Year round dining in the heart of High Park. The Grenadier Cafe, located centrally in High Park, has been operated by the Grenadier Group since the mid 80's. From the beginning, we've been serving both quality breakfast dishes and daring new ventures into lunch and dinner items with a Greek touch! Surrounded by the beauty of High Park, the Grenadier Cafe reflects the character of the surrounding area while also paying tribute to High Park's storied past. This multi-section restaurant offers the choice to sit and relax with a hot cocoa or cappuccino before your hike in the park or meet up with family and friends for a beautiful breakfast or lunch. Either way, you'll love your experience with us!
I really try hard to avoid writing negative reviews, but while I fully expect to pay a premium based on the location, for a takeout order of almost $25, I didn't think I'd have to go to Roncesvalles to get more (and far better) food. Pros: The cashier was very friendly as was the person taking out the garbage, and the washrooms were good. Cons: $12 for a tiny portion of "veggie chili" (the small cup was more like an appetizer of tomato soup with a few frozen beans & veggies added but zero heat); the $10 egg sandwich didn't have the tomato I asked for and the crust had a clump of lint/fabric in it; one of the cooks was constantly coughing; the order took quite a long while despite being the only customer; and they've got a table inside staffed with two people & posters everywhere to protest for more parking.
Oh…if you visit here and want to grab a drink, don’t expect the coffee there. The caramel latte I ordered drinks so plastic…wonder why. And the atmosphere is quite creepy. If that’s for the upcoming Halloween then forgive me. Lights are dim there. Thank you for being so eco friendly.
I can be wrong but I think this is the only restaurant in High Park. The other one is like a concrete hotdog stand near the north entrance. We loved their fries! Hot, crunchy on the outside, salted just right, good serving size. We ordered their fries multiple times. Self-service is the norm, tips aren't mandatory like when you enter your card or hand over cash, they don't automatically expect you to give tips like other places. They have a classic tip jar. Coffee is average. The bread they use for sandwiches is good, too. Outside seating can be a good idea when it's not too cold. Inside seating is my preference. There's an ice cream store right outside the cafe.
The cafe is located inside High Park, in the same direction as the cherry trees. The place is quite large, and has indoor and outdoor tables, but on all my visits only the outdoor tables were available to customers in the morning, as the indoor dining room was closed. At least on all my visits in the morning, the menu was just snacks and sweets and cakes on display, as well as coffees and cold drinks. They have a card and cash payment system, and you can leave a tip if you like the food. On all my visits, the food was ready very quickly, but I confess that I expected more from the snacks since they cost 20 dollars. The apple and cherry pies are wonderful and worth trying. Dogs are not allowed in the space or outside, so if you visit with your pet, you must buy the products with someone and eat in another part of the park. The accessibility of the establishment is good in terms of mobility: spacious halls, bathroom with support for customers with low mobility and disabilities, but without automatic closing and opening doors. They don't have a menu in Braille, but according to them, they can help customers with whatever they need. At the main door, they have a map of the entire park area, which helps you with the location, and they have parking on the side of the restaurant, which serves the entire park. Worth knowing.
Me and a friend went here a few days ago after seeing the cherry blossoms. I had a vanilla latte and a hotdog, weird combo, I know. But the lady who made the latte did her thing. She was very good. I'll be coming back when the dining room opens after the cherry blossoms.
**A Hidden Gem in High Park** I stumbled upon this cafe when I was visiting High Park. The cafe is situated right in the heart of the park's lush greenery, and it instantly caught our eyes with its inviting appearance. On Sundays, the cafe tends to be a bit busier. Even though there was a short wait (15-20 mins) for my order, it didn't bother me much because the serene and pleasant ambiance made it all worthwhile. It's worth noting that on weekends, parking your car inside the park is not allowed, so plan accordingly. I decided to try their coffee and apple pie, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and flavourful pie. The cafe also boasts an unusual but charming feature – a tree inside, which adds to its unique and cozy atmosphere. Some says, it's fake but to me it looked real. After having my treat, I took a leisurely walk in High Park during the evening. The park was particularly stunning in the autumn season, with colourful fall foliage in its full glory. It felt like nature was at the peak of its beauty, displaying an array of vibrant colors. What adds depth to the experience is the historical connection of this cafe to park's past. The original donor of High Park included a condition that no alcohol should be served within the park's grounds. The Grenadier Cafe is a hidden gem within the heart of High Park. It offers a peaceful escape, a connection to history, and delicious treats. I definitely recommend it to others, especially those looking for a unique blend of nature and history in one of Toronto's most picturesque parks.
