Snug local Vietnamese sandwich chain outpost boasting a casual vibe & classic array of sub combos.
🕦2024OCT30 15:07 💰BBQ Chicken $6.50 no tax 🗒️Service was fast, price is affordable, best Banh Mi choice in town. ⚠️No tax, cash only!
I've been coming here for decades, and it's still my go-to spot for a quick, filling lunch. The Banh Mi sandwiches are packed with flavor, super satisfying, and always leave me full. I love how close it is, making it easy to grab one on the go. Plus, you can't beat the price, it’s fast, cheap, and totally worth it. Just have to remember: cash only!
this local gem is singlehandedly keeping the whole chinatown neighborhood fed with their amazing prices and amazing banh mis. bread is a little tough but for $4.50-$6.50 (no tax) you can’t get any better. cash only!
I have looked down upon this little store until I ate their beef meatball! It’s the taste from Hong Kong!! Super recommend to buy their beef meatball. And Banh Mi taste good in a very low price! Also recommend!
Love my BBQ chicken banh mi and fresh rolls, very flavorful. The size and fillings have been reduced significantly due to inflation but 6.5/sub is still affordable and reasonable. Can't compare to home food but it's still worth a visit for everyone who is into Vietnamese food. It's just a take out shop so buy and go.
This is the place. Those Bánh mì in plastic bags at T&T, this is that company. These, at least, are freshly made. Solid Bánh mì. Nothing fancy. Can't go wrong, $5.50 for a large. Cash only.
My go to spot for Banh Mi (vietnamese style subs). Cheap sandwiches that fill you up. I usually get the Assorted Cold Cut which comes with house mayonnaise and meat spread topped with sliced pork and picked carrots and radish (parsley optional). Super savoury from the meat spread and the bread is chewy while the veggies add a nice crunch.
This is a local staple. Banh Mi Nguyen Huong has been around for years and I've always enjoyed their banh mi sandwiches. The classic Vietnamese sandwich with your choice of fillings. Located in the heart of the Spadina Chinatown, it's easily accessible by the 510 and 505 streetcars. Honestly, not much has changed in this place. The decor, the layout, the menu has pretty much stayed the same all these years. Of course, as with many other places, the prices certainly reflect the times. So, do expect that your average banh mi sandwich will run you about $5.50+ depending on the one you get. All sandwiches come in spicy and non-spicy. The sandwich featured here is their average banh mi sandwich (no extra toppings added, non-spicy). They also have a myriad of other food items that you can pick up to eat as little sides or appetizers or 'walk around town' food. There are rice dishes (sweet and savory), various rice flour rolls and other rice flour based dishes to choose from. You can also get some sweet mixed bean drinks in their fridge section as well a variety of Vietnamese sweets. We picked up a few spring rolls (not hot, room temperature at best, veggie option) and they did the trick but I would say average at best in terms of ingredients and flavour. What keeps us coming back to Banh Mi Nguyen Huong is this one rice cake dish. As shown in the images, the rice cake is made in trays and cut into cubes. They're sauteed on the grill with a hint of salty pickled veggies, green onions and eggs. Top this savory dish with the nuoc cham fish dipping sauce (sweet and savory) and let the happy dance begin. If you're in the area, I would strongly recommend giving this treat a try.
Best banh mi spot in the city.
I wasnt expecting much, but the lemongrass tofu was really delicious. This is 4,500 won?? Really best value for money
Delicious, cheap, and the ladies are very accommodating
Best authentic Banh Mi in the city. I cant pass by without stopping in. The bread, cold cuts, toppings and spreads are always fresh because of the volumes they do. I am not going to rate the service and atmosphere because this shop is about effientcy and value. If you want a great Banh Mi for a great price, dont be concerned with the atmosphere. The service is in the value, efficiency and product. In those respects it gets 5 stars. Word of advice, have your cash ready when you get to the checkout counter if you dont want an uncomfortable gaze from the cashier and other patrons used to quick in-and-out experience. Hope this review helps. Happy dining!
If you re looking for an angry unfriendly lady serving Banh Mi this is the place. If you re looking for good Banh Mi unfortunately this is also the place. All the stereotypes on SM is actually true here Had a pork skin Banh Mi. One of the few places that serves pork skin so had to try it. The bread is a bit under baked so they are as crispy. The pork skin the mayonnaise was very good. the price is unbeatable at 5.50$
Best Banhmi in the city !!
