter was shocked that they are putting so much salt on the steak. He said they just started doing that. It doesnt need it. Complimentary potatoes again too much salt or left over from my dead taste buds at that point. Not sure. I have had such a great experience here before. Notes..My plate was chipped and my fork was dirty. I know I am being picky but when you make it a special evening and expect to pay over $600 for dinner it has to be right. Complimentary dessert thank you, but again I ordered chocolate cake and covered in salt. I dont get it. I Ate at Nobu Toronto two nights ago and it was $1600 for 3. Exceptional. I am really shocked at how bad tonight was. I still feel crappy and been drinking water like crazy. My mouth feels burned. BTW the Staff was great and tried to make it up to us. Thank you but you need to step up your game. It was one of the worst meals I have had. Oh Salad was great. Sorry folks. Its off my list now. :(

We visited for our first wedding anniversary with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short. Our food was significantly delayed, we waited 30 minutes between our appetizer and entrée. To make matters worse, the 25 oz steak we ordered arrived burnt and bitter. While our server was attentive and apologized for the delays, the quality of the food was simply not up to the standard one would expect for the price we paid. This was a deeply disappointing experience for such a special occasion.

Just had dinner at Prime Seafood tonight. Food was decent but not nearly as good as my last visit which was excellent. The prime rib was well cooked and seasoned except the cut of meat was too lean (fat was only at the periphery) so the texture was too firm for a prime rib. Likely the firmest prime rib that i have ever eaten. Afterwards we ordered 2 americanos and we asked for sugar and milk but we were only given 1 spoon so i had to stir with my fork! I was really looking forward to coming back but we left just a bit disappointed.

It was my first visit to this restaurant. I was expecting a lot after hearing some of the reviews, but I must say I was a bit disappointed. The food was ok, but for the price that they are charging, it needs to be more than just ok. The crudo app was alright, but at 65 bucks, it should have been more special. The house bacon was quite tender but a little salty. The big disappointment of the night was the prime rib entree. It looked like it was perfectly cooked (medium rare), but the texture was quite dense and tough. I ve had much more tender cuts at The Keg and even at AYCE buffets. The cabbage side was a bit salty, and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit dry and not very flavourful. Btw they don t give any free dessert for birthdays, but they did wish me happy birthday about eight times and I did get a candle with the dessert, so yippee. Without considering price, this meal gets 3/5. Considering the price, it s closer to 2.5/5.

At this price point, this is the worst restaurant in Toronto. There are so many better options where you can enjoy an evening for the same or even less money. Taste-wise, food was mediocre at best, with desserts being actually terrible. The portion sizing was ridiculously small. Service was also mediocre. Only good things are the interior design and the wine menu. Do not recommend at all.

This is a beautifully designed restaurant - you enter through the courtyard. I did not find that the music was too loud and I could hear my fiancé talk without having to yell over him. This is often an issue in other restaurants. The service was excellent - high end, quality service. I felt that the food is really overpriced for what it is. The drink menu was good and the cocktails looked great. This was definitely a once in a lifetime visit - I will not return as I do not think the food was over the top amazing for the price charged. Left wanting for nothing. Outstanding meal and service. The entire staff pulls in the same direction and our entire experience from seating, to picking special cuts of meat at the table, to wine selection, and even cutlery (the secret drawers in the bankette) and bussing were frictionless and delightful. Food was family style and tremendous. Lobster spaghetti was made even better the fresh truffles on special - and we got them shaved on (they gave us a mountain of them). Shrimp cocktail was massive. Beef tartare was outstanding but the fact that they bake their own Japanese milk bread in-house to make buttered toast for the tartare is some magical stuff. 45 oz Tomahawk was the special and it was as monstrous as it was delicious. Carrots with uni butter were mouthwatering. Cabbage with crispy chicken skin was something I never thought Id see on a menu, but two of beautiful things put together. Bearnaise. Yorkshire pudding the size of a soccer ball, dont skip on this. Im writing this the morning after and Im still full. Expensive but its what dining should be like. Special, memorable, and something unique and delicious you couldnt do at home.

