Very bad meat not fresh at all..they heated the meat and served us we had complained to the staff but they ignored my comments

Actually the staff very welcoming and helpful they served us the soup and the appetizers [starters]were very delicious but the shock were in the main course the briskets pan very bad wast fresh meat at all the warm it and served us as it is a fresh food or meat but the truth wasnt like this at all...even I had met tje chief and complained but he ignored my comments ...feel sorry to cheat customers ..

Food: huge portions, taste good Service: we asked for drinks, servant told us: we dont serve alcohol as the owner is muslim & this is a family friendly environment I dont think serving alcohol in a restaurant has anything to do with being family friendly We asked the servant about food portions, she said its 1 LB of meat, I think its way more than that per serving, can easily feed 2 people, or maybe 3. We wouldn t order 2 different meals if we got the right information. Atmosphere: very small place & tables are too close with lots of noise, kids were loud in other tables, chef playing music in kitchen for himself, but no music in the dining area washrooms very not clean. I do not recommend dining in.

Nice restaurant, most of their food is really good. The smoked chicken is phenomenal, and the Mac and cheese and sliders are also really good. The only negative was the brisket. It was just okay. It came out room temperature, so for a place that prides itself on being a smokehouse, that was disappointing. Service was really good and the ambiance was also nice. 3 stars for the brisket, 5 stars for the other items, so an average of 4 stars.

Went for dinner on Saturday 23 Nov 2024. Interior decor is far below McDonald/Tim Hortons. Our server informed us that there was no beef brisket that evening, so we ordered the Experience Platter for two, with beef ribs and lamb shoulder. It comes with 1LB of beef ribs and 1LB of lamb shoulder. Total meat on the platter was less than 1 LB combined. Most of the weight was bones. Coleslaw and macaroni salad tasted weird and the Chimichurri was awful. Tried to order a beer....nope. No alcohol here. Smoked corn on the platter was cold day old and mushy. Sliced white toast bread was also a side....wow! The only thing that was remotely good was the corn bread and garlic bread. HOW CAN YOU CHARGE MORE THAN THE KEG AND SERV ABSOLUTE GARBAGE?!?! Might I suggest changing your menu, because western style smoked BBQ....you dont know Jack Schitt I do not recommend and wont go back.

We have went there after casa Loma visit , the restaurant is not serving alcohol but it s a must try hidden gem in Toronto , don t miss there burger or brisket , the Mac and cheese was very delicious and must try as well , you can secure table easily when you are there before 4 pm otherwise you need to make a pre booking , parking is available on the adjacent small roads and will be 5 min walk

Ive been here a handful of times and I have to say both the service and the food were amazing. Our server Mohammed was extremely attentive. The quality of food was amazing. Great flavors and portions. This place has definitely become one of our favorites.

The service was really good but the brisket and the wings were a bit dry. The honey ice cream cornbread is so good!

The brisket seemed to have been frozen beforehand and did not taste nor look right. The mac & cheese seemed stale as well. Was disappointed and not worth the high premium price at all.

Honestly whoever is working tonight is an angel, I love her, pay her more. I came in looking just to get a late lunch and had an incredible customer service experience followed by the truly insane in the right way party fries (get them with a side of gravy trust meeeee). The price and portions really are worth it & I m thoroughly satisfied. Tbh just based on aesthetics I probably wouldn t have tried it as a restaurant but it was close and highly rated - I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back.

My fiancé wanted to try out the krabby patty meal here and so we decided to give this place a try. I am completely disappointed because of how long we had to wait for our burgers. I ve been waiting for an hour now as I write this review. Servers never bother to come and update us on our food or at least bring us our starters. This is the worst dining experience I ve had in a while. Not sure if I would come back tbh. The staff doesn t even care about their customers. I understand if they re short staffed but at least come update us instead of letting us sit here for an hour.

Mohammed was very kind and amazing I really appreciated his service and the owner was extremely kind and respectful as well, the food was a 10/10. I m speaking from dubai standard.

This place is super cute and the food is pretty okay, but I stressed to my server I had a severe allergy multiple times and when my food came the allergy note had been not only ignored or unseen by the kitchen, he did not check it himself and put the food infront of me. Had I not opened my sandwich I would have not seen it. He didnt even apologize he just seemed surprised. I just wouldnt go back.

A nice halal restaurant, and the staff are very attentive. The hamburger is very delicious, but I didnt like that the bread served with the meat was toast bread.

