Celebrating my birthday at Barberian’s Steak House was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance exuded classic charm, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. Our server, though new, was exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring our night was seamless. The culinary highlights were the expertly prepared lamb and steaks, each bite showcasing the restaurant’s dedication to quality. The cocktails were crafted with precision, complementing our meals beautifully. A delightful surprise was receiving a bottle of their signature steak seasoning—a blend so flavorful that it’s become a staple in my kitchen. This seasoning, a complex mix of over a dozen ingredients including sea salts, garlic, onion, and fine herbs, has been used in their restaurant since 1959. It’s so versatile and delicious that I’ve found myself adding it to almost every dish I prepare at home. Barberian’s Steak House not only provided a fantastic birthday dinner but also left me with a culinary gift that keeps on giving. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this Toronto gem.

An unforgettable dining experience! The food and wine at this steakhouse were absolutely amazing. I ordered the prime rib, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth, with the seasoning enhancing the natural richness of the meat without overpowering it. The portion was generous, too, making it well worth the price. The wine selection is top-notch, with knowledgeable staff who helped me pick the perfect pairing to complement my meal. The ambiance is warm and sophisticated, ideal for a special night out. This place is a true gem for steak lovers and anyone who appreciates a high-quality dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

I cannot be more disappointed by both the food and the service. Got the dry aged bone-in New York strip with [limited] label on the menu. Ordered it in medium well but came closer to medium. Taste wise was very plain and really felt the meat was not up to quality expected. Sautéed mushroom cannot be more salty. Salmon steak came very tasteless. House salad may win in portion but not freshness and flavor. Tried their house red wine, not bad. The staff who served my table came with a whatever attitude.

An absolute necessity if you are looking for a steak house in Toronto. I've been meaning to go for some time but things have held me back. Finally made it with my wonderful wife on her 70th birthday. Service was outstanding, actually not as "formal" as one might imagine. Food was......well perfect. One of the best steaks I have ever had, the 16oz Rib steak. My wife had the 10oz Bacon wrapped fillet. Both cooked to perfection. The wine list is exceptional. Price is, pricey!!!! but as I see this as a once in a lifetime experience. It was worth it!

I recently dined at Barberian’s Steak House and while the steak was exceptional—perfectly cooked and of top-quality—the service didn’t quite match the restaurant’s reputation. Our waiter missed a few items from our order, which affected the overall experience. Despite the minor hiccup, the quality of the meat is definitely a standout. If the service improves, this place could be flawless.

Nice if you're looking for more of a fine dining experience, but like most steakhouses the value for money just isn't quite there for me. Was worth going to once to experience though, as the steaks are cooked really nicely. My 16 oz bone in rib steak was cooked perfectly, albeit a little light on the seasoning. Would not recommend the mashed potatoes as they are an upcharge and honestly was not very good. Service was phenomenal. The gentlemen that work here were very attentive and friendly. They also were nice enough to provide a delicious slice of cheesecake for our friend after they heard it was his birthday. Atmosphere was pretty neat. Nice low key vibe with classic decor.

Worth every dollar. By far the best restaurant I’ve been to, the food and service were exceptional. We tried oysters, escargot, some sort of bacon thing that was delicious, steak, asparagus and garlic bread. Im not exaggerating when I say every single one was spectacular

We had a dinner at Barbarians to celebrate a special occasion and had such a great experience. When we arrived, they gave us a private dining room and a tour of the wine cellar, along with a history lesson on the restaurant. We all started with the Caesar salad, Garlic Bread, and Oysters. The Caesar salad was the best I have had. It comes with a piece of pork, which really elevates the dish. The oysters were amazing. The only downside is that they only come with two garnishes: cocktail sauce and horseradish. The garlic bread was also tasteful, and I highly recommend you start with it and the Caesar salad. For the main dish, I ordered the porterhouse steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions, which was perfectly cooked. The wine selection is very extensive. They even have Magnum bottles, an excellent option if you share wine with four or more people. For dessert, we all had beignets. They were coated in cinnamon sugar and served with ice cream. They had the right amount of sweetness, a great option to cap off a dinner. Overall, this is a great place for special occasions. I’m sure you will have a good experience. The service was top-notch, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere of the building takes you back to 19th-century Europe.