I got a green tea here and it was piping hot. The food selection seemed big enough and the menu had plenty of options. We didn't get any food but we enjoyed sitting on the patio area. Overall, it seemed like a cozy spot in the rainy weather we were having at the time. 5 stars from me!
Amazing experience here! The Chicken Souvlaki and the Steak were both top notch!!! The patio was also amazing for such a beautiful day like today and our server Karina was excellent! 5 stars all around! Cannot recommend this place enough
Honestly the food was far too expensive though i know why it has to be was because the cafe has not got enough frequent business to have their prices lower. I bought I mocha and it was good, the employees were good, friendly and professional and I was very glad that the cafe was open at all through the cold winter so my buddy and I had a warm place to rest and stop at for a while before we returned to the cold outdoors for our epic bicycle event! Thank you for being there grenadier cafe! I saw that there was a table with info, papers and petitions to have the vehicle access to high park re-opened and while you may not agree with me that vehicles should have access to high park; The cafes prices would be lower if they got more business and had more of a budget to advertise, I signed the petition for the cause and if you want to aid and support the cause please search petition to have vehicle access to high park re-opened! I really dont want to pay $20 for french fries and its really sad if any business has to price a piece of pie (or a regular mocha) @ $7 I supported local businesses where I could and I do not go there often though I really do love high park and I definitely recommend it! If you continue to follow the path from the gates at bloor and high park ave off the road through the park you will arrive at the cafe eventually! ~ Roarr! Vegetarian options: They had the options of oatmilk for the coffees and other hot drinks Kid-friendliness: Its really koOol and entertaining how there are decorations like leaves all over the celing / roof and especially little kids will find fun with that Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there is a ramp that goes to the door
Havent been here in years. The food was great and so was the service. Food
Excellent food. Hot coffee and blueberry
For such a prime location, this place was disappointing. It seems like it was ran over by the harsh wheel of time. The atmosphere resembles a dark and eerie grandmas house, where one has to think twice before accepting her biscuit. What is the point of the creepy fake tree indoors if one is surrounded by lush, natural vegetation? The staff seem absent-minded, not really wanting to be there. The food in general is disappointing, with a few exceptions (fries?) that do not make up for it. This place needs to lighten up and catch up with the times. High Park deserves better!
Everthing is Expensive and not so tasty. Wastage of money.
Awful food, and overpriced to boot. There are significantly better places to visit. Combine that with a socially regressive attitude from the owner, complaining about public services that help everyone. This place is best avoided.
Nice little cafe to sip
Overpriced and mediocre food
Nice place in the park for a good meal! We came for lunch and it was great! Good service and good food!
The veggie burger is awful
Loved it.
It has a superb vibe
Food was okay but I couldnt eat on the patio due to the number of wasps swarming.
Cute place in high park.
Food that fills you with good memories of family gatherings. The cafe is a staple of High Park. Beautiful to dine inside or out as you can watch the wildlife while you enjoy your meal. Kind and accommodating staff who are able to recommend tasty dishes and offer options for any dietary restrictions. Having a picnic or company function in High Park? They can cater your event!!! This past summer my work was to host a Summer Picnic in the Park style party. Expertly planned out food wise thanks to the Grenadiner Cafe. Sadly, our day in the Park was called due to rain but the cafe was offered to us so we may still enjoy our gathering. It was enchanting to watch the rain from inside the cafe as we chowed down on the plentiful amounts of food. The time spent there was filled with laughter and trips back for 2nd s, 3rd s and even 4th s! The burgers, grilled chicken breast, pasta pesto salad and potato salad were favourites and weeks later we still reminisce about the afternoon. We look forward to having a sun filled company picnic next year with the Grenadiers food.
Undrinkable coffee. Take out cups and lids were dirty and coffee tasted burnt. Had 2 sips and disposed of it.
