RASA in Toronto

Wanted to change our reservation of six people to seven, but it would mean that we fall under their large party category which comes with certain rules. Here are the lowlights : Set menu $100 minimum spend pp 20% gratuity $50 pp cancellation policy if changes are made with less than 72 hours. 3 hr seating Too many rules to go out for dinner needless to say we re going somewhere else

We came here for dinner and had a lovely time. The food was delicious (the ceviche and octopus dishes were our favourites). The staff were also very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back!

The food price is reasonable, and the server is very attentive. He also took his time to explain the good menu. A lot of their menus are fusion dishes, which is great as it gives a unique experience. Would visit again.

The food at Rasa is innovative & playful. We tried the Ravioli, Ribs, Calamari, Chickpea Fritters & Salmon - everything was delicious. The staff was lovely & the ambiance was chill yet elevated. Was celebrating a special occasion and had a memorable night. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

I had heard many time about this place and decided to give it a try as its one of the Michelin guided restaurant in TO and the total experience menu which offers 9 course meal was really good and would recommend it to give it a try.

EDITED - Oct 30, 2024 - in the spirit of full transparency, Rasa got back to me almost immediately, and were adamant that my partner and I come back for a meal on them. I didn t expect that at all, at most I expected a discount or something, all I wanted was some acknowledgement. Such a class act, and I m frankly thrilled, the food really is SO good! Unfortunately, I had a negative experience at Rasa. The food was good, as it always is, but the service was very poor. I was sitting at the bar, and the wait staff kept bumping into my shoulders as they flew in and out of the kitchen. This was fine, albeit a bit annoying, but they should just reduce the number of seats at the bar by one to prevent this from happening (I was on the end). The worst part, however, was when the ceiling started leaking and water was streaming into my lap. They immediately moved us over one seat, but then a waitress came by to ask if we d shift back because she had another party being seated. My waiter, who was the bartender and was right in front of us, made no effort to explain to the waitress why I couldn t be moved. We just ended up leaving, and there was no gesture from them to apologize for the ceiling (at this point my lap was wet) - not even an apology on the way out! Really disappointing, I ve come here a lot and will not be back.

Tasting menu was generous and delicious. Fantastic cocktail program as well, super balanced. Went with a group of 6 and the momentum was kept throughout the meal. Highly recommended!

Poor experience. The food is just OK. We had the classic tasting menu - nothing special,lack salt and love. Chef looks completely out of desire to cook. One of them kept looking at the phone. We really dont recommend spending your money here.

Amazing dinner. Went with 3 family members and we all agreed it was the best meal during our Toronto weekend. We loved getting the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Really fun dinner experience!!

5 out of 5 An experience! The kitchen: very fine! An incredibly diverse cuisine, star level, at a fair price. Doesnt give the same impression from the outside as it does on the inside. Ambience: full marks! Very pleasant audience. If its offered, take one of the menus. Thanks to Matthew for the great company this evening. If it takes me from Germany to Toronto again, then it will definitely be here. As already said, the price is very good! The cuisine cannot be described, perhaps with the best from all corners , the chef knows his craft. Great selection of wine, beer and spirits. Although I quoted a high price, we were not economical with the food or drinks. If you go, you should take your time, its too good for a short visit

I found this restaurant on the Michelin Guide, but it fully deserves a star. Everything and everyone is beautiful the food, the staff, and the service are exquisite and i loved every second.

We had the Full Experience tasting menu. All the dishes were great and good portions, too. Food was presented nicely and tasted pretty good. The appetizer/vegetarian items on the menu were better than Id expected. Service was also great. Everyone we interacted with had a nice attitude and took care of anything we needed. Overall, it was a nice experience. I would go back.

This restaurant is definitely a must-try, especially if you re seeking something casual yet packed with flavor. The menu offers a delightful blend of influences, and the spicy ceviche and chickpea salad are standout dishes that shouldn t be missed. While the rest of the menu is decent, what truly sets this place apart is its inventive fusion of Arabic and Chinese spices with French-American cuisine. It s a bold concept, and while they don t always hit the mark, there are a few dishes where they ve managed to reinvent the wheel with success. It s the perfect spot for a lunchtime celebration during work hours, ideal for sharing a flavorful meal with colleagues. I wouldn t choose it for dinner, but for lunch, it s an experience worth trying at least once.