My boyfriend and I decided to dine at Barberian s last night for the first time and it s safe to say we will absolutely return. It came highly recommended and we definitely understand why. The atmosphere was cozy, yet romantic and from the moment you walk in everyone is very attentive. The food was amazing and for me nothing pairs better with a good steak than a nice red wine. Which if you re a wine lover, their menu is beyond impressive and their cellar even more spectacular. Shout out to our server JJ and som Megan for giving us one of our best dining experiences yet! You were both beyond delightful and truly made the experience!

This is one of those iconic and historical places that needs to be on your list....once. Excellent experience but make sure you ask questions of the staff, have them show you around the place, tell you their favorite hosting experience, etc. If you are simply in and out for a nice dinner you either have too much money or dont care about character, charm, and history. For example, the furniture is original - they send portions out to be refurbished/re-upholstered. You are literally sitting in the same seat as famous people (entertainment, politicians, athletes, etc). Make it what it will be and soak it in for a special occasion.

The service left much to be desired. Eric S., our waiter, largely ignored us throughout the dinner service, prioritizing other tables even those seated after us. We weren t even offered water until all the other patrons had been served. Thankfully, his colleagues, who brought our food, were far more attentive and accommodating. Their warm smiles and thoughtful service helped salvage an otherwise disappointing experience. Food Review: - House pickels - It was interesting and it is acquire taste. - Oysters ($4.50 each, 5 pieces per person): Average. They didn t stand out but felt like a splurge moment. - Lobster Bisque ($26): Far too sweet and lacked the savory depth expected. Not something I d order again. - Garlic Bread ($6): Simple but good warm and satisfying. - Chocolate Mousse*($22.50): Delicious and enjoyable, one of the highlights of the meal. - 32 oz Porterhouse Steak ($152): Underwhelming. The steak lacked seasoning and flavor, which was disappointing for a restaurant reputed to have some of the best steaks in Toronto. The accompanying house fries were, as others have said, burnt and cardboard-like in both taste and texture. Eric S. s service was non-existent. He hardly checked on us or asked how our meal was. When it came time to pay, he handed me the payment machine, and I noticed there was no option to leave a tip. When I asked about it, he claimed I must have skipped it. Frankly, if I had skipped it, why would I bring it up? His colleagues were the real heroes of the evening, ensuring our glasses stayed full and suggesting dessert options. Out of respect for their efforts, I left a tip but if it were based solely on Eric s service, I wouldn t have bothered. Perhaps he anticipated his shortcomings and skipped the tip option himself. Eric S., you need to step up your service. Your colleagues saved the experience, but you ve got work to do. As for the restaurant itself, the decor is a nostalgic throwback, which I can appreciate. However, the layout is frustrating. A door stopper on the floor prevents proper exit, and patrons are not allowed to leave through the back. The setup feels unnecessarily inconvenient. Overall, this experience fell short of expectations, especially given the restaurant s reputation and price point.

Chose Barberians for a business dinner. While the food was very good, the service and the attitude of our waiter not only ruined our experience but also made for awkward encounter at times during an executive business dinner. The total was around $2K and we asked to split the bill in two with itemized receipts . This is a request that any restaurants whether Michelin star or fast food will accommodate anywhere. However in this case the attitude and response of our waiter was as if our was request was preposterous. We hand write our bills now I have to use whiteout . Well why don t you guys join us in the millennium and get some digital equipment. It doesn t add to the charm or make it old school believe me. It s just shady. After quite a bit of back and forth and inappropriate questions asked by our waiter we were provided the bill. Needless to say we will never be back. There s simply too many better options with polite respectful service.

