Our Ukrainian dishes feature simple pastries, staple lunch options, and traditional Ukrainian recipes with a modern twist. As a blend between a Ukrainian café and restaurant, we aim to provide as many familiar and loved Ukrainian dishes as possible, including vareyky (perogies), borsch and holubtsi (cabbage rolls).
The food was okay. Wings were chewy, made me think they were stale. Chicken noodles soup was average. Service people were unhappy to serve at 5 pm.
I had the distinct pleasure of dining at UNO Bistro on September 7, 2024 with a Ukrainian friend who introduced me to it. In a word, this place is superb. The food, environment and the staff are all first rate. I cannot say enough about the sublime beet borscht with chicken and dollops of sour cream that I had there. It is without doubt the very best I have ever had – anywhere. It will leave you craving more. For my main course, I had chicken Kyiv, which was done perfectly, light golden brown breading on the outside and juicy flavourful chicken on the inside. I had, of course, a side order of scrumptious potato varenyky - with more sour cream! All of this served by our delightful and efficient server, Kate. My meal was topped off with a perfectly done cappuccino, decorated on top of the foam with the traditional Ukrainian trident symbol. The dining experience was enhanced by the wonderful energetic ambiance created by the adjacent musical chatter of local Ukrainian regulars at other tables. And I don’t even speak Ukrainian!! What a cultural treat. The manager, Mark, can be very proud if this establishment ! Finally, a word of caution; Be sure to get an extra order of the borscht and sour cream to take home. You will suffer very deep withdrawal symptoms if you don’t!! Happy dining at UNO Bistro. Andy Hoffer Toronto Note: photos are from my previous visit to UNO Bistro. They show a full platter of varenyky, not the chicken Kyiv .
Amazing place! I’ve tried almost the entire menu, and everything is incredible—especially the borscht. It’s the best spot for Ukrainian cuisine in Toronto with affordable pricing! They even surprise you with gifts sometimes, which is so heartwarming. Much love to this place! Дуже дякую! Слава Україні💛💙
Recently discovered this location with Ukrainian food. As a Ukrainian myself, let me tell you that it’s a really good spot for trying Ukrainian cuisine. I have been to a few spots that make Ukrainian food in Toronto, and this place might feel less like a restaurant but more like a homemade food (Although we all know that it’s better at home 💙💛). Overall, it’s a really nice place, with great food and service, so I would recommend you to try it out.
My very high reviews. I ordered twice. Borsh Draniki and pierogies. Last time Cabbage rolls. Got very tasty food❤️garlic bread with sour cream was added ! Thank you very much!
The best Ukrainian food in the city of Toronto. If you want to try premium Ukrainian food this is the restaurant to attend.
Today at Lunch was my first visit! It was the best Authentic Ukrainian Cuisine in the Greater Toronto Area! Well worth every penny! The best food served fresh!
Amazing and authentic Ukrainian food— the kind that satisfies your craving for perogies (varenyky), cabbage rolls (holubtsi), meat on a stick (patychky), and more. Attentive service as well.
Cozy European style cafe
My compliments to the microwave.
Left a second later when I saw a warning ukrainians should speak only ukrainian here , someone had already left this comment below, there is no place for this in Canada, the owner should think about it
Very cozy place with friendly staff, and the food is top-notch. We often spend time there with friends and highly recommend it to you as well.
Its cozy, the waiters are attentive, the home-style cuisine is delicious! I want to go back
Everything is delicious The team is great The atmosphere is quiet, cozy and romantic
UNO Bistro is a wonderful place with a pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Ukrainian dishes are especially worth noting - they are tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. I recommend it for those who value quality, hospitality and authentic Ukrainian tastes!
UNO Bistro pleasantly impressed from the first visit! The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make staying here very comfortable. The menu pleases with its variety, especially Ukrainian dishes that taste like home. The dishes are fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. An ideal place for those who want to enjoy delicious food and good service. I will definitely come back!
I recently visited this wonderful establishment of Ukrainian cuisine. I was very satisfied with the service and delicious food, the dishes are just like at my mothers!!! Thank you very much for your attitude towards customers! I will definitely visit more than once)! I recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!
Do not hesitate to eat here! I ordered from uber eats and I was beyond pleased , amazing food very comforting and very consistent. Thank you.
I m surprised so many people like this place. I found the food to be not good at all. I tried many items.
The staff always go above and beyond! The customer service is amazing and the food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!
I ordered lunch for my colleagues via uber eats and was absolutely disappointed. Packing is not suitable for food. All food stuck to the paper and it was impossible to separate. Packing should be isolated inside. I wanted to introduce Ukrainian food to my colleagues, instead I got this problem. No one wanted to eat the paper. I have a photo of pierogies but mashed potato was also mixed with paper. The goal of this review is to help good place become better. Hope that restaurant will pay attention and buy suitable packaging for future orders.
