Great location staff and drinks. Good was delicious as well.

Excellently decorated cocktail lounge. Staff where vary polite and honest. ( Angelica showed amazing focus on providing superior service.) Friendly staff all around on dec, 4 2024. Best part was when I got to talk to Nana, he listen very closely, even though he had other dutys to fulfill and while keeping a balanced work place in check. Overall one of the most energetic spots in T-Dot ....I will be sharing this gem with colleagues and peers. So glad to have enjoy this place. Thanks sincerely Alex. C

Usually whenever I visit Walrus the service is solid and I have a wonderful time. Today I ordered 2 pints of Guinness and I informed the bartender that I don t have a tab and want to settle for the beers, there was still 9 minutes till happy hour ended. The bartender who took my order poured the 2 beers and they sat there under the tap for 3 minutes prior to the 5pm cutoff. She waited till exactly 5pm to enter in the bill into the system and bring it over for payment along with the beers. I ordered the beer prior to cutoff and informed her that I ordered it prior to cutoff, however she said it was past 5pm now. I know the bar was busy and she had to attend to other customers as well, but I ve never been to a single bar that has waited till after happy hour ends to enter in the charges. This was extremely unprofessional of the bartender and I will no longer be entertaining guests at Walrus going forward.

I wanted to leave a review after going here for the first time on December 5th. I had made a reservation for 6:00pm. My party and I arrived for that time and it was packed, evidentially with holiday parties. They let us know it might be a couple minutes to get the table which was not a problem. In total we waited 12 extra minutes. During that time 3 different hostesses apologized and kept us up to speed with progress. Once we were seated the manager came over and offered us some appetizers on the house for the wait. Very unexpected and not needed but absolutely appreciated. Just wanted to shout-out the wonderful service which is becoming more and more rare in todays day and age.

Great space for hosting a large group - say an office party, for example. Food is good and just what youd expect with a nice variety of drinks to choose from. Food : 5/5

Food was great. Drinks are so good. Every team member looks great. However, service was okay. She didn t seem enthusiastic towards us. Maybe its coz our order wasn t as grand as the rest of the customers? Or could be a long day? I can only assume. That doesn t mean that we re not going back but if we will, we hope to get a better than Okay service.

Quiet yet fun vibes I enjoyed having the opportunity to watch the Blue Jays on tv, while also catching up with a friend

TLDR; If I was running the Walrus, Id want to know: 1) If a waiter as far out of their depth as we experienced was being given sections on a busy Saturday - sections that they were clearly unable to manage 2) Staff were clearly not communicating with each other (to cover sections and give support) and/or patrons who are owed an explanation or update (when elastic bands are found in their dishes). Floor managers should always be aware of the types of issues we were experiencing (no quality check, no table contact, elastic in food, confrontation from other patron, etc. etc.) and be ready to speak to them if one of their staff is preoccupied. 3) Patrons were being confronted and yelled at by other patrons as a result of staffs inability to manage their section and/or patron-patron interactions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Saturday night (September 21st) two of us walked in with no reservation for dinner at 6:30-7 PM, and were seated at one of the two-tops (high-tops) along the wall across from the server POSs with a view into the kitchen. During our meal, I found a dirty elastic band in the the koji caesar salad I had upgraded to as a side. I was able to flag down our waiter and point out the elastic band in my salad, and they took it wordlessly - no apology, no promise to fix it, no communication whatsoever, aside from taking the salad away. Upon taking the side salad back to the kitchen, we were able to watch one of the kitchen staff pick the band out of the salad and exclaim Holy sh*t!. We assumed this would mean an urgent replacement of the side salad or, at least, a prompt table touch to ensure that we, as diners, knew the situation was being addressed. However, we continued to finish what was left of our meals with absolutely NO contact from any other Walrus staff for the remaining duration of our meal. Finally, 45 mins. later with a table full of empty plates, empty glassware, and dirty utensils, we flagged down the nearest staff to ask for our bill as we had a show to get to and had not seen or heard from our waiter since he took the side salad away. A few minutes later, our waiter came by, quickly (and wordlessly) brought our bills to the table, and almost left before we noticed that there was no changes to our bill - we mentioned that if we were going to pay for an upgraded side salad, it would have been nice to have at least gotten to eat it (I was halfway through when I discovered the elastic band). He then mentioned that he forgot he was going to comp the meal (which we appreciated) and turned back to the POS to make this change and reprint our bill. In this time, another Walrus patron walked up to our waiter and the table we were sitting at and proceeded to attempt to usher our waiter away back to his own table because this guy [the waiter] had told them he would cash them out but kept disappearing and they had a show to get to, I mentioned that we also had a show to get to and this patron then turned to our table and berated us for not understanding his situation - all the while the waiter stood back at the POS without intervening, deescalating, communicating or saying a word. At this point, we encouraged the waiter to go back to the angry patrons table, but not before feeling like we should never have been put into a situation where a patron is arguing with us about a service issue with the restaurant.

