132 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M5C 1X3, Canada
Housed in a heritage building in the heart of the financial district on Yonge & Temperance, Sud Forno offers two unique dining experiences. Our restaurant, Osteria Da Geppetto, is a full service sit-down restaurant that features contemporary Italian cuisine that highlights the traditional essence of Terroni dishes. Our "Mensa", an Italian cafeteria-style approach, offers options to grab and go or stay and dine-in. Pick-up a tray and select from an assortment of hot or cold items featuring Italian pastries, pizza, fresh bread, breakfast, lunch and dinner items that are long established favourites of Sud Forno.
Upscale Italian restaurant located in Toronto's Financial District. Great pizzas, pastas and desserts served in an eclectic space.
Menu is mainly in Italian so I can’t even pronounce most of their dishes, but this place has great vibe! I order the shrimp pasta and it was okay. Came out a bit cold and pasta was slightly undercooked. But the shrimp tasted great and buttery. Portions were standard for downtown Toronto. The waitress brought out a plate of complimentary donut when I told her it was my birthday. And it was very tasty! I think they are famous for their desserts and coffee bar. Nice Italian restaurant to check out after shopping at Eaton centre.
It has the vibe and atmosphere of downtown Toronto. We appreciated the setting, which was packed during lunchtime, but it was managed very well; it seems the staff are well organized and accommodating. I took my son for his 25th birthday and didn't book in advance; however, I explained to the staff that it was a special occasion and would wait. I appreciate they took care of us. The food was delicious, the pizza was lovely, and the salmon was good and perfectly cooked. I want to thank you for hosting Sophia, making a nice gesture, and bringing a chocolate cake 🎂 with a candle to celebrate my son's birthday. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
The food was really tasty and Andrea took good care of me and my friends☺️ She was so professional and attentive. That’s the kind of hospitality you expect to have in a restaurant. I will definitely come back next time I visit Toronto! Thank you
Beautiful place in the middle of city for a calm and quiet remote working or quick eat stop! Good selection of coffee, pastries, pizza, salad, sandwiches and cookies. One of the best espresso I have ever had! I recommend you try their coffee at least!
Must say the food is quite average especially for the price you are paying (not cheap). Went with a few friends and got a couple of apps including the calamari (fritto misto) and this cheese dish. Both were good. However tried the ravioli for the main and it just wasn't it. The sauce was very tomato taste heavy the stuffing was a lot more spinach than cheese. Overall quite average. The restaurant was weirdly empty during dinner time on Thursday evening even though there is a lot of space and is decorated quite nicely. The service is friendly.
Food wasn't that good. Bland, breads were hard. I ordered one pizza. But i totally regret it. The menu was in Italian. Even the waiter's english was very hard to understand. I don't know anything about Italian cuisine. But if that was the taste of Italian cuisine, then I would never try those foods. Totally disappointed.
Good Italian restaurant. Easy to make reservations. We booked for 10 people and they kind of seated us in a smaller, more private area at the back—- kind of behind the wine display, where the decors were the bags of pasta and tomato cans lol. So it’s a shame we weren’t able to enjoy the pretty aesthetics and high wooden ceiling on the main part of the restaurant. Food and drinks were good, had pizza but I wasn’t able to take pictures of it! But it does back up the price point. Servers were nice and attentive.
We ordered the fritti misto and the Prosciutto e Bufala pizza. For the fritti misto, there were only 3 shrimp in the dish so in terms of sharing an appetizer we each got 1.5 shrimp. It was mainly vegetables so the value was not great in my opinion. It would be great to just have a traditional option of fried calamari with sauce. The pizza was decent. The price for an Aperol spritz was I think the most weve ever paid- $17 and would not order that again. The service was friendly and the location is convenient.
Another trusty venue, always great!
Undercooked salmon, bitter cabbage, undercooked potatoes. Service was ok
Some of the apps we tried were a bit unevenly salted.
Food was delicious and the service was top notch!
Good Italian food. Loved the ambience very cozy and welcoming. Service was good. Place was packed on a Monday but they have plenty of space inside.
They dont serve diet products but serve sugar and alcohol. As a diabetic I cant come back.
Cool atmosphere. My wife is Italian and a very good cook. The apps were amazing and fresh. But the meat balls were way too salty...the main was ok. Not to par to want to make a trip for.