First the hot chocolate tastes like hot water with some chocolate flavor. Hot dog is bad. Coffee is ok at best I asked for a straw and was told they dont provide any. I asked how a Cafe doesnt have any straws and then the server gave me attitude about my attitude towards a café not having straws. All i did was sigh as I got chocolate milk for my toddler didnt want him to spill on himself.
Delicious and fresh food and cappuccino is great. The dining area is very nice
Horrible overpriced coffee, not friendly service, dirty bathrooms
Breakfast is usually good but lunch is not good at all , there was lots of wasps so we couldn t sit outside, they should spray the deck because we go for the outside seating
Delicious food, went for a work event, and had a wonderful time.
Very good service, decent food. I had eggs benedict. Hot and crispy potatoes.
Friendly, efficient, hard working staff. Great food - simple and honest. Fries were particularly good. Bacon in my BLT was thin and crispy - lovely. Good arrived quickly. I finished my lunch off with a filter coffee and a custard tart. Also delicious.
Im embarrassed for you, Grenadier Restaurant. Your coffee is awful literally the worst, there are no healthy options, theres only the bare minimum for restricted diets. What a wasted opportunity; this amazing location should be packed, with reservations only waiting lists if only you had any sense of what the local community and far away visitors to the park want. One star is too generous for this out-dated, out-of-touch, and out-of-ideas restaurant concept. Its the park atmosphere that charms people into leaving 4 and 5 star reviews, not the food or service. Im glad to hear the Grenadier is struggling to break even. It must be time for a change.
Had a wonderful brunch. Staff is very friendly and hospitable.
Great place to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the City.
There were a lot of wasps/bees on the terrace. It really makes the meal less enjoyable. On the other hand, the waitresses were all very nice. We had our dogs with us and they brought water for them.
Hamburger was meh, the hot dog was the worst one I ve ever tried and neither of my kids would eat it, and I got a chicken sandwich on focaccia which was mediocre at best. Interior is nice and location is great. The only thing that was good was the fries and poutine (not great poutine, but it was the only thing that got finished). Desserts looked good, but we didn t try them. Vegetarian options: There were some veg sandwiches, a broccoli soup and veggie burgers which were actually better than the beef burger. Parking: Large parking lot, with severalsmaller parking areas walking distance Kid-friendliness: Normal kid friendly fast food options (although they re not great), lots of desserts and kids will like the decor. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible via wheelchair ramp and lots of room inside to manoeuvre
The food was better than expected Quiet place with adequate seating It has access to clean washrooms which is great My only complaint is that there are bees in the outdoor seating area, they gotta do something about that. Overall, definitely good for grabbing a bite while you re at High Park
Great place to grab a bite. Food is not as good as it used to but its very affordable. Service is also good.
The Grenadier is a Toronto classic. It s good and always has been. The staff are prompt and friendly and the food is cooked fresh. It seems the patio umbrellas have been updated and there s a good amount of shade. It s a nice place to stop in the park to cool off.
Mind blowing food great service I also want to work there if there is any hiring let me know
It was a great quiet place to have a break and get some food
Too costly...
Amazing food, and a good atmosphere. Kind of messy tables but easy enough to brush the few crumbs away. Lovely staff.
A lovely restaurant in the most beautiful park in Toronto. Fast and friendly service, great portion and priced very well. They have delicious gluten free bread as well! This has become a tradition for visits to see our Grandma. The only downside is that the city has closed High Park to vehicles on weekends and holidays making it very hard to access if mobility is an issue.
Cute cafe with ample outdoor seating in high park. Simple but great quality food and swift service. Tried the bacon cheese sandwich, blueberry pie and coffee. Nothing exquisite but great place for a quick little snack.
A couple of weeks ago, my team hosted a corporate event with BBQ catering provided by the Café, and it was absolutely outstanding! Kristina and her team went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Weve been recommending it to everyone ever since.
Great fish and chips .. if only you could order a beer.
Good food and wonderful spot in the middle of the park. Free parking.
Youd come here for the atmosphere more than anything. Kid-friendliness: They do have a changing table in the female washroom. Food : 3/5 |
Some good food options. Good outdoor seating and indoor ambience was beautiful as well.
Excellent customer service experience ..food always delicious and tasty selections
Overpriced. Blueberry pie sucks.
I am here now. Everything seems so rushed . The waiting staff appears intent on getting you out of here as quickly as possible
Wish there was beer
My family and I had a wonderful experience here. The service was lovely. The food was great and served in a timely manner. It was my 4 boys and my wife. Would highly recommend.