Went here this afternoon for drinks with coworkers from out of town. Never have I experienced such rude service. I would give zero if I could.

insanely overpriced mediocre food, takes an hour for food/drinks to arrive. Would have given a better rating on food if it didnt cost 90$ with tip for a mediocre steak, terrible fries and a sip of amaretto sour.

Had an amazing time at Walrus! Tori is an incredible server - attentive, great recommendations, and so much personality! Literally made our night.

Lemon charcoaled chicken was not tasteful enough. So many staff but they don t take care of customers.

Great spot on the weekend as the typical financial district crowd isnt there - makes it a little less busy. The atmosphere and decor is great. Theres a good mix of chic design and sports pub elements. There are a lot of tvs around to watch but it doesnt feel like a sports bar. If you want to upscale your visit to Toronto for a sports event, I would recommend it here. I have been to this restaurant during the week when I worked downtown and it was still great, just so busy it was hard to get into. The menu has unique flavors and they have tasty cocktails. A gem in the financial district.

Came here in a large group, service was horrible - 20min for a beer, 1hr for food. Food subpar. Photos of downstairs ping-pong and other billards no longer exists. They blocked off entire downstairs area (at least on a Sat night) only 1 pool table available

Havent been in a few years but it was my go to stop while I waited for a train at Union. Service is excellent as always right from when you step inside. Great selection of beer, spirits and cocktails. They will make you pretty much any cocktail you desire. I had a dirty martini which was probably the best Ive had recently.

I expected this place to be a more traditional looking gastropub but its kinda swanky! Swanky-adjacent at least. A nice place for cocktails, drinks, and food. We had the katsu burgers and speziata pizza, both which were very enjoyable. We had a few cocktails and they were good but some flavours were a lot to handle, so I would suggest you be super discerning when picking a cocktail. The bathrooms weren t super clean, which was surprising as it wasnt busy that night

Our server was awesome, friendly, curious, and checked in frequently. Her food recommendations were spot on.

A lively setting with large bar counters with screens and dark tables in the room. The pizza was good with fior di latte as well as the service. It is true that seeing dead birds hanging is not pleasant. Then this RESTAURANT LACKS TRANSPARENCY REGARDING SUMMERLICIOUS PRICES, ask in advance if it is the lunch or evening menu even if you show up early in the afternoon.

The pizza is delightful!! I have to remove a star considering that the summer special wasnt available, nor fries or the pizza I wanted. Was still completely worth it. The Walrus is where my fiancé and I had our first date, so when we were deciding on where to take our engagement photos, we thought The Walrus bar would be a great place to shoot. Alexa, the GM, was so supportive and accommodating to let us and our photographer Wedding Editorials take a few photos before they opened for lunch. Their bartender Marcus even offered to make us a drink which added such a nice touch in the photos, which we are IN LOVE with!! We ve been back many times for food, drinks, and happy hours and their service never disappoints!

Good for happy hour

We got together here on Saturday evening with a group of 7 people. We had an amazing experience! We had different diets in the group - i.e. some were vegetarian and they were soo happy with the wide selection of veg items on the menu. Theyre usually limited to one or two items. The best part was the service - Anjelica was so sweet and thoughtful in accommodating everyones preferences. We felt well taken care of and were all grateful to have had her help us have an amazing evening! Vegetarian options: There were many options and they were very flavourful and delicious.

The food was good! The service was terrible. The server had too many table to serve and wasnt able to cope. We were not even able to order other drinks since it was to long.

Hosted an after work social at the Beer Hall and it was a FANTASTIC experience! Food, atmosphere, service, incredible! And the bartenders made us all special, custom drinks based on our preferences. WONDERFUL!

While this place is located in a nice place in downtown, I was disappointed with the food options especially Vegan options. While the menu has a legend for Vegan options, there were no Vegan options. I had to order my appetizer twice to substitute for the lack of main course. Also, the service was underwhelming. While the waitress was nice, she hardly showed much interest to serve us or checking on us if we wanted to order anything more. I would not return here until the menu gets upgraded with more vegan options.

