Second time ordering from San Sivar and I remembered why I never went back from the first time. The pupusas barely has the ingredients. I’m only giving 2 stars for the food because I ordered pupusas revueltas (cheese, beans and pork) and the cheese and beans were never seen. The pupusas were delicious, the flavours are there but unfortunately not enough ingredients for me. The service for pick up was friendly and fast except for the guy who checked me out and didn’t even say hi or thank you.
I go here for the papusas, and they’re fantastic and very authentic. Delicious, filling and a great deal.
Do not come for tamales they were frozen and was not told was expecting fresh or at least hot food. They were rude but their Papusa was pretty good all they got to offer, to be honest
A 3 1/2 really. The pupusas were crispier than I normally have had, but still tasted really good. The platanos con frijoles y crema was excellent. Where they lost me was on the curtido - this is normally fermented, and juicy, here it was dry, and that’s where they lost a star for me. If I’m back in the area I’d eat here again.
Friendly simple clean place that's bigger than expected. Sadly, poorly textured greasy mushy pupusas $3 with no discernible pork, cheese or beans inside, just mush. Sweet fried plantains $6 with sour cream and beans were much better than the pupusas. They were out of horchata and tamarindo. They were also out of fried yucca. She forgot to ask me to pay at the cash register.
Excellent restaurant and service. My friends and I went to this restaurant based off of a recommendation. Authentic El Salvadorian food. The prices of the food were reasonable. For one pupasa it cost $3. I tried the pork and cheese pupasa and the grilled shrimp meal. Both tasty! In addition, we tried the horchata and the El Salvador pound cake. The horchata tasted like a chocolate milkshake and the cake was delicious. The only downside is that there's no parking lot although you can find parking nearby.
Really enjoyed the authentic food here. I've been to quite a few salvadorian restaurants and this one has the best pupusas. Thick, cheesy and tasty. Prices are fair. I have ordered the fried yuca and fried plantain, both well done.
Incredible! Get the Tamarindo juice the Pork and Cheese Pupusa and the beef tacos! Great Tamales too. You can't leave without trying the fried plantain with refried beans and cream dipping sauces. Hidden gem for sure!!
I felt like I was back home. I was taken back to my childhood food!!!
We loved everything! The chicken breast and beef soup were delicious. We liked them so much that we ordered pupusas to take away too.
Delicious, everything is delicious and very cheap! Simply delicious
Everything her is excellent. No more words than EXCELLENT
Best Pupusas in the city... amazing staff, reliable, always tastes amazing! Best homemade hot sauce and coleslaw Food
Underrated Spanish restaurant with delicious home style cooked food.
Great, pupusa were great
Great food, good service
Music super loud- wait time for food very long . Authenticity of food great Server - excellent Food : 4/5
The food is good but the cookers looks like mad when you order more food. Last time one of the Ladies told me NO when we order more pupusas. Sounds crazy because I ll pay for the food.
Terrible service, the lady of the place keeps fighting with local people when I have attended the place, in addition to the fact that it takes a long time to serve the food and the schedule is wrong! They stop serving at 5:30 pm because the lady is tired and does not want to continue serving/cooking and at that time she stops serving. Regardless of the fact that they close at 6:30 pm, they even close the place from 5:30 pm, they should change the hours!! In short, Bad Attention..
Excellent service but they need to update their hours, it is 6:40 pm and it is already closed, second time this has happened.
The best pupusas , I highly recommend this place
Food here is very very good. It is also very reasonably priced. This place is a gem
The food is delicious and seems authentic. The staff were polite and helpful.
This place is a great hidden gem, and were so happy we found it! Everything about our experience was amazing. Our server was fantastic and provided us with the best recommendations. Service was fast, and the food was unreal!
I dont recommend any of the soups and neither do the pupusas... Poor attention and also a lot of noise. Food
I came here because I was buying a vehicle next door and just wanted to eat anything, I was amazed about my experience. I didnt expect the food to be all that but wow, it was amazing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food, simply amazing! Best Chicken Tamal I ever had. I also had Yuca Frita with Chicharron, Pork and cheese pupusa, slaw, horchata and coffee - all of which were very good! Even the sauces! Portions were satisfying and price very reasonable! Thank you for the authentic food and the genuine welcome San Sivar! Its far from where I live but definitely will be back!
The popusas are very delicious but it is a terrible service 1 hour waiting 4 popusas are very late
The tamales are horrible, they look like jelly, the pupusas were not delicious, the service is SLOW, I do not recommend the place and I would not return
The real Salvadoran food and very accessible prices.
Amazing food, service is a bit slow but not rude or anything like that. You re coming here for the prices and the quality food though! Beef tacos - 8.5/10 Pupusa - 10/10
Probably the best pupusas in Toronto. This spot really has the home cooked meal vibes, which is why Ive become a regular there!