Its been many many years since Ive been here, and Im happy to say that the tradition of great atmosphere, good service, and good food are still thriving
Coffee is over priced Not premium coffee Most meal combos only include French fries with the meal Frequent staff turnover Patio nice during the summer months Food : 2/5 |
Worse food, pricey low quality food, brunch with no coffee included. A group of 5 and We didnt like any food. Patio was good though.
It is a place like an oasis in the desert, because within this large park there are no places where food or drinks are sold. This cafeteria offers you delicious desserts, coffee and other snacks, it has tables so you can rest for a moment during the tour. The staff is very friendly, the prices are a little high quality-price.
The food is ALWAYS good here this is pur familys 3rd time here foods fresh, good and FAIR priced,4 ppl 100+ tip,not bad. The environment is so warm and calm. My favorite season is fall and its definitely a fall themed restaurant! Love this place Kid-friendliness: Warm environment, nice smiles, calm voices!
It s in High Park so you can t go wrong. Nothing special about the patio or interior, somewhat rundown but no one is there for fancy. Dessert I had was decent. Customer service was fine.
Expensive and overpriced for the quality. Poutine for $11.99!?! In a small box, with regular cheese instead of cheese curds. The hamburger was also really bad, it was probably made from a frozen hamburger, it sure tasted like that. $8.99 for the hamburger, cheese is extra. For a cheeseburger with fries, two bottled pops and a poutine, $40
The rice pudding needs some work. Maybe less vanilla pudding and raisins and more rice. Thats just my 2 cents. Fries are good and crispy
It s peaceful, scenic, fresh and warm like smiles.. I love this place..
A great place to enjoy eating outdoors with friendly service and tasty food surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery and High Park trees and walkways, a peaceful place.
Food here use to be so cheap now I think the owner is trying to keep a certain budget people out..
Weekend summer visit is a must for brunch
Food is solid, except for the burger (low-quality frozen patty).
My wife and I went to see the Cherry Blossoms last Sunday with my son and his girlfriend. There seemed to be a bit of a chaotic line-up at first but we figured it out. Order your food, get a number and wait to the side. My son and I are from the service industry and made quick notes. Girl took the order with a pleasant smile and cheerfulness. Somebody was in charge behind the counter. Things were being wiped down and everything seemed to be moving swiftly along. Everybody seemed to be working together in harmonious chaos. We had three sandwiches and fries. Awesome! Real ciabatta buns, lotsa meat and top notch fries! Darn Tasty! We caught Terry the manager cleaning the outdoor tables and picking up windblown serviettes. Great job!. We paid our compliments and left with a smile. BTW---the deserts looked amazing!
Cutest little restaurant/cafe. It s seriously so cute but it can get pretty packed pretty quickly depending on when you go. We had the burgers and they were fantastic. Washed it down with a coffee. Awesome time and staff were helpful!
They had us waiting too long and nobody realized we were waiting for our food. And we had to ask why is it taking so long when others took so short. They did not even apologize for being standing there with the number given for such an extended period of time , nor told us if we had received our food after paying . Bad experience!
Bad news folks. They took away all the booths in the Cafe. You can still order food but you must sit outside or go to the section where they serve you. No booths in Cafe anymore!
Cute and convenient cafe after long walks. Their rice pudding and iced latte is delicious!
Good food and chicken burger was fresh and good veggies used along with good chicken patty
Very grateful to these guys. My son had a bike accident just outside and they were the sweetest, stopping to bring me first aid and offering him icecream. Amazing staff!
Mediocre food, and pricy, but the location is great. Service, not so much.
I love this place so much. It is one of my family s regular spots for lunch as the servers are so wonderful and friendly, the food is great, and the location is amazing, right in the heart of High Park.
Friday 4:30 PM On Good Friday, the free restrooms in the park were locked, so the restrooms were used a lot, there were no extra tissues in the restrooms, and the level of cleaning was poor. They didnt remove moisture, so it was difficult to use, but the staff was friendly and it was nice to have coffee and bread heated up. However, the price is a little high. I think so. I hope you all have good memories of your stay in the cold weather... Happy Easter
Have gone here off and on for 40+ years. Better than virtually any chain restaurant but could offer more in the way of veggies or salads. Parking: So far one can find parking at the Grenedier, but, with loss of so many (2/3?) of the other spots in the park, it is likely to become much more difficult as the weather improves. Parking for the charity run last weekend was impossible!
