Our experience was ok—we’ve had better. Highlight was the freshly made Ceasar salad. Most of staff was welcoming but the everyone in our party of four agreed the table server didn’t meet our expectations or standards. Tone was apathetic and sometimes we felt we were inconveniencing her. We wouldn’t pick this place again.
Meh. **Food:** The bread appetizer was inconsistent in temperature, with the outside being hot and the inside being cold. The preparation method was unclear. **Atmosphere:** Despite its upscale ambiance, the establishment was marred by sticky floors and excessive music volume. The total cost for the two of us was $350, which we found to be excessive.
Great food and atmosphere. Steak was pretty good, aged very well, tender and rich in taste. Few varieties of salt was offered on side went really well with the steak. Seabass was pretty good as well especially with the sauce came along with. Mushroom was okay, a bit overcooked and dry. Mediterranean salad was least of my favorites. They did emphasize that they offered salad very fresh but taste wise it was a bit disappointing. Last is, red wine in glass they only have four types, would be better if there is more variety.
Definitely a splurge, but you deserve to treat yourself here! Textbooks steaks, these guys know what they’re doing and the quality of the meat is top notch. Service was impeccable as well. Had goosebumps with my first few bites. Our server also recommended some great wine that paired beautifully with our dishes. Sell an organ and come here to feast, it’ll be worth it.
First time at Jacobs celebrating my wife's birthday! It was a very memorable experience from booking the reservation to the last course. The restaurant was proactive in reaching out, confirming the reservation and providing details on the halal options that had been requested. The staff at the entrance was very friendly and made us felt very welcome. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and took their time explaining the different options, specifically the house specials. There were numerous halal options including lamb, chicken and a significant variety of steak cuts were halal as well. We had the caesar salad as starter followed by individual steaks. Serving size was huge and we had enough to leftover as wanted to save some space for dinner. Definitely will be coming back!
We had a lot of fun at Jacobs. Everything was excellent. Our server Jamie was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. The food was fantastic. The Wagyu steak in particular was some of the best I’ve ever had. The potato’s gratin and the Caesar salad were also terrific. The wine options were extensive and they had some great suggestions. I particularly enjoyed the Montrachet. We had a great table in the corner of the restaurant with lots of space. It was perfect for sharing food and lots of laughs. I will definitely be back to Jacobs.
Can I just say their popovers for starter were freaking amazing?! I need to know their recipe because they were absurdly large and crispy. I went there with my family. My dad especially was very pleased with their services and food. As a person who dislikes cold hard boiled seafood, their option of warm seafood that cooked with white wine and butter is god sent. Also they have smaller size of champagne which is very nice. Nobody should chuck a whole bottle just because it would taste bad the next day. This restaurant is definitely one of, if not the most high end and classic restaurant in Toronto
The service is definitely 10/10 here. Food is nothing extraordinary. It’s good but that’s expected with what you’re paying. The risotto is average but the potato gratin was delicious. Steaks and chicken are also good but nothing extravagant. The desserts are rich - we were a party of 4 and almost tried everything. The atmosphere inside needs improvement. Does not look super upscale inside.
A serious steakhouse.
Excellent staff and great food. If you want to treat yourself to high-quality cuts of steak prepared unbelievably well, this is your place.
Amazing food. Great staff. Excellent wine list. Absolutely a go to place if you want only the best steak.
The food was pretty good but considering the price it wasnt incredible either. My steak was cooked medium in some parts but well in others, the risotto was good but not great. Dessert and Table bread were delicious. Service was excellent. Go for the experience but maybe just once.
Perfect service. Allergies were handled very well
Since H60 is closed and had an absolutely terrible experience at blue bovine. We had a large group attend a dinner here last week. Everything was spot on! Big shout out to Victoria. She is one of the best in the service industry!. Could not get a better meal and hospitality. Thank you Jacobs!
Great experience, service, and the food was excellent.
Very great service, started with an incredible Caesar salad (made in front of you) and finished with a T-Bone with duck fat French fries. Amazing food and again service.
The best steakhouse!! Servers are always knowledgable and kind. My husband and i have been coming here for many years and this is the only steakhouse we recommend to everyone!
Hands down the best steakhouse in Toronto. Incredible food, service, and setting.
Great experience! I m such a big fan of ribeye. Perfect choice here and will come back gain for sure.
We recently experienced Jacobs & Co. after 7 years I believe. The place still has a nice vibe and makes for a good evening out. The food I felt was okay, it was not the exciting Jacobs meal that we remember it as. The service was attentive and quick, our waiter was knowledgable and recommended the wine pairings. The risotto was very average, the steak was okay. Service was really poor from the manager.
Beautiful atmosphere amazing service
Best steakhouse in Toronto! My partner took me here for my birthday and we had a fantastic meal and experience. Our server Karan made an exceptional effort to ensure our night was special. Thank you for having us! We will be back soon.
I loved everything about this place. Jamie was so helpful and lovely! The food was amazing!!
Took my mom here for a mother daughter date. It was amazing and the steak was top notch
Overall, the food was extremely tasty. The only drawbacks were around the dated decor, which is visibly falling apart in many areas. In addition, the somoleir wasnt overly helpful. We had to really tease out some suggestions, which should have come naturally to us after discussing our dinner selections and wines we typically drink at home.
Everything but the food is exquisite , Don t get me wrong the meal was great just wasn t it for me but then again I didn t eat the steak so who knows. Try it out and enjoy Food
Wow
My favourite restaurant in the city. Every time I go the service is amazing. The decor and atmosphere is great and the food is absolutely insane! I love all the food but the rapini has a special place in my heart!