Do not waste your money on this restaurant. We ordered The Experience with Short Ribs and the Lamb Shank. For a place that is charging in its price range you would expect things to be made in-house or at least you would purchase something that looks like it was made in-house. The bread served with the food was quite literally sliced bread that you can get at the supermarket. I have no problems with sliced bread when Im at a breakfast place, but when Im paying 3 times that amount its infuriating. You have some audacity to be serving sliced white bread to your customers as a part of a prix fixe dinner menu. Go to Cobbs, buy a baguette and serve that instead next time. The pickles were the crinkle cut type you can get at Walmart for 2 dollars, and the pickled cabbage/radish is the type that typically gets put in your 15 dollar shawarma. Again, serving this at a restaurant is insulting to your customers. The cornbread was fine and the lamb shank was decent. Short Ribs lacked flavor. All the salads tasted prepackaged. The best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes which had quite a nice gravy. Staff also seemed quite inexperienced/incompetent. We were seated for 5-10 minutes before someone offered me and my partner water. It also took us another 10 minutes until we flagged down a waitress to take our order. The restaurant was surprisingly busy, but not busy enough to warrant the long waits. There was also a sticky grease/soap stain on my plate. I didnt eat with it and I asked the waitress for a new one.

I had the pulled beef sandwich and was quite disappointed with it. The bun was like a grocery store quality one. The pulled beef was overly greasy with not as much flavor. The curly fries were good, though. Also, everything on the menu was halal - greatly appreciated! We were a group of 3, and the server was great. She was attentive and helpful when we asked for recommendations. The place was nice and clean and not too busy when we went (5-7pm). Overall, given the taste and quality of food, i dont think it was worth it and would probably not visit again. Dietary restrictions: Everything on the menu is halal. This was a great perk to have!

A friend and I were looking for a decent smokehouse to try out and after being a big fan of BBQ spots, decided on this place. When we got to the front, we were met by the host. He didn t seem there and he smoke really low, to the point you could barely hear him. They sat us down near the window with other guests. The atmosphere was quiet and nice which we like. We were met by the waitress who seemed rush and didn t introduce herself. She dropped off some water, took our order and disappeared for the rest of the evening. We settled for The Experience where you get 3 salads, 2 sides and 2 entrees. Our food arrived in batches. We tried the salads, the Caesar salad was pretty good but the macaroni salad had way too much mayo and had no taste in it. The Cole slaw was pretty bland as well. Our 2 sides showed up later which were macaroni and cheese and curly fries. We had ordered the baked beans originally but they didn t have any left. The macaroni and cheese was cold and bland as well. The cheese was pretty much cheese sauce mixed with the macaroni with a little bit of garnish. Tasted very out of the box . KD tastes better than what was served. We eventually had the server take back our Mac n Cheese and had they make a new one that was much warmer and tasted a bit better than the previous Mac n Cheese order. The curly fries were good but there was barely any actual curly fries, just bits of bent fries. Eventually we had the mains come out, we ordered the lamb shoulder and the braised biscuit. Both of our entrees arrived cold. The braised beef was very dry but was decent in taste. It was quite decent in portion size though. The lamb shoulder was portioned extremely small, maybe half a cup of meat? Compared to the braised beef portion it was small. I was surprised to find there wasn t much dessert items. Only choices were vanilla and strawberry ice cream or sweet bread. Since we had The Experience it included the ice cream. We both ordered strawberry and it was quite good. An OK end to our night We had to order water for the table as the server just disappeared and didn t show up until the end of our meal. We left an abysmal tip for and abysmal service. Other than the place looking appealing, that s all it was. The food wasn t up to par with my expectation for a smoke house. The only thing we liked were the Caesar salad and the curly fries. The braised beef was OK and so was the shoulder but the portion sizes and lack of taste turned us off. I give this place a 2 star. It has for improvement in all its categories and I hope they do better in the future.

Food with substance. Doesnt look much, but I couldnt finish it

I had the pulled beef sandwich here which was excellent! The brioche bun was soft and fresh and the beef was tender. What made the sandwich delicious was its seasoning. Very well seasoned. The flavour wasn t mild. The Cesar salad on the side had a little too much mayonnaise for my taste. It was still edible and fresh.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice meal and restaurant experience. We thought of going to the keg, but I said let s try out this place. The hostess had an attitude, and service was horrible. Not the best experience at all. The food was alright but the potato s had a weird taste to them and there was no way I was going to eat them. Overall a bad experience and I wouldn t go back.

