50 Brant St, Toronto, ON M5V 3G9, Canada
In a soaring heritage building in King West, one of Toronto’s most exciting urban neighbourhoods, Waterworks Food Hall is a culinary destination featuring 20 food artisans, 3 bars, 2 patios and 12,000 sf of beautiful event space.
It's not bad, I think just expectation/reality balance is off. Because it might seem like a very good place to go hangout with friends, since there are different cuisines. But in fact, the area is small, there's only about 10 places and you don't really have a lot of choice. Restaurants presented there are not unique, and you can just go in Downton in that specific restaurant. A bit overpriced for the quality of food you are getting. Same with cocktails in the bar on top. Infused jelly was fun, but I will not be coming there only because of it. Summary: - Not a lot of restaurants, you will have 1 per popular cuisine and only 2 bars, however the one on the first floor doesn't even have cocktails with egg white in their menu. - Place itself is not big - Overpriced - Not really built for live music, but they have it there - Quality of food could be better - Atmosphere is fine - Location is fine
Love this food hall culture that Toronto is fostering. I went here on a Sunday afternoon, and it had the perfect amount of people traffic. My favourite spot here was Aburi Sushi. I'm already excited to go back, 10/10 experience and food. Went to Civil Works for a drink and loved the fun cocktails they offered. As a fan of Civil Liberties, I was really excited to check this spot out. Although cute and fun, full transparency, the drinks were really expensive.
Loved the atmosphere of this place! A great place to grab some good food with your friends, with a lot of seating options. They have a lot of places to sit inside, as well as an outdoor/indoor courtyard to sit and enjoy the food. The ambiance is great, the music isn’t too loud, and they have alot of food options to choose from! There were also a lot of different halal options which was great! Loved how there was a variety of different cuisines from around the world.
Great spot to grab a bite downtown Toronto. Waterworks is a high end food court. You have a good number of options and they all look great. We had the pizza and the burger followed by some ice cream. Another thing I really like about Waterworks is that you can have a beer or cocktail with your food. Great new concept hope hope to see more of these in the city.
Great ambiance. Only tried a couple places so far; mid level overpriced food, but I enjoy walking through here so I’ll try different places each time I visit. Wide selection of restaurants. I like the crowd here, young and lively. The workers from all the restaurants came off as very cheerful and pleasant. There’s a decent park outside as well, and it’s a close walk to Queen St W, graffiti alley.
So happy that this Food Hall was put up and created a great place for all of us to try different restaurants or food eateries without having to travel far. It is a food hall that is clean, beautiful and modern. It is spacious with enough seating. The variety of eateries is good - a little of everything. There are vacant stations for future rotating Chefs and I think this is an excellent idea, both to give starting chefs a hand in getting their name out and for the public to try different chef’s dishes without having to commit to going to a restaurant and eating a full course. This food hall for me is better than the one at Assembly Hall (in previous years) which I thought was tight and a little messy. It also looks more upscale, not as chaotic as The Well’s market (food hall) although The Well has more vendors. The staff who clean and go around also act as drinks servers as you can order drinks from them and they would bring it to you. So far, all 4 of them have been kind, friendly and not obstructive. Perfect team!
We’ve been eagerly waiting for the Waterworks Food Hall to open, and it did not disappoint! We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 6 PM, and it was bustling with people eager to check it out. The vibe was fantastic—young, hip, and lively. The variety of food stalls is impressive, offering Thai, Italian, oysters, Aburi Sushi, Indian food, and a bar. We loved the decor and the use of materials throughout the space. There’s plenty of seating inside the food hall and in the surrounding areas outside, making it a great place to hang out. We were able to sample some of the foods and had a wonderful time. There’s also event space upstairs for parties, and convenient parking downstairs. One area for improvement is the washrooms, which are located downstairs and are communal. The dark color scheme makes them look dirty, especially with visible watermarks and stains on the black toilets. Despite this, the Waterworks Food Hall is a fantastic spot for a casual hangout or a date. I highly recommend everyone in the area come check it out.
A wonderful space in a historic building that is next to a park with lots of tables and benches if you wish to eat outside. Inside there is casual seating for one (if you want to work) as well as tables for larger groups. A wide selection of vendors to cover off everyone’s cravings. Place an order and pay, and you will get a text when your order is ready. I was there opening day, so I understand the delays in getting food, or why my taco was cold (rushed and not heated thoroughly?) It is the first official opening (at lunch), and they were slammed as people started flowing in. Hopefully, wait times will get better. Yes, prices are a little bit steeper, but I think that’s the norm everywhere. The space is lovely to stroll through, a perfect place to meet up with friends to grab a snack or drink. Sadly, the frozen margaritas at Taco Lupia were not available for another two weeks, my main reason for lining up. Next time, it will be Harry’s charbroiled for me!
Great spot
A great place to stroll around and get some food and drinks. Its got lots of natural light and is dog-friendly, too! Service at Grape Witches was fantastic, highly recommend!