I will preface this review by stating that I wanted to attend this steakhouse for a milestone birthday. My good friend, whos frequented most of the steakhouse offerings in this fabulous city, advised me that it was overpriced and the quality of service and food had spiralled post-pandemic. He was NOT wrong. As we were walking into the restaurant, a very well fed looking rat ran in front of us, perhaps a harbinger of things to come You will not be served bread, but a cold dish of pickles, snap peas, and celery. The bar seemed to struggle with the simple concept of a Dirty Martini. My 100.00 steak, I asked to be prepared medium rare, this too posed a challenge as I was served a very very rare steak, the inside of the steak was actually cold. At this point I was now embarrassed for the staff who had to send a steak back, they did not replace the steak, rather, they returned it fully charred on the outside and still rare on the inside. At this point I relegated myself to the fact that my meal was going to be the mediocre baked potato that had accompanied my lonely steak on the plate lacking any vegetable. As this steak was not eaten, I was not charged for it, so I suppose that was a positive? The server seemed mostly concerned with informing me that I was sitting near a table where Richard Burton had proposed to Elizabeth Taylor, unfortunately that trivia lacked lustre for me, I already knew all the lore regarding Barberians, I truly cared more to have an excellent meal to celebrate my 50th trip around the sun and this did not happen. As I write this review the morning after, I find myself feeling both embrassed for this establishment and wondering what has happened to it. There did not seem to be any sort of dress code in place either

Overall, a great place for an intimate meeting, since the interior is quite dark and Cosy. Not for the rowdy crowd.

If youre looking to dine in a piece of Canadian history, the Barbarian Steakhouse is your oyst.... or rather, your perfectly cooked steak. This place is as old as the Dominion of Canada itself, which means the walls have probably seen more Prime Ministers than youve had hot dinners. From A-list celebs to bigwig politicians, everyones been here. You might even spot a famous face or two enjoying their lobster bisque or a juicy, perfectly marbled steak. The staff, whove likely been there since Confederation, will remember your order from your last visit even if it was during the Queen Elizabeth s Coronation. The Barbarian Steakhouse is a time capsule of fine dining. Its a place where the service is impeccable, the food is divine, and the atmosphere is as cozy as a well worn armchair. So, if youre craving a taste of the past, and a really good steak, this is the place to be. Just dont be surprised if your waiter knows your favourite wine and your preferred level of doneness. Parking: Underground parking available Across the street.

NOT what should expected What was supposed to be a special evening at an elegant restaurant was actually major disappointment. All 3 of us said it was by far one of the worst dining experinces weve had. The evening was made unfomfortable by the very loud atmosphere. A conversation at our table of 3 became near impossibe without shouting or leaning across the table. Staff remained oblivious to what was VERY clearly an appearly issue for MANY in the restaurant. A table beside us left in frustration after they had ordered. We were just about to walk out when our entree arrived. At one point we were not even able to hear our waiter standing right beside us!!! Our tried waiter assured us the larger group in the room would be quieter as soon their food arrived, however that wasnt the case and noise would continue. Clearly this is very common for them. The maitred was clearly aware of the problem for us and just chose to ignore it. The baby back ribs were anything but tender and the fries were luke warm. The filet mignon were cooked as we expected and tender. You should expect a superior expereince based on their prices, however this wasnt the case. Not worth the price of admission.... Will NEVER return there again and would STRONLY suggest avoiding Barberians. I was really embarrased I had brought my client and a friend to what was just a horrible evening.

The most utterly classic place to eat downtown. The menu probably hasnt changed in decades and it doesnt need to. Perfect choices. Great French onion soup, cobb salad and the steaks come with baked potatoes that you can load up with bacon sour cream and shredded cheese. The steak is great. The ancient decor is wonderful. Big parties can make the place rowdy but theres a quieter section you could ask to be seated in. A must try.

For a steak house, thankfully they did the steak well enough. My husband and I shared a 16 oz strip loin and it was cooked to our specifications. We ordered shrimp, mushrooms and their crispy spicy brussel sprouts and fries as sides. I ll back up a bit and discuss service. The wait staff seemed bored and dismissive. We had to ask for a wine list. Really? There was no cocktail menu and my cocktail was poorly made. The shrimp (single shrimp as a side) was good according to my husband. The balance of the meal was not. The fries were from frozen and like cardboard. The mushroom side was flavourless. And the crispy spicy brussel sprouts, which I was so looking forward to were neither crispy nor edible but over saturated with Frank s hot sauce. I thought perhaps kitchen staff made an error and I asked for the sprouts to be remade - but no - they served the same inedible dish. I don t know how long a restaurant can survive on its past reputation or its mastery of one dish. Best of luck Barberians. We ll not patronize you again!

