The chulo. Flavors of Himalayas
The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the service was good. We ordered Jhol Momo, Chulo Chicken Curry, Buff Choila, and a few mocktails and cocktails. The Jhol Momo and Chulo Chicken Curry were alright, not that wow great, but the Buff Choila was a perfect 10/10 ,it was so yumm. Many options for beverages and the drinks we had were absolutely amazing. Loved the selection of cocktail names like The Last Sherpa, Jhunkeri, Jhawaikhatte, and Lakhey, which all represent Nepali words. Lastly, we also tried their desserts Kheer & Lalmohan(Gulab jamun). I recommend Kheer if you're craving it. It was delicious, perfectly sweet, and smooth.
My first time having Nepalese food, and wow was that an error on my part. The food here is sooo tasty. It's spicy, well seasoned, and has big portions. It's a more upscale restaurant and the price will match that but it's worth it. So if you're in the area and don't know where to eat, come here and grab a mocktail and their amazing dishes.
The interior is very pretty and they have apt music going on. Our food took too much time to come though. The chowmein were 3/5, the chili chicken momos were 5/5 and we thought the chicken sekuwa could have had a bigger portion of chicken. Otherwise great place to visit once⭐️⭐️
We had an incredible dining experience at The Chulo. We tried the Buff Choila, Vegetarian Thakali set, and Chicken Thakali set, and each dish was exceptional. The flavors were authentic and rich, especially the Buff Choila, which had the perfect balance of spice and tenderness. The Thakali sets were beautifully presented with all the traditional accompaniments, from the daal to the pickles and perfectly cooked rice. Each bite was a journey into authentic Nepali cuisine, and the fresh ingredients really stood out. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy, making it the ideal spot for a hearty meal. Highly recommend for anyone craving a true taste of Nepal in Toronto. We will definitely be back.
If you are craving real Nepali food then this is the perfect place in city!! Khana tasted just like home in Nepal. Had to wait a little longer but the food was worth waiting for. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
Me and my two brothers went to Chulo last Monday and the experience we had was immaculate. The food is so good that we couldn't help ourselves with the urge to try more. The drinks specially spicy margarita with the tanginess cocktail of tequila and chilli matched so well. (Canada ma basera nepal ko swad ra vibes ayeko dherai paxi thyo). Can't wait to visit this place again.
It was truly a pleasure to dine here for dinner! The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite pleasant and the staff were very friendly. The interior is very nice, spacious, and clean. The flavors of the food were fantastic and were very enjoyable to the palette. The prices are great and the portions are worth the money. I want to come back here again and try out more of the menu. 😊
Ordered the chicken sekuwa, poleko momos, kaju paneer, and naan and everything was delicious and very reasonably priced (~$15-$17). Our server was great, very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great - great decor, ambient music and not too loud. I’d highly recommend coming here if you’d like to try some Nepalese food! It would also make for a great date spot.
Great food with great ambience and best service by Mr.Madav and Mr.Prajal. We would like to visit again.Thank you for your great hospitality.
I tried mango lassi, chowmein, and jhol momo each bring unique flavors to the table. The mango lassi excels as a soothing drink, perfectly sweet and refreshing. The chowmein delivers a balanced, hearty meal with bold, smoky flavors, while the jhol momo stands out as a soulful dish packed with vibrant and tangy tastes. Together, they represent a delightful culinary journey through diverse textures and flavors. Highly recommended
Such great food and great people . One of my favourite restaurants.
It was an incredible experience for us, filled with absolute fun and authentic Nepali flavors. The hospitality from the manager, Ashim Magar, was truly commendable and made our visit even more memorable. Thank you bro #ashim_magar Food
The food has been great on previous visits, but this time my experience with the jhol momo was disappointing. The meat inside was undercooked, and even after waiting 20 minutes, our order arrived cold.
Overall, recommended, but a bit disappointed today. We had to wait more than 20 minutes for the jhol momo, but it was served at room temperature, and the momo filling was undercooked with raw oil inside. The chatpatey was also much oilier than expected. I m a regular customer, and this hasn t happened before.