Not exactly the best food, but it is still very enjoyable to grab a bite and a coffee in the park.
A fantastic spot with an exceptional new addition in the form of General Manager Terry! My friend and I visited this restaurant today for a quick pick-me-up. Upon receiving my order, I noticed it was a hot dog, though I had intended to order a burger. Promptly, the gentleman serving us, who turned out to be Terry, the new general manager, took charge. Without hesitation, he arranged for my order to be swiftly changed to a burger, personally ensuring its delivery to me. Its rare to encounter such exemplary customer service, exceeding all expectations. Terrys attentive care truly made our experience remarkable.
Generic family diner type place. Pricing was surprisingly lower than it could be. I imagine its nice in summer with the patio open, but it did the job we needed it to.
Food was ok. Beef and barley soup too salty though. Service staff were polite. When ordering food from the counter its served in disposable containers/cutlery. Im surprised and dissapointed that they are not using re-usable dishes, they are a restaurant afterall. We told them we are eating in, not taking out, they said they only serve with disposable containers. Next time I go to High Park I will bring my own lunch to avoid creating so much garbage. Parking: was here in the morning on a weekday and plenty of parking left.
I went here time and i was confused what to get suddenly i took risk and tried tea as a indian style made by Indian employees that was amazing. Thank you so much
I ordered chili and my friend burger. The taste was below average, the space not cozy. Wont go there again.
Food was good, the lady (waitress) was nice
Such a beautiful, tucked away cafe that offers great breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Dietary restrictions: Alternative dairy options available Kid-friendliness: Space is kid friendly
Great place to get food poisoning, went when i was little but now its a definite mess!
I like how it s tucked in High Park but my first visit left a bad impression. They forgot my order and waited a while until I went up to follow up only to find out they forgot. The food is overpriced and it feels like it s just a place that serves whatever food they can. The chicken burger is nothing special. It s mediocre ingredients thrown together. I would only go here for convenience and drink overpriced coffee to hang out.
I ll be honest, I m new to the country, so it s difficult for me to judge where and what level of establishment is good or not. Therefore, I will describe the sensations based on personal ideas and experience available today. And so, a mid-level cafe. In everything. But this is not a pretentious statement, but an exceptional statement of fact about an institution that strives to be at the level where it is today. This is partly self-service: the order is placed at the checkout, after which you are called to pick it up according to your order number. Food is served in disposable dishes (at least on the side where the cafe is, not the dining room, because there is a second hall). I havent tried anything impressive. The quality of the food is ordinary, the main thing is that everything is fresh. The coffee doesnt taste good either, an Italian would pour it out... But again, you cant compare it with other countries and cultures. For the local contingent, this is ordinary coffee. The service is friendly at the checkout and nothing more. Toilets are of average cleanliness, could be better. There is peace and quiet in the room. Overall, its good for a snack.
Had the French Onion Soup! It was good! Service was fast and coffee was always topped up.
They don t have the dining open so its just minimal food like burgers and fries that don t even taste good but are expensive. Their drinks are warm and they don t even have straws. Their tables and trays are not cleaned and sticky. And the bathroom was not cleaned either with faucets that have to be held with one hand to pour water.
They closed washrooms during Spring time Be aware
Not expecting that you have to take out your food and eat outside while they have a space indoors. Washroom is not open too....I have to use the porta potties Thats for the park.....disgusting dirty and no toilet paper. Never go back to that restaurant ever again.
Its like the oasis in the desert The food is passable!!! Are there bathrooms !!! Hot and cold drinks!!! There is no lactose-free milk hahaha
Washrooms are closed
It used to be good, like 5-7 years ago. Tasty, big and and good priced breakfasts; nice salads and all other kind of good stuff. I recently moved back to TO and was surprised to find this place getting worse - less items on the menu; less service provided (compared to how is was). Moreover, I got my poutine absolutely cold and when I asked staff about it, all I got was it s fine . As a note, I used to work there and standards were waaaay different. Sad to see this happening. Better pack my own snacks going forward.