The food here is not great. We had the Nashville chicken sandwich - this is not an actual Nashville sandwich. It was covered in franks red hot/buffalo sauce and had way too much spicy mayo it was dripping out of the burger even picking it up. The chicken was also very small - as small as the palm of my hand. The Mac and cheese had a good creaminess to it, but also had a certain spice, similar to buffalo sauce. The fries were plain, not very well seasoned/salted. We wouldn t return here overall.

Half hearted attempt at bbq

Food was really good and the portion size is huge, I had to take a doggy bag ! Brisket was excellent, juicy and well cooked. The server was nice and available. Really good experience

Pretty disappointing experience all around. The ambiance lacked attention to detail which are all easy fixes (frames from IKEA that still had the plastic film on them, cheap and pixelated prints of old art, pop and rock music from the early 2000s Billy Talent at dinner? Really?). I also hate a QR code menu at a sit down restaurant. And they don t serve alcohol! Everything just felt slapped together and really cheap. The quality of the food was not great. I got the beef ribs and they served me 2 ribs with Caesar salad with ingredients from the grocery store, including the croutons and dressing. It was served warm and with the amount of fat on the ribs, it was off-putting. I was still hungry after my meal, which should not be the case after bbq. It just felt like a meal I could make at home which defeats the purpose of going out and at the price we paid for the meal, it was not worth it at all. The most disappointing.

The food was very UNDERwhelming. We ordered the brisket and ribs, both lacked flavor and tenderness. The meat was cold and tasteless. There was no flavor from either the BBQ or sauces. It did not seem fresh. Mac and Cheese was some of the worst I ve ever tried. The bathrooms in the restaurant were dirty and not comfortable to use. After spending 130$ I would not recommend this restaurant.

I came to the host and asked for a table for 1. I am in town for work. Host scoffed and asked again like he misheard, asked how many in my party. I said again, 1. He scoffed again and said no no, we dont have tables for 1. I asked about takeout because I paid for parking and he basically blew me off. My dear, I am from Texas. No BBQ place, except for apparently in the GTA, is gonna blast club music and act like a reso-only high end fine dining palace. Yall can keep it. Blows chunks. Never again.

Honest review: We followed BlogTO in naming this place as one of the best bbq joints in Toronto. A group of 6 of us did the premium experience which was $65pp. Food: Starters: Caesar Salad, Coleslaw, macaroni salad. Pretty good and your typical standard flavour. Portions for 6 people were not great. Main: Brisket was overcooked, had no smoke ring and no bite to it. Seasoning was okay. Back Ribs were probably the best thing of all the proteins. The smoked chicken was dry. Small sausages (like red hots) were overloaded with cumin. Overall not great. Mac & Cheese was okay. Corn was blanched with a little char. No salt, bland. Beans were undercooked to tears. Curly fries were great but tasted like frozen mc Cain. The sliders were really good. Wings were just tossed with a buffalo sauce. They ran out of cornbread which is part of the premium experience, but still charged us full price. Service took a very long time to even get something as simple as a Diet Coke. Wouldn t come here again.

This place was beyond amazing. Our server, Atul, was great at his job he visited our table frequently but without bothering us. He also had attentive customer service. The brisket sliders and fries were amazing. We tried the mango strawberry lemonade which was also really good! Came back again to try the ribs and sausages, honestly wasn t a huge fan. Was very dry.

The food was okay. The quantiity of the food was not adequate for the price or party size as mentioned. The portion size was very small. The starters were ridiculously small . The food was extremely (x2-3) more expensive. The Nine yard (230$) on the menu was ridiculously small. Portions of meat on it was like starters and they charge for that 230$ . I would not recommend to anyone. Extremely disappointed.

Came here with our friends on a recommendation and this place did not disappoint! The food was flavourful and tasty! We ordered the whole nine yards platter and that was enough for 4 adults as some was still left over. My favourite was pulled beef and the brisket! The staff was friendly and courteous and the place was clean.

Really nice small cosy halal restaurant, with lovely stuff, all the lady waitresses were super friendly and kind, the food was amazing, we tried their brisket mac n cheese, yummiest i have ever tasted, so creamy and rich with flavour, we order the backyard burger, i havent tasted it but my husband loved it so much, the prices are higher that the menu on the photos in the reviews, and we thought it was overpriced to be honest. But we will go back definitely, not as much as we would ve if the prices were lower though.