Even though I made a reservation, they did not have it in their book. We were sat in the back next to a loud table of 30. The old fashioned, escargot, and steak were mediocre. The fries were terrible. The wine list is incoherent and unapproachable. I tipped accordingly and was chased down by the maître D on our way out.

Unfortunately our server(s) forgot about us after we put in our order. It was my birthday, we waited about 40 minutes before we decided to ask the staff for an update on our food they felt bad and gave us a free top up of wine, but finally, 30 minutes later we were served burnt overcooked steaks which was pretty much the only thing we were looking forward to. The restaurant itself, great atmosphere, and I m sure the service would have been great if they didn t forget about us, they were all very nice people and were very apologetic. However, even with free wine, we still paid double the amount we would have paid at other restaurants where I don t end up with 1.5hrs wait for a burnt steak.

I had been here before years ago and it was really good. This past weekend we were in Toronto and thought we would go again. I ordered a striploin well done and it came medium. Which is fine, I am used to having to send my steak back at most places. Here, I had to send it back twice, and it was still pink inside. The waiter left my french fries at the table, and didnt bring me a new plate. It took 20 extra min for them to cook my steak and by that time my french fries were cold. My husband had already finished his meal so it was not a very enjoyable dinner for us. They did not charge me for my meal which was nice but the whole experience was underwhelming.

My wife and I went for our first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff was very accommodating with our reservation. Our server, Patrick, was charming, affable and generous. The establishment has a nice air of sophistication without pretentiousness. It feels nicer than your average steak place with its immaculate presentation, but it still feels welcoming and accessible to all. It has a charm that most chain steak houses lack. The food was, frankly, amazing. The portions were enormous. We were forewarned the appetizers and sides are easily sharable, which is accurate and appreciated, but we indulged anyway. Everything was excellently presented and prepared. It was very expensive. What we got was high quality - food and service - but its a for a big celebration type of pricey versus lets live a little pricey; at least for our economic situation. I saw another review say it was comparable to The Keg. The Keg is fine, but Barberians Steak House is in a completely different league. Its more of an investment, but it is decidedly a better experience. Parking: Theres a parking deck nearby with very low evening rates. Easy to enter and exit.

First off, the steaks were great. Id give them 10/10. The salads were also quite good, along with the potatoes. The steak tartare, on the other hand, was terrible. That and the side brussel sprouts tasted heavily of vinegar, and both were left basically untouched.., but far worse than that was our server. Usually, the highlight of an old-school steak house for me are the servers.... certainly not this night. I can live without the personality if you can do your job, I had to ask for a wine list 3 separate times (then twice more for the sommelier) as the server rushed by the table... Any competent waitor would have checked on why the app wasnt eaten (being asked would have been enough) and started us with a wine list without acting like it was a chore. This probably would have been 5 stars if we had a different server (so many little things left us scratching our heads) because the steaks really were great, Unfortunately, we didnt, so its not.

Wish I listened to the negative reviews. This place does not live up to the hype. No flavour in the steaks. Caesar salad is very basic. Everything overpriced and the servers are just going through the motions. Server didnt bother to ask if we were celebrating anything, if we have been there before or even ask if we had any questions about the menu. So disappointing. We dont normally go out and spend $300 on dinner for the two of us. We would have liked it to be more special but it is obvious that you dont get that experience here. Only upside was the cheesecake. Extremely disappointed.

We were a party of 4. 45 minutes to get bread (yet every other table got theirs promptly). Over an hour to get steak. Yet tables that showed up 15 minutes after we ordered got their food first. As we had an event to go to after dinner, to speed things up, our waiter decided to present us with the bill before we got any food. Then came back to try and take payment 5 minutes after we finally got our steaks. It seems like he thought we were too broke to afford eating there. I guess POCs get treated differently. Our meal was comped 50%, so that was a positive. Ill just stick to ruth chris or jacobs from now on.

