Market, 95 Front St E, Toronto, ON M5E 1M6, Canada
Uno Mustachio is located within the historic St. Lawrence Market on the lower level since 1987. We continue to offer the same great tasting Italian Sandwich and pasta recipes used from way back then, which has made us a staple in the the city of Toronto.
Based on St Lawrence Market. Always seemed busy so thought I'd give it a try. Went for the Grandfather Veal parmigiana and eggplant sandwich. Pretty tasty. Flavors mixed well. Right amount of tasty sauce. Was not too messy to eat. Was expecting some punchier flavor. Will get the jalapenos added, which was offered but I opted not to have. Regret.
Got veal parm classic sandwich. The sandwich was warm, marinara sauce and veal parm combination were good. But I'm not sure if I want to come back or not. The staff who has long coloured nails made sandwiches with barehands :( Wish they wore gloves though.
The place is in a corner, with few chairs to sit. The pasta with meatballs was great! The sandwich was not really as good as I expected. The eggplant is breaded, as well as the chicken, between two walls of bread. A bit too much bread for me. Marinara sauce got lost right away in all that breadness. Roasted peppers were really good.
Their sandwich and pasta are incredible! We had godfather veal and meatball spaghetti, and they just made our day. 💚👍 Also they were very kind and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
Just had the most incredible hot Italian sandwich, and the chicken parm was perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a crispy golden crust that held up beautifully under a rich, flavorful marinara sauce. The melted mozzarella was just the right amount of gooey, blending everything together into a deliciously satisfying bite. The bread was fresh and slightly toasted, adding the perfect crunch to every mouthful. This sandwich truly hit the spot—comfort food at its finest. If you’re a fan of chicken parm, this is a must-try!
I ordered the veal godfather. It's beef. This sandwich is very big! It's full of tomato sauce, it tastes like pasta haha, and fried eggplant, it's very special. Recommended to try.
The godfather veal sandwich does not disappoint. Haven’t had one this good since my nonna’s. Truest Italian sandwich ever and good value for the price.
Uno Mustachio has been keeping Italian food real since at least the late 1990s when I first discovered it (apparently it was established in 1984). This is one of two absolute go-to places in Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market (the other being “St. Lawrence Pizza & Pasta”.) Uno Mustachio delivers the authentic Italian eggplant, chicken and veal parmigiana sandwich experience. Back in the day, these were the sandwiches which I would bring home after work to my father’s approval… and it had to be good to get his approval. (He generally didn’t like outside prepared food… very old-country) 🙂 Going back to Uno Mustachio last week brought all the goodness back: a chicken parmigiana sandwich with a Sanpellegrino limonata - che bella cosa è.
The Godfather sandwich was delicious! Massive!
Been coming here for 16 years, easily the best chicken parm sandwich in the city
Go to California sandwiches at Don Mills and York Mills Their sandwich is better (bigger, more meat, and cheaper) While the sandwich isnt great, their pasta is good Sandwich is 3/5 Pasta is 5/5 Averages out to 4/4
The best there is! Our first stop whenever we visit here
What happened to this place? It used to be sooooo good. Now it s $20 for eggplant parm that s dry and chewy, not nearly as many slices as before, two mushrooms two peppers and no sauce. So dry and chewy. I m so sad, maybe they were having an off day, but I was really looking forward to this sandwich and it was awful this time.
OMG I had the fully loaded veal on a bun and it was a piece of heaven right there! Its huge, hearty and oh, so FULL of incredible flavours. I had no idea this place existed but now Im telling ALL my Toronto friends. Absolutely divine!! And the staff are great, funny, helpful and friendly. 10/10 hands down!
Very friendly staff. Quick and efficient. Can get really busy around lunch time. Sandwich was excellent and huge!!
What an awesome place, had the steak and cheese godfather sandwich. You better be hungry as this is a meal. The service is fast pace, so dont delay the line, the steak was cooked perfectly. We knew how big it was and we split it between the two of us. We were just right. Or dont split and eat all day. Either way, good deal.
Amazing sandwiches, had their New York steak sandwich. Never had anything like it!
We ordered classic chicken parmigiana, it was so dry. And we even asked for an extra sauce, that chicken is so dry and chewy. Not as we expected, so disappointed and hyped up place. Never to repeat on this place!!! Food
Its a cool spot to visit in St Lawrence Market. Excellent veal sandwiches. A little light with the fillings for the price and caliber of restaurant.