The service was quick felt good by the environment remembered back home. Thank you yogita for your amazing service
Food was exceptionally good ! For appetizer we had the Jwala Aloo mildly spiced slight sweetness potatoes cut like fries . Very good! Second was the Chowmein Vegan option regular spice level . Noodles were well cooked stir fried and seasoned to perfection flavours were bursting! Lastly we had the Chulo s Chili Momo also vegan, flavours were rich and spicy very saucy dish , also incredibly good ! Definitely recommend and the prices are fantastic for a great portion. Try not to eat with your eyes! Vegetarian options: All Momo s can be made vegan!!!
Great restaurant with delicious food!! Very tasty mutton thakali set (everything tasted amazing in that platter), yummy momo and quite palatable chicken tikka. Oh even the cocktails were refreshing. Must visit or order from! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options as well for example biryani without meat is available as well.
The Chulo is one of the best Nepali restaurant here in Toronto. The food is of just high quality. The service is top notch. The people are so sweet .
The food was amazing and service was top notch. Madhav was really great with the service and was attentive all the time. Buff jhol momo, chow chow sadheko and buff sukuti were very delicious. Will recommend this place for Nepali cuisine.
I am really disappointed with overall service because the boy who was serving me was very rude, he didn t treat me in welcoming way. I told him multiple times to communicate in English so that i can understand but he deliberately spoke in some foreign language and made faces (annoying) which creates really worst experience. It s a common sense that he speak to customers in English for better experience and for better communication.
Vegetarian options: The vegan options were varied and delicious, but not as good as the meat. Food
plating is not looking authentic. other then that everything was good.
Great food and service
The best buff momo i ve ever had in canada
Im a fan of their chowmein
Had this amazing jhol momo . Everyone should try it
Jhol momo and buff thali was too good 10/10 in everything
Amazing place for the best authentic Nepali food.
The Chulo = Absolutely Outstanding Food, atmosphere, service, live music Food
An amazing must visit place to visit with your close friends and family. The service, food, atmosphere everything is top rated. Rohan Dai with music adds extra ambient pheonomenol beauty to The Chulo.
The experience was great ! Food was top notch! Would recommend eveyone to make a visit!
This place perfectly satisfied my Nepali food cravings. The ambience was great, the service was amazing and I and my friend had a great time there.
Nice place with good ambience and great hospitality.
Great customer service food was tasty overall didn t regreted coming all the way from Mississauga.
Nice place to have an authentic Nepalese food. Came with my family and loved the food here. Well served. Good Food Good Mood Thank you Chulo.
One of the best quality and reasonably priced places in Toronto. Their thalis are amazing. Love this place.
Best place to have food Just love it
Very nice staff, accomodated a large group near closing. Delicious food.
Amazing food, amazing service. A bit on a higher side but worth it.
Not as expected but its good.
Momos were decent not so great, its one of the spiciest food I ever had in toronto so be careful of spice level while ordering.
Best restaurant in town. I recommend all the Nepalis to visit here once. You won t regret.
Food was awesome and the most special i like is crispy meat in noodles
Good food and good ambience. Also very welcoming staffs.
Great food with a great ending (deserts). Finished all the food.
Amazing, very aromatic food with the perfect amount of spice. Service is really great, super nice and helpful.
Really great food highly recommend
As a Nepali, I couldnt resist trying the jhol momo at The Chulo when I was in the area, and it did not disappoint. The tangy sauce was incredible, and the momo fillings were just right. I usually wait before taking a bite of jhol momos, but here, the temperature was spot on. I ordered the chicken jhol momo and an Oreo shake both were perfect. The prices were reasonable too. Ill definitely visit again if I get the chance.
I ordered Tandoori momo They were good, but the skin was sticking to the plate because it was hot. Food
It is a very good place to dine-in and have lunch.