Very nice customer service. Kid-friendliness: Perfect Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect
so good, thank you so much for free cookies!! it was delicious it literally made my day honestly, all the notes on the package almost made me cry, its so cute, thank you but last time when we ordered dumplings, the middle was cherry jam, instead of the cherries themselves, because of that it didnt taste very good and besides, it stuck to the paper in the box. but this is the only minus, thank you and have a great day to all employees
I ordered food twice through Uber eats. The first time everything was wonderful and very tasty, they gave me a compliment. The second time, for some reason, meat was not added to the borscht (although I chose it with meat), so the taste of this borscht was different and I did not like it (
Nice place to hang out with friends
I was expecting real Ukrainian cuisine, but unfortunately I came across a low level of cooking, poor service...
The worst Ive ever had. Not going back. The filling was overly salty and spoiled. The potatoe pancake was nothing like a potatoe pancake. Didnt finish the meal and had to throw it away. One of the worst experiences of food.
If you looking for Ukrainian food its a good spot. I only gave it 4/5 stars because its obviously never going to be as good as Bubusias(Gran not sure of spelling) home cooking
Nice place, definitely in top 5 eastern european restaurants in Toronto.
Just ordered through the skip dishes Coleslaw Salad, Amazing love it . Ordered also borsch , well mostly liquid And Cabbage rolls with meat in tomato sauce with a side of mushroom . Well I won t be ordering again . There was no meat whatsoever but just rice , they were so tiny and there was no mushroom sauce. Also there was no drink either . So only good thing was the salad !
Impressions are rather ambiguous. We wanted to visit this place to try home-made traditional cuisine. But we faced store-bought dumplings and dumplings on our table. The service was better than the local cafes, but there is work to be done. In more detail: Food. Kiev-style cutlet, mashed potatoes and salad were tasty, but not an authentic cutlet made of minced meat, not a whole fillet. It is good that the mushroom sauce was served separately, because it was not mentioned. Derunas are delicious, with fairly fried crispy edges. But it is not clear why sour cream was served in a disposable saucer. Dumplings with cherries - purchased, inside instead of real cherries with sugar, cherry jam. They were served immediately poured with sour cream. Dumplings are also purchased, for some reason they were served without sour cream. Coffee is far from cappuccino, the bill says medium, although no one specified the size. Dessert - was ordered as a strudel with apples and ice cream, but they brought a biscuit roll. But the waiter quickly resolved this issue, for which I thank him. The ice cream was really tasty, then there was the vanilla filling. Service. We were greeted quite kindly and seated at the desired table. The waiter asked the order of taking out the dishes. Immediately brought a decanter with complementary water and immediately brought drinks, before the meal. It seemed like they were waiting for food a little too long. The atmosphere is not intrusive, the room is small, but we saw that the summer playground is being prepared for opening.
Thank you for the service. Thank you. You are the best
One of the best place with UKRAINIAN cuisine and atmosphere, highly recommend)
Had to leave after seeing that offensive and discriminatory language related sign. Absolutely disgusting.
Incredibly delicious!!! Great service!!!
i ordered the minced meat nalysnyky and the meat inside tasted extremely rotten. i spat out the food and i had to throw it out. please inspect your meat for expiry dates before serving it to your customers. a waste of my money that i can never get back. highly NOT recommended unless you dont care to waste your money
I do not recommend this establishment, the service is at a low level, the food is not tasty.
Everything is fine
Love this cozy place. Food is fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Have been there several times and recommend them to anyone looking for good Ukrainian food!
Went out to eat with girls and got the worst service in my life. The server was rude and inattentive. Maybe that s because I wasn t speaking Ukrainian but her English level wasn t too good either so I was confused why she had such an attitude. My friend asked her to bring the main course and she said they re preparing it and brought her cheesecake before the main course. On top of that she forgot to bring an appetiser and then when we followed up about it she said she can wrap it to go. I was just hoping she won t spit in my food. At the end she gave us change with 5, 10 and 25 cent coins. I was shocked.
I want to leave my review about the institution Came to have dinner with my son and were very satisfied The food is delicious, the establishment is very clean, which is rare in Canada) The staff is very polite and attentive to customers Prices are reasonable. I recommend 1000%
the food is delicious kavusia abaldenna the atmosphere is not bad (however, it is not very Ukrainian, something for that minus a star))) also mine personally: too much oil in food for me, such a joke Im happy Vegetarian options: well, dumplings with potatoes
Went in for lunch with my daughter, everything was hot and fresh. Staff - two girls, friendly. They asked, do you want dessert before or after the main course? Serve coffee before or after. Dumplings, as my grandmother used to cook, with onions and sour cream, as if immersed in the past. very good) Borscht with sour cream, bread with garlic, personally I did not have enough taste. My daughter liked it very much. The coffee is good, not that obscure coffee at Tim Hortons.... Kyiv-style cutlet, I would like it with fillet and not minced meat, but I guess Im already a gourmet :) We support Ukrainians! And I especially like that there are answers to every bad comment, that is, people are working on mistakes, and this is already a big star in the basket paid for two with my daughter $ 42 of them - 8.50 for drinks, they are always the most expensive, but it is in in all institutions yes ....