TL;DR - overpriced and mediocre. Wouldnt recommend going nor would I go back. Save the money and go to Jacobs instead if you want steak. The good: -We had a group of 6 and they gave us a little semi-private area -They offer the choice to make a menu for you if your group cant decide on food -A good amount of wine to choose from and the somm came by automatically when he saw me looking at the wine menu -They brought a comp Yorkshire Pudding when the order came as a surprise -They bring out the cuts of meat for you to see -Potatoes are good The bad: -Steak was way overcooked because the server never asked how wed like it done. Being a large group we were not particularly remembering to prompt the request ourselves. When I spoke to the server about it, he responded default is chefs choice which is medium rare. But at that price why should it not firstly be clients choice? They said their specialty is steak and seafood. Only 3 pieces were medium rare. -They ran out of tequila (LCBO strike, fine), the duck, and coffee -On the flip side the fish was very undercooked? I personally dont mind it but was surprised the server didnt mention thats how the fish will be prepared. Again at that price, there should be more care in customer service. Let us know in case someone doesnt prefer it that rare so we can either a) request it to be more cooked or b) order something else -Despite clearly being displeased at the overcooked steak, there was no attempt to rectify the situation. Instead the server offered to put it on the grill more if I needed to? Lol..The Yorkshire Pudding was offered prior as a surprise prior to the steak arriving so while I appreciate the $10 Pudding, Id prefer a new steak or comped items -Adding Uni to the carrots was $50 but the piece of uni is so small its not even enough for a hand roll

I often dine out solo at restaurants as I m in the industry and like doing the research; the service here is worth all the five stars. While the prices are quite high, the level of service you get and the quality of food matches the price tag (more so than other places I ve been). Don t skip on sitting at the bar - the experience is just as good if not better! Daniel was also a notable team member, along with another young server/bartender whose name I didn t catch but was giving me Pete Davidson vibes (sorry to management that I can t be more descriptive but I feel like that makes sense). Finally got to try out this much talked about spot. The actual dining area is beautifully designed and warmly lit. Every single staff member I interacted with was warm and personable, and their little touches (such as refolding your napkin when you went to the washroom) made the experience feel very tailored to the customers needs. The food overall is quite tasty! We had a mix of small plates and shared a few mains. This place is a steakhouse, but as the name of the restaurant implies, where they really shine is their seafood. The crudo, tuna tartare, and halibut were all standout dishes. The exception would be the lobster spaghetti, which was good, but very rich and a significant price for the amount they give you. The sides are also excellent. The carrots in uni butter and the beets with sangria vinaigrette were delightful. The palace potatoes are as good as the other reviews say, but the sleeper hit was the cabbage side with chicken skin- WILDLY good. Desserts were also fun- the Japanese cheesecake was perfectly fluffy and the Key Lime Pie with meringue was deliciously tart, although the crust was a bit too salty for my tastes. The absolute winner for us was their sorbet/gelatos- the spicy raspberry, dark chocolate, and milk toast were all amazing! (Random side note- the bathrooms are some of the best Ive seen in a fine dining restaurant. Heated seats- need I say more?) One star deducted in the food category for some of it being a little too rich (duck fat + olive oil + an incredible amount of butter can become a bit overwhelming) and for the high prices, disproportionate to a lot of the drinks and some of the small plates. Overall, an excellent experience!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the experience was fantastic. The servers are attentive and patient in explaining all aspects of the menu. We got great suggestions for portion sizes and what to expect as soon as we were seated. We tried the crudo, tuna tartare, clams, spicy crab, palace bacon, halibut, prime rib, palace potatoes, carrots with uni butter, pak choi and all their desserts. The potatoes, Crab, and bacon were standout favorites. The carrots however were missing that uni flavor (we didn t opt for the extra uni). Their desserts were just WOW. That key lime pie is probably the best one I ve had EVER. The tart with the cheese was interesting in a good way. Japanese cheesecake in berry sauce is quite forgettable and the chocolate cake was pleasantly good. We splurged quite a bit on this meal, but honestly, would totally do that again.

