Excellent Experience. The food was amazing, the athmosfphere and the service was really good. This is high dining at is best. We were a party of 6 and all the dishes were excellent. Steak, Seabass, salads, soup and creme brulee. Will definitely will be going back.

We have been here several times. Delightful. Excellent, friendly service, calm music. The soups were outstanding. We also had 3 different fish dishes. All were wonderful. Recommended!

Excellent place! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and cooked to perfection and every plate was hot. Kudos to the chef for the execution and timing. I m recommending it to all my local friends and family. And we ll definitely come back the next time we re in town.

My wife and I were introduced to this restaurant eight years ago by her uncle. The food and service are consistently first rate and Fernando and his family/team continue to provide a wonderful dining experience! Their selection of Portuguese wines is excellent as is their delicious and diverse menu. A trip to Rush Hour is definitely worth the trip!!

Updated 6 years later: Had a fabulous meal; food was great and service was fabulous. Will go again for sure. Very good service and the presentation was lovely, but the calamari was chewy and the trout was tasteless. The desserts were delicious, but not sure they were made there. Dont think well be back.

Our family has been dining here for years. This is a local go-to for all our intimate celebrations; birthdays, mothers&fathers day, valentines day.. We recently booked the restaurant, a quaint and charming place, to celebrate our nieces baptism. The owners helped with the set up, they timed the meals perfectly, they were attentive with drinks and with ensuring our apps were more than enough. This was by far the best experience we had ever had--but that certainly should not take away from all our previous visits. Fernando, the owner, is the friendliest most accommodating man and its no wonder he and his family are running this successful business. He is always willing to adjust the menu to suit my fathers very particular likes. The fish dishes are always fresh and plentiful. My mothers go to dish is the Picanha, a beautiful steak. And the traditional Portuguese soup, Caldo Verde, is a must for us as starters. We are so grateful for this business and for the care and attention they have for their guests. We look forward to many more years of their service.

I grew up in this area my whole life and have always passed by this place but never went in. I was able to try it out when patios were open and oh man it was so good. Service was very friendly too. Hope the patios open up again so I can go back here

A great family run restaurant that has great tasting food, great portions and great prices! I highly recommend everyone to try this place out, it is a must! We will be coming back here for sure!

Great food and service

Had dinner last night at Rush Hour. We went early and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Every part of our meal was perfect. We shared a ceaser salad, one of the best in Toronto. Lobster pasta shared was next, delicious. Finished with a whole sea bass, yes, shared. The kitchen split all dishes for us. The wine was great. Best of all was the staff. Thanks for a great night during tough times. Much appreciated.

Great food, the same menu as pre-covid, same attentive service. All of this with tables socially spaced, servers in masks and everything well cleaned and disinfected. This is still one of our favorite restaurants

I just had absolutely the best Chilean sea bass I have ever had in my life. It was grilled to perfection on the outside and the inside was moist and sweet and the flakes just fell off. Presentation was beautiful. The wine accompanying it was a recommendation that complemented the meal perfectly. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was intimate but light-filled. I highly recommend this.

Rush Hour is a comfortable, unpretentious restaurant with great food and service. The owner clearly cares deeply about every customers experience whether you are new, as we were, or a regular. Food is delicious and well prepared, and the menu has clever and inventive offerings. The chorizo and peach appetizer for example, is delicious. The Caesar salad is a star, and the seafood offerings are all fresh and tasty. Wine list has a solid French and local offerings and a number of unique and fun Portuguese wines. The service is very good - attentive thoughtful and friendly.

Never been disappointed at this restaurant. The service is impeccable. Other restaurants should take note! I believe the owner s name is Fernando. He takes pride in providing the best service. You can truly see this is his passion. He also does private parties. Great space to entertain an event or just have an great meal. 5/5!

Little gem of the town. Im planning to try all their food eventually. I had the seafood linguine with some appetizers. Tried little bit of meat (i.e. steaks) from everybody I went with. Theyre all delicious. Very friendly staff.

Went for a birthday dinner and was very pleasantly surprised about this place. Walked down Dufferin a few times but must of missed it/ probably was closed earlier in the day. Ate inside but the patio looked great tucked on a quite side street. The menu had a great selection of food and we were offered 3+ specials off menu. The server and owner we very nice and accommodating to my allergies and gave us warning of what I couldnt eat and what was used in the kitchen. They were also happy to switch around some side veggies to fit everyones tastebuds perfectly. All the meat dishes were cooked/seasoned perfectly and a great size portion for the prices. Happy to have found and tried this spot, will be back again. PS: You can bring your own wine, with a very reasonable corkage fee

Last night I visited Rush Hour for a family dinner and was extremely impressed with the atmosphere and delicious food. To say that the customer service was superb would be an understatement. Everyone had a personality and made you feel at home, which goes a long way. The great taste, matched with excellent presentation and a very reasonable price, made for a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Rush Hour to anyone in the area looking to immerse themselves in tasty Portuguese cuisine and culture. Thank you for a great dinner.

I am forever glad to live in a city where a place like Rush Hour can exist. Its a stalwart of the Portugese community, a proud heir to the traditions of food, service, and hospitality in the city of neighbourhoods. The menu is concise, caring, and faithful to the roots of the Portugese gastronomy. The service is impeccable and warm. Until recently, during the tenure of artisinal $16 cocktails, Rush Hour had a cocktail on their menu called U sexy thang. That should tell you all you need to know.