A bit cold but otherwise very nice. Wish there was more seating space
Based on the Waterworks, customer service replies, I would not waste my time or money here. Care more, and do better!
Quaint, Cozy, Industrial, Romantic, Convenient, a perfect spot which introduces you to different niche cusines from all over the world. My top favs at this joint: SCOOPED KARAK TACO LUPITA HARRYS Across the oldest park in the city, a cozy spot for a date, or a lonewolf wanderer... Must check-in spot!
The food hall has a very industrial and cool ambiance to it. Wide variety of food offered. Went to Karak, the butter chicken naan pictured was so yummy. Also great to share with 2 people
Location: Great spot. Beautifully done. Photo friendly and lots of space. Vendors: There are a variety of good food options here. Take your pick! Prices: The prices seemed on the high side. I payed $28 for a bowl of ramen and while it was delicious, it was still much more than what it would cost just outside on Queen St. Service: The staff at the outlets werent openly saying hello and inviting. They will engage when you engage with them but are friendly enough when you engage. The cleaning staff are friendly and said hello.
Good but could be better. Food is great but missing life, we should be seeing live music something to give this place energy little sleepy on a weekday. Drinks are overpriced as normal.
It is very clean! The restroom is beautiful! You can find a good mix of the variety that is representative of Toronto s food scene at the waterworks. The Reuben sandwich from Dave s original was fantastic!
Awesome new food hall, just wish I lived closer!
Sushi spot was dope
Cool spot worth checking out. The arepas were dope.
6 tacos, nachos and 2 beverages for $60
This is my favourite food hall in Toronto. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. Very clean and the atmosphere is lively. I suggest you give a few of the local favourites a try, you won t regret it.
Its a collection of stalls, not a singular restaurant. Very popular place to bring a laptop and work during the day.
Love the Waterworks Food Hall! The space is beautiful!... Love grabbing a coffee from Boxcar Social in the morning and then trying out a different food spot for lunch every week. Everything has been delicious so far!... Also looking forward to trying out the cocktail bar upstairs!
Such a shame that a location as beautiful as this falls short on delivering a great food experience. The biggest disappointment is the lack of variety in cuisines especially surprising in one of the world s most diverse cities! While the atmosphere and space are enjoyable, don t come here expecting exceptional food.
We love this new option to dine. Spacious, but a tad gloomy inside. Well reminded us of the ol European vibe Food
Over-priced. Rude. Go to The Well instead. UPDATE: re the response below. I had already emailed and got a response. And after that response I wrote this review since all you did was double down. Honestly guys, go to one of the many other options in Toronto, most are better located. Eaton Centre is getting Eataly soon. Give Waterworks overdone experience a miss, its not worth it.
Expensive compared with other food court , but worth the visit
This food Hall is a great addition to the area. There are no major chains. The food seems pretty good. A little pricey but definitely worth it for the quality we will return
Visited for first time love the architecture of the building. The food that we sampled was good if not a bit on the pricey side but I guess that s eating out in Toronto now. Unfortunately I m not sure how that will sustain into the future as you ll be more dependent on tourists as opposed to finicky locals for repeat business. Friends have said they enjoyed the Well food hall more but I liked the offerings here better at least from what I tried. Curious as to the layout of food stalls along the middle of the building which creates a bit of a disjointed feel and separation. Part of the charm of a food hall is the creation of a lively congregated space like El Nacional in Barcelona or even the Mercato in Florence as I understand the developers were studying European locations. There was a live entertainer setting up along the south side but only a fraction of the ppl would be able to see him. I guess they didn t want to block out the windows on the south side with stalls but the net effect is more like a food market than a food hall.
Really cool food hall. Different varieties of food. The Arepa republic is where I ate, had the Pabellón arepa, yuca frita , empanadas, and Rumbera. All were good and tasty. Being downtown it s a bit expensive but it s expected.
The atmosphere is good. There is nice outside area to sit, dine. The benches are huge. The food is unfortunately very disappointing. From coffee, croissants to pizza slices and tacos. Everything we tried (and mind you pay a hefty price for) was bad. I throw my croissants in the bin after one bite. Do not recommend at all. Almost all vendors are bad.
Very cool place for lunch, it s more upscale than traditional fast food. They have a variety of choices from empanadas, tacos, sushi, burgers, shawarma, pizza, ice cream and more! People ordered Pad Tai, burgers, empanadas, tacos and other items. I had the shrimp burrito and it was amazing! The price was about $23 with tax and tip, the burrito was large and very tasty. They have a few nice ladies who clean your table for you and Toyo can also order from the table if you prefer.
Absolutely delicious
I tried this new place for the first time a few days ago. The coffee was watered down and pricy. SO PRETENTIOUS. The food is overpriced for what it is. What is wrong with this city?! There are ugly cheap looking painted spears hanging from the ceiling for some reason. The quality of this city is going in a downward spiral. I miss the old Toronto.
Great energy and diversity of types of food.
Although limited options-wise, the food hall was very cool and we received excellent service.