Im from alberta and was in YYZ for work. I ordered skip the dishes from this place and it was very good. The borscht was amazing. The smell of it was even better. They even put my ice cream in a separate bag so it didnt even melt when I received it. Thank you much appreciated it.
Absolutely disgusted by this restaurant. Upon being seated the waitress noticed I was speaking Russian & immediately slammed this sign on my table. I m a Russian speaking Ukrainian. How is this allowed in Toronto? I was forced to leave due to my daughter crying from the aggressive behavior by the entire staff. Vile behavior and my attorney has already been contacted.
Awful place .. lot of Russian/ Ukrainian food on the menu unfriendly staff , dirty tables and the food was mediocre at best .. give it a wide berth and if your Russian they have a note on front door banning Russian speakers !! Which surprised us as discriminatory and unpleasant
I ordered perogies for my daughter for lunch through lunchbox. They are horrible. Undercooked to say the least. My daughter refuses to eat them even though she loves when we boil them at home. Unless they improve dont think wed be ordering again
Very tasteless
Tasteless food
So after looking at the review and pictures we decided to try Uno Bistro. The staff was amazing and very helpful, unfortunately the food was served cool and I think maybe microwaved. We will not be returning for the food again. Our bill was for the food and tip for two people and a glass of wine.
Uno Bistro is the best institution of Ukrainian cuisine and culture in Toronto. The waiters are very friendly and prompt in the selection. The food is very tasty and fresh. Potato pancakes, varenyky, nalysnyky are the best for me! Borscht is like home prices are very reasonable! The inn is second to none! Lets support Ukrainian
This place doesnt deserve any stars. I have never been more disrespect in my life.. i make a plan to take my elderly father for a nice Ukrainian dinner. So i check the website, make sure its open. All good. Open til 11pm it says. So my father ( 81) gets dressed up nice, excited to try this place. We get to the restaurant and walk up to the front door. I open the door and this woman looks at us and says no and closes the door on us. Then a man comes over and locks the door.. Now i dont know if it was a private party or what but the open sign was on and people were inside. If it aas a private party it just had to be explained. We get it , no big deal.. but to just look at me, say no and push the door closed on my face.... i will never step inside your establishment, ever. And i will be sharing this encounter with all my co workers at the ttc as well. Shame on you.. shame shame... the rudeness and disrespect was at a whole new level at this place.... Please anyone reading this, dont spend your money here. They dont deserve it..
If there is a 0 rating for customer service, I would rate this place for exactly this. Friends of mine showed up for dinner tonight and were rudely told NO. No explanation, nothing! Shame on you UNO Bistro!!! As a result of your rude communication, we are a large community of patrons who will no longer support your business. It matters not that your food may be deemed good. But your actions have left a very bad taste in our palates.
My first time visiting a Ukrainian eatery. My (Ukrainian) coworker suggested this place to me (Filipino) and another coworker (Mexican) of ours to try this place out. Service is swift and we were properly attended to. If you like (or would like to try) Ukrainian cuisine, this is one of the best Ukrainian places to go to. I had their traditional varenyky and I really liked it - so much so that I ate them plain even without the provided dipping sauce. The atmosphere was another quality I liked about this place - serene and they were (still) playing chill Christmas music. If you want some quiet and cozy place to settle, give this place a shot. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and gluten-free menu options.
This is a hidden gem. Highly recommended. Very reasonable in pricing. The Borscht is topnotch!
Great cozy bistro with delicious Ukrainian and Canadian food
Great place! Spread good vibes! These Ukrainian foods like borscht and potato pancakes are delicious. I would love to visit this place again.
Friendly and cosy
Good Ukrainian food
Great place. Reasonable prices.
They make the best hot chocolates I have ever tried, and the environment is great. I go there every week.
The people working there are really nice and polite. They let me finish my drink without making me feel unwelcome. Much appreciated!
Amazing service! Thanks Alena and Tanya for the best cappuccino in the neighboorhood.
Our waitress Sasha was absolutely lovely! Such good service deserves praising!!! Food was so delicious with little wait time. Amazing spot if your looking for a cozy yet modern vibe.
First time in and had a great experience everything was delicious!!! Will be back with the family.