Been going here for years....tough to say about other restaurants in the city. Nothing compares to the family-oriented service, the warm atmosphere, everything on the menu is divine, the amazing patio to spend your sunny summer afternoons on. This place has it all.

Awesome place! We went there for my boyfriends birthday with some friends. Got great food and great service. The food was tasty, healthy and well presented. I am very sensitive towards food and undrestand the difference between good and bad food right away. The food was made of fresh and high quality ingredients and very well cooked. Service was amazing . They even cut my boyfriends birthday cake for us in such a nice and presentable way. I was impressed with the fact that owner himself came and checked on us to see if we are happy with the service. Prices were very reasonable compared to the quality of food. Absolutelt recommended. Definitely will come back for other occasions.

Absolutely amazing cuisine! The ambiance of this restaurant is PERFECT for a date. It is quiet, relaxing with extremely attentive staff (but not overwhelmingly so). We tried the calamari, the shrimp, the spicy chorizo, and the mussels as appetizers and they were all so freaking delicious! Then, we all got a variety of dishes but what I can tell you is they cook their red meat to perfection and offer risotto as a side!! It was so good. A must-go!!

We had not been to Rush Hour for several years, although we used to go regularly when visiting Toronto. On our recent visit, we were very pleased to find the same excellent service and fine food. We were warmly greeted by the owner and served by a very attentive waiter. Cod was a special that day and was very much enjoyed by 3 of our group - perfectly prepared with tasty vegetables as accompaniment. I had the signature risotto which was as good as it always has been. We ordered a Caesar salad to share and it came artistically split on 2 plates. We drank the house Pinot Gris which was very acceptable. There was one large party but the noise level was still ok - we could converse! All in all, a very pleasant evening and we will return.

The service you receive is outstanding at Rush Hour - they treat you as if youre family. The atmosphere is intimate and the food is always delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone. My favourite dish is the seared ahi tuna - always cooked perfectly.

Rush Hour is a hidden gem! Consistently good service, nice ambience and the perfect spot to have a glass of wine and enjoy a conversation. I ve tried different dishes - picanha, lobster ravioli and chicken Marsala, and always had a great experience. The bonus is the delicious homemade hummus with fresh bread and pita chips, so good!

Amazing food and great service. Had the steak and the rose cream lobster ravioli. The ravioli was made fresh with great testing sauce - great dish. The steak was juicy and well cooked with good tasting Yukon fries and salad. Impressive flavours for the price. Highly recommend it.

Excellent Service and Amazing Food and Great Atmosphere!!!

Our 6-person reservation at Rush Hour was for tonight at 6:30pm. By 7:30pm, the dining room and patio were well filled. This is a popular place to eat, and with good reasons. The food is excellent. The portions are respectable. Dining room is well-kept, with space between tables. And the service is wonderful. I m not sure if it was the owner or the maitre d , but a gentleman came over several times to ensure everything was to our liking. Water glasses were kept filled, and delivery of food and drinks was timely and efficient. Our appetizers were Caesar salad and fish soup. Main courses consisted of one chicken dinner, one steak, two lobster risottos, a Chilean sea bass, and a seafood penne. I was placed in the unfortunate position of getting my dish, but having to see and covet everyone else s food as it was presented. All those dishes were worth ordering, as per the people who ate them. Five of six guests elected to get doggy bags, so no complaints about portion size. This evening, they did not have Portuguese custard tarts, and that was a small disappointment. Their passion fruit mousse did make up for it. This is a solid restaurant experience, and is well worth the visit.

Amazing place! Celebrated a family event here, the owner went out of his way to ensure that our day was just perfect! The size of the restaurant was just enough for an intimate family event like ours, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Brought 24 people to Rush Hour for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration which pretty much filled the place up. I would give the place 4.8 out of 5 stars, mainly because I never give 5 stars. Food was great and the Grilled calamari was to die for, best I ever had. Service was top notch and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

Ive been to Rush Hour many times, and each time the service and food has been amazing. The portions are ideal and the price point is very reasonable for the quality of food. The owner is very friendly and very attentive to his guests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and as a bonus they have a great patio. They certainly put portuguese food on the map. Overall its always a great experience.

Brilliant experience. Overall experience was great. Everyone had a well balanced, both in presentation and taste, starter and main course. We asked for suggestions for a dry white wine. The recommended wine wasnt the most expensive, though it was easily the most flavourful and vibrant, slowly leaving your mouth dry and wanting more. It was a brilliant choice to go with the mains we had all chosen. Well be back, repeatedly.

A group of friends and I went here for NYE, and everything was absolutely FANTASTIC! The restaurant is extremely cute, and the service was phenomenal - for a group of 16, everything was flawless from the appetizers down to the main course. Highly recommend trying this place - youll love it! :)

Great service. They seem to really care about you having a great time. The patio is great. My experience with the food has not been great. This has been a shame since I live extremely close and would like to be able to show up casually for a good time, but this has caused me to think twice numerous times. On the other hand, I know other people enjoyed their food. If you are looking for a Portuguese menu with fine dining, this is a good place to go.
