French inspired brunch diner menu with an Asian twist by Chef Lanny
The eggs Benedict chicken and waffle special was incredible. Everything tasted super fresh and light. Only minus was that my partner got their food so far ahead of me that they'd basically finished by the time I got mine. None the less it was well worth the wait and we'll definitely be back.
The food here is excellent! The breakfast bowl is definitely worth the money! Cute decor and the wait is not long if you arrive before 12. The seasonal menu is a fun idea too! The lavender latte was good but alittle expensive! I would definitely recommend it if you can splurge alittle!
I had a bruch with my besties during this summer. We got a table at the patio. We ordered avocado toast, french toast and omellet with mushroom and iced lattes. They took almost an hour 30 mins to get the first 2 latte and the last one took almost 45 mins...the server kept saying it is on the way...and ended up telling me they have no glasses... The food also took almost an hour. The food were not bad but the server was awful. She never checked on our table and it was soooooo hard to get her attention. We almost felt like she was ignoring us on purpost. I don't think I will go back to this place ever again.
Great place for some respite from the busyness of the city! They have a lovely patio area at the back that is quiet and peaceful. Our absolute favourite was the peanut butter french toast.
The best brunch spot in Toronto! I bet you’ve never had Bennies like these! The hint of yuzu in the hollandaise sauce makes the dish not only unique and special but also incredibly delicious. So far, I’ve tried the Fried Chicken & Waffle, Chicken & Roasted Pear Benny on Croissant, The Mission Salad, and French Toast. Every single dish was fantastic! I’ll definitely keep coming back every week to treat myself and try everything on the menu.
First time trying this brunch spot, cute design. However the whole experience wasn’t pleasure and I m very disappointed🥹 Firstly, the service wasn’t good. I arrived at 12:45, and have waited at least 10mins to have someone come and serve us. But they did have table available at that time just needed to be cleaned. I understand they are busy, they have 6 staff but no one came to serve people who are waiting, even though there was a line waiting (at least 6 people). I couldn’t feel any care from the staff in restaurant. Secondly. Food. I have waited one hour to get my eggs benny plate. The portion is surprisingly small. Look at the photo, it’s like someone stole the half of it. But it cost 19$. The chicken waffle was just OK. The fried chicken itself tasted not flavorful enough.
Went for the first time for breakfast today and it was so good! I had the Japanese Beef Eggs Benedict and my partner got the Banana Paradise. Would 100% recommend either of these dishes. The service was friendly and our food came out so fast. We’ll be back for sure 🙂
Best breakfast I’ve had in Toronto. Came back the next day for another. The open avocado on citrus soda bread with a poached egg was amazing. I gather they make the soda bread themselves (would love that receipe). The second one I had was an eggs Benedict, came with a lovely slice of watermelon - nice touch. A Japanese twist to some of the dishes - makes them more interesting. Worth the taxi ride to get here. V mellow experience.
I really enjoyed my experience here. Everything was very well executed and we will definitely be coming back if we are in the area. Flavours were nice and light not too overwhelming for breakfast. Our server was very sweet and kind! Thank you
Exceptional food and service. I recommend the pancakes and the chicken&waffles
Great LITTLE breakfast spot. Food and service was great, really enjoyed our food and would happily come back. However this is a very small location with limited tables, great for couples or a single person having a meal but would not really recommended for groups
I would not recommend the oatmeal pancakes. The flavor and texture were disappointing. Severs are great but the space is super super cramped
Great independent eatery. Friendly owner. Sophisticated café food menu.
A Diamond in the ruff eatery!!! The food is incredible!!!! Its so awesome!! I highly and I mean highly recommend you come her for a very enjoyable non pretentious gastro experience!!!
Absolutely amazing food and service Definitely recommend Food
Excellent brunch spot! Everything we tried was delicious!!
Went in for brunch and was given a delicious breakfast with a great/ unique coffee. Staff was very friendly! Will definitely be back :)
Got the Japanese beef Benedict and it was good but the coleslaw was super bitter I don t think it was either fresh or too ripe. Also, they didn t really give enough of the crispy potatoes (which have an awesome seasoning). Got a massive cookie to go and it was super hard and not fresh, maybe was baked the day before but not that morning. Anyways - 3/5 is pretty much on par here, wouldn t come back or recommend to friends it s just not good enough quality to compete with the options around. Servers were nice and we liked the vibes but you ll be disappointed by the actual food.
Awesome brunch place! Would recommend their French toast
Best brunch ever! Everything was so delicious and made in the house, great experience with a cozy atmosphere.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Both dishes we ordered were delicious, the service and ambiance were great, and the prices were quite reasonable.
The chicken waffle is excellent
Tasty brunch faire with a French influence.
Slow service. Got food before drinks/coffee.
The food and service were excellent, but the air conditioning wasnt working, and we were uncomfortably hot
My favorite place for brunch; at least once a week, I have to come. The blueberry pancakes are the best, as well as the eggs Benedict with pulled pork and croissant. All the staff are friendly, and the guy who prepares the drinks is so kind. I strongly recommend the signature lemonade and iced blue dirty coconut latte. So happy I found this cozy place
Great eggs Benny.
