Cozy spot with a tiny menu of sandwiches, renowned for its slow-cooked beef brisket & pulled pork.
This hidden gem nestled just across the street from Rosedale station is an amazing spot to grab a quick bite. I've had two sandwiches there already, (Chicken Club & BBQ Brisket) and was tremendously satisfied both times. The sandwiches are the perfect size and quantity. I was full both times and am definitely going back here again to try another sandwich. The speed of preparation is so quick I barely have a chance to check my phone, and the staff are polite and friendly. If you're hungry and looking for a new spot to try, I would highly recommend this diamond in the rough.
Had this bookmarked for years. Finally got to try them out. Sandwhiches are so good. We absolutely devoured the beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. There's not much seating. About 2 small tables inside and couple outside on the patio. Takes about 10 minutes. We went on a Sunday of a long weekend and there wasn't much of a line up.
This is the worst sandwich I have ever had , brisket cold , onions cold , sandwich was sauced to a point where it’s just overtaking the whole experience , noticed something was off after my first bite and then realized this was under the packaging…. Staff told me to email the owner hahaha who the hell has time to do that already wasted 30 mins to drive back and fourth and now I’m gonna email them for what another free garbage sandwich ? My advice for Keep your hard earned money and dine elsewhere , as for the management u guys can keep the $17 dollars maybe invest it towards staff training .
Great little sandwich spot. Prompt service, friendly staff, fresh ingredients and tasty sauces. One of the best sandwich places in the city!
Follow @bredgyeats for yummy food pictures! I can't forget how many napkins I needed for this sandwich, the slow roasted beef brisket overflowing with juice as it soaks through the bun, and runs down your arm to your elbows, taking a large bite of tender, smoky and sweet beef brisket and following that up by slurping up all the liquid that oozed out.
These are amazing sandwiches, got the brisket with bbq sauce and caramelized onions and a steak sandwich. Both were amazing, the brisket was so tender and juicy. The steak was good too, but heads up, it's cold. Definitely not a bad thing, just a suprise. Grab yourself a butter tart while you're there, delish! I will be back no question.
Delicious beef brisket sandwiches at black camel, though the menu lacks vegetarian options and charges extra for basic toppings like tomato and pickles. The pricing appears high considering the portion sizes. However, with some adjustments such as including toppings in the sandwich price and revising the pricing structure, the overall dining experience could be significantly improved. beware that there's not much seating area/tables for dine-in.
Had a lovely experience here. Tried the brisket and the pulled pork. Both were good but my favorite was the brisket with bbq sauce. They have a fantastic bun with their sandwich. A nice selection of coffee items and a very cool vintage espresso machine. Good food at a descent price and portion size.
If you want a brisket sandwich in this city, just hop a subway to Rosedale station and eat this over every other option. I ve had this sandwich easily over 30 times and I drive out of my way to have it every time I m in the heart of the city. Food
Ordered a pulled chicken sandwich, and it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken tasted stale, lacked any seasoning, and was completely bland. Hands down, the worst sandwich I ve ever had. I can t fathom how this place has good reviews feels like they might be paid or fake. Avoid this place at all costs.
Edited: The last three times we came here we were underwhelmed with the food, unfortunately. Therefore, I have dropped my rating to a 3 from a 5 . The sandwiches used to be packed with veggies or meat, but not anymore. The veggie sandwich, now, has less veggies in it as it used to which now makes it an expensive sandwich to buy. 1 star less for the underwhelming food and 1 less for the price increase of the food items. Its, now, too expensive to eat here if the food isnt as good as it used to be and you get less than you used to. The food is amazing here. Hubby says its the best brisket he has ever had. I dont eat animal products so I stick to their veggie sandwich, which is amazing. Their buns are always fresh as are all the other products. The cremini mushrooms are always perfectly cooked and meaty as is the eggplant. I love that you can add chili onions for a very slight kick to any of their sandwiches. The BBQ sauce they use and the hummus are both delicious, as well. Also, good and efficient customer service. A must try, for sure! Vegetarian options: Greek fries
Good food, bit small for price but sandwich is great.