The service and atmosphere were good but the food was way overpriced. I was really looking forward to it but was left very disappointed. - Sicilian Crudo: it s just sashimi, the sauce was ok but nothing special. - Lobster spaghetti: just average and portion is a lot smaller than expected. I believe an average adult male can finish it in two bites. - Palace bacon: too salty and too greasy for our taste. We really liked the bacon at Gallaghers Steakhouse in NYC so we decided to order it here but it turned out to be a disappointment. - Sweet corn, shrimp: Nothing special. The only memorable taste was the corn. It was sweet and delicious but aren t all corn? - Palace potato: The potato was good but the Aioli was underwhelming - it tasted like regular mayo - 12oz prime rib steak + Palace sauce (+7$): It was already cold by the time we finished dividing the food (which was not the restaurant s fault since it s thin cut meat so it cools faster). However, because of that you can really taste the grease from the fat and the juice was just a tad bit salty. The Palace sauce tastes just those shrimp cocktail sauce with a hint of BBQ sauce which doesn t really go well with the steak and does not worth 7 dollar IMO.

I wish I could have had the same experience as other patrons. The service and atmosphere was wonderful so I will start with this positive. The food was tasty but portion size was incredibly small and the price large. We ordered the bacon and literally got 2 very small mouthfuls for $25.00. Ordered the lobster pasta. I know it was an appetizer but $50.00 for a scoop of pasta with a tablespoon size of lobster is ridiculous. I know this restaurant is on the current list of places to be seen so I guess very overpriced food is the cost of admission. That works for some but I rather get value for my money.

Absolutely incredible place. If you have the privilege of dining here, I highly suggest sitting at the bar. The bartender Santana was amazing, so nice and fun to talk to, and an incredible mixologist! The Sicilian crudo is to die for you must have it with the yorkshire pudding to dip with, and Therin (sorry for spelling) the wine expert is a wizard in finding exactly what you are looking for. The halibut and chanterelle mushrooms paired with the sea urchin carrots is probably one of the best meals Ive had in my life.

The room and the maître d were excellent. However, the experience was somewhat marred by a waiter who was subtly condescending. The food was the biggest disappointment. While the appetizers were great, the entrées were just okay. Due to an allergy, I had to remove an item from my dish, and they did not put in any replacement so what came out was extremely bland. The turnip side was undercooked and lacked flavor, as it hadnt absorbed any sauce, which was too thin to spoon on yourself to add any taste. On a positive note, the desserts were amazing. Given the buzz around this restaurant and Mattys videos, I expected more.

At Prime Seafood Palace, my dining experience was elevated to a whole new level thanks to the exceptional service provided by the dedicated staff. Matty s restaurants have a reputation of excellence so we knew we would be wowed in every aspect. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like honoured guests. Every member of staff exudes a genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. They personally greeted us upon arrival, taking the time to ensure that our needs were met and that our evening would be nothing short of extraordinary. Throughout the meal, the attentive staff, provided impeccable service, anticipating our every need and going above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. From offering insightful recommendations on menu selections to ensuring that our glasses were always filled, their attention to detail was truly commendable. In addition to their exceptional service; Chris, Vince, and the whole service team also took the time to engage with us on a personal level, sharing stories about the restaurants history, the inspiration behind their culinary creations, and their passion for bringing the freshest ingredients and vegetables from Matty s garden to their guests tables. Their warmth and hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel like part of the Prime Seafood family. We were lucky to make it early enough to try the prime rib before it sold out, it was tender and juicy, melted in our mouths. Their commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality set the restaurant apart and ensured that our evening was nothing short of unforgettable. I look forward to returning to Prime Seafood Restaurant and experiencing their exceptional service once again.

