Always good food and service not expensive

Place is going down hill. Gyros on a bun as I have for decades. They used to stack it, recent experience - not even enough gyros to fill either end of the bun. Was coldish. Pickles are not nice slices anymore but the coin shaped ones from the jar. I guess all good things too will pass with time. This was always pretty good. Big slump there right now.

I have been going to square boys for almost thirty years by my count it is a great family restaurant with good specials and great burgers I have introduced my second generation of customer so we keep the tradition going

Most delicious slovaki and soooo affordable!!!!

I used to go here all the time, I m not sure what happened to this place but the quality has gone away completely, I was served a stale bun with a homemade burger that was very noticeably pre-cooked and it had a very suspicious off putting texture, the fries were completely undercooked, and they just drowned low quality canned gravy all over the fries without asking me, the staff members as well as the older guy taking the cash were less than pleasant, not only with myself but with other customers. The establishment was extremely unclean and just over all I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone anymore. It s a rarity I have nothing good to say about an experience in an establishment and I tried my best to find a redeeming quality.

One of my favourite Greek Town restaurants to get a burger or chicken on a pita. The Daily Specials are appealing and very tasty. You can t go wrong for $10-12 lunch. Oh right, CASH ONLY!!! There is an atm inside the restaurant. Parking onsite for approximately 10 cars. Zet s by the airport reminds me of Square Boy. Parking: There are approximately 10 parking spots behind the restaurant (entrance off Danforth). Proceed with caution into the lot. There s a lot of activity between cars, pedestrians and cyclists. Kid-friendliness: A popular family friendly restaurant.

Came here for the first time today and loved it. Looks like they haven t updated their prices since the 90s and the burger was delicious in an old school diner kinda way. Will definitely return next time I m in the neighborhood

Delicious food with good prices

Today, I decided to go to my old stomping grounds and go for lunch at Square Boys on the Danforth I ordered the usual chicken souvlaki on a bun with fries. Now the cost was higher as expected but when I bit into the souvlaki it was so dry and the bun had fallen apart on my first bite, then to top it off my fries were skinny dried up sticks. I was so disappointed and didnt even finish any of it, tossed it out. When I was a teenager there were these pleasant elder men that ran this establishment perfect, to taste and environment. These new staff and food change has completely ruined my thoughts of ever returning to this restaurant.

I really enjoy the gyros and chicken souvlaki here, but I ve noticed the portions aren t as big as they used to be. There s definitely less meat now compared to before.

My favourite burger place in Toronto. Burger, fries and pop $7.50 ... And the team is very friendly. Can get busy. Square Boy Coolest hats in the East End. Parking: Lots of parking, and if its busy theres lots of parking in the neighbourhood.

Great Greek food. Simple, tasty, and always fresh. Been going here for over 40 years. My go to place when I need something warm and comforting. Call ahead because theyre always busy. They do have an outdoor patio as well if youve got the time. Gyro and chicken on a pita with the works are my favorites. Enjoy!

Found out about this place a few years ago when someone ordered it for a party I attended. It was amazing and it has been one of my favourite spots for a delicious meal at a reasonable price.

Classic diner spot they have a really good chicken souvlaki, pita or baguette/bun and hamburger combos the best bang for your buck. The space rem reminds me of Johnny s hamburgers on Sheppard except the space has more variety. Please note this is not a fancy place for the money you re paying, it s a Steel. I highly recommend coming here for a quick bite as this is a neighbourhood staple please support.

Recommended by some friends and decided to give it a try. Ordered a homemade beef cheeseburger and not gonna lie, this $7 is well worth the penny. The juicy patty is made entirely of beef, and the grilling process imparts a unique flavor to the burger. Coupled with some pickles and sauce - yum...delicious. Will order more hamburgers next time. PS Cash is the only option to pay so do keep that in mind if youre planning to visit there.

I have tried many items on the menu ( souvlaki on a bun/pita, homemade burger, souvlaki dinner, steak on a kaiser etc. ) I like them all. The prices are affordable and the potions are great. Highly recommended.