Love this food shop, everything s good.
Vegetarian options: Their eggplant sandwich is the best sandwich I ve ever had. Ever! I ve had it with all the different toppings, and now with their new pesto sauce.. and it seems no matter which I choose, or all.. every time it wins, and seems the best ever all over again. Wow. Thank you all!
I have only ordered from here through UberEats and these guys dont disappoint. The veal godfather is a must try and its part of my weekly lunch !
I travel ,once I a while, 1 hour on public transit to get their eggplant sandwich... It is very good. Food
An amazing veal sandwich for a realistic price! So good every single time!
I tried the Godfather Veal Parmigiana sandwich. The Kaiser bun, veal, roasted eggplant, peppers and cheese were hot and fresh. It s very tasty and good for sharing.
Had the godfather veal sandwich and a brio. A perfect snack for two, combining flavours and textures into an overall delight of a sandwich. Would go again
the godfather meatball cheese w eggplant >>> $18 for a HUGE sandwich! enough for 2 girls Food : 5/5
the best pasta spot ever. Stuff is very responsive and kind. Food just like by the mother s home.
If you don t get their chicken parm sandwich then you re simply missing out on the best this neighbourhood has to offer. Grab an iced cold Brio too and live your best life on a park bench
In the st. Lawrence market best meatball sandwich I have had in a long time! Just made right the toronto way on a kaiser. I has extra sauce the godfather meatball with eggplant! Yum!
Service is good. But the food is a little rated. People speak about this place of having amazing veal / chicken but its mid. The bread isnt anything special and its a bit over priced. But the proportion is good. Big sandwich. Was just expecting something spectacular. Amazing service though
Been coming here for 20 years +. They must of changed owners or did something recently. I got a sandwich and it is not the same. Smaller portion. Less flavor. No onions? Kind of unfriendly service when I asked why there arent any onions? Not sure if I will come back here.
Asked for a veal sandwich with extra sauce to which she said ok and then did not put extra sauce. The sauce was bland and the veal was tough. Would not recommend.
The sauce and eggplant were really flavourful. On the other hand the chicken and bread was a bit lack lustre. Overall tasty sandwich but a bit pricey at $18 for a chicken with eggplant sandwich.
Great Veal sandwich. I havent tried one like that in a long time.
Excellent sandwiches and the service was impeccable. Thanks for a great lunch!
Greatest!
We got the godfather veal eggplant parmigiana and I felt that we should have just done the eggplant without the veal
MUST TRY!! We ordered the GODFATHER VEAL PARMIGIANA WITH EGGPLANT. It was really good. Its very filling that you can just split one with your partner. highly recommended!
Mustachios classic steak sandwich is my favorite quick lunch, bar none. Theyre so good 5/5 doesnt do them justice. Vegetarian options: The eggplant sandwiches and vegetarian pastas are great too.
I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana Nonnas Favourite, which comes with four slices of eggplant served on a fresh Italian kaiser roll with tomato sauce, parmesan, mozzarella cheese, and your choice of toppings. I added roasted red peppers, sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, and roasted jalapeño peppers, and it was divine. The sauce and toppings soaked into the bread, creating a truly perfect sandwich. Its also huge I can never finish it in one sitting. Every time I visit St. Lawrence Market, I always make a stop at Uno Mustachio. Its a must-try!
Tried the classic chicken and veal sandwiches and both were great. Well worth the price and good portions too. Got there around 5:30pm and most of their sandwiches were sold out by then and couldn t try any of the Godfather sandwiches, so definitely come for lunch if sandwiches are what you are looking for.
I ordered the Godfather sandwich and the portion size is generous. They include tomato sauce in every layer, but I found the sauce a bit lacking in flavor. However, the staff are great and very friendly.
Got a spicy rose ravioli and chicken + eggplant sandwich, and it was amazing. Very delicious. I can taste fresh ingredients. Healthy portion too. Would recommend
Very good sandwiches and friendly service
My wife and I stumbled upon Uno Mustachio during a stroll through the market, and it turned out to be a delightful culinary adventure. She opted for the pasta with meatballs, while I indulged in the veal sandwich, and both choices left us thoroughly satisfied. The pasta was a standout, with a rich tomato sauce and perfectly cooked meatballs. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the portions were more than generous. As for the veal sandwich, it was a symphony of flavors the tender veal cutlet paired harmoniously with the cheese and vegetables, creating a truly delectable experience. What truly impressed us was the unexpected extra item in our order. Despite our intention to return it and pay for it, the owner, whose name we regrettably didn t catch, insisted on it being a gift. Such kindness and generosity only added to our positive experience. We enjoyed our meal on the terrace, soaking in the ambiance of the market. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere makes Uno Mustachio a must-visit destination. Highly recommended for anyone craving a delicious dining experience.