--- Ive been a loyal customer of Black camel for nearly 20 years, and it remains my absolute favorite spot in Toronto! The quality of the sandwiches is unmatched each bite is packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients that never disappoint. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere every visit. Consistency is key, and Black camel nails it every time. Whether youre a long-time patron or a first-time visitor, youre in for a treat. Truly deserving of its No. 1 spot! ---
Really enjoyed the beef brisket sandwich
Brisket was top notch. I would skip the chili though.
Fantastic sandwiches! Quick, convenient and tasty. What more could you want!
Dont use it as a Too good to go option. I only got hamburger buns in it. I wanted one dish rather than 16 hamburger buns. If it was a bakery, of course I would have been satisfied with a hamburger bun, but this is a restaurant, so I was disappointed. I dont know if you just want bread, but if youre expecting it to be real food like I did, youre disappointed. The restaurant food reviews are good, but I dont like the image of the restaurant because of this experience. I think this Too good to go service will get a bad reputation. I really feel like it, I want to throw the bread back and get a refund. I posted 4 left Food Too Good to Go today. Please~ Dont give them the leftover bread today, but give them food like a real food. Its a real waste of my time and money to pick me up, so Im still in the worst mood.
Unique sandwiches. Melt in your mouth meats. Been coming here for years. However, their coffee game has really gone downhill. Need to do better.
These sandwich buns have to be the best I ve had in a very long time. Perfect contrast between crusty and moist. No need to butter when you toast it. Stuff it with your favourite greasy slow cooked protein recipes. The buns magically bake up with room in the centre for more filling. Tada! Staff and store are buzzing with cheer too.
Just an absolute classic rosedale Toronto spot. This place deserves every reviews. If you re ever visiting Toronto and are in rosedale area, this is the go to lunch spot in my opinion. It s delicious, and right beside Ramsden park, a great park for walking dogs hanging out and maybe even running into the Toronto maple leafs William nylander.
I give this spot a 4.5. Brisket sandwich is solid. Could use a little more meat on each sandwich though.
Sandwiches are great
Used to be 4.5
Food was solid 2 sandwiches for 32 dollars roughly after tax. Not the best but certainly not the worst sandwich in Toronto
I worked with Eli to do a catering order and he was the most accommodating vendor I have worked with in Toronto. Not only is the food delicious and a crowd pleaser, but the high-quality of service is exceptional, and I couldn t recommend more!
Delicious lowkey sandwhich spot! Ordered the beef brisket with carmelized onion, so good, and pulled pork. Good sandwhiches if in the neighborhood!
Great sandwiches...! Though, they should stream line their pickup process as walk in lines can be long. Often times the person behind the counter is busy serving people and I just want to grab my yummy sandwich.
Been eating here consistently since I began working in the area 8+ years ago, multiple times a week. Don t sleep on the breakfast sandwich, it is top notch. They are a small space so it does require patience (as does all of Toronto) or order ahead if you prefer. Thanks!!
Every time I went there, it didnt disappoint me. It might have a new owner or management now but the food quality and flavor remain unchanged. Hidden gem in downtown. Parking can be challenging and only a couple of tables inside so takeout is strongly recommended.
It s a cute little spot however extremely disappointed. My boyfriend and I decided to try this spot. We spent just under $50 for 3 sandwiches. My boyfriend ordered the steak which said not hot, okay fine that was expected but not great, why not just warm it up and make it better? I ordered the pulled pork which also came cold, I was a little confused, why did I pay $14 for a cold pulled pork ? It was a total waste of money and a dinner spot. For a $14 sandwich it shouldn t be cold, especially pulled pork that should sit in a hot pot all day. The BLT was the best out of the 3 but overall not worth the price.
The beef brisket was very tasteful.
