Slammie Sammies in Toronto

Some of the most flavorful sandwiches in the city. HUGE portions! I had the sweet beef and was able to bring home half for dinner. The staff were so lovely.

Awesome sandwiches!! I had the shrimp Po boy and my husband had the Bifana sandwich and wowww were they ever delicious. The po boy is unique and jam packed with amazing ingredients and flavour. The Bifana was juicy and flavourful! We will be back!! Highly recommend!

They have insanely great sandwiches. We had Tzatziki chicken and a grilled steak sandwich. Both were amazing… so, so, so good that I will definitely go back again. The pickup box was neat and organized. I wanted to leave a review, so I was taking pics, but once I had a bite… I totally forgot to take more pictures and just dug in all at once. 뱅뱅만 가지말고 여기가서 샌드위치 한입만 먹어보십셔 다들... ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 미친맛

Highly recommend this place. I found it on Google, and when I arrived I noticed it was in the back of Opera Bob's (bar). Had no issue ordering just a sandwich (though it would've gone great with a beer). I had the vegan eggplant sandwich and chips-absolutely delicious. The owners were very kind as well. 10/10 experience.

I was very excited about Slammie Sammies after seeing their menu and ordered pickup from them for dinner yesterday. I think this establishment has a lot of potential, just needs to smooth out some operational/logistical issues. My partner and I ordered two sandwiches for takeout so that we could eat them on the patio before going to see a show. We placed the order online and we’re given a wait time of 20-25mins. Not a problem, as we still had to walk over. By the time we arrive to pick up our meal, at least 30mins has passed. However, the server who greets us immediately runs into the kitchen and then comes back apologizing that the online orders take a while to go through so it would be a bit of a wait, another 5mins, which was not a problem for us. We sat down inside to wait and luckily the Olympics were on because it was about 20mins before we got our order of two sandwiches. And when we opened the bag I realized that the side of peppers I ordered was missing. I find the chef and he tells me he will be right back with them, so I stand and wait. After 5mins it is evident that this will take a while. I go sit back down to eat and we were almost done our halves of the first sandwich before we get the peppers, which was just a small container of cold (marinated?) cut up chilli peppers. Regarding the food, the sweet beef sandwich was incredible. The beef was tender and crispy, and the pickled carrots and other filling ingredients worked so well together. Altogether delicious. The tzatziki chicken however was quite disappointing. While the sauce and flavours were good, the grilled chicken was awful. It was ok to bite off but the texture was like tree branch - as I’m chewing, the bread, vegetables, everything went down and I was left a mass of chicken fibres in my mouth which somehow could separate but could not be chewed through. This chicken was either way over cooked or cooked directly from frozen? After the long wait for the order after arriving at the bar for pickup, we were expecting a lot better. We ended up tossing out most of the chicken sandwich because we just couldn’t chew through it. Again, I feel there is a lot of potential here based off of the exciting menu and the well made beef sandwich. However, they have some work to do to improve timing and consistency. This was actually our second attempt to get sandwiches from them - we walked over for dine-in one day in late July and were told by the bartender when we got there that the chef was not in all week. It would have been nice to have this as an update somewhere online. Hoping that that things work out because I’d still like to go back someday to try more of the menu!

Best sandwiches in Toronto we've eaten! We ordered the chicken tzatziki and steak sandwich - definitely worth the price. The portions are really big but way too good to share with someone ;) if you don't like some ingredients either, there is an option to customize it for you, and the lady and the chief were also super sweet and nice. We will definitely be back and I hope more people will hear about this place ❤️

3rd time here and got 2 more sandwiches to try...they got hands down the best sandwiches in toronto. So far each sandwich have been unique, tasty and had strong flavors. I cant really decide which one is my fav cuz theyre all so g0d dang good. Today, i remembered to take photos. I ordered the shrimp po boi and the one stacked w portuguese marinaded pork. Both super delicious. Last week, i had the vietnamese and the chicken parm. Gonna try to veggie and i think one other menu item i havent tried yet. So far none of the items were misses. These bad bois are good!!!!! Update: I've become a regular 🙂 they got smash burgers now and damn these are great too