I was food poisoned. Yesterday, I came there with my family. After a whole day not eating anything I came to Square Boys to dine in. This morning around 9:30 AM my husband and I started feeling same discomfort in our stomachs. He felt dizzy and a bit discomfort, but as for me I started feeling stomach pains, uncontrollable sweating, diaherria, vomiting and weakness in my body (fever). We ate the chicken on bun, and the burger. All day I felt like this until now and it cost us $37.00 dollars for my husband to pick me up. It was hectic because we got stuck in traffic due to power outage. I use to enjoy the service and food here but after my experience I will not be returning. Undate; I was sick for the whole week due to the food poisoning. I had scares when I felt, at one point, it was difficult to breathe. Also, I had to rely on boost energy drinks and electrolytes packages for the entire week. I wonder if anyone else experienced food poisoning at Sqaure Boys?? Or was it just my luck?

End of an era. $6.00 for a pork stick. Most expensive on the Danforth. Pre cooked and reheated, like most of there best sellers, ready to reheat. Although the regular burger combo for $7.50 seems like a bargain, its about the only thing that they have to make fresh because of the burger patty. They gyro is also your best bet for fresh and the half chicken dinner they havent figured out how to screw up yet, go with a steak sandwich for fresh, as well as gyros, regular burger and half chicken and the salad is good. Everything else may have been cooked yesterday, dropped on the floor to re-season, and reheated for you today.....so long like the other OGs. Sell outs soaking in the last few bucks before they are gone for good. Thank you loyal customers.

The prices are reasonable and the food is so delicious. They have a variety of items on their menu. Parking: The parking is sometimes a little difficult some you have to park on the road have to pay a little bit. But it worth it.

The food is great, not to mention great prices. The workers are great, most of them very handsome. lol Its definitely a place you wanna try if u havent been. the only negative, not a bad one, but I think they need to make their place a bit bigger they bring in so much buisness its tight in there. Came here as a kid, still come here 20 years later. Classic diner, classic prices and staff that will make sure the experience is amazing. Can t recommend this place enough for a good meal!

The burgers and onion rings were great, the fries were not, and we had an awful experience with the strawberry shake. It was grainy on the first sip snd felt like there was sand mixed in. Only experienced this with ice cream that was melted and refrozen in the past. The shake was inedible and potentially dangerous since ice cream should not be refrozen after melting.

I love everything about this place. The prices are second to none - for the cost of a McDonald s combo you are getting something far, far superior. The portions are huge. The people are extremely kind no matter how busy they are especially the man taking the orders. And the food is EXCELLENT. The souvlaki is so delicious and the banquet burger is an easy 10/10. This is an institution in the area for very very good reason

A classic staple spot thats been operating from the same location since I was a kid. Its nothing fancy but for a quick satisfying meal for $10, you cant beat that compared to the golden arch which charges almost double. Bring cash and expect to wait if you go during rush hour.

Ive read the complaints about this place but theyre not going to deter me. I eat their food often. And Ive just been lucky I guess because I enjoy their food. Name even one other eatery between Square Boy and Broadview and Danforth thats been around as long as Square Boy. They must be doing something right. EDIT: Square Boy is under new management and I have a notable. The banquet burger was excellent four times in a row. I will be having it more often.

Toronto institution one of very few places you can still get a decent $5 burger in Toronto and I dont think anything on the menu is over $10 best souvlaki on a pita or bun in the city and that says a lot for the neighborhood its in ( a close 2nd being walking distance and 3rd being a 10 Min drive) cash only but they have an atm for dumb ss s.

Hidden gem for great tasting, cheap eats, on the danforth. Had the gyro ans home made burger, both were very good, huge portions and around $8 each. Definitely going back and recommending it

Super retro burger joint where your burger is prepared fresh and dressed in front of you just the way you want. This place is THE best deal in the entire city for a Burger combo. $7.50 gets you a good size burger on a fresh Kaiser, French fries and a pop add a heaping scoop of gravy to those fries and you re still under 10 bucks after tax for the combo. Can t be beat! This place is awesome