Service is friendly but unsophisticated. Food that supposed to be hot was not even warm when arrived. Food over priced in general

Great athmosphere, we had a good time here! The food was perfectly harmonized, and I loved the crativity of the servings. Servers professional, he made our dinner even more amazing with his wine recommendations. The view was breathtaking.

Incredible food, bursting with flavours

I think my review of RASA might be different if we had the tasting menu available as an option, but unfortunately, in the summer months when the patio is open, there IS NO TASTING MENU OPTION. Instead, you can ask for half orders of many of the appetizers. We opted for this choice and got to try many of the dishes that RASA had to offer. We came to RASA upon our friend s recommendation, and our thoughts are below: Apps - we got half orders of the chopped salad, the spicy ceviche, and the gnudi. Half portions for the salad and ceviche were large and the value was great. We LOVED the salad and the ceviche. Flavors, textures were great and they were very fresh dishes. The truffle gnudi was a disappointment, considering this was a highly recommended dish. The dough was kind of dry and flavorless, and this is coming from someone who loves gnocchi and truffles. Kind of a bland dish. Get the ceviche and chopped salad. Entrees - the octopus was a massive letdown. For $44CAD, I was shocked by how small the dish looked, especially when the HALF orders of the salad and the ceviche looked like whole orders. I had to ask the server and specify if we got a half order of the octopus or if this was indeed the full order. Also, the presentation was different from what we saw online (they switched it up to this chopped chorizo octopus). We were not fans of this dish - the chorizo was heavy and overpowering and just felt like we were eating bbq d sausage. Skip this dish - again, very surprised because the octopus was so highly recommended. Branzino - branzino was delicious. Tender and crispy at the same time. Flavorful. Paired very well with the tomatoes, which were ripe and juicy. A little confused about the little potato chips, because we thought that was not necessary and detracted from what was otherwise an elegant dish. Bone Marrow - good, but for $25CAD, overpriced, especially when the burger is only $21CAD. Sticky Bun - overhyped, sticky, cinnamon bun with lots of walnuts on type and a couple pieces of candied bacon. The bacon was great, but the bun itself was kind of hard (like when you microwave bread and then let it settle a bit). Not as soft as I expected, and I really didn t understand the hype on this one. I think I prefer Cinnabon more. Honestly, the food would have been a good value if we had the $65 tasting menu, but for what we paid, I felt like we had a middle of the pack experience. Service was great and attentive. Patio was very nice in the summer weather. Cocktails did not even have clear ice, even though you paid almost cocktail-bar prices for the drinks.

Had a great birthday meal here on the patio. Friendly staff, amazing steak and delicious drinks. Will definitely come again.

I visited Rasa expecting mild food based on the staff s assurances, but the dishes were far from mild. One of the dishes was overwhelmingly spicy. It was disappointing to not be able to finish the plate. a blonde waitress who initially served us at the beginning of the night specifically assured us the food would be mild, which was clearly misleading. Overall it was a great experience with a little bit of unexpected turn. Would still be back as it is a great spot!

Came here friday evening for dinner and we had great service the entire evening. The restaurant happily started us with mini tasting cheesey bread on the house - a nice touch! We ordered some drinks but the ube cocktail was quite lovely and vibrant in colour! The chickpea fritters are delicious - must order. We also got the popcorn shrimp, a truffle flavoured twist on gnocchi called the truffle gnudi (which was way too filling for us and we didn t particularly like the dish because the pieces of gnudi are just massive and could be made smaller given the powerful flavour which makes it so heavy and filling) and the rasa burger which was delicious. Their menu does change but they do keep main items on it such as the branzino, hangar steak and the rasa burger. I did find some of the food a touch salty. The restaurant concept is made for food to be shareable! Fun concept.

Went for a triple birthday dinner and every bite was fantastic. Sitting on the patio we tried almost every dish on the menu. Salad - great! Chickpea fritters, to die for. The Branzino - perfect bite, perfectly cooked, and the sticky bun. Order that extra one and bring leftovers home. This was my second visit and I ll be back again.

Came here for friends birthday dinner and was absolutely blown away by the service, food and experience. This was an experience, not just getting food. Server was incredible. He was attentive, patient and fun! A friend dropped a napkin and he immediately replaced it. He answered all questions with patience and made sure we had everything we needed and more. He added so much to the overall experience. The food was like art, delicious and combinations I d never think to create but just wow. Everything was delicious. This was the best dining experience I ve ever had!