I tried this at the CNE. I ordered the brisket sandwich. The person taking orders didn t even know what the menu items tasted like or which sauces were good. The sandwich was cold like it just came out of the fridge. The brisket was bland and tasted like plain beef. Didn t have any fat rendering. The bbq sauce tasted like some generic bbq sauce from the grocery store but even the grocery store bbq sauce would have more flavour than the sauce in the sandwich. The sandwich really ruined a lot of my mood after that.
I wa at the CNE and ordered the chicken sandwich. It was tolerable, for the price I expected much better though so it wasn t good value. The toppings except the chicken were cold and I felt it was too much bread relative to toppings. Definitely not worth a $1 per topping. They only give you one topping free.
Used to love this place, but the sandwich prices have gotten totally insane. It was $8.95 for the brisket sandwich not that long ago and now its $11.45? Terrible value. Ive come here since 2009 and there for sure is way less meat and more bread in the sandwiches than there used to be. Update: Black Camel continues the gouging, it is now $13.75 for the brisket!! Upped the price $2.30 in like a year. Have these guys entered a partnership with Loblaws or something? haha
Got recommended this place by a friend and it surpassed my expectations. The brisket was amazing and the service was outstanding, I can t wait to come back! Edit: editing my review after months of continuous patronage. The price to quantity disparity is just too big for me. I always buy the brisket but it doesn t fill me up at all and im not a big eater - ill be full off a big mac meal at mcdonalds for comparison. I expect to be full after paying 15$ for a sandwich but last time i was looking for a second place to eat after finishing my brisket. Sorry, not acceptable and indicator of lack of respect for your customers.
Sandwiches are delicious, would recommend the pulled chicken!
Best sandys in Toronto!
The best sandwich in Toronto. As simple as pulled beef with chipotle sauce. Dont forget to add caramelized onion. So delicious!
Black Camel seems to have really declined over the years. Sandwich today was mid at best. Bun was cold, small serving of meat (has shrunk quite a bit from what it used to be), lacking flavour overall. Brisket was a little dry/overcooked so I can see why they drenched it in sauce. Staff was rude and clueless. Two of us approached the counter and said we were sharing a sandwich. We sit down on the patio and it s not cut in half, so we ask them to cut it. They refused because it had left the kitchen and refused to let us use a knife. They said we should have asked before - I guess they couldn t put two and two together when we said we were sharing
Brisket was amazing.
it s okay
I had to reduce my rating. First time having a pulled chicken sandwich, it was mostly just salty. Prob would be better if I had added toppings, but they were all $1 each, and tomato was not one of the options. The grilled veggie sandwich I had in the previous visit was delicious though!
Great burger and pull meat sandwich
It wasnt bad or good just OK, but it was expensive for the portions
Got brisket steak and chicken sandwiches. The meat was great, and the sauce was good but would definitely have been around a 4.5 had the bread been toasted and not cold
Excellent sandwiches..mmmm The butter tarts amazing Food : 5/5
Found their stand at the CNE. Best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had, period. The flavour and quality of their ingredients is unmatched. Worth every penny.
Got the brisket sandwich with bbq sauce and mushrooms, was delicious.
Amazing moist banana bread!
Took a staff recommendation for a sandwich and I couldnt get past two bites :(
Great sandwich, a bit too saucy.
Best sandwich in Canada IMO!
Bro Don t think just go Beef brisket sandwich with bbq and Dijon Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp, 2 sharp steps - no visible way to notify anyone that you would like to order from the door.
Very quick service with delicious sandwiches
Quick service and friendly staff. Got the slow roasted sandwich.
Absolutely amazing sandwich. The shop is better to take away from
Decent sandwiches. Ramsden has some nice areas to eat in the park
This is constantly ranked one of the best if not the best sandwich in Toronto. It s for a reason. Yes the sandwiches are on the pricy side and are a bit smaller. But the taste is amazing. This is the first time visiting it. We got the brisket and the steak sandwich. The brisket sandwich is one of the best around. We would define it add some texture to it as the whole sandwich was on the soft side. The bbq sauce was nice but we didn t notice much taste from the charamoula sauce. The seared steak was fine but we didn t get much sear. I would try something else next time. It s a nice place to check out and we will be back.