We had a joint wedding anniversary/birthday celebration so wanted something special and Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse didnt disappoint! From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was top notch, including one of the owners coming out to thank us for dining there. Special shout-out to our server, Katrina, who explained the menu really well and made some excellent recommendations. The food was amazing (Salmon Tartare, West Coast Oysters and the Chefs Tasting - California Cut Striploins all especially good) and the ambience was very relaxed. This place had been on our list for a year and were definitely going back.
Everyone smiling and very welcoming. Service is good. Food is also great, a bit pricy
Jacobs and Co. is the most overrated steakhouse in Toronto. We paid over $1000 only to be disappointed by the quality of the food. The ribeye was cooked perfect medium rare but lacked the expected dry-aged flavour. Additionally, the ribeye was extremely dry and did not taste like a prime steak. On the other hand, the porterhouse was undercooked (rare) and had too much silver skin, making it too chewy to the point that we had to return it. While the service and the atmosphere were great, the food was very disappointing.
If you have food allergies please book elsewhere. When I tried to alert staff about the allergies prior to our arrival I was not assured that a steak could be grilled in a clean environment and a vegetable steamed without issue. Instead I was given a speech in legalese. Honestly I wasn t looking to sue the restaurant just be safe. Very disappointing in this day and age. Cancelled our reservation and had a fabulous mean at Hy s
One of the best steak houses in Toronto!
We have a wonderful time there on Wednesday evening. We took the flight from Edmonton to Toronto to celebrate my nephew s promotion. We enjoyed our dinner not only for the food, but also the excellent service and the atmosphere. We really appreciate Karan who gave a surprise to my nephew. Thanks so much for your caring. Definitely, I will visit there on my next trip to Toronto.
Awesome time at the bar. Great selection of wines and steaks.
Food: Got the 35 day dry aged bone in strip loin. Was a bit Chevy, okay flavor. Maybe I just got the wrong thing. The sides were mid, tried the cream spinach and mushroom. Service: Decent, the guy who took my order was good, and I can tell that they re trying hard, but don t expect Alo tier service. Atmosphere: I went at 5pm so a bit dead.
5/5. Karan is a great server!
I went into this beautiful restaurant yesterday and I saw the most touching thing I ve ever seen in years. I noticed a guy in a suit hugging one of the waiters. I then asked a gentleman if this was The owner and he said yes. I was amazed to see humanity still exists. As you may know, Owners are usually not like this. The gentleman s name was Gus! Thank you Gus for being a good human, you can see in the young man s face he had a huge smile that Gus gave him a hug. So sweet, we need more Gus s in this world. ATMOSPHERE A bit loud in the piano area but VERY NICE if you like a little music in your life FOOD: Complementary bread & Spread 10/10 Duck fried French fries (slightly salty) 8/10 Braised beef pasta (slightly salty) 8/10 Ross Ross Chicken (nice lemon flavour) 8.5/10 Cheesecake 10/10 Just for that gesture I will be back. - love nana
Server brought steaks from around the world. Great service and atmosphere. Top notch for an upscale steakhouse.
Steaks are great, fish so so, cocktails okay. Service is absolutely not it used to be, we had server who seems did not remember we were in his section, he had absolutely no leadership. The hosts at the entrance seem bored and offers minimum of welcoming feeling. The atmosphere is mediocre at best, the dry walls need fresh paint and the decor is completely absent. For the price point, they could have gave more attention to ambiance and service. There is better choices of steakhouse in town.
Dined here the week of October 16 for our wedding anniversary. Our server was the kindest gentleman and led us through the menu and various options for drinks and steaks with excellent detail. He made us feel like we were chatting with an old friend and it was a pleasure to meet him. The steak tasting menu was phenomenal, as were the sides and my husband loved the oyster starter. The table side preparation of the Caesar salad was so cool. Bravo! Amazing!
Josè was our sever, he s very good at what he does!! Food was incredible, and overall had an amazing dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. Highly recommend
From 2009-2015 this was my go-to spot for clients and unique experiences for friends and family. During this time, assuming there was a different management team, changed the way steaks were served in Toronto. Unfortunately, I revisited them with my family and the food, last month and quality has gone down immensely. They now use Canola oil to cook the steaks (which is far from ideal way from extracting flavour) and almost every other side is first deep fried in duck fat. It was very excessive and unnecessary. I ordered a steak medium rare+ and it came in blue or rare+ at best. The right side of the menu is over priced and taking advantage of Canadians ignorance. I just returned from a trip to Japan and a wagyu steak from the grocery store far exceeds the quality that you would get at Jacobs. I believe in mark-up and costs to export and preserve, but 10xing the price is just un-kind. The waiter also lacked knowledge on many questions I asked him, a simple question about smoke point in the oil through him in a whirlwind. I also saw a young teenager handling the famous caeser salad with a heavy hand and very unsightly presentation. The atmosphere is beautiful and this is what you are paying for. As long as you are aware of this, I suppose you will be somewhat content. Drink lots of wine to dull your taste expectations would be my advice. I hope the owners see this review.
Classic. Delicious. Kind. Welcoming. A great experience. Worth the price. Well priced wine list with gems, however punishing to those status searching. Would highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: For a young teen it was refreshing to see prompt service and listening to requests.
This was first time visiting and honestly I was bit hesitant as the menu was on the pricy side. However unlike other high end restaurants the food and service here was very much worth it. The food was delicious and portions were very generous. Id highly recommend when making the reservation you ask for Karan to be your server. He was extremely down to earth and helpful in making our first visit as enjoyable as can be. Will definitely be back!
The food was really good, the steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare and the fish was really good. The fries had a good flavour to them too. Our waiter, Derrick was really nice and patient. Overall, this was a great first experience.