An excellent place to eat quietly
Great take out spot. Parking yo pick up your food can be tricky as it is right in a busy intersection. The staff is always friendly but simple orders can take a long time. Food is fantastic and still at a reasonable price point.
Amazing
As we walked into the restaurant the waitress didn t greet us so we decided to walk towards an empty table which was dirty I had to asked the waitress to clean the table for us she gaves us a rude look after that she took down our orders and brought us our food the food tasted very bland she didn t provide the sauce that came with the pupusa the place needs a deep cleaning the walls were filthy with grease then after wards me and my friend went to the washroom then comes the same waitresses barging in to see what we were doing and walked right back out which didn t make any sense to me I didn t feel welcome here as it was our first time coming never again terrible service
They say the close at 6:30 And my girl and my baby got therw at 5 and they were closed and they just hung up on me 4 times that it speaks for it self Lack of profesionalism Food : 1/5
My experience hasnt been to good so far. First off the floors are not leveled, our coffee spilled and made a mess. The food was Allright for a breakfast. The place looks very outdated almost felt like I was back in the ghetto at Chester chicken. Either way dont come here because you wont get good service and the pupusas arent that good.
My experiencia here was not to good. The tables move all over, because the floor is very un even my coffee spill. The place has no heater, very cold. The breakfast took so long to arrive. The restaurant its old and very rachet. This is canada and it should much better represented.
The beans were burned, and coffee was cold when served.
I liked everything except that they dont open at the time mentioned
Food was not bad, overall no problem with the food. That being said, the service was horrible.
The place is very bad, the tablecloths are dirty, every time a diner finishes eating, the plates are not lifted and they take a long time to serve you, up to an hour, and someone always arrives after you and they wait until the end.
Excellent place to eat, the food is exquisite and the price is better than other places, without a doubt a very good place.
Parking: There is a big plaza across the street with lots of parking spaces. I never have any problems to park week days or weekends Kid-friendliness: Owners and staff are very friendly. I go there often and always take to go. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is In the in first floor. The entrance does not have stairs.
Excellent service, excellent attention and very delicious food, recommended
Not opened =(
Really really tasty homemade pupusas at extremely reasonable prices
I used to order food not anymore ,now they have a rude waitress if she continue there they will go bankruptcy
Amazing food and value. Im addicted to the Yuca Frita con Chicharrón. Please open back up. We drive by twice a week to see if you have opened back up. We love you and send our best wishes for you to open again. Im in withdrawal
Delicious food, kind service, amazing prices, big portions mmmm I miss you guys, please open soon. We need an update. God bless you
hidden gem of the city. I try to get the pupusas as often as possible. great family, hoping youll re open soon!
Papusas! Papusas! Papusas! So good, I usually go to the markadito to get my papusas and now I am glad I am closer to a restaurant that serves them. So delicious I picked up 8 and ate them all with my girlfriend in one sitting
The food is delicious, the pupusas, the tacos
Love the food
Very friendly staff, quick service, clean environment, nice and cozy.
The best Salvadoran Papusas in the city. I like places that have the vibe that there are a bunch of grannies in the back pumping out home-cooked food and will yell at me if I don t finish my plate. I have travelled to El Salvador and backpacked the countryside - this place takes me back! Portions are generous and well priced. Highly recommend!
The best place for el salvadorian food! Very authentic! Good prices, great food, great staff. I love this place.
Excellent food and good service.
Forever craving this for breakfast
Great breakfast we occasionally do take out when we head to the area for a great Salvadoran breakfast as my hubby is from there. Portions are good as well as the prices for what you get.
We have been going to San Sivar since its opening. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, quick and its such a homey feel!
Huge portions!
Just make sure you call before getting there because they close whenever they want. We where there at 4:30 and they were already closed when it says they close at 6:30.
My favorite spot to have lunch at. The beef burrito is definitely top tier. Family own restaurant with love and care for their food.
My fave location - I m a huge Sivar fan. My typical order is the beef burrito. it says it all in terms of product quality & presentation. Every order at this location has been top notch and the service is excellent.
Very delicious food
One of my favorite restaurants in Toronto!
Incredible home cooked traditional meals, amazing service and delicious food.
My husband and I finally tried this restaurant in the neighbourhood and love it. Delicious Salvadorian food. The staff are so hardworking and put so much love into the food they make! The bean and cheese pupusa is so good... l will keep coming back for more! I also really enjoyed the perfectly made plantain. The tamarind juice is good, not too sweet or tangy. I can t wait to try more menu items but from what I hear, it s the pupusas that will keep you coming back for more! Thank you San Sivar for introducing us to authentic Salvadorian pupusas!