The food is fine and the staff is friendly, but the portions are small and the prices are very high - in the area of $20 for an average-sized burger. Paper menus are not available, so I hope you brought your phone. The bill includes an obligatory 18% tip, so good luck if you wanted to pay less or are against the tipping culture.

Smokehouse that only has 3 meats available. When we reached there at a normal dinner time (store was not packed) they were out of lamb, leaving only chicken and beef. On top of that the 2 choices did not taste like they came from a smoker, both brisket and chicken were dry and flavorless. Please go to an actual smokehouse.

The best of the best briskets and ribs i have ever had!!! They have to magic of brining flavor to the meat!!!

I wouldve given it a better rating had the bathrooms been better kept and the service was not efficient. Keeping of washrooms is telling of how clean the establishment is overall. Food was tasty however the smoked brisket was dryer than it should because it was not brisket, but more like a roast beef. The ceasar salad is tasty but plated and stuffed in a mini sized bowl where it all just ends up falling out-impractical. Some items are over priced. Portions are not bad. Music slightly too loud although atmosphere is comfy. Not sure I would return because of the washrooms.

I am a regular here. Had my birthday here last year and my bachelor dinner the year before that. The food is consistently fantastic it never fails. I recommend everything highly its all great. Sad to see their platters changed up but oh well cant have it all. I was here roughly 2 weeks ago and still was blown away by the food and service of this place. All the staff are friendly and helpful. You can literally see the chefs in the back doing their thing to make sure youre looked after (compliments to them, seriously). If I could give more stars, I would.

My family and I went back to this spot for the third time on Thursday, March 21 at 9pm. Maria, our server, was awesome and really knew her stuff. If you visit a place three times, it means you really like the food there. I absolutely loved their chicken the first two times because it was seasoned so well. But, this time around, it was a letdown. Unlike before when everything tasted great, the chicken smelled bad this time, like it was 100% old, and even the beef didnt smell right. Not sure what happened, but we couldnt eat what we ordered. We quickly paid and ended up leaving about 45 minutes after we got there. I don t think so i will be back again.

Great advice and even better food. Was impressed by everything. The the beef back ribs were insane as were the little sausages. The one thing that I didnt love was the corn side. It was waaay overdone and soggy but everything else more than made up for it.

My boyfriend and I came to the restaurant a few days ago for the first time after reading mixed reviews we decided to give it a try. Shortly after being seated, our server came to get a drink order when we asked for the drink menu she told us that they didn t have their license yet and they were unable to serve alcohol, which is strange because this location has been open for a few years now. We ordered a half a rack of ribs with a side of mac & cheese and curly fries. She informed us that they were all out the curly fries so we ordered regular french fries and a brisket burger. When our starter Caesar salad came we both instantly loved it. Perfect amount of dressing parm with a little hint of lemon juice. After taking a few bites, I noticed a big black hair in the bowl!!! We let our server know And she apologized and took it away. Once the rest of the food arrived the portions looked OK and everything looked pretty good but we were disappointed yet again. The mac & cheese looked incredible, but had zero flavour and tasted like a very watered down cheese whiz and had a floury consistency. The brisket on the burger was dry and we got sweet potato fries instead of regular french fries which we didn t mind but still not what we ordered. Halfway through the meal, our server brought a replacement Caesar, but we were so turned off. We couldn t eat it. We would ve left, but we both felt bad as we had both already ordered and still wanted to give it a try. I m wishing now that we did. We looked over into the kitchen and noticed that none of the cooks were wearing hair nets, which would probably explain the hair in our food. I worked in the service industry for several years and I totally understand that things happen, but to not have a manager apologize or check out our table or comp a drink (wait, they don t have drinks) or something to show a gesture was really off putting and the kind of customer service that will not be bringing us back or recommending to anyone considering trying this spot out for the first time. Save your money and go anywhere else.

We were a group of 5 and we ordered the whole 9 yards platter, enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service is great and our server Ambika was extremely polite, professional and always around. I had a lot of questions regarding the platter she had knowledge of each and everything. Highly satisfied with the services. The platter was huge and enough for almost 5 people. highly recommend.