The best brisket and pork sandwiches I know of in Toronto. With your choice of toppings!
I went there for the first time, and it will likely be my last. The sandwich was okay, but the service was awful. It was on Saturday, and the lady taking orders urgently needs a customer service course. She wouldnt allow us to use chairs, claiming they were for outdoor use, even though there werent enough chairs inside. The worst part? We were already seated when she told us to stand up. The food isnt good enough to make up for the poor service. If I could give zero stars, I would.
My partner has the brisket sandwich and loved it!!! The butter tart was insanely delicious. Coffee is great, too, at a super reasonable price.
Savory and rich flavor Recommend black camel bbq sauce Food
Fast, fresh, and DELICIOUS. The storefront was clean and the staff made excellent recommendations. The portions are extremely generous for the price.
Parking: Great sandwiches been going for years cant go wrong with anything on the menu Food
So good. This place is legit and has been around for quite some time. Not the largest menu, but what they do, they do very very well. Highly recommend.
Always love it! Great good
Small shop, not much indoor seating. Ive tried the beef brisket sandwich (with bbq sauce and mushrooms) it was amazing! The prices are a bit high but the food is really good. Definitely worth it if youre in the area. Food
I LIKE
The sandwiches are tiny and over priced but they do taste good. the chilli has an aftertaste which wasnt very nice.
Black Camel is the best sandwich shop in Rosedale and one of the best in the city. The fact that its thrived (let alone survived) on Yonge Street for 20 years now is a testament to its enduring quality. Same with the paucity of options on the menu. They do sell chili and some sides and desserts, but the main attraction is the sandwiches. There are seven in total: beef brisket, pulled pork, steak, pulled chicken, fancy BLT, BLT + chicken, and roasted vegetables. Ive tried about half the menu at this point, not because any of the options are unappealing to me (they all seem delicious), but because I find it difficult to stray from my favourites. My two favourites happen to be the pulled chicken and the roasted veggie. For the purpose of this review I ordered a roasted veggie sandwich, so Ill give a detailed review of that item. The sandwich is substantial, with a very large bun and ample ingredients. The bun is so large, in fact, that the sandwich can be a bit bready if you dont add additional sauces and toppings (youre entitled to two sauces - everything beyond that costs extra). The buns are delicious and personally I like a bready sandwich so its part of the attraction from my perspective, but I appreciate that its not for everyone. The contents of the roasted veggie sandwich consist of three toppings you can also add to the meat sandwiches: sun dried/roasted tomato, roasted eggplant, and arugula. The tomato is amazing, it brings a perfect umami flavour given the absence of meat. The eggplant is roasted to perfection and gives some substance to each bite (again, compensating well for the lack of meat). Finally, arugula is a perfect complement to the flavours from the tomato and eggplant - no surprises there, given that you can commonly find this trio together in salads. For this sandwich I chose the hummus and horseradish as my sauces. To be honest, I felt like their flavours got lost in the sandwich - next time I would opt for a bolder flavour, like Dijon mustard or their house BBQ sauce. A few considerations worth mentioning. First, seating is somewhat limited both inside and at their tables outside when weather permits. If its a nice day theres a lovely park basically next door, but otherwise Id suggest taking it to go. Also, there always seems to be a line of people waiting for food so Id suggest calling your order in ahead - I walked past probably 10 people waiting for sandwiches when I picked mine up today. One last thing: the staff have been friendly and polite whenever Ive visited, which I always appreciate. Overall, Black Camel serves one of the best sandwiches in Toronto and is worth going out of your way to try (and conveniently, its located next door to Rosedale Subway Station!)