Service here is amazing!! Loved the food as well. Food
The service here is definitely top-notch, a solid 10/10. The food is good, but nothing particularly extraordinary for the price. The risotto was just okay, but the potato gratin stood out as delicious. The steaks and chicken were well-prepared, though not overly impressive. We tried almost all the desserts, and they were rich and satisfying. However, the atmosphere inside could use some improvement it doesn t quite give off an upscale vibe.
Best dining experience I ve ever had. Yes, it is not cheap, but worth every dollar. We booked a last minute reservation, was told on the phone kitchen closes at 10, got there for 9:15, but we were not rushed once or felt rushed, our waiter kept telling us he s not rushing us and to take our time and enjoy our night. The food was already 5 stars, but the service is what puts Jacobs over the top, and one of my favourite spots for dinner. Will be coming back for more special occasions/dinners.
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent dining experience at Jacobs. I celebrated my birthday here with my bestie this past Friday night. We got the Chefs tasting. My bestie liked the Canada Prime Angus PEI the best, meanwhile I liked the Oakleigh Ranch Wagyu. The A5 was just a bit too rich. I like this option of trying a few different items and appreciate this option being on the menu. We also got the duck fat fries. They were tasty but nothing particularly special about them. I wanted to do the caesar salad and the guests next to our table gave their stamp of approval, but due to my besties gluten intolerance, it wasnt an option for us. I will have to come back to try it. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Very tasty all around. The service was impeccable. Someone came over and personally wished me a happy birthday which was very nice. We ended up skipping dessert but we were given a small complimentary butter tart which was delectable. Happy birthday was written in chocolate on the plate and that chocolate was delicious as well. The muffins they sent us home with were very good. I got to have both given my besties GF intolerance. Shout out to our server Kateryna. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and endearing. She was sure to check with the chef about accommodating my friends dietary restrictions and her suggestions were very helpful. I look forward to my next occasion at Jacobs.
Carl was amazing and he gave us a great service, the food was delicious too.
This rating seems too high for the service i received. One of my friends recommended this restaurant so my friend and i went here today. our experience was so terrible. The food was too salty especially the sides. But the server who was wearing glasses and tall guy, he didn t even care our table. He didn t come our table and didn t even ask common questions; if the food is ok or if we need anything else he only cared about the big table. Maybe he can make better tips? We weren t able to eat foods that we order. Since our didnt check our table, we left the restaurant less than an hour after we arrived and left the rest of the food. When he brought the bill, he also didn t even ask how was our meal. It was a terrible experience and a waste of money.
My wife and I went for dinner and had a great time. Our server Karan was amazing. He was very friendly and professional. Provided thorough details about their menu and paid close attention to what we needed throughout the night. Incredible experience.
First time at Jacob s for a birthday celebration. The food was good: we had salads, meat apps, oysters, ceviche, lamb, and kobe beef - all were tasty and well executed, but without panache. The wine menu is vast and impressive with some really high end and obscure items. The decour is very old school, the ambiance is set more for an older crowd than otherwise. It s a good place for a business dinner as it won t disappoint, but it also won t blow anyone away. The service was good but a bit slow - our cocktails took 20mins to come every time we ordered a round, and the food timing was off throughout the meal - the place wasn t packed, so I don t think it was a volume issue.
Food overall was good, but the experience was ruined by the fact the AC was not running properly and a portion of my party was sweating and had an uncomfortable experience as a result. The staff did little to remedy the situation and never even offered to move our table
Brutally hot - no air conditioning for a $$$$ restaurant not what I was expecting for my first time there. The food was ok - not worth the price as I had better wagyu at Blue Blood. They also brought alcohol to my friend who doesn t drink alcohol at all. Food
When I came in, the stairs were slippery with grease and I fell down multiple steps. The staff helped me at the time and got me a cloth and ice pack for my bruised legs, but after none of them came to check up on me after we sat down for dinner. Our waiter didn t even know. My legs are very bruised up. I feel the management didn t want to take responsibility for having slippery steps because they did not seem to care enough to check up on us afterwards. Just seems like a very careless approach. Not what I expected from Jacobs to be honest.
Cold Shrimp cocktail, with a Marinara sauce amazing, had a subtle hint of vinaigrette in it or something Bread rolls and balsamic great The steak was an American Ribeye cut (no bone in ), wasn t happy with; flavor , texture , the way it was cooked for medium.
The steaks were great ! We ordered 3 different steaks and each steak was distinct from the other which I loved. The bread was great. The potato gratin, salad ,Risotto and dessert was just average. The place is expensive, So I expected better ambience and furniture .Our table didnt even have the place mats, most tables did. That was bothering me all the time. Did they forget? The service was good though ,there were 3 servers attending to us.. but overall it was a good experience.
Overall, a great dine in experience with a nice atmosphere. Servers were very kind and communicative, especially Karan. We forgot our to-go box, and he came out to give it to us as we were leaving. Would definitely come back again if we ever stop by Toronto!
Atmosphere and food were amazing. Especially the jacobs salad and the wide variety of steak options with speciality salts and sauces. Jose our server was attentive and wonderful and just exceptional service overall. Will be coming back to try the porterhouse steak!
Luxurious steakhouse perfect for a special celebration.
The food was very good as was the ambience. Our waiter Vanja was very nice and attentive.
