Buffalo shrimps really good. So was the octopus IPA. Server was pleasant and fast.

Decent outdoor patio, efficient service - not the friendliest, but professional and attentive. Cocktails with house made ingredients 10/10. Enjoyed the fish and chips but jealous of the pasta my mate ordered.

The Belsize is our go to neighborhood restaurant. The lamb shank is one of my faves. Never had a bad meal here. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

I had the Eggs Benedict today and it was so good. The NZ Sauvignon Blanc was also good. Will go again.

Just brought my elderly mom there. The lady who we ordered from spontaneously suggested a kids size version of the burger (which was delicious) for my mom. Fabulous!!! My mom for the first time in years ate a meal out without stressing she couldn t finish the meal, and she felt GOOD about that. Thank you.

Had an incredibly delicious, well-serviced, meal here - veggie sandwich was the size of my head(!!) with lots of fries (that I couldnt finish). Also got the French Onion Soup, which was herby without being overpowering. My partner got the chicken pot pie, and while I only had a bite, it was a great one - topped with flaky, buttery pastry. While we were there, the team was friendly, attentive, and all seemed to be having a good time working together. What one might call a special spot.

First time dining here. Cute little place with a good selection of beers and the food is good too. Awesome service!

Im just moving into the area, and this was an excellent luncheon spot! Sat on the patio and had a delicious Fishermans Pot Pie and a local brew.

Rude waitress at the patio (she is in her 60 s maybe). Horrible experience, I asked her in a friendly way please to clean our table because it was very dusty and I know that s the risk to be a outside but I didn t ask something impossible, she answered me so rude and brought us a clothe and left it on our table, she didn t even clean the table, finally I cleaned the table but my daughter was so surprised about her bad attitude, we wanted to expend a nice lunch but it wasn t because of her service.

The Belsize misses. Its sad because it has so much potential. I went with my dad today. I asked him what he would rate it out of 5. He said 2. I agree. When I arrived (my dad was already sitting down) there was no one at the entrance. When I sat down, the lady was practically sprinting across our table saying Ill take your drink order but I have a food order at another table. Okay lady. Respectfully dont both matter? We ordered food too. My burger was cold and the fries werent hot either. The burger tasted... rushed? My dads salmon eggs Benedict was cold too. He asked for it reheated. The server said something about the salmon being cold because it was smoked. What about the egg and toast though? They did discount something so that was good.

Great place for a casual meal. Food is good and consistent. A good menu for a pub with some variety which makes it a good choice for all tastes.

The waitress was lovely and helped us decide what to get.

We have been attending The Belsize Public House for years with family members for special occasions, as a friendly favourite. We keep on coming back in large part because the food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff friendly and helpful. (I ask lots of questions and they patiently provide me with the guidance I am seeking.) Great selection of beers, and the best pumpkin French onion soup anywhere, (partly because Ive never seen it anywhere else, but primarily because it is delicious.) Belsize is definitely on our short list of favourite restaurants.

Great food and amazing staff. They know my 98 year old grand father by name and treat him right.

Loved the food but the lady who served us, she was somewhat polite, but when I asked for my sunny side up eggs well cooked she gave me this horrible look and when the food arrived, my eggs were NOT well cooked would come back tho, nice place, good portions and price.

Excellent specials, the ribs were great. The beer selection is quite good, and from local brewers.

Good vibes good food Canadian stuff

Food was pretty good but a little overpriced for what it was. Small menu. Got a cocktail and it tasted super watered down, no flavor. However the service was good. I live in the area, but there are much better restaurants around.

The service has been horrendous every time I ve gone. The food is mediocre and greasy. Don t go. It s not the only quaint pub vibe in the area. Go support Granite Tide House instead.

This is my favourite neighborhood restaurant. I often go there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Not all in same day ) Love the Cobb salad, steak salad, fries, eggs Benedict, and fish n chips. The Fish specials on the chalk board are often very good as well.

This is worth taking a few minutes to share some positive feedback. Stumbled upon The Belisize Public House. From the moment we walked in - we were greeted with a smile and given the option to pick a table. Water served within minute of being seated and order for drinks was taken shortly after. (People in the restaurant business - this is how you do it). Decided to start off with the shrimp as an appertizer (unbelievably tasty and well done). Fun fact, there were 6 shrimps - perfect amount for 2 - nothing worst than going out and being served 5 schrimps for 2 people. Followed by the Smoked Trout salad - very good and a side of Sweet patato fries...the latter had us raving about it. By far the best Sweet Patato Fries in the city and will go as far as say North America. Never had them this good. Crispy, moist on the inside - warm and the side mayo just took it to another level. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable afternoon out on the patio (Aug.3/23) and excellent service. Will definately be back.

First time having lunch at this pub, it kind of has your typical pub feel but it is not like an English pub. I would say the best thing at this establishment is the value/proportions they serve. For the amount you pay, the sizes are huge, I could barely eat the entire plate. I got a jerk pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. There is nothing too special, just really simple, comforting food and big portions. Although my friend had one brunch item, I think it was called Eggs Purgatory, it was quite unique and looked really good. If I go back, I would get that.