Its cheap and the taste is pretty good. It doesnt have any fishy smell or anything like that, but the unfortunate thing is that only cash payment is possible.
OG for Banh Mi. Cash only. Have also takeaway rice, noodles, fried appetizers, cold cut meats, etc. No seating. Chinatown staple for over 30 years. Vegetarian options: Confirm Dietary restrictions: Confirm Parking: Its ok Spadina. Find whats available in the neighborhood. Kid-friendliness: Sure Wheelchair accessibility: Call to confirm
so authentic, so spicy, you are worthy and valuable (value for money). i love you
Really great Vietnamese bang mi. Many varieties to choose from. Traditional banh mi style.
Good and cheap. Cant argue with that.
Love this place
One of the oldest but famous Vietnamese Sandwich places in the city! Their food quality is consistent and for how long theyve been in the business, they have everything down to a system. They start pretty early to start their sandwiches which gets outsourced to other grocery stores like T&T Supermarket that mark up the price. This Chinatown location is their main location while other locations reside in Scarborough, North York and even Vaughan as well! Dont be afraid by the staff, its so easy to get the assorted cold cut sandwich at the cashier and skip the line (instead of waiting in the line for customization). The lady at the cashier is not that intimating and understands English. The small assorted cold cut usually gets me through the day especially with $3.50 for a small what a bargain! They also offer the $4.50 for a large or other sandwich combinations if you want to wait in line. They also offer a bunch of ready to eat fresh roll wraps or noodles in the cold section as well. Dont forget, cash only at this location!
1 star for their service today. I purchased banh mi for $4.50. I handed over $5.50 in bill and small loose change; expecting to get back $1 loonie. At first, the lady didn t give me any change. After saying something, she gave me $0.50 in change. I explained to her I gave her $5.50 and I should get back $1, she yelled at me no! So, she scammed me out of $0.50. By the way, they accept cash only.
Amazing Bahn mi as usual. We always get the assorted ones.
Awesome sandwiches and super low price , was in and out in a few minutes and the food was delicious
I was in the area with a dear friend. We stopped in and looked around. We ordered banh mi sandwiches. They were delicious. The staff were very friendly.
Who cares for the service if all they do is get you your Banh Mi $5ish cash only no tax. Very delicious and would recommend the cold cut one
Great Banh Mi at a great price point. A lot of the Banh Mi you can find at one of the local Asian grocery stores come from this place. Be warned though - this place is cash only.
This place used to be the go to spot for cheap yummy Banh mi since the early 2000 s. They ve changed the bread recipe. Now it s weirdly shiny, malleable, and plastic tasting. Sits dense in the pit of your stomach. You can tell it s not real food. Tastes like a factory made it. Seek better options
Very cheap & quick the go to spot for authentic Veitmanese street food.
A take out Vietnamese street food restaurant. Been going for years. So good and still affordable even after doubling cost since Covid.
Great for a quick bite!
Authentic, tasty, delicious Vietnamese Banh Mi being dished out super fast and for very reasonable prices. The bbq Pork was the highlight, cold cut was OK.
The $5.50 sandwiches is why I love going to this place, and they taste delicious
The restaurant sells many delicious Vietnamese dishes, especially delicious sandwiches and spring rolls, reasonable prices, rich flavors, fresh ingredients, enthusiastic staff and owners. Parking: There are a few paid parking spaces on the street.
It is a go-to place when you crave for Vietnamese Bahn-mi. It has many options and you can mix and match. Their bahn-mi is tasty. The price is very reasonable. They are cash-only so prepare your cash.
Best Viet sub you can get for around $5!! Love the fresh bread!!
U won t find better prices and faster service anywhere else in Chinatown
Sandwich tastes bland
Cheap cheap cheap.
Cheap prices
Really stingy with their banh mi filling... No pickled radish and literally ONE sliver of cucumber that only covered half of the banh mi. Aside from their seriously lacking banh mi, their prepared food items from the fridge are good
Fresh ingredients, super quick service, and a flavourful banh mi! Cash only Food : 5/5
The Bahn Mi are really good. But had a rubber band inside our sandwich. We were chewing it thinking it was meat. It was unpleasant but the sandwich still tasted delicious.
Lots of items for take away, no inside use
Cheap and delicious!!
Cheap and good! I ve tried the tofu lemon grass and the og.