We went on Tuesday the first impressions was good but the lady seems not happy we were expecting a lot with the thakali khana set but the food came with just 3 items and also the mula ko aachar bigresakeko thyo was not edible you cant serve it to your customer i was going to call food safety officer but it was nepali people so i let it go so my suggestion server is the face of your restaurant she have to be smiling it seem that she was forcefully working the guy was good and please update your thalai and the price was horrible momo was ok but the thali should not serve in that way please be thoughtful customer should be satisfied while paying but we were not
The service was amazing, the food was delicious, the place was fantastic, and they even had music on Mondays. Overall, the experience was awesome!
This Nepalese Restaurant opened about a year ago near where my kid lives. So we tried it and will most definitely be going back. Great selections including Momos, Thalis and Biryani rice. We loved everything and Im per our request it came perfectly spiced-hot to our tastes. Lots of vegi and vegan options. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegi and vegan options.
Amazing food and service. The chicken choilo is a spicy must have! Shout out to Hashim for the service and reco. Food : 5/5
Great food and service
Nothing is authentic. What kinda crazy person serves pumpkin jhol with momo.
Very delicious food! The wait time is so fast!
The food was devilry s the service was amazing they were all so nice it s very clean! I recommend coming
Great value, great quality and clean space. Highly recommended.
Best place for momo
A relatively new restaurant in the annex area. Quite bright, clean and many comfortable tables spaced apart so it is rathe quite inside. They specialize in Himalyan food but als serve some indian dishes. We had the Choila Momo chicken and a chicken Tikka Masala. Both were excellent. The bottled Himalyan (Ustav) beer was very good. The service was excellent.
I enjoyed so much. Such a great hospitality from Prajwal dai, and the ambience was a worth of every penny spending. Thank you so much. Highly recommend.
Service was good . But need to improve alot in food . Chicken Momo was totally tasteless no salt and spices in filling it was kind of sweet Buff choila was raw Totally disappointed by food . Chatpatey was eatable compared to other food .
Service was good but food was worst need to improve alot ..Food was flavour less momo was worst choila was raw . So try to focus on food
I had heard about this place from my Nepali friends and colleagues. The food was absolutely fantastic. The service and atmosphere were top-notch, and the staff (shoutout to Prajwol and Bahini) were incredibly friendly and welcoming, with a beautiful smile on their faces. I especially loved how Prajwol took the time to explain each dish to us, which was such a great way to introduce newcomers to Nepali cuisine. I cant wait to bring my non-Nepali friends here so they can experience authentic Nepali food for the first time.
I came to this place second time as I was impressed even more than before. I ordered combo 1, which basically is a lite version of thali set. Everything went so smooth and I enjoyed a lot. When, I went for the payment, Ashim dai told me that there is a scheme going on targeting international students that the food is free of cost and I don t need to pay for it. I was so confused. Later, I felt so proud. Thank you owner dai. You are doing great.
An exotic mountain paradise in the middle of Toronto that Kublai Khan himself would have cherished. Light, fragrant, with good sized portions at a reasonable price, the city is lucky to have such a treasure trove of spiced delights; and this is from someone who has sought out Persian, sub-continental, and Asian food all over the world. The momos in particular are pearls of gastronomic genius. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: We are vegetarian and the options were both plentiful and delicious. Definitely worth a visit or three.
Amazing food. Very good customer service Madhav was great and very helpful . Will come back again
Amazing food in a clean, beautiful space! The momos were mindblowingly good. There were so many vegan options! The food tasted home-cooked; everything was made with care. We will definitely visit again!
Very good Nepalese food! Recommended
Had great vegan options. Tasted fresh and was clearly labeled.
Awesome food and hospitality. The quality and sizes of momo were really good . It was worth it. We came all the way from Thunder Bay.
Great new Nepali spot in the neighbourhood. Restaurant is nice, service was great, and the food was sensational. Well be back.
If you re looking for flavour, this is the place! Plenty of veg options and the dishes have unique flavours. Love!
Loved the food, service, ambience. Everything was on point. Will definitely go back
Been here twice. Very nice food and service.
