I have had numerous fantastic experiences here. The quality of the food and service is high - perhaps it was not this way in the past, but for the past year it's been delivering every single time. The staff are friendly, fast, and have all the answers you need. The chicken shawarma is amazing, and the ingredients are all very fresh. Highly recommend you go.
This is my honest review of the place. The food just isn't good. Save your money and go next door to "Burger Drops". I wish I did.
Got my order completely wrong. I ordered ahead for two chicken shawarma plates with no pickles and no turnips in both. I picked it up, friendly staff, clean store, easy. But when I got home and opened the bag, it was two beef shawarma plates and both had pickles and turnips in them. I didn't want to waste time to go back or get a refund so whatever. Tasted good but I would've enjoyed the chicken more.
Ordered a large shawarma with a drink, but it was really small and not very tasty. For around $17, I expected a better portion and flavor. Disappointing for the price
This place used to be my favourite local place to get shawarma about ten years ago. It has really gone downhill since then. The Shawarma had no flavour and was lacking the same great taste I used to love. Sadly I will not be returning.
This is one of my favourite shawarma spots in the city. The portion size is good and competitive prices. The falafel sandwich is my favourite, and I appreciate the fresh toppings and the shawarma and hot sauces add a lot of flavour.
Oh man... that was not good. Trust me, do not get the Uber Eats B1G1 deal. It's just not worth it. I'm sorry to leave a bad review like this, but I'm kind of sad about what I received. I was so excited for a tasty shawarma, but I got sad ones instead. Not much flavour in the chicken, and the ratios seemed off. Likely due to the B1G1 deal. The lettuce also seemed a bit old and the cabbage kind of overpowered the rest of the items in terms of flavour. The way they packaged it made it soggy, so the wrap itself was falling apart and making a mess. Maybe I just got really unlucky? Nah but stick to your local shawarma place for good measure. I'm so sorry but it felt like a McDonald's snack wrap 😭😭😭
First impressions lasts. It's always about the right execution and passionate people doing the job. I see a lot of great reviews at this place. It was my boyfriend who ordered the food on Skip the Dishes. It's our first time to order at this place, he says to give it a chance. Well, here it goes. Falafel was really good but would be really nice if they put in some sauce for it. Secondly, my chicken shawarma had something extra with it. When I was poking my fork on the red cabbage I found a "lid from one of their squeeze bottles". I told my boyfriend, "oh look a surprise!!!" Look at the pictures as evidence. Some people might be grossed out about it but not me. I ignored it. Chicken was a bit dry, food was a bit cold. Tasty though. Third, it would be nice if the website or the restaurant could ask Skip the Dishes to fix selection especially on the degree of spiciness or heat. I, for one cannot tolerate heat as I prefer to taste the food as is without heat. I prefer to enjoy a meal without sipping on a beverage every 10-15 seconds. I didn't order soup, you know. I love trying different foods and cuisines but it's unfortunate our first try at this place was a disappointment.
Fast and amazing
Not bad at all
Go-to chicken shawarma
Always fresh and tasty and the way shawarma it should be in this amazing store.
Really enjoyed the falafel and the portions were amazing
Parking: A few infront Food
Some of the best shawarma in the city! Their sauces are the best!
Fast friendly service with fantastic food
You know what? This is a pretty good place for a quick bite, especially late night. The chicken shawarma platter was solid, and the service really good for a one-person cook/cashier/server.
The best shawarma in the city, I always tell everyone to go. The reviews dont do this place justice! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp for access
Ive been coming to this location for more than 8 years. Liberty Shawarma is my favourite shawarma place in Toronto. I absolutely love it. Im updating my review because I see some negative ones about price and value. They make their own sauces here on site. The ingredients are always clean and fresh. I come for lunch at least once a week because I find the value exceptional for the quality of food and services I receive. Best hot sauce ever.