Wow, this is a hidden gem! The food was amazing, the place is nice and the service is also great. Couldnt ask for anything more :)
I won t come back. Terrible experience. Waiting for the bill for now 15 minutes. Didn t receive what we ordered. No water since we sat down. Lukewarm coffee served. The photo is the view of my table for the past 15 minutes. Now standing up to pay the bill.
Went here a couple weeks ago after the Flower Market. Ordered an eggs benny with pulled pork and it was good. I admire the creativity of the dish (a rosti compared to your traditional english muffin). However, the service could be better. We sat in the patio area and the place wasnt busy at all, but we had to go inside to the front to ask if we can place our order. We had to do this a second time when the waitress did not bring the milk we requested for coffee. Overall, its a cute place and the food is pretty good. Service can be better though.
Food is legit 3.5/5. Ordered the croissant Benny and the croissant was too crispy and no longer soft. Everything else is pretty nice. Patio tables can be a bit wonky.
Firstly, I will say that the staff were very friendly but I was very disappointed in this place. The reviews made me think I was going to have the best brunch in the city and it was not great at all. The food lacked salt and flavour, the croissant was given to us cold with the big breakfast, the ketchup tasted so weird and not like ketchup at all. The $25 for this breakfast plate felt extreme. The chairs are very uncomfortable and the tables are very small (think outdoor small space wooden furniture). This place has a lot of potential but I was really disappointed.
Came here for breakfast this Sunday morning and everything was delicious! It was pretty quiet around 9am and then it got busy as we were leaving. Highly recommend the Japanese beef.
The chicken waffles, pancakes and waffle were delicious! Simone took great care of our table.
LOVE LOVE LOVE. What a great place to eat. I had the crab cake eggs benedict and it was the best crab cake and best eggs benedict Ive ever had. The toasted marshmallow latte is a must have! We had a reservation and got a table right away but there is limited seating and they get busy so make sure you have a reservation!
Place is small so better to reserve your table in advance. The food and coffee were delicious, but the food was a bit too rich for me. If youre looking for a very nice, but heavy breakfast, this is the place.
Great brunch spot. Really liked the chicken and waffles.
Food not bad, coffee no good. I don t know why I have an extra Beverage HST and why the 13% HST is not 13%, but 13.5% lol Food
Horrible experience, over priced, mediocre food and extremely rude owner! She started screaming at her employee in front of us and make us very uncomfortable and then arguing with us!! Also, they charge you a fee if you pay with card! Who does that at a restaurant?!!!
Awful experience! the food is visually appealing but tasted below average! and the seating was so uncomfortable. The owner s behavior only worsened our visit; she openly yelled at our server for no reason and argued with us rudely, clearly lacking proper training in hospitality. Also extra charge if you re paying with card!
The owner of this place doesn t know anything about hospitality. She was extremely rude to us and also started yelling at her own employee in front of us( only for telling us we can park our bikes in the back!!!!!) which was a very uncomfortable situation. And when we politely gave her feedback at the end, she continued arguing with us without any apology for the very bad experience she created for us. On top of that, the seats were uncomfortable, the food was just average and they charged us a fee for paying with card as if paying 13% tax is not enough. We asked about the reasoning and the owner responded: this is how we do it here . I wouldn t ever recommend this place to anyone. I d take my business somewhere that they appreciate and respect their employees and their customers, any day. Update after the owner s response: this is exactly what I mean by the owner doesn t know basics of hospitality . First thing you need to do is to be polite with your guests. The owner could politely told us sorry you can t park here and we would ve been fine. We didn t insist or forcefully entered the property- we asked for permission. And yet the owner is still being rude in their response here lol We didn t lie to anyone, and certainly didn t scratch anyone s car!!!! We were 3 people in pouring rain who kindly asked if we can leave our bikes (not motorbikes) somewhere that s safe because we don t have the key to our locks and that person said yes you can park in the patio on the back alley. It was POURING RAIN and no guest would even consider sitting outside and they didn t even have the staff to serve outside. The tables were not set either. I literally waited 15 minutes for my bill because they couldn t figure out a single receipt. And yet the owner is here writing nonsense instead of apologizing or spending some time taking some training about the business she is in. And btw we were not rude to you at all. We gave you feedback but you couldn t take it. *Learn more about hospitality*
We were served by a really sweet lady (I think she was the owner?) and both got the chicken waffles. It was sooo YUMMERS, we loved it. Thank you!!!
Great place (brunch menu). Had chicken and waffles and avocado toast. Cute vibe, great food.
Eggs Benedict breakfast was delicious
I don t understand the awesome reviews. My friend and I were so excited to try the creative eggs benny but they fell completely flat. We both got our order on a croissant which was hard as a rock and impossible to cut and/or bite. It was oddly over toasted but not at all flaky like a normal overdone croissant. The flavours also just didn t go together. The home fries were seasoned well but still needed ketchup the ketchup was either just an interesting flavour I didn t enjoy or had actually gone off. The only redeeming part of this brunch was maybe the small portion of coleslaw. My plate came with a slice of watermelon which was somehow warm. The establishment itself was very small and quaint which could have been lovely but you could see filthy rags hanging here and there and one of the waiters kept eating A&W while handling people s food. It was definitely an experience but would not recommend and we actually regret going here. The concept is lovely but the execution is lacking. I love to support small businesses but as a foodie I have to be honest and say that this was one of my worst brunch experiences.