I ordered takeout from here over the weekend and had a disappointing experience. However, Im still giving it 3 stars because I have dined in twice before and absolutely loved it. The food and service were top-notch during those visits. I expected the same quality for takeout, but it was quite different. I ordered the same dish (Chilli Chicken) I had when dining in, but this time it was poorly prepared. There was barely any sauce, the vegetables were uncooked, and the portion was significantly smaller. I still recommend this place for dining in, but I do not recommend the takeout.
Loved the food and amazing service by Prajwal dai and Madhav. Will definitely come back.
Amazing food and service 10/10
We were surprised by the nice atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was really good! We had a few dishes, some food was left over to take home. We will definitely be back for more.
Very nice, clean Indian restaurant with a twist thanks to some fascinating Nepalese items to the menu. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options
Get the buffalo momo!

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant ,thanks to Madhabs exceptional hospitality. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. His menu recommendations were perfect, and he consistently ensured we had everything we needed.
Food is delicious ;)
I wish I could give 10 stars out of five. Food Quality is excellent just like their ambience. Sever, PrajwaI stood out the service. The soft traditional Nepali background music was so relaxing. This place has my love now
Amazing people amazing food just love it!
Amazing food and service!! The decor is so pretty and cozy as well. Would definitely come here again.
Food was ekdam mitho And our server Madhav was so amazing loved the service and ambience
The food was soooo good. We had chicken momo, thali set, jhol momos and lassi. Everything was soo amazing. Authentic nepali food and madhav was so good with his service. He deserves a pay raise with no doubt. Highly recommended!
First time I went to this Nepali restaurant in Toronto. I really like almost all food we have ordered. Very cleaned, food were testy and good service.
Great food and wonderful server.
Ive never had such creative and outstanding Momos. The buff momos and chicken chili momos are truly habit forming so must try them, but beware! The servers and staff are extremely sweet which is so authentic to Nepal. We went with friends and had a fantastic time. Now we are all fans of The Chulo.
Very amazing Kasthamandap ambiance. The Food is awesome. We tried Mutton Thakali, Buff Momo and Chatpatey. Honestly it reminded me of back home. Madhab was really helpful and made sure that we had a very good time. Would definitely be coming back.
Amazing food and excellent service. Felt like home away from home Def coming back and recommend to everyone Recommended dishes

Amazing place, such a nice vibe but the food wasn t as we expected. However it is not that bad either. Hoping for a better experience next time
Best place for typical Nepali cuisine. Ambience was excellent.Highly recommended!!!
One of the best place in Toronto to enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine. If you re looking for a place with good ambiance, spacious dining, and good service this place is the one you re looking for. I d recommend anyone to consider this place if you want to have a memorable dinner date.
I love the food and the service was so amazing.
Best nepali restaurant I ve visited in Canada. Our server Mr. Ashim and Miss Yogita were the best. They took great care of us. This review is specially for them. So happy guys. Will visit back for you guys. Steam buff momo is the best . Kudos to Ashim and Yogita. Thank you for caring us. Will come back soon
Really loved the chaptey, momo and chowmein
The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Amazing food. Hands down one of the top restaurants in Toronto for Indian. Highly recommended this place for everyone to try
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing ambience. Best momos in the city hands down. Craving desi food? You re in the right spot!
Love the place, food, ambiance and mostly Daii. I Highly recommend people to visit this place.
Awesome place!
It was my first time ever having momos and they were incredibly tasty! Also had the lunch combo with butter chicken, naan and dal and it was also really good. Worth a stop for sure!
Greattttt momos!!!!! we ordered Poleko and Jhol momos in Vegetarian section and loved it!!!! the restaurants vibe is also awesome
Food and customer service both were amazing.
Customer service was amazing Keep up Food
Great Nepalese food. If you re a vegetarian try these: 1. Veg poleko momos 2. Majja ko chatpate chana 3. Jwala Aalo 4. Malai paneer tikka 5. If you can handle spice, their spicy red chilli chutney. Had mango lassi but was on the sweeter side and felt like there was some essence in it.