It is an absolutely beautiful space. I would have rated 4 for taste but giving it 3 because it was overpriced. Ie. Halibut was 80, but I would have paid 50 max. Steak was good, though. Beef tartare was sinewy. Tuna tartar came out lukewarm. Smoke trout was good. Service was good but not great. Waited 40 mins for appetizers. I might just go there for drinks for the decor.

Had a very good meal last night, started with a Negroni which was very good. Others had the peach beer made by Oast a great Niagara brewery and some wine. Started off with Sicilian Crudo, Tuna Tartar, palace bacon and leafy greens. Then ordered the Tomahawk steak 50oz cooked Med Rare, it was done perfect, nice char with a tasty sauce underneath served with a béarnaise sauce on the side and horseradish on the side. Also had lobster spaghetti, palace potato s which were insanely good, Caesar salad, Yorkshire pudding and some greens. Finished off with an assortment of gelato, key lime pie and chocolate cake - all were amazing the key lime was the best! This was my second time here and will be back for sure! 15/10 experience and food!! We love Matty Matheson so we had to check this place out. We had a party of 4 and we all kinda couldnt decide what to order and our server suggested that they could do a tasting menu for us. Everything they brought out was fantastic!!! They did 3 courses & a dessert course. Each course had about 3-4 dishes. My personal favorite was the appetizer course. Fresh sashimi, beef tartare and shrimp cocktail. They were also able to cater to my gluten free diet. There were some dishes that I still wasnt able to eat but they had plenty of options in each course, and I still ate VERY well. We did have to bring a 5 month old due to last minute child care canceling and they were extremely accommodating. She overall was well behaved but the staff werent judgy and were helpful with finding a spot to put her stroller. We apologize because its definitely not a super kid friendly environment, but life happens and they didnt seem to mind too much. Lastly, coolest bathroom ever lol. Dress: a little bit of everything but Id say fancy casual. Price: $$$-$$$$ Dietary restrictions: Able to cater to gluten free

I typically dont write reviews but my experience at Prime Seafood Palace was a weird one. My wife and I decided to come her to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. We ordered the smoked trout and waffles, as well as the lobster spaghetti for the apps, and they were both amazing. Then things started to fall off. We ordered the $250 tomahawk steak medium rare but it was poorly cooked. It was cooked well done instead of medium rare. For a steak of this price, it needs to be executed right. This is where the service started to get really strange. There was a couple sitted to the right of us who arrived earlier than us and they were also celebrating their anniversary. As their meal was concluding, they were offered a dessert menu but declined to order dessert but the restaurant offered them a complimentary dessert anyway, which was a nice touch. There was also two ladies who seemed to be friends enjoying a night out, sitting to the left of us, who ordered dessert to go but the restaurant gave them a complimentary dessert to eat in the restaurant. But then when it was time for us to order dessert, the restaurant made no special effort like they did the other two tables. This is poor service. Im not sure if the other two tables had a special connection to the restaurant but it made us feel less than. We werent expecting anything free or complimentary but if you provide better service to some customers and poorer service to others, thats really strange to see in a restaurant of this caliber. We have been to many Michelin starred restaurants and never had a weird and strange experience like we did at this restaurant. Toronto has many amazing other restaurants so I would recommend you try these other places out instead.

Atmosphere was beautiful and the host and server were great. Unfortunately, the food was just disappointing. Didnt expect the asian twist on the dishes and it was not executed well. The Palace Cut and potatoes were good and that was about it. The steak tartare was not flavourful at all and the excessive amount of sesame seeds on top did nothing for the dish. The toast that it came with was delicious but did not complement the tartare at all in terms of texture or taste (Hong Kong bakery style white loaf), the butter on the toast was all you could taste. The tuna tartare was quite terrible, the tuna was MINCED. I cannot understand why for the life of me why it was that texture; the tuna itself was absolutley tasteless and completely overpowered by the dill flavoured shrimp crackers and very subtle chilli oil. The lobster spaghetti was alright but literally 5 bites of noodle. As great as the interior and service is, nothing can change the fact that the food was not good.