The food was just average. Quantity is quite less (lunch portion was like small breakfast). The taste of food below average. I ordered Rivvoli and all my friends order different other options but none of them praised food. Ambience is great, decent crowd and good service. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options. One in Pizza & Pasta and one Rivvoli. Kid-friendliness: Its not for kids since this place serves Alchohol. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Lots of private seating , hit or miss as far as food goes. My salmon was cooked well. Would not recommend the Ravioli or butterscotch pudding
Sat down for 30 mins and no one came to take our order or even pour us water. Think the waiters name was Vini. Awful guy. We watched the tables next to us get served before us and they acted like we weren t even there.
Like the European vibe and ambiance. The food is good but some meals were burnt or overpriced so giving 4 . I used to go more often here before the pandemic so giving 4 as I remember this place as a super stop for lunch or dinner during a work week. Food
You need to teach your baristas some basic customer service skills. The woman at the counter made a messy cappuccino: over poured it all over the cup and saucer and handed it over like it was ok We politely asked her to please change the cup, she rolled her eyes, no sorry let me fix that for you, , no smile, stonewalled. She looked like WE made THAT mess and owed her money. And that is AFTER we tipped 22%. This attitude makes me never prepay a tip ever again . Certainly won t have coffee at your place again. Put her through training.
Good for coffee but a bit loud for conversation
I went with my co workers and the ambience was amazing. Ordered spinach ravioli, which was undercooked, had very little sauce, although the sauce was the best. My co workers ordered pizza, they loved the pizza. The ravioli wasnt satisfactory thougg.
Food was okay (two people had undercooked pasta, everything needed salt), atmosphere was too loud to speak comfortably for a while but eventually nice, and everything would have been fine if our server wasnt mia for an hour after we finished our food. And stood right behind me as I put in my tip.
Amazing selection of sandwiches and treats. Good coffee.
Went for happy hour, the menu was okay not too many options. Service was very attentive and timely Vegetarian options: Not a lot
During a recent visit to Sud Forno, we had a very disappointing experience. Our server made an error with our order, charged us a dish we never requested, while failing to serve the one we actually ordered. To make matters worse, we were still charged for the incorrect and nonexistent dish, and the bill included an unexpectedly high gratuity fee. When we brought the issue to their attention, the only resolution offered was a refund for the overcharged item, with no further apology or attempt to remedy the situation. The overall experience left us frustrated and dissatisfied with both the service and the handling of the issue. And the whole vibe there is extremely noisy. Not recommended.
Great atmosphere. Food was overpriced for the quality.
Ordered the Cacio e pepe - thought it was a bit bland and the sauce was a little watered down. The portion was on the smaller side but made me 80% full and my other friend grabbed a burger afterwards. Server was friendly and nice!
Cafe servers are terribly rude
I have always loved Sud Forno for their amazing food got to try their sourdough bread recently as well it s delicious!
This was the most perfectly al dente pasta I have ever had, our waitress was lovely as were the cocktails and really reasonably priced
Andrea the Chilean took great care of us 10/20
A really great Italian spot for food and drinks, with exceptional pizza and pasta dishes! A list of creative Spritz is how we started out (a corporate lunch) with a pizza and salad to share as an appetizer. I had the Spinach Ravioli as my main, which was very well done. The rest of the table opted for a variety of pasta dishes, all of which were raved about. Ill be back with friends, family and clients in the future. Make sure to call early and book a reservation (a few days earlier) as it books up fast with all the offices in the area; Tuesday and Wednesday are especially busy. Vegetarian options: A lot of options; Pizza, pasta, salads and appetizers all have vegetarian options!
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and great service. Loved it.
Absolutely excellent selection of drinks and meals. The food was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. One of the best Italian restaurants in the city for sure
Stopped in here to have a business meeting with a colleague of mine. The service was fantastic and the coffee was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place for quick beneficient service and great quality products.
The grossest $6.75 Americano with oat milk. Otherwise nice atmosphere.
Excellent quality food and service. Lovely atmosphere.
Stopped in for a cocktail, service at the bar was slow as the bartender was split between bar and thr take out counter. When it arrived the cocktail was delicious!
Everything was so good!
The food itself was good but we ordered appetizers and the waitstaff kept coming over to take the plates even though we were still eating. By the third time they tried to take it she basically didn t ask and just whisked it away.
Great food and environment!