Amazing tofu banh mi Excellent price very filling traveled from ottawa to Toronto cause only the best will do
Been coming to this place for years and the food is consistently delicious. Great portions for the price, not only for the banh mi! 5-out-of-5 stars from me!
Cheapest banh mi place downtown. Make sure to get the cold cut banh mi, it s delicious! (Cash only place)
Go-to no frills banh mi spot in the city that always hits the spot. They also have lots of other prepared meals, spring rolls, fresh rolls, and other foodstuffs. Know what banh mi you re getting before you come as things move fast. Cash only.
You can try the food here if you like to get a change on your taste. They have fresh food always.
The staff was so rude, didn t even give me a chance to speak. Have never experienced such a lack of customer service.
One of my favourite go-to sandwiches. Good value and I like the taste. Service needs some improvement though. Also, cash only.
In the late mid 1990s it was $2 for a large sandwich and now its $6 and its still a great deal, still tastes great, and remains the exact same ingredients, nothing removed, no shrinkflation or change in price for last 2 years. People serving are the same friendly people since back when. They also have ready togo cold meals, various spring rolls, and rice/meat dishes. Cash only, its a small space, limited room to maneuver, and always a line of people ordering sandwiches. They also carry other national dishes Im not familiar with.
Used to buy classic the Vietnamese sandwich for $2.00 each but now it s $5.50 each but the taste stayed the same.
Edit: Changing my rating of 4 stars to 2 stars. Went back recently to purchase a few of their refrigerated items. At the counter, I was charged an additional $7.00 for Grocery when I only purchased 3 meat items and 1 banh mi. The cashier had to manually punch in each individual item and I felt pressured to leave because there was an influx of customers at the time. I did not realize until I arrived home and checked the receipt which was fault on my part. I did not expect the additional charge whatsoever. Double check the receipt prior to leaving with your items.
Best banh mi in town
Delicious, authentic banh mi!
They premake the banh mi sandwiches in advance and dont toast them. Overall authentic flavor. Lots of other great food options as well though.
Bánh mì good and close enough to the actual one, the bread was not crispy but might be due to being bought in the evening. Short 2 bucks and the lady was kind enough to let me pay back later
This place serves the cheapest spring rolls Ive seen in the city. That being said.. they werent very good.. but definitely edible if youre hungry and starving to death
Pricing is pretty considerate and they have the most authentic banh mi compared to other places
Tried the cold cut and veggie bahn mi. Both were very delicious! Service was fast, and sandwiches were cheap.
My favourite Banh Mi place since I was a kid! They ve been there for so long the staffs can all speak multiple languages such as English, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin. Very impressive. And the price has always been affordable. Food
Cash only
Literally the greatest banh mi of all time.
Go to
My favorite banh mi in the city! Fast, delicious, reasonably priced. Vegetarian options: Lemongrass tofu Food : 5/5 |
I m from Niagara and we used to come here all the time when I was a child for the best Bahn mi. Now I live in Toronto and it s still been my go to for all these years! They make them all fresh and fast for a great price. Thank you for all your hard work!
Best bang-for-the-buck banh mi, period. This is a take away only place.
For decades, Banh Mi Nguyen Huong has been quietly feeding the neighborhood with its irresistible Vietnamese sandwiches. Tucked away in the heart of downtown Toronto, this unassuming storefront has become a local legend. Unbeatable Prices: Let s talk about the prices first. They ve always been a steal, and even though they ve gone up a bit over the years, you won t find a better sandwich for just $5. Yes, you read that right five bucks for a flavor-packed banh mi that ll make your taste buds dance.
Stapled Vietnamese restaurants.
Costs $5.50 for a large and $4.50 for regular sandwich as of May 15, 2024. Noticed that other items are now portioned smaller but the same price as well. Inflation and shrink-flation here we come!
The only place I go for the Vietnamese sandwich in Toronto!
Cheap to go food.
Crazy how little they put inside Banh mi since inflation. I use to buy these all the time and it was filled with carrots and radish now there s no radish and a pinch of carrots, I m eating all bread at this point.
Chinatown staple, authentic taste and fresh ingredients for a great price.
My parents brought me here when I was a kid and now Im doing the same. Prices have increased but its still a staple in our family. Their deep fried meat spring roll is awesome when freshly made. I stick to the old-school assorted cold cut. My new favorite is their iced Vietnamese coffee. Soooo good!