Pathetic. The white lights shine brightly on the piddly display of day old food scattered all over the place. The plate had so little meat and was all sauce. The potatoes were cold. The prices were astronomical. Hopefully this dump goes bankrupt soon so someone with class opens up something better.
Fikri was making my shawarma, and he had such lovely customer service! He is sure to brighten anyones day here. Thanks Fikri!
Great staff and service
Ordered UE, checked reviews later and was scared due to the negative ones. However, food was good and tasty. Ordered falafel rolls and boxes.
Shawarma tastes fine - but would not recommend if youre hungry. Smallest shawarma Ive ever had in my life.
High prices for very small quantities of meat... Their large chicken shawarma barely has any chicken in it. Youre better off going to any other shawarma spot.
Food was just not fresh.
Expensive and not delicious. Pay $15 to be hungry in an hour.
I have been eating shawarma/ falafel wraps from all kind of vendors since I was a child, and this one, was really disappointing and gave me stomach ache and gas from 3pm when I had it to when I went to sleep at 11pm 1) the wrap bread is cheap (probably supermarket bread) and should have been cooked a little more to be firm 2) the wrap is small I was disappointed. Then it started falling apart, having holes and «unwraping » throughout the bites. 3) fries were too cripsy and unsalted 4) I paid $18 after taxes for a falafel wrap combo, which is obviously a reach for that food. 5) Most importantly, I m glad I didnt get food poisoning because I was belching the whole day and couldn t digest it even though it was only falafel wrap, not even beef A disgrace to middle eastern food, coming from an Arabic customer who knows what Middle Eastern food is. Never coming back for sure
Way too expensive for what you get. Ordered the everyday special that has fries, shawarma wrap, and a can of pop. It came to just under 20 dollars and the wrap felt like it was a piece of pita bread with almost nothing inside. It basically felt like I paid $20 for plain french fries. Will not be wasting my money here again.
I ordered by Uber eats 2 sandwiches Chicken shawarma (they have an offer of buy 1 get 1 free) The sandwich is so bad, full of vegetables and a little bit on chicken which is not tasty, I paid 20$ and i regret it 100%, I don t like to rate with 1 start but it was really a bad experience.
Expensive Bad food and even more bad attitude
Best Shawarma place in Toronto. Tried everywhere else in Toronto GTA but this place serves authentic and delicious shawarma and falafal.
Good beef shawarma!!!
It has really gone downhill since just a year ago. Only service is good, the people behind the counter are always nice and friendly. However, the portions have gotten to about half of what it used to be, the salad seems different and the taste overall is not as good as before. The only thing that increased was the price, by quite a noticeable amount too. Maybe they changed the owner? I dont know what happened, but Im getting my shawarmas elsewhere for now... and you should too, lots of good and more affordable food options a bit further west between Parkdale and Roncesvalles.
Food tasted very ok and I got mild food poisoning
Wow! Best Falafel ever. Go on Tuesday for 2 for 1 - honestly Ive eaten these things all over and this one is spectacular for a 10-15 buck meal.
The staffs are friendly and the shawarma was good too
the shawarma is so trash and was mostly filled with lettuce. the chicken tasted so weird. i would not recommend this place at all
DO NOT ORDER SKIP FROM THIS PLACE. THEY GIVE YOU YESTURDAYS LEFT OVERS. COLD FOOD, DRY, NO SAUCE.....DISCUSTING.. RICE WAS ICE COLD. CHICKEN WAS AT LEAST A DAY OLD AND COLD...
Best shawarma Toronto
The chicken and beef shawarma are very good here facts plus good daily deals
For an almost 1.5x more price compared to other shawarma places, i had the worst taste of wrap, i could get fine food with this price. I only tried shawarma wrap and i am done
Vegetarian options: No clean
50% of chicken is just fat. Not worth the price you pay for.
There was a gentleman working alone, and he was doing a great job flying solo. Made a very good meal for me and my father stopping in from the convention center.
