Authentic Spanish cuisine and fine wine in a charming, Intimate space.
La Paella is a fantastic spot for authentic Spanish cuisine. Their lamb paella is a must-try, with tender meat and flavorful rice. But don't overlook the garlic shrimp - they're incredibly fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and efficient, making for a delightful dining experience.
A cozy little joint tucked in a corner in Toronto. Very welcoming host and wait staff. Food was great - we ordered veg Paella along with other Spanish items. They tasted very authentic. Paella has room for improvement. Also, more vegetarian options could be featured in the menu. The kitchen is live kitchen and the chef was very approachable.
La Paella is a cute date spot with a lot of Spanish culture and cuisine up for grabs in Leslieville. We got some tapas and they were great, but the star of the show is obviously the Paella. The seafood Paella… is ok. Our expectations were high for two reasons: the price and the great reviews. We even had a friend from Spain say it was the most authentic Paella they had in Toronto. They aren’t wrong, the components are authentic and it’s no question that the kitchen is staffed with experienced Spanish cooks! I think for 39 a person is where the speed bumps started. As we waited patiently for our Paella to be finished we enjoyed the ambiance and busy kitchen. Once it came, we hit our next speed bump, the fish. The fish on the Paella consisted of: monk, shrimp, clams, mussels, and squid. Most of the fish was over cooked and the squid had bits of cartilage in it. The nice big prawn on top wasn’t even deveined. I was shocked that for 80 dollars we were presented with such little fish that wasn’t cooked accurately or cleaned. It’s the type of finesse I think anyone can expect at this price point.
Great service. We got Paella de Mariscos. The portions are for two. The server did let us know and she was right. It was fresh. We also got the Gambas il ajillo. Really good. And to start we had the Iberian ham with Machengo cheese and quince jam.
Great atmosphere and decor, I felt like I was in a restaurant in Spain. The staff were also very kind and the house white wine was tasty. The food, although tasty, was not mind blowing or worth the price. I would go back if it wasn't so expensive or if they improved their vegetarian options (total before tip was approx $210 for 3 people). If you eat meat, then maybe you'll have a different experience. Also, it was my birthday, which the staff were told when my partner made the booking. The dessert we ordered came served normally, whereas a few minutes later our neighbouring table had theirs with a candle, a birthday message written on the plate, and they all sang happy birthday. This was pretty disappointing. For food: - Olives: delicious! - Mushrooms: delicious, but basically just cooked in butter and definitely not worth $18. could have been so much better if it had more flavour and creativity. - Patatas Bravas: tasty and different than the normal Spanish style I had everywhere in Spain. A little spicy so we got more of the mayo to tone them down. - Vegetarian Paella: this was delicious, but very disappointing and absolutely not worth $32/person (approx $100 for three people!!!). It was not big enough for the cost or different than just a basic tomato rice with vegetables that I could make at home. - Almond tart: Very good! Not super sweet, which I liked! - Unfortunately the croquettes and empanadillas yesterday had meat in them, which was pretty unfortunate for our group since that left us with less appetizer options than what we hoped for. TLDR; Overall, I left happy with the food although not blown away, a bit disappointed about them not noting down my birthday, and definitely wish we didn't pay so much money for what we got.
Enjoyed our food for sure and such a lovely place but I think they could have cleaned the claims more thoroughly as most of them contains sand.
The seafood paella was incredible! This is a small place, so you’ll need reservations for sure. We started with the freshest bread, gorgeous olives and a salad. These portions were very generous and probably could have fed 4 people and not 2. We even went home with some olives and bread because it was too good to waste. The seafood paella was the perfect portion and we ate every morsel. Absolutely fantastic!!
We had the absolute pleasure of dining here yesterday evening. The service, atmosphere, and food were exceptional. Upon entering the restaurant, you feel as if you have been transported to someplace entirely different. The brick walls are washed in white which allows for the beautifully coloured accent pieces to pop. The tapas and paella were sublime. Make sure to try the croquettes. You won't be disappointed. Our server graciously ended our meal with a dessert liqueur on the house. Thank you again for a fabulous dining experience!
Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I specifically was looking to satisfy my craving for paella. Having tried it on my trips in the south, it s the kind of dish you never forget about. I would say I was not disappointed. Now this is a very Resturant friendly version of the Pella, however, the final product had seafood, almost perfectly cooked and a flavourful al dente rice. The calamari pieces were quite chunky so I would ve appreciated bite-size friendly pieces. It is a bit pricey but have to say well executed. They ve got a system going and it works. I enjoyed immersing myself in Spanish music, decor and cuisine. Service was irreproachable until it was time for me to wrap up and leave. The waitresses got a bit distracted and busy so I just walked myself over to the cash to settle the bill and leave. I do recommend
Amazing food paired with an amazing wine list
I didn t take many photos of the food tonight because I was enjoying the amazing food
Paella was great alongside their other offerings. Cute spot to have a date at. Only thing that didnt make dining here a 5/5 experience were the small portion sizes. I get that its tapas, but the paella comes out very thin on the pan considering the price tag. We left hungry, so definitely have something to eat before coming here.