I used to love Jacobs and thought of it as one of Torontos best steakhouses. All my friends agreed with me, and we all also believed that if a Michelin star was ever awarded to a steakhouse in Toronto, it would be Jacobs. Sadly, those days are long gone. First, a note to all customers attending during the summer - their AC is broken and they have no immediate plans on fixing it. When we arrived (while the weather outside was 31 degrees), we immediately noticed it was warm in the restaurant. The front desk told us the AC was warming up and that our seats are in a cool area. We were in fact placed in a back room which was stifling, so we asked to move to the middle of the upstairs near a vent. We then noticed the vent wasnt putting out any cold air! When we questioned a waitstaff member, he confusingly told us that the AC had been broken for a month already. Very disappointing to realize we were lied to and misled. Jacobs is moving to a new location in October (near Scotiabank Arena) so my guess is they simply dont want to bother fixing the current location. Another thing to observe is the service. When they first opened, the waitstaff at Jacobs acted like a ballet - all synchronicity and grace despite the large staff size and limited space. It was truly remarkable to watch as a guest, and it made the dining experience perfectly smooth. You never had to say a word to the staff for anything - they anticipated everything you could want and their various pit crew would attend your needs. Sadly, this is no longer the case. Staff rush around, out of concert and almost in a panic. While your needs are attended at a high level still, its dropped from that S-tier experience to an A-tier. One positive thing of note is that the food is, as always, top notch. In fact, it actually improved over the years that Ive attended! Their bread souflee muffin appertifs used to be a bit heavy and had an odd flavor, but they improved them to be delicious. Overall, Id still consider Jacobs to be a great option and worth thinking about, but Id much rather go to one of the other top options (especially since there have been several that have opened in recent years and receive great reviews). Perhaps when they finally move to their new location... well see!
I don t know why this place is so highly rated and tbh I m actually pissed off that I wasted my boyfriends bday dinner here he loves steak and this place is so highly rated so I thought hey it has to be good well it wasn t and he makes better steak from buying a $30 one at the grocery store I paid $140 for a steak that had no salt on it and came purple when we asked for medium rare the only saving grace is the staff here they re all super nice and accommodating at the end of the day this is just a place for rich people to go to bask in their richness unfortunately rich people don t know good food and have somehow kept this very mid overpriced establishment afloat
Here s a 300-character review you can use: Jacob s Steakhouse offers an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable, and the service is attentive and friendly. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender the oyster were amazing . Sides were equally delightful as well as great espresso martini Highly recommend for a special night out! Parking: Great valet parking for the location
Love this steak house been here a few times now and the service is always top notch and the steak is on point. I recommend the Caesar salad its made right in front of you
Chicken was tasty, lamb was cooked well but the sauce was sweet, steak was good, risotto was the worst I ve had. The rice was undercooked, I wish I sent it back. Side dishes were good: Brussel sprouts, carrots, gratin & mash potatoes. We got charged for side mushrooms but no one ordered it. We also had to pay $5 per plate for a cake to be cut which I ve never heard of before & I called twice to ask about bringing the cake, no one told me on the phone until I arrived with the cake. Overall I don t think it was worth it and probably wouldn t return. Very mediocre and simple flavours.
Lovely restaurant. This time, the steaks were chewy (extra fat pieces made the meal less enjoyable). Overall, the staff was wonderful, polite, and efficient.
Caesar salad was very delicious. The meat will be a little tough if there is not enough oil.
Exceptional service and the best steaks in the city by far. And they have corkage! Our server was fantastic!
Everything was great especially the service.
Recommended place for anyone in and, out of the City of Toronto. Best steakhouse experience thus, far! handsdown. Progresive service with elogence in presentation. Flying lickering of thumbskin taste until the last bite.
Had a fantastic dinner here! The side dishes are delicious and they do a very good steak! Great service from Jose, thank you very much!
I haven t been here in a few years, and I must admit Jacobs has changed, and not for the better. I celebrated a birthday here, and the experience and meal were just okay. The Seabass ceviche was bland at best, the Beef Tataki was a shame. The steaks were okay, nothing special, but the sides were not even close to what they used to be. The sautéed mushrooms looked like they were canned, and the Potato Gratin felt very stale, like it was frozen before. The Rapini was not blanched properly and was hard to chew. With simple sides like this, they need to be done right, and that s what Jacobs used to do. And what s with all the rave with the table-side Caesar salad toss? What a joke to watch the table next to us; honestly, Costcos Caesar salad looks better. The dessert menu consisted of Oreo-based pie with whipped cream The best part of our meal was the ice cream. Dinner for 2 with wine and ice cream was $650, not including tip. Save your money because it s not what it used to be. Unfortunately, we won t be back again.
Carl is the man
Karan delivered the best service to us today. It was my birthday and we made the right choice to come to Jacob s & Co. Definitely coming back again.
Definitely one of the best steaks I ve had ever. The steak was cooked to perfection, service was impeccable. I was taken with great care by Karan. As a waiter, he s the real deal. Attitude and service is a 10/10. If I were you, definitely ask to sit in his section and you won t be disappointed.
AMAZING - 5+ stars. Will be returning. Service is impeccable! Amazing food - top quality cuts of meat. Truly best steakhouse in city! Everything was wonderful, from the valet parking to the breakfast muffins packed upon departure! This restaurant goes the extra mile indeed!
Good food but terrible service. Our waiter was not consistent and poor. He and His support server did not get an order right. Really disappointing experience and extremely poor customer service. We were seated in a back room that reduces the feel of the atmosphere. Please hire better servers or at least manage them properly.
They serve alcohol here, despite serving halal meat options . Muslims, don t be fooled. This place is NOT according to Islamic values and traditions!!
Loud. I had to send my steak back twice. Monkey bread is a must try.
We ordered A5 Kobe and rib-eye steak. I was impressed with the quality of the meat and efficient service. Great wine selections as well. Side dishes and dessert were also perfect with our steak. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a high end steakhouse in Toronto.
Pushy and extremely rude servers. Made the experience uncomfortable and not worth the visit. The food was a solid 1/10 but for higher end service, this is definitely not a place you should visit.
