The manager/owner wants to be out of his business. Otherwise the other servers were very nice.

I don t usually leave bad reviews but we had a particularly negative time here. We came at 7pm on a Friday. It got quite busy while we were there, which is nice to see, but they ram the guests into a super small space which results in tables being basically on top of one another and makes it incredibly difficult to dip out to the bathroom. I ordered a beer which came entirely flat; no foam and no carbonation at all. I m not one to send things back but it s obvious when a beer is off, so I asked for a different beer instead. This was fine and she brought it, though there was a charge for the untouched beer on our bill that the waitress explained by saying this is a small family-owned business. We spent two hours here and saw our waitress maybe four times. The food was alright, we typically love barbecue but this place was pretty far below average in terms of quality and was certainly overpriced. There s far better places to spend your night in the area, I wouldn t recommend this one.

Saw an afternoon concert by Danny Marks. It was great. Good wine and good service.

We recently dined at Smokeshow BBQ and Brew and had a mixed experience. Starting with the positives, the atmosphere was fantastic Welcoming, comfort ,cozy, and inviting, with lighting that set just the right mood for a relaxed evening. The music was also a great touch, adding to the overall ambiance and making the place feel lively without being too loud. The service was excellent as well; the staff was attentive, friendly, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. Now, on to the food. The fries were solid crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The baked beans were a standout; they had a rich, smoky flavor that complemented the rest of the meal nicely. Unfortunately, that s where the highlights ended. I was disappointed by the ribs and brisket, especially considering the high price. The ribs were tough and dry, lacking the tender, juicy texture that makes ribs memorable. The brisket was also a bit tough, which was surprising given how important tenderness is in barbecue. It just didn t live up to the quality I d expect at this price point. In the end, while I loved the atmosphere, music, and service at Smokeshow BBQ and Brew, the food left something to be desired, especially considering the cost. I would come back for drinks,sides, and the music, but I d think twice before ordering the mains again.

Made reservations for a double bday party, it was a large party and requested a particular spot in the restaurant and was told it would be ok. Took my credit card to secure the spot requested. When we got there ( that section was given to someone else, I was livid at first but not to ruin mine and my friends bday I let it go. The owner was not accommodating and very rude and dismissive. That wasn t even the icing on the cake! He put a young girl to serve a large party that had no experience. Messed up every order, added things we did not order and had to adjust every bill. Still at the end we had to wait for the mess to get Resolved. And it never did and someone had to pay for things they did not order. I would never go back there and neither would anyone else that was part of our group. Terrible service and disrespect at its best!

I was there Saturday night the place was rammed which is nice to see! I have to complain though as the service was absolutely horrid. I believe the waiteess was new or somewhat new. We ordered two drinks each at a time knowing it was busy. The girl brought me the wrong drink and never came back and replaced it till i went to the bar and ordered a drink and then saw her and reminded her. I believe management should have paid more attention and perhaps somebody would have noticed she couldnt keep up... The bartenders were amazing, They were busy trying to keep patient which would have been very hard for me to do .. I cannot even tell you how many times I had to go to the bar to get my own drink even though we were ordering two at a time... The food took absolutely forever which I can under the circumstances, but i truly believe she forgot to punch in our food. The food was only OK but i didnt expect more on such a busy night with only 2 people in the kitchen. The table next to us was equally frustrated. I wanted to approach the owner/manager but he seemed to be a little bit of a cranky pants from watching him. I truly understand that times are tough and staff is hard to find... Not sure if you have extra staff but if you did they should have been on... The band has a pretty big following so i think maybe extra staff in these situations. I will be back at some point and hope the service will be much better.

Great place if you like loud music

Basing my review entirely off of the one dish I ate while I was there to see the live band. Holy Neptune I just had the best Calamari Ive ever eaten here. I am not a fancy man but I do have discerning taste. Its breading is light but not too light and the jalapeno dip it comes with compliments it perfectly, especially with a squeeze of lemon. If I am ever remotely in the area, I will be coming back to see if its a normal thing here or if it was just spectacular for this one night. Either way it was good enough that I had to rate it immediately.

Nicole is the best server I ve come across in the city in a long time and I ve been n the industry a long time attentive and aware of your needs . You are a keeper for anyone Great atmosphere and food at the smoke show bbq Food : 4/5

John and Nicole are Great hosts! We had a group of 15 guys for the evening and the staff took amazing care of us all. Food was excellend, the band and sound were amazing. Made for a very memorable evening! Thanks Guys!!

Alleycatz jazz bar was awesome. The food definitely worth it. The band was great as well. If your looking for a great hole-in- wall to hang with friends and have a good time, i would recommend this place.