Nice atmosphere, food and decoration! The best paella in Toronto.
- shrimp ok - calamari perfect! - chicken paella, salty 85+ Food : 3/5 |
Had a fantastic dinner here. Very friendly service.
The best chef in the country
Cozy little family run restaurant, serving traditional Spanish fare. Tapas plates were well executed, came at a good pace and were decently portioned. We had the Paella Valenciana as our paella option, which was delicious, only slight improvement would be we wish we had a bit more socarrat on the rice (although, there was lots). Staff were friendly. We will be back.
Nice restaurant for a good time, very well done cuisine and courteous service. Very good value for money.
I love the chicken paella, it s so excellent!!!!!
We were very excited to try this restaurant out since we had been craving a Paella for a long time. The restaurant is beautiful and it truly feels like you are in Spain. The service was also wonderful, but the food not so much. Unfortunately the experience we took away wasnt the one we were hoping for. We ordered the seafood paella which cost about $39 per person(we were 4 so it came up to $156 for the paella alone). We were expecting much more rice, shrimp, and fish in the Paella if it was going to be this expensive. We ended up receiving the Paella with a thin layer of rice and the seafood was mostly mussels and squid. The rice at the bottom of the Paella was also burnt in our opinion, but we were told by the waiter that this was called socarrat and it was where all the flavour was. For us it just tasted like burnt rice. Divided between the 4 of us the paella portion per person could barley fill a small plate. The Paella was definitely not worth $156, and for this price we expected much much more. For anyone thinking about going to this restaurant maybe order another menu item and perhaps youll have better luck.
We had a delightful server. Paella was just the right balance of rice and sea food for two people to share with a side. It was just perfect! Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. And an outdoor patio with a roof for non muggy days!
I was trying to convince my girlfriend to move to Valencia with me, and after the Patatas Bravas and Paella Valenciana (with chicken only cuz i had a pet rabbit) the case was closed. Thank you so much La Paella, you even gave us free dessert because we couldnt figure out what we wanted!!
A BIG Thank You to the staff at La Paella - your kindness was much appreciated! Without being asked, you provided ice and water for the badly injured bicyclist. This was very helpful while we waited for the ambulance. I have not eaten at your establishment as I am from out of town but I will definitely be doing so in the future. Thank you, again!
Beautiful restaurant, incredible service Nd deliciously authentic food! My new favorite spot, thank you for such an incredible experience!
Great spot! Rivaled anything Ive had in Spain
Incredible paella with generous portions. Cannot go wrong here with friendly service.
Great food and amazing Sangria!!! The space is also so intimate and beautiful.
Very enjoyable night! Great food, great service! Calamari and the paella were our favourites!
A taste of Spain in Toronto.
I will comeback! Always!
The Paella Negra was to die for! Seafood perfectly cooked and all the flavours were incredible. Plus , the small dollops of garlic aioli were a unique and yummy addition. We sat at the bar and our server was a sweet woman who was attentive and kind. House wine was also well priced and a glass paired perfectly with the paella. A dinner on the pricier side but worth it as a treat! All in all, an incredible first experience and most definitely will be back!
Hard to get a reservation bc of the size of the restaurant. However, its worth the wait. The food was excellent. Service was even better.
We actually liked their tapas dishes more than their paella. Everything we had was fresh and flavourful. Its a very cute space, with a fantastic side patio. Had fun!
The paella was super salty, extremely salty. I don t know why it was so salty. The young waiter had a bad attitude and was very disrespectful. When I gave her feedback, I pretended I couldn t hear it and complained to other waiters. Never thought I would be treated like this. Its really outrageous.
The food is good but the paella isnt real paella. Its made hurriedly and as a result, theres no soccarat - which is the best part of a paella, the crusty rice base.
One of the best culinary experience in Toronto, the food was amazing, great selection of spanish wines and the service outstanding !!!! Ana was our host, she is lovely. Thank you so much Dietary restrictions: They will adapt the dishes to your necessities
Not a very happy experience in general. The place looks cozy and cool, we arrived early than our reservations but were asked to leave around 1hr 20 minutes time. The table reservation is messed up and we had to move to a fully occupied bar or leave I guess. First time trying paella for me, and I might don t fully understand how it works, but the seafood with monkfish one, every bite of rice I took has some sort of sand in it and I can feel it with my teeth. The olives and the omelet were quite good, though I m not sure if it s either me dropping a hair to the olives bowl or it comes with it. It might be a bit overpriced with the quality of food I think
The seafood paella was delicious! Really enjoyed it!
Highly recommended. We three shared four dishes and a paella. Staff were so very friendly, and the chef is pumping out very delicious food. Try lots of dishes.
Authentic and delicious food, Great atmosphere and service, Will return.
Amazing restaurant. Food is great, vibe is great, and everyone is so nice. Couldn t recommend more!
Their Paella is the heartbeat of the menu. Chef was also gracious enough to show how our Paella order is being prepared. Atmosphere is great too.