Ordered Chowmein and mango lassi. Both were amazing. The staff is the best, always smiling. But something that I liked absolutely the most was the paintings on the walls of the restaurant. Oil paintings of himalayas and Nepalese life is worthy of exhibitions.
Food was very good. The Momos is very tasty
Excellent chatpatey and Momo . Fish was good. Disappointed with the Buff sukuti. Sukuti seems burned and sweet. Expected and ordered Nepali buff sukuti style (spicy and with garlic and ginger). Other foods were good. Excellent Ambience. Felt like I was somewhere in Nepal . A home away from home. Nice place
The service and the food was really good loved it. Recommend items : mutton sekuwa and buff choila , momos Food
The place and atmosphere was nice. Quiet and well managed but the food was too dull and oily. Food
Really really really slow service. Waited for more than 45 min and still nothing
Perfect nepali cusine!!!
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for Nepali authentic food and I like the service of #madhav and #niruta.

Great food. Plenty of vegan options.
Awesome food and ambiance
It s was amazing. Chowmine and the joll momo were the best. We get a friendly environment which gives the Nepali vibes that we were searching over here. I will visit here for sure.
First time here in Chulo, Wonderful experience and super friendly staffs. The food was super delicious. Certainly would recommend to every Nepali people craving for Nepalese cuisine and authentic nepali taste.
Best of the best I would say. Don t miss the buff momo is so authentic and tastes exactly like the one made in Nepal. Just loved it!!! Highly recommended
The momo was truly delicious!
I went to the restaurant 2/3 days ago and tried momo, which was awesome; the texture and flavors were authentic, and the young dude who served me was quite impressive and funny as well ; a well-deserving guy
Vegan and non-vegan - our meal was delicious- fresh, so much flavour.. good portions. Happy we tried this place and we will absolutely be back! Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and with live music too!
The butter chicken momos are unreal. They have good Nepalese beer as well.
The service was vey good. All the staffs were very friendly and kind. The decorations and music gave vibes of Nepal however tje taste of food was not really authentic. The taste could have been improved. But saying so had a really nice time and enjoyed it with my friends.
Chili momos here are so good! As well as the fresh pineapple juice. Would definitely recommend
I tried samosa and chatpatey Taste makes me feel like I am in nepal
dined in today around 7 in the evening and had a great experience. Great ambience, good food, and friendly staff. Madhab, one of the staff, was very helpful and accommodating. I would love to visit again!
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming host, setting the stage for a wonderful evening. The ambiance was inviting, with a tasteful decor that promised a dining experience to remember. As we settled in, the variety of food options was impressive, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. The culinary delights did not disappoint. Each dish was a testament to the chefs skill, bursting with flavors that left us wanting more. The cleanliness of the space was impeccable, contributing to the comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Adding to the charm was the selection of music, which was both delightful and fitting for the setting, enhancing our overall dining experience. It was a night of culinary exploration in an ambient space that we would recommend to anyone seeking a variety of experiences. However, there was one aspect that fell short of perfection the service time. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we faced delays that were unexpected. We believe this is an area ripe for improvement. In conclusion, except for the service time, everything was commendable. For the great food, wonderful host, and the overall dining experience, I gladly give this restaurant a well-deserved 4 stars.
The food was okay. Rice was dry and not tasty. And the wait time was 40 mins even though it s not busy.
The thali were awesome!!
Found this gem of a place with authentic Nepalese flavors. We went there for dinner with no reservations on a Friday evening and were able to get a place. Ordered veg chowmein, tandoori chicken and pan fried style momos. Everything was delicious and you have the option to choose your spice level. Another thing I would recommend is to try their Himalayan style lager beer, really refreshing and pairs well with their flavorful food. The ambience is pretty chill and there was a live performance on the Fri night, not sure if its regular. The only thing to consider is that the service is a bit slow, so be sure to carve out time. However the food is worth the wait. Things I wouldnt recommend ordering - madras coffee and masala chai.
Staff behaviour is awesome