One of the smallest sandwiches Ive ever had. You can order the extra eggplant and sauce, theyre not too far away If you come to Toronto, by law you must stop by here for breakfast.
Food quality is very average. I had better parmigiana variations in city of Vaughan. I think some pickles should be added into the sandwiches and some good Italian sauce.
Service was awesome, staff amazing and food is so Gooood! I recommend trying it. Its unique.
Food: First time eating here again since pre-covid. Had the classic veal parm (parmigiana), and it doesnt get old! If you dont want to think about what to eat, just say one veal parm with everything (toppings) on it, please! You dont need to have this with a slice of mozzarella cheese because its already good by itself. Service: So just a word of warning, after they ask you what toppings, theyll catch you off-guard (while youre in a state of vulnerability eyeing what you could still have in the menu) with do you want a mozzarella cheese with it? SAY NO! Atmosphere: Fortunately, there was an available seat just by the aisle, and it was nice to enjoy my fresh sandwich with a nice hot fresh cup of black drip coffee (from Everyday Gourmet, just around the croner), taking my time. Also, as a proud Torontonian, in a way I was showing off what I was eating to most of the out-of-towners passing by, and I was glad to accommodate a tourist who asked me what I was having.
Unfortunately the food quality has decreased over time, staff do not follow public health; beard, hair not covered, no gloves. Having said that the price has increased and the sandwich is less generous. I used to be regular customer but wont be going back.
Amazing customer service with even better tasting food. Personally my favourite chicken and/or veal parm sandwiches in the city. Sandwiches are not to heavy and not full of grease, they don t leave you feeling sluggish after but also very filling. My go to spot when inside the St Lawrence Market.
Amazing reliable takeout spot for veal sandwiches. Their attention to detail in preparation shines through even in a to-go setting. For those seeking a convenient yet delicious meal, Uno Mustachio is a solid choice.
I don t frequent the St. Lawrence market often, but when I do, I definitely stop by for a sandwich. The staff are knowledgeable - obviously, being around for many, many years - and know how to make a mean sandwich.
Uno Mustachio has the best chicken and veal sandwiches in the city. Hands down. As you take that first bite, the harmony of flavors dances on your palate, a testament to the artistry behind their renowned sandwiches and overall menu. Uno Mustachio doesnt just serve food; they deliver a symphony of tastes that lingers in your memory. This is a destination for those seeking not just a meal, but an unforgettable experience. In the heart of St. Lawrence Market, it stands as a testament to the citys rich culinary diversity and a must-visit for anyone craving the best veal sandwich experience. A must try !!!
I ve been coming to union mustachio for as long as I can remember, the great food and fast friendly service will have me coming back for years still! I especially enjoy their chicken godfather sandwich! Make sure to get it spicy!!! Recommended dishes
UPDATE JANUARY 24, 2024 I am writing to provide an update following my initial review dated January 14, 2024. My experience today at Uno Mustachio has unfortunately led to significant concern. During my attempt to address the issue of finding a piece of metal in my sandwich, I encountered a staff member in a manner that left me feeling extremely unsettled. My request for a refund, due to my previous review, was denied, and the staff member followed me to another stall, where our conversation escalated quickly and became confrontational. I felt intimidated by the staff members approach and language, a stark contrast to the customer service Ive previously known at St. Lawrence Market. This incident has been reported to the appropriate authorities. Sharing this update is important to me for the sake of transparency and helping patrons make informed decisions. My aim is not to discourage, but to offer a candid account of my recent experiences, with the hope that it leads to improvements in customer interactions at Uno Mustachio. I would like to express my gratitude to the markets security team for their professionalism during this situation. I look forward to a resolution and hope to continue experiencing the positive atmosphere that St. Lawrence Market is known for. ------------------------------ METAL WIRE IN FOOD. I purchased a Godfather Veal Parmigiana on January 14th, 3:39pm. After finishing about 4/5th of the sandwich, I find something hard in my food, I pull it out and find this metal wire. I dont know if there were anymore pieces that I missed. Super dangerous. Ive sent a report to Toronto Public Health.