Great vibe but okay food. I feel the price is not as cheap as other food courts. Personally I prefer spending the same money in an equivalent restaurant
This was my first time visiting Waterworks Food Hall and I was craving a smoked beef sandwich. I did a couple loops before deciding to order from Daves. Honestly I hadnt looked at the prices, but was shocked to find out the cheapest sandwich was $13 and the others were over $20. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich and a diet coke and it was $18. I know things are more expensive downtown, but this feels like a robbery for what I got. The sandwich was so small!! Not even toasted. The meat in question was mostly good, however about 30% of it was fat. Honestly so disappointed and will not be returning. Toronto has so many wonderful options for lunch, this was a huge miss.
Nice ambient and good food/drink options. A bit pricy side but you pay for the atmosphere and vibe.
Awesome new food hall with lots of choices from independent and small businesses known elsewhere in Toronto! Clean and gorgeous atmosphere. Plenty of comfortable seating.
Awesome place, with locals vibe, lots of restaurants, a few bars and a hotel attached. Marvelous! Parking: 1 Kid-friendliness: Kids accepted around the area
Favourite spot in the city ! Also open till late
I was underwhelmed upon first visiting here. I was influenced to visit here from social media and they made it seem so fun. There wasn t much variety of food places for people to try. I feel it lacked diversity of food and had very selective food options. We tried Pizzeria Popolo and scooper by Demetres. The pizza was underwhelming and the ice cream was not the greatest. The food hall smelt like a bathroom and didn t make me want to stay in there very long.
This food Hall is located adjacent to the St. Andrew s Playground Park where we found some easy relaxation after a day of strolling the general area..upon entering this very inviting food hall atmosphere, it was very easy to decide on an adventure in quality tasty foods..both of the food court businesses provided very high quality cuisine highly recommended for dining in with comfortable seating..
Lots of good spots here. Expect to pay restaurant prices but youll get restaurant-quality food, only faster!
Great place to hang out after work, especially have a drink on second floor Civil Works
Can I said that I really hope this place stay open for many years. The concept its amazing . Everything is so modern, but in a old retro building. As soon you step in, the decoration invite you to enter, the warm lights make it so appealing. Always happens that when you come with friends someone likes one kind of food, and the other one wants a different style. Well guess what here you have the option like a food court, but in a fancy way. This place has also areas where you can take your food and enjoy in a patio or a sophisticated lounge. From Mexican food , Japanese, ramen, pizza, Arepas, coffee, ice cream and cocktail you cant miss. Here is great option for a friends reunion, after works hours or your lunch time if you are in the area. Hope to see more vendors soon. Update: I return back and have some friends coming by, we were lucky because was even live music . I have Arepas , sushie and something Vietnamese. My favorite was the petacones at the arepa place. Good flavors. The other food was ok, not bad.
A great place for an outing. Definitely not a budget dining experience for a mall style food court.
We went there on a Wednesday for lunch. It was easy to find a table. The food was excellent. We ordered an arepa, a slice of pizza, a poke bowl and a Vietnamese crepe. Everything was good and the service was quick. The atmosphere was relaxed and chill. We very much enjoyed our experience.
The ramen is really bad. Cost like 25 bucks and had 3 tiny pieces of meat. The ramen was very overcooked. The staff seems lost.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Waterworks, Toronto. I tried the Pad Kra Pao from Soi Thai and fungi pizza from Pizzeria Popolo, and both meals fell far short of expectations in terms of quality and taste. To make matters worse, I ended up with food poisoning from both restaurants, which was not only incredibly unpleasant but also required medical attention. This unfortunate experience has left me questioning the standards of both establishments. I won t be returning and hope they improve their food safety and quality to prevent others from facing similar issues.
Went for the first time on a Thursday after work. It was great. Big variety of restaurants. It wasn t busy, so everything was pretty quick. I tried an arepa from Arepas Republic ($19, very filling), my friend got ice cream from scooped. Both were delicious. We brought our food/ drinks outside and realized that you could order drinks and have table service on the patio. Overall, seems like a great addition to the neighbourhood.
Overpriced for normal non descript food items.
The interior is ok but food is subpar, just like most restaurants in toronto. Overpriced and not worth coming here.
just visiting ,nice place
We just stopped by the Waterworks Food Hall to grab some ice cream at Scooped but left highly impressed by the array of food options and the design of the hall itself. Its a nice mix of the original architecture of the Waterworks, especially the glass-paned roof, and modern food stalls. Well certainly be back!
Nice food court. Seating is plentiful. Seating in one area is very cozy. Selection of food is good. It has all types of food from thai, ramen sushi and regular burgers.. I had a unique bahn mi and bbq pork burger.
Great food hall, good vibes with lots of seatings. Foods are very overpriced. Most dishes, even small sandwiches start at $18+ before tax
Good experience.
Very clean, lots of seatings indoors and outdoors and LOVE the fact that it s dog friendly inside and outside! Lots of food choices and the place to go if you re in Toronto and looking for a good meal!