We spent an hour trying to pay the bill because Diana could not spilt our bills properly. We CONTINUOUSLY told her how we want it and she kept messing it up. She tried to overcharge us $260 and charged us for things we didn t even have. It was an unbelievable experience. The service was absolutely terrible.

We have been trying to pay out bill for over an hour. Diana is incompetent. She could not split up our bill properly and overcharged me $216. I am absolutely disgusted in the service at this establishment.

Good option for late night dinner

Great location for dinner or drinks after work. Upstairs at street level is more up beat and busy while downstairs is for larger parties and quieter. We were upstairs. I found the music much too loud ...hard to carry a conversation. Food was good and presented well. Staff was attentive but a little hard to get a hold of toward the end. Would return

Went here on a weekend as a party of 6. We walked in and were seated in 10 minutes. They have ample space and the place was busy and bustling throughout our stay. We ordered a bunch of shareables and nothing really disappointed us. By mistake we mis-ordered something and the hostess was kind enough to quickly get us a replacement dish. Service was quick and friendly. Food and drinks were aptly priced.

We actually went to this place for the second time, first time was a company hosted Christmas party and today we went for just a normal luncheon. The ambience was great and not to mention Zoey was our server for the hour and she was amazing. We ordered steak and Veggie burger with rosemary fries. Dont miss the yellow dip (Curry mayo) that comes with the veggie burger makes the meal super flavorful. And hey we had to do the rock, paper, scissor for the payment part - Zoeys idea again lol. Thanks again for having us.

Burger recommendation was excellent, Gouda. Rosemary fries were excellent at that price point the food was perfectly prepared. Service was quick, beer tasted fresh. Atmosphere was busy but not too loud so we could talk without yelling.

I recently booked the Walrus Pub in Toronto for a corporate event, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I reached out to the team, I was met with exceptional service and a genuine desire to ensure our event was a success. Malyssa, the director of sales and events, was a pleasure to work with. Her quick response time and kind demeanor made the planning process seamless. The Walrus Pubs staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, making the event an stress-free experience for guests. The food at the Walrus Pub was a highlight of the event. Our guests raved about the delicious dishes and the wide variety of options available.

I wish I could recall our server s name, but she was so lovely. My husband and I sat up near the bar that s by the front door and everyone was so attentive and genuinely friendly. The cocktails were delicious. We started with the cheese board, which was perfect for the two of us. For our main meals, I had the tuna bowl and my husband had the chicken sandwich. Both were very fresh and tasty. The manager generously gave us dessert. My husband thought they were the best churros he s ever had. Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful night!

Food was decent, interesting combinations given (like fries with curry mayo) we ordered the pizza and fries and 2 drinks. Came out to a little over 100$ which was a little bit too pricey for 2 Pizzas 1 fries and 2 6$ beers. Service was okay, we had over 6 servers and we didnt know who was ours. Theres nothing to this beer hall. One pool table and they rest was closed off. We came for my boyfriends birthday and I called ahead to ask for something to be done for his birthday. Even if it was a dessert I would pay for it. I even added it to the reservation notes and they assured me they wouldnt forget. And they forgot. No dessert was given nothing. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I would not recommend this place it was a flop. Over priced and no fun downstairs like they advertise. Would not come back.

We booked a corporate event in the downstairs Beer Hall. We had an incredible experience. Malyssa T. was incredible to work with when coordinating the event. Additionally, the staff during the event was fantastic and very professional. Alexa was amazing during the night of the event. She constantly updated me throughout the night and was very intent on making sure that everything ran smoothly for us. Our event was far more successful than I anticipated. Everyone had a great time. The environment, music, bar, food, service, and atmosphere exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend this venue for any event you are planning!

Popped in after work. Passable beer menu and cocktails looked great! Food was a surprise. Had the crispy chili tofu, tuna tartar and shared a chicken sandwich with rings. Tuna was spectacular...served on a deep friend rice mound. Tofu also crispy. Rings were big and yummy. Sandwich was the low light. We will be back! Vegetarian options: Tofu. Brussel sprouts. Cheese board. Lots to choose from...and flavourful!

Went with a big group, the table given to us was a bit small and therefore felt very crowded, and I didnt enjoy having to sit on stools rather than chairs for Lunch. Great place for after work hangout, maybe not so much if youre looking for a relaxed lunch. Appetizers were good. The food was okay overall.