As a student walking in with a back pack I have had some rude interactions with the staff. But I can t say the food isn t delicious. I always go for a pasta and it never disappoints.
I am Italian and sorry but here it feels anything but Italy! Staff is completely unfriendly and it takes forever just to get an espresso and with no spoon so I have to turn my coffee with my finger
the olive oil is bitter . Rly don t know why
Great food, really loved it. We went at lunchtime so it was very busy and really noisy. Gradually the office goers left and it became quiet. However, the service also slowed down so we had to wait for the bill for ages.
Expected bread to be better as it is above a bakery. Good pasta, but small sizes and not a lot of meat. Desert was very good. Great atmosphere and service.
Service and atmosphere were great! But the food was a huge disappointment. Ordered two different kinds of pizzas and both were dry and not up to the standard. The restaurant had been on my to go list for some time but disappointing experience.
they didn t even approach us when we came if we re gonna dine in or what. they were just standing there looking at us
I just love this place and everything about that!
Ordered a heavenly cream tea and said it three times and still got the wrong one( green). Honestly upsetting when it costs 6 dollars for a tea and they expect a tip for a take out order.
Great food, a bit loud at lunch and the cold October air was blowing in. Makes me wonder what its like in winter!
Excellent service and food last night. Andrea served us and took care of us so well even though it was very busy. We had the carpaccio and the octopus, latter of which was the best octopus I ve ever had! Then I shared the spinach and ricotta ravioli with my mom and my brother and dad each got the tagliatelle bolognese which were all delicious and the perfect amount of food. For dessert we shared the panna cotta and little donuts. And Andrea made sure to give us a couple portions of fresh red peppers which we fully enjoyed and even bought a bottle to take home with us. Everything was amazing and we will be returning again!
Good place for a quick snack - the flavour is missing to the Italian authentic food
Love this Restaurant!!
Food is always fresh and delicious, staff friendly and efficient. My downtown coffee shop when Im downtown.
Very impressed with the service. We held our friends bachelorette here and they did a fabulous job. The menus with our logo were a lovely touch. Thank you for making it a memorable evening...still dreaming about the ravioli. It was delicious!
Favorite place in Toronto
Good food, delicious dessert! Panna cotta is a must try. Place is quite busy. Ambiance is good. Very limited vegetarian options, but pasta was good. Quantity seems less but it was filling. Vegetarian options: Limited to choose from.
VInnie was a wonderful server and he was handling the Bar also. We had cavatelli and Tagniollini. Both homemade and both excellent.
Very good restaurant, very fast service for lunch, I recommend the Toto pizza slice !
I usually get food from the counter and its fast, delicious, and quick. I like the variety from salads to pizza and sandwiches. I loved every dessert Ive ever tried at Sud. The counter offers nice quality food in a casual environment.
Visited in July 2024 while I was visiting Toronto. Got the garganelli gapetto, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Tagliolini ai Gamberi e Bottarga, and a pizza (cant remember the name). The Pizza and the Garganelli gapetto were okay.. but the other two dishes were good. Also got the fried calamari was super crispy and yummy. Great cocktails and really lovely ambiance!
I had an Ortolana pizza and it was quite bland. Service and environment was top notch Vegetarian options: You can find many vegetarian options in the menu
Extremely disappointed in the customer service and the server in the coffee serving area. I paid $4.50 for a tea to drink in. I specified dine in. I was served a plastic cup with no apology no explanation no lid no nothing. Just a tea bag in a plastic cup. I asked that I am having my tea inside, she was very rude and saying we dont have any clean mugs and turned around and she and the other 2 servers were laughing at me. Is this a joke? No customer service skills. Extremely rude. Here is the photo of the empty dirty mugs. You cant wash the mugs or you dont have extra mugs for a place serving in the middle of downtown.train your staff especially the one by the tea coffee area. So rude and 0 manners Never coming back again
Great spot. Must have the truffle pasta
From an Italian on holiday in Canada... Finally a real Italian breakfast in the center of Toronto... Coffee, Cappuccino and Croissants like at the bar in Italy... Which in Toronto is really difficult to find apart from the Little Italys. Comfortable environment and friendly staff. Prices a little high... But adequate given the standard of living of the city.
Very nice..