A beautifully renovated space with a good variety of vendors. I love the way the park to the south is getting great use as well, and the two spaces flow together pretty well to create something of a neighbourhood hub. All the food looked pretty good, I went for the naan wraps and they were unique and very tasty. The house helles lager at the bar was great and $9 was a reasonable price for Toronto in 2024. Boxcar Social was a good way to wrap up lunch. We will happily return when in the area to try some more of the food options.
Had a couple of Janes(burgers), very greasy tasting, fries were meh, at best. Wouldnt recommend. Servers were very nice though. Food
It was not that delicious. Atmosphere wasnt also that good. I like the washroom by the way. It was little bit expensive.
Honestly it s a pricey food court. There were problems with the ordering where I didn t know when my food was done. The ordering of the food is involved and spending $30 plus tip (for food I have to get up and get myself) for a Rueben with cold fries is excessive. The wait staff for bringing drinks are nice and helpful. The atmosphere is ok but very poorly laid out. The toilets are a design nightmare. Black toilets? Weird faucets? Which spout is for the soap? Fine if you need fast food and want something more upscale then A&W but a destination? No.
Great food hall. Will definitely return.
Overpriced
Food options are well done. We had tacos, from Taco Lupito chicken satay skewers from Vit Beo and spicy salmon aburi from Aburi Sushi. Many espresso martinis and glasses of wine at the Waterworks bar!! Happy hour from 3 to 6pm!! Wasnt too busy at noon, much busier at happy hour.
On our second night in Toronto, we decided to explore a newly opened spot we d come across during our research. The excitement was palpable as we walked in, knowing it was still in its early stages. The space itself was buzzing with energy and offered a diverse array of food options. We could see that it had great potential and would only improve as more vendors set up shop. Among the vendors that left a lasting impression were Taco Lupita,Aburi Sushi, Dave s Genuine Del and Soi, offering an innovative twist on traditional dishes. Each vendor brought something unique to the table, making the visit a truly memorable one. The experience was a wonderful showcase of Torontos rich culinary diversity.
We went to Karak and it was damn delicious. We had Fusion Naans Texas Smoked Brisket and would recommend it to everyone. Service and location are very good and everything is clean.
Fantastic building with interesting history as factory that built Torontos water pipes. Its been beautifully reimagined as a fancy food court (they call it food hall if you cant already tell the level of fancy theyre aiming for). Lots of choices for food that reflect some of the diversity of Toronto itself, ranging from sushi to tacos to donors and more. Decent food court pricing. There was live musical entertainment the evening that we were there. Second level has a pretty bar Civil Works of Civil Liberties fame with a lovely view of the food hall below. Lots of seating inside and out of the hall - did not feel crowded on a Friday night. Seating open late so saw couples canoodling in the dim lighting after dinner. Paid underground parking available. Watch out for the mosquitoes on the patio at dusk, theyre vicious. Kid-friendliness: Wide halls for strollers and plenty of seating.
Food was mediocre and overpriced. There are some nice outdoor spaces to sit but it s nothing more than your typical food court. Don t waste your time.
Very cool place. Lots of good restaurants and seating. Will definitely be going back soon.
New in Toronto. Its recommended at least once.
great place to chill and hang out with friends, love the atmosphere
Absolutely disappointed. Social Media influencers rave about this destination... Its not worth the hype. Overpriced food thats been sitting on the display for hours and when you ask them to warm it up, its like you are asking the world from them. From $9 a pizza square that looks appealing, but its only looks. Hahaha youre better off going somewhere that is busy. I went on a Monday afternoon and the place wasnt busy at all. People arent anxious to serve you. They are busy talking to their coworkers, or on the customer seating area talking to one another. The building is nice, inside and out. I dont see most of these vendors lasting more than a year, if that. Its more of a tourist trap. Outside is great too. The park, dog park, grass area and outdoor seating and ambiance creates a wonderful surrounding of what could be a great addition to the community. The vendors are mainly small business owners which is fantastic. Perhaps having food made to order instead of premade would be better and bigger portions. Its great theres a bar inside too. Prices are reasonable compared to some bars and restaurants in the area. The concept is great. Tweaks are definitely needed in order to be successful Last... Wheres all the seats and tables. Are people expected to eat standing up after paying premium prices for Food Court type of service? I know theres plenty of seating available outside. Wont be useful on cold winter months.
Pizzeria Popolo has just opened its doors on King West, and it is a must-try for all pizza enthusiasts. The pizza here is incredibly fresh, with a wide variety of options to choose from, ensuring theres something for everyone. The service is top-notch, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I tried both, The Goat and Miele Piccante - both were amazing but if you are looking for sweet spicy, Miele Piccante is where its at! While the pizzas are the star of the show, don t miss out on their hidden secret: the Panuozzo sandwiches. The Mortadella Panuozzo, in particular, is perfect in a bun and a delightful treat thats well worth trying. If youre in the area or looking for a new favorite pizza spot, Pizzeria Popolo is the place to be.