A little disappointing. Its nice that its there, but the food is only ok. Its a bit shocking that the prices are so expensive, yet the owner relies on tipping in order to pay their staff a fair wage. The sign on the door enticing people to work there by saying they will make far more with tips. Creates a culture where people feel obligated to tip for the most sub-par service theyve ever had. Wont be back here in a hurry.
Great place for a snack or coffee break from your High Park adventure.
Currently under construction. Limited in door access
Worst place ever
Soup was cold.
First time here, my friend and I went for breakfast and at the moment we went in was empty we thought ohh might not be that good, but it was all the opposite, great service, so friendly and in few minutes all the restaurant got full the special of the house is amazing you will love it!!! Great experience the waitress so friendly and kindly.
Reliable place for a snack or small meal inside the park. Nice selection of desserts.
Food is subpar and service was... ok. Atmosphere is the park. I like the park Food
I loved the food and the service!!
Quaint little cafe in the middle of the park. Great place to meet new people
Its quite good. Just find it pricey.
Staff was unfriendly and unmotivated. Patio and inside needs renovation.
excellent place to have a good time
Paid for an order that they messed up. Did not receive a full refund when I asked for my money back, and they kept the tip. Substandard service.
Good food. Pretty expensive. The planters outside are hung way too low though. I hit my head pretty hard on one.
Food was excellent service was good an view was amazing but to exspensive
For sure try their cherry pie,the most delicious pie I have ever had
We went to high park to have a hot dog at the black oaks cafe unfortunately it wasnt good we had to toss it out, feeling disappointed and hungry we stumbled on this amazing restaurant here by the zoo area we have the grill salad and burgers with frys its was amazing large patio area with amazing views of the park the service here was excellent and fast thank god for the grenadier cafe after walking for 3 hours in the park we were so hungry I love this place Ill definitely come back.
Great breakfast. The staff is excellent. Quick service. Nice area within the park. Free parking right by the restaurant.
Food was incredibly good, could use some more dairy free options / plant based options. As those options were very limited. Service was slow, the girl didn t really seem to know what was going on. There were plenty of seats available on the patio area. Parking: Lots available on a weekday afternoon.
Annoying that a city owned property is allowed to post propaganda about allowing cars into High Park. This is a place for people and wildlife, not vehicles.
Not as good as it used to be. Patio delivery no longer happens. Waited over 10 minutes to be seated in the dining patio area (3rd in line) and no one even came. So we opted for the take out - which used to be a number and delivery system but now you wait for your food.
Good Food, but not very cost effective for a big family. Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant. Food : 4/5 |
Basic breakfast. Nothing extraordinary. It was fine.
Went there to surprise our Brother and Sister in law for there 50th Anniversary Had a delicious breakfast There were 16 of us Staff handled all of us efficiently and with good humour Then went to High Park for family pictures
We had a company event at High Park a couple of days ago and Kristina from the Grenadier Group catered our event. She truly was a wonderful and very professional person to deal with. From the first interaction to the last, she made the whole catering process a breeze and it lifted much of the stress off my shoulders. The company event was a huge success because of her delicious food. I want to say a big thank you to The Grenadier Group as Kristina went above and beyond in their delivery and customer satisfaction!
Service was quick even though there was quite a queue, but the poutine used mozzarella instead of actual cheese curds which was pretty disappointing.
1st breakfast -My sausages and Eggs tasted old, I got over easy eggs and there was no yolk Today it was amazing got an Omelet Food
I came In with my wife Brenda a few days ago, as we were waiting for our food I saw rat! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. We both got the vegetable burger and fires. The fries made my wife and I sick and the vegetable burgers look as if u mushed some corn into a patty. UNBELIEVABLE This restaurant was so good a few years ago COMPLETELY FELL APART
Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was good, except for the hotdog. Overall, I recommend this place.
The food was meh.. I got the bacon grilled cheese. Not a good portion size. I will say they were accommodating for my friends peanut allergy. Dietary restrictions: Accommodating for peanut allergies
The poutine was not appetizing. The food looked sloppily made. It tasted fine, but not really special at all and the fries were flimsy. Honestly threw out the majority of it. Dietary restrictions: Peanuts only in the salads.