This place deserves 5 stars with its amazing coffee and cozy atmosphere, the only reason I dident leave 5 stars is simply for the fact that they make you go up and order your coffee and then you also have to bring your coffee back to your own table but in the meantime they still ask you to tip for the service? Im confused though, the only thing that they did was make the coffee which is their job? Why would I tip if I have to go up myself and bring it to my own tabls?
We recently dined at SUD, and while we were impressed with the excellent service, we found the pastas specifically the Alla Bolognese and Alla Norcina were overly salty and nearly inedible. Its a shame because the service was top-notch, but the excessive salt really detracted from the meal. We hope this feedback helps in improving the dish for future patrons.
Stopped in for a sundowner, nice cool place to chill for an evening glass of wine...while taking in the liveliness of the city as people go by...theyre big glass windows all-around at this location on Yonge Street. Interior decor is nice and quite inviting, with an island in the middle with seating, great place to converse with friends, service was attentive. A little pricey in comparison to some of the other bars on the same street, but wine was good and atmosphere nice.
If youre looking for a tasty lunch option thats served hot, then this is not the place for you. We did go at peak lunch time, but they had enough staff on hand to ensure that the meals came hot to the table. Our server, was friendly enough but did not have the finesse as a server. Checked back once when we still hadnt recd our meal and zero times after the meal came out. We had to flag her down every time we needed something. The other staff didnt even offer to assist with anything... just studiously avoided eye contact. Over all opinion? Not delicious enough to over look the poor service and service not good enough to overlook the bleh meal... in a nutshell? Over priced.
Its a decent place. You have to order in person for the coffee. They wont serve you that at the table. They do serve when it comes to a full service food menu.
I went with two friends and we wanted to try some desserts and some food and we were excited about it, but when we arrived the people in the counter didn t explain that the bakery was not available anymore, and then the service was very bad, server treated us like if we were not welcome there and he asked several times if we preferred to go to another place
The place is good, but Im disappointed with the service, I went with 2 friends for dinner and the people in the counter didnt tell us that the bakery was close (we wanted to try desserts) when we were upstairs the guy serving our table looked at us in a awful way, and asked us if we wanted to stay or go downstairs or what? I was like . At the end we ordered pizza (it was just good).
Stunning architecture, friendly accommodating staff, comfortable meeting space, delicious pastries and pretty cappuccinos. What a combination! Thank you.
Such a Cozy Spot for Authentic Italian Flavors!!! Sud Forno Downtown is a fantastic spot for anyone craving a true taste of Italy. I stopped by for lunch and tried the pizza, Caprese salad, and coffee, and I was impressed by the quality and freshness of everything. The pizza was the star of the meal crispy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, and topped with fresh ingredients that made every bite delightful. The Caprese salad was simple yet delicious, with ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella that paired perfectly with a drizzle of olive oil. To top it all off, the coffee was rich and smooth, a great way to end the meal. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Whether youre grabbing a quick bite or looking for a leisurely meal, Sud Forno is a must-visit for Italian food lovers!
I love it. It feels you are eating in Italy!
Great spot and decent service but the food lacked flavour.
Very nice for a cup of coffee and pastry in the morning
Excellent food and great service.
Had lunch here and food was good including calamari and shrimp dish. We were upstairs and it was quite noisy with the low ceiling. Could tell it was a business lunch crowd and people quickly eating lunch and getting back to work. Pasta though tasty were both a bit salty. Pizza crust was a bit tough. Nice little market area on lower level to grab a quick bite or if on the go. May try that next time vs eating in.
Italian cafe. Nice place for a break and chitchat. Not too noisy, able to hold a decent conversation. Fairly clean.
Had a quick spaghetti with friends without drinks and dessert, paid 18% tips. And the server suddenly being so cool and kind of rude, the feeling she gave me is kind of meaning 18% tips is too cheap or because I m Asian and I need to pay 22% tips with just serving the water and bring the food to me. If yes, that s fine for me. If not, I wish the management can notice that. I m just a customer.
Lovely ambience and great dishes. I had the Garganelli pasta while my date had the N duje pasta. Mine was cheese based and creamy while his was seafood based with mussels on the side. The dishes came 15 minutes after placing the order which was quite fast in my opinion. We were served water while we waited for our meals to be served. I loved it here, hoping to visit again Toronto Living
Everything so delicious the sandwiches the drinks! Great service and atmosphere is beautiful!
