A small place with a luxurious atmosphere. It was late so there was only one server working both the bar and tables, but he was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed.
I was staying upstairs in the hotel and decided to eat dinner here out of convenience. I was really impressed. The service was excellent and the food was tasty. It’s a smaller, more intimate setting.
The portions were small, too salty and didn't taste great. the dessert was poorly executed. Our server was nice and attentive though.
Good chicken schnitzel but the spatzle was very odd. Service was warm and friendly and excellent. Nice hotel bar.
If you're looking for a great burger, Stages Restaurant & Lounge is definitely worth a visit. The chef, Lex, knows how to make a tasty burger that's sure to satisfy. The burger I had was cooked to perfection, with a juicy patty and delicious toppings. The bun was fresh and held up well to the toppings with delicious perfectly melted cheese But Stages isn't just about burgers. The restaurant has a variety of other dishes on the menu that are sure to please. From appetizers to entrees, the food is well-prepared and flavorful. And if you're looking for a great drink to go with your meal, the lounge area has a wide selection of beverages to choose from. One of the standout features of Stages is the atmosphere. The restaurant has a sleek and modern feel, with plenty of comfortable seating options. Overall, I would definitely recommend Stages Restaurant & Lounge to anyone looking for a great meal out. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is top-notch. And with a talented chef like Lex at the helm, you're sure to be in good hands.
An interesting take on what appeared to be an Italian menu but I was pleasantly surprised. The pasta was well cooked and the braised beef was almost perfect. The touch of chili oil was definitely unexpected but I quite liked that additional flavour. All in all it was a great dish and well constructed. My only complaint would be that it needed a bit more sauce. Kudos to the Chef!
I chose the pasta dish named Canadian Ribs. It didn't taste very good. But, the pineapple French Martini was positively surprising and the rum and cook was good. The restaurant is not very open so it is not convenient for residents.
Took my Fiancée out for their winterliciois. I’m vegan and they had an interesting vegan menu. I was especially looking forward to the lemon merengue as it is my fave dessert hard to find vegan and wasn’t made from coconut :) First was a mushroom medley. It was tasty but lacked in the mushrooms. Second was mainly just a big plate of veggies put together in a fancy way. I was expecting something very different plus I don’t like yellow peppers and it had soooo many. I really liked the tomato based sauce that was in there I would have just eaten that with bread 😂. My partner enjoyed their dead animal 😂(darn vegan at it again) And to finish THAT MERENGUE WAS AMAZING like I would have had 3 courses of that. So happy to hear they will be keeping it on the menu. Will be back for that. Staff was friendly and attentive. The lighting was much too bright for the atmosphere and the time of night. Would have made it more romantic/fancy if they were dimmed down A LOT more (I don’t even like too dark when I’m eating but too bright can totally ruin the vibe) All around lovely experience.
Disappointing visit. Food quality fair to poor. Great fries, not great fish and chips, cool pasta, and small portions. Service was nice, though. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible.
The new chef that is there is really good! I think his name is Chef Lex.The food was amazing. Reading these old reviews I can confidently say that they are null and void compared to now. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