Disappointed and won t go back, just left there, got my beer quick, female bartender that served me had lots of time to talk to her friend at the bar but never came back to take my order after 35 minutes. Male bartender didn t ask either but walked by several times when he wasn t busy either. The fish and chips looked good on the menu but will get that somewhere else.

Thile ambience is to die for. It has such a great vibe. And with the right people this place makes a perfect night out. I went with my colleagues and we had a few drinks. The pizzas were amazing and fresh. Will go back again.

Food and drinks are fine. Nothing unique. Nothing inspired or worth going here versus anywhere else in the area. The music is just bad. Just all over the place. There was a dj, but I had no idea what he was going for. Better off with an online playlist. The service was horrible. Completely ignored by your own server and everyone else. But theres a crowd. So if nothing else matters except that theres a crowd then thats ok. Because based on location there will be a crowd. But the front of house service is really really bad. Dive bar service, at fancy restaurant pricing.

I went downtown for the zach Bryan concert last night having some drinks with friends at the walrus and the staff was unbelievable. They were so nice serving and letting us use the games that were placed throughout the pub. I was lucky enough to have a few conversations with the general manager alexa and one of the bouncers downstairs, and they gave me the time of my life. Alexa s service she was providing was top notch, and she was never giving me bad looks or anything, always a smile on her face. The bouncer downstairs looks like a scary guy, but when you get to talking with him, he s funny and a really great person. Overall my experience at the walrus was a night I ll never forget, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a drink downtown.

Came here before going to the Raptors game! Such a vibe and perfect for the late 20 early 30s crowd! Cocktails were so good and food was 10/10 (the pizza is AMAZING and the salmon bowl was so good). We had Tori as our server and she was fabulous. This is our new favourite spot in Toronto pre-games!

Happy hour specials 2pm to 5pm -$10 pizza and $12 drinks (espresso martini and margarita). Server was really nice. If you go during peak time, I wouldnt expect exceptional service as it is packed with business folk from 5 to 7pm, however if you go for happy hour, do expect great service. The basement has a pool table and an area you can rent out for events which includes shuffleboard. Overall I enjoyed our quiet table tucked away in the corner as I imagine it would have been quite loud to have a table in the center of the restaurant. There was also a dj playing the day I went in. I recommend the Soprasoto pizza and the mushroom pizza which were both stellar choices especially for the happy hour price.

Had our work party here last night. The service was impeccable! All the servers were so attentive, the food was great (fried chicken sandwiches, charcuterie board, steak) Shout-out to the server who participated in our raffle and was so excited! You really helped out with our mental health client fund!!!

Lionel L - was beyond amazing and super friendly, he was caring and genuine. We had the buttermilk chicken bites, the charred short ribs, and the prawn tacos. All super delicious. Such a great experience, will definitely visit again.

Had a good time at the place. It obviously was quite busy but the hostess took down our names and said it was a 20 min wait. She even asked us to wait outside the doors or go elsewhere if we wished to. That seemed a bit strange, why would the hostess ask the patrons to go elsewhere? But otherwise the service was great, prawn tacos and the IPAs were on point. The scan QR code for menu and bill payment does not work, so please dont use that or you might end up paying for someone elses bill.

My Old Fashioned arrived garnished with an unexpected addition a two-foot strand of the servers hair. Upon pointing it out, she said she would replac the drink, as expected. However, her subsequent behavior left me baffled; she returned moments later to question the presence of the hair, despite my having quite literally having pointed it out (nestled within my drink and sitting on the ice). She then slammed the replacement drink onto the table before departing abruptly, displaying an unprofessional demeanor reminiscent of a child. The server, a brunette with an accent, certainly left an impression, though not a favorable one. 1/10 would not recommend (would recommend a set of glasses for the server). Everyone else was pleasant aka normal.

Loved the atmosphere. The food was great and service as well!

The food was delicious and serving was mind blowing. We order roasted cumin Salmon, Ribeye, steak frites, Rosemary fries and Walrus burger and the portion quantity was impressive. Their Invisible disco drink was very tasty and it would go with any meat and keep your mouth fresh. Book your table atleast 3 days earlier if you want to have your meal on the table instead on the bar counter. The price is not bad at all, its worth every penny. Overall experience was good.