I recently visited Jacobs and left feeling disappointed. Highlights: -Jacobs caesar salad was unique and delicious. -Our server took the time to explain the menu and gave great wine recommendations. Shortfalls: -Furniture/ambiance/layout/decor. The vibes are not that of a high end steakhouse. -At $500/person (app/main/side/wine) I would have expected better quality, taste, and texture. Steaks and sides were uninspiring.
The food is really good, but the service was overwhelming. There were so many different people serving our table that it was hard to know who to ask for anything. I came for dinner, not an over-the-top service experience. The dry-aged steak was slightly better than usual, but not exceptional my own home made dry-aged beef is better. The overall experience felt fake and pretentious, making me uncomfortable. By the end, I just wanted to leave. Parking: Valet is $25 Canadian charged on food bill and with taxes added onto it.
I m not one to leave reviews, but I feel as if it would be a disservice to all of you reading this to not disclose the how terrible my experience was. My partner and I came here to celebrate my birthday but unfortunately it was ruined after coming to Jacobs and Co Steakhouse. The food was tasteless the salmon tartare was fishy, the steak was super chewy and undercooked and had absolutely no flavour. Let s also not forget how poor the presentation was. Honestly the best part of our meal was the free bread we were given at the beginning. We told the server the steak was undercooked and he told us that if we take it home and microwave it then it should be perfect. He also mentioned that it s normal for the steak to be super chewy. Our server was nice was however was inattentive. At the end of the day the prices were unacceptable for the quality of the food. We choose this restaurant because of the high rating but we just can t comprehend why it has so many good reviews. Don t waste your money here.
9/10 service - everything was great except our server forgot our drink order and forgot to bring our doggie bag. But our server did make a very nice suggestion with the steak choice and wine pairing. Nothing major, the rest of the staff were all on point. 8/10 food - not sure if we just ate too much red meat as thats not usually in our diet, but both our stomachs felt off after the meal. Not something youd expect to feel after a pricey meal like that. But the food was really good, the Australian wagyu was Overall, it was a great experience!! I really enjoyed my time here the homemade bread was sensational
Had dinner here with a friend last weekend and I had high expectations. Unfortunately it was not what I was expecting. The service was fine and while the mains were decent, I have to agree that the sides, desserts and espressos were not good at all - especially for the price point. The ambience is off as well, which just made the whole evening underwhelming. Wouldn t recommend.
Food was fantastic but the service is unmatched. Ask for Karan to be your server and you will not be disappointed. He was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations on apps and our main. Pictured is the baked oysters, Cesar salad, and Wagyu Sekai. Everything tasted fantastic!
Upscale steak house. Service is 10/10. Friendly servers and know what they are serving. Complimentary bread starter was fantastic especially with their housemade composite butter. Beef tartare was tasty though a tad under-seasoned for my liking but you can taste the quality of the meat. You have an option to get a half sized sides too. Ordered sirloin medium rare and was cooked perfectly. With the steak, they offer you 3 kinds of salt and 3 kinds of sauces (Japanese based soy, compound butter and chimichurri). I say the chimichurri is one of the best I ve had. Brings out the meaty-char flavour of the meat. You get also a complimentary muffin to go. Decent whisky and bourbon selection. Would have been great had they have more selection on the islay side. Try them out when you re in the area. Place is cozy and intimate but perhaps not too conducive if you have smaller children. They have valet parking but plenty of street parking within 5 minutes walk in the area.
The food is ok. I have definitely had cheaper and better steak and mashed potatoes. But the complimentary bread and butter was 10/10 . Im not typically a fine dinner but decided to do it as i dont like paying an arm and a leg for small portions of things i could pay 1/10th of the price and get better value and same taste.
I ordered the $140 steak.... I think a $60 steak from the Keg has more beef flavour and be more tender. Maybe one needs to order a $500+ steak here. We were not impressed.
We just enjoyed a fantastic dinner at this restaurant, the food was great but it was the service that truly stood out to me. The team is incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly but Mary is an absolute delight! I am celiac so I am dependent on the server to be knowledgeable and take down my order properly and not only did Mary do a fantastic job with that but she guided me through the menu, letting me know what I could and couldn t have and most of all: she made me feel safe and taken seriously, which is worth so much to someone suffering from an allergy. Also: the gluten free bread is phenomenal and truly the best I ve ever had! I could not have been happier to get some to take home with me! Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, celiac friendly, great knowledge on allergies!
Upscale steakhouse on King St worth the price. Amazing service from beginning to end. Beautiful place and ambiance. The servers did a fantastic job. Prefect for a special occasion. The Japanese steaks were so tender. I loved the potato gratin and the risotto as the sides. Will definitely come back!
5 friends for dinner and we ordered everything as a share style. The steaks are extremely rich in flavour so a little goes a long way.
One of the best experiences Ive ever had. I went with my husband to visit and we were not disappointed. The food, ambiance and service was amazing and we couldnt be happier. Well definitely be back! :)
Jacobs is the only place that makes my amaretto sour the correct and the best way. Our service is always phenomenal and the food is always fantastic. Food
Had a lovely experience there. Loved the backed oysters and dry aged California ribeye (tasted better than their halal wagyu). The bread and butter was amazing. They also gave us some complimentary chocolate muffins to go. Those were so good. Our server recommended us the Jacobs Caesar salad but it wasn t worth it. Too sour/citrusy for our taste bud. Not a fan of their desserts as well. We had flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and coconut cream pie.
Overall great food. Muffins are a treat. Brussels sprouts and the Caesar is a must.
Very good Steakhouse, highly recommend Kobe beef, the only drawback is that it is too noisy
Had a great birthday dinner. Karan took excellent care of us.
Amazing place. Top notch service. Servers are very educated on the menu and have great suggestions. The food is amazing and high quality
Jacobs Hands down, Canada s best steak house. Stellar wine list. The team truly makes the experience with a laid-back but knowledgeable approach.