Excellent service. Very delicious food. The guy with the drinks is very friendly and attentive. Ill definitely be back, I recommend the chicken and waffles
This place has AMAZING food. Like surprisingly delicious food for brunch and dinner! Every time I ve dined here it s been great. The only thing is the atmosphere and vibe if the decor and vibe could be picked up a bit then this would be a can t miss spot. Regardless, it s still great food!
amazing place thank you!
Decent food reasonable price and nice service. The only problem is they only have one server and he seemed extremely busy.
Very nice brunch spot. Amazing pancakes
Delicious brunch food in a café setting.
First time visiting The Mission Eatery and I can only say that for sure exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a place to have breakfast/brunch and I was pleasantly surprised! Everything super delicious!! I will be for sure coming back. I recommend the pancakes, holy moly they were amazing.
Finally visited this place after reading great reviews. Ordered the below : - Mushroom melt omlette with rosti 9.5/10 it was sooo good. - Strawberry banana smoothie 7.5/10 would have been better a lil sour. - Crab cake on the side 8.5/10 really nice. Also wanted to ordered pancakes but so full had to keep it for next time. Definitely worth visiting this place..!!
I had French toast, and it looked prettier and tasted better than I expected. It was no ordinary French toast, with various flavors of jam and sauce! It was sweet enough to eat for brunch, savory because of the almonds, and soft because of the cream. However, the disappointing thing is that the portions were a bit small and the interior of the store was small, so it felt a bit stuffy. Still, I think it s a good brunch restaurant overall!
It was a pleasure gift to me and my friend to enjoy this place. The food is amazing, the place is so comfortable and the server was so kind and polite. Ill be back again 5
Wonderful little brunch spot. Tasty and thoughtful dishes. Will return!
Food was delicious, place is too small
Seriously some of the most delicious food Ive ever had. I enjoyed the crepe papillon and the eggs Benedict and it was far beyond my expectations. The location itself is also quite cozy. Absolutely worth eating at.
Recently discovered this cozy gem on queen street and it was such a delight. I went for the brunch and immediately seated. I always have my favourite Eggs benny on my birthday & honestly was always disappointed with most big restaurants in downtown until I found this one. I decided to have Eggs Benedict-Avocado & Mushroom on bread. The plating was clean & inviting. Eggs were perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was just . The salad dressing was a perfect balance of sweet & tangy. The potatoes were nicely seasoned & roasted. Everything on the plate was delicious at its best and really hit the spot. This was a beautiful culinary experience & I m so glad that I finally found a restaurant for my eggs benny cravings. The server Esther was really pleasant and kindly gave me a complimentary cookie for my birthday. I was really happy with the whole experience & definitely will go again to try weekend lunch soon. Delicious food, exceptional service, cozy vibe and good value of money is all what this restaurant is. Definitely recommended!
Horrible espresso. Overcooked steak. Uncomfortable seat. Food : 1/5
Probably one of the most fulfilling breakfasts Ive had in Toronto in a LONG time... The space is cozy; I can imagine it to be very full during weekends but we were there midweek and it wasnt very busy. The food was delicious... Our breakfast orders came with an entire side platter that we had no idea about; needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was lovely and prompt...Will definitely be back!!
Delicious!!! Cozy atmosphere Friendly service Exceeded expectations Food : 5/5 |
The food was great! I got an avocado melt omelette which was delicious. Taking away a star because the coffee arrived lukewarm and no refills were offered.
The crab benny with rosti was amazing. This place is very clean with awesome service. Ive tried a lot of brunch places and this one is one of the best.
One of the best brunch spots ever in the city. I highly recommend it !
Great simple place. Service was excellent. Most items are fresh baked and produced locally. The omelette was great and the side of apple slaw was delicious!
Crispy and flavourful fried chicken. Really love the apple fennel slaw. Sooo refreshing.
Had the Fried chicken and waffles for a later breakfast. The portion size was bigger then I was expecting which is always a bonus. It was good overall. Waffle was ok but something was off for me. The fried chicken was great and moist which is important. Great service and chill vibe. Parking: Lots of paid parking in the lot. Kid-friendliness: Lots of food kids would love.
Unreal food. Cute spot. Great service.
Great brunch, both food and service, in this cozy spot. When I ordered the big breakfast, our server suggested we move to a bigger table and she was right because my breakfast came on a plate as well as a tray. It was the perfect brunch for me as it had both savory and sweet items eggs your way, blueberry pork sausages, and an assortment of housemade items including bread, 2 jams, maple butter, and a cute little jar of yogurt with jam and granola. Delicious! Tiramisu latte was a yummy treat too! My hubby also enjoyed his eggs Benedict served on Rosti rather than bread. Btw the blueberry pork sausages have actual blueberries in them! Wish I had a pic but I ate them up so fast
Great service, very good food! Would recommend to anyone looking for good, affordable and reliable brunch place. Everything is house made and I was able to apreciate the quality of every ingredients. 10/10 experience.