The bar staff were excellent and interesting drink options. We ate at the Ramen station. Rich broth and noodles good but underwhelming volume and quantity of other items in the soup.
It was fun to hop among the vendors to find tasty foods - the food quality was great but a bit pricy. I d love to visit again.
Been to the Well and to the Waterworks both a month apart. Both has their own pluses and minuses. It depends on what kind of vibe u are looking for. The Well is all amped up and the Waterworks is more chill n laid back, its good that both of these venues exist n depending on what u are feeling u can go to either one. The pizza from Popolo was lit, will go back for more. The tacos from the taco place was terrible. Two little tiny things w one pop was 20 bucks, not worth it. The best of all was the Icecream from Scooped, dang it, it was so so damn good. I got the white chocolate², it was double the chocolate, all white, so rich and bold. And the other one we got was Lemon Curd Blueberry, this too was so good.
Lovely food hall in the city. Enjoyed Harrys burger. The pizza place wasn t too good.
Food hall like this makes me proud. This show case the good taste and good life of Torontonians.
The Waterworks Food Hall falls short of expectations, largely due to its disorganized layout and ongoing construction. The second level remains unfinished, and the main level walkway is cramped, making navigation difficult. The area feels chaotic, with customers often blocking paths while ordering or browsing vendor options. Many vendor stations appear understaffed and poorly organized, which further detracts from the experience. For a more enjoyable visit, I would recommend the Well Food Court, which offers a superior atmosphere and customer experience. The Waterworks Food Hall has potential, but significant improvements are needed to enhance its appeal.
Toronto has exactly the place it needs. Definitely 5*. There are very special tastes. A very well thought out place to spend a few hours, have a snack and a few drinks. Construction was still continuing on the upper floor. I guess organization etc. It will be used for larger activities such as I definitely recommend it. I will go whenever I get the chance.
Refreshing experience for lunch. Neat that you can order from tables and that theres water available at almost every shop. Lineups werent too shabby compared to the well. Love the selection. I have high hopes for this place
Trash place with very small vendors..raised the prices for simple food. Taste is okay. Place is woke.. They dont have a male and female bathroom, its one shared bathroom.. Disgusting. I will never let my little niece go to This place, or use their facilities. Boycott this place
BOXCAR Social in the food hall is not it. Have ordered coffee twice, and both times it was lukewarm (at best) and weak. Not sure how you mess this up but there are better options in the area.
Aesthetically pleasing, with warehouse brickwork facades, and plenty of outdoor patio areas. Happy hour drinks were good and cheap. Tacos were okay. However, not sure if its because its so newly opened, but it feels kind of sterile. Needs more character and grime.
Great options for food, very chill place. Highly recommend
Worth the visit .... contemporary style renovation .... variety of food options (halal items available at select stalls) .... ample space to sit inside and spots outside as well to enjoy the re-imagined public space .... kids park is amazing, allowing children to enjoy the outdoor setting .... underground parking also available at decent rates
Loved this place as it s super bright with natural light coming through those huge glass windows. It s dog friendly and even has a dog park on the outside.
A tourist place!!
Great place to go to try all kinds of food in a nice and new establishment. It s a great new place to go with friends and share all kinds of dishes at a better price than a sit down restaurant. I loved it! Check it out if you are in downtown Toronto.
Nice atmosphere, worth a visit. overpriced Food
Love the European vibes! Amazing food! The tacos are great! Pad Thai at Soi Thaifooon in so good! Great selection of drinks!
Waterworks Food Hall is a fantastic spot in the King West area, perfect for grabbing food or a drink. With incredible food stalls, plenty of seating, and a clean, well-designed space, it s a must-visit whether youre in Toronto or just looking for a great place for lunch or dinner in the area. Highly recommended! Dietary restrictions: There are food stalls that can accommodate almost all food allergies. Wheelchair accessibility: They have automatic doors and ramps on both ends of the building.
High priced ordinary food in a funky food court, that s what you get in the Waterworks Hall. Nothing special!! Go on foot otherwise you ll get ripped with parking charges
Great place - not everything is opened but very promising!
If you live nearby, I would love to visit for some fun. If not, please dont bother as it wouldnt be worth it. Firstly, the special ramen from Musoshin was disappointing. The chashu was too dry and tough to bite, and the quality of the beef slices was not good. Also, the karaage is a bit oily but tender. Spending $31.60 just to try it in a food hall wasnt worth it. Additionally, Aburi Sushi was also a letdown. The quality was worse than All-You-Can-Eat sushi, but the price was over $30. The chicken skewers at Vit Beo were small and tasted average at best. The burger from Harry s was too plain. The beef patty had crispy edges but was not juicy. The only place I found to be satisfactory overall was Scooped. The taste was alright and the value was worth the price.