Very delicious food
1st Time: It was delicious! And youre not gonna break the bank to enjoy! Such good value. Wanna go back! 2nd Time Went back and the Pupusas didnt hit the same. Not as thin and crispy as the last. The plate was yummy still.
The best Salvadorean restaurant in Toronto! The quality of the food was amazing and the service was very friendly! I went on a Saturday so it was busy and the waiting time was pretty long but I don t blame them, there was just two ladies cooking. Overall 5/5
Best beef taco I ve ever had
Those people are very rude when serving customers, I will never return.
I recently got me some Pupas from here and I must confess they were delicious! Pupusas were meaty and worth the price! the only reason I dont give full stars is because there was no Loroco for the cheese pupusas, and that is a MUST if i say so myself, also there is no parking space and you must park on the main road(St Clair) when taking it to go. I would recommend and I will return (hopefully there will be loroco next time)! :) Parking: they are located right at a busy corner on St Clair, so parking is difficult
Love this place
Love the ladies there . Food is very good and amazing prices
We noticed that google lists this restaurant as opening at 10:30 on Saturday s, but it s actually 11am. Worth the wait!
Delicious and affordable breakfast!! Dont miss out on this place!!
Okay food, bad service personally I would try a different place. Would not recommend, for dining in. Maybe takeout?
Awesome food if you have time to wait. They are slow to serve but well priced. The place is a bit small, albiet, cozy.
It is super tasty. Only go with time, it takes time to prepare their delicious pupussas.
Very delicious food at a very good price, highly recommended
My fave pupusa place! I am hooked on the bean and cheese ones and I love eating in or getting takeaway. It is a cosy place with lovely service. I am so glad I found it. Great prices and fresh and delicious.
It was overcooked, flavorless mush. Staff are non-existent.
good food but very dirty place you have to clean the tables yourself
My favorite pupusa place, they have the best horchata Ive had in Toronto by far but their service is a little slow, I love this place...
The customer services is terrible, The pupusas were delicious couple years ago, now the make them as a factory without enough filling, today in my takeout order the forgot the sauce Food
I always used to come here with my friends, really enjoyed the food. But lately, theyve been so rude, their treatment is just awful. Even though the service is bad, I never complained because I like the taste. Recently, the staff told us to leave in a not-so-nice way because more customers came, even though my friend was still eating. They never asked nicely to free up the table before. When we told the cashier how rude the staff was, he didnt care. This place is just full of rude and bad behavior from all the employees.
Riksimooo!!!
Good and tasty pupusas, good price
I always go for the pupusas, which were tasty, the scrambles today, it seems that they put malgarine instead of cheese, they are horrible and bad service, the mixed plate has nothing to do with it, the truth is that they have changed too much with the flavor
Super super slow service, we stayed 45 min to get 3 tacos???
Great food, TERRIBLE SERVICE, bad service ruins your good food, if you want to go to a place where you feel like they are doing you a favor and that you are not paying for the food, this is the right place.
Very delicious, you have to order the food in advance since there are always many people.
Cute spot with delicious food. Good price. Friendly cook!
The best pupusas in the GTA & trust me Ive tried most restaurants. Make sure to go here to try authentic salvy food
Coming from a salvadorian, I 100% recommend their pupusas. The owner is super sweet every time we walk in.
Good
stopped by on recommendation of a friend. Top notch! papusa only 3 dollars each with slaw and sauce. soooo good. I will be back everytime I am in the area. 2 papusa are big enough for a decent meal. Not many places left you can get a quality meal for 6 bucks. I hope this place stays around.
I am in love with the pupusa s here! I always get everything ones I have also tried the fried plantain with crème and black beans it was so mouthwateringly delicious! A definite must try with VERY good prices! Yum yum
Good food
The food is very very delicious, the sauce is very good, the prices are affordable, the only thing missing for its 5 stars is the cleanliness of the place
That place was so organized and they taken your order fast
Best place for Latin food hands down
Delish!! Must try! Everything was well seasoned.
Easily my favorite pupusaria in Toronto. Family run, the ladies are sweet as pie, food is incredible. Cannot give enough love to this joint
Good price
A must go! And if it looks closed its not. We made sure to visit this place on our trip back to Ontario from the east coast. Definitely as good as we remembered. We got the pork, bean, and cheese papusas. The prices here are amazing and the atmosphere is calm and easy going. The food is sooooo good and reminds us of our time in Belize. Whenever we visit Toronto this is on the top of our list of must go restaurants!
Good food
The spices that were used made a good flavor but the ingredients used were of low quality. The lettuce is bad. The bread isnt high quality. The beef is ok but chicken is low quality. The bean sauce was watered down and not tasty at all. I enjoyed the flavor at first, but near the end of my meal, I wasnt enjoying the food at all!