OG banh mi . Been getting my sammies here since they were 2$ spicy tofu 4life!
Love this place usually. Service isn t the best but the ban mi is great for the price. Unfortunately yesterday I got a rubber band in my sandwich. I was already on the road and couldn t go back. They need to do a better job of keeping the sandwich filling area clean and organized. Vegetarian options: Ban mi can be made vegetarian. Ask for no mayo to make it vegan.
Cash only spot (which can be inconvenient but there are many ATMs nearby). Came here to buy ingredients to make a banh mi board - prices were inexpensive and reasonable, we were able to put together a small board for ~$20 which could somewhat feed around 2-3 people. Food or ingredients itself wise, everything was delicious. Atmosphere is admittedly a bit daunting if you speak English only, but the staff is simply direct and matter of fact . If you ask for something (ie. I asked for a smaller tub of butter / beef fat instead of their standard containers), they will provide.
Super great value. You ll be hard pressed to find something for $5 nowadays. Cash online! I got the cold cut banh mi sandwich and it was filling
Delicious sandwiches! Very economical and with a lot of variety! Recommended
Quick, healthy, and cheap grab if you re busy a banh mi costs around $5-$6..which is insanely cheap considering how costly food is in the city! Quick service as well, in and out within 10 minutes
Quick and easy service. Cash only. Was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Banh mi was more stuffed (I got the cold cut) than some other locations and you cant beat the price of these! Will happily support this business again.
$5 for a large sandwich. I usually go for the lemongrass tofu sandwich since I err towards vegetarian options. I took my relatives here while they were visiting Toronto. Hes Vietnamese and ordered #1 (assorted cold cuts) among other things. He was impressed with the authentic foods here. The pandan mungbean layered steamed cakes are one of my weaknesses!
It was ok
The best
Fantastic Banh Mi and Fresh Rolls for more than fair prices. We made it a point to stop here in Toronto while we were there and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch while exploring Chinatown. Youll be in and out in under 5 minutes, and under ten dollars.
Probably the best banh mi in the city. Lots of options to choose from at the ready-made counter as well. For the price it is completely outstanding. I will be back here many many times. Vegetarian options: The lemongrass tofu is really really good!!! There are more options at the ready-made counter as well.
Sandwiches are really good. Get the 5$ large #1 you get more meat and a better baguette than the 4$ one. Another must try is the BBQ pork for 6$ You wont find these prices for a full sandwich anywhere these days. The ingredients are fresh too. The cold food is also really good. I recommend the noodles, mixed meats and spring rolls. Heat up the spring roll in the oven at home, it tastes so much better.
I think they wanna show authentic street food with stomachache next day food was ok price is good but I asked for no cilantro but they gave to me to try I don t get stomachache much but not this time and same as my friend I shouldn t try if store looks like this I learned
Be careful to check out some of the dessert, it was made for long time
Its a $5 banh mi, where can you go wrong? Delicious and filling, Id only ever get the small (which has significantly less meat) if youre feeling a lighter option. Other dishes include rice rolls, desserts and fried rice in refridgerated takeaway containers for similar pricing ($5.50-7). I just realised today they ALSO have other sub options for the same price including lemongrass chicken and honey garlic sausage, I cant wait to try them all!
My go to place for banh mi since 1990s. I went there on Chinese new year this year and they were closed. I then realized that they are the only banh mi in Chinatown.
Foods really cheap, foods delicious. Cant really complain.
Been going here 20+ years, still the best
The best banhmi spot in the city
4 bucks for what a piece of bread and two slices of meat. Go to subway
Its a take-out only place with great spring rolls, sandwiches, and prepared plates with different meat, rice, and noodle options. Parking: It is better to travel there by transit. Street parking is very limited.
Super good and affordable banh mi my after school snack fr
One of the best value places you can get in the city. A very quick, no frills banh mi takeout place. Cash only, in and out of the place quick, and very well priced for the sandwich.
Great bahn mi sandwiches and love the rice noodles!
tasty, delicious and cheap !! Just bring cash with you. Food
Best bahn mi in the city! Dont forget, this place is cash only.
The best place for proper Banh Mi. Make sure to visit if youre in the area or just go there, period. Bring cash for a quick transaction. Banh Mi Nguyen is the only place you can fill up on banh mi and other snacks for $5. Beware of the spice... its spicy! Go to: Lemongrass sausage banh mi Deli banh mi Pre-packaged noodles The space is small for a quick grab and take it home or to the nearby parks. No nonsense, simple spot for great food to go.
