When Im getting Jamaican food, I want the pomp of a roadside cook up and the quality of a grandparents recipes- welcoming, simple and delicious. That is what you get here. Best salt fish and ackee Ive had in Canada (they actuallyhad 'food'!), great oxtail, very fair prices. Can't wait to go back! Reading other reviews It must be new ownership bc it was a clean venue and service was great! Fingers crossed bc the roach review is 🤯
I ordered a LARGE ackee AND SALTFISH but received a MEDIUM serving of JUST ACKEE in a large container… I shouldn’t be seeing the bottom of the container until I take food out but maybe if they got my order correct the saltfish would have filled in the rest😂🤦🏽♀️
The entire experience was excellent. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted and provided with guidance on what to order. I went with the jerk chicken on rice with plantains and coleslaw. The food was prepared quickly and it was incredible. It is very well priced and portioned. Looking at the other reviews we will most definitely be going back to try other dishes!
I ordered a curry goat (w/ rice and beans) and plantains. The meat was very tender, it was really flavourful and had a good amount of heat and spice from the first bite to the last. The rice and beans didn't have much flavour itself, but was able to absorb a lot of the curry sauce, which was great. The plantains were also really good too. The right amount of tenderness. Definitely will come back some time.
Service was terrible here we ordered takeout and when we got home... well the picture speaks for itself... yes that's a dead cockroach in our food. Avoid this place at all costs your health depends on it.
In many ways, it is just like being back down there. Which is a positive from where I sit. I've been a regular customer for about three decades, which should say something about how much I like Richard's (Trench's) food.

Very unprofessional! Says theyre open until 9 pm on google and until 9:30 on their door, I travel all the way here and theyre closed at 8:15pm complete waste of time
THE ACKEE AND SALT FISH WITH PROVISIONS WAS VERY TASTY 5/5. Jerk chicken with white rice was really good. Festivals were amazing!! Will be ordering again :) (food also arrived very hot and fresh)
This place is supposed to be open but the man was sitting watching tv with the door locked. I had an order to pick up that I PAID FOR already and he refused to get off his chair to open the door and give me my order. He sat there and waved me off. Disgusting place.

Super disappointed. Went to pick up an online order and the store was closed before 8 pm. It CLEARLY states it opens until 10 PM! Waste of time and gas. Do not recommend.

Do not use on the app to good to go. I got a rounded container filled with rice and few vegetable and 2 small piece if chicken. Supposed to be worth $15. What a joke

Great portions for price, food is fresh, cooked to perfection, & service is friendly. the space is very clean & multi-functional making transition from daytime lunch service to late evening DJ music playing, smooth & enjoyable. I will def come back again for lunch with the kids & listen to their live on radio sets as well.
I ordered two barbecued chicken meal on uber eats. I received fried chicken with watery barbecue sauce smothered on it. I am assuming they ran out of bbq chicken so they decided to give me fry chicken with watery bbq sauce on top. It was absolutely disgusting! If they ran out of barbecued chicken, why not notify me and/or cancel the order. Never again

ordered a steamed snapper fish and jerk chicken on ubereats. The snapper fish had no sort of seasoning only an excessive amount of black pepper. The jerk chicken was bland and some of the chicken wasnt well cooked.

Just started going here great tasting food but service is slow even when youre the only person in there I waited almost 30 minutes. Maybe telling your customer that it will be a while for whatever reason would be good.
They are really good, one of my go to places for Caribbean food. Owner is very friendly and is great. One of my favorite places for curry goat and oxtail.

Jerk chicken and rice and peas was very tasty. I wont say its the best jerk Ive had, but it was good. Fried plantain was good but the portion is very small. The festivals were too hard and not very tasty. I wont be ordering those again. All in all a decent place. If ordering for delivery, go through skip the dishes instead of uber eats.

I Ordered a Large oxtail from here through Uber eats and I guess that means just a ton a rice and peas and 4 pieces of oxtail . Worst portion for the value Ive ever had .
Great food and service. Would definitely try again. My only issue is that the same standard in store is not set for online delivery orders in terms of food quantity. In store you get way more food while when you order for delivery it s always minimum.

Was introduced to this place around 8yrs ago by a Jamaican friend. Best Jerk Chicken and Ox Tail in Toronto. Its like you went over to a grandmothers house in Jamaica.. real home cooking. The place leaves a lot to be desired when looking it, but dont let that deter you. This is one dive thats worth going to :)
