I look white but i am of a south asian descendant and i understand bengali and this server whose name is Masud, from my information, he made a bad comment about my appearance in bengali right after he took our food order I didn’t confront because i was with my friend. and he would also badmouth other guests which I heard. It’s terrible… overall other staff were nice and friendly. We tried the French toast which was super good.
We went for brunch and ordered: • Breakfast Burger (I ordered the breakfast burger with a salad but put potatos instead. The burger itself was nice. Nothing special but tasted good. However, the potatos tasted like those old fries you had left cool down for some time and then reheated in an oven. They weren't crunchy at all.) • Waffles and Chicken (the chicken was overfried. The crust wasn't crunchy at all but hard instead. The meat inside was completely dry. A cheap church chicken peace of fried chicken tastes x-times better for less money than what we were served here. The waffle was neither crunchy outside, nor soft and fluffy inside. Again, tasted like an old piece of waffle that had been reheated.) Service: staff except for the one lady who seated us, were not accomodating, rather cold and mistook our orders. They didn't help to make this experience any better. Environment: nice and bright, light-flooded environment. Table are rather close to each other, so if you have loud-speaking, over-confident neighbours, you won't be able to hear yourself think. Overall, I don't recommend to try this place out, at least not for what we ordered. You can eat the same for less money elsewhere in the city and it will taste better for sure. Additionally, service is rather cold, so you better spend your money somewhere, staff are actually happy to welcoming you.
Service was absolutely awful. The waiter did not greet us just put the menu on the table and left, then took 20 minutes to come back and take our order. Took about an hour to get our food, the people who came in after us got the food faster than us and when we finally got our food it was bland and COLD!! Awful experience, not worth the money or your time, would not recommend to come here if you’re looking for good food. Only thing nice was the restaurants decor.
Very chill and laid back atmosphere with good music. Wasn't too loud so you can actually carry out a conversation without shouting. Very good food, I highly recommend the salmon! You won't be disappointed.
3.5 stars. Standard breakfast fare; nothing particularly exciting. In my opinion, home fries were under-seasoned, eggs benedict tasted too citrus-y, sausages were dry, and the coffee seemed stale. A beautiful open space with a large bar and natural light to enjoy a meal though.
The Broadview is a favourite East End brunch place. Today we had chia pudding and waffles. Both were delicious! The staff were so kind. The ambience is cool and relaxed. The table next to us were picking out their favourite decor pieces- the lamps and wallpaper.
Ambiance is excellent. Food always tastes wonderful. I had the spinach and mushroom eggs benny and my husband had the Broadview Breakfast with sunny side up eggs. Service is attentive and staff are super friendly and quite funny when engaging. $29 bottomless mimosas are quite the hit as well -- get the blood orange version as the tartness of the juice pairs way better with Prosecco rather than regular OJ.
This is the bistro of the Broadview hotel. We had brunch here during our stay. They have standard brunch items on the menu (like eggs benedict) as well as newly popular brunch items (such as shakshuka and chicken and waffles). We had the Broadview Breakfast (omelette style) and the Shakshuka. Both were quite good. The berry bowl was a decent size bowl filled with strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. It seems as though they don't get fresh pastries on weekends: We were there on a Sunday and by then they were out of pastries except for one butter croissant which was stale. The waitress was kind enough to not charge us for it when we mentioned it was stale. We arrived at around 10am and were seated immediately. By 10:30am the place got pretty full. The space is quite airy and has an abundance of natural light.
Always delicious and the service is superb.
Good drinks and food, for a fair price!
Horrible. Bad design, service and unremarkable food/drink. Head over to Prohibition instead. Such a shame in a beautiful building.
Decent brunch but nothing special. Typical hotel brunch. Good place if everywhere else is busy in the area.
Parking: Delicious. The chicken and waffles... fantastic. Perfect balnce of savoury sweet with a hint of spice
Not that good, very small menu, not too tasty
It is located at the hotel lobby but the service is good. A good spot for friends having a afternoon chat with some snack and drinks.
Ambience is nice and the bistro is beautiful. Server was very kind however it took quite a long time to receive our food and our bills. The food was delicious, but I wish we were able to get our food and bill quicker. We were cutting it very close to our check out time at the hotel, and we arrived at the bistro an hour and a half before hand.
Very kind and friendly service. We dined in for breakfast and the food was good. They seem to be understaffed? It wasnt very busy and we were seated without a menu for about 15 minutes. No complaints about the food though I would personally appreciate more options. We patiently waited about 30 minutes for our bills after we were finished eating and the staff did not come around to check on our meals or offer refills.
Nice place, service was good and the food was quite solid - J#
Slow service, not enough staff
Lovelovelove the place. Smart casual. Friendly, thoughtful service. Quaint, picturesque interiors, great for photo op. Highly recommended. Will come back for more!
Great spot in Riverside for cocktails and small plates. However, the east side view is the star of the show!
Loves the ambiance for lunch!
Food was great but 2 of us went for a business lunch at noon and finished at 2pm. Took 30 minutes to bring our salads and another hour (1:30pm) to bring our mains. We both had meetings after 1pm so it was awkward as we had to scramble to find people at work to take the meetings. There didn t seem to be any focus by the servers to update us on the food or adhere to a reasonable timeline. There were 2 other tables of 2 so it wasn t busy with 2 servers. I d go back for a social meal but not for a work related meal. Everything took wayyyy too long.
I attended an alumni event here so not the usual food and service etc. Lovely large open space. Yummy snacks and hors d oeuvres. Acoustics were reasonable for conversation. It was a lovely, well catered event, and I would probably return again to try the regular menu if I was in the area. Sadly, I didn t take any pictures. Next time! Parking: Green P lot (045) across the street.
Service was atrocious. I had to get up and order my drink every time. Servers were too busy doing cutlery roll ups instead of attending to their tables. Extremely disappointing considering how beautiful the place is, and how expensive a cocktail/plate is. Dont waste your money, lots of other bars on Queen East.
This bright corner of the Broadview hotel has great brunch food! The times appear wrong since they do last call at 230pm (at least when we went sunday). Great for early drinks as well. Thanks for the great start to our sunday!
Its really unfortunate that such a beautiful space got such a subpar restaurant. We went as a group of 4 for brunch when it wasnt busy. Heres the list of issues: - Table: We reserved and were placed at a tight 4-top right at the entrance with our other choice being right by the washroom despite the restaurant being almost empty when we arrived. Diners who walked in got much better tables along the banquette. This was annoying but not really a huge issues - Food: We ordered Shakshuka as well as fried chicken and waffles. The shakshuka is made with black olives that really overpower the other ingredients which was unfortunate. The poached eggs were undercooked with the whites not properly set. The fried chicken and waffles were underwhelming. The waffle was soggy and the fried chicken thighs were way overcooked and dry. The maple pepper syrup was only maple syrup so that wasnt particularly great. Also, the fresh squeezed orange juice ($8) had to have been the most bitter and sour oranges. When we mentioned it at the end of the meal (which was the only time we had to provide feedback) we were told that its the natural variation of oranges, but come on. Dont serve something so sour and out of what your guests are expecting that the juice tastes fizzy. - Service: Our waiter never came to check on us despite the restaurant not really being all that busy even just to refill the water glasses or clear out used cups so we could have table space (which is really needed given the table size). Wouldnt recommend this place. While the venue is nice you can get as good a brunch around the corner at Prohibition or other places around Leslieville.
Delicious eggs benny and prompt and friendly service.