Great service, quality ingredients and Karam is very kind, highly recommend!
Top 3 worst shawarma Ive had in city bland dry chicken small portion and the PRICE!!! wow 13$ small shawarma...still hungry 1st and last time
The food at this Shawarma place is amazing! Dont miss out!
So I have upgraded the review because I went back after not having visited for over a year. Over all much much better , Id stick with the falafel sandwich its consistently the freshest item.
I had the beef shawarma sandwich. Will come back again when in the area
We did not enjoy our meal here. Ordered the chicken shawarma entree and the rice was really dry and unfavorable, as was the chicken.
The staff here are rube and seem like they want you to just buy food and get out, the food was dry, I should have gotten the hit and saved my money
Their shawarma plate is my favourite in the whole city. Their chicken is juicy and the sides are phenomenal in flavour. The garlic sauce, is to die for and worth the extra buck IF they choose to charge it which they usually don t. Highly recommended!
Huge portion , amazing price , awesome traditional food ! Love the garlic sauce btw omg
Always great
I asked for a LARGE shawarma wrap for about $15. I received a wrap smaller than one of those $14 for two deal from others places. dont go to this place. you will regret it. PS I asked for spicy and I got none in my wrap.
Chicken shawarma was perfect.
Chicken shawarma plate was $19.20 after tax.. I really like their chicken shawarma sandwich, but also a bit pricy. I d prolly go back for daily special next time. I like shawarma generally, so taste was alright. Its a shawarma! :)
Foods good bad service rude grumpy
This place has the best shawarma I have ever tried. However, the service is terrible. I have been going to this place for 10+ years but if you care about customer service, dont expect any.
Must have changed cooks, potatoes are not the tasty same, small shawarma used to be $9 now 13, and I get attitude when I asked about the pricing. Shawarma dry , ingredients have not the same taste, must have someone else making salads , total rip off. Every time I go in and ask for something there seems to be a No soup for you attitude. I work in the area for over 5 years, never consistent taste or service.
Ordered in person. Overpriced & not yummy at all :( Service was decent. Food : 1/5
tasty and quick
Very disappointed, probably one of the worst shawarmas I ve had..
I stopped going here for 6 months because there was hair in my food. Tried it again and had hair again in my food. Dont eat here.
Shawarma was sub par, lacks pickles and grit. Went once and it was good, second time was a disappointment for all parties.
On a good day, their fries are perfect, fluffy insides with a very crispy skin. Other days, the it can be a lil dry.
Delicious shawarma but be careful with the hot sauce... its actually legitimately hot.
Delicious food. Parking: 2 or 3 parking spots right in front of the restaurant. Food : 5/5 |
First time going to this shawarma place. Ive been having Lebanese food for more than 20 years and I can say this one ranks low on my list. One, they make you pay and tip prior to creating your meal. Therefore, you feel obligated to tip higher to gain greater service. Second, the large shawarma is just a regular pita size slightly over stuffed with cheap veggies like lettuce. Third, the guy behind the counter was not in a customer service mood, ignoring me half the time and adding things I did not clearly request (filler, cheap veggies). Fourth, the sandwich was dry in most parts, except for the part I had to request three times to add additional hummus. I will admit, the hummus was not bad, just wish he would properly portion more hummus for a wrap of that size. Fifth, the sandwich, although full of veggies, lacked flavor or aroma in the chicken and garlic sauce. Sixth, the restaurant left much to be desired, not very clean or welcoming. Lastly, the sandwich, for what you get, is like $3 overpriced.
Pretty delicious food and quick service.
Watery ingredients made for a shawarma in a puddle, undercooked soggy fries, and a can of room temperature coke was not worth the $18.05. A conveniently placed shop serving an inconvenience of a meal.
Food was sup par at best. Service was sup par at best.
Had very bad experience, food is not good.
Worst food experience I ve ever had through Uber Eats. Everything was frozen cold, potatoes were burnt and soaked in oil. Chicken was dry and burnt. I threw everything out it was honestly inedible. Don t go here, save your money. Such a joke.