Fantastic experience! We sampled a variety of dishes including Benedict, chicken waffle, omelette, scrambled eggs, croissant (and ofc there are more on the menu!), and everything was fantastic. Particularly loved the consistency of the crispiness of both the waffle and the fried chicken. Satisfying (Chefs kiss)! The Mimosa was also delicious. Prices were reasonable. Ill definitely come back here again!!!
So impressed with brunch! Delicious food that is well presented. Staff are super friendly. Will definitely return and refer.
The service was absolutely incredible. Everyone was attentive and genuinely kind. Our server took the time to explain the menu, the food came out very fast, and our coffees were always full. The food was delicious. It came with a little bit of everything. Everything was fresh, homemade, and unique.
Nice portions, food felt like it was made with love. The eggs Benedict with the chicken sausage was so good, especially with the sofa bread. Friendly staff, cozy & quiet space to grab brunch by yourself or with a few friends. Can t wait to come back.
Great spot on queen. Great food, generous salad portion, lovely soda bread. Very cute and friendly staff!
Food presentation is amazing, very colorful and creative. Taste is very good. Portions are very generous. The chefs definitely put alot of work in this perfection. Variety of interesting dishes. Definitely coming back! Thanks. Parking: $3 for 1 hour
This was the best breakfast I have ever had. Everything is made in-house right down to the jams. We will definitely be back
This place is a hidden gem in the queen west area. The food, drinks, and the ambiance were all excellent. Hands down the best brunch I had in Toronto! PS: Try their chicken waffle and ask for their homemade hot sauce, its seriously addictive.
A hidden gem in the Trinity Bellwoods. Great ambiance and vibe. We got the fried chicken waffle, avocado toast and chicken pear patty Benny. Generous portion and everything is served to perfection and plated artistically, very creative menu and flavour profile. A big bonus is their homemade condiments. The nitpick I have is the knife being too blunt and hard to use so my Benny was ripped into pieces. We reflected the issue to the restaurant they were very receptive about it. Overall great dining experience with reasonable pricing for what was served.
Absolutely in love with this place! Food is delicious, healthy and reasonably priced. Clean and very cute decor. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Amazing brunch spot that my friends and I always like to make a date out of!
The brunch was excellent. Highly recommend the avo + mushroom benny. Place is tiny in the winter so make a reservation !
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! I recommend the mushroom melt and French toast!
A very good choice for lunch and dinner on queen st.
This is a cute little restaurant. The staff were friendly and service was quite good. The food is beautifully presented, but the quality of the ingredients (especially the chicken) was poor and the food did not sit well. I think it was undercooked. Their coffee is terrible. I had a cortado, but the milk was not frothed and I ended up with espresso with milk, which i did not finish. I tried their regular brew and was equally disappointed. The seating is crowded and uncomfortable, everyone is really close to one another and have to move their chairs/selves to let people in and out. I would not go back. In response to the restaurant: I take writing reviews very seriously, as you can see by the many very generous reviews I leave for small business all over the world. While I appreciate the time and effort you put into your menu and establishment, my experiences are valid. The food did not sit well and the quality of meat was questionable. Perhaps it was an off day? Regrading the coffee- I do not use Starbucks as a baseline for comparison, but the countless independent coffee shops I frequent. Cortados are my favourite (and not even available at Starbucks). A cortado is made with frothed milk, which is not what your served. While I appreciate that 3 star reviews are not ideal, my experience at your establishment is valid. If slimy poor quality chicken and poorly prepared coffee is not how you usually conduct business, say so rather than place the blame on the consumer. Use feedback as constructive ways to grow. Based on your response, I have lowered my review. Customer service should always be a goal.
Delicious! Can t wait to go back
This is a little gem in the heart of Toronto! Great place for some creative gourmet meals at a reasonable price. The mood inside the restaurant is quite nice and I felt pleasantly isolated from the busy-ness of Queen Street. The food was hearty and tasty with presentation levels and garnishing rivaling much more upscale restaurants. The staff were also very friendly, accommodating and responsive! Vegetarian options: Vegan options available.
Cozy little place with FABULOUS food and service! The brunch menu reads like a very typical brunch menu however, tastes unique. Extra props for being quick, the place was full when we went in, and we still got our food within 5-10 minutes of ordering.
Update: came in again and this time remembered to take a photo - albeit after demolishing half my meal Japanese beef sandwich - very good. Salad tastes like spring. Really good Came in randomly for a bite. Was surprised to see that pretty much everything was made in house - from the blueberry sausage patty, right down to the dang ketchup!!! Tasty. Ordered the fried chicken after my meal. So good - crispy, light, perfectly flavoured smoked honey that wasn t overbearing. So good. Will return and update this review, but for now 5-stars in my book. Also, they sell a very, very nice French tea (Damman) at a *very* reasonable price.
Very flavourful food and drinks
I have no photos because we devoured the food. The eggs Benedict with chicken and pear sausage was amazing. I was so impressed their ketchup is homemade. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my meal and will return. Thank you!
