Philosophy Good food and Good wine, Flavour first We offer a chef table experience with a constantly changing set menu based on seasonality and proximity of ingredients with an option for wine pairings. The dishes have a personal and modern approach to traditional recipes from Spain and France. We serve one table of 2 to 6 guests per seating, so you will receive a personal dining experience in a quiet, intimate and romantic space. Our roots are in the Basque, Catalan, French and Latin Cuisines. Our ambience is Intimate and cozy ; ideal for couples and small groups, . The restaurant is conveniently located in Yonge street, steps away from Rosedale Station and 10 minutes walk from Yorkville and Bloor.

My wife and I dined privately at El Tenedor. From the moment we entered to the moment we walked out, everything was absolute perfection. From the warm personal greeting, to the intimate atmosphere, to the creative and delicious courses (completely up to the chef/owner - we had no idea what we’d be eating until each course was served), to the wine pairings, to the top shelf table service, to the music, to the… you get the idea. At some fine restaurants, you get great food and service but for some reason it’s not so easy to find joy in the experience. At El Tenedor, my wife and I found ourselves smiling and laughing, simply because the combination of it all made us so HAPPY! Five stars doesn’t say enough for how good this place is.
Truly outstanding experience. I booked a dinner for me and my partner on a Friday night, not realizing how small and intimate this restaurant was, which is currently only accepting one dinner a night. The service and timing of the meals was spectacular, and the food was delicious and went together so well with the wine pairings. Every dish was delicious and made with care. I would list my favorites, but I truly loved each dish, including the bread with the great duck fat spread. We had such a great time, highly recommend for anyone to come here for a special occasion, you won't be disappointed.
Wonderful dining experience with great sense of privacy and intimate setting. The server and the chef were extremely easy to approach and hospitable. Food was amazing, especially the artichokes honey and goat cheese, amazing appetizer to start off. Didn't have any trouble finding the restaurant's location as well. No complaints at all and would definitely want to go back again and try out other dishes on the menu.
Some of the most unique food and atmosphere in Toronto! Food is more on the French side. It is all really good and the service was above and beyond. Highly recommend the artichoke appetizer and the duck is very unique if you want to try something new!
A gem of creative and exquisite cuisine. Maximum flavour, bold menu, perfect short wine list and passionate chef. This place is not to be missed. Bonus: Eat appetizers for dessert, its an emerging trend and eminently sensible!! Exceptional: Don't miss the bread, Dijon butter or the black truffle, crunchy onion duck fat spread, omg.
I very very loved everything about this restaurant! The customer service is amazing, the food is delicious, great wine too! Lovely romantic atmosphere. The chef has the kitchen very open so you can see him cooking and I loved chatting with him and with our waiter! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Foie gras is to die for, I had raw scallops (never had uncooked scallops in my life), were so delicious!
I really love this place. To me it's one of the best restaraunts in this city. Best kept secret to be sure. Update: still the best restaraunt in town
Great experience, loved the space and the service. I found the menu simple and overpriced compare to other restaurants around or other Spanish places I’ve been. For example, the ice cream desert was $12 and I didn’t find anything special about it but that’s my personal option.
We had the restaurant to ourselves so we had a cozy private dining. The dishes are creative and the chef delivered each plate and explained each dish in detail. Lovely food and experience.

My husband and I have visited El Tenedor twice and will absolute return (again and again). Each dish is incredibly favorable, surprising, and memorable, with ingredients I wouldnt have thought of combining. Every dish was our favorite dish. We were equally delighted with the chefs wine pairings. Highly recommend! (Edit from May 2021) - We just ordered a ChefBox from El Tenedor to celebrate our anniversary at home, during the pandemic, and again we were *so* impressed. Cesar went above and beyond and delivered a meal to us that we will remember for a long time. Each course was delightful and the wine pairing was perfect. My husband chose the lamb shank and I chose the seafood fideuá and it was the best meal weve had during the pandemic. Thank you Cesar!
This is by far the best restaurant I have been to in Toronto since I came here in 2007. The food is delicious, the chef was very attentive and funny and overall the ambiance is to die for
One of the best meals we have ever had in Toronto (and elsewhere)! Phenomenal and innovative dishes, amazing service, and had a great time chatting with the Chef! We will absolutely be coming back soon for another very special evening.

I stumbled on this undiscovered gem right in our neighboorhood. The decor was unique and incredible. I was happy to see how clean everything was. Try out the huge selection of incredible appetizers. Id give more than 5 stars if I could!