Yum yum yum - better than Nonna s!
Been going to this restaurant for years. Absolutely love it. Just had catering done for my crew and everyone was loving the sandwich. Truly one of the best.
Great eggplant sandwiches. My kid loves the penne!
found metal in one of the sandwiches and then witnessed an assault by the manager to another customer.
Rude customer service!!! If an issue arises with the order because they did not follow proper safety standards, Warning: the staff can get aggressive and may attack!
Soooo, yeah. This place is getting brigaded by Reddit at the moment cause an angry customer who didnt get a refund he wasnt offered posted his thesis on how some sandwich shop was going to hunt him down and kill him for it. IDK anything about that mafia fantasy stuff... But as someone whos actually bought sandwiches here I will say theyre big enough to be like 1.5 meals and taste great.
Some idiot on Reddit is trying to get this establishment 1 star bombed. Sandwiches at this establishment are great. Posting to support. Food : 5/5
Best sandwiches
Their veal sandwich is amazing. My goto whenever I drop by the St Lawrence market.
Their chicken eggplant is my favourite sandwich in the city and Unos is always an essential detour whenever Im in the area!
Wish I could give them 6 s everything was incredible.
Top notch veal sandwich. Will definitely be going back.
Highly recommend - the Godfather Sandwich here is the best! Everything is clean and the food is made fresh every day. The only con I can think of it s the portion sizes, honestly you get too much for the price lol! The staff is amazing, they give such a positive vibe and energy! Good job Uno Mustachio, keep it up! Vegetarian options: They offer eggplant sandwitch if you re looking for veg options
Authentic and delicious. A taste of Italy so close to home. Always a treat to visit.
Still the best Italian sandwiches around. Have been going here for 25+ years.
i haven t had a single item here that hasn t blown me out of the water
The sandwiches are huge and value for money! Go only when youre ravenous otherwise you wont be able to finish it. No place to sit and eat though. Also be prepared to stand in line as the place is always crowded. A must visit!
Amazing sandwiches
Such good sandwiches and such a good deal! I always get the chicken parm sandwich with jalapeños and its one of the best in the city
Always stop by for a morning sando. Friendliest staff and the best veal sandwiches!
My favorite spec is to do a little less sauce, double eggplant and it always hits the spot.
Best sandwiches Good-sized portions Environmentally-friendly packaging Vegetarian options: Eggplant sandwich is a good option for those who don t want to eat meats Dietary restrictions: Will customize to your dietary restrictions
Amazing experience and friendly service, a great visit. Would definitely recommend for anyone to visit.
Love the eggplant parm here. My favourite thing to get when I make a trip to the market - portion size, taste and value is always on point!
Came here with my family and I was craving an Italian sandwich. This spot definitely satisfied my cravings. I got their Chicken Parmigiano with a deep fried eggplant. They called it the godfather Chicken Paramagiano, from what I could remember. It was delicious and the the eggplant itself was an interesting but tasty addition to the sandwich. I would come here again to try their other menu items and most likely for their sandwiches.
wow! one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever eaten, there are always a lot of people waiting for them especially on weekends
Godfather is bomb!
Good food and quick service, though a little expensive
My favourite sandwich in the city
I love to eat at Uno Mustachio when Im at St. Lawrence Market in Toronto! This one is <Nonnas Chicken with Eggplant> and it was delicious! If you like eggplant, I really recommend this one. Everything tastes so fresh! Its also MASSIVE so you might have to share it with a friend. There is always a long lineup so its hard to miss.
2023 February 4 For an Italian veal sandwich, this is a great option in the area. The veal, breaded nicely was is nice and tender. The tomato sauce was flavorful. CLASSIC $11.75 options: Chicken Parmigiana Veal Parmigiana New York Steak Meatball (100% Beef) Sausage (Hot Italian) Eggplant Add toppings at $0.80 Add mozzarella cheese $1.00 Overall, not a bad sandwich. Filling. Located inside st. Lawrence market in the basement/lower floor level.
Hands down the best Italian sandwich I ve tried The sandwich is huge I had to share it with my husband. We took Nonas chicken sandwich. The marinara sauce is on point the bread is fantastic We tried the ravioli as well was soooo delicious and the stuffing was just perfect Viva Italy
Love the sandwiches (Godfather Veal sandwich, best in the city), nice friendly staff, great value for money.