Beautiful place for an intimate gathering. Food is wonderful and the ambience cant be beat. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible

Best Ukrainian restaurant in Toronto. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. You feel like you are back in Lviv in your favorite cafe.
Very tasty cuisine! Everything is good!
Nice job guys , thanks
Definitely one of the best Ukrainian places in Toronto. Food is superior. Will definitely come again
I had . It was great. Purchased some food as well. Would come back. Very clean and quiet.
Love this place. The food is excellent. I have had the borstch, cutlets with buckwheat and varrenyky. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Also a great place to grab a latte in the morning and get some work done on my laptop with the big windows letting in natural light.
Great decor and atmosphere. Food was delicious.
Very tasty, I recommend it.
Tried their speciality dark beer and it was a game changer. We reached a couple minutes after the kitchen was closed however the servers were helpful to get us a bowl of snacks on the house. The service is empaccable. Definitely a must try for a evening drink and dinner or an afternoon brunch and coffee.
Great, hidden gem. I don t even want to tell you about it, because I want it to myself.
Great food and service.
We were looking for a place to eat our traditional food, and when we came to this place, my friends and I fell in love. Everything was unbelievably delicious, like I said, too delicious. Especially the borsch, it just broke our hearts. Golden hands at the chef, excellent service, nice friendly people. We were very satisfied! Thank you
I want to share my pleasant impressions about the restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine UNO Bistro. With pleasure, she tasted delicious dumplings with potatoes and cabbage, and also tried a refreshing drink with cranberries. I felt very hospitable and comfortable thanks to the friendly atmosphere and attentive service. I sincerely recommend everyone to visit this restaurant and enjoy the warmth of Ukrainian cuisine
Very friendly staff. On this visit the waiter had gotten me deep fried perogies instead of Boiled and for the mistake, he gave me the original dish complimentary!
Delightful cafe/Bistro. Very clean, nice decor. Has an outside dining area on a lawn. Staff are very friendly. Lovely selection of pastries. Coffee was great. Will come again. Parking: Users the large parking lot of the Trident Banquet Hall/Ukrainian Center.
Fabulous gem hiding in plain sight!!!
Nice Ukrainian restaurant
Great place. Great food. Great vibes. Bomb. I recommend

Good coffee and reasonable prices
Great food and great service. Will come more often. Part of large group today and attention provided was better than most place in TO.
I Love UNO Bistro! It is close, warm, inviting, comfortable, delicious, and has easy parking! Staff is great and friendly. I highly recommend UNO to anyone in the West end.
Delicious Ukrainian comfort food handmade with lots of love. Absolutely delicious pierogies, borscht and other dishes perfect for lunch, dinner or a snack. Dont forget the baked goods which were utterly surprising. They have specials like crepes, potato latkas, meat on stick and more. The borscht was top notch and cant wait to go back. The café is perfect for catching up with friends, or working.
Amazing food! Marko was a fabulous server! Will 100 percent come back !!!
Amazing food, great service!!! Marko had the best recommendations!!! Love this place:)
Great place to go and try Ukrainian food.
Was there yesterday evening. Superb food, great service, some of the very best Ukrainian food I have had outside of Ukraine! I highly recommend this bistro.
I went out with my girlfriends to check this new place out. A nicely decorated, small but cozy place. Clean and inviting layout. The big, modern windows make the space feel open and inviting. The bench pillows give out a homey vibe. The staff was amazing! Our server Helen, a friendly, patient and attentive young lady was very keen on navigating us through the Ukrainian inspired cuisine. The knowledgeable, kind, very keen and charismatic manager Daniel was outmost involved in providing us with any information along with a sense of humor and ability to indulge us with Ukrainian language. Bravo to the kitchen artists for presenting us with a neat twist of well known Ukrainian elements into one dish. Fresh and delicious meal with a nice presentation. I wish this place was better advertised as it deserves more attention and more customers. Will definitely come back again. Good luck UNO Bistro!
nice spot for ukrainian food. and the proceeds here go to the ukrainian national federation
Very tasty cuisine, service at the highest level, pleasant friendly atmosphere. It was as if I had come to visit my relatives. Good luck to you!
Here you can drink delicious cocoa for 1 euro. Cakes also deserve attention. But the tastiest is borscht. The atmosphere is friendly. I recommend
Its been my fifth time here and both the food and the service are consistently great. True, healthy home-made food, like my parents cook. BTW, we started coming here for our meetups. The space is great for team meetings and events. Thank you for creating this cozy Ukrainian nook
I took take out perogies, paid for Supreme, realized I got basic(no bacon or chives) when I got home. Was a little disappointed for my first time visit.
Cozy place with great food. Its my go-to spot in the area whether for a drink meet-up or a full meal.
Delicious varenyky, potato pancakes; cozy interior and friendly staff, highly recommend!