I came here with a couple of friends for the first time to try their meats and sides. We shared a brisket plate, curly fries, mac n cheese, and cornbread. It tasted fantastic for my friends but I prefer some more spices. It did get busy pretty quickly and space is just slightly cramped but service was still top notch. Our waitress Maria handled our table great along with the rest of the restaurant with how occupied and busy the place was. I ll definitely be coming back with my family to try out the other plates.

This is the worst BBQ I ve ever had. We tried the brisket, short rib and Nashville Chicken Sandwich. All the meat was dry and tasted like eating a blanket. The macaroni salad was tasteless and undercooked. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and they didn t even have ice for the drinks.

I don t write reviews but my experience at the DuPont location was pretty horrible. I was sat at a table snug tightly between 2 beams and smacked my head very hard. No one noticed and the customer service got even worse throughout the evening. We were one of 2 couples at the restaurant and our server couldn t split a bill or take our order. I got the Sheppard pie which ended up being mashed potatos and beans. I left the restaurant hungry and with a major headache. Don t bother.

Called in ahead of time to see if we needed reservations because we were coming from Woodbridge. Girl over the phone said we did not need any, but to let us know that a few items were not available off the menu as they had run out from the night before. I told her it was fine and that we would be there in half an hour. We get there and I m waiting with my husband for over 5 min without anyone approaching us. I keep making eye contact with people and no one comes. Finally after 10 minutes the girl with the pig tail braid informed us that there were no seats available. I reiterate what was told over the phone and the girl lets us know that they gave the tables away for walk ins. I asked her why would she tell us we didn t need a reservation. She informed us that they actually don t do over the phone reservations. If this information was given to me at the time that I called then I would ve NEVER made the trip down to Mississauga. I know that spots are never guaranteed but the girl at the front should have communicated better and not have said that a spot would be available to us. I was actually coming to try the food out because we wanted to host a bday party and rent the whole facility out. Again, I know spots are never guaranteed but nothing should ve been promised to us if you guys aren t able to guarantee spots. Such a huge waste of time to drive down .

We walked in hearing the hype regarding the store. The lady in the front put us on a waiting list we were told to come back in about 45 mins. We came back once we got a text notification that our table was ready but unfortunately had to wait another 20 mins because there was an error on their end. As we were about to get seated one of the kitchen staff came out and told the lady not to take any more order, we were baffled at what we heard. Fortunately she talked to the kitchen staff and sorted it out and we got our food, but going through this whole process was a very unpleasant experience. The food on the other hand was decent. Unfortunately some of the items we wanted to try had run out. Will come back but giving it some time until they figure out their system. I will say the lady was kind to us throughout this process.

Great place. Street Parking. Did not need a reservation Saturday at 5, but started to really get busy 630. We shared a Brisket plate $45, which was a generous amount of food. Amazing Mac and cheese but Our Brisket was a bit over cooked and dry. The table beside us said they always get the big shared sampler for a party of 4, it was a lot of food that looked wonderful. *They dont serve alcohol* great portions!!

This place is hilarious. We ordered brisket... Sold out before 8 pm. We ordered short ribs, they replaced it with baby back ribs. The brisket sliders were closer to wonder bread with slices of thick baloney looking burger. The chicken tenders were drier than a desert lizards butt. Im embarrassed for posting this review and Im even more embarrassed for this place. Sorry for the honest review.

The worst brisket possible i ever had, really dry. They also missed a whole burger missed from the order, and charged for and included in receipt.

We heard about this place on tiktok, and we knew we wanted to try it out as everything is Halal. I went there with my family (4 people) and we were served by Abdullah. As a first time vistor he recommended some great selections for us. We got 4 burgers (Backyard burger, Pulled beef, Nashville, and Holy hen) and in addition we also got 1lb of pulled brisket. Everything was super delicious and I highly recommend this place to everyone, especially meat lovers.

Had my anniversary dinner at backyard Smokehouse. Tried their premium platter, service was top notch and food was delicious. The only downside is that the place is not spacious enough. Rest was all great!

This place absolutely sucks. Ruined our evening! They didn t have 75% of their menu items. They just kept disappointing us with more and more bad news. These people don t know how to run a business. Never have I ever had a worse experience in my life. It was especially embarrassing because I brought 10 people along with me and made reservations a week in advance. Thanks for wasting my time.