Got the veal parmigiana. Bring a knife and fork and/or a towel because the veal is tough! I took one bite and the entire piece of veal came out of the sandwich and I was stuck between putting it back between the bread or eating it on its own. Maybe the chicken or eggplant is better, but the veal is a skip. Also $14.50 for this sandwich (incl mozzarella) is absurd....
Top notch Italian sandwiches! Chicken parmigiana is always delightful top it up with some red peppers, jalapenos, onions and mozzarella and you are in heaven. Hearty and delicious. Light on the pocket and big enough to share.
Its good
Godfather sandwiches are huge!
Delicious!!!
Ordered the veal godfather sandwich, if youre looking for a great veal sandwich, look no further. This is the one. Make sure to get napkins, its going to be messy, but the deliciousness of this sandwich will make you not care about any mess. Dont be scared, the jalapenos dont add too much eat, but they do add more flavour.
This establishment has been a staple and anchor tennant in the St.Lawrence Market for decades. The original Italian sandwich shop in the city, this place has been turning out fantastic sandwiches for ever. This place is the OG of parm sandwiches in the city. They set the bar for all the other establishments in the city. This is the best chicken parm in the city, in my opinion. I enjoy mine simple and straigh forward, sauce, cheese and peppers. This is my go to spot when in the downtown core.
No steak and there s another item on the menu that they didn t have, we settled for just okay meatballs sandwiches
Delicious sandwiches. As someone of Italian descent, I am extremely picky about my Italian food. The sauce was fantastic, and the eggplant and chicken cutlets were fried to perfection. I loved the peppers and onions, and the Kaiser roll was fresh. One was more than enough to share with a friend. Highly recommend.
The meatballs were very bad and the sauce sour.
The boss is a cool guy Surprisingly attentive given how busy they were. Gave me an extra plate when he noticed I was handling a couple kids, I didnt even ask. Eggplant parmesan sandwich I had was pretty epic too.
Delicious food, fast service. I strongly recommended
Delicious. One of my go tos in Toronto forsure. Food is amazing and service is even better
I think they re under new management. The veal sandwich isn t the same anymore
10/10 I would go back
Food is always amazing. When I went there wasnt really a line up. Some days there is a really big line up. The owner is super nice and the staff is friendly.
Amazing veal sandwiches!
Been coming here for years and love the whole experience. The sandwiches are amazing.
They re okay tasting, but I ve had better sandwiches elsewhere. Reason for my rating is they rush you and don t listen. I had to shout three times for something to the da deuce maker. Then I was asked if I want cheese with no indication it s an extra $ charge. So I spent more than I wanted to and shouted to be heard. Kick is owner said to check menu board to see what extra charge is. Sorry guys you need to do better!!!! I ve worked in fast food during my youth and provided better courteous service during rush hour.
Worth it if you re very hungry although there are better options in the market :)
The Chicken/eggplant sandwich is the best. The ingredients are fresh and the taste feels homemade. Definitely a must-try when visiting St. Lawrence. Great value per cost. Excellent work to this kitchen.
Delivery very bad
Honestly this is the place I always back go back to when I m in Toronto! They fed know how to make their sandwiches last till the last bite and keep them warm to the last bite. Sandwiches are always big and delicious! I d recommend to anyone! They do offer vegetarian option for a sandwich with eggplant witch is delicious! Vegetarian options: Eggplant parm!!!
Delicious and huge chicken parm sandwiches. Friendly staff.
In love with their sandwiches. The bun is perfect and the sandwich is hefty . You definitely won t be hungry after eating one of their sandwiches. Have been a huge fan for years.
The best place to eat in Canada by far, the food was amazing! They advised us in which sauce would be better and they were really attentive and patient with my family! Thank you for the experience and for the great service, for more places like this
Very disappointing experience - and the veal parmigiana was disappointing. Visited at 3 pm - all godfather sandwiches sold out. $16.50 for godfather. $13 for a classic sandwich. It says + $1 for cheese, which I added. One thin layer of dry af veal. Staff were also rude af - dont work in a tourist area if you have no customer service skills. You can do better, skip this place if youre a tourist. Try the peameal sandwich upstairs instead.
I had chicken parm sandwich. Sandwich bun, sauce and toppings were good. 4 star because chicken was a very thin piece. My benchmark for these sandwich is another GTA chain, so 4 star compared to the other chain. I didnt find this sandwich as filling.
