Fine-dining restaurant and wine bar.
A fantastic restaurant with clear intention and thought put into every dish. We had the Oysters with a cherry sauce, Duck Confit, and Shrimp and Lobster Tagliatelle. My god, everything was presented beautifully and tasted equally delicious. The pasta was perfection all around, and the duck confit had a masterful cook and crisp. Drinks were overall good. My only qualm is the Espresso Negroni. Between the taste, crushed ice, and glassware used, the flavours and feel just didn’t work, in my opinion. A classic Negroni would have worked just perfectly with this refined menu and I’d be very happy.
Really fantastic food. We had a wine by the glass, and the waiters were super helpful in helping us figure out what would pair well with the food. And the coziness of the inside was great. Will definitely be back
I just had a culinary experience!!...Tyler paired the beef tongue dish with an amazing glass of chilled red. I was left speechless. My recommendation is to let the servers guide your experience. This is a place chefs dine at. If you want to truly excite your palate come here.
Cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. Delicious food and a great selection of wine. I enjoyed every minute of being here.
Fantastic meal and great service. Everything we had was incredible. The restaurant is small/intimate so it wouldn’t be great for large parties, but for a group of 2-4 it’s perfect. Highly recommend!
Lovely atmosphere and service! Unfortunately the food was hit and miss. The duck and sardines were so good but the miso marinated mushrooms and lobster tagliatelle were so salty it was hard to taste any other flavors. The staff was super helpful and accommodating with a food allergy, even letting us know what dish would be lacking if we made any changes and any which would be good still! I really appreciate that!
Went in with some serious expectations. The food looks so good in pictures, it had my mouth watering. The taste though? Absolutely mediocre. The ambiance was great. Service was good too. Don’t think I’ll visit again though.
Cute spot with great gin cocktails. They have a small menu but everything we tried was very delicious. Trendy and cozy decor. It’s super small so you definitely have to make reservations.
One of our new favourite spots. The Rosebud is the perfect place for an intimate meal and or drink. Top tier service, cozy and lovely atmosphere, and the food is divine. Highly recommend for special occasions with loved ones, or a nice business dinner.
Good food but not exceptional Needs a lighter less meaty menu Food
We are TV sports
I came in with high expectations, as the photos looked fantastic. We specifically asked for less salt in our dishes, but they were still excessively salty. My mom couldn t finish her meal. When we mentioned this to the server, he didn t take any steps to address our concern. Overall, it was a disappointing experience; the food was mediocre, and I won t be coming back.
What a hidden gem! Truly amazing
Chef Tim is the best.
It has an interior vibe of a high end diner - cozy and nice decor. The menu is unique and the wine pairings are amazing ! A great place for a date or meeting a friend. It does not have a lot of space for big dinner parties.
Local gem
Had been waiting to have dinner here and it did not disappoint. We sat at the counter and the food, service and wine were all amazing. Duck and Scallop dishes were both tremendous. Great addition to the neighbourhood and we will definitely be back.
The Rosebud is special. The food is French classics done right, with small surprising and delightful twists. The space is intimate and cozy, and the restaurant feels hidden away even if its on King Street. The decor and cutlery all seem like they came from a wonderful antique treasure chest. The staff want you there and want you to enjoy yourself. I dine out a lot. This was my best new experience in months.
Ate here last night, and this place was amazing. Everything was spot on really delicious and the staff are fantastic I would highly recommend trying this place out. Recommended dishes
The food was very good but pricey as you can expect to need to order 2 dishes per person. When you add drinks, youre easily spending over $100 a person. I strongly recommend the XO shrimp.
Great atmosphere. Every dish was interesting. Great to watch the chefs cook. Absolutely worth it.
What a delight. Our server Haley elevated the experience with her fine recommendations and good humor. A true pro. My favorite was the tuna. Thoroughly enjoyed this seafood extravaganza.
What a treat: a new neighborhood bistro in Corktown with excellent food, service and atmosphere! Innovative sharing plates: we had venison tartare, lobster tagliatelle, albacore & scallops and cardamom panna cotta for dessert. Perfect meal for three. We were satisfied but not stuffed. We ll be back for our next special occasion.