Was looking forward for more than a week to have dinner here. We showed up for our evening reservation and were told that the kitchen had run out of almost all menu items. This experience has totally ruined our experience and left us scrambling to find another place to eat at the last minute. Totally pathetic!

Service was amazing. However, I ordered short ribs - the presentation was great with its sides, but the meat was pretty underwhelming in regards to flavour. Amazing fall off the bone texture, but I felt like it could ve been seasoned much more.

We came here on a really crowded evening without a reservation. Although it took awhile to get seated, the staff handled everything really well. The service here was very attentive and excellent! :) The staff constantly came around to refill our water and ask if we needed anything. The food itself was fantastic. We loved the brisket, burgers, corn bread, macaroni salad, and the lemonade was really yummy too! I would definitely consider coming back here.

I would like to start by saying this was absolutely the WORST dining experience I have ever had. First, we waited 2 HOURS for seating in an area the size of a prison cell. With no chairs. The staff seemed to forget that we exist as they took on more bookings despite it being already full. We were told the maximum wait would be 30 mins, had we known that it would take this long we would ve never waited. Second, as we got seated to order and they had missing menu items. An utter disappointment. We decided to order the 9 yard in order to experience a bit of everything and I was met with chicken as dry as the Sahara and sausages that were somehow worse than Zabihah halal sausages at Walmart. Our total bill was $236.00 Never mind the time and effort we wasted. Do yourself a favour. Don t go.

The brisket was so dry I couldn t swallow it and I couldn t even finish my meal. Worst customer service too. The brisket was the main dish and I hated it but everything else like the fries, Mac and cheese were okay. I still can t believe I spent $50 for that.

Mixed feelings about this place. 7 out of 10. Got the brisket plate delivered and both the meat and Mac and cheese were excellent. Unfortunately, the baked beans was more like watery chili and the Caesar salad was missing the Caesar.

Honestly, me and my cousin came here yesterday and were very excited because it was a halal spot we haven t tried in Toronto. The server took a while to initially greet us but we didn t think much of it. She took our order but they were out of most of the stuff we wanted which we understood. When they brought out our appetizer there was no cutlery. The server asked someone to bring us cutlery and the girl grabbed my knife from the blade with her bare hand. I thought that was a bit gross but instead of outing her I politely told my server I dropped my knife (even though I didn t) and asked for a new one. She came back and told me there were no more knives and that there was nothing she could do as the utensils have to soak before being washed. So I had no knife the rest of my meal. Then we ordered dessert to share which came out with one fork. So me and my cousin shared the one fork to eat cheesecake passing it back and forth. As we didn t want to ask for another fork after the knife situation. When it came to payment we paid the bill and each tipped 18% which must ve come to a shock to the server because she became the kindest most attentive after that. We were the only black Muslim women there and watched everyone else get everything they needed. Including a table that received garlic mayo when I was told at the beginning of my meal that there wasn t any. Anyways this was just our experience and the food was yummy. But the service just made it a not so nice experience for the both of us.

Felt the brisket was extremely dry. Needed some seasoning. The first brisket was so dry and chewy but the staff were friendly and made a new brisket that was quite juicy but overall felt it needed some seasoning. The beef back ribs were amazing

Super unimpressed, service was very subpar and sort of felt like it was their first day on the job. Atmosphere felt super awkward and quiet (not per say the restaurants fault for being empty but just felt awkward). I havent eaten beef in years and ordered the chicken sliders, only to realize half way through eating that I had in fact been served beef. Reached out to management that night via email and havent heard anything back. That being said, food was yummy and the smoked mac and cheese was great. The kitchen staff is very talented! Waitress & front of house, not so much

I am so disappointed with my visit yesterday. We have been going here since years and used to be our favourite spot for brisket. Upon arrival we noticed that the menu in itself has changed. We used to love the doubles but they ve removed it and replaced with something that would cost more than triple for 2 people. Still, because we loved the food, we decided to go with the brisket order. But we were in for a surprise. The brisket was so so dry that we couldn t have it. The Mac and cheese used to be amazing but wasn t even tasty anymore. We paid more price for less than half the options, dry meat and tasteless food. I am so sad because it used to be one of our favourite places. I don t know if the chef changed or management changed but everything has become bad.

Order the ribs and the brisket - soft, tender and delicious. They ran out of curly fries so didnt get to try but the corn is a nice side. Chicken sandwich and wings had too much sauce on them. Perfect, nice ambiance and brisket

Came here yesterday for the first time and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The part that caught me and my husbands attention was the 100% halal since it s not easy to find a restaurants that caters everything halal. Food came fast and hot. Server was really nice. This is a great place if you re looking for somewhere new and amazing to go to.