Food was great the server/ bartender was awesome. A drunk man who I assume is the owner was harassing me and my partner. Kinda Ruined the night. Solid 6/10 Edit: thank you for fallowing up this was a bigger older guy was hanging out alone around the pool table no facial hair almost bald the bartender intervened once he noticed he s making us uncomfortable that guy was great. Other dude super sketch was trying to wispier to me something to me about my girl right in front of her. I could not understand a word he was saying. Anyhow shout out to the bartender again for saving the situation.

Please please dont come to this place, its horrible the owner John is very rude, he doesnt understand anything about customer service and I dont think he doesnt care about treat people well. I was sitting in one chair and he was very rude asked me to get out of the chair without giving any explanation. I was not seat in one private place, he only took my chair to give to another customer and didnt offer me any place to seat. I felt to bad about that because I am customer and I deserve to be treat well like all the customers. My first and last time in this place for sure.

We had a reservation for 3 people, were seating on our table and we stand to dance and the server offer our table to someone to sit with us, unbelievable. The service is horrible, I ordered a piña colada and take almost a hour to be ready, the tasty was horrible. The server never came to check on the table, we have to look for her.When we are about to leave, we asked for the check she brings a wrong bill and them when she finally bring the right one I had to go to the bar to ask where could I pay my check.Also if you planning to come see some event, be prepared to feel inside the oven, no air conditioning our even fans, the place is hot like hell.

We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon for a music school recital -- the last time I was there, it was called Chickn Deli -- and we had a blast. Music was excellent and food was average bar grub, but the prices were crazy.

Giving a 5 because the food was good (steak salad and fries), the service was ok...but the band was amazing!! Raquels Riot on Saturday was fabulous. Great talent, super tunes- 60s to today- a really fun band to dance to and listen to. The venue has a good atmosphere, there is a pool table... and the washrooms are clean and nice...and they have an accessible washroom!! But the band...let me tell you about the band...!!! LOL, seriously...if you see Raqels Riot on the event list make sure you make it a must-see!!!

I dont come here very often, but this is a nice bar right in the neighbourhood. The service is good, but I cant say much else due to my lack of visits here, other than it being a fine, but not cozy place for a drink. Its much more suited for events and smaller concert shows, which it does a great job with. Parking: A few spots out front in the plaza, a parking garage next door in the seniors building, and some street parking all around.

Great venue

My husband and I shared the calamari and the brisket sandwich and they were both great. We may have ordered the coconut shrimp by mistake as the waiter first brought us a coconut shrimp instead of the calamari but he was very gracious about it and said not to worry and ordered us the calamari right away. I felt bad but he kept saying not to worry about it. I really appreciate that he put me at ease. We have been here before and will definitely go back. Parking: I wouldn t say there is plenty of parking but we have never had a problem getting a spot. We usually arrive after most of the shops in the strip mall have closed and before the bands come on.

We came here during their summerlicious menu and the owner was the rudest man I have ever met in my life. I have a dairy allergy and the owner came over and told me that since my company was ordering off the summerlicious menu that I had too as well. When I told him that most everything had dairy, pointing out the dessert, and most meal options, he told me that was too bad ok sure, just kill me. if I could give this place 0 stars because of the owner I would. All of the food was sub par, frozen, tough, and the table next to us had hair in their food with undercooked chicken. I don t know how this place is in business and how this man has a job. I will never come back in my life.

Staff was nice. Owner is a real dbag ..if you know what I mean . But they serve pepperonis in their Caesar s.

I visited this place almost 2 yrs ago for my bday and really enjoyed the Boss Hog Platter. Went again today and I was disappointed - I don t think any of that meat saw the inside of a smoker before being put on my plate! Both the brisket and pulled pork were fatty and no smoke flavor. I get more flavor out of my pellet smoker. The wings didn t have any smoke either. The best thing on our platter was the jalapeño cornbread. Not sure if the problem was that we got there an hour after opening and there was a musical show starting at 730 that we weren t staying for. Might go back on a buck a shuck night but they need to get back on their bbq game especially with their name, because for me it was #NoSmokeShow

Went on disco night paid 15$ for cover charge. Band played a half hour then took 1 hour break came back at 11pm, but because of long break crowd emptied out. Plus, the food and service were horrible. Waste of time and money.