Wrap fell apart when I went to eat it. Tried to go here a few times to see if quality/quantity changed at all but theyre VERY cheap on the chicken. Been there a few times and seen the owner being extremely rude to his employees. Overpriced and not worth it. Go to Habibi Shawarma down the street.
Fullof veg in beef shawarma
Delicious chicken shawarma
Usually good if you go in but take out is hit and miss. Falafel was missing Tahini sauce and sandwich had hot sauce that I didnt ask for.
One of the best Shawarma in the city!
Great shawarma for a good price in Downtown Toronto. I shared a daily special with my brother (two shawarmas for 13.99). We were both pretty satisfied with the portions as well as the great flavour.
Very delicious
Great quantity and taste
So good fast clean
Had the shawarma plate a few times before and it was great, but recently theyve started adding caraway seeds to the rice, absolutely ruined the dish for me, had to throw it out halfway
Love the shawarma from here!
great shawarma, but at the end i realise that the chicken was severly under cook. its totally unhealthy and i hope i wont be sick
Probably the worst shawarma Ive had in Canada, the meat had a weird after taste, the rice was stale overall negative experience. The price was good though.
Say less hands down to the best shawarma in GTA
Meat on a stick. Delish
Meh food for decent price. There s better shawarma out there
Not the best
The place doesnt look that great on the outside or inside but the food is actually bomb! They have nice promos too! Check them out!
Absolutely delicious shawarmas
The shawarma here is amazing. Cant complain about the chicken or beef. Fresh salad/veggies. Love the hot sauce they have. I could come here every day. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Friendly staff. Quick service. Ordered 2 chicken shawarma, which hit the spot!
13 dolars to still be hungry too expensive
The food did not taste good. The beef was burnt and overall shawarma dinner was not enjoyable. Also, the staff were so out of it maybe because of the late night but the interaction was just poor as if they were waiting for things to close up. Finally there were literal Bugs crawling inside the store. Overall, quite poor
Food is good. The guy that is always working when I go loves to wear his AirPods and not acknowledge anything I say or request, this happens regularly . You just have to hope he hears you say extra garlic sauce please . You won t know if he heard your or not until you get your food and check to see if you got extra garlic. Consider a different job if you don t like yours so much you can t respond to people when taking food orders.
Unfortunately bad quality wraps for the price
after the TFC game was filling and had alot of flavor
A wow!
Parking: Theres parking right in front
We did the Sunday special chicken shawarma combo. It was ok, though a bit salty.
Amazing shwarma, best hot sauce iver ever had
First time there. Disgusting, overpriced burnt food. Take my advice and just dont go.
The sauce here is fantastic. Great tasting shawarma. A little light on the meat though.
Some of the better shawarma I ve had in a while. Don t get what all the negative reviews are for. It s nothing special but it beats your average big grill.
I have been there before and it was amazing! But when i went today amd got chicken shawarma plate, the garlic sauce was soo sour that i cannot eat it more than 2 spoons, i am disheartened because garlic sauce is not supposed to be this much sour.
Amazing food Everything is made from scratch, professional employees, my favourite go-to is chicken entrée which comes with a very good variety of vegetables good for my body, sauces are delicious. Hot sauce is amazing a bit spicy for me but you can tell your server your preference Mild/Medium or Spicy and they can put the right amount and ask for confirmation if that amount is sufficient. Thank you so much guys for the amazing food ,service and positive energy.
I went to there for one time later at night around 2.30 am on Friday. I got the food that was very fresh and tasty. The staff was really good with customer and they gave me everything I want even though It wasnt part of my order. Really good service, food and everything else.