Id love to recommend this place, but after spending a while determining and placing our order, it was suddenly cancelled without explanation.

This place is a gem, and even though it is a small restaurant, it offers the kind of halal southern barbecue experience, Muslim consumers can only dream of! The beef back ribs were succulent and falling off the bone. The beef brisket burger was absolutely delicious, juicy and saucy! The curly fries were the surprise hit of the day, just had to order another one to fully satisfy the craving for the crispy side! Our server was attentive and extremely courteous! Overall an unforgettable gastronomic experience! Highly recommended!!!

Small but might smoke house

No brisket on a Sunday long weekend at 5PM (and the restaurant opens at 3 or 4) at a restaurant that is known for briskets. How?

Visited this place with my kids. Staff was nice and accommodated us without reservation. We ordered beef ribs with nashville Chicken Sandwich and brisket mini burgers. Beef ribs lacked tastes and was very blant. Nashville Chicken Sandwich was very sour. There a better options in GTA for beef brisket and nashville Chicken Sandwich.

The food was honestly not that great from a barbeque perspective. Meat was hit or miss. Chicken & the skin were more flavorful, but the brisket was very bland with no traces of smoke/bbq flavor. Would say some of the sides were actually better at times. Service was okay.

After getting a positive response, I reached the restaurant at 7PM. When we placed the order we were told that theyre out of Brisket....I literally wanted to get up and leave. I dont understand how can a restaurant be out of their main menu item so early in the evening, that too repetitively. The service has also gone down on each visit. To be fair, the food is still decent but I will definitely not be coming back to this establishment.

Our table ordered brisket and then 10 mins later the waiter came back and said they re out of brisket and to order something else Not sure how this is a BBQ place if you are out of one of the main meals.They were also out of corn bread and sweet potato fries. They need to properly plan their days ahead. Also sausages were not as expected they looked like pepperette and tasted like kabobs. Overall food was tasty, wished they had the brisket and actual sausages. But definitely based on the experience, not worth the money.

We ordered take out, when I got home the fries was missing, I didnt go back because I couldnt be bothered. We got the rib and wings and its the worst tasting wings and rib I ever tasted, this place is not what I expected of a rib place.

Ordered Nashville Chicken and baked beans. Nashville was pretty good but look at my baked beans....come on...1/3 full and the rest was runny liquid. Worst baked beans at a BBQ Ive ever had. (Wont let me post a pic)

First experience in this restaurant: I LOVE IT! We took the 2 meats / 2 side dishes to share between two people. The meat was very tender and tasty, the waiter very welcoming and the place nice. A favorite for this premiere in Toronto.

Had the best cream of mushroom soup and mac and cheese here. The quality of everything is amazing, extremely flavourful and made fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the servers are really nice and kind and answer everything thoroughly

Best halal smoked meat Ive had!

We got a couple different Mac and cheese s (brisket and pesto) which were all delicious and a really big portion size. The menu had quite a few options. My only complaint is that they seem to be out of a lot of things when we arrived (around 8pm on a Wednesday).

We went there a year ago and it was AMAZING, this time we brought some relatives and it was embarrassing. Firstly, brisket was really dry, they messed up our order and didn t have ribs which was informed to us once they brought our meal replacing it with chicken. Secondly, I had to go to the washroom to wash my hands. The toilette was downstairs, however the stairs were EXTREMELY steep and it was dark, due to the very bad lighting. Thus, I fell downstairs and yet my back and my knees are still hurting so bad. When I was a child I had a knee accident and now I am limping a bit due to my back pain. Although one staff member asked me if I was ok from afar, it was an embarrassing and terrible experience.

The best Smokehouse In Canada

This is a great option for halal BBQ and smoked meat. The fries you see in the pictures were good - but I would prefer more sauce on them. The platter for two people was really good as well. Brisket was cooked well, and the potatoes, garlic bread and coleslaw were really good. The corn was okay - filled with butter but no flavour. The sausages were a no to me. Rubbery, dry, and lacking flavour. Finally the brisket sliders were the highlight. I would come back here just for the brisket sliders. They were out of this world!