Excellent food, Top Notch service, this place has a very retro vibe cozy
Inconsiderate restaurant that regularly allows delivery trucks/cars to illegally park on the sidewalk on Ashby Place. It s an ongoing issue, happens regularly, including today. People have to walk into the road and it creates a hazard at the intersection. Not community oriented or good neighbours, very disappointing. Menu looks terrible to me as it lacks vegan and vegetarian options.
Amazing local restaurant run by the most lovely folks. We had venison tartare, beef cheeks, and lobster tagliatelle - phenomenal all around. Martinis were top notch and service was bar none. Note: this is a cozy spot with great vibes where you can also hear yourself think and have an actual conversation. Bar seating is wonderful as the staff goes out of their way to engage with guests. So glad to have them as an option in the east end. I cannot recommend enough.
Lovely place great food and magnificent service. Love it .
Really enjoyed this meal! The lobster salad was a standout, but everything had really good balance and flavour combinations! Plus sitting at the bar gives you an excellent view of the kitchen which is really fun.
We got a seat at the bar which was great for watching how the kitchen is run. Daikon Panise was perfect but I didn t care for the Tagliatelle. I d definitely go back to try other items on the menu. Staff are super friendly and pleasant. Great place for a date night. Not so great for kids.
Excellent food in a cute location with pleasant service.
A cute spot on the east end. The food was excellent! It was very well done and with very reasonable price!
Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing! Loved my experience here, will definitely be going back.
Excellent apps, tasty mains and scrumptious desserts. The vibe is exactly what I need for a date night. Friendly, warm and chill. Thank you for opening in the neighborhood!
My partner and I had a wonderful first time dinner experience at the Rosebud last night. Weve lived in the area for many years, so it was nice to see this storefront get revitalized into an upscale restaurant that is within a few mins walk from our home. The staff were very friendly and made good suggestions on what to choose/pair from the menu. The food was fantastic, many wonderful flavours combined in unique ways. We ordered several dishes to share and even though portions were slightly small; when sharing a few of them, we were well satiated. The interior is warm and cozy, softly lit and not too noisy. Our only comment to the staff was that they should add some kind of small neon sign to the window to make it obvious that this is a new restaurant. Its a very incognito kind of store front. It is nice that they kept the old facade, though!
The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Well surely be back.. cant wait
The food was exceptional, it was both familiar and comforting with surprising accents on each plate that made it very memorable. The service was polished and warm. I could not recommend this restaurant enough.
A hidden gem that has been polished! Great food! Great drinks! Great atmosphere! So happy this is open and will be by with friends for snacks and beverages! Thank you!!!! Vegetarian options: OMG! That Leek dish was awesome! Dietary restrictions: Great array of alternatives Parking: Lots of street parking and after 6pm, its FREE!
Food Vibe Wine 100% will be a regular
What a delightful restaurant! The food was absolutely spectacular and the service was friendly and prompt. I thoroughly enjoyed the daikon (so creamy!) and the sauce on the sea bass was to die for. The ambiance was so cozy and inviting, its a great addition the neighbourhood. This restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I look forward to returning to The Rosebud to explore more of their menu and soak in the cozy atmosphere. Vegetarian options: So many delicious dishes!! Dietary restrictions: The chef was able to accommodate my dietary restrictions and it didnt impact the food at all. Much appreciated!
A lovely sophisticated, but charming addition to the neighbourhood. Interesting menu curated - and delicious!
We had been eagerly watching the progress of the transformation of the Kingsbrae diner into Rosebud. Very pleased to get a reservation for its opening week and it didn t disappoint! Great addition to Corktown with quality small plates and libations in a cute setting
Cozy spot with well curated menu and wine list. Will be back!
Dinner was fantastic! French food done beautifully. Great ambiance, wine list and playlist. So happy to have such a gem on the east end!
Had a delicious dinner here! Every dish we got was amazing, the tuna tartare, leeks and panisse are so good! The flavours are fresh and new. For mains we got the pork and the sea bass. Definitely recommend trying the pork, it s a good portion and it s delicious!