The meatballs are fantastic! Pasta is nice too.
Amazing service. He kept calling me boss sandwiches were HEAVENLY tasted very fresh and super hot! loved every bite!
I got the Godfather sandwich
Lost treasure in st Lawrence market lower floor, sandwiches are wonderful. One is absolutely enough for two people! Loved it,
This place makes absolutely the best Italian sandwiches you could ask for. Our last time here we had the chicken parm and the Veal parm sandwich. Be sure to load up with the peppers and onions, half a sandwich is filling. Any visit to St.Lawrence market this is a must stop in. Never disappoints.
The Godfather Chicken Parmigiana sandwich was large, satisfying, and ok, but it had less flavor. Didn t even taste the cheese
Pros: - Fantastic bread; seriously fantastic - amazing staff - CLEAN - Did I say clean? - large portions - fresh peppers Cons - The veal parm lacked seasoning - the sauce was slightly bland, it needs sort and some tangy flavour - the Parmesan was the powdered kind and they were spooning it out of a tub. disappointed. Shaving out Parmesan is such an easy thing to do. It would add so much too the flavour and add an artisanal touch to the sandwich. - employees using bare hands to handle food and not washing after. I mean you have gloves and tongs right in front of you? EDIT: To clarify, what happened was one of the chicken or veal pieces fell off the pile outside of the tray that was a holding it; the employee picked it up with her fingers and put it back on the pile, then wiped her hands on her apron. The two second rule doesn t apply in food service in Canada. She was not the food prep girl.
Simple sandwiches.
Best meatball pasta ever had. Fully underrated
The food was delicious, but the customer service was terrible. The server was touching all the sandwiches content with her hands, even the chicken and cheese. It would be nice if they use the available tongs or gloves.
Always enjoy the Nona veal and eggplant but could do without the eye-roll from the young lady who made the sandwich up when I asked my wife if she wanted Mozzarella in response before giving the sandwich maker our answer.
The best Italian sandwiches in the city!
Best lasagna ever !
Get the Godfather with everything, load that puppy up! If youre looking for the best [enter meat here] parmesan sandwich, look no further. Youll have to set rules for yourself to keep you from coming back every day for another. I know I did! The staff (owner?) is awesome and you can taste the love they put into their craft.
Really tasty only 1 complaint is I ordered the veal and there was only 1 layer in the sandwich. The sandwich would been awesome with 1 more layer of veal. But overall highly recommended when in the area!
came here all the way from chicago just to try the Godfather sandwich! oh man! best sandwich ever! thank you so much to the owner and workers, i was there today 4/16/22 the place was so busy with a line of people, i ordered my sandwich and it was ready in 2 minutes no joke, warm and fresh! worth it every penny.
Very good sandwich!! Located on the lower level of the Market, the eggplant parmigiana sandwich with chicken is very well served and delicious! I highly recommend it!
I got the godfather sandwich. The portions are huge compared to sandwiches we get in Singapore. Honestly, one half is enough for one person easily. I was travelling with a couple and they were already full from one half. The sandwich I got was the veal one, which was savoury. The meat is slightly tough compared to a regular beef patty but I think that is because I never eaten veal before. Overall, recommend singaporean travellers coming to st lawarence to try this place out and try it with some friends. That way you still have space in your stomach to try the other things in the market as well.
Had chicken&egg plant sandwich, also meatball spaghetti. The tastes are certainly not exotic, but dwelling on this will make you miss a big point about this eatery. I believe the essence of the food here is to bring out maximum flavor with limited ingredients. In other words, they make perfect peoples food. I dont think Ive had much better meatball spaghetti or any other red sauce spaghetti elsewhere, even in high end restaurants. The simple, but hearty and satisfying tastes, make this eatery very unforgettable.
Holy messy huge sandwich! I ordered the Godfather which came with one piece of fried chicken and a mountain of fried eggplant and sauce on a bun! Choice of veggie additions and jalapeños. The sandwich was tasty and enough to share half and you will get your full fix. Friendly workers were very helpful. This place was recommended by many Toronto YouTubers.
Excellent hot sandwich, it was mesmerizing to see it made in front of us!
Back in the day i used to go here and get a stacked sangwhich with at least two layers of meat and it was proper, i could barely finish it. NOW, i dont know if its because of inflation or what but i got one measly little layer of meat, the sangwhich was more bun than meats and im still hungry after. And the veal was super stringy and had a lot of cartilage, i expected it to be softer.