Unfriendliest staff I have ever come across. Friday night there was a female bartender who used to be a server on the floor years ago and I cant believe after all these years shes still as miserable and unpleasant. I hadnt been in a while so I thought I would give it another try but the staff, particularly that one lady thats been there for a long time, ruins it. You literally feel unwelcome there by the staff. Not one of them smiled or responded when I would say something. They just look like they hate their job. And charging $4 for a can of ginger ale? Seriously? She literally handed me a can of Ginger ale, no glass or anything and it was $4. I could buy a whole case for less than that. Ridiculous.

We wanted to enjoy some half price wings on Monday and stopped in with our little one. The server was great. Good service, food was decent, and lots of space for families!

Ordered a bbq platter. Food wasn t hot when it came out and was very bland. Barely any sauce on any of the bbq we ordered. Wings were tiny. The sever was really friendly and helpful.

The highlight of the night was the amazing live band that was playing - their music added a fantastic vibe to the restaurant and really enhanced the overall dining experience. The combination of the cozy ambiance and the live music created a truly enjoyable and memorable evening. Always fun! Great service and love the ambience. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Fabulous bands for all adult ages. A large dance floor and plenty of TV s to watch sports. Parking: Next door is paid parking lot. Free street parking on the side streets. Plenty of paid street parking.

I placed an order over an hour ago and 5 mins before the scheduled pick up, I received a notification that the order was cancelled due to non-acceptance of the order by the restaurant. Great food but abysmal customer service. 1

We booked a party of 25 to see a band that we know very closely. The food was good, wait staff service was good and the ambiance of the place was good. The front door greeter on the other hand needs some customer service skills training.

Food is alright but they have so many fun events happening pretty much every day of the week. I checked out the Bachata nights on Tuesdays and they re a lot of FUN!

The Food is bad. Which is hard to do given the type of food they sell. They also are very stingy on condiments. Prepare to eat your BBQ with little to no BBQ Sauce. A part from the quality the prices are high, allot of items to not come with sides. For this price you can eat at much nicer places

I ordered a half rack of ribs and received 4 ribs (cheat rack) for $22. Very upset. The half rack should be 6 to 8 ribs. This ruined the whole experience of the Beatles tribute show and celebrating my friends birthday.

Got take out today for around $100+ would not recommend, the chicken wings were smaller than 2 fingers put together. The meat was a touch above bland the only thing that was worth it was the onion rings and their yellow sauce. Not worth the money. If you want BBQ you need to go to Lancaster Smokehouse in Kitchener. I would rather drive the hour and half then go back here. Forgot to take a picture before we ate.. Most of it ended up in the trash.

Went there for the first time to see the show. We had good food and saw Rude E Bones performing. The band is much much better on live than any youtube/Facebook video you can find! Playing great from hard rock, pop and reggie as well! Great atmosphere created by the band but also wonderful people dancing and enjoying all the time. I saw complainants about being too loud - I sat 1 ft from a speaker and never complained. Supposed to be loud on rock music. If you go for food only - just dont, leave others enjoying! Its a place for over 40 with all kind of music of 80 and 90. Needs to book days in advance! We ll turn back soon!

Omg Nicole was amazing serving us and making sure we had the most fun. We came as a group for a friend s birthday and took the big table in the back. I had my birthday party there and it was a fantastic night, the music and food and also the service were great! Nicole was taking care of us and doing the services, that was the best services I have ever had.

We were there last night with a friends to celebrate our birthday girl. And I can say it was amazingggggg. Everything was great. We dance a lot. Nicole take care of us and she is amazing.

Went in for Winterlicious menu - food was okay, not much flavor overall. Short rib though tender, needed spices, very bland, potatoes and vegetables are best part .. service was reasonable for the limited staff. One less star given overall because i was not pleased that tip was selected for us and added to the debit machine, very unpleasant disrespectful feeling as it was not included on the receipt - unprofessional of the waitress in my opinion and no where did it advise that a 2 person table would automatically have 15% gratuity added. The amount added was 18% also, not as reply stared below. Not addressed in the moment to avoid ruining our evening. Atmosphere and karaoke was a good time. May return here for atmosphere but after poor reply to this review, I probably will not now. This not a bad review based on a poor meal. The action of the staff feeling bold enough to add a tip doesnt sit well aa a customer

We went with our teenager on a Saturday afternoon. The band was fantastic, the food terrific, the service outstanding and we enjoyed our game of pool. We will be back.

What a great place! We sat at the bar on a Sunday, and there were some young people playing in a band. They were great, but it was a bit loud. Once the house band came on, they were also great, and the volume allowed us to speak to each other. The burger was outstanding! Cleo was a great bartender too! All and all, what a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon! We will be back.