Boorish, overbearing, and unprofessional waiter made a very expensive experience into a really poor one. This waiter has seemingly decided that HIS preferences are most important than those of his guests. From the first interaction, his recommendations felt like a car dealer trying to drive up the bill. When I asked about the differences between two steaks, he had his mind made up on which I would have before I even finished the sentence, ignoring and brushing off my stated concern that I don t like fatty cuts. (When I got the steak I was pressured into, the cut was in fact too fatty for me to enjoy). Similar vibe choosing a side. And you re having the baked potato too. Umm, excuse me, don t I get to choose what I m having? I asked could get brussels sprouts (listed as a side) instead of a baked potato. What do you know, I was presented with and billed for both. (Unwanted potato was allegedly removed after I was forced to ask why he had ignored my request.) Spending over $400 on a meal for two should guarantee a good experience. Here, it did not, and I feel like I wasted my money.

We cant say enough good things about this place. It came as a recommendation from a friend and it was awesome. The steak was annexing and cooked to perfection. The garlic bread was so light and crispy that it was dangerous. The onion rings were a beautiful battered masterpiece. The other sides of French fries and Brussel sprouts were so good. We will revisit Barberians every time we come to Toronto.

Food was some of the finest I ve had in Toronto. Had a sit down with two other family members and we all enjoyed our 16 oz medium rare strip steaks. Had a baked potato with mine and was great. Served with sour cream and cheese on top. Had the croquettes, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and onions everything was great. Our server was a tiny bit rude to us here and there but we just shook it off and didn t think anything of it as being a server especially at this kind of restaurant must be a very stressful pressuring job. For desert had the chocolate mousse house, apple beignet, and vanilla cannoli everything was great and the chocolate mousse house was so cool! Definitely would come back.

Great experience at Barberians Steak House! Ordered a porterhouse steak and it was cooked perfectly. I just wish there would have been more seasoning or there had been more sauce options on the side besides horseradish. We had cesar salad and french fries on the side, both of which were very good and the portion sizes were generous. We shared a chocolate mousse inside a chocolate house for dessert. The dessert was well presented and even though Im not a white chocolate fan, I enjoyed it because the dark chocolate mousse balanced out the sweetness of the white chocolate. Service was great, our waiter was nice and informative. The atmosphere was very cozy and the inside was rustic.

You cannot book reservations on line, very old school. Made reservations over the phone for 4, got there, table for two only. It was my wifes and my 44th wedding anniversary. Found us a table for 4.....beside the loudest most obnoxious group of 7 men. Very Loud and f...bombs flying almost every sentence. We spoke to the manager and he explains the restaurant is naturally loud. In my many years in the music biz, and frequenting the restaurant many many times, it was never that loud or that raunchy. And we had some good times there. Menu is still limited because of covid I guess. The food was overpriced, my porterhouse was done to my liking however many different bone fragments in it. Our friends salmon was done nicely but why, for the exuberant prices, have farm bred salmon and not fresh ocean? Well, I still have good memories of the place, from years ago, but will not be returning. Very disappointing. UPDATE: received a call from the owner the next day, a Mr. Berman, who apologized for the evening and didnt make any excuses, just told me they dropped the ball that night. They are owning the issues and are sending us a free dinner for two. GREAT follow up customer service,. We hope to have a better experience. FURTHER UPDATE, as promised, Mr. Berman sent us the dinner for 4, which also included drinks and wine. The meal was delicious and the service was over the top. We had steak, giant tiger shrimp and our friends had the salmon. It was just like old times, when our company, back in the 70s, would enjoy a great dinner after a show. Thank you Barberians, for the great experience.

After more than 20 years after my first visit, I was reminded why I stayed away for so long. First off what they gave me could barely be considered a porterhouse. It was closer to the t-bone end fo the short loin. And the striploin portion somehow managed to contain most of the big nerve section from the other side of the shortloin. I was served a below average piece of beef that incorporated the negative attributes of both ends of the primal. The lobster cocktail for what it cost was an embarrassment. The highlights were the fries and brussel sprouts. The onion rings were terribly greasy.