Best sandwich in town
Favourite beef brisket sandwich in Toronto
This is such a fantastic place! They have been able to keep their quality for years now. The beef brisket sandwich is phenomenal (they have a fantastic barbeque sauce to go with it. Highly reccomended). The roasted veggies sandwich with pesto mayo is so good, and the pulled chicken with pesto mayo as well! Love this place so much!
Nothing like a filling sandwich for lunch. Very good food nd service here..its a must try
This outfit is total class and great sandwiches. Ordered the catering for an office presentation and everyone loved the brisket and pulled pork. Eli is a pleasure to deal with and Reza had the food delivered on time ! (Early in fact). Great option for lunch or an office catering.
I liked pulled pork, did not like chicken. Besides both items being way overpriced, chicken is definitely not worth a fraction of it. I dont understand why they serve them cold, you add cheese, it doesnt melt, sauces cold, extra toppings cold. I came there for third time, went for pulled pork with cheese, mushrooms and few sauces. And only slightly warm meat makes it edible. Dont understand why its a 15 dollar humble sized cold sandwich. Although I appreciate the nice ingredients, taste of pork and sauces are nice too.
The vegetarian sandwich is delicious
brisket sandwich is recommended
Incredible pulled pork sando great mayos and toppings
Delicious BBQ Sandwich
i ve been with a lot of women in the late night. i will get a black camel sandwich over making sweet love 10/10 times. best sandwich in the city #sixside
these are good sandys dude, got the pulled pork and the girl recommended some solid sauces, you cant go wrong
Service was fast and friendly. Tried out the brisket and pulled chicken sandwiches. They are a good size. Flavors were very good. Chili was OK but prefer it much more spicy.
banging sandwiches, pricey
This place is a real gem in the city. The beef brisket sandwich is like a hug from the inside. Really well done and consistent!
Loved their pulled pork sandwich with caramelized onions and coleslaw. Make sure you also choose their special bbq sauce. Chefs kiss! Will have to try their other sandwiches now.
Great sandwich. I highly recommend you try this place . More of a grab and go place but you wont regret it. Food
Always amazing food & service!!
Decent sandwich but overpriced. You have to pay for each individual topping.
Delicious beef brisket sandwiches, I always add the chipotle and charamula mayos, or pesto and their home made BBQ sauces. Lots of additional add ons like mushrooms, arugula and roasted red peppers. They have great breakfast sandwiches as well. Lovely little gem in Toronto!
Exceptional!
The beef brisket is super nice. The chili also super nice.
So disappointed. The chicken sandwich is really bad and the brisket is very basic.
Too normal , nothing special. Got the pulled chicken sandwich comes with sun-dried tomato, arugula i guess , and sauce ! The chicken was too dry ! Not bad 6/10 for me
I got the brisket sandwich and it was amazing! They give you sooo much meat! Can t wait to try the rest of their menu!
I ve been there twice now and the food is amazinggg!! Their beef pulled brisket has so much flavour and the chicken pulled sandwich was so juicy! Heaven!! Must try! It s a small space but the food is amazing! Try their camel sauce so good!! Recommended dishes
I m so happy to have found this place. An incentive for me to cycle to that neighbourhood and grab the delicious, reasonably priced sandwiches. Note that this is mostly a takeout place. They have 2 tables inside of the shop. Parking: There is a Green p lot a block away from this place.
The Black Camel $ 10/10 Meaty, hearty, and fulfilling sandwich spot that s kind of a low key from what I can tell I got the slow roasted beef brisket sandwich with onions and their in house BBQ sauce which was AMAZING So simple yet savoury, sweet, and tender wrapped in a beautiful bun the amount of customization you can do to your sandwich is incredible and the fact that their menu is small means that they know what they do best Slow Roasted Beef Brisket Sandwich
Solid sandwich spot. I got the beef brisket sandwich and my friend got the roasted chicken sandwich, both tasted great! I remember coming here in 2012 and liked their sandwiches, it s nice to see nothing changed
Great sandwiches
Consistently good sandwiches. The blt is very good though not a typical rendition.