Steak was somehow cold yet burnt and flavourless. Worst steak Ive ever had - so bad none of us had more than a bite. When I asked the waiter about it they mainsplained to me that I dont have good taste. My food was also served with hair in it. I had to tell the wait staff twice about it. The bathroom was dirtier than Union station. The architecture of the restaurant is quite nice. Addendum - They asked me to reach out to the manager. Several attempts to connect and no response. The food is spectacular of course (the lobster spaghetti was genuinely out of this world, the tuna tartare was also incredible), but I couldn t believe the service we received. For being such a beautiful space and having such a high price point I expected friendly but stuffy service. Instead, there was no air of pretentiousness at all. Vince at the front desk shook my hand, introduced himself and wished me a warm happy birthday as soon as we walked in. Jing, the sommelier was sooooooooooo insanely knowledgeable and passionate about the wine list and helped us find something in our price range. Terrible experience for their valentines day $1200+ tasting menu for two. First of all, it seemed like Matty was just discovering Japanese taste and was playing with his food. He had uni with oysters, which didnt seem like a terrible idea, but the execution was poor. The vinegar overpowered the dish, and the uni had little to no affect. I wouldve had a bump of uni alone if I had known that. What really pissed me off was the steak being served with tonkatsu sauce. If you didnt know, ton-katsu means pork-cutlet. Bro really used a pork cutlet sauce for steak. It was way too sweet for any steak sauce. The steak was great though. The service was awful. Even though I had already paid online, they tried to charge me another 1000 dollars after eating. When leaving, I grabbed my jacket from a server, but she insisted she put it on me, so she kept tugging on my jacket. I had said thank you and kept pulling on my jacket, but she insisted and didnt let go. Finally she says, I can put it on you and I say no thank you and she lets go. Weird servers, weird ambiance, weird food. Definitely not worth the 1200+ dollars I spent. I would pay 150 dollars tops for what I experienced.

For a much hyped and very expensive restaurant, Prime Seafood Palace is the biggest disappointment I ve dined at in years. Firstly, I ll start off with the service. We were a party of five and when three of us arrived, our waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink. We just stated that we ll wait until our other friends arrive and the waiter who looked he absolutely didn t want to serve us, rolled his eyes and left. The whole night, we got that vibe as even when our friends arrived and while we were ordering, he either asked them to order more food or when they asked if there was bread he condescendingly stated that the food is whatever he served. Lastly, when one member of our party accidentally spilled some water, the server didn t respond in anyway, we cleaned up ourselves. Not that we needed him to clean it, but in my experience when these things happen servers are usually pretty quick to help out. The lack of attention to detail is very noticeable. In terms of the food, for a place that s got seafood in its name, there wasn t exactly a lot of options for seafood. They didn t have any oysters, crabs or other items. The menu had one raw fish platter, a lobster pasta with tiny morsels of meat and one fish entree. Quite the joke for a place called seafood palace. As for the other dishes, the beef was decent and though most of the side dishes were too heavy and not good complements to the meat. Again for such a high end restaurant you d think they would put more thoughts into pairing the food well so the side dishes can help to balance out the richness of the main course. Of all the dishes we had, sadly the most memorable thing I ate was the palace potatoes. I ve dined at many places across the city/world ranging from holes in the wall to Michelin 3 stars and this is probably the worst fine dining experience I ve had. With drinks and tips, the meal came out to be more than 200 per person. For restaurants at this price range, I think it s readable to expect above average level of food and service. Instead all we got was overly greasy food and sloppy service. Only thing saving it from one star is the pleasant environment. If you want to eat steak, save your money and enjoy a better meal at the Keg instead.