My new go to. I passed by this place a little while ago and decided to go with a friend for her birthday dinner. The food was immaculate. When you hear ceviche on a menu these days, you expect 4 pieces of thinly sliced fish. The quality of the ingredients were perfect, but the actual portion sizes had us shocked (in the best way possible) for the price point!! I can t wait to start making this spot a regular in my life!!

Positively scrumptious. They only provide their tasting menu during the winter months, perhaps to bring some additional happiness to the dark season, and it capital. Nonetheless in the remaining portions of the year the food is delectable and rich. There are not many items on the menu and this is entirely a reflection of their commitment to quality above all. Practically, all this dishes are sharable and these are my favorite: -Chopped Salad -Ceviche -Bone Marrow - Wagu (on full tasting menu) - Tuna tartare (on full tasting menu)

This was simply one of the best meals Ive had in Toronto. I went here for my anniversary with my partner and from the moment we sat down we were presented with excellent service, drinks and incredible foods. I really cant recommend it enough.

This place is the greatest they were so kind and caring the service was like boom bam and they gave us our food and if there is a restaurant with the best burger in the world this would be were you get it I love this place and I 200 percent recommend it.

Very disappointed with the level of service I was not given. We came in at 5:30 pm for a table of 2 and were denied entry when half the restaurant was basically empty. The hostess just said unfortunately we will not be able to seat you with no reason did not offer any alternatives when to come back. I will definitely not come back here disrespectful hostess.

My friend and I came here on Saturday for dinner. The only reso left was at the bar, but when we arrived, the hostess was able to seat us in the cute little window spot. Our servers were very friendly and attentive the entire time. I ve eaten at a lot of restaurants in Toronto, and Rasa is one of the most memorable meals I ve had. Our server brought out complimentary pao de quejo, which were delicious. We ordered the octopus + chorizo, the truffle gnudi, and the pork al pastor. Everything was a 10/10 the flavours were incredible, the texture was spot on; we were really impressed. The cocktail we ordered the milk punch was also perfect a combination of sweet and bitter, with a complexity that left us wanting another one (and we did in fact order a second). We will absolutely be back!

Once again, RASA reaffirms why its the greatest restaurant in Toronto hands down bar none. Their ceviche is absolutely perfection. We had the salad, the ceviche, the burger, the shrimp everything all the way to the final dessert was an incredible experience. One of the best places to eat in Toronto! Food is amazing and sharing style, quality is amazing and all meals are well balanced and delicious Staff are wonderful and the bartenders are great, drinks are the best! Price is very good for what you get, I keep going back!

Rasa made our anniversary really special! The food, service and ambience are amazing! Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto. Will return for sure! The octopus was really nice and tender. The rasa burger is our favourite item on the menu. And boy, are their cocktails good!! All the foods were a hit from start to finish. The staff at Rasa also are so pleasant and lovely. One of the best customer service weve experienced. Really have nothing but great words to say about this place!

Had our anniversary dinner here and the staff was amazing. Complimentary Prosecco and a small appetizer. Food was phenomenal as well. Loved the burger and the octopus. All very good. Would recommend to come here! Our server Ken deserves a shoutout. Hilarious guy, easy going, attentive.

We ve returned to Rasa at least 5 times, mostly due to our love for their ceviche, which is a fun spin on the typical fish. The menu is always evolving, and the selection of cocktails are great - the Banana Bread Old Fashioned is my favourite. The service is always kind and attentive, without being obsessive, and we ve never regretted our decision to return to Rasa again and again. The only dish that never landed for us was the Rasa Burger, which came highly recommended, but was average at best. That said, there are so many other wonderful dishes that shine. Best to book a reservation, as it can often get busy for dinner.

We had a good time with friends here. We like the drink and vibe. But the food was ok to us. Very heavy on the sauce, portions are not big. They told us there were two portions of the burger, but really it was one burger cut in half. We did not feel we had enough food for the price we paid, so we went to Chinatown after for dim sum.

This is a fantastic restaurant. We were all pleased with every dish we got - particularly the burger, gnudi, and ravioli. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The patio has a great ambiance.