So good! Classic Toronto Banh mi spot. This pic of horrendous but it was amazing food.
The staffs is so rude.
I ve been coming to this Vietnamese sandwich store for as long as I can remember (since I was in grade school!). There are a number of Vietnamese sub stores that popped up and closed while this shop remains in business. Their subs are definitely delicious. I also enjoy their Vietnamese donut and small selection of desserts. Appreciate the transparency with the signs outlining the sub options and price menu. Opportunity - introduce debit/credit payment option (especially with my turnoff feedback below!). There is one lady that is often very rude to customers and if you ever change your mind and add to your order after putting in your order, she gives you big attitude. As well, there is one cashier who tends to short change you if you don t pay attention to what you buy. I wish management coaches these two individuals! Vegetarian options: Offer 2 vegetarian options for sub (ensure you indicate no butter and pate, depending on the degree of vegetarian you are). Also has vegetarian spring rolls (fresh and frozen options).
Rude staff need to understand that not only vietnamese people eat their food and need to be patient when taking orders.
Great prices, and the food is filling! Not the highest tasting food, but its great for the price. Service is quick and easy. Only accepts cash$.
The best place to get banh mi in Toronto :)
Dietary restrictions:
Best value in town! Very fast service! Cash only though. The banh mi were delicious!
Nice banh mi for very good prices
Huge sandwiches. Worth thr money.
Great sandwich place and very affordable! We got a small cold cut and a large BBQ pork and both were delicious. Very refreshing and light. Theres no dine in but the sandwich is perfect for on the go. Their BBQ pork has some sweetness to it. Everything was made very quickly.
Cheap and delicious banh mis ($5 for a large) and other pre-made Vietnamese meals in the fridge which Im not familiar with. I just picked a rice roll that looked good to me and that was fresh and delicious. The price to pay for this deal is cash only.
May 2023: large banh mi (classic, ham) was $5.
2nd edit: I went back again, and thankfully, I was treated nicely but served by a different lady. The rude lady was there but was busy doing something else, lucky for me! My tofu sandwich was made as I requested, spicy! Thankfully, it was a great experience, which means Ill be back, and my rating will go back up to a 5 star. The lemongrass tofu Bahn Mi is the best Ive ever had. Edited: I dropped my rating from a 5 to a 4 because of the service I received today. I went back again a week after my initial review and asked for two lemongrass tofu sandwiches spicy, and one assorted bahn ni not spicy. The lady grabbed three pre-made sandwiches and threw them into a bag. When I asked her if the tofu sandwiches were spicy, she said, Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew she was lying to me, but I didnt want to argue as they were busy. Guess what? She fluffed me off with her. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and I didnt get spicy sandwiches like I requested. The customer service sucks. Dont treat the non-asians badly. We also keep your business going. Ill give them one more try. If Im treated badly and lied to it again, it will, unfortunately, be my last. I might even drop my rating to a 3 this bugged me so much. I stopped in for a vegan lemongrass Bahn mi sandwich while out and about in Chinatown. It was absolutely fantastic!!! It was chock-full of lemongrass tofu, julienne carrots, cilantro, topped off with chilies, and all stuffed into a super fresh and crusty sandwich bun. Im salivating just thinking about it! The lady serving me was fast and efficient, not the friendliest, but that was fine with me, I wasnt looking to make any friends. The best part?? The sandwich cost only $4.00!! Will I be back? Absolutely, I will be, but next time, Ill be ordering a second lemongrass tofu sandwich for lunch the next day. The picture I have attached is of the Tofu Bahn Mi.
Been buying sandwiches here for as long as I could remember (I remember when the sandwiches were only $1 each, thats how long Ive been coming here, so 20+years). I always order the original (Assorted Cold Cut). So I have no idea what else is on the menu. Never leave without buying a small pack of pate and mayo. (Mix those two up in a bowl, spread it on a slice of bread or bagel, stick it in the toaster oven, and presto! Best breakfast in the world). One other thing I miss from the good oldays are the pickled white daikon they used to put in the sandwiches. If you hate cilantro, Id recommend plucking it out before you take a bite. If youre ordering for a group, you can ask for the chilis separately; let the fire breathers customize how hot they want their sandwiches. Parking: Very difficult to find parking in downtown Toronto, especially Chinatown. Recommend parking on a side-street then walking there or one of the underground parking lots. Better yet, take the TTC. Kid-friendliness: Offered in different sizes, can ask them to cut the sandwich in half. Order the non-spicy option if your kid/kids cant handle spice.