We had a long time trying to go to this place, but on weekends and the work hours didnt match our search time. So we could go on a weekday, Wednesday. The service was impeccable. The space is very clean and well decorated. We asked for two Paellas, one with rabbit and the other w/ chicken and shrimp. The portions are good in size, each serves two people, but for how they are and their ingredients I thought they were very expensive. For my taste, the rice was a bit undercooked, and the rabbit was a bit hard.
Authentic spanish food here! Food was amazing, we will definitely return AMAZING Spanish Croquettes Food : 5/5
The Lamb, Pork and Fish cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and absolutely the best meal we had; we loved. My compliments to the chef! Exceptional cuisine!! The service is unmatched; servers were great, happy, polite and always efficient. They made us fell welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Thank you for a great evening out and a fantastic Holidays Celebration!!
Food is really good. Paella is excellent. Restaurant is best experienced with 4 or more people because its expensive. 4 people allowed you to shared the paella and other tapas. 4/5 because its expensive.
Fresh, delicious, and authentic Spanish food. There are daily specials on top of their regular menu so ask to see what they are serving for the day. The portions are for sharing. The service is excellent with attentive staff and a very engaging manager that will explain each dish to you.
We had the paella negra and it was excellent and authentic. The starters (clams, shrimp, mushrooms) were good but priced aggressively, as was the wine list. This was our first time and the FOH frankly was not great, but it may just have been an off night. I wouldnt let it stop me from going back. Overall, I would recommend this place mainly if you already know and love paella.
It s always an amazing experience dining at La Paella. The food is always on point and the staff goes over and above to make you feel at home. I highly recommend coming here and experience it for yourselves. Vegetarian options: There is a vegetable Paella and possibly a couple of tapas as well.
The tapas before the Paella were great. I was disappointed with the Paella. It was lack luster in taste and the seafood/chicken quantity was very scarce.
Dining at La Paella was a very pleasant experience. The ambience was inviting, staff were super friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to Spanish cuisine lovers!
I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and they never fail to deliver. The food is unbelievable and very authentic in a lovely setting. The waitstaff are all outstandingly nice and helpful. 1000% would recommend.
Visited La Paella with my boyfriend for Valentines Day and we had an amazing experience. This was my first time trying seafood paella and it did not disappoint! The tapas & wine pairings were also unbelievable and felt authentic to Spanish cuisine. All staff were extremely kind, welcoming and attentive to each guest. We will definitely be coming back to this Leslieville staple!
Great place to have a long and relaxing dinner with friends and family. Reserve when you can and try to decide ahead of time what paella you ll get. It takes a while to prepare. The tapas selection is great to eat slowly in time for the paella to arrive. The service was very good too. They recommended dishes and timed them as they brought them out so we could enjoy each dish, chit chat, and ultimately enjoy the night. Would definitely go back.
Amazing Spanish food and ambiance. The staff is very friendly, make you feel at home. I highly recommend!
Good food and nice people
Great atmosphere, great food, great service
Celebrated a birthday here in March.....what a fabulous experience!! Everything was exceptional from the food to the service. The restaurant is extremely clean, the staff very welcoming and friendly and the food is worth every penny. We started with a wonderful salad, then the flambé shrimp, spanish olives and then one of the seafood paellas. All were exceptional. Reservations strongly recommended. Will definitely be back! Special thanks for the wonderful service to Dulce. Vegetarian options: There is a vegetable paella available. Parking: Parking available on street in front
Have to book reservation one week in advance. Food was tasty but our paella was undercooked and stomachs didn t feel well afterwards.
By far, the best authentic Spanish cuisine in Toronto that we have ever experienced. The staff made our dinning perfect sharing their own story about La Bella Espania and those round of cherry shooters.Thank you for that perfect night Daniel and staff!
A very quaint and intimate restaurant. I came here a week after my trip to Spain cause I wanted Paella. This place did not disappoint. Extensive and varied menu all beautifully executed. Highly recommend!
Such an amazing restaurant with great ambiance! Highly recommend you get the oyster mushrooms (and the veggie paella was great!) Great selection of wines too
This place is top notch. My partner and I decided to spend one of our Saturday night date nights here and it quickly turned into one of the best nights out we ve had in Toronto! We were instantly transported to Spain. The food, service, and atmosphere are 10/10. LOVED the sangria! Thanks for the great night!
What an awesome Toronto must-visit spot! The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, intimate but lively and the food was 10/10. We had some delicious beef cheeks to start and was told to have the tomahawk steak paella still thinking about that steak. Kudos to Daniel our sever who kept the wine coming and took great care of the group. Would 100% recommend and I ll be back again, cheers.
The best Spanish wines you ll find in Toronto with the best servers. Great options for vegans and carnivores. Will go many times more
The food here is very delicious and staff were friendly. Definitely a must try
Entering this place gave me the feeling as if I had entered a restaurant in Barcelona! The Paella was even more delicious and fresher than what I had had in Barcelona! I suggest sitting at the bar to see how theyre making the food and also chat with the SUPER FRIENDLY staff! We ordered Paella Valenciana! And IT WAS AWESOME!!! The Sangria was also amazing, with lots of fresh fuits and awesome red wine. The olives tapas was also excellent. The movie on the TV, walks through Cordoba Spain, which makes the ambiance perfect while having the food!