Sincerely enjoyed our conversation. For real... come to Niagara, well hit bolete for a bite, maybe a winery. The young lady that answered when I called, and greeted me when I arrived, the hostess. Im so sorry I dont recall your name. But I should have mentioned you first. You were the first point of contact, and you are awesome. On it, you were so on it. You even came over a couple times to check in on me. Make sure everything was great. And it was. Emilio, another gem. Checked in on me a few times as well, to make sure everything was perfect. Foods outstanding. Im not even going to begin to explain how amazing it was. But it was so so great. Its not cheap, but who wants cheap? I think its priced appropriately. In relationship to what it is, similarly the wine list and cocktails. Well spent money, it was truly an experience. Thank you all. Front of house and back of house. Parking: Decent street parking and parking lot adjacent.

It s such a beautiful restaurant, a mix between Japanese and Scandinavian architecture. They have a farm to table, scratch kitchen type of ideology. The cuisine is contemporary, most notably french with subtle Asian touches. I came when they opened in July 2022 initially and then celebrated NYE 2023. I really enjoyed it as an experience. Dietary restrictions: They were very accommodating to my restrictions.

Went with a few friends for my birthday, was thoroughly impressed. We did a family-style dinner where we ordered some steak and a few other apps and whatnot, as well as a full bottle of good wine, we all left full and still came in around $200 per person with tip. Well worth it for the food and drink alone, not to mention the ambiance. Service was prompt, friendly, yet casual for such a nice environment which I actually thoroughly appreciated. Steak was cooked to perfection and all the other seafood was equally delicious, especially the oysters. Would be perfect for a date as well, will definitely be back.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. The lobster spaghetti was one of my favourite dishes of any restaurant in recent memory. The portion was small bit so rich that it was adequate. The crudo was thick cut but still so delicious. The dessert with the giant piece of brie on it was insane (in a good way).

The entrance is hidden, it s not right on Queen St., but in the courtyard. The interior is mostly wood, along with the special lighting, it gives a relax and warm vibe. Although the name is seafood , but their protein focuses on beef than seafood. The beef is good though, we tried the prime rib 20oz in palace cut, had about 18 pcs and it is great to share. Carrot tart is another dish that was memorable to me. I am usually not a fan of carrot but the sweet and charred taste was nicely combined together and it was a pleasant surprise. Service is great and somm is very knowledgeable in the wine list, which is very huge. Not cheap but a nice place to explore your taste buds. The washroom with super high ceiling is eye catching. But the basin is too shallow and water splashing everywhere.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Prime Seafood in Toronto, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the ambiance was inviting, setting the stage for a remarkable culinary journey. Now, lets talk about the food. I must admit, Ive never been a huge fan of Prime Rib, but the Prime Rib at Prime Seafood is a game-changer. It was cooked to perfection, incredibly flavorful, and quickly became a personal favorite. Dont forget to add the Palace Potatoes to your order. The layers of amazingness were an unexpected delight, complementing the main course flawlessly. Chris, deserves special recognition. He went above and beyond to ensure our evening was not only delectable but also unforgettable. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly stood out. Chris extended his hospitality beyond the confines of Prime Seafood, providing valuable recommendations to make the rest of our stay in Toronto equally memorable. As food enthusiasts, my husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Prime Seafood. The delightful atmosphere, exceptional cuisine, and top-notch service make it a must-visit for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience in Toronto.

I don t understand the appeal of this restaurant. It s supposed to be a seafood restaurant and there was a minimal selection of seafood on the menu. Lobster spaghetti, shrimp soup and a fish dish were the options. The crudo was good but extremely overpriced for the portion size. You could go to a good sushi restaurant and feed two people for the same price. The prime rib was tasty, but it s pretty damn hard to fu&k that up. The two side dishes we had were an embarrassment. The mussel dish had large hunks of inedible daikon radishes with half a dozen mussels between them. At $23 you get $1 worth of mussels and big balls of garnish. Seriously? Was this some sort of creative presentation? It was lazy and insulting to the customer. The duck fat potatoes were dry and flavourless. We had to drown them in our prime ribs au jus and mayo to bring them back to life. It s hard to mess up by frying anything in duck fat. You could roast my shoe in duck fat and it would taste better. I m unsure what the hype is for this overpriced menu and subpar food. Maybe just the name behind it. Maybe stick to burgers and pizza. I know The Bear wouldn t allow it in his restaurant.