Best place to go if you looking for a good veal or chicken parm sandwich also excellent customer service he even hooks it up now cause he knows I m a regular so he gives extra piece of chicken or veal he knows if he does that I m definitely coming back next week lol
The portion size looks small, however the sandwich is quite thick. I was disappointed as the eggplant in the sandwich felt like it was left out since it was cold. Besides that, the sandwich tasted good, but not great. I like how they deep fry the eggplant. The staff was friendly and quick.
We ordered lasagna and a chicken parmesan sandwich, both delicious. The staff was very attentive and very fast.
Need to get a system in place for fulfilling orders. Paid for 2 sandwiches. People who ordered after got served first. Only when I asked for a refund did they get me my sandwiches. Order was wrong though. Id avoid till they get their stuff together.
Based off the photos, Im not sure if I asked for the wrong thing or if the menu has been adjusted since. I ordered a veal sandwich with mozzarella. The single slice of veal left it feeling emptier than competitors such as California Sandwiches and overall just an average experience especially considering it came up to about $15
Their sandwiches are just meh, their customer service is laughable. Havent returned since the server at the counter wearing a spotty apron served a white lady who arrived AFTER me before me and ignored me, so Ive been ignoring them too. Lost my business forever.
One of the best places in town for Veal on a kaiser.
Great Pasta, they cook it in front of you! Delicious Bolognese pasta! Great service too!
Sure, the parmigiana sandwiches are epic, but for the amount of times you got denied when you try ordering pickup online from their medival era website that 9/10 times isnt working its a frustrating experience. Even worse is when you get there in person with the St Lawrence Market being the tourist trap it is, its always a s*** show trying to order from Uno Mustachio either the lineup is totally disordered and you find yourself waiting in line 15 minutes just to be told you were in the wrong lineup, or they screw up your order, or they give your sandwich to the wrong person, their debit credit machine is busted... The list of things that could go wrong dont end. Honestly it shouldnt be this hard to get a decent sandwich. just pack your patience if you really want Uno Mustashio sandwiches, but honestly its just not worth the hassle
OMG
Best sandwiches in the city!
Uno Mustachio has got to be my favourite sandwich spot! I got the veal with eggplant, this time. Sooo good! I devoured it so quickly I forgot to take photos.
Got a eggplant sandwich + cheese for $14.00, but the size is massive and you can choose all topping without extra charge, and it taste amazing, I suggest anyone who comes to st Lawrence market to give it a try !!
Very busy place. Serves best sandwiches in downtown.
It s been about 10 years since I last had a sandwich from here and nothing has changed! What a delicious treat!
Fresh yummy bun, delicious chicken & eggplant schnitzel. Huge size. Located on the lower floor. We will be back for more.
Love their spaghetti bolognese, huge portion and delicious!
Ive been coming here since I was 4 years old. Im 30 now. Veal/chicken Nonnas extra sauce, no jalapeños is the WAY TO GO. Ill be coming here until I die.
Friendly owner. Had a great chicken and eggplant sandwich with peppers. Authentic and yummy!
I feel like the picture says it all. Veal Parmigiana ($9.75) with mozzarella (+$0.88) plus free toppings (onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños). The flavours come together nicely, the edges of the veal are crispy, and the kaiser bun is soft and fresh. It may look neatly prepared but you ll need the pile of napkins it comes with. Somehow the sauce finds a way. Enter through the Market Street entrance - it takes you to the lower level; walk inside a bit and Uno Mustachio will be on your right.
Great pasta and sandwiches
Big and tasty sandwiches for a reasonable price! Sellers are very friendly!
I bought their famous veal and eggplant sandwich which BlogTo recommend, old bun , and veal meat was so hard to chew and bad so I throw it on garbage, eggplant and other stuff were nice so I ate them with that old bread,,, last time for me
Best Italian sandwiches in Toronto!
The best Italian sandwiches in Toronto hands down. Unfortunately no foccacia during the week but on weekends it is a real treat. The chicken and veal are always fresh, tender and tasty. Pro tip get the Godfather if you like eggplant and wash down with an Orangina if you like orange juice. Enjoy.
my favorite places to get a veal eggplant parmesan
Have the Godfather - chicken parmesan with eggplant on a crispy kaiser topped with optional garnishes such as cheese, fried onions, mushrooms, and hot peppers. Huge portion! Or for a vegetarian option just order the eggplant sandwich without the cheese. Location: On the lower level of market at the foot of the stairs. Grab and go. There are tables outside in the upper and lower levels of St. Lawrence Market.