Nothing too special. Good place to grab something quick
We recently had lunch from the Venezuelan counter and from the stuffed naan bread counter. The arepa was good but a bit messy to eat and the meat was a bit hard, while the stuffed naan bread was ok but lacking in flavours. Beautiful venue and fun atmosphere. I do not recommend ordering your food using the QR code on the tables because both counters we ordered from thought this was for take out, and packaged our food for take out, and not in trays. I would order directly at the counters. We also could not find any water fountains on site to fill up bottles. We will not return.
Its still a bit under construction
Love this new food hall! They have a lot of variety and I thought the food was really good. We tried the arepas from Arepa Republic as well as a poke bowl for Aburi Sushi.
Loved it. Best food hall in the city
very expensive not very worth it
Absolutely love the selection at this food hall! So many great spots such as Musoshin Ramen, Karak, Harry s Charbroiled, etc, are hard to get to if you live downtown - and now you can taste them all in one place! The vibe here is great too with plenty of tables and seats to use to enjoy your food Some of my favs here: Miku, Island Oysters, Musoshin and Karak
Amazing space. Amazing food. Can t wait to make it a regular spot!
Unique location with an abundance of great food and drink options!
I recently had a fantastic meal at this Food Hall the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent and the ambiance was super-friendly and inviting. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience. This place is simply amazing. One of the best in Toronto!
Pizza fanatic here. I was lucky enough to try Pizzeria Popolo as a part of their opening at the Waterworks Food Hall. The Roman style pizza squares were quick and easy for them to heat up and deliver, and super delicious. I tried the mushroom and gorgonzola and was very impressed as a veggie. Their side salads are big enough for a meal on its own, or if you want to do a pizza and salad, you can bring a little home for a snack. I work in the area and was treating myself to Prince Street down at The Well once a week, but, this was a nice change. Seemed like a better selection of toppings and fresher. Just my opinion. Vegetarian options: They have several veggie options, and all their salads are veggie friendly. Dietary restrictions: Their salads can be made gluten free.
Great atmosphere and cuisine!
Much needed food hall in Torontos west end. There are tons of spots to try! We had the Tacos at Taco lupita. Great Tacos
Beautiful food hall with top notch restaurants right beside a great park and minutes walk to The Well. Similar to the Time Out market in Lisbon !
Now that the paid influencers are done talking about how amazing this spot is here s a real review. We tried the smoked meat sandwich and it s definitely THE BEST we ve had. Would definitely be coming back for this. They were operating promptly and didn t have to wait too long. We tried Otto s doner too but just placing the order took a bit of back and forth as the cashier interrupted me mid sentence thrice to pass orders (my girl FOCUS). They were a little all over the place. Otherwise went on a weeknight so it was quieter and it s cute. Will be coming back (most probably)!
Cool good vibes
Tried Aburi - tell me why an $8 handroll had hard to chew seaweed lol was expecting crisp seaweed from this restaurant but had to physically use my teeth to rip the seaweed in order to eat my rolls. Fish was fresh but not worth the price. Tried the Ramen place as well and had the chashu don - good flavour but not something i would go out of my way for to get. Was expecting the same chashu in the ramen bowls but it was chopped into little pieces. Enjoyed it but also was expecting something different. Need to try the other restaurants but based on the experience everything feels lacklustre and pricey. Dietary restrictions: Ramen restaurant had substitute for GF noodles and Vegan options
delayed like 4 years just to have the same issues as every other food hall in the city. Overpriced, small portions, and mediocre ambiance, only redeeming factor is at least the food does taste good
It s early days (first weekend) so we ll need to see how this develops but this has some great potential. Being a food hall off strip and neighbours with public space, creates a very different offering atmosphere wise. Late hours Thursday to Saturday may work to its advantage for those looking to make it an early night or for the revellers to jump off to their King or Queen St parties.
This spot is amazing on all fronts. It feels like a slice of Europe in the middle of downtown. Elegant, fun, sooo many options of great food and drinks, architecture and atmosphere is stunning. 10/10
This new spacious food hall is located right behind Lee restaurant, with outdoor seating and spacious indoor seating. All the restaurants seem to be higher end and quality. The variety is pretty good, from sushi to tacos, you can find it here. The building itself is historical with high ceilings. There are washrooms on the lower floor.
Very nice new food court, prices are overpriced as well. - VIP Style seating - Gender Neutral washrooms only - Washroom is very dark - Sofa style seating available - Super good service
Great new space with a good amount of options. This place can only get better as they fill more of the open stalls. We got a few bites at a few places and loved everything we tried. Stuffed naan with butter chicken from Karak, the wild shrimp taco from Taco Lupita, Salmon Oshi from Aburi Sushi and the banana rice pudding from Dave s Genuine Deli
Very cramped inside yo walk around, hard to see all the places, nothing super interesting Dont come from further than spadina or ossington .... u will be disappointed
A trendy food court close to Toronto s downtown core. Lots of options to choose from, though not many menu boards on clear display. Many places will have a small printout by the cash with their menus. Variety of options include Asian fusion, burgers, desserts, delis, bar food and drinks, plus many many more! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Be prepared to spend around $25/person when coming here.