A very familiar coffee aroma grabbed my attention on my way out and to my delight, it was Marley Coffee. Every Jamaican gets thrilled whenever they encounter aspects of Jamaican culture outside of island. I tried the parmigiano scrambled meal. It seemed a bit pricey but the flavors and plating were excellent and felt well worth it. Awesome experience.
We came for summerlicious, the food was so inedible we didn t even get to mains. The staff was very friendly and understanding, but we left without eating.
Do not recommend visiting. Ordered the summerlicious three course menu: calamari fritti, bison burger and flour less chocolate cake. The calamari was over fried and many pieces were burnt, the dipping sauce was good with the pieces that were edible but most werent. The bison burger was basic, would have tasted better if it was cooked medium/medium rare. It had very little cheese stuffed and not even a hint of bacon which it supposedly is stuffed with. The chocolate cake was chocolately and delicious which is why this place gets its two stars. There were many insects flying around the restaurant and even settled on the food which we then couldnt eat. Alerted the waitress to this and she responded with oh theyre just fruit flies and they get in because of the door opening and we cant avoid them. Ummm fruit flies carry bacteria and other restaurants seem to be able to avoid them indoors. Clearly, food safety, taste and health standards is not a priority for this restaurant and so do not recommend.
I came to grab some drinks from the bar. The bartender was amazing! Very friendly and he made great drinks for us.
The staff was friendly. That aspect was good service. However my stay wasn t that well. I stayed in the City King guestroom, the room was beautiful but the ad said the room has various views which is why I booked that room but all I got was a wall/side of a building to look at. The pillows in the room was terrible if I would even say they are pillows. I had little to no sleep. I was falling asleep on my drive home which was 2 hours away. For me sleep is important. The look of the room was a waste if I didn t have a good rest.
Summerlicious menu was decent, but service was not. Painfully slow and inattentive, food arrived before drinks (and only two other tables occupied!). Although I commend the all-gender restrooms, cant say I enjoy wading through urine. Wish the experience was better.
We came here for winterlicious, which was somewhat overpriced. The service here is terrible. We were not offered water when we sat and had to ask for it. The server told us several items which we were looking forward to, were unavailable, but tables after us were able to order those unavailable items. The water was refilled very few times, and we had to wait a long while in order for the table to be cleared and for each dish to come. It was also difficult getting the bill, we were done for almost half an hour before the bill came. The food itself was not bad, the presentation was good for the butternut squash puree, beef papardelle, and desserts, but it was nothing special. A horrible experience for the price, especially given the non-existent service.
Booked Stages 2 hours prior to a show at Massey Hall - its a very small place inside the Pantages Hotel and there were still a few open tables. Unfortunately Management seems to think that having ONE disinterested employee to work the bar, wait the tables, bus the tables and attend to all the guests needs is sufficient. Its not. At all. but this evening was so ridiculous it was comical 15 mins after being seated we still didnt even have water or menus 20 mins in we get menus and order drinks 30 mins we order our options from the small set menu 50 mins in the wrong appetizers arrived (we ordered soup he brought hummus) 55 mins - he brings one soup and one hummus (again!) (BOTH were supposed to be soup hence why we sent the hummus back...we repeat the full order. Again.) 65 mins - the other soup arrives. We specifically repeat our mains option and the dessert option and tell him to bring everything together 85 mins - he brings 2 pasta entrees...one was correct the other was supposed to be salmon (even though we JUST repeated the order AGAIN 20 mins prior) he said hell be right back with the salmon 95 mins - he comes with dessert and the bill...NO ENTREE WITH HIM!! He says he FORGOT 100 mins - comes back and says the kitchen cant make the salmon in time, he also says he cannot get us hot water, or coffee to go with this dessert (which is about to be my Mothers main meal) Over a span of 1 hour and 50 minutes they were not able to provide a very simple set menu to a table of 2 people. When we left there was no one else there. HOW DOES ONE SCREW UP SO BADLY OVER 2 HOURS?? Now the server himself was also obviously not that concerned with getting things right after the first mess up as he didnt even write anything down. By far the WORST and MOST RIDICULOUS experience Ive ever had, anywhere. Just Shameful.

A surprisingly wonderful reveal of new menu indulgences for Winterlicious. Our party of 9 were all delighted with their choices. I will be back soon.
Sorry, but really not-good. Friendly staff, but that was it. The whole restaurant seats about 16 people, yet cramped. Salad was wilty, steak was tough (and with no steak knife), cheese tray was missing items. Wouldnt have been worth it at half the cost.

Not a reflection on our server who appeared to be doing her best and was profoundly apologetic but, this establishment should NOT be serving food!? Our food took an eternity to arrive and in this case, not worth the wait at all. The charcuterie board was a sorry sight, the wings not as ordered. Soup lukewarm. Huge disappointment as we were seated at 6 and yet ended up being so rushed in order to attend a show at 8 next door.
Great spot for drinks pre or post show.

A little expensive but good food
One person here for the bar and restaurant combined. Service was bad, slow, and the food was worse. Drinks were terrible and missing ingredients. Do not visit. Hotel is nice, but go somewhere else for dinner.
This bar is elegant, understated and the service is lovely. Right across the street from Massey Hall and just steps from the Ed Mirvish Theatre, this bar has a perfect lounge atmosphere for good conversation and a few drinks with a friend before or after a show. I absolutely love their selection of subtle live musical entertainment as well.