Best place to get authentic banh mis. In love with their bbq pork banh mi!!!
This is the one.
Their lemongrass tofu banh mi si out of this world! Vegetarian options: Their tofu lemongrass banh mi is so delicious. So fresh tasting. Food : 5/5 |
Great place for Bahn mi
so good $5
My family has loved Nguyen Huong for over 20 years! Their banh mi is the best and so authentic. All of the other to-go snacks and desserts are also delicious.

Bad customer service.
Cheapest banh mi ever!
Just your traditional Vietnamese sub. Always been a sample in downtown Chinatown toronto. If you re craving a Vietnamese sub. This place won t disappoint beside maybe the service and the interior of the store. Nothing fancy just get in and get out. $5 for a large sub.
poor service and bad attitude of staffs we felt so disappointed Service
Food is really local Vietnamese. Service is good. Atmosphere-wise is no because its not dine in restaurant.
Absolutely delicious banh mi! I got the bbq chicken and next time i want to try the cold cut combo. Lovely to sit in the park and enjoy it!
Looking for a cheap place to grab a bite! At this restaurant, you can pick up a large banh mi for just $5! The portion sizes are decent and its a pretty good bang for your buck!
Can t complain about $5 banh mi sandwiches ready within seconds of ordering. Always worth stopping by when I m in the area.
UPDATE: As of July 2023, its $4 for a small and $5 for a large banh mi. Hands down one of the most underrated sandwich spots in the city. The assorted cold cut never fails to please. As of July 2021, its $3.50 for a small and $4.50 for a large Banh Mi. Just a reminder that its cash only here.
Except for their breads made daily, other stuff can be old with mold in them.
Best ice coffee in T.O!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome sandwich very happy and we enjoy it very much
Fresh and Delicious banh mi for a very good price.
I would leave 0 star if I could. Economy is in a critical point where people think they can scam others for a buck. Disgusting! I will tell all my friends, family and relatives to ban this business. Lets start a first lesson of doing business ethically.
This used to be my favourite place for bánh mì and other snack. But recently they became sketchy. A few times already they miscalculated when I bought too much and overcharged. Please pay attention and check your stuff. Today yet again the cashier was very cranky and I only knew about the overcharge when I got home. Never return. P.S. after spending sometime to research about the reviews, I came to the conclusion that more than 50% of the positive reviews here are inauthentic. If you look at them carefully, almost right after a complaint, there are tons of positive rating. I guarantee the past will repeat. This is not a honest business practice.
Very good Vietnam sandwich, but only cash, they don t like you take picture
Lovely food but the staff was not friendly at all. May be they don t need to be but I think a smile will make some difference
One of the best budget friendly Vietnamese sandwiches I could find. Ive had the Honey Garlic and the lemongrass sausage. Highly recommended! You could expect a quick service and thats it.
Omg No. This banh mi is not good. My family is from Vietnam. Ive been to Vietnam and had man many banh mi and even make them at home. Bread was stale, meat was cheap. They barely added vegetables or peppers. Luckily it did have the sauce so it was edible but my wife and I was shocked since the reviews and history of the place. Shame on u guys....
Best $5 you can spend. Very quick and very good
Had the Tofu sandwich and veggie spring rolls. They were amazing. $5 for the large sandwich and $2 for the spring roll is such an amazing deal. Can t wait to come back again! Bring cash!
Great place to go for a quick and cheap meal. Cash only.
great cold cuts.
The go to banh-mi spot in the city for me. Great sandwiches, quick service, really affordable. On Aug 30, 2023 a small was $4 and large was $6
Kid-friendliness: Food and desserts fit well with even kid too. Most of the desserts there were my favourites when I was kid and still love now Food
This is the place. If you love your banh mi, do yourself a damn favour, dont go to that sparkly, fancy, modern looking banh mi shop your friend keeps telling you about, and save your money. The sandwiches are a bargain, this place is authentic, and serves up probably the best banh mi youve eaten in the last 13 months. Youre welcome.