I seriously dont know how this place has high rating. The food was absolutely horrible! The portions were extremely small and we asked if they were enough for 2 people to eat. The brisket was dry and tough. They only played Camilla Cabello and the washrooms were disgusting! They looked like they hadnt been cleaned in months. Seriously dont come here

The place had so much potential, unfortunately it was a let down. Not that many restaurants offer halal BBQ options, but they did so went there with high hopes. But didnt even come close to the expectations. Went there on. Tuesday evening, and at 6pm they didnt have anymore brisket, not sure how considering the restaurant opens at 4pm. The portion size was not great, patties in the slider was much smaller than the bun, and the hand-cut fries are simply frozen fries. Service wasnt great either, gave us a table where we could not get in or out without interrupting the next table even though I reserved ahead and plenty of tables were available. Would not recommend.

Its one of the best Halal bbq restaurants in Toronto. The food was fresh and so delicious. The atmosphere was good. Friendly and professional customer service.

The service at this location was very well done. The servers were polite and accommodating and the twix milkshake was a hit. I would definitely recommend coming here and trying out the options in their menu.

Backyard Smokehouses distinctive business style appeals to me. Customer service was exceptional, professional and entertaining. The appetizers consisted of a variety of delectable salads. The smoked meat and chicken I ordered were delicious, demonstrating the managements level of quality experience and professionalism. I highly recommend going to such a lovely restaurant.

Some of the worst food ever!!! How is it possible that a BBQ spot doesnt sell corn bread? The wings were disgusting the kaleslaw has no kale and is rancid. The mac and cheese has mushroom soup in it to make it creamy its vileeeeee. The food is awful I would never eat here again. I dont understand the hype its disgusting!!!!

An unassuming storefront but with a homey and delicious menu. We ordered a variety of Mac and cheese and some brisket platters. Unfortunately a few of the items we wanted to order were out of stock (that being said we did come towards the end of an evening). Decent portions and good taste. Also, get the fried pickles. Vegetarian options: Mac and cheese and fried pickles are your friend

One of the best burgers I ve tried in Toronto. The brisket also tastes amazing and is very tender, and the portion is good enough for two. One of my favourite spots in the area Nice and helpful staff Always get the mustard dip, its amazing with their beef brisket.

We were excited for a halal smokehouse experience but was disappointed that a simple Mac and cheese was the highlight of the night. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was enjoyable, but the food was bland. We ordered a brisket platter, beef back platter, and an order of short rib. It started off poorly as a lot of the menus items we requested were out of stock/unavailable, it also didn t help that the online menu was different from the menu we were given in the restaurant. Out of all the food we ordered, the sides were all good (the Mac and cheese was delicious) but the brisket and short rib were bland with barely any smoky flavour. The beef back ribs were enjoyable. I m not going to go further into the food because as far as smoked meat goes this was a huge let down. The store wasn t busy but without even requesting the bill we were given the bill (felt like we were being kicked out). We were quietly trying to enjoy our dinner, we were not there for long or loitering in anyway, so not sure why we were suddenly handed the bill. Would have loved to review the dessert but we did not even get a chance to order dessert.

1st time going after seeing them multiple times on tiktok, food was ok, I didnt like that food didnt come together I got my sandwich finished it and got my fries after.... the mac and cheese wasnt good at all ( it was cold). No one asked how we were doing or cleared any plates as they finished. I wouldnt go back, but will give the mississauga location a try.

We went got dinner in December 2023. The meats (brisket/lamb shank) were dry almost as if they were reheated from a previous day. So disappointing as we were so excited after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures. The price point was completely out of whack with the quality of the food. The servers were lovely and attentive. We are not overly picky and this was such a disappointment.

45 minute wait time to get seated, 30 minutes to get asked for order and 25 minutes for 1 order out of 4. Takes around a 5-10 minute gap between orders to get all food but it was overall good Parking: Lots of parking although long wait time Kid-friendliness: Kids menu

Backyard SmokeHouse is top class restaurant. The atmosphere and service is excellent. The meat is so soft it just slides in your mouth like a sled on snow. A beauty in the making. Furthermore, the staff offered complimentary deserts for my little sisters and wish her a jolly happy birthday. This restaurant is a dream, visit, and enjoy.

Food was excellent, I recommend the ribs, which were extremely juicy, moist and flavourful, paired with sweet potatoe fries, baked beans (or any of their many other sides) and youve got yourself amazing BBQ. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