Good veal and eggplant sandwiches but a little on the pricey side. I don t get the the market that often so I always grab one on my way out after shopping it s a nice treat so being pricey is not that big of a deal once in a while.
My husband just ordered lunch for himself and I through Doordash and the restaurant claimed that they did not receive the order and would not complete the order, even though they had confirmed it on Doordash. Extremely outdated practices and system. Would not order from here again.
I live and breathe for the godfather chicken parm sandwich with eggplant. trust these guys when they say to get it with everything and a little spicy. this is a must eat spot in the market
Best sandwich ever!!! A dream sandwich of egg plant lovers. They piled up it with egg plant and so yummy with melted cheese. First thought was it s quite expensive but for the size of the sandwich it was okay. Staff was friendly.
OMG this place is so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about their sandwiches. They are messy, best eaten there. Its a little hard to find seating during busy times. There are extra tables near the elevator if you are stuck or outside in the summer.
I stopped by for a chicken parmesan sandwich last week. It was incredible, the two gentleman making it were friendly, and every time I am in the market I will return!
Had the godfather veal parmigiana sandwich, tasty, will try it spicy next time
Great tasting sandwiches and food! A little pricy but great food
This place is always amazing. Best chicken parm sandwich in town by far. Classically done and a fair price to boot.
Always enjoy their eggplant sandwich, classic version. Always delicious.
Just can t get enough, always the right amount of sauce, cheese, onions, the best customer service, godfather my fav
I love the Italian sandwiches. A bit pricey though even though I didnt order so many toppings. It was $11.02. Really? Thats the same price for what I paid for replacing my broken guitar string!
Fantastic sandwiches! We dont come to the St Lawrence market often, but when we do, we always get sandwiches from Mustachio. Tastes homemade, and the quality is always consistent. Fast service, even when busy. Highly recommended!
Tried the veal parmigiana sandwich and found it decent. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt as mind-blowing as I expected it from reading the other reviews. Definitely also a little bit on the pricier end, but it makes sense considering the location is St-Lawrence Market. Would still recommend this spot though if youve never tried an Italian veal sandwich
We got the veal with eggplant. It was so good. It took a while to get our order but when we got it, it was hot and fresh. Well worth the wait. Grab some napkins too, youll need it. This is in the lower ground level of the market next to a pastry shop.
The food is delicious but I had in the end of the day and I m having a terrible diarrhea.
a good alternative to chain Italian sandwiches Toronto loves its Italian sandwiches; thinly sliced veal or chicken fried and doused liberally with tomato sauce and served typically on a soft Kaiser bun with toppings of your choice including peppers, cheese, sautéed onions, mushrooms, etc., and Mustachios serves a solid contender in the category, competing comfortably with city stalwarts named after sunny states and others. Though a large sandwich, it is a bit over priced at over $12 and while not the best of the type, it is a nice change and worth trying.
Great food and friendly staff. Line moves quick!
Delicious veal and eggplant sandwich. Very quick services. HIGHLY recommend that you indicate that youre located on the lower level in your address line. I circled the market for a while before I even realized there was a downstairs.
Veal eggplant parmesan out of this world
Delicious food.
Who said this place was delicious... Only Canadians can eat delicious food... Its so big, its so expensive, and I really wasted a meal like this!!!
Don get the bambinas pasta. For 7.5$ you can find much better pasta elsewhere. Basic sauce with penne.
I was here just before starting our scavenger hunt game that was in the area so need a bite to last me a few hours and found myself here, Uno Mustachio is located in the lower area of the St. Lawrence Market. They serve all sorts of pastas and sandwiches. At first I thought it was quite expensive for $13 for a sandwich but when they started to assemble it wow it was huge. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich with provolone cheese, grilled eggplant and peppers. This guy was pretty filling and lasted me the few hours of running around the city. Definitely recommend.
Its a little messy but delicious Big sandwich
Epic veal parmiggiano sandwishes
Delicious delicious delicious thats all Im going to say
the pricing here is getting ridiculous! $15.50 for a veal sandwich back in 2011 it was $6.99. Its not even that good! wont be returning!
The veal was tasty and the service was friendly. The location is great. There is paid parking around.