Overall, great restaurant! Very authentic Spanish food, beautiful space makes you feel like youre in Spain!
Cheerful little Spanish restaurant turning out great food. Nice and bright location, open kitchen with colourful jugs and flatware. Good variety of little plates to share. Our paella was cooked just right, not too dry, lots of ingredients and very flavourful. Theres still plenty that I havent tried and would go back again!
We enjoyed the ambiance and felt very relaxed. The staff were friendly. However we were disappointed with the food especially for the price we paid: Seafood paella - rice and seafood were undercooked and the portion was small for two people. Therefore we also ordered the oxtail crepe; this was very flavourful and we needed to eat it with bread which was stale.
Really one of a kind! Ok, I m European, but this people and this place is something you should try. It seems like among all the tables, all they care about is you and how much of a good time you re having. They check on you and find the best time to serve everything. And they really look like they c care a lot. I wish I knew before that they are so accommodating for dietary restrictions (I am vegan and they were very much fine with it). I m totally going back a lot more often! Highly recommended!
As a food enthusiast and a lover of Spanish cuisine. My experience at La Paella was exceptional. The delicious paella, warm ambiance, and attentive service made it a memorable dining experience. Its a perfect spot for paella lovers and those looking to indulge in authentic Spanish cuisine in Toronto.
Tasty and amazing quality, freshly made in front of you!! The cleanest restaurant I ve been to!! An experience not just a meal!!
Perfect with great service!!!
Truly fabulous restaurant! Beautiful Spanish interior design, true Spanish cuisine (the paella is delicious), and the people working there are very kind and sincere. Especially Adelise, such a wonderful young lady! Thanks to all the team for this great experience. One of the best restaurants of Toronto. We ll be back for Christmas!
Highly recommend for anyone wanting flavorful, warm and homey Spanish food. A lot of the foods are shareable and the ambience was nice. If you d like a quieter room make sure to reserve ahead of time for the back room. The staff were also incredibly friendly. In terms of food, everything we ordered was delicious. However, Paella Valenciana definitely was the star of the dish. I loved how soft the calamari was, and the rice. It s like a warm hug with each bite. A dish I didn t expect that was also fantastic was the braised short rib(costillas de res breseadas). The meat was so soft and tender literally came off the bone.
Great experience overall. Tapas were all fantastic, with the calamari and shrimps being the stars of the show. One star down for the Valencia (seafood) paella which was good, but not as good as my memories of Spain (which isnt all that surprising, but just to temper your expectations).
Maybe it s me but the food was very bland. My gf and I got the octopus, ox tail crepes and the seafood paella. While, the food is very fresh but the taste was really not for me. The sauce for the ox tail was bland and tasted like metallic, I m not sure what it was trying to resemble. The paella was the highly anticipated but fell short. I will admit, I ve never had it before and maybe that s the way it s supposed to be made but the rice was not done. It was still uncooked in the center and again very bland. The place was very clean, probably one of the cleanest restaurants I ve been in Toronto. The service is to be expected at 100pp.
Great Leslieville eatery! This time we went tapas and it was delicious!
Omg was this the best paella I ve had in years!! The service the food , absolutely top notch. A hidden gem in Leslieville if you re looking to have a nice dinner with friends. We had booked in advance and were seated in the rooms behind the bar counter. The appetizers were all so good. However the show stopper was the paella . Delicious and taste amazing! You need to definitely try it if you are coming here.
Not sure that I can find any short coming with this place, food is delicious and the service is personal and friendly. We had the octopus, clams and the seafood paella, simply delicious. Highly recommend
Lucky to have real Spanish taste here in Toronto
Very authentic
Best Spanish restraint in the city hands down. Do yourself a favour and pop in
Great food and drink, highly recommend
My fiance and I absolutely love coming here. Dolce, Daniel and Adelisse treat us like family every time! Not to mention the food is off the charts wonderful! We couldnt say enough positive things about this beautiful restaurant.
Best Spanish experience in Toronto
Good. Have had better. We weren t blown away by anything. Service was good, and we really enjoyed our dinner. None of the things we ordered had us wanting to go back. Food
Very tasty paella!
Wonderful little spot in Leslieville. Service was excellent, such a welcoming and warm atmosphere. The food was also absolutely delicious and the drinks . Best espresso martini I have had, and sangria was up there too!! Heads up the sangria pitcher is quite large haha!
My friends and I had such a great time here, the shrimp and oyster mushrooms were our favourite! The owner was so sweet and made sure my friends and I felt welcomed. So glad we got the chance to try this place and will definitely be coming back!