Overpriced as hell , barely any coffee in the latte, $20 for wonderbread sandwich with stale waffle fries
Really great quality food and all homemade. Came out really fast and great service! Good portions and really tasty
Awesome unique take on Japanese fusion brunch. Service was a bit slow. Server wasnt very helpful but all around delicious and fairly priced.
The afternoon tea included a beautiful selection of delicious sweet and savoury treats. The attention to detail and excellent service made this a fantastic overall experience.
Everything about the mission was phenomenal. A true hidden gem on Queen St. that should not be skipped. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Just fantastic! All the food and the drinks are incredibly tasty. Applause for the chef. Highly recommended, indeed.
Amazing Brunch! My favorite restaurant so far in Toronto! Also, the owner is the best!
Delicious food! Loved the chicken & waffles and the eggs bennedict with blueberry patty. The owner is super kind and really cares about putting the best food on your table. Best small restaurant Toronto!
Just left this restaurant without eating or drinking anything! Apparently my tables order was lost, after waiting an hour they finally came around to our table asking us if they could take our order for the second time. The front of the restaurant is small they saw us sitting there with no drinks or food for an hour. Terrible service, extremely disappointing mothers day brunch
Nice environment, good service and very tasty dishes! I highly recommend the Queen Salad - its very unique and rich in the ingredients used. I dont usually order salads when dining out but this dish really changed my impression with salads.
I had a delicious homemade brunch! I would highly recommend this place. The service was very quick, the food is amazing and coffees are perfect.
The best brunch ever, good menu, cozy place, warm atmosphere, nice patio, perfect employees
gr8 services, food
Every time you come downtown, you must eat delicious food
Ive walked by this place many times and never knew how good the food was, until today! I got take out and had their eggs benedict with blueberry sausage and citrus dill soda bread. It was amazing and they also had waffle fries and coleslaw on the side with their own ketchup. I will definitely be back again but to dine in with friends and family. I hope its jam-packed every weekend, because they deserve it!! Thank you.
Good strong coffee!
Just happened to see this place and walked into a wonderful experience. Sat in the back yard patio that is so cute and had a delicious lunch. Very friendly here. Love it!
The food was delicious and phenomenally presented. The environment resemble a quiet cafe somewhere out of Europe. Good place to sit and chat. Excellent job.
Egg benny is always my first choice. I got the Japanese beef.. It taste good but beef portion is a bit small. My friend had the pulled pork on rosti. It could have been better if the rosti was crispy enough. At that time the wait time for food is a bit long, noticed there is only 1 cook in the kitchen. But our server was so nice and friendly.
Nice ambience, but pricy! The patio was lovely and cute Hard working and friendly staff...such a pity it was above our budget :) Atmosphere : 5/5
Can t say enough good things about The Mission Eatery. From the food to the service everything was top notch. My husband and I both ordered the benny, one with crab and the other chicken and we both left beyond satisfied.
First time here. Walked past this place TONS of times before. Nice little small French inspired, Asian infused restaurant. Place is a bit small but they do have a back patio with additional seating available. Server was competent and friendly enough. Looks like the chef is also the owner. Food took a long time to come out even though there were only 2 other tables. Food was good! I really enjoyed it, even their water is cucumber and lemon infused! I got the eggs Benedict with pulled pork and rosti as the base. Pulled pork was good, soft and tender and also moist and flavourful, rosti on the other hand was over powered by the rosemary. Side note, things got a little awkward when the chef and waitress started to have what sounded like a little bit of a heated discussion that should have been kept behind closed doors and not within earshot of the patrons. Overall I was still pleasantly impressed with this place and may return in the future if I am looking for some brunch nearby. I also do recommend to those in the areatp give this place a try if you are craving brunch and are in the area.
Excellent place for brunch! It has a nice patio where you can bring your pet. The Japanese Beef Sandwich is a delight and also, simply delicious and a Rose Lychee soda to go with it! 100% recommended. The service is excellent, a very pleasant place to spend time alone or with friends.
Service is really good. Provided exactly what I want. Really satisfied.
Friendly server, tasty food, excellent service, great atmosphere, its a very good choice if you go to downtown place.
loved the eggs Benedict - it was perfect. The salad/coleslaw that came was vibrant and outstanding.
Made a weekend brunch reservation for a group visiting from out of town and we were not disappointed coming here! The service is fast enough considering we were a group of 6, the staff are kind and helpful, and the food is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also delicious. We ordered the steak and cheese omelette, french toast, and multiple orders of eggs benny with pulled pork and rosti and were very happy with our decisions. The restaurant s atmosphere is also inviting, colourful, and homey. It is small, but they have a back patio that seats more customers! Would come here again!!
The Japanese beef sandwich is superb!
The food was amazing and big portions too
Very nice and chill place for brunch, food tasted great, the Japanese beef sandwich was top notch! Coffee was not as good as expected, but overall recommend for brunch!
Very small unassuming spot with a cosy back patio and excellent food and friendly service! We tried several small dishes and all were delicious, as well as two dessert options which were amazing! Highly recommended!
Great brunch spot, food was amazing and service was excellent!