Beautiful, playful food! My friend and I had the tasting menu - the last couple courses were a struggle to finish; so much food! Our server, Ken, was lovely. He was warm and never seemed rushed even though the restaurant was packed. A couple things to note: - they were fully booked, on a Monday night, so making a reservation is a must - it got quite loud, which is more fun than quietly stuffy, but was overwhelming

To sum it up: community. By far, out of the hundreds of restaurants I ve tried, Rasa is by far my favorite dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the feeling of community embraces you. The space is warm and relaxing with inviting seating that keeps you close to your fellow patrons while leaving you with plenty of space to easily enjoy your group s night. From there, the staff explain the menu: a shared experience among your party, deepening the message of community. Your plate is stamped with the words Thank You in various languages to showcase their gratitude for joining them for a night filled with global influences. And that s the best part: each and every dish lives up to this, embodying different ingredients and techniques from across the world all in one plate. It s as if the chef is saying this is what happens when the world comes together, providing you with some of the best dishes you ll ever find. Not to mention, the menu is constantly changing and evolving with each season. The food is present beautifully, extremely thoughtful, and absolutely delicious. It out competes most michelin starred restaurants I ve tried, yet rids itself of any poshness to maintain their feeling of community. Rasa s staff, venue, and food all bring in the theme of community, and each dish truly showcases the beauties that can come from a culturally diverse plate. To say the least, Rasa will forever have a place in my heart, and their meals there will not only change the way you view food itself, but the way you enjoy it.

We ordered their classic tasting menu ($65 pp, 7 courses including dessert of choice). Despite some of the Google reviews that said otherwise, we thought the portion sizes were great and felt stuffed by the end. I wasn t able to eat the spicy ceviche due to the raw fish, and they were very accommodating with substitutions (was offered squash cakes instead). Our server was attentive and very friendly, and offered a small additional dessert at the end, along with a candle, as we were celebrating a birthday. We thought the dishes were all a bit too salty, but that may be personal preference. Their drinks, including their mocktails, were excellent! Dietary restrictions: They offer various substitutions for dietary restrictions.

Amazing service and food!!!! Must visit place! Dishes are small in portion and a bit pricy but it s a great place to hang out for occasions and dates. The dish with gochujang mayo was amazing we all screamed Im so curious with the jangahchi menu. I will try this one on my next visit! Their drinks were all super delishy too

I was recommended Rasa by a coworker, so I decided to give it a try. The food was amazing!! I sat at the bar since and the bartender was attentive and conversational. I ordered a mock tail and the lamb dumplings. I was surprised by a little amuse bouche cheese bread that was awesome!! Then I finished off with the chocolate crunch for dessert. All the good was to die for!! Highly highly recommend this place! Parking: I had to park three block away in the neighborhood but I would do it again

From the start, had to wait for 15 min to be seated. Neither tasting menu seemed good so my date decided the cheaper option. Because the more expensive one had tuna tartar ew. If it was possible to get all the course in reverse order I would get it. Because you just gonna fill up on some of the worst tasting food I ve ever paid for. First of all, Portuguese cheese bread was rubbery. Second, Chopped salad like it came out of the bag from Lablaws. Third course, the fish was excellent but the sauce was terrible. At this point we wer waiting for the final dish, however we had to suffer through three more dishes first, two of which had absolutely zero flavour (honestly did not know what it was and did not want to ask). When we finally got to chorizo and octopus, the chorizo was burnt black, Im not sure how they even plated it ( weird). The octopus just tasted too fishy. Thankfully we had washed away the bad taste with a few shots and were ready to indulge in the burger which was actually quite good. However, we were already full from previous courses. That s why I recommend tasting the menus in reverse order. We did not want to complain, thank you to the staff that acknowledged we did not eat the food and asked if they could give us something on the house. But yea, find another date date spot

An excellent date spot, with top notch service. We had their tuna tartare (8.5/10), spicy ceviche (9/10), truffle gnudi (8/10) and the Branzino (7.5/10 - this was amazing but maybe the tomato side was overpowering). I d say the spicy ceviche and tuna tartare cannot be missed and I d definitely back go just for that. We were seated at the front area of the restaurant, which was really cute (but a tad chilly). We also got complimentary cheese puff starters (sorry forgot the specific name!) which were delicious! There is plenty of street parking and I d definitely recommend!