Best Spanish food I have ever had. Highly recommend pollo Al ajillo, oyster mushroom, patatas bravas, clams in wine sauce, and the bread is amazing. Gambas shrimp is too salty though. Also the sangria is so refreshing, and it is not too sweet which is so perfect
Great service amazing food Vegetarian options: Paella Food : 5/5 |
Our experience was mixed. It had been made very clear to us not to be late or wed loose our deposit. Which means you show up a little early - 7 minutes early - but that apparently was a no-no too. The waitress made a big production of pointing out our table wasnt ready and started setting it. Except it wasnt our table she was setting. Ours had been ready after all. She must have had a bad night though as service was grumpy throughout and she only paid attention to the two men in our party, ignoring our wives. That said, the food was mostly good and we enjoyed trying new things. The wines were good and unusual too. I do have a philosophical issue having to pay $80 per person for paella - where do they get off? - especially because it wasnt anything special and some of the seafood overcooked. The final nail in the coffin was that it was made very clear we had to leave - it wasnt very late - but they started cleaning tables and putting chairs away which made it uncomfortable.
The most authentic Spanish food in Toronto. They have the paella with the right rice (should never be fully cooked and they did great!), delicious appetizers (I thought the portion would be a lot smaller but oh dear that is pretty decent amount), and good sherry wine. They clam and chorizo a Jerez is superb. The chef are all Spanish, and they cook the paella in the open kitchen. The interior decoration is also full of thoughts. And they have patio! Definitely will come back, very nice place for a special occasion.
One word: overpriced
The best spanish food in canada. The wine celler outstanding. The relation price-quality better than the restaurants in toronto. We were 4 and we have a great experience. Thanks
Attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere, fantastic paella.
Enjoyed some amazing cocktails, wine, tapas, and paella last night. The server, bartender, and cooks were all extremely welcoming and provided perfect service.
Had an amazing dinner at La Paella! Can t wait to go back and try more of the delicious tapas!
1000/10. Daniel and his team provide stellar hospitality and excellent food and beverages. The quality is immaculate whether you are addressing an appetizer, a main or a cocktail.
Fantastic place for a date night or special occasion. Food was perfect and authentic
My husband surprised me for my 40th birthday and brought us here for dinner. We always love celebrating our milestones at La Paella. The tomahawk paella is delicious. The entire staff and service is always top notch.
Everything was perfect at dinner last night. The food was fantastic and Daniel (the owner) treated the 5 of us like family. Its rare to see such passion by a restauranteur these days. Highly recommended.
The food was good and the service great, if only they had a different kind of music it would be better! I was expecting Spanish music with a soft guitar for that type of restaurant !
Our first time at this Spanish restaurant on Queen Street East.Everything we ordered was tasty but we ordered too much for the three of us. We will eat there again and pay more attention to ordering Parking: Parking on side streets is free but hard to find. Parking metered in front of restaurant
Authentic food, great service
My girlfriends and I stumbled in here on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to be seated at the bar (sans reso). The overall experience was AMAZING. The service was next level - the staff were super hands on and overall just so nice and kind. The food was delicious and really authentic. We had the paella, as well as apps & dessert, and nothing was a miss. Super excited to go back soon!!
Pretty standard Nothing spectacular I wouldnt return Something expensive
Very cute little date spot. The food and wine was excellent. Great Spanish joint and the paella was well cooked. Rice was under, as it should be. Decent price point too.
I ve been here 8 times (and counting) in total and have not been disappointed once. Cannot say enough good things about Daniel and the staff at La Paella who have taken great care of us every time we come here. My opinion the best Spanish food in the city with very homey decor.
I went for my wife bday and i was blow away for the environment in that place so nicely i enjoyed so much i want to go before this year end
Little Gem for Spanish food that serves family style. Absolutely love. Will book for my birthday here! Who doesn t want to feel home meals
The best Spanish restaurant I ve been to in Toronto! We had the empanadas, calamari and a paella and everything exceeded our expectations. Amazing service and great atmosphere. 10/10
Loved the apps and the sangria. The paella lacked the crust though.
My best friend and I went to La Paella for my Birthday dinner. The environment was very chill with cool decor. Food was mediocre at best. The paella was ok and not that flavourful. Rice had to be cooked longer. Nothing stood out for us in terms of dish wise. I ve had better paella elsewhere. The pimento peppers with beef cheeks was mushy and the empanadas was nothing special. The service was fine when we ordered our food but as we re ordering our dessert for my Birthday the server told us our 2 hours is up and we can t order dessert and she needed the table back and for us to leave. I understand during Covid there was a time restriction with the amount of food we ordered and money spent it was so rude to kick us out!! They knew it was my birthday too!! What a bad experience, I have never been told to leave a restaurant in the middle of ordering dessert. Never coming back not just due to the rude service but also food being mediocre.
This place is OUTSTANDING! We stumbled upon it one Wednesday night--to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. We went off of Chefs recommendations (ordered the salad, the croquettes, the shrimp, and the olives to start) and then went for the steak paella as our main. Oh. my. god. Our mouths wouldnt stop watering and the portions are so big! Wine was crisp, waiter was attentive and stomachs were happy. I would recommend this place to everyone, but I feel like I want to keep this hidden gem to myself. JK but seriously go here.
The flavor is great, its really cool
We just left 20 minutes ago and already I can t wait to go back. Great service, perfect atmosphere and incredible food. We had a salad, empanadillas and paella valenciana. Our server recommended a perfect wine, too. Very comfortable place and they don t rush you out.