Had a lovely dinner at the Belsize! Had the lamb shank special and was blown away. Excellent recommendation from our super friendly, amazing server (didn t catch her name, but the red hair girl)! Service was excellent and patio was great on a nice night.

This is a classic neighborhood pub with surprisingly excellent freshly prepared quality food, friendly service and a nice clientele. I love it.

Owned by the same man who owns Harbord House, I was expecting Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Well, the food was fantastic, (try the smores pie!) The service was ok,(she seemed Way to stressed out) and the atmosphere was well not great! The music was on so loud I couldnt really speak to the person I was with. Thats why it got 4/5 stars.

If youre looking for excellent service and delicious food this is the spot!

The food was great, drinks too. It was a lively place which was great but hard to have a conversation sometimes. Would come back again. Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp is a bit steep, the door was not automatic, but staff were quick to assist. No washroom on the restaurant level. Aisles were wide enough. Although not fully accessible, staff eager to assist and accommodate.

Enjoyed a good meal and great beer at the Belsize. Its a small place inside although theres a nice patio for summer dining. Recommend this place if youre looking for a relaxed night out.

Delicious neighbourhood spot! Every time I ve eaten in or gotten take out, it has been delicious. The lamb burger is incredible and so is the haddock panko sandwich! Service is top notch as well!

Had a staff party for 7 at the house. Broad enough menu to generate enthusiasm for the omnivores and vegetarians. Theres a well curated short draught beer list, shareable appetizers (the cauliflower cheese and ale dip was a highlight), and carefully executed pub mains. Steak salad and salmon tacos were solid, perfectly cooked and substantial.

This review is regarding the service (not food and drink). We asked if we could sit outside (it s not crazy to ask this, especially over the past two years lol) and the waitress made us feel very unwelcome by that request. She said we could sit outside but then she d have to put on her jacket every time she d deliver anything to our table.. it takes like 2 seconds to deliver anything outside (it was also 12 degrees and sunny). Great service

Terribly pushy waitress with absolutely no customer service skills. Unfortunately, never had a chance to get her name (lady with special kinda band on her arm). We will never come back to place that was suppose to be friendly, neighborhood pub.

Cozy place, great service and delicious food. You can sit inside or outside on the patio. Had the vegan burger from their specials menu which was fantastic. The butternut squash soup and sweet potato fries were also great. Ended the night with their sticky toffee pudding, which I highly recommend! Portion size on the fried dill pickles was very small (1 pickle split into 4 slices for $7). Overall a great local place, will surely go back.

Excellent food, fresh and great value

Finally tried this place after walking past several times. It is comfortable and cozy, good food and array of craft beers. We had a male server who was very friendly and attentive. I dropped one star for another member of staff who I think was the manager. After the server went home she took over our table and had a bit of an odd attitude, like we were inconveniencing her by being there. If we had kept the same server this would be a five star review!

Dropped in with my girlfriend for a quiet drink and had a wonderful time. One of those dont want to leave vibes. Staff were incredibly friendly and nice to talk to, prices were reasonable and the decor and relaxed atmosphere was really enjoyable. Definitely sit at the bar again and enjoy a berry beer.

Nice low key restaurant with a patio (thats not in the street) and bar. They serve fun cocktails and the chicken pot pie is pretty delicious. The only downside here is that the cocktails are brutally priced.

Staff was great here! Very friendly and willing to help. Unfortunately, there were a few things that werent so great. They felt overworked when we were there, as it was hard to get an order in or a refill on a soda (although they were very apologetic about the delays, it didnt change that there were delays). The food and the drinks were okay, but not very good, despite rather high prices (22 CAD for a cobb salad feels harsh when it wasnt a great salad, and the drinks were $18+ but werent stellar). Final small note, we were outside on the patio with dogs (which we love to see available!) but there was a big issue with the bees and hornets by us, but there wasnt much to be done about it, so it was a nuisance. In the end, we didnt hate our stay here, but its not something we would likely go back to unless the prices dropped or someone else wanted to eat here.

The burger, pot pie and mushroom soups were great! I would have given it a five stars. However, the $22 jerk pork sandwich was a huge disappointment with burnt tiny bits of pork on a thick pita and a tiny piece of fresh mango! Not much of any cold slaw either. I expected better.

Meal tasted stale, like it had been sitting in a fridge for a few days, gross. Awful burning smells coming from the kitchen. The food here has always been a disappointment. Surprised its so busy. Not worth it.

Went for dinner with a date, the place is still so charming. Festive lights adoring the windows and walk throughs. The soup special, chicken vegetable, was delicious followed by Smoked Trout Nicoise. Date had the chicken sandwich and raved about their fries. Staff very friendly and attentive. We did go a little early (just before 6pm) to beat the Friday night crowd, it did get busy but they were flexible and it had a good flow so wait was minimal. (Previous visit) Awesome place for lunch. Find the food excellent and price is good too. Service is quick and friendly. Recommend the cheese cauliflower dip. It is amazing. The place does look like pub but it has a nicer feel. Worth going if you are looking for something familiar, such a burger and fries, but they have other foodie offerings too.