We just came home from RASA. We had a wonderful experience. The food was stunning, the service was great. We sat at the bar and Kira was just so lovely and mixes the best cocktails. Thank you for this amazing experience we had tonight.

Dropped in on a whim for a few drinks, as it was one of the only restaurants open on that stretch of Harbord on a Sunday. So glad we did. Sat at the bar where Ken took great care of us. Received complementary amuse bouche, and, upon our departure, chocolates! We had a lovely time. Will be going back for a full meal next time.

We got the chopped salad, squash cakes, lamb dumplings, and spicy ceviche. The food was pretty good but the service really stood out. We had a vegan friend and our server was very accommodating and guided us through the menu. I forget her name but she kind of looked like Reese Witherspoon. They also gave us complimentary shots which was really nice! The Asian dude also gave our birthday girl a gift card for next time. Super nice people!

This is in my top 3 restaurants in Toronto, primarily because of the fusion of different cuisines, creating some unique dishes. I recommend the seasonal tasting menu as it always gets you something different. I also always order the RASA burger when it isnt on the tasting menu. So juicy, so fresh, so nice. If you like tasting menus, this one is excellent value for what you get. I have been here four times now, and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service.

Cozy atmosphere, warm service, there are no words to describe the tasting menu. Absolutely fantastic, delicious and well served. I enjoyed spending my birthday dinner at this place. We do not usually get full easily but these portions were more than right for us. Every dish has their unique taste. Fascinating experience. We will come back for sure

We opted in for the full experience menu. We were very shocked by how small the portions were. The fish was very salty, the wagyu meat smelles very bad and it was chewy. Also the service was slow we asked for napkins and didn t get them until we asked again 15 minutes later. They were kind enough to offer us two burgers free of charge to change our experience but the burgers were also so salty I couldn t finish half of it myself. Such a beautiful place so sad our experience didn t really make us happy and the bill came up to $550, I think I could have dined at much better places and would have gone home full and happy. Im sorry but I don t think I will come back to Rasa. All the best, Simon

Limited and very expensive menu items, mostly ranging from $30-49., and very annoying when they claim it is a tapas menu and is to be shared, and recommended to order 5-8 items for the 5 of us. The seabass was most disappointing at $49. for only 2 square piece. I understand theres high end food but this was ridiculous!! it was barely 3 bites worth! The side that it came with was lovely but definitely not worth the incredulous price tag!!

I went there with my partner for our anniversary last Wednesday and it was great! Second time there! Food is not my personal cup of tea, but we tried the dumplings with lamb and the rasa hamburger, the dumplings have a strong flavour but they re pretty nice, the hamburger was absolutely delicious! The service tho, was absolutely great! Our server Laura was one of the nicest servers I have had in my whole life, she even asked my allergies which is a lot of plus points (I have already deal with restaurants not asking my allergies and neither specified them on their menus and ), she was so warm and even gave me a deli to take my flowers to a bar! The place is a bit small but very vintage and cozy

My recent visit to Rasa was incredible. The burger was a flavorful masterpiece. Our server, Alex, provided impeccable hospitality, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring our experience was memorable. They were actually completely booked when we arrived but the waitstaff moved some stuff around to ensure we were able to dine-in. Highly recommended for a delightful culinary experience!

A must visit if youre in Toronto. The 6 course tasting menu for 65 was beyond reasonable. The Rasa burger is easily the best Ive had in my entire life. The chopped salad is a perfect start to the meal (after the amuse bouche). Loved the texture of the chickpea fritter as well. Desser was next level, so impressed with the pastry. Service was incredible, our waitress answered all of our questions and guided us through different options for ordering.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The sharable style is really fun with a group of people. All the dishes tasted amazing! Service was really great and we had good conversation with the server. Recommend going here with even numbered groups based on the sharable plate style.

It s not a very big space so they won t be able to accommodate large groups. Our server Ken, was so nice and friendly! He was very attentive and made sure my friend had a nice birthday. The tasting menu had a lot of variety and it was good overall. I would say it is a bit pricey but the quality of the food and the uniqueness definitely stood out. One thing I really appreciated was the fact that us and a few other groups were clearly having a great time and we were there past closing and the staff didn t even kick us out. Not even in a nice way to say hey we are closing soon . Definitely would come back!