Sandwiches are great! But pass on the chili.
Good sandwich!
Decent Beef Sandwich. Could ve been better, but overall I enjoyed it.
Favourite sandwich place in the rosedale area by far!
Been here three times, once for a catered lunch, and twice for just myself (brisket sandwich both times, with different toppings) . Unreal. Staff is helpful and friendly. Arguably the two best sandwiches I ve ever had.
Brisket is great.
One of my go to sandwich spots in the city. The camel club is my got to whenever I m their.
Chicken BLT was dry cold and with sparse garnishing. The chicken tasted cold and old, arugula was clearly unwashed, they threw in a few tomatoes and 1 piece of not crispy bacon... Couldnt even taste the pesto mayo there was so little of it.. A complete waste of $15 that left me hangry
Love Black Camel. Not to be overlooked, their sensational buns
One of the best sandwich shops in the city. Had the Camel Club today. Worth a quick subway trip, and great to enjoy in Ramsden park across the street.
great sandwich, it s was extremely delicious and lives up to the hype! The bread was great, decent portions, savoury meat! definitely recommend to visit, it s got some nice patio area outside now that the weather is great. Very close to the subway station!
I ve spent over $1000 here. They were always kind of weird with me as a person of colour. One day the short japanese girl decides to not want to serve me. As a person of colour, I am never giving this business my money ever again. They don t welcome black people here, so I recommend eating somewhere else.
Very tasteful sandwiches for a great price value
Every popular place, 10 minute line to order but got the food pretty quickly. Cute little patio out front to sit and eat/ wait. We tried the pulled pork and beef brisket. Both solid sandwiches, very flavourful. Will be back to try others very soon.
Great sandwich. Was outstanding
This is a staple spot in Rosedale. I was introduced to Black Camel through my boss. She gave me a piece of her roasted veggie sandwich and I ve been hooked for 3 years now. Definitely get it with the pesto mayo sauce.
One of the best sandwiches places in Toronto! A little bit expensive but totally worth it.
You are the One of a kind!!
I get a pulled pork sandwich every Saturday and it hits every time. Best sandwich in the city, no
I only ever get takeout here, but so far I ve tried the brisket and the steak both sandwiches were excellent. I highly recommend the brisket!
Definitely converted me into a sandwich lover! Service is speedy and friendly. Location is easy to get to. Price is extremely extremely extremely reasonable!
The brisket sandwich was simple yet delicious. The bun are soft and chewy. Was curious to know what kind of buns they were. The kitchen had my meal out faster than a drive-through.
Tried their breakfast sandwich recently and it was delicious and reasonably priced!! The service is wonderful the person taking orders really makes an effort to remember your name! Will definitely be a regular here Parking: There s no parking but duh it s downtown Toronto
come for the espresso, stay for the beef brisket
Awesome food. They do no advertising and its all word of mouth. There is a Tiny patio for eating outside. This place has been around for at least 10 years. It is constantly busy, but the wait wasnt bad, and the staff is Friendly. Inside its a utilitarian vibe. Now, back to the food. I think any foodies would love the sandwiches. In all my reviews, this is a top spot. Vegetarian options: Great roasted veggie sandwich. I didnt ask if its cooked on a separate area that has no meat so that remains a question.
A cute little place by Rosedale station. It has 4 seats and 2 tables, so be prepared to get a takeout. No washroom in sight. A good menue that is accommodating to almost everyone. I got decent service when I visited but since I only went once, I can t exactly vouch for the service. I took their recommendation and got veggie roasted sandwich with pesto mayo and it was about $11. A little over priced but that s midtown/downtown for you. The veggies tasted fresh and the bun was nice and chewy, although not toasted. They could have added a little more sauce to it. Overall, a good place to grab a filling on the go lunch. Vegetarian options: There s a single roasted veggie sandwich.