I love here. I went with my bf and the place is very cute. Service is nice too! The food was very good. I m like a paella person and this place is the right place to eat perfect paella!!! I m definitely to go here again.
Last night was our fourth experience with this restaurant (two dine-ins, and two take-outs), and it was amazing as usual. We had two starters... the croquettes are not to be missed, and the mushrooms, which were also excellent..plus the waiter brought us some truffle potato chips which were to die for, and excellent bread...all followed by a valenciana paella for four, and it was outstanding... we shared two desserts... a goat cheese cheesecake with a pistachio sauce, and homemade chocolate bars, and they were the perfect way to end this fabulous meal
Having lived in Spain for 10 years, we have been searching for an authentic Spanish restaurant for awhile. Nothing we ordered disappointed us as they were traditional and full of familiar flavors. Only thing different were the sizes of the tapas which were larger then expected. We ordered 6 for two of us with a paella negra which most ended up as our breakfast and lunch the next day. Everything we ordered was great but the pulpo, gambas, tortilla and the stuffed mussels nailed it. Great service and just overall great vibe.
Like the vibe and also the food is good but think its too pricy. House sherry was my least favourite. Overall great place to try out
I have eaten here several times and tried every one of the Paellas. Service is always excellent, warm, and personable. The food is absolutely delicious and top quality. They are very good about making sure everything is gluten-free and safe for me.
We visited La Paella as a group of four on a weekday evening and tried to taste as much as possible! Our favorite was definitely the paella with seafood! Oxtail and chorizo was also good followed by the octopus. The place also gas a decent wine selection we tried the Los Picos and loved it! Service was fast too!
Excellent food, really great Spanish wines, very good service.
This restaurant is a must try! It didn t disappoint. You can t leave the restaurant without trying the croquetas. Everything was fresh, the servers were very friendly and the restaurant was clean.
Amazing overall experience, food is delicious (perfect size for 2-3 people), staff were super friendly, good price for the quality of the dishes, will 100% be coming again
Amazing , friendly and absolutely DELICIOUS!
Not a true Spanish meal, way over priced for what out was!
The tapas here are incredible. We had a seat at the bar and we were able to watch all the food being prepared, as well as interacting with all the staff who are all so kind. The decor is beautiful and everyone made us feel very welcome. It was a warm environment and of course the food is outstanding. You can t go wrong. 10/10 experience.
Delicious food and great service. We enjoyed several dishes such as calamari, roasted peppers with beef cheeks and of course seafood paella. Loved every dish and also enjoyed some red wine sangria. Highly recommend this quaint place.
Little gem located on Queen East in Toronto! Totally recommend this spot, the Paella was excellent made with fresh ingredients. The red wine selection/list was proper but my favourite was the Licor 43 (Spanish liqueur) to help with digestion. The service was on point and the owner was super nice...a must try spot in the GTA!
Everything we had from the appetizers to the dessert was terrific. The fried calamari was perfect, crispy and moist! The paella was perfectly seasoned and the seafood was nicely cooked. I will be going back to La Paella soon!
Not horrible but not worth $80 for a Paella. It says for two but if you are both hungry it wont be enough and I am not even the biggest eater. The Paella tastes fresh and has good flavours but is not worth the premium price point.
Service was impeccable! Daniel is a rock star and always treats us like royalty! Food was fabulous as always! Top notch restaurant!!
Fantastic food, great ambiance and friendly staff. Four of us attended for dinner and had the following: - PATATAS BRAVAS - Fried potatoes with spicy sauce - Potatoes were simple but the sauce was very flavourful. Good portion. - PIMIENTOS RELLENOS - Sweet pimientos del piquillo stuffed with beef cheeks - great flavour and sauce is delicious esp with the house bread. - PULPO A LA GALLEGA - Galician style boiled octopus with olive oil and sea salt - delicious and simple. The octopus was perfectly cooked and sprinkled with smoked paprika and salt. Could have used more sea salt in my opinion. - GAMBAS AL AJILLO - Sauteed garlic shrimp in Spanish olive oil and a touch of Manzanilla wine - AMAZING. We could have eaten several plates of this. The sliced garlic was also delicious. - PAELLA VALENCIANA - Chicken, Spanish chorizo, Jamon Serrano, calamari, shrimp, mussels and piquillo peppers - Delicious tomato and seafood flavours. Fresh mussels, calamari and shrimp. The only overcooked item was actually the chicken which was a bit of a let down but overall fantastic. We upgraded to a 3 person portion (standard is 2). Would definitely recommend the tapas plates as they are good portion sizes. The paella was great but somewhat overpriced in my opinion. Definitely all delicious food and will be back for another visit.
Had a great pleasure to drop by for a dinner last Monday. Cannot describe how glad I was when I tried the Paella here first time. The service was absolutely fantastic.
Daniel will make your experience incredible. Best place to go in the city for Spanish tapas and paella.
La Paella has been on our must try list for some time now and we finally had the chance to have dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious, the service outstanding and Daniel was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We ordered the MARINATED OLIVES, PULPO A LA GALLEGA (octopus), CACHOPO, PAELLA DE CONEJO and the RICE PUDDING. Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented - we enjoyed every bite. This is by far the best Spanish restaurant I have been to in the GTA - we will definitely be going back.