Amazing experience with Derec, and the food was delicious!
Absolutely decadent food. One of the best pieces of steak Ive ever eaten. The prices are a bit high, but completely worth it for special occasions.
Although pricey, the 90-day dry-aged, 45-day dry-aged, and A5 Wagyu from Japan were truly worth it.
Top notch steakhouse with attentive service and perfectly cooked steaks. Sides were delicious as well.
Service is good. The swinging ribeye is too lean to my taste. Salad is very good so is the bread.
Best steakhouse in Toronto!
Really great food and the service was good, the valet was very nice and at the end they gave us really good muffins tasted amazing
It s expensive but on occasions it s nice to be able to dine at a place like Jacob s What I like about the steaks is the tell you what farm they come from, for the most part. The accompaniments(duck fat fries, potatoes gratin, risotto) are worth the price to pay considering the time it would take to make them. The bread is great, they explain all the different steaks and the spacing between tables was good. If we could of lessened the drinks the bill would of been a little better but what are you going to do when the booze start to flow bill was close to 1000 for four people
What a treat for a first time in Toronto. The service was phenomenal. The Caesar cocktail was better than almost any bloody. The Caesar salad was made table side and was killer. The 60 day aged ribeye was phenomenal, cooked perfect with a excellent crust. The sides lacked a wow factor but were not poor in quality.
Food and atmosphere were fantastic! Our server Karan went the extra mile to make sure all our requests were met. Phil - you ll break top 50
Would absolutely LOVE to write a review about the food and wine but unfortunately the constant change of ownership since Jacobs opening has left me in the wings still unable to collect on the gratis dinner promise for my team to feast after having designed and installed the luxury floating staircase inside the restaurant. Just saying...
It was my first time here at Jacobs, had the 25 OZ T-bone, KS , a table side ceaser, duck fat fries, charred Onions and we had to try some Wagyu so we did 4 OZ mayazaki which was super decadent and just absolutely melted in your mouth. Went nice with a simple bottle of Chianti. We were celebrating an anniversary and Karan, our waiter, was not only extremely helpful with choosing some of the food, but made us feel like a priority in their very busy establishment. Would definitely return and probably will soon. Oh and if I may add, even though we did not have room for dessert, he still was able to surprise us with a couple small brownies which was perfect, followed by their famous take home muffins.
Steak in the spotlight: Their menu boasts an impressive selection of cuts, including Canadian Prime, USDA Prime, and even Wagyu and A5 Japanese Black Wagyu. Expect a sophisticated atmosphere with a piano bar, perfect for a special occasion or a celebratory dinner. The staff is attentive and the service is impeccable, making your dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Jacobs & Co. is definitely worth considering.
It was ridiculous of being mocked by the bartender there. I was there many times until being mocked by the dumb bartender who was accused me, hey, are you the one sitting there last time saying dont want blue cheese in the salad but still ate? I ignored while I did feel insulted for sure. At the previous visit, I was with a friend who was visiting me from the other city. I was telling the waiter, Please do not put blue cheese in my salad. They still put in my salad. I was kindly tolerating the mistake they made since I was busy speaking to my friend. Then, on the next time I visited, I was sitting at the bar. The bartender there was literally mocking at me, Are you the one sitting there last time saying do not want blue cheese but still ate? I wonder how hard to taste blue cheese???? Or its because of that I have Asian face so we cant taste blue cheese???? There is something called not preferred and allergic. Please be kind. Insulting your customer isnt something that should be expected at a good steak house. The behavior of the bartender was intolerant. Reply to the business: 100% this is the place. I was there many times before I was somewhat insulted. Im sorry this is the extremely late review. The earlier visiting date was July 27, 2017, and the last time visiting was Dec 22, 2017. I was seated on the second floor in the small room near the bar for the earlier time. Then, the next time, I was seated right in front of the bar on the second floor near that small room. Your bartender said that right in front of me. I was shocked. Being very honest, serious, and responsible for the review. And this is why I stopped coming. Let me emphasize this. I like the food there. I like the kobe beef. I was there for the birthdays, datings, businesses, and meeting with all the important friends, unil being mocked by the bartender. Have a look at your menu from 2017 and see if Im telling the truth.
Great dry aged steaks from firms all around the world. Don t miss out on their Caesar Salad. The Risotto is okay and would not recommend it.
I ve been a frequent customer as this was my favourite restaurant to dine with. However, today brought me an unfortunate experience as the food did not taste to my liking. The ceaser salad tasted like olive oil and Worcestershire sauce. The potato purée was purely just mashed potato s, not smooth but chunky. The lobster was plated on top of a seaweed reef which ended up just tasting like pure seaweed. Lastly, there was a lack of AC in the building when it was 40 degrees outside. Super disappointed as I wanted to celebrate my graduation at my favourite restaurant.
Classic Steakhouse in Toronto -- amazing steaks (Canadian, US, Australian, Japanese Wagyu). Both classic and unusual sides (brussels, spinach, fries in duck fat), great apps (salmon tartare was delicious), oysters, a full drink and wine menu, and some interesting deserts if you still have a little room (we shared a pineapple upside-down cake and a monkey bread with spiced pecans). Dietary restrictions: There are a number of Halal options.
Underwhelming and soulless. Everything feels artificial. The focus here is on a really expensive wine list and really expensive steaks, and the rest sort of falls by the wayside. All other dishes are the definition average, and the steaks, while good, don t make up for the lack of thought or personality. If the Keg tripled the prices of their wines and added Wagyu, you d get Jacob s.