April 23, 2024

I came here for a friends birthday. The reservation process was very well organized and professional. Coming in, the group was greeted with kindness and professionalism. Other than that, it was a disappointment of a steakhouse. Im not talking about the prices. The waiter had no clue what Chicago style was and then said he will make it medium rare. I thought to myself, ok, not my preference, but no big deal. A fillet mignon is still good in medium rare. Once the steak arrived, the outside presentation with fries looked basic. I didnt want to judge it until I tried. The fries were soggy and tasteless. And the steak was done in medium. Came out very dry. The waiter tried to argue, saying that it was my fault that I did not have it bacon wrapped (which a proper fillet mignon should never be). I have noticed more unprofessionalism when the waiter kept on bringing the party more drinks than they can handle, even when he was asked to stop bringing more. He listened to the drunk person instead. I truly feel that this place has potential, bu they need to provide additional training to waiters and people making the steaks. I tried the new york strip and the porterhouse which were sub-par as well. The Manhattan on the other side was delicious!

I was craving steak and when I looked up the best steakhouse in Toronto, Barberians came up consistently in every discussion. Having had some mediocre steak in the city, I wanted to see how this classic institution measures up. The verdict? Barberians gets the essentials done right. Get the porterhouse and skip all the appetizers. I wish we shared the porterhouse because at 16oz, it was huge! It took me almost an hour to get through that hunk of meat! The good news is that it was cooked perfectly medium rare like I asked for. The sauce wasnt too heavy and it was seasoned just right. I have absolutely no complaints about the steak. The problem was the appetizer and even the baked potato side. We got the beef tartare and French onion soup. The beef tartare was possibly the worst beef tartare Ive had because of the overwhelming taste of garlic and mustard. You could barely tell it was beef! The egg yolk was also a weird custard-like blob. The French onion soup and baked potato were very pedestrian. The service was excellent, as expected of a fine dining restaurant. The decor was pretty drab though. I know its supposed to be classic but it felt like walking into someones basement. But honestly, I wouldnt mind it too much for how good the steaks are!

My friends and I like to do big dinner once or twice a year to catch up over some great food. I had high hopes for Barbarians but the whole experience was unexpectedly underwhelming. The big win for the restaurant was that the steak was quite good. I had the Aged Rib Steak and it was cooked to a lovely medium rare. Tasted great. Far too expensive, but I get it with COVID inflation and it being a main dish. As well, the Henderson beer was tasty. Sadly, everything else was a letdown. The Baked Potato side was one of the worst potatoes Ive ever ever had. My starter, the French Onion Soup, was flavorless compared to others Ive had in the city and the general presentation of everythihg was sloppy. My friends ordered the shrimp cocktail which oddly came on a metal plate and the rest of the sides we got were boring and very bland considering what we were expecting for both the price and recommendation (Onion Rings, Tartare etc). That said, Im not one to make a fuss about food, so it is what it is, but our table staff is what really made the night a mediocre for me. He looked like hed rather be anywhere else in the world than helping the tables in our area. We had empty cups and dishes on the table for far longer than they should have been there, all while waiting quite a long time for the food to arrive in general. Anytime details were asked for about the menu it was met with a look of why are you asking me this? and it just killed the whole experience every time he came by. Naturally and expectedly, this restaurant also slapped our table of six with an automatic 18% tip, which to this day Ill never really understand. As I said, expected, but that usually means the service will be exceptional. This was not the case at all. You cant force people to tip if youre going to phone it in. Thats not cool. My last gripe is one that I have with a lot of places, so take it with a grain of salt, but absolutely knew that it would be the case here. No split bill. Fine, that happens. Thing is... the resultant that just charged us well over 1K for a meal wont even let us keep the recipt!!! They said wed have to take a picture and sort it out on our own, because they dont allow for customers to take the itemized receipt. That is just straight up madness for a restaurant that could afford an updated POS system after one good week of sales. To top it off, the waiter hit us with the were just old school here as if thats a brag when its at the detriment of customer experience. I wish I had a better time because I was really hoping to, but outside of a great steak, theres not much I can praise from my time here.