Come here with all my visitors to Toronto. Such a fun dining experience and you can t go wrong with any dish! Would love to try one of the tasting menus on my next visit

Amazing place! We did the tasting menu and it was totally worth it. We had the chopped salad, chickpea fritters with wasabi peas, the burger, the truffle pasta, the ceviche and the sticky bun for dessert. The drinks were great too! I wasnt sure what to make of this place with the very low key entrance. But it surpassed my expectations. All for of us got the classic tasting menu. We got a few more than the six dishes because of substitutions. My son is gluten intolerant. The dishes came at a good pace and though they initially looked on the small side, it was plentiful overall. Really nice ambiance too. Id go back when I want to impress someone .

Incredible experience! I have celiac disease and normally struggle when going out for dinner, but I had no issues dining here. There were only a few items on the menu that they couldn t make gluten-free for me. Every single dish we had was amazing. We really loved how the plates are made to share. We split about four dishes between two people and were very full by the end. My partner and I both agreed it s probably the best meal we ve had out in Toronto. The service was incredible. I would recommend Rasa to anyone! Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease, and I was able to eat most of the items on the menu. Im very sensitive to cross-contamination and had no flares or issues after our meal.

We waited quite a bit to get seated, but it was a busy Friday evening and we were able to have a table after another party cancelled their reservation! The vibes were interesting, it was dimly lit and there was a bar table, but overall not a very big space. The food is definitely pricey but very unique! It is a fusion of so many cuisines, tapas style. - Complimentary gruyere Brazilian cheese with creme fraiche 9/10: Savoury, a bit oily but paired well with the sweetness of the cream! - Chopped salad 9.5/10: So fresh, well-balanced and tangy with roasted chickpeas, grapes, jalapeno feta, and lots of vegetables. - Spicy ceviche 8/10: The spicy peanut sauce was delicious it would make such a good noodle sauce. However, we agreed it didn t go very well with the fish, which was cut too large and needed more acidity. - Squash cakes 9/10: Really enjoyed this one! Fried well and when you combine it with the maple dressing, sweet creme, and pickled kohlrabi it was amazing. It is a bit difficult to eat since the kohlrabi kept falling off. - Rasa burger 8/10: The beef cheek patty was so juicy and nicely charred! Could use more pickles as some bites were a bit bland. - Truffle gnudi 7.5/10: The gnudi (gnocci fingers) were too large and bland, but the pesto sauce with mushrooms made up for it. Overall we had high expectations given the reviews and price, and I appreciated the novelty and creativity with the dishes. They were all presented beautifully but many of the dishes fell a bit short. It may not be on my list to immediately go again but still worth a visit!

I dont generally leave reviews, but after my experience at Rasa tonight, I felt compelled. Amazing service compliments of Kendall, fantastic food, non pretentious environment, and my new favourite person Molly gets two enthusiastic thumbs up (I win bish). Stop scrolling for new restos and just go. The fact that youre still reading this and havent booked a reservation yet, genuinely makes me question your life choices.

Went there on a Sat night. Made reservation in advance 2 days. Warmly greeted and promptly seated. Service from Glen was outstanding! Insightful, engaging, friendly and just the right amount of attentive! Food was delish. Small sharing plates. We only had a small sample as we had been to another resto beforehand. A lovely amuse bouche of Pao de queijo. Ceviche like we have never had before! Not a tarte experience but creamy and nutty! Lamb dumplings tarte, spice, savory, sweet creamy, crunchy and plush all in one bite if that is possible. Inside the restaurant is cozy and warm. Outside patio is very large! Will definitely be back!

Rasa, located on the corner of Harbord and Spadina, offers a nice ambience with a cozy patio and picture-worthy scenes. However, the tapas-style sharing menu might not be worth the inflated prices, as the portion sizes are small and the flavors are mediocre. The salad with roasted chickpeas was good but comparable to what you can find at a local Freshi. The ceviche was too saucy and lacked balance, while the pork cheek had a significant amount of fat despite assurances from the server. The pea pastas broth overpowered the dish, and the pasta itself was overcooked. On the positive side, service was up to par, the desserts were delicious, but again, nothing unique or extraordinary. Overall, Rasa seems like the cohort of restaurants more focused on being Instagram-worthy than delivering exceptional flavors and a memorable menu, making it less appealing for return customers.