The dinner here is amazing, had the chicken alfredo pasta and the mission salad, and I was really impressed with the flavours. I absolutely loved the mission salad, it had a mix of half a dozen ingredients anchored with brussel sprouts, but the texture and flavour is just superb. Definitely a great find.
5 stars for the food : egg benny on hash brown potatoes and Irish sofa breads .. Kiss the hands of the chef; however, stealing 2 stars from the overall rating. I believe the restaurant can work with some constructive criticism and work on operational side of things. The staff members are fairly inexperienced and this one member was fairly rude for no reason. Additionally, price points of certain items on the menu were on the higher side. (E.g., 9.5 C$ for an extremely small glass of mango drink!) The owner/ management might as well take a look at the prices in the menu or the sizes of the glasses again. There is ample scope for improvement as the restaurant location, the insides, and the backyard (turned into a patio) are fairly nice.
Best brunch in Toronto!!! We had such a lovely experience! The food was incredible, they were super friendly to our dog (even brought her some water), the environment was peaceful with great songs, and everything was even more amazing thanks to the service, especially Morgane: she deserves a raise! We will be loyal customers from now on
Simple foods, made from scratch and perfectly prepared. Great coffee, too!
One of the best brunch restaurants on queen street!
I really enjoyed this little hidden gem, especially the backyard patio! I had a freshly baked croissant which was so fresh and warm! 10/10 - with freshly squeezed orange juice. I ordered an espresso also which I didn t enjoy as I found the coffee beans quite bitter. The service was a little slow at first but my own server was super fast and helpful - I could tell he was under pressure from his manager in the front when I walked in. Over all I will be back here - to try the chicken and waffles this time!
Fantastic food. Great backyard patio. Great service.
Absolutely amazing experience! Service was friendly and fast. The food was honestly the best breakfast food Ive had thus far. My sister and I both were really impressed with the simple but elegant meals. I got the wine and stew crepe and crab cake. My sister got the eggs Benedict on Japanese steak with smoked trout on the side. Literally no complaint everything was perfection.
ordered the chia seed pudding, rose lychee tea, house drip coffee (added milk), mission salad and an omelette $20-30 per person reason for rating: food is good, cute little patio in the back (not their fault) but we went on a day where they were training for the CNE flight show so it was quite loud outside. They also charge a fee to use the terminal fee. I forgot how much the terminal fee was but bring cash with you if you can
First off the place had a nice trendy vibe but everything else brought any good from the atmosphere much lower. The place wasnt very busy but still the amount of time it took to get help from the wait staff took much longer than expected, at least we had good company to keep us distracted from the overly long wait times and forgotten order. I drink a lot of coffee and espresso. Im even a trained barrista...I received by far the worst Americano I have ever had. It tasted like it was made of burnt ashes. Perhaps it was their choice of espresso beans that made it god awful but it was probably a mix of bad choice in beans, an unclean espresso machine and their barristas inability to make a good drink. This is the first time I have ever sent a drink back and told them not to replace it. My partners iced Macha latte tasted like water, so at least they were consistent. I ordered a steak and cheese omelette which was disappointing to say the least. $24 for the tiniest amount of egg and maybe 2 ounces of over cooked steak . The potatoes tasteless aside from a pinch of salt. The only good thing on the plate was the apple slaw which was mediocre. We went because its rated 4.8 and the reviews say the food is great. My rating of 2 is based off of quantity of food, which was lacking, quality of taste which if not for that horrible coffee whos taste I couldnt get out of my mouth no matter what I tried, would have been mediocre at best. Seriously that should have been priced at 12-14$. A side note though my partner ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict which was ok. The crab cake was pretty tasty but again portion size for the price paid as well as overall enjoyment and taste it should have been priced at around $14.
Such an underrated spot. Definitely a gem in the city!
Had a mushroom omlet with apple fennel slaw. Excellent food, nice atmosphere.
Great food with passion and reasonable price. Highly recommended.
My friends and I recently dined at the restaurant located at 676 Queen St W in Toronto, and it was an exceptional experience. We tried the Egg Benedict - Chicken & Pear Sausage and Fried Chicken & Waffle, and I must say, it was a delightful culinary journey. The Egg Benedict - Chicken & Pear Sausage was a visual treat. The food plating was not only beautiful but also set the stage for a delicious meal. The poached egg was perfectly cooked, with a delightful medium-rare yolk that I personally adore. The sauce drizzled over the egg added a subtle and elegant touch to enhance the eggs flavor, without overpowering it. What truly stood out was the rosti base, which was both crispy and flavorful, serving as an excellent foundation for the dish. The salad dressing was impeccable, striking a harmonious balance between sweetness and a refreshing lemony sourness that truly elevated the entire plate. As for my friends choice, the Fried Chicken & Waffle was equally outstanding. The combination of crispy fried chicken and fluffy waffles was a match made in heaven. It was a delightful blend of textures and flavors that left a lasting impression. Overall, our dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional. From the beautifully presented dishes to the impeccable flavors, its evident that this place takes great pride in its culinary creations. I highly recommend trying their dishes, as they are a true testament to culinary artistry. We left with satisfied palates and a desire to return soon. This restaurant has certainly earned its place on our list of favorites in Toronto. In addition, Id like to mention that their service is excellent. The staff at this restaurant provides top-notch service, adding to the overall dining experience. Their attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and willingness to accommodate customers make the visit even more enjoyable. Its not just about the delicious food; its the combination of great cuisine and exceptional service that sets this restaurant apart. I hope this review captures your dining experience accurately!