Hello good steak seekers I must say Jacob s is one of the best steaks house. I ve been to in Toronto. Nice and tender just melting your mouth wonderful piece of steak. Service was wonderful, very nice atmosphere. One of the only steakhouse in Toronto you can see the steak before it s actually cooked. By the way, this Caesar salad is made right in front of you sick. Just remember folks never cut corners on eating. Life is short eat well. One more thing live piano. Likkle more
Great restaurant with amazing service! My steak and mashed potatoes were great! Just in terms of parking use the valet or park in the paid parking area if you re there on a weekend evening.
Service was above and beyond expectations. Shout out to HM for a memorable experience. Food
Loved the atmosphere, staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was to die for! Dietary restrictions: One of our guests does not eat meat, brought her out great chicken options. Parking: Easy peasy.....Valet!
Me and my friend went here for a steak night and the restaurant is great. They have amazing aged steak and variety salt and sauce to go with it. Generous portion and taste fine.
Steak was delicious, service was great. Drinks, apps, sides were good but not great. Restaurant is loud and lively.
Pretty great steak, and all the sides were very tasty. Quite a nice meal, but perhaps missing a certain je-ne-sais-quoi/soul & spirit.
My husband took the two of us for a Birthday/Retirement celebration...the service, the atmosphere, and especially the food was wonderful!!! The servers were well knowledgeable on the foods, they were very pleasant and friendly!! My husbands steak was perfect, and my Ross Ross chicken was the best!! We will be returning definitely!!! Wheelchair accessibility: This was a little difficult as there were some stairs, however to get past this problem, the staff took us through a kitchen password to avoid more stairs.
Meat is too expensive
During my recent visit to Jacob s & Co. I indulged in a 30oz T-bone steak, priced at approximately $230, perfect for sharing between two people. The steak was generous, with enough leftovers to enjoy later. To complement the main course, we ordered pasta and a half-sized mushroom dish, which paired wonderfully with the steak. We started our meal with a Caesar salad, freshly prepared tableside, and featuring crispy bacon. For drinks, we selected the Rum Punch and another intriguing cocktail something like Lula that stood out on the menu. After finishing our meal, we were presented with a separate dessert menu, highlighted with images of their sweet offerings. But didn t have since we were already stuffed . They also provided us with 2 complimentary muffin along with 2 complimentary chocolate brownies while waiting for the bill . While the atmosphere of the restaurant was not particularly remarkable, it was nonetheless pleasant, providing a comfortable dining experience. Parking: Valet parking but there s parking cheaper that s around the facility .
Service was brilliant. No doubt. Food wasnt as great sadly.
Legendary steak. Service is perfect. Highly recommend the dry aged ribeye. The monkey paw desert is like a deconstruction cinnamon bun.
Amazing restaurant! Family sized portion and so delicious! Will definitely be going back.
Outstanding service and food. Quite an experience. I do highly recommend their Caesar salad
This is hands down the best Steakhouse Ive ever been to. I got the 14 oz creekstone ribeye, the ceasar salad, and the duck fat fries. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium well as I requested and was undoubtedly the best steak Ive ever had. The tableside ceasar salad with anchovies was also fantastic. Even my friend, who doesnt like anchovies, loved the salad with the anchovies. The duck fat fries were also delicious and the portion size was very generous. Furthermore, the complimentary bread and post-meal muffin were also incredibly flavourful. Overall, the best Steakhouse experince Ive ever had. I will definitely go there again, and again, and again. Update: Went to Jacobs for the second time and the experience was out of this world!
This place is amazing for a special dinner. I loved every aspect of our time there. Service was spectacular. I ordered the beet salad personally I could have just ate that. If you like beets try it! Food : 5/5
the best with Halal options
I think this is one of the most over rated steak houses anywhere. Nice atmosphere. Really great service. The Caesar Salad was horrible. The bread at the beginning was incredible. Sea food tower was great. The High River Rib Eye was the best steak. The mushrooms mid, scalloped potatoes were great. But the meat hmmm I ve had better steaks at the Keg and that s the problem. I d never spend my own money here. It s ok for a business dinner. Service was exceptional.
Service is top-notch here!! Popovers and herbed butter could use a bit of salt. The steaks were cooked as requested. Caesar salad was good and prepared beside your table. Duck fries are a must order.
Excellent!!!
I appreciate the quality, but I feel that the price may not fully justify it.
One of the best Steakhouses i have had the pleasure to dine at. Perfect place to imoress clients. Food and service was exceptional
I ve loved this place for a long time, and although I felt like their quality and service dipped a little bit during and right after Covid, it s clear after returning last week that they are back on their stride! Steak was fantastic, they made the biggest table side Caesar I ve ever seen them make since there was 3 of us sharing 1 which was really nice! Steak tartare was phenomenal, and we also had the onions and pasta which were both great too. If you ve got a special occasion, you can t go wrong dining here. Still one of my favorite steakhouses in the world.
Beautiful ambience and atmosphere, great service. Good food.
Chef Danny is the best. Gracious, down to earth and boy can he cook!! One of the finest meals I have ever had. A5 melt in your mouth. A4 better than any with just a bit more mouth feel. Bone marrow, tenderloin tartare to die for. Service the best anywhere. A must if you are in Toronto!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Highly recommend it for a fancy meal out.
Karan was our server and was an absolute perfect guide to our night. We had the delicious Ceasar salad and 4 cut choice. Delicious and an experience. Will definitely visit again!
This is a meal you will enjoy and never forget. Chef Danny is the absolute best. The staff is wonderful, professional. I highly recommend the chef salad made at the table. 4A steak and monkey bread for desert was outstanding. We will be back.
10/10. Food was amazing, service was great, will definitely be back. There is valet parking for $5 Food
Perfect
Absolutely incredible experience. The service was outstanding. The food was amazing. You have to go. Yes, the prices are high, but you are getting a high end experience.