I ve walked by Walrus several times and haven t had the opportunity to give it a try. Went yesterday for dinner and drinks. The place is quite loud. They have their own DJ and it was pretty crowded at 7pm on a Wednesday night, so you have to force your voice over the music and the overlapping conversations. The space is pretty big and has a lot of different types of seating. There s a set of stairs that goes down as well that I didnt get to check out but I m assuming there s even more seating there. The decor is interesting. It has a lot of unique pieces like a sign post near the front pointing to the different sections, a lot of picture frames on the walls, neon signs, etc. One thing I found kind of funny but also a bit odd to eat beside is this big glass case with tree branches suspended inside with what looked like taxidermied birds inside. Because it s suspended on strings the branch spins slowly around. Maybe it s an interesting thing to look at from a table farther out, but eating within a few inches beside what felt like stuffed dead birds is not very appetizing to me. Our server was great, pretty attentive and felt welcoming. I asked for suggestions on their cocktails and described the kind of drinks that I like and he took that away for the bartender to make a drink for me and the cocktail tasted nice. I had the quinoa & avocado bowl which came with a grilled chicken breast. I was hoping for something light because I wasn t that hungry. When I saw the dish come, I was pretty surprised because it was like a mountain of quinoa and salad with the chicken breast and sliced half of an avocado garnished on top. The chicken breast was so dry that it was so hard to chew in your mouth and was a literal choking hazard to try to swallow. I actually had to wash it down with water each time. Otherwise, the salad was quite bland and the avocado was just sliced. I didn t really get much seasoning. I barely touched it, and when our server came around he asked about it. He did take it off my bill which was great of him. I asked for a flat white as well, and this also fell flat for me. The drink was flat from a texture standpoint instead of the added volume and silkiness you d expect the steamed milk to add to good espresso. Overall, I think it s a good spot to meet someone for drinks and chat. I am not so sure that I d return for their food.

Friends and I went here for a few beers and some food. Pizza was delicious, beer selection was decent. Some good local beers on tap. A couple more would be nice, but thats a want more than a need. Service was excellent. Marlene was charming, funny, and attentive and certainly added to the experience which was refreshing considering our previous bar had the opposite experience. Would definitely return.

For the majority of 2023 I was living in Burlington at my Dad s house. As his youngest child at the age of 27, my Dad has been waiting for me to get my life together. I moved to Queen West in November of 2023, and since then my Dad has continued to ask me the same questions most parents do: When are you going to get a better job, when are you going to get a better place to live, why don t you have a girlfriend. Being the youngest of 4, with 3 highly successful siblings, in long term relationships (2 siblings married and 1 siblings engaged), it has been hard for me to meet my dad s expectations. Today, he was coming to the city for a reception at the Royal York Hotel, and he had a couple of hours to meet before. I knew I needed to pick the perfect place. We met at the Walrus at 6 PM, where we were seated in a quaint, well lit 2 seat table by the bar. Our server made his expert recommendation to my Dad when he teetered between the dumplings and the tacos. This recommendation would prove to be life changing for me. Shortly after ordering our appetizers were delivered. As a vegan I was pleased to enjoy the brussel sprouts and shoestring fries with slight adjustments. My Dad was delighted with the dumplings, each bite discovering more and more flavour. As he was halfway through his dish, he looked at me and he said to me for the first time, Noah, I am proud of you. Thank you for bringing me here. After eating these dumplings, you are now my favourite child . Now we are with his lawyer and my Dad is writing my brothers and my sister out of the will. THE DUMPLINGS WERE THAT GOOD. Vegetarian options: As a vegan I was able to get the Brussel sprouts(no chili grano padano emulsion), avocado tofu bowl(no dressing), and shoestring fries(cheese on the side)

Great place to visit after work in the financial district. That being said, Im a carpenter and felt its really a great place for the white collar workers to meet and talk after work. Guys from my line of work probably wouldnt enjoy it as much. The food was great, and my wife (who works in finance) and I were able to squeak in for happy hour. Great service. Did not disappoint.

It became our place in Toronto. The environment and ambience is very nice. The employees are very polite and caring. I would also like to thank Ryan, who took special care of our table the last time we went, for him kindness and strong communication. I definitely recommend it for an evening hangout in Toronto.

Had a great time! Service was friendly, and the Chicken Sandwich was really tasty. Fries were good too. Prices were fair for the portions. Cool vibe inside, upbeat and lively. Overall, a solid spot and I recommend stopping by!

Love the atmosphere at Walrus - always a good time to visit after work, although it can get quite busy from 4-7PM. Other than drinks, their salmon bowl is a great option.