I just had one of the best coffees in Toronto. Also loved the decoration and the staff. Highly recommended.
I stumbled upon this little gem while wandering around, and Im so glad I did! The cozy seating by the open window drew me in. They also have a patio in the backyard. With brunch served until 4 pm, I decided to try their Eggs Benedict on a croissant with blueberry pork sausage. It was delicious. Perfectly poached eggs with the yolk melting but the egg white being fully cooked, the Benedict sauce, and the choice of a croissant (they have three options!) was a winning combination. The sausage was also amazing. The dish came with a side of salad, potato fries, and fruits. The only thing I have to mention is that, on my second visit, the waiting time was too long, and the tap water didnt taste fresh.
Amazing food! We ordered a bunch of food and all of them were cooked to perfection. The Chicken Alfredo was the best I ve had over the years. The decor and music was also lovely and the server was very friendly. Definitely recommend!
Best brunch in the neighbourhood, this restaurant is a gem. Highly, highly recommend.
Cute little Cafè with amazing brunch!
Super delicious healthy breakfast! Great change from fast food everywhere else. Generous portions, but the price is absolutely reasonable. Very nice atmosphere and service
We loved this restaurant!! We were in town visiting our daughter and we wanted to go to a local restaurant. The menu choices along with the special of the day did not disappoint! We loved the fact that it is small and intimate setting and has a lovely outdoor seating area as well. We highly recommend Mission Eatery for its amazing menu and personalized service. You can see that the owner and her team put their heart and soul into each meal experience. Thank you Mission Eatery!!
Very cute spot with great brunch options. The Japanese beef eggs Benedict was fantastic.
The perfect brunch! Came here to celebrate my dad s birthday. The food was EXCELLENT, my mom said this was the best brunch she s ever had & I have to agree! 10/10 recommend - the service, the food . we ll definitely be back.
My friends and I had a really lovely experience here and I m so glad we stumbled upon it. We were describing the place as non pretentious. there s a Cozy vibe and the staff are really friendly. Service wasfast. We were all happy with our food . I loved my flat white. My friends loved the blueberry pork sausage. The music was old school Christmas music which made us feel like we were in the 1960 s. So cute!
Very small place. Reservations are recommended
Ordered Japanese beef eggs Benny and the chicken and waffles. The food was so yummy and a very good value ! The staff were super kind. Would love to go back ASAP.
I ordered Mission Cobb and it came with a large portion. I m happy to add avocado and crab cake as they tasted delicious. I finished the crab cake right away. It s very filling for one person, so I didn t order others. A bit pricey but I will come back for the brunch next time! Love the patio!
The food here is special to say the least and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I walked in for lunch after work and ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Perfect portion, very fresh and full of flavour. I will return to try other menu items. Do not miss this place, it s awesome.
We stopped by as walking past for their happy hour. Great cocktails for $10.
I had a very enjoyable breakfast here. Clearly an underrated brunch spot. The egg benny had great seasoning, and the house gravlax was great. This is a 6.3/10. My complain is the hollaindaise broke/ the egg yolk did not emulsify completey ( it was grainy in texture) I hope to try again the other dishes here. There are plenty seatings, with both outdoor and back patios.
Great food, amazing service!
Beautiful and delicious
Everything was so delicious and I had a great time! :)
The stuff were really nice! And everthing was so tasty! Highly recommend :)
High quality, creative and delicious selections. Service as good as the food.
Delicious food, truly outstanding for brunch. Cool patio with great vibes, great service. A real hidden gem!
a bit weird for a new restaurant to have 30+ uniformly 5-star reviews, usually for even an exceptional restaurant youd expect a bit more variance between individual experiences, good days and bad days, some people who are just difficult to please, etc. all I can really talk about is my own experience. the staff were kind and helpful. the breakfast dishes we ordered were pleasant (the rosti in particular were very good). the restaurant was very quiet at 10 am on a Sunday, which was a nice change from the hectic pace of toronto brunch. I ordered a flat white, which was very unusual- it looked and tasted as though it was drip coffee with milk in it rather than an espresso drink. unfortunately, Im reasonably sure that both my partner and I were made ill by the food. we mostly didnt eat the same items, and everything tasted fine, so Im not really sure what might have happened. this was the only food we had had that day. I really do not enjoy leaving a critical review, especially to an independent business that seems like theyre doing their best. I really hope my experience was a weird outlier and that other peoples positive experiences are more characteristic of what to expect.
I stumbled upon this lovely spot in July and returned for a lovely birthday dinner with friends in August on the beautiful and peaceful patio. The service, food and attention to detail were exceptional. A visitor from Paris marvelled at the artistic presentation of the sharing platters we ordered and especially loved the heavenly crab cakes. I strongly recommend The Mission Eatery to anyone who enjoys high quality food prepared with artistry and passion.