They never answer the phone and their voicemail is full. This is basic service. Please provide it
got a nice ice coffee here on a hot day. it was a bit overpriced which I guess is to be expected from the only (?) café in High Park.
Had a chicken club & fries today .. Very good .. Coffee is great .. Washrooms need a deep clean tho
A family favorite !!
A cafe with a tree in it! Some of the wrapped and packaged Ice cream is kosher (if it has the kosher symbol in it)
They hire bunch of rude kids and the prices are just ridiculous.
A great diner style restaurant in the park.
Quite disappointing with quality of their food, vanilla latte was cold, and the napoleon cake was not the freshest, (2 days or so old I would say with no crispiness at all). outdoor patio was at least nice. Paid 14+ with tax for it and not worth.
This Place is amazing My first time here thhe food tasted good the fries were heaven the soda options are good I wish they had coke over pepsi the burger was juicy and the portion sizes are big like I was full for the rest of the day I didnt ate dinner after also I went a second time I tried the chicken tenders kids meal it was so good juicy crispy fresh not frozen tasting and it was a big portion for a kid and it was Not bad also the service is great they are so kind to me and my grandpa they got us a seat they got our order fast and brought it pretty quick 10 minutes and on top of that when they did a mistake of bringing me a pepsi instead of a diet pepsi they were actually sorry unlike other place they dont care ok maybe some other place do care but not as much as them They take this seriously This is one of the best restaurants I have ever had 4/5 Stars Great food and service just wish the prices were A little bit cheaper my burger meal was 20$ and my chicken tenders kids meal was 14$ Over all really good
A nice part of any High Park outing.
Absolutely a rip off , order a hamburger for 15.00 aprox and ask for a tomato or lettuce you will be so happy to find out they don t put lettuce and tomatoes on their burgers lol , ordered a noodle soup for 8.00 and got half a bowl , like literally a size for a child. To top it off I was complaining about lettuce and tomato and the girl worker gave me so much attitude, I decided to get a refund and was told no refunds haha, believe me I got my money back very quickly. If management cared about this business this place would be perfect for a day or night experience. Unfortunately it s not.
Today they were short staffed for servers. The individual who served me was unfailingly polite and friendly, and very efficient. I was impressed.
The chicken sandwich club was excellent. Highly recommended
A bit of a tired restaurant with decent food and service. The location however is perfect for a walk through gardens before or after.
service and atmosphere are great, but their avocado toast was inedible
Delicious! Great options for vegans.
I made reservations for my crew at the cafe while filming in high park. The service was some of the best weve received throughout the past few days of filming. The food was great, and again, cant say enough good things about the service.
Funny, I was passing by the restaurant & I saw a woman with a stroller and a corgi dog coming out of the place so I felt confident enter with my dog immediately after to order something quick to go (I checked the doors for any not allowed sign but I saw none). Anyway, once inside, someone came to tell me dogs are not welcome inside, not even to place an order . I mean, no problem, but a sign or the same treatment for all dogs would be nice. Just saying.
We were super pleased with the service. I ordered a pea meal on a bun and wasn t aware it comes with ham. The staff was kind enough to switch my wrong order to another meal. Highly appreciate the gesture.
Disappointing. I can t believe Grenadier Cafe does not have any vegan options! Well, except for fruits. What about sweets of the earth cookies or pastries or maybe something they could bake too? Just a thought: do get more People who can t have dairy
Bacon eggs were over priced and so greasie...never again
Was outside on the patio with my parents, uncles and aunts for my moms 80th birthday. Access for wheel chair is excellent
Great all day breakfast Great service.
Super friendly dinner type of place, good food for a reasonable price
They messed my order. My order was a black coffee
Service sucks, took 20 mins to get 3 cappuccinos which to my surprise was pretty decent, blueberry scone was dry and crumbly AF. The day was gorgeous and we were sitting outside which was lovely. Wish there would be more places to eat at High Park.
It s a very strange policy when you can t go to a cafe in the park for coffee with a dog, even in your arms.
A good range of food at reasonable prices.
Cute atmosphere, poor service. The women at the coffee counter was visibly annoyed when I asked for a cup of water with my $11 order, and she absolutely tipped herself then gave me the machine.
This place charges way too much. $20 for toast, some soup and a coffee.
Great Parking: Cant used parking on the weekend Food : 5/5 |