You need more lunch options. It looks like youre closing. Good for coffee but not lunch. Vegetarian options: none
Great dinner experience! Nice atmosphere
The food was amazing! I loved the tiramisu especially! Pictured are the Calabrese and Casertana pizzas.
Stopped by for a quick dinner. Had pizza, thought it would be thin crust but it was quite thick and fluffy. Served was friendly though
Ive visited this charming Italian spot twice for coffee chats with clients. It offers the perfect blend of lively ambiance and privacy. The cafe and bar are downstairs, while the restaurant is upstairs. The staff are welcoming, and their coffee is excellent. They frequently have freshly baked cookies and sourdough bread available for purchase. Overall, its a fantastic place to meet and relax.
We really loved our visit to this place it has a nice patio
Always a great spot for food and a beverage.
Pizza was delicious and the restaurant was set up very nicely. Will love to come and try more of their menu and drinks.
We went as a group of 10 - so expectations were higher than usual. It was a celebration. The waitress had no clue of the menu. I asked her about the steak, if it s local, grass fed? All basic information when you are eating healthy. She s like I don t know lol and went to ask the chef but the head chef wasn t there and no else knew anything about the steak. Oh man I shouldn t have ordered it. It was so bland, unflavoured. I cook a Leo at home and this eating out here made me regret it. I know what you re thinking, it s an Italian place focused on Ostad, but then half our table got pasta and they weren t happy either. The waitress was average, never asked about how is your food? . I asked for horseradish and she didn t have it. It had no flavour. I asked for Parmesan for my potatoes and she brought it way too late I was done my food. Honestly, I ve been to their other locations and it was better but I don t recommend this place at all. Save your time and money. OHHHH and I asked for an espresso at the end, holy wow it was half a half a half of a shot. So small. Come one!
Its ok.
The food was ok, not the usual. Tasty but not over the top. Perhaps it was one of those days. Will try again next time
The way the pasta is cooked here is phenomenal. I could eat 5 bowls!
Girl at cashier got attitude
Rude employees
I ve been going here for years. While I enjoy their cafe service, every time I ve dined in, the experience had been quite mediocre. At my most recent visit, our server assured us at least 3-4 times that their selection of fresh juices were freshly made in house. When we got our OJ, it was clearly store bought juice. We make juices at home often - so it s quite obvious when something is not. Still, our server insisted it was fresh. Why lie? Just say you don t have it. I heavily disliked being misled and deceived. They did take the juice back and take it off the bill, which is a good thing because no one with some standard would pay $8 for store bought juice that s worth max $2. Server was still tipped 20% but not because of their good service, but because we re literally in an economic crisis. This was just one example but it s the culmination of little things like that, that keep sud forno quite average. I would recommend their cafe offerings but not dine in. Food quality is also variable - when it s good it s great - but that consistency is lacking. Tldr: good offerings at their cafe but dine in and general customer service exudes mediocrity at best. And please train your staff to not lie to customers.
The food is delicious. However, I cannot say the same thing for the service and the attitude of the staff. Disappointed.
Ideal for a delightful coffee excursion, featuring a serene and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.
We loved the atmosphere - the patio is nicely shaded and tranquil, which is good for having conversations. The server is great - he is attentive, friendly but not overwhelming. The food, to be fair, is more likely 3.5 stars. Both salad and pasta (forgive me for not remembering the fancy Italian name) are over seasoned and pretty salty. Carrot cake is good but my friend said Cannolis feeling was too sweet (and I concur). Overall, its a nice place to hang out if you are not a foodie.
A classic spot
Delicious coffee
You can t go wrong with a margarita pizza at Sud Forno and any pasta. We love coming here for meeting up with friends or a drink. Great atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating.
My partner and I had the Bolognese pasta and a spicy salamini pizza. While the pasta was great, the pizza was very underwhelming for the price. Not only was it small, but it seemed like it was sitting out for at least 5 minutes as it wasnt hot. It looked like a Tim Hortens pizza with higher quality ingredients.
Very limited menu. Not many options for any kind of dietary restrictions.
Awful coffee and espresso with limited bakery items Very rude servers The coffee I got tasted off and we asked for it to be remade and he refused and said he will charge for the remake. I m sorry but if you can t do the simplest gesture and re-make a coffee, you shouldn t be working there . Never coming back here
Great place to have lunch weekdays & weekend. Quality food, attentive service. Good value.