Absolutely love it. Great variety. All the food stalls were amazing. A little Pricier but reasonable for the area and convenience. You re not paying delivery fees and they provide a great ambiance. Jealous of those living here! Parking: Several lot options in the area and also street parking on Adelaide.
Good selection of vendors
Waterworks has the feel of some of the food halls we have visited in Europe. It s definitely a different and welcome addition to the Toronto food scene. There are about fifteen or so different vendors that range from sushi to tacos to donor. There are tables scattered throughout, but when this place gets busy it could be difficult to find a place to sit. That said, the people who created this place did their homework to make it feel inviting with glass ceilings that let in natural light as well as colorful spheres to add color to the place. This place has a lot of potential and I can t wait to see what other vendors end up setting up shop here!
While its still new, I think theres a lot to work out. Vendors are trying their best to accommodate, I think theres a lack of management to the entire food hall. Is there supposed to be service? Runners are running drinks but theres no instructions - do we just ask one of them thats standing around doing nothing? Can we have drinks with sushi? No one seems to know... Is there even a water station to fill my water bottle? Do establishments offer water...? Theres a lot of people walking around wondering how things work and it adds to a lot of confusion and traffic jams. Hopefully over the next few weeks things will smooth out. Taco place is wildly popular!
I ordered food at Dave s barbecue, after about twenty minutes of waiting, I was starting to get a bit annoyed, when I noticed that a group of women who had ordered quite a while after me had gotten their food very quickly. After a few more moments of observing I noticed the trend continued quite blatantly. It took me going up to Dave(who I assumed owned the place) and complaining for my order to begin being made. After I did this, an older man did the same, and while fraternizing with others who were eating there, I got the same story. TLDR: Good food, the owner just seems quite biased
Nice place. Slightly smaller than I expected. Checked out all the food vendors and made my choice. The sushi I chose was custom made for me. It was tasty and fresh. A bit expensive but enjoyed my visit. I rode my bike there from uptown. Easy to lock up my bike. Will come back and try something else next time.
Nice vibe. Different and good food. Everyone is friendly. A water station would be a nice addition
Nice food hall. Lots of pricey more premium options but a good mix none the less.
Had a fantastic lunch at Dave s Genuine Deli & BBQ today!
First time checking out the latest new food hall to the city. The location and design of the space are on brand. Very modern industrial design. Enjoy the open and closed concept of the building. Its currently two stories but the upper level is closed. Lower level is sectioned into various food stalls. There is a full bar on site and alot of outdoor space to enjoy your treat or beverage of choice. Bathrooms are on site and are unisex. Because it is so new some of the stalls are empty or have coming soon signs in place so food options at the moment are limited but there is still something to choose from such as burgers tacos ramen italian doner etc. Fav spot was the ice cream spot on site they give really big scoops. Hours of operation are great as a night light stop. Taco stall is so popular they ran out of food! Waterworks is a great addition to toronto and cant wait to see how it evolves! Check it out! Its worth it.
After the very long wait for the venue to open .found it disappointing. It was advertised as a European Food Hall, and this isn t close. This is a Food Court with a liquor license, slightly upscale from what you will find in a shopping mall. It is a beautiful space, however the interior design fails .average looking vendor stalls, crowded thin walkways inadvertently blocked by the lineups some bar and outdoor seating, but a lot of generic tables stuck in the middle of the traffic or tucked away in dark corners, etc. Too bad .it could have been so much more.
Great variety of food choices as well as indoor/outdoor seating options. Skylights let the sun into the double-height space, which is lovely. Went during weekday lunch rush - not as crowded as the Market at the Well so feels calmer, and unlike the Well, there are bar seating (if youd like proper dishware and cutlery instead of take out containers) at the food stalls. Be prepared to pay 20$+ for rather small portions, even more if you want to be full or have a drink with your meal. Seems to be dog friendly both out in the courtyard/patio and indoors.
Extremely overpriced Nothing in here is worth it They are charging restaurant prices for food court food
The Waterworks Food Hall is a must when visiting Toronto! Not only does the market have an array of local venders with high quality ingredients, there is a great bar to enjoy some local craft drinks either inside or outdoors on their huge patio! We tried the Musoshin Ramen, Soi Thai and Taco Lupita.
The Waterworks Food Hall is a lovely place. Its in an old building that has been transformed into an industrial looking space for upscale dining by multiple vendors. I was looking forward to tacos & wanted to try Taco Lupita. I was aware they had veggie options. On Monday July 8th at 11:40 I ordered the sweet potato taco & asked for no cream topping. The cashier asked one of the cooks who said no substitutions! though I really wanted an item eliminated. I would have been more understanding if there was a crowd but there was 1 person infront of me and nobody behind me, but about 6 of them. Not a vegan or vegetarian friendly vendor. No worries, I took my business to SOI thai foon. SOI thai foon had friendly staff. I asked about the ingredients in the Street thai noodles with tofu & they were happy to discuss with me. My meal was amazing. Im happy I ended up with this great meal (pic attached) My friend had a deli sandwich with coleslaw at Daves genuine Deli & BBQ. She thought it was great & commented about the thick cuts of deli meat (pic attached)
Had food from Dave s Deli yesterday. First of all the customer service was excellent. The guy who made the food explained the food options. He even recommended what he thinks we will like based on who we told him. Food was fantastic, I highly recommend you try their sandwiches. The atmosphere was pretty chill too.