Food and service were amazing. Shout out to Daniel our waiter who gave us some great reccomendations for food, drinks and places to visit for our upcoming honeymoon to Spain. Best option for paella/Spanish food on the east end, definitely worth it!
Amazing food and the service is always great! Gotta try the chili oil with the paella - not too spicy but super fragrant.
We came across this gem on a Thursday night and thought we tried it out. We were not disappointed! Service was fantastic and the tapas and paella were the best weve ever had. We will be for more! (Pictured, paella Valenciana for 2!)
My new favourite restaurant. It felt like the owners were hosting us In Their home
Lovely staff, nice music, great rabbit paella!
Came here with my partner, lovely servers and had a pleasant time. The food we ordered off the tapas/raciones menu were excellent. Highly recommend the bienmesabe Andaluz (deep fried sea bass). We were excited for the seafood paella (paella de mariscos) and the flavours were great though the rice was underdone. For $80, the paella was not as much of a hit for us compared to the tasty tapas menu. We had a great time and will be back to try more of the tapas!
Great eatery for our family. Seating inside is slightly higher costs than outside, which may be challenging for kids. Reservations recommended to get patio seating. Food was amazing with our dinner consisting of croquettes, calamari and squid ink paella. Delicious!
Very expensive for what it is. Rice and a sample of seafood. Portions are small , come on after all it s just rice
The service and ambiance was great. The complimentary warm bread with oil was tasty but slightly too salty. The CROQUETAS and PULPO A LA GALLEGA (octopus) were great! The deep fried steak with Jamon were very interesting but the peppers on top were too sweet to my liking. PIMIENTOS RELLENOS tasted good but the peppers were too soft and the beef tonque was too mushy. There should have been some textile in this dish. Overall, the food was great but a bit too overpriced or it would have been a 5 star experience. Parking: Plenty of free parking on the side streets off Queen East Kid-friendliness: It was quite kid friendly.
Ok, that was fun! The four of us chose to share one paella (meant for two) and as many tapas as we had room for. They were all easy to share between four people. Everything was very tasty and the presentation was so appetizing. Will definitely be back! Afterwards, we strolled westbound down Queen East, quite lively on a summer night!
The paella is really worth a try
Delicious food, the squid ink paella was amazing. Tapas were great too. Make sure you make a reservation before going!
Overpriced, I got the rabbit paella which was supposed to bring chorizo and the whole paella (for 2 people for $75) only had a tiny piece.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at La Paella. It was a wonderful experience. The food was authentic, the ambiance inviting and the staff very attentive and helpful. Daniel made sure that our experience was memorable. We will be taking friends and family back to this jewel!
We had an excellent dinner there. Foods are very fresh and delicious. Seafoods are extremely fresh!!! Services are very hospitable and warm. Definitely we will come back!
Amazing food and service! The Paella is incredible as are the apps - especially the mushrooms. This is my now favourite restaurant!
Last evening was our anniversary. The meal was excellent The whole vibe of the place was perfect. Congratulations on everyone who has a part in running the fine restaurant , cant wait to visit again Thank you so much
A wonderful night on the patio with great service from Jessika. All appetizers were delicious but resist the temptation to order one more as you will want to save room for a paella. If you do order a number of appetizers/tapas, consider paella for 2 with 4 patrons. We had it for 3 and still struggled to finish. Note: if you want paella it is a 40 minute prep time, so place your order, savour your tapas and enjoy your wine...
Phenomenal Spanish cuisine. The Gambas al Ajillo and Paella Valenciana were authentic and flavourful. Ensure to make a reservation beforehand - we were unable to but fortunately were seated at the bar (in my opinion, the best seats in the house). Have been here a few times previously and will continue to visit.
Amazing experience! Lovely staff, authentic spanish cuisine! Highly recommend the truffle tortilla and the paella de mariscos
Ive been wanting to try this place for a year now so I finally trekked to the east end and made my way there. We didnt have a reservation but luckily we came at the right time because there was a table available. Highly suggest making a reservation in advance because this place is small and busy. I havent found any place that makes paella like I had in Spain till I found this place. The flavours are authentic and just amazing! I love that the veggie paella was vegan so I could have it and the olives were very tasty as well. The only con Is the prices are high here. Its definetly a place you go with others and share. Would love to come back again Vegetarian options: Vegan paella is amazingggg
Weve had take outs from La Paella for years, but tonight was the first time we actually sat down and ate at the restaurant. It has been fabulous. Five starters and two paella across seven people - perfect. My visiting sister in law said it best: best meal I have had in Toronto. Well be back
I guess my expectations were too high. Saw the paella for 2 was $80 which is fine, I figured it must be good then, and large but it wasn t. The paella was wide but soooo thin. One good spoonful and you ve made a solid dent in your $80 paella. The atmosphere is amazing, and it did taste ok. I was just disappointed that I walked away still hungry after paying $100 for 2 people. And I expected more from the flavour, quality, etc. Costco has a more generous and delicious paella in my opinion. Some probably like it but for me I don t think I ll come back. Nice people though.