Took my wonderful wife for a dinner date, we ate the scallops, artichoke hearts (must have), the beef, and duck. Since the beginning of quarantine, 6 months or so... This is by far the best meal we had. Incredibly friendly service, food is absolutely spectacular. Thank you for an incredible eating experience.

Absolutely delicious food! And absolutely wonderful people! I felt such warmth and hospitality here. The owner is a gracious gentleman and the server is such a lovely lady! The flavours are perfectly balanced and very much French and Spanish inspired.
Really excellent service, cuisine, and ambience. Artichoke was a bit on the salty side for us but cod and scallop carpaccio were so good!
I went during the modified phase 2 in Toronto and the food was not very good - it felt like home cooking for fine dining prices.
Absolutely spectacular Chef Box. For the first time, I felt a chefs care and attention to detail in my own kitchen. So many leagues above the standard takeout or delivery. His 4 course meal with thoughtfully paired wine and were spectacular, with meat, fish and vegetarian options readily available and delicious.
Tasty dishes and also plated beautifully. The foie gras pate with honey sourdough bread is superb. Warm and cozy setting with attentive service. Will definitely go back to try out more dishes.

What an amazing restaurant. This night we celebrated my wifes birthday - what a super romantic atmosphere. We loved the Vieiras Scallop Carpaccio and Salmón con Xató, and Ive heard the Artichoke Alcachofas Con Queso is amazing too. Well be back for the tapas next time. Ask for a wine pairing for the dish you choose - they have an amazing selection.
One of the best, if not the best Iberian restaurant in the GTA. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Will definitely return.
This is the best restaurant in Toronto, hands down. Its small, private and welcoming. On top, the dishes are some of the most intricate pallet combinations, I have ever tried. Chocolate Duck might sound strange at first, but once you have tried it, you will understand the genius of the chef. Give this place a try and you will fall in love.

Unbelievable food. Beyond delicious along with fantastic presentation. Good for couples and a group like ours of 8. Chef and host were so gracious and friendly and very flexible. Absolutely go and have a meal there. We did the tapas and our friends have tried the tasting menu which were equally delicious.

To say this restaurant is amazing is a complete understatement. When you come to el tenedor you are treated with high quality service. It is the perfect place for an intimate setting. And the food is an experience. The flavours as well as the wine pairings go hand-in-hand and I highly recommend trying each and every dish. Worth every penny.

Incredible food, atmosphere and service is the best way to summarize this restaurant north of Bloor. It was the coziest way to celebrate my best friend s birthday. Highly recommend for a warm and intimate experience.
Had a great private dinner last night with 12 people. The team was friendly, explaining all the food to us as we went along, super wonderful staff. Food was absolutely delicious and everyone had a great time.
We started off with a great experience, but ended very poorly when we found out that the restaurant forgot to substitute the scallops for the steak on the risotto, which they said was no problem, and then charged us full price for the risotto (that was supposed to be with scallops) and the beef tenderloin (which was supposed to be the substitute) and then when they brought over the liqueurs at the end which we didnt ask for, thought they were comped like most restaurants would do if we didnt ask and then proceeded to charge us for them all. Sorry but this is unacceptable and when we asked them about it they then proceeded to say we will take care of it next time...sorry but I dont think there will be a next time :( I hope the extra $100+ was worth it as I wanted to bring my wife back and would have recommended you to others, but not after trying to pull this on us. My fault for not catching it sooner, but thought as a new restaurant you would want to ensure your customers have the best experience and want to come back...not hope you come back and maybe I wont rip you off next time. Thanks for that end to our night
Just north of Davenport tucked beneath town home residences. Awesome spot for an intimate and private gourmet tapas and wine experience. Highly recommended. Top shelf service
Really good food!!! Very peculiar, but still has the roots of Iberian cuisine. As a Spanish person I recommend this place for a chill intimate time with friends or significant other. Love the decoration, very cosy. Price is ok for the quality but a bit high in my opinion. Only one thing, please change the salsa and merengue music for something from Spain like El cigala, Concha Buika, Rosário flores or so, it will make the atmosphere more Spanish authentic.
Great food - real gourmet. Tastefully appointed and very comfortable place. Friendly and welcoming staff. One of the comments seems to be about an honest mistake in a rambling and petty manner. I visited this restaurant several times and always was absolutely delighted by the people and the food they create.

Absolutely stunning restaurant. The food on the tasting menu was amazing, and the staff was fantastic. We were told that the three of us were the first millenials they had ever had in the restaurant which was cute. Definitely a nice intimate place to go with a small group, or date night considering they only hold 18.