Visited Seafood Palace for dinner and had an overall delightful evening. The ambiance was truly captivating, especially since it was a birthday celebration. First the setting; it is understandable why the interior is drawing attention not only from customers but highly acclaimed members of the architecture world as well. Admittedly, the initial reason I booked this dinner was to see the space for myself, and I was not disappointed. Every detail was meticulously executed, perfectly capturing Mathesons vision of a wooden cathedral. The unassuming façade and discreet side entrance added a charming touch because once one transitions into the interior, it is as if they were invited into a marvelous secret. Next the service; everyone from the host to our server was fabulous. Their pleasant demeanor further enhanced the overall ambiance. Our server was well-versed in the menu, providing us with detailed information and insightful suggestions. Finally, the food; I regret to admit that this is where my enthusiasm waned, and it prevented me from giving the restaurant a higher rating. Our party of two ordered the Grilled Humboldt Squid, Palace Bacon, Lobster and Spaghetti, Halibut and Broccoli. For dessert, a birthday essential, we had a variation of a strawberry shortcake. While the presentation of each dish mirrored the initial allure of the restaurants entrance, the flavors fell short of expectations. The dishes were satisfactory, but regrettably lacked the robustness of taste we had anticipated. Only Grilled Humbolot Squid and Lobster and Spaghetti gave us an essence of something else cream- but still underwhelming. Like other reviews Ive come across, considering the price point of these dishes, our hopes were set on experiencing truly exceptional flavors.

PSP is a great place to go to with a group of friends/coworkers. It s a bit pricey for sure but the food was a win, in my opinion. My only complaint is the lack of seafood options, which was a bit disappointing since it s in the name. That being said though, the Sicilian Crudo is a must order, it was absolutely delicious. The Palace Cut Prime Rib was the favourite, ironically! Definitely a good place to have in the rotation!

The service was exceptional and kind, most of all because you could tell how much everyone loved their job and were passionate about what the restaurant stood for. A real treasure and worth every penny. Highly recommend. Very grateful. ***** Also want to add we came back last week on August 15th and if you can believe it, the food was even better! Just incredible. Emma took the best care of us and we are ever so grateful for Sarah who has also taken such great care of our family. The food is so ridiculously mediocre but they lose another star because of the crazy prices they decide to charge without being able to match the flavour up to it. Came here for my birthday with friends, bill came to $600 and the portions were tiny. Everything was either lacking in flavour or extremely oily. The keg steak wouldve been better than the strip loin. Tell me how they were sold out of the prime rib, and a cocktail that my friend specifically came back for. Uni toast was regular uni not even japanese uni on some toast with some tomatoes. Lobster spaghetti came with literally 4 pieces of small lobster tossed in too much butter where my throat was coated in oil and parmesan. One of the servers spilled our water on the table. A fly landed on me twice. I dont care about the price if the food was amazing but wow, flabbergasted that it was still packed around 930. Eggplant was close to flavourless with a house made toum that made you crave for Paramount Toum as it wasnt nutty or garlicky enough. I could keep going but I will save myself the effort. Dessert was the best thing but that also is a solid 3 as the tart is so extremely sweet but the cheese helps cut it down a bit, the shell was made quite well Ill give it that.