I was waiting for the lady behind the counter to finish prepare for the customer in front of me. Then she was so rude and yelled at me for not ordering. Also she was mumbling something right after taking my order. Ill never be back to this place.
I always come here when Im in Toronto. Delicious Banh Mi and Vietnamese desserts, friendly staff.
Ordered a small cold cut sandwich. You can order small or large, spicy or not spicy. Really great flavor. The pâté and mayo on the sandwich is sooo good. Baguette is fresh too. If you take too long to decide what to order they will move on to the next customer which is totally understandable. They keep things moving.
You can t get a better meal deal anywhere else in Chinatown. Their banh mi sandwiches aren t fancy but they re fresh and filling. Same goes for the Vietnamese Spring rolls at 4 for $5 you can t complain!
an OG in the city delivers, flavour, portions and VALUE, something hard to find in the city nowadays. The Banh Mi, a decent size, for $5, unbeatable. Flavour hits the right notes and it leaves you satisfied. Nothing fancy, just a traditional banh mi. They have many others things in their menu, so looking forward to comeback to try more. We also tried the fresh spring rolls, wow, they were delicious, fresh and filling. The whole cost was $10, unbelievable price. Can t that value anywhere in the city. This place is CASH-ONLY, so mind that, BMO across the street.
Great lemon tofu bahnmi
Watch them make your sandwich and dont allow them to touch your sandwich after touching money. I saw a lady touching money from paying customers then went to make a sandwich without using gloves! Also dont buy their pre-made sandwiches. Always ask to make you a fresh one!
Good, fast, cheap and delicious
To me, these reviews are ultimately about value proposition. Were evaluating if the business delivers on what it pretends to be. There is no doubt in my mind that this humble Banh Mi spot in the center of Chinatown has one of the highest value proposition in the city. I mean, you can get a delicious and filling sandwich for 4$!!! I dont even think I could buy a bag of Sour Patch Kids at this price these days. Every single item in the shop is similarly priced, you almost feel bad for paying so little for all that food. I truly believe this is one of the hidden gems of Chinatown. It perfectly embodies what this neighbourhood is about, providing simple yet delicious food for people in the community. I really hope youll give it a try if you pass by it. For 4$, its hard to justify not to.
Have been going to the Spadina location everytime we visit Toronto and always had a great banh mi until today. I am so disappointed there was barely any pâté in and I went when there wasnt many people!
Good sandwiches and a wide variety food
One of the few $1-$10 eateries on Google maps in Toronto that is actually that. And the food is really good. I had the mixed veg banh mi and it was great! Vegetarian options: Mixed veg banh mi was great. I will try the lemongrass tofu banh mi next, Im sure that will also be great.
In Vietnam, I often ate banh mi on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, but the ones here didnt have any sauce and were very dry. I would recommend another store.
I tried BBQ Chicken Sandwich and paid 6$. I didnt like the sauce they put inside but Its good for the price.
Tasty - and one of the best spots for those who want good value for their money.
Got the #1 most popular one, so good quick easy $4 for yummy authentic banh mi.
For $4 ($5 for the large) their banh mi has the best bang for your buck! The place is cash-only, but there are plenty of ATMs in the area.
Best Banh Mi hands down! Our go to place here in Spadina!!!
My new favorite place in the city. Their banh mis cost from $4-6. Theyre not huge but theyre filling. Hard to find such a good deal in the city. They only take cash. Will be back to try other items.
Pork skin sandwich to die for
$5 for a beautiful and perfect banh mi is more than I can ask for in this economy
Great food!!
The sandwiches here are also quite delicious, with Vietnamese taste. Wrongly charged the customer, 2 cakes were not charged for 12$.
Probably one of the best banh-mi places in Toronto. Their lemongrass and honey garlic sausage banh-mi are to die for. The fact they continue to charge $5 for a banh-mi sandwich despite grocery conflation is beyond crazy. Totally recommend this place to everyone!!!
Ive been going here for years. Best banh mi in the city and its a great value even at $5 these days. Prepackaged meals cost a dollar less if you go near closing.
Super affordable Vietnamese takeout restaurant. The banh mi is absolutely delicious and super cheap at $5 per large banh mi. My go-to is the Lemongrass Tofu. I absolutely recommend this place for take out. Vegetarian options: Tofu banh mi is vegetarian.
Find me a better banh mi place anywhere in the city... Been coming here for many decades