I will say that it s the best place to go in the area. I drive all the way from Alliston to go there on the weekends. Great staff, music and atmosphere. Big shout out to John, Carlo and Nicole for being good people and my favourite bartender Cleopatra.

I went for a friend s birthday party, we had fun dancing. The DJ Frank is one of the best. Very friendly and plays good music. Nice crowd.

Made dinner reservation as Winterlicious menu and live music seemed like a potentially good experience. Our group of 5 waited for over 10 mins for someone to come up to seat us or take an order. No one bothered, so we left. As we were leaving, a bartender wished us good night. Cant comment on the food as we didnt even get to that part but the place smelled like stale beer, not bbq. Not sure what to think of this place and their non-existent service. Its a definite no for me.

Good bar, got a pool table and good food - recommend the brisket) and nice drinks. Service was good. Unfortunately it costs $4 to play each pool game. They have sometimes socials like dance classes on Sunday evenings. Located centrally and accessibly in midtown.

Used the venues twice for private events. Once for a friends birthday and another for a corporate event. Working with John and his team was easy and they worked with us to make our events amazing. The food and the drinks were excellent and I would 100% use the venue again for a night out with friends or for private events.

A great local restaurant! We always can count on great food and an awesome experience at Smokeshow. Last time there we saw an incredible local band called Riff Raff that had such great energy and talent. The service is always excellent!

Food was very average. Waitress was very good. Metro Big Band was exceptionally good. Vocalists were very good. Definitely this was the best jazz concert I have been to in over 10 years. Over the top enjoyment. WOW. Parking: What parking? Had to park in a snowbank 3 blocks away. But this is Toronto and the Metro Big Band was worth it. I was not aware of the Green P lot next door until I walked past it. Next time I will know better.

This is a hidden gem. Whether you just want a bite to eat or prefer to spice up your food with some live music or need to host an event, Smokeshow is simply perfect. It s cozy and warm, the food is great, and service is amazing. Everybody is super friendly and after an hour you feel like you ve known these people forever. I organize an Argentine Tango night at Smokeshow twice a month and on behalf of all fellow dancers I can say that this place has a very special vibe. You come once and you ll keep coming again and again.

Right now it s my favorite bar with live music in midtown. The band was awesome, the staffs very friendly, great and awesome environment!

Guinness is poured correctly at the right temperature with a half inch foam head.

I d say one of Toronto s best uptown places for bands to play. And nice people to gather.

Smoke Show it is good place. However, when I went there with my wife, we could notice a lack o people working there to serve, and we didnt feel good after ordering chicken fingers. With only two beers, I felt full, and so did my wife with only four drinks, she threw up as soon as we arrived at home within walking distance, and we often drink and consume more than this. This happened last winter. We pretty much went to almost every Pub and bars in this neighborhood and this only happened there. I hope you guys can improve it.

We went before the show. Delicious food and very abundant. Excellent atention

We ordered the Brisket and side of fries and onion rings. It was pretty late in the night, at around 9.30pm. The fried and onion rings were great and fresh! The brisket could have been served hot. It was cold and didnt taste all that great! The server was very kind and courteous. I noticed that they had 18 % minimum tip on the swiping m/c which I felt was not usual. Well give the place another try, probably early in the evenings!

Where do I begin...the service was slow due to poor management. Our server did the best he could. The band was ok but did not read the room. The DJ was so much better.

If I had the ability to give this establishment 0 stars I would. This was absolutely the worst experiences I have ever had. The first week, my bill was wrong and I was charged $36.00 more for items I did not consume. When I tried to rectify the situation I was push away from an unprofessional, drunken waitress named Nicole who frequently had outbursts while attempting to sing Royals by Lorde several times; at the bar s regular karaoke night; as they didnt have her preferred version and all along ATTEMPTING to tend to her clientele. On night two, I attend the establishment and was immediately greeted with attitude upon arrival. The same waitress Nicole did not want to seat my party. The service was pretty much non existent. We were pretty much left to serve ourselves. After giving poor service with a side of attitude Nicole had the AUDACITY to say to my party that we couldn t use the debit machine as we didn t spend enough money and we didn t tip her. NICOLE, how can you expect a tip when we didn t receive the chance to order food that would have increased the likelihood of her spending money in the establishment and receiving a tip. I have to give a shout out to the manager who attempted to rectify the situation. I do appreciate your efforts but your kindness was simply overshadowed by the lack of care, dirty dishes while serving, the constant forgetfulness and incompetence of your other staff members. My recommendation would be to get rid of the bad apples who taint your establishment.

I was there for a birthday party. Didnt order any food. It was my first time there.