I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at this restaurant, and Im eager to share the details. We kicked off our meal with the artichoke maitaki truffle emulsion, which was a delightful umami bomb with a light, crispy texture, although the sauce was slightly on the salty side. Next up were the seasonal tomatoes, which were tender, sweet, and perfectly ripe, offering a simple yet exquisite taste. The choawanmushy uni was like the foie gras of the sea, incredibly creamy and rich, though it might have benefited from a crostini for added crunch since its served with a pudding-like consistency. The Sicilian crudo, poured with tomato water and packing a spicy punch, left us speechless with its vibrant flavors. What added to the experience was our knowledgeable waiter, who had an impressive grasp of the menu and guided us through our choices. We were particularly proud to have tried MATTY MATHESONs newest creation, a testament to the restaurants innovation. As for our main course, we opted for the Prime rib palace cut cooked rare, and it was nothing short of incredible. Its a generous portion, perfect for sharing between two. Additionally, the Palace potatoes, with their thousand layers, were not only delicious but also highly Instagram-worthy. One unexpected highlight was the leek rarebit; it was a delightful surprise, creamy and subtly delicious. To complement our meal, we explored their wide selection of cocktails, and the white Manhattan stood out as different and became one of my personal favorites. Overall, this dining experience was a true culinary adventure, filled with exquisite flavors and culinary creativity.

3.5 stars Good: - a gorgeous, modern, creative space. It is very lovely. The bathrooms are almost an art piece; - the service is impeccable. Warm, friendly, and informative, without being overbearing or stuffy; - the drinks were good. Creative and well made; and - the lobster pasta was incredible. Rich and flavourful, with plenty of lobster. Cons: - the price. A corkage fee of $75 (?!) and the lowest priced wine bottle is over $100 (?!). With cocktails, wine, appetizers, mains, and sides, its easily $300 per person (including tax and tip); - the appetizer portions. Some of the options, like the stuffed peppers, are three thimble-sized, one bite pieces; - the meat was good - dont get me wrong. We finished everything and no complaints. It was well-cooked and tasty. But, if youre paying for a Ferrari, and you get a BMW, youre going to be disappointed; and - the Yorkshire pudding was large and impressive, but surprisingly dry and tasteless. Am I glad I tried it? Yes. Will I return? No.

Its difficult to provide a review for this one. The food is excellent - very high quality and expertly prepared. The service is also very good - friendly, and unobtrusive. The problem I have is that the pricing is insane for a menu that isnt that creative or ambitious. This is essentially a very good steakhouse, but charging for a Michelin Star worthy experience. We were a party of two. We had two drinks each, appetizers of Molasses Bread w. mussels, and the lobster spaghetti, and for the main we shared the 20oz prime rib, with a side of potatoes, creamed greens and yorkshire pudding. No coffee, no dessert and with taxes and tip, the bill was just over $500. For that amount, I expect an experience I will remember for years, and I just cant say that about this place. Couple additional notes: - the Yorkshire pudding with bone marrow was the star of the show - for a couple, you will get plenty of food. we couldnt finish it all, and took half home - I gave a lower rating for atmosphere because depending on where you are situated, you may not have a view of the place (I was facing the back wall). It was busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time though!

Ordered prime rib medium rare and got it the way I like it. Well seasoned and cooked right. I did not order any sauce so it can stand by itself. I just wish they serve it in a bit of warm plate as the food tends to get cold easily. Palace potatoes was a great compliment. Bar was alright, just wish they have more islay scotch to choose from. Plenty of parking on the Queen St West side. Definitely a good place for a date night or sit in a bar to clear the head. Place was full tonight but not noisy. If you re in the area, check them out.

The restaurant is very pretty, but it s not worth the cost or the diarrhea. We went there for my birthday a few months ago, and we have let the restaurant know when we made the booking. I got the birthday greetings at the door, then they somehow decided to give us the table right beside the bathroom door. I don t know if it s because of the proximity to the bathroom, but there was a fly circling our table the entire time. The server definitely saw us waving the fly away, but did nothing. A dead tiny insect was stuck to the outside of my cocktail glass. I didn t say anything to not destroy the mood any further. We ordered all seafood, and everything dish was just ok or worth than what I was expecting at this price point. The flavored pearls in a white fish dish were extremely fishy and not edible. The dish we enjoyed the most is the smoked beets, haha. Oh, we both had diarrhea after dinner, how nice. (I also saw food poisoning in another review.) We would not be returning for the unwelcoming service or the bland food. The decor was very nice, but at this price point, there are many restaurants with better food, service, and vibe.