If youre here for the atmosphere, youve come to the wrong place. If youre here for the best dang sandwich you might have ever had, then well done. Its just a classic. Cant go wrong with anything you pick.
Sandwiches are great, good price. Brisket is the most flavourful and the club is my go to for tons of chicken and arugula. Lots of add ons and sauces to customize which is great, but lacks a true hot sauce option. Wish there s like free toppings for some of the sandwiches that don t have much toppings beyond the meats.
I absolutely love their sandwiches, and my absolute favorite has to be their mouthwatering roast beef sandwich with its delectable BBQ sauce. The combination of tender, succulent roast beef layered with the perfect balance of tangy and savory BBQ sauce creates a taste sensation that is simply irresistible. Each bite is a symphony of flavors that leaves me craving more. Not only are their sandwiches incredibly tasty, but the quality of ingredients and attention to detail truly sets them apart. The roast beef is expertly cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a hint of smoky flavor that pairs perfectly with the bold, rich BBQ sauce. The bread they use is always fresh and just the right amount of softness, providing the perfect vessel to hold all the delicious ingredients together. If youre looking for something special and unique to tantalize your taste buds, I highly recommend trying their sandwiches.
Mother said, if you cant say something nice, say nothing at all.
This place is just down the street from me so I go there when I m too busy to cook or get a bad delivery and it never fails to deliver. Reliably amazing every time. Best sandwiches I ve ever had you can t go wrong. I suggest getting their advice and following it with regards to additions and toppings.
Truly a Toronto gem
Go-to spot for delicious sandwiches
What a great hidden gem. Go there, get a sandwich and then get one to go. Seriously. It is delicious
This is by-far the BEST reason to go to Toronto for lunch!! Hands-down the best brisket I have ever had. Even the pulled pork kicks butt. They have 7 sauces to chose from and happen to make the beast latte at a non franchised place. There is not big sign with a name. You look for the camel on the door and you have arrived. Its clean and fresh in there. Menards been what a month since Ive been there and I just came back with my girlfriend and it was amazing !! They even had a bucket of water for the dog!
Amazing, coming back for sure. Chicken sandwich was so good.
Good sandwiches
Arguably the best sandwich in the city.
10 years ago the carnivore food was excellent Im sure it still is, but be advised if youre a vegetarian who is sensitive to nightshades there is literally nothing for you here except muffins and chips Vegetarian options: muffins coffee toppings only sandwich of peppers and mushrooms
This sandwich saved my life after a long drive back into the city. The roasted vegetable sandwich is an excellent vegetarian option (not an afterthought). The bun was delicious, must be homemade. Servers were helpful with suggestions and the food came out so fast. No complaints!
Great and cheap
The best sandwiches, I have been coming back ever since
I love coming here for lunch. Make sure you bring your punch card to get your free sandwich after all your visits. The staff are quick and efficient. Ive never waited more than maybe 5-10 minutes for a sandwich and thats at peak lunch time. At this point Ive tried the pulled pork, pulled chicken and the seared steak (cold) my favourite being the chicken. The options for sauces and toppings is so extensive that youll want to keep coming back to try the different combinations. The pork is flavourful but naturally saucy so make sure you dont wear white that day. The chicken is juicy and holds the sauces you order nicely. The seared steak if good but a little heavy at the end, Id recommend maybe eating half with a salad and finishing the rest off later or youll be sleeping at your desk after lunch. Seating is limited so I mostly order to go. In nice weather you can sit across the street in the park. Just watch out because some wasps might want to join you. Theres some seating in front of the restaurant as well but maybe 3 tables of 2 at most. So maybe come prepared to eat somewhere else if youre not coming for lunch from work you can get back to. I have yet to try the coffee or other treats but Ill update my post if I do.
Brisket sandwich was amazing! Generous with the meat, sauce, and other fillings. Eat it right away as the sauce might drip from the sandwich the longer its sitting there. Service is slow for ordering/payment so be prepared to wait but the wait for the order is reasonable considering the number of patrons. There are limited seats inside and outside. Good thing there is a park nearby. Will return to try their other sandwiches. Highly recommend!