1st time trying Barberians after hearing so much about it (and living less than 10min walk from it). It was my partners birthday so I took him there. We ordered Caesar salad, escargot, porterhouse and dry aged rib steak to share. The steaks were the highlight and we both enjoyed the rib steak the best compared to the porterhouse. Mind you, the 24oz porterhouse was still excellent but you cant beat a nicely dry aged steak. The only thing I didnt really care for was the Caesar salad because I know I could make a better dressing from scratch. And for $26, I didnt think it was worth it. Service was attentive but not overbearing. I informed the waiter we are sharing everything so all dishes were already split in half for us when they arrive. Even the side of baked potatoe for 1 steak and fries for the others were split for us. That was unexpected and much appreciated. Although a little pricey, overall it was a great meal and its a place Id go for special occasions.

Each bite of their mouthwatering steak is a culinary delight, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Sadly, my boyfriend and I had the worst experience here and will never go back. My boyfriend took me here for Valentines Day, I expect it to be a little bit busy and overwhelming but to have a rude, condescending waiter with two freezing cold steaks and end up paying $500 is not worth it at all. We had to send both our steaks back because they were cold, mashed potatoes were bland and cold (which you have to pay extra for) and then when the steaks came back again mine was still cold and I was too embarrassed to say anything again as the waiter was not happy. I am utterly shocked at how we were treated, and the food was the most shocking of all considering this has been recommended to us by a lot of people. Would not return, save your money and go somewhere reliable!

Our latest meal did not disappoint, with the staff as dedicated and knowledgeable as ever. Shoutout to Angelo, our server, for being wonderful as always. Also a great spot for larger events and group dining!

Best Steak house in Toronto. I have been going here for over 10 years. Not once have they failed to make a good steak. Excellent quality steaks and great service. You want the best steak house in Toronto this is the place.

New Years Eve dinner with friends. Attentive service at a great pace. Its a steak house so for those who do not eat red meat, dairy and wheat, the options are limited, but I know this and still choose to go. Vegetarian options: Not really anything available. Dietary restrictions: Based on my food intolerances, they were very obliging with making changes to the dishes I considered.

We had a great time at Barberians, the staff treated us like friends and the food was perfectly executed. This is an old school steakhouse in the best way possible. Three of us shared oysters, ceasar salad, beef tartar, 32 ounce porterhouse, tomahawk porkchop with sides. Will definitely go back.

This was my first time at Barbarians in Toronto and I was met with a very pleasant greeting followed by a coat check which felt so convenient. It had small quaint vibes and an old school charm. The service was phenomenal and I never felt like I had to look for my server. The Caesar salad had very tick bacon which was a nice change. The Oysters were great and from PEI she explained. My Filet Minion was cooked Chicago medium rare as requested. We also noticed some UFC fighters come into eat which was super cool as we are here for the event this weekend. 10/10!! Will return

Top notch meal as expected, exceptional service by the whole team, amazing overall experience. Oysters were a special treat on top of the usual steaks. Prices seem to have gone up, but willing to come for special occasions for a guaranteed perfect evening and meal.

We have dined at a number of classic steak houses in the GTA. This one ranks as one of the best. Thirty something son enjoys dried aged steaks. We had fresh Malpeque oysters, delicious French onion soup, grilled thick cut bacon, grilled Brussels sprouts (too charred for my taste), excellent 16 oz Dried Aged Rib steaks. Service was excellent, the generous wood tub chairs very comfortable. The ladies restroom on the main floor (and on the 2nd floor) have high end Japanese Toto toilets - very nice. We enjoyed our meal.

Stunning settings in the lower cellar. Fantastic staff that refilled wine and water with ruthless efficiency. The steak, prime Rib and dry aged wagyu were all phenomenal and the large slice of carrot cake to take it all down was decadent. Definitely recommend this Toronto landmark for special occasions or just to treat yourself.