This place is pretty good. Feels like an upscale St Lawrence market. Clean and open Had Harry s. It was pretty good Will be back!
You can tell its a new food hall and the vibe is vibrant. However, I feel the food is a bit overpriced. $20 before tax for 6 pcs sushi, or $19 before tax for 3 small~medium sized taco etc. It was an okay experience, but Im not sure if Ill frequent this place
Excellent Sushi. Nice beer.
It is not European style cuisine as it was advertised all over instagram.
It is still in process and newly opened. I loved the location. The whole area and even the rest rooms were clean . We ordered food from Karak & Aburi sushi and also coffee. The food tasted yum yum yum, triple, and the servers were amazing. A kind and helpful lady in Aburi Sushi helped with some recommendations to choose food for my son. He absolutely loved it. Some servers were walking around and taking care of the dinning area. I highly recommend this place. We will go back there again for sure.
I really liked this Food Hall! Very curated and intentional selection of vendors. I love the text feature that allows you to get a text message when your food is ready. My fav bites are the Oysters, Harrys Double Jane and Steak Fries & Gravy and Vit Beos Shrimp & Pork. But havent tried all vendors yet. Feedback to property folks is that although the unisex black toilets seemed sleek and esthetically pleasing, they show all splashes and drips and you might consider converting a few to urinals.
Great food and beautiful architecture!
Interesting concept for a food place. Plenty of options to choose from. Please can you get crowded on Friday or Saturday evening. Nice to check them out when you re in the area. I think there is no parking on site but there are plenty of street parking averaging about four dollars per hour.
we tried 4 different restaurants Saturday and we love it
Very overpriced. Expect to pay $20-25 per person if you don t want to leave feeling hungry. I ve tried a few places. Super small portions for the price you pay, delay in getting food and subpar service. Also they charge over $3 for a can of pop most places! It s absurd. I leave feeling annoyed every time I come here and think I ve had it now!
Went there for the first time and compared to other food halls I ve been to in North America and Europe this one has some growing to do. I found the offerings to be very homogeneous in terms of similar style of cuisine and nothing appealing to be honest. I had the Donair, which was OK, I forgot the name of the item from The Venezuelan food stall that was smash plantains talked with shouldn t beef, non-melted cheese, but the green sauce is really tasty and the service there was outstanding. I also had the upside down pineapple Cake and flavour was good, but I ve been dry. My sister had the poutine from Dave s deli and barbecue (Not pictured) That was basically fries and gravy As she was very sparse, but it taste was fair. I liked how they repurpose the old waterworks building, something from the atmosphere and it felt very disconnected. Maybe they needed a different layout so there was more communal seating. I would try it again once they work out the kinks, and possibly add some other food options.
Waterworks Food Hall is a decent option for casual dining in Toronto, but it doesnt quite live up to its European-inspired marketing hype or offer a compelling reason to choose it over other food halls in the city. The food options are diverse but fairly standard for a Toronto food hall. Youll find vendors like Harrys Charbroiled for burgers, Karak for stuffed naan, and Aburi Sushi. Dont expect to find many vegetarian options here. Pricing is on par with other food halls in the city, which doesnt make Waterworks stand out in terms of value for me . However, the hall has faced challenges in attracting vendors due to high rent and profit-sharing demands. This may explain the current lineup, which feels more basic than innovative. Thursday evening and it was completely dead.
Clean, airy and modern food hall. Not the biggest in the city but a good variety of options. Plus a park right outside the doors.
Food is decent. But Mojito from a can and charge $14?!?!?
Nice ambiance but most food options are not good
Beautiful interior but food is pricey for the portions - Had the tacos, pad kra pow (very flavourful with a tinge of burnt aftertaste), matzo balls soup (bland) and a scope of ice cream - bill was around $60 without the drinks. I had wanted to order the ramen but the portions were ridiculously small. This Food Hall is indeed another elevated food court for the hipsters and just a notch better than Queens Food Hall at Eaton Center due to revamped industrial space. Once again, Torontonians are celebrating mediocrity
Great spot, very modern dining hall in an old factory/shed building. Lots of great food options, BBQ restaurant very good l.
Great addition to the city, plenty of restaurants to choose in a well planned place.
Very nice Food Hall with a good variety of places to choose from, spamming different types of cuisine. The Bar offers very good beers, especially the waterworks pale ale. The service is fast and there is a lot of staff readily cleaning the place and the tables.
Glad to have a Harrys location back in the DT core. Arepas were also a highlight - though pricey.
The food hall has various restaurants, but unfortunately, there is no pastry shop available, only an ice cream place. The second floor is still under construction.