This establishment doesnt possess any unique qualities that might make it particularly memorable. During our visit, we noted that a lone staff member was tasked with attending to both the indoor and patio spaces, which seemed rather strained. The cuisine itself lacked any distinctive charm, proving to be fairly average in comparison to other dining experiences. Furthermore, the ambiance was somewhat wanting, failing to create an immersive or engaging environment. Prices were a little high for the venue.

Went there Friday July 14th for dinner. Tried their summerliciois menu and it was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I had the calamari,stuffed chicken and churros. My partner had the eggplant canneloni, shortribs and lava cake. All food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Our waitress was extremely polite and friendly. We went to try out the live music and we were also not disappointed. Danced most of the night with lots of cold beer flowing!. Definitely will be back .

If you like 80s music, and dancing, go there. Their Ceasars drink is pretty good too.

Went on a Friday night, a couple hours before the band starts. The place was empty, but still couldn t get any service. My friend and I had to grab menus from another table and go to the bar to order. Ordered a half-rack of ribs for over $20, and I got 4 bones, short of a standard half-rack, one of which was without meat on it. Doesn t even come with a side. The taste was good, but I was disappointed by the portions. By the time we were ready to leave, the place was busy and there were finally staff circulating. However, we now had to steal their attention from other tables to get our bill.

Excellent good....eggplant canolli was superb. One wait staff served the entire place alone and he was attentive and sweet and great. Had a lovely time listening to Club Django on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Warning to bands! : We played here and the venue refused to pay us after for our 3 hour show. The bar manager is extremely rude and defensive, and no one has followed up to any of my e-mails or messages on social media. They told us they would have a person on the door, but when their person never showed up, they blamed us. In addition to that, our drummer had food there and said it was clearly frozen junk and barely edible. Plenty of good bars in the Eglinton area, just head a little farther and AVOID THIS PLACE.

Good food (a bit experience!) with outstanding service. Beautiful big patio for summer. Always good live music, great DJ and excellent dance floor. Feel welcome everytime I go there, friendly staff and a great owner. Wonderful people and good vibes.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Very yummy salads and our server Nicole even though very busy made sure we had a great meal. In a very timely way. Definitely a return spot.

Went to this establishment for the first time this past weekend. I wanted to express how happy I was with my experience here! The food - Phenomenal! The service - Excellent! The atmosphere - Amazing! Spare Ribs: Small portions, tough stringy meat, BBQ sauce tasted like Heinz ketchup right out of the bottle. Despite prompt delivery, it arrived barely lukewarm.

Loved the atmosphere, music, and general vibe. The service was pretty bad. It took a long time to order, receive, and attempt to reorder drinks. That combined with my meal being forgotten altogether made the experience 4 stars instead of 5. Food

I went for the Beatles Show, which was amazing It was busy but was served a beer fast, and I asked for a water was given one right away. I did not eat but the food looked good. Would go back for dinner. Service

Great place to listen to some amazing bands, good ambiance, prices are not bad for drinks, entrance staff refused to take loonies and twoonies, said they were not allowed which I thought was odd. Cash is cash. Blonde bartender had a spot reserved at the bar for a person who came in half hour later. Did not know that bar stools could be reserved. Other than the service, place is great. Great crowd and parking is easy to get.

Went to see RudeEbones - had dinner and oh my goodness was it ever delicious ! Ordered from their specials menu- Went with 2 other friends and they enjoyed their dinner as well. Concert was amazing as always - due to how busy it was service was slow but that s ok we were watching the band and weren t going anywhere soon. Overall enjoyable experience with great atmosphere.

Delicious food! Frank the Sala King had a few dances there. It was fun and the food was good. The chicken wings were so good. I usually don t eat wings but I would have it there again. Friendly atmosphere and plenty of space to dance Vegetarian options: Let them know Dietary restrictions: Let them know Parking: Free parking lot on the property for convenience but there is also street parking available. I always get a spot.

We have a good friend who performs regularly at Smokeshow. He s always a crowd pleasure and everyone is out on the dance floor after enjoying the delicious BBQ

I dine at Smokeshow frequently although will not be returning. While the service, food & entertainment are always great, the way the owner handled my birthday celebration on a band night made me feel devalued. We continued to communicate leading up to the reservation whereby I had to condense my party by five people due to extenuating circumstances, as life happens, and the owner made it very clear he was frustrated with me - far from understanding - as I only informed him the day prior. I understand that he is trying to run a buisness but it is unacceptable how I was spoken to. Small remarks were made to myself and one of my guests by the owner that made it clear we were a burden to his business despite the generous bill my table racked up. Do better, John.