Going to lay it all out there. This is a classic old school place and classic and old school is exactly what you get. The food is great and fresh, you can see them making it in front of you. It s reasonably priced and the dinner for $13 is more food than you would get anywhere else for three times the price in the area. It s the last grab and go Greek restaurant on the Danforth. It s a smaller place and the summer the patio is open. There is limited seating but again it s a small space. It s always packed. So don t get in line unless you have already decided what you want. The menu is limited and given how quickly they move people through. For instance I ate in with my partner a and they serviced almost 50 customers in less than 30 minutes. That s 50 separate people with orders ranging from small to huge. It is fairly fast for a restaurant that grills in front of you. The staff are quick but not rude. It s a busy place and does not have the frills. So if you are looking for overly nice and chatty. This may not be for you. The food is cheap and good. The place is older but clean. The staff are efficient and not to chatty. It s packed every time I have been and it s because it s good food. So that s it. That s all. This isn t for the influencers and foodies. This is for people who want a nice meal, hot fresh and and a good price.

Been coming here since high school day and now moved east. Always have to make a pit stop no matter what when in area. Always busy which shows its good. They keep price low and affordable. Very friendly people. If not planing to dine in. Call in and place a order so you dont have to wait which is a plus. Parking: Popular place so parking is always full. Worth the wait if you ask me.

After 5-6 hours of moving furniture for work, this place hit the spot. Great food, great prices. Menu is filled with a few very good options instead of trying to do too much. You can get a burger and fries that would blow away a McCombo of the same price. Place is pretty cramped, but thats partly due to how many people are lined up to get food.

You also have to love a place that has the 20-year reunion edition of the Ms Pac-Man arcade game. If you want to skip the pretension and overinflated prices in typical Toronto establishments, this place is a stalwart gem. A veritable institution.

Double burger combo with a side of large fries. Great tasting burger! It is a fantastic burger for the price (this thing is huge); you really can t go wrong. There isn t much to say, but the value for money is amazing. Would recommend especially for the size and taste! Everything you d want from a burger is here! I would compare the taste to a Harvey s hamburger but better. The size and taste of the patty is to die for and the toppings taste fresh. I ll be driving down from Vaughan more often. You cant put a value on local businesses, especially when it tastes like quality, and is as generous as this!

Square boy is an east Toronto treasure. The food is always great and fresh. The service is fast but you can normally find a line up. The prices are incredibly fair in fact its something anyone who eats here will notice. They are one of the few restaurants who have kept prices fair while not sacrificing quality! They only take cash but do have an ATM. Your best bet is to bring cash with you.

Worth Trying. Turns out theres a couple of these around Toronto with the same signage, same menu, same everything. Except Id say this is one of the lesser ones in terms of quality and the annoying fact theyre cash only. Home burger is the one you want to get, as its a quarter pounder patty. They dont serve lettuce here for some reason. Fries are worse than the other locations (theyre not actually formally related). The patty here is less meaty, has a closer texture to a hot dog than a beef burger. Theres one at Eglinton and one near Yonge Steeles. Limited seating, limited parking onsite. Cash only.

Took my family to Square boys as I brought my son there a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. Went there tonight for dinner, and it was absolutely awful. The hamburgers were burnt and the chicken souvlaki was so dry everything was impossible to eat. Even the buns were burnt and falling apart. Even got another burger, which was just as burnt as the first one very disappointed.

He said 20 mins. Been 45 now and still waiting. Then the guy at the counter got mouthy with me when I asked after 40 mins if food is ready.

It is indeed an East end treasure. My kid loves their home made burgers, I go for their steak sandwich or their souvlaki on a pita..both excellent. They are incredibly generous with their fresh toppings and sauces. Generous with everything in traditional Greek style. Excellent service. I havent tried their roasted chicken yet because I am usually chickened out, but heard its a big hit. My kid usually gets fries with his burger, but I never cared for them..found them kind of boring. However today, he got them with gravy and boy, oh Square boy, didnt that just completely transform them!!! Wowsers. Such a treat to eat there. Next time going for the roast chicken as apparently its grilled to order! Its that charbroiled flavour that I crave. Kid-friendliness: They have an old school Pacman game console that actually works!!

This place is its own experience when you walk in the first time. Theres an atm machine right next to the entrance. The reason for that is that this place only accepts CASH, like the good old days. Bring some with you when you are planning on grabbing something from here. The food is decent, and everything is fairly priced. I always pick up chicken souvlaki on a pita with fries on the side, and they always get it consistently right. If you are wandering down Danforth and cant decide where to eat, give this place a chance