Ate brunch here twice in two days because we liked it so much. Awesome food, generous portions, great patio, cool atmosphere, the price was right, and super friendly and accommodating staff! Do yourself a favor and eat here!
Amazing atmosphere and food. Recommend the tofu small plate and the crab cakes. Also best Belgian beer selection I ve seen in Toronto. Chimay and Duvel.
The most delicious chicken Caesar that I have ever had. The chicken was cooked very good.
Vivian and the staff are so amazing and the food is out of this world. We chose the rear patio and it was a bit chilly so they provided us with blanket.
My service was kind and the food was so delicious, light and clean. My food tastes bright, and gourmet. The jam- was home made, the beet cured gravlax was delicate and the rosti was crispy but not heavy. Oh my goodness and the maple butter- was a delight. I was shocked at how full I was when I portions, also the meal I got was gluten free.
Very impressed by this new brunch spot! We just happened to walk by and decided to come here. There is a small cute patio in the back if you prefer outdoor seating. The menu options are unique and well thought through, with vegetarian options as well. The presentation of our brunch was very aesthetic. The servers were also very kind. Portion sizes depends on what you get. Eggs Benedict is not super big, but the pancakes are huge. The croissant that my eggs Benedict was served on was super crunchy and flakey!! Prices are reasonable, reflecting the quality of the food.
Beautiful presentation! Great taste! Would come back again! I got open face avocado toast. Loved the the salad dressing.
I really enjoyed my meal! The crab cake was delicious! The meal was a good portion size and thoughtfully put together. The service was friendly and efficient. The servers were trying their best to provide high quality service during a busy time. Glad I went.
The place is cute and the food is good; and it s presented in a playful way. When we went though, the service was not good. The food took more than 90 minutes to arrive. They server offered us cookies on the house, only to be told by the chef afterwards that she had to charge us for them or it would come out of her pocket. I think they need to work out a few kinks, and I hope they do as the place has potential.
Youll love the food if youre a hipster - Good value, taste great and very fresh. Excellent date spot, they have a beautiful patio at the back. Drinks are somewhat pricey, but not a problem if youre rich or a lady on date. Love their to Toyko Ice Tea!!! Definitely worth a try.
Really great food, lovely service. It sounds like the negative reviews below were a one-off. We received our food quickly!
Nice little place. If you go here, show up early or make a reservation. The only down side it took us an hour before getting our food after ordering.
Everything is so beautiful but honestly I think is way too expensive for what it is
Exceptional upscale brunch spot. We got the blueberry pork sausage Benedict and the chicken and waffles. The Benedict was rather small but made with very high quality ingredients and very tasty. The hash mixed with the sausage (and its hint of blueberry) and a lightly poached egg made for a delectable experience every bite. The chicken wasn t greasy and the maple butter and jalapeño smoked honey were shockingly flavourful and very gourmet compared to the standard fare. Exceptional service and attention to detail makes this place stand out among its peers. The atmosphere is all exceptional; we ate in the great backyard patio and it felt like we were in Montreal (where pretty much all food/service is better than Toronto)! You won t regret coming here.
Not only are the dishes homemade and taste super delicious , they are also created with attention to detail. We very much enjoyed the flavor of the Queen Salad, the Crabe Cake as well as the Crab Cake Sandwiches. I can really recommend The Mission Eatery. It was definitely worth the drive up from Brampton.
Amazing food
What a great little gem in Queen West. Delicious brunch and artistically presented. Great backyard patio.
Great staff and great brunch experience. The pineApple coffee was delicious!
Just go there, GO THERE! Everything is homemade even the ketchup, beat brunch I have ever had and those who have bad reviews are just insane.
Delicious treasure shop~
We really enjoyed this eatery today! We had a large group and were accommodated by a heated patio! They played music from a lantern very posh. The menu was sophisticated and enjoyable. Now to the food . The chicken and waffle was ok. The chicken was juicy and the waffle a bit dry. The pancakes on the other hand were moist and delicious. The steak omelette could have used a bit more steak but I was great too! Disclaimer I have a different palate I m From Va :)
The blue berry eggs Benny was made perfectly and with love.
Just found this place on Queen st. I had the chicken and waffle. It was really yummy! The chicken is crispy and tender at the same time. The maple butter is really good with waffle. Other dishes are also good. Seafood pasta and soba Noodle are also delicious. Staffs are kind and the place is cozy. I highly recommend here
Not just for brunch You have to try their drinks 10/10 staff 10/10 presentation 10/10 taste
Came across The Mission when walking on Queen and looking for some breakfast. Loved the place and enjoyed it so much. Great food and reasonable pricing. I had the French Toast which was amazing and we also had the eggs with rosti. The rosti were fabulous. Highly recommend this place.
My favourite brunch spot in the city. Everything is made in house and really fresh (even the ketchup is made in house). The crab cakes are to die for. Great service and ambiance.
Incredible, fresh ingredients with presentation as good as the taste. Amazing, highly recommend
Love the avocado ricotta toast.
Delicious brunch. I had the feast with crab cake and it was a very large meal. The table was almost too small! Service was a little slow but not a big deal, we were enjoying a relaxing Sunday. They charged credit card fee without telling me beforehand though. I think they should warn people before doing that.