Took friend for dinner at Rasa, with small interior dining room, very nice patio seating. We enjoyed chopped vegetable salad with chickpeas, kale and various veggies; Tuna tartare with rice crisps (I am not a raw tuna person but this was delicious!), mushroom gnudi; red snapper with babaganush. Delicious food for sharing, great service. For a Tuesday, seating was full. Great neighbourhood restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and will be back!

An incredible dinner! Came here for my birthday and was so excited to try it out. It exceeded my expectations greatly! The food was delicious - the flavour combinations were incredible! Great vegetarian options, I wish we got more of them. The service was wonderful, and even the mocktails were so good. For the amount of food we got, it was satisfying without being exorbitantly priced. The decor is very cute and warm. Highlights: chickpea fritters and the key lime pie ice cream bar.

Key lime ice cream sandwich is a must try

Lovely food with beautiful presentation! Their menu is designed to be shared so some of the dishes they provided an option to do half of the amount with half of the price. I went here by myself and found their portion very good even for single eater. The salad is amazing and yummy for this hot weather. Pork dish is yummy as well. Love it!

Very good food, fair service, too noisy.

Terrible, will never come again and don t suggest anyone does either. Food was burn to a crisp, all I was tasting was the bitter burnt meat. Other dishes weren t better, server didn t care at all, and portions to price is just crazy. The short ribs which are around 50 dollars are supposedly good for a whole family, but when it arrived it barely was a third of the plate. Overall, probably the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at.

I went here in mid September of 2023 We got the classic tasting menu. It is great for an anniversary dinner or an event. Service: 9/10 Friendly and attentive service. The team is coordinated but at some point, I sensed a bit of unfamiliarity with the dish ingredients. I had dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. Food: 8/10. You are served 3 main courses and a dessert for 65CAD per person. 3 main courses consist of 2 dishes each. I liked the ceviche and the octopus but not a fan of the burger or the mushroom/ dumpling dish. The burger tasted well but it didnt fit the theme of the menu. The portions were great. I would swap the burger for a dish where the chef can demonstrate his creativity as it was a closing dish, though everything was housemade so that was impressive. Price: 9/10 Definitely more affordable than what I saw at other places considering the tasting menu. Overall, great experience. I went to Michelin star restaurants previously and I sensed some creativity here that I felt in other restaurants. I would come back again to try the full experience tasting menu for 75pp.

The Good: - The food was unique as it s essentially a fusion of different cuisines around the world. - Most combinations I thought were interesting; only 1 item I thought was just meh. Wed ordered chopped salad, spice ceviche, chick pea fritters, red snapper, truffle gnudi and heirloom tomatoes. Our favorites were heirloom tomatoes and least favorite was truffle gnudi. The sticky bun is a must for dessert. Vegetarian options: They have close to 5 vegetarian options out of a total of 15 dishes on the menu. Bar Rasa is one of our go-to restaurants for a nice meal out. Last night, my wife and I went to celebrate her birthday, took our usual spot at the bar, and enjoyed several shared dishes: the chopped salad, the burger, the truffle gnudi, the red snapper, and the sticky bun. All five dishes were incredible and the experience was made better by the kind and friendly staff, who were also very generous on this special occasion. Highly recommended!

Delicious Delicious Delicious!! Our party of 3 shared 5 incredible dishes plus a couple of divine desserts. Chopped salad was so good I am still thinking about it. Chickpea fritters were incredible. Short ribs were delicious. Best of all for me, it was very easy to accommodate my gluten-free needs. And the cocktails! The gin/apricot cocktail was perfect. The space is very welcoming and warm and the staff are thoughtful and friendly. Couldn t ask for more! Dietary restrictions: Accommodated gluten-free extremely well. Servers and kitchen were very knowledgeable about celiac restrictions.