Beautiful place! Amazing pastries. Great for brunch
The cafe at the ground level has great pastries and a nice atmosphere. I was recommended the almond croissant and it was one of the best I ve had!
Being from out of town I didnt realize that there is very limited space to sit down and enjoy your food and experience. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
Good place for Italian cuisine.
the food is baad lol We ordered both pizza and pasta and let me tell you I can easily cook a better pizza and pasta at home Dry, tasteless, expensive - 1/5 I would honestly be embarassed to serve this stuff. Expensive too. Service was great though
Happy to have finally tried Sud Forno, and that they are wheelchair accessible! Great service, delicious food and a wonderful time. Wheelchair accessibility: There is no step to gain entrance into the restaurant, along with an accessible door button. They have an elevator to bring you upstairs to dine as well.
Service was great. Food was a disappointment especially the octopus dish. It was a pathetic small piece. Taste wise nothing amazing. Not worth the price we paid for. Pastas were alright too. I expected more from the place based on the reviews.
One of the best Italian restaurants in town. A couple of appetizers are a bit salty. My favorites are the sea bass and our mini desert mix. Great dining experience. Highly recommended.
Super helpful finding a dish to accommodate an allergy
nice vibes, good Italian food!
Great spot on the back patio for a nice lunch. Well shaded and away from the traffic of Bay Street.
The food was very good, and Andreas service was exceptional, she made our walk more pleasant with the attention and suggestions she gave us for our lunch Vegetarian options: the eggplant option is spectacular
My friend and I went on two different Saturdays for coffee, around 11am, and the staff is just awful. Theyre super rude. At one point today, the brunette waitress who was clearing tables paused to stare at us and audibly sighed. Im a nice person, but yall are really pushing it.
Ambience is good. No options for vegans except for the salads. The fried eggplant dish is vegan from an ingredient perspective but the eggplants are fried in the same oil as meat and seafood. The bread served was cold. The salad was tasty.
Average nice restaurant in Toronto but bland food. We ordered the cheese tasting board which I had high expectations for but was disappointed with. It was very cheesy and the fig/jam pairings werent that great. My standards may be high from wine and cheese tasting in Niagara. The pizza and gnocchi were extremely bland and it felt like they had forgotten the salt entirely. The risotto was the only decent thing we got. We were a bit neglected when it came to service but it might have been because of the location we were sitting in.
They staff were very nice and accommodating. The food is beyond great
Little hesitant at first but was absolutely fantastic. Would definitely come back
Nice music and tall ceilings on main floor. Wooden seating is a little uncomfortable. Service was excellent. My server was very nice and helpful and despite it being busy he came by several times to see how I was doing. Food was ok. I had the duck ravioli and despite a busy plate it was very bland. I had the tiramisu dessert and that was just ok . Based on reviews I was expecting more punch to my meal and desserts. Perhaps it s better during lunch time. The pizzas looked real good as did some of the other pasta dishes. It s a toss-up if I go back, more due to the fact there s so many restaurants in the area to choose from. Lots of competition with tastier food.
My experience here, the good, the bad the ugly. The best thing my friend and ate was the shirmp in the frotto mistro, the resturant atmosphere was nice as well. The problems stated in ordering and ending while tasting the food. Ordered the fritto mistro and a drink, in 5 minutes one server said it wasnt available and another one said it is now. I then added the matta pizza no olives. From the cold sour dough bread to the drinks, and then my main food. The mistro fritto came with no dip, plus the calamari started off good until you continued eating it,salt salt and more salt. I dont know who thought to fry carrots, that was Disgusting. The tasteless, Bland pizza, like no seasoning or substance. The purple rain was nice the look at but drink was too strong for me, i wanted to ask for a drink change but no server. The inconsistent server was also a problem, my friend and i were ready to let around 6:50, no server until i flagged one down at 7:30. A server came over to take everything we didnt eat or drink, a manager came with my receipt, informed him about my drink and how i didnt like it, he was gracious to give me a discount of my food. The manager also really tried to give my friend and i a desert or coffee. The worst part was feeling like we were FORGOTTEN.He was really nice for that, tried to make a sour night sweet, we declined the offer, and about $100 dollars later we lefted. I personally would not recommend this place for dinner, it looks like their know for desert, maybe go for that and stay down stairs.
The atmosphere here is cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, the latte could have been warmer it was more on the chilly side.