I dont like places where people make food with no love. The falafel sandwich that I got was just a total mess. Just dumping stuff into the pita. They are busy, so thats what you get
Delicious falafel wraps here. Havent tried the chicken yet but Ill be back
Very dirty, filthy tools/work surfaces. Saw a cockroach run across the room waiting for my pickup order. Not horrible but easily the worst shawarma I ve had in the city.
Chicken shawarma is good.
Excellent shawarma! Be sure to get the homemade hot sauce!
Friendly, good portions, and their food station is very clean and organized.
This is hands down the best shawarma in the city. They are unique because they put onions and garlic sauce on the meat while cooking on the flat top. They also use a delicious and flavourful green hot sauce that is to DIE for.
Really good stuff here and AMAZING hours. The topping selection is fantastic. Vegetarian options: lots of good salads and veggie-only options for stuff Dietary restrictions: I have a super sensitive stomach to processed junk and preservatives, etc. NONE of that here. good clean simple food.
Awesome shawarma joint, grabbed the large mixed and it was both satisfying and tasty. The two staff members who served me were funny and friendly. I will note this place needs spicier hot sauce! Im a spice fiend, so I didnt get the sting I was hoping. However, Im a bit of an outlier so the average eater will probably find it serviceable. My only regret with Liberty is I didnt take a picture of my wrap, it looked as delicious as it tasted.
DO NOT EAT HERE. Literally the worst falafel Ive ever had. Rotten salads. Really awful rice. Expensive. Awful.
Food was good but very pricey compare with other places
Avoid the falafel at all cost. Frozen, not cooked well, hard as a rock.
My favourite shawarma place! Chicken is always juicy and crispy. Vegetables are fresh & absolutely love their garlic sauce!
Its almost impossible to find falafel in their wraps. I ordered twice and it was mainly lettuce and I think two falafel balls, if even that? I decided to get a large as a change and it was even more disappointing. Same amount of falafel (barely any) and primarily lettuce and cabbage. 1/5 would NOT recommend and not going back
Usually good customer service. Two male employees were rude and unhelpful with me before giving me the wrong order on May 1st at around 630-7pm. I really enjoy the food here but I wont be returning after this experience. Wrap was split up the center and exploded after opening the wax paper, there was no tahini or hot sauce (I wasnt even offered). Employees had little respect or professionalism.
They mixed their water with a bit of sauce
I just got food poisoning from liberty shawarma. Heads up if youre going. I got the classic chicken shawarma.
Best Chicken Shawarma platters! Love their hot sauce. Flavour with good heat!
Really good food
It was ok. May give it another try
Unreal shawarma meats and amazing fries
Amazing platters, best Ive had in the city. Massive portions
The shawarma wraps are small. The portion of meat inside is not comparable to other shawarma joints. The taste is average. The price is ok. The staff working there seemed out of it lol (did not effect the rating) Id go there again if I was hungry and in the area, but definitely wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.
Great shawarma place that we frequent often. The portion sizes are nice and the meals are always delicious. Fast service through pickup apps means it s rdy to grab in a jiffy
my favourite shawarma in the city!!! decent sized portions with incredible flavour. every sauce they have is on point (the garlic, the hummus, the hot sauce, etc.) and the meat is never dry. the workers are efficient, friendly and generous with toppings! get a side of the tabbouleh as well!! so yummy!
Mehhh
Horrible service the guy is so rude .
Best Shawarma in town. All ingredients are always fresh. Ayman Makes the best Sandwiches and platters.
Amazing shawarma. Packed, filling and super delicious. Also open very late which is great! I only have good things to say about this place. Absolutely recommend you try it atleast once
Always an incredible meal and phenomenal service here. You wont be disappointed.
The shawarmas selection of this place is very tasty but the wraps doesn t contain that much meat. It looks like they only gave me a sliced of chicken in the wrap maybe one of their employees thought it was funny? I won t be discouraged from going back since it s just one person that done it to me, but if it happens again from a different server than I won t be coming back.