Attending as a party of four for a birthday, we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at RASA. From our friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable server, Glenn, to the perfectly paced food delivery, to the absolutely stunningly delicious food, our evening at RASA was a top-three lifetime dining experience for our whole party. Ive never been more impressed by a salad as I was by the Chopped Salad. It was well balanced with several flavours, and delivered a fantastic crunch. The figs in the Beet Medaglione were also stunning. The Red Snapper almost melted in your mouth, and was complemented expertly by the babaganoush. We also had no idea that lamb could taste that good. The vindaloo was an excellent choice for it; and then there was the beef cheek burger. Tender and just oozing with flavour, we savoured every bite! Because of the pace of the dishes coming out, we still had room for dessert! The Sticky Bun was our favourite, but that doesnt take away from the Key Lime Ice Cream Sandwich and the tasty coconut macaroon addition. Its sometimes hard to get the sweetness right, but RASA does just that with its desserts! Being a craft beer nerd, I also enjoyed RASAs beer selection. While the beer wasnt on tap (can), the IPA from Sonnen Hill was full-bodied, earthy, and flavourful. I ordered two, and I rarely order a second of the same beer. The Lager from Godspeed is also worth an order. A classic European style done by an expert brewer. Many thanks to Glenn, the Chef, and the staff at RASA for making it an unforgettable evening out!

Service felt racist and classist. Please do not eat here as a person of colour. We were completely ignored while those (all white, dressed in business clothes) around us were given better and faster service. We waited 40 minutes for just 1 dish which they told us they forgot about. In the end our server wouldn t even acknowledge us.

My friend and I came here for dinner and we were just blown away with the food. I ve been waiting to try Rasa for a while now and I m happy we finally got a chance to do so. The cocktail menu had a lot of unique options, why caught my eye was the home for lunch drink. Let me tell you, it s probably my favourite cocktail in the city. I would definitely go back just to have that drink again. The menu is sectioned out by categories of vegetarian, fish and meat. They do offer two different types of tasting menus, but we just decided to pick what we wanted. It was recommend to do I think 4-5 plates as they dishes are for sharing. So under the vegetarian options, we ordered the squash cakes and the beet medaglione. Under the fish options, we ordered the tuna tartare. Under the meat options, we ordered the lamb dumplings and rasa burger. They also brought a complimentary dish in the beginning, forgot what it was, but they were small round dough balls that were amazing. So based on what we got, I would rate them in the following ordered: 1. Squash cakes 2. Tuna tartare 3. Beet medaglione 4. Rasa burger 5. Lamb dumplings I would most definitely order those squash cakes over and over again. The texture and flavour was outstanding. I m definitely returning to try different items, but those are now a staple for me. With the lamb dumplings, for some reason I was hoping they were going to be steamed. They were still good, but I would definitely try other meat options. As for service, everyone was great. Attentive, but not over bearing. Very happy with my experience here and I ll definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Variety of vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: No kids menu and I did not see any high chairs or children while dining here. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.

This restaurant doesnt follow the AODA Accessibility for Ontarins with Disabilities Act law. I went in as a person with a invisible disability asking for their Accessibility customer service policy and they never got back to me at all. Accessibility is a right not an option or after thought and not every disability requires a cane walker or wheelchair. It is 2023 this business needs to get with the picture and be in AODA Accessibility for Ontarins with Disabilities Act compliance. The review where someone says they were classiest and racist. I dont know about that but as a disabled person trying to get information about how they deal with different types of disability I can attest that they sure show abilism at it finest.

Disappointed with my experience at RASA. The service was rushed; our tasting menu felt hurried, with new dishes served before we finished the previous ones. We were given the bill while still eating dessert. The food quality was poor and I felt unwell afterwards. This experience ruined my friends birthday celebration. Wont be returning.

We had our holiday party here and it was by far the best one we ve ever had. Incredible service, delicious food, and wonderful wine list. My only issue is there was SO MUCH FOOD! But I was happy ti take the leftovers home I highly recommend Food

Food was tasty better than average but nothing amazing, had the full experience tasting menu for 4 guys. The price was reasonable but the reason was that the portions were very tiny almost half the course were one bite dishes (for example one course would be one single piece of ok tasting ravioli per person lol) wouldnt have minded paying more for larger portions to share among 4 guys.I understand it is a tasting menu, but I am a pretty light eater compared to most people and even I left pretty hungry. We each might have had maybe 8-10 very small actual bites of food.... while paying 75$... each.... My friends definitely made fun of me for choosing this place and I felt bad after.... the whole tasting experience just felt cheap and we felt ripped off.....You would definitely be better off just ordering separate items and sharing, price and portion wise. Service was excellent. I would ignore the racist and classist comments on the reviews as I was a minority that came in a black shirt and jeans and was treated very well by staff. Cocktails were quite nice as well.