Pretty average.
food, atmosphere, furnishings are all above average, Customer service is hit and miss very transactional, lacking in genuine hospitality from counter-service at times, Food
Went for lunch with colleagues. It was a very popular spot in the are and I quickly found out why. The food was very tasty and the price was reasonable. The service staff were friendly and attended to us in a quick and efficient manner. I will be returning.
I recently went here for brunch on a weekend and it was absolutely sublime. It was a beautiful sunny morning and the the range of coffees and spiked coffees is limitless. I loved all their croissants (cornetta, Nutella) even the bombolines were too good. The cocktails are handcrafted and taste so much better than any other cafe. The focaccias are great too & one can try some really well cooked flatbreads also the interiors are really upscale feels like sitting in Manhattan. Love love love Vegetarian options: Loads of vegan and vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: The labels on the food items are well descriptive Kid-friendliness: It is I believe
A very pleasant place with a really good cleanliness, nothing to envy of a Roman cleanliness. Absolutely recommended, beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff
Their pastas are so fresh and delicious! Cooked to perfection. If you are going around lunch time, please make sure to make a reservation.
Great food, very good atmosphere will definitely going back again
This place has a lot to offer; freshly made sandwiches, pasta and pizza, pastries and croissants, coffee. They open up at 8am, so suitable for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can choose from high chairs for a quick bite from their pizza and sandwich bar, or you could sit in the patio or inside and enjoy a full meal. We ordered Insalata Di Cavolo salad and Cavatelli Ai Frutti Di Mare which was a seafood pasta. They were both fresh and delicious. I do recommend the salad.
Disgraceful service! There are so many great cafes in the area to tolerate this. Ridiculous! One client asked what kind of cream is in cornetto (croissant) the server looks at her blurred and says « I don t know » , they made a mistake in my order which I highlighted and both servers looked at me like I am speaking some alien language. Not worth coming here I should have trusted the reviews! First and last time!
Went for a group dinner with coworkers a few weeks ago. While the ambiance is great and service was friendly, I was shocked to see there wasn t a single vegan friendly main dish on the menu. (In contrast, Terroni offers a separate menu for diners who are GF or vegan with several options). Unacceptable for downtown Toronto in 2024. My coworkers (not vegan) also shared they found the food very average, and of lower quality than Terroni. It s a shame as the space is lovely. Won t be back.
Good
The place wasn t too crowded at the time we visited so the seats next to us were left empty. We saw a mouse coming out from the bottom of the sofa, to have a bite of crumbles left below the table next to us. I screamed because it was pretty close to my foot ( ). Not sure if mouse/rat appearing in dining area is common in the city but given that the workers there didn t even flinch from the scene it at least seems to be a pretty common incident at this place. One of the worker said mice can sometimes come in from streets when door opens but I don t think anyone would buy that. Health inspection required here. Watch your feet (and stomach) if you want to visit!
Food and coffee can be improved.
Beautiful interior with a cozy modern feel. Love getting my americano here - tastes just like in Europe! I ve also tried the sandwiches and pizzas and both were always fresh and delicious.
Good service, delicious food, nice atmosphere!)
Great fresh pasta
I had a ballet performance to watch and came here for dinner beforehand. The cappucino and lattes were nice but I expected more from the entrees. There is seating on every level of this location. It makes a nice date spot.
This coffee shop offers an amazing ambiance and exceptional cooking. I loved my experience there! However, if youre looking for a coffee fix, make sure to go before 4 pm, as it transforms into more of a wine shop in the evenings. Overall, highly recommended for a cozy coffee and culinary delight!
The food is always good here, this is my second time visiting and definitely won t be the last. Servers are friendly and helpful. Recommend dishes would be duck ravioli and risotto. They have great cocktails and have an amazing patio for the summer, good place to spend some time with friends and family.
This was good at the start but its now utterly in the toilet. They seem to convert more and more of the communal seating area to table service and that takes away from the experience. Definitely wont be coming back anymore.
Excellent service. Andrea was very kind, attentive and very cheerful with us. We will be back!
We had a client lunch here, highly recommended excellent service and very good food
Went out as a party of 10 for a birthday dinner and staff were very accommodating. Place is visually appealing and has a relaxing vibe. Server was very polite, food came out in a timely manner and there were no issues with any dishes. Only minor complaint is the Bombolin dessert was a little dry, other than that this place was great for an evening out!