Dont come late night. 1 am waited 20 minutes for the solo worker with no help to reset his entire section. Likely had a tough day alone and abandoned to fend for himself. Obviously setting up for tomorrow rather than take care of walk ins. All delivery apps available which means no staff and perhaps greedy owners. Okay shawarma.
There is a guy name YONAS he is master of that place very clean and well experienced. Best Cook Food is amazing
Absolutely horrible. The food was also too spicy which wasn t mentioned on the menu and I got really sick. Never ordering again.
First time there, got the chicken platter was very happy with it. Lots of meat, big serving, good sauces. Didn t feel heavy after, will order again.
Had the Chicken shawarmas.. they were pretty bland. No sauces added. The size of the shawarmas was good.
Best shawarmas I have ever had. Once you try the beef you won t order the chicken ever again! Lots of fresh vegetables and great hot sauce!
I love the food here, however only one guy is generous with the toppings. Every time I come in I hope he s there to prepare my order. I was just there 2 days ago and another employee was working. She gave me 1 tomato a sprinkle of veggies and a smear of chicken. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate as I always do and usually my toppings are piled on, but this time was a disappointment. Everyone should take pointers from the main guy on how to properly prepare a shawarma plate.
Been going here for a while. Always tip the guy at the counter well. Today I was waiting in line and ordered the special. He said he wouldn t give it to me because it was after 8. I asked what time it was and he said 8:02 dead serious. I thought maybe he was joking. He genuinely wouldn t give me the deal. Won t be going here again.
Ive been going here for years and absolutely love it. The food is always fresh and the portions are big Very friendly staff and a great selectjon of beverages I always look forward to dropping into my favorite shawarm spot when in the area 5
There was a spicy sauce on my chicken shawarma plate, too spicy for my liking. I wish I had the option to no include this, they didnt even mention that the meal was spicey on the meal description.
Absolutely love this place! Ibrahim was patient and provided me with fast and fresh food ! Very good service
A typical shawarma place offering plates and shawarmas. The large is quite filling and is about $13. They have daily specials with discounts on items. The shawarma tasted great and was well seasoned.
Since moving to the area I was looking forward to a new sharwama place. This place was supposed to be it. I was very disappointed. There were no other customers, yet I felt rushed and so was the food! The wrap is falling apart and tastes bland. I asked for extra Cajun spice on the Fries.. theres literally zero. maybe its a one off but overall for the first visit .. made such a bad impression I wont be visiting again.
I had the beef shawarma platter and it was great. It had a nice balance of flavors and textures. The meat was flavorful as well. At $14, its not too bad as the portion is big so i have leftovers for the next day. I also love the garlic sauce on it. I would definitely come back again.
Outside deciding to go in or not .... door is open. I hear a couple coughs , guys come out from the back , no mask on . Wiping into his sleeve . Not a hard choice to past hard on this place . I ve eaten here before , I will never again .
Amazing food! Great find!
The best local shawarma wraps and are value for money with their daily offers on different wraps.
Biggest shawarma plate around. There is absolutely no reason to finish it in one sitting. Lots of extra toppings you wont find at most places. Green hot sauce is solid.
Usually pretty good. Just ordered from Uber Eats a moment ago though. Asked for no turnip and definitely got turnip. Doesn t seem like a complicated order.
The woman was rude in service!!
This is good shawarma!!! Get the beef instead of chicken if you can :)
So bad cant believe it. First wouldnt take our order over the phone so we had to use their delivery website. Complained about the size of our order when we were ordering for work staff. Placed various orders of different types of shawarma when he got there to pick up the staff made us wait outside in the rain till he finished his cigarette and then when we got our order and opened it he had made everything the exact same order ignoring the order we had placed. The wraps were so awfully constructed they just ripped and fell apart, he wrote the correct order on the bag for my wrap but didnt even make the wrap that way. Legit awful and disappointing would never order agaun
Good shawarma place, I like their falafel, shawarma, and fries, but some of the salads are too salty to eat. I had to throw it out.