Cozy restaurant in Corktown. Great selection of wine, with some cocktails. The daikon panisse was my favourite dish, but all dishes were tasty and full of flavour. Can t wait to return and try the other dishes!
Beautiful place, amazing food, exceptional service. Welcome to the neighbourhood! Id suggest trying the leeks, steak and last but not least: The apple pie! You can thank me later. Well be back! Vegetarian options: Panisse and leeks were vegetarian friendly. Apple pie dessert was extraordinary!
PERFECT experience at the Rosebud! The food is to die for. French techniques infused with Asian-ish influences. We had the daikon panisse, the leeks, the duck confit and the uni tagliatelle. I recommend all of them! And then there was the dessert. A chocolate parfait done as an ode to a McCain deep and delicious cake had the perfect amount of salt and citrus to cut the luxurious chocolate cream. I am still thinking about it. Wine and cocktails were original and great. And the atmosphere was intimate, warm and homey. Love the kitschy decor which speaks to the heritage of the space. THIS IS A WIN. Parking: Lots of street parking available. Free in the evenings and on Sundays.
The food here was amazing everything was delicious. If you had to choose, definitely get the daikon, rice cakes, and don t skip dessert but you should probably just try to eat everything!
We were excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood. We were so disappointed. The two appetizers were ordered - the leeks and the panisse - were okay, but our two mains were terrible. The iberico pork was cooked perfectly and tender but tasted like fish..perhaps from being cooked on the same grill or pan as their many fish dishes. And the denver steak, which they did tell us was a tougher cut of meat, was overly fatty and indeed tough despite being medium as they recommended, and it tasted very bland as though not seasoned at all. The jus it was served with was sharp tasting but we could not identify what it was supposed to be - blueberries? raspberry? Not sure. We tried one each of the desserts on offer. The chocolate parfait was too thick and sweet..the apple tart tatin was the best dish of our meal however. It was the only dish we would call delicious. The white wine we ordered to accompany our starters was not the wine we received, even though it was very good. I asked about it when it was served, and the waiter said rather curtly take a small sip and if you dont like it Ill take it away and you can try something else. We thought the design of the space was beautiful, but were glad to leave because the open kitchen has insufficient venting and we constantly smelled fish cooking. Perhaps they were just having an off night. But we will not be back.
Such a cozy and beautiful space. Great food and service. Loved the menu, wine list and cocktails. Highly recommend.
This is a hidden gem in the city! only a month in, this restaurant is a maverick in serving a totally new gastronomical experience! We tried the lobster salad, tagliatelle, and daikan panisse. They were incredibly sophisticated in their taste profile and creative. I am leaving this review with a heavy heart, knowing this place would be hard to book as time goes by but I wish them continued success. Loved the service, food, and the people!
Incredible experience. The food was just *chefs kiss*
Well thought out intimate space. Loved the Daikon Panisse and the Sea Bass.
Amazing dining experience, every dish was made with such care and love! Cozy, well designed neighbourhood gem. Definitely making this my go to spot for celebrations and date nights Food
Its great to see the former Kingsbrae Diner on King Street East finally being revitalized after so many years sitting vacant. The Rosebud offers friendly service, great food, and a highly nostalgic atmosphere in the heart of Corktown. I especially love the Schitts Creek homage to the Rosebud Motel, after a photo of Eugene Levy dining inside the Kingsbrae was found during construction of the new restaurant. Definitely will be frequenting The Rosebud for many meals to come!
Delicious duck confit with savoury crêpes and daikon panisse. Apple tarte tatin with crème fraîche was excellent as well.
Very unique menu that excites the palette! Atmosphere was cozy and the staff were very friendly
Great former diner turned resto with cozy booths. Drinks were spot on. Loved all the seafood dishes and the pasta was a stand out. Steak with tapenade didnt taste great. Would definitely come back
Would not let us dine in with our son. Said the stroller would not fit, but did not entertain the option of folding up the stroller. the neighbouring wine bar Ladybug has always been extremely accommodating.