Dont go or you would enjoy the beef here. It is a amazing sandwich place. Hands down, no question will come again.
Great sandwiches; make your own from the options style, but not at a chain level. Artisan. Delicious. Youve eaten it before you realize! Very little space at the venue to eat though, so its mostly a gram and go place, but theres a park across the street, so you can plan ahead in the warm months and eat there instead!
Great fast food restuarant try to eat there once every time we visit Toronto. Friendly staff, good prices and excellent sandwiches.
One of the best brisket sandwiches I have ever had. Highly recommend, you will not regret.
Dietary restrictions: Theres a vegetarian item in their menu Food
Brisket sandwich with the bbq sauce was the best out of the 3 I tried (pork and club). Pork was a little dry and the club didn t have too much flavour even with their house mayo.
Good food, good service
I tried beef brisket with BBQ and Hummus toppings. Although I didnt taste the hummus, bbq was great. There is lots of meat inside the sandwich for 12$. Sandwich tastes great and the meat is tasty and juicy. Food
Great, affordable sandwiches.
Great spot to grab a sandwich. Can eat in, on the patio or across the street at the park. Its simple but well executed in the most perfect way. Always worth a stop when in the area or bring friends from out of town. Havent been here since I moved back and glad I got to hit it up today.
The people are pleasant and the beef brisket sandwich is perfection! Beef brisket sandwich with bbq sauce, chipotle mayo, roasted red peppers and fontina cheese, everytime! I always love coming here!
Awful attitude, very rude women I suspect the owner! Was in there with my 2lbs puppy to buy a sandwich and she kicked us out, she was in her bag and I was holding her!!! She literally asked us to leave because no DOG are allowed inside! I don t think she cares for reviews bc sandwiches are pretty cheap but never buy anything from someone with that awful attitude
Best hot sandwiches around!
Wonderful food and quick service every time!
Its a take out spot, but its clean, so the atmosphere gets a 5 star as well :) Always yummy sandwiches and a very homemade style chilli, which I usually get and love Food
If you want comfort food, this is your place !
Amazing sandwiches that have been consistently great since I ve started coming here. Get the beef brisket with horseradish and the toppings!
I couldn t believe how delicious my sandwich was . So lucky to work close by . Will definitely will come back and grab lunches !!!
Brisket sandwich was top tier. Though I wish the sandwich had more brisket.
My boyfriend loves Black Camel so decided to pick up lunch for both of us. I found the portions small, on the pricey side and the bread was kind of tough. I wanted to love the sandwiches but I honestly found them kind of meh (my boyfriend, however, is still a huge fan so you should probably take a trip and make the call yourself!) Personally I don t think I d come back again but this place has been a staple in the area for awhile and I m sure there s a good reason!
Ive tried three of their sandwiches and all of them were delicious.
The egg and pancetta breakfast sandwich is insanely good!!!
Great place
Not the greatest sandwich, overrated. A bit over priced for what you get.
It s a unique street style experience. We got the slow cooked brisket and it was so tasty. Loved the neighborhood, and the food preparation was impressively fast.
Nice salmon egg breakfast sandwich.
Had the brisket sandwich with house bbq sauce so my review is based on that. I expected it to be really good based on reviews and social media but it s really just average. The brisket isn t smoked but either stewed or roasted, and tastes like a lower grade of beef was used. If you have had a real brisket sandwich before you will be disappointed.
Love their beef brisket!
I got the beef brisket and it was delicious! Great service and food.
The burger tastes okay but honestly I think the sauce is a bit too sweet.
Love the customer service and love the veggie sandwich
Pretty pricy, but damn are the sandwiches good! I had the chicken and the beef brisket sandwiches and theyre amazing with any sauce. I highly recommend the chicken with charamoula mayo though!
It s order and go, very efficient service and food is great