Best tacos and papupas in the city easily! They load up the tacos with protein. Great sauces and hospitality. Love the women that work here, theyre so sweet and kind.
No flavor tacos
Affordable and delicious! Would recommend the Pupusas con todo!
We always order tacos and pupusas at San Sivar. The food is excellent and affordable, and the service is always friendly.
Great family operated business. Food is amazing & prices are even better. Would definitely recommend!!
I didnt ask for an order of Yuca, I asked for an order of Chicharrón, the truth is that they go overboard with the pittance of chicharrón they give.
I love the pupusas here! Theyre big and flavorful. The salsa they serve with them enriches the flavor. Its the second time Ive been, and Ill continue to return just for these ;D
The best
Delicious big tits. Salvadorans go to!
Very good pupusas
Rude people, worst costumer service
the food
Delicious, good price. You can order first to order and then go and pick up. Only remember well the name of each plate, if dont, they dont help you.
This unassuming place offers the best pupusas in Toronto. The owners are really warm and nice. So why only 4 stars? Opening hours are erratic, and they all too often seem to run out of pupusas by the early evening, leaving potential diners hungry and disappointed. Still, the food is worth coming back again and hoping that the place is open!
Good food. But it needs good face left overall needs good cleaning Kitchen needs good cleaning it smells not sure where it is coming from bad
The breakfast was sooo good!
Was hesitant to post this since I understand they are a family owned business. Both women at the counter were exceptionally rude to me, to the point where I just decided to leave. Really not sure why they behaved that way. Reading the rest of the one star reviews, it seems that this isnt uncommon
Fairly priced with great food
Food is ok, not bad not amazing really is nothing special. But the customer service is terrible. Both ladies running the place are rude and could care less about their customers. They lost out and quite a lot of buisness due to their poor attitude but as I said they could care less. Place is also pretty small and dingy, spare yourselves the trip and go someplace else! Titas just down the street is amazing if youre craving Latin American food and much better service and nicer atmosphere!
Customer service, both in person and over the phone
Terrible service from the waitress, I will never return
the food is delicious only the attention is fatal because they always serve with a bad character I will continue coming I hope and they improve the service
Great food and good portions. Coffee was delicious as well.
I have been coming here since it opened and it is one of the best places to eat. I have tried almost everything on the menu at it is always delicious! Vegetarian options: They make great variety of foods and will work with you to customize your order. Kid-friendliness: This is a great family friendly and family owned restaurant.
I love love love Salvadoran food. Genuine and fresh, Las San Sivar is a great place to savour this cuisine. I had the beef soup (served only weekends) It was delish! I also had their mixed pupusa, plantains with cream and tamales as takeout. All were top notch
The best and most affordable Pupusas con todo in the West. This place is a jewel. Home Cooked Salvadoran good to die for. Plus their prices are great and their portions are super generous. We love the black beans that come with the steaks, sadly you can t buy them by themselves. The bistec encebollado and mixed plate are fantastic. The Chicharron con Yuca side is absolutely delicious. Takes me home with each bite. The staff is very welcoming and make you feel at home every time. We went close to their closing time once and they were very patient and let us finish our dishes while they started tidying up. To be fair Google said 7 and they closed at 6:30, we arrived around 6:15 thinking that there would be enough time and fortunately it was. Their hours in Google have been updated since.
Very affordable and flavor is there.
It is a nice home made central american meals.
Best pupusas you can get in the area
First time at this local spot. Food tastes fresh and prices are very reasonable. Will be back soon for their breakfast (to go).
I honestly dont think theres any other restaurant that can top this place for the great taste and authenticity of their pupusas. Ive ordered pupusas from Las San Sivar for many years and each time they hit the spot! The dough is nice and thin, perfectly grilled and stuffed generously to perfection! I usually order the bean, cheese & pork (con todo) and the bean & cheese pupusas. The cabbage (curtido) topping has the perfect crunch and mildly vinegar flavor, I never let any go to waste and usually eat it on its own if theres some leftover I absolutely love it!! (but that might just be me from growing up in a sauerkraut home) Their sweet fried plantain that comes with beans and crema is super delicious too! You cant beat the price for the serving you get. Id be heart broken to ever see them go!!
Pupusas is so good I came with a lot of friends in middle school we will be coming back
Big, delicious, well priced pupusas!
I did not like the service, they were rude. The food tasted good btw.
Delicious food
There are the best pupusas in Toronto good flavor and always fresh.
Best pupusas in Toronto
Very fast and good food they serve.
Delicious pupusas. Very authentic, good prices and portions. Highly recommend!
Delicious pupusas. We love the mixed chicharrón with cheese or the bean ones too. They come well served, with sauces and cabbage on the side. The asada tacos are delicious. The food here is quite affordable in price.