Came here for the paella. We were pressured to order tapas, as the waitress repeatedly came many times to tell us to order tapas because the paella was going to take 35min. That was not necessary and she should ve respected our original order. Ended up ordering the flambéed chorizo tapa which was dry and over cooked, definitely not worth 18$. What s more the waitress kept spilling our sangria when serving us, without a care to excuse herself. The paella was decent for Toronto standard.
Its hard to say this because the staff are friendly, space is cute, and a nice selection offered on their menu... however, the food/experience was incredibly Underwhelming. Did not taste authentic. Octopus also was bland. Paella was overpriced for the mediocre food. Shellfish didnt taste fresh. Sangria was fine, but it deff wasnt anything amazing. Dont come here with high expectations if you have been to Spain. Personally, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant, nor would I come back.
Delicious food and super friendly service. Will definitely visit again!
Having been in both Barcelona and Ibiza this past summer, I can with CERTAINTY say this wine, food, and atmosphere is better than both! Daniel is the best.
Very nice Paella . They gave me a coconut flan for my birthday too
Good portions, food was great. The only thing that makes it difficult is the reservation process - telephone only during certain times. I would come more often otherwise
The ambiance of the place was very nice. I would recommend you make a reservation. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday evening when I went. The staff was friendly, the food was served pretty prompt (for a paella), and the pricing was fair I think. It is on the more expensive side. The tapas were normal priced I feel. The rice was a tad el Dante for my taste but I still enjoyed it a lot. Definitely closest to what I had in Spain for sure
Excellent service and the most delicious Spanish cuisine! Highly recommend it!
Loved the ambience and service and lets talk about the food. Paella Negra was tasty, but it felt heavier than normal and lacked seafood (see pix) for this price. The platter of Iberico ham and cheese was flavorful and so tender, yummy!. Oxtail crepe was savoury and could have benefitted with more oxtail meat that was overwhelmed by the sauce. . Seared mushrooms in a sherry sauce was ok, but Iike more butter and salt on mine. This is a definite place to try again as I want to see if their other paellas are better.
Great experience. The waitress was super engaged and attentive with us. The squid ink paella was delicious, very salty tho it s acquired taste. Drinks were fantastic. Croquettes and the stuffed peppers were my favourite. Looking forward on coming back.
Higher end $$$, but completely worth it!
I came to La Paella a couple weekends ago to celebrate my anniversary with my partner. We had an absolutely amazing time! We sat at the bar so we were able to see everything in action (which we love - the bar is our favourite spot of any place). We ordered the Crepes de Rabo de Toro, the Gambas al Ajillo, and the tomahawk paella (it was on special that night and the serving size was for two people). The service was fantastic, our server (who s name I might have forgotten, I m so sorry - Dulce?) and the two chefs were attentive and friendly and didn t make me feel like a jerk for wanting to take lots of pictures and videos or our meal (I was very excited about all of the food). We also ordered a bottle of Ramirez de La Piscina Reservation 2016 at the suggestion of our server which we really enjoyed (we are not connoisseurs by any stretch but felt it paired very well with everything we ordered). Overall, the food was delicious the service was wonderful, and the ambience was lovely. Highly recommend!
Went here with a few friends for dinner and we all loved the food! We got the paella de mariscos, jamon iberico and manchego cheese, the tigres, and gambas al ajillo! We left satisfied and will definitely come back for the food and ambience :)
A wonderful experience!. Since we arrive the owner treat us so good , and beside the excellent service the food was AMAZING!. We try the paella mariscos and was perfect !, the empanadas juicy, the dessert taste perfect!. Everything was a great experience. Highly recommend
We have seen your Restaurant in the series Private Eyes (season 4 episode 8) and we have searched for it. Greetings from Alicante (Spain)
Was a walk in and had no expectations. I was on a second date. Was greeted with a super friendly staff who was very kind and patient with us. Food was great but more important your team was awesome. Even (I believe a manager or owner) made a joke as she was dropping off the food as she saw I was nervous on the date. Really makes it special when your staff truly care and are friendly. Even came to clarify if I had an allergy as I mentioned I dont eat mushrooms. Thank you!
Excellent service and superb food! I ordered a paella and felt that I was in Spain! And liquor 43 was a pleasure to taste !
Loved the seafood Paella!
Very good paella. Interesting appetizers.
Had a great dinner with a business colleague. Simply asked our server to feed us, and she did. Cozy atmosphere, good food, great service. What more can one want?
Came here on moms birthday dinner. Great experience. Recommend for special occasions.
If you like Spanish food this is the place. Absolutely authentic recipes, techniques and taste. Everything we tried was top notch. The food is truly delicious and the service is fantastic. Gorgeous restaurant too, the decor is a perfect balance of traditional Spanish touches but with a modern fresh vibe. Highly recommended!
The croquetas were delicious. Surprised there were chorizo and other seafood in the Paella Valenciana. The portion is a bit small for an $80 paella. Service was very good and I loved decor.