One of the best steakhouses in Toronto. From the service, the steak and the muffins at the end. Do yourself a favour and order the duck fat fries, they taste so good. And make you don t forget the muffins at the end, they are delicious.
Service and Atmosphere were incredible. The wait staff were very attentive and great at walking you through the food journey. The steak was unreal. The table side Caesar was delicious, although the Tabasco they add to the Caesar was not my favourite flavour profile. The potato gratin was a 4/5 flavour was good but the potato was a bit undercooked in places.
Unwelcoming and not understanding towards the Muslim community. I told them over the phone I request halal options only and I m allergic to pork. They brought me a bacon dip with my steak which I nearly ate. I told them it s for a birthday outing, they forgot it was a birthday celebration, forgot the allergy, but somehow are adamant I was served halal food. Had no way of verifying it as well. Spoke to general manager Victor who assured he works with professionals and knows it was halal. Said he isn t going to accommodate me over a mistake(the bacon, the forgetting bday) failed to take any accountability. Truly disappointing and showed zero understanding for a customer who spent over 300$. Side note: You really need to elevate the dine in experience on the bottom floor, it s a retirement home.. Thankfully I was reseated upstairs by the older gentlemen. 1/10
One of the must try places in Toronto. But honestly it s way over priced and overhyped. But a good place to try different steaks. The Cesar salad used to be really good here but has lost some of its pizaz. Bathrooms could have been a little more cleaner.
Had a different assortment of steaks they were all excellent but nobody should be paying these prices for food.
Jacobs & Co. stands as the epitome of culinary excellence in Torontos steakhouse scene. With its impeccable service, elegant ambiance, and a menu that boasts the finest cuts of beef cooked to perfection, Jacobs & Co. easily earns the title of the best steak place in the city. Every visit is a gastronomic journey that leaves a lasting impression of indulgence and delight.
Steak quality and taste are great Comes with various flavors of sea salt and various flavors of sauces The corkage fee is 70cad for a 750ml bottle of wine They also gave us muffin Great service The only downside The first few people at the front desk who walked in were very indifferent. The first impression is not good But I still gave it 5 stars Because of the taste of the food, the service at the table and the service of opening the wine were excellent. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Will ask about dietary restrictions Parking: Valet parking available
Amazing food and staff! Special thank you to our multi-lingual servant Joshua :-) Will be back!
We went for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! We had a fabulous experience from start to finish. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was fantastic. Our servers were friendly and knowledgeable. They make you feel like you re the most important person in the place. The manager (owner?) even came by to wish our friend happy birthday. One of our friends doesn t eat meat and he had the sea bass. It was great. He loved it. The mushroom risotto is made with mushroom broth and not chicken broth so he could have that too and it was amazing. The Caesar salad is incredible and we tried the beet salad and it was the best beet salad we ve ever had. Our steaks melted in our mouths. There isn t a better steak in Toronto. We really can t wait to go back.
Best steakhouse in Toronto! Don t go anywhere but here. Truly amazing food and experience 6/5 !
Yum
Service was excellent, food was great and quick! Can t wait to come back here again, btw they are very understanding of the halal options and will talk you through each of them. 10/10 everything worth every penny
Really nice steak house in Toronto! If you are a meet lover, you must try here
Great food and service! My favorite Steakhouse in Toronto!
Steaks, sides, wine, service and ambiance were amazing. Chef McCallum and his staff did not disappoint. 5+ star experience all around!
Overall more atmosphere than substance.
Joshua our server was hands down the best server I ve ever had. Everything went seamlessly and he made sure to go above and beyond in every way. Highly recommend to all foodies and someone looking for a great experience. Ask for Joshua, he s the best!
It was an amazing experience had a seat rite beside the piano it was a night filled with pure opulence and great vibes from my waiter Joshua. Bravo guys absolutely crushed it
The caesar salad is excellent. Made in front of you and the portion is generous. Highly recommended. The bread they bring to the table is also excellent with the garlic butter. The seabass ceviche was very good as well. My risotto was good but the rice was slightly undercooked. Lastly, the steak came out lukewarm, not hot as I would have liked it. I assume this is the steak cooling from the resting process. If Id change anything, Id want my steak coming out hot. Id give my overall food experience a 3.5. The service was top notch. Our server was friendly but all the servers and wait staff are very attentive and polite. They do make you feel like a respected customer. The brownies and muffins at the end of the service was a very nice surprise. The atmosphere was nice. Nothing fancy but also not bad at all. Just neutral. Overall, it was nice to try Jacobs. Not a bad experience but also not one where Ill be thinking to myself, I really want to go back there.
This restaurant is my favourite now. The service is just exceptional! When I ordered glass of red wine, I was indecisive so the waiter offered me to try 2 in the same price category and choose what I like. The same was for white wine. Also, they clean up your table after each dish, I felt like a little baby haha Food also tastes amazing. It was amazing experience overall.
The best steakhouse. We truly enjoyed our dinning experience from the first moment we entered the restaurant. The service is top notch so as the food. We celebrated my birthday and will be returning again and with our friends.
The fries were so good even when cold they tasted great! Scallions, button mushrooms and spinach side were excellent as well.
Our experience at Jacobs & Co. was okay, the server was kind and knowledgeable. He helped us pick a nice wine to go with our meals. The Cesar salad was not fresh to be honest, had heard a lot about their table side Cesar salad but it felt like the lettuce was not fresh which was disappointing. We got our steak along with Brussels sprouts and mushroom risotto. The Brussels sprouts were made well in a teriyaki sauce, the risotto was very bland and not cooked well. The steak was okay, nothing extraordinary. Could be that we had high expectations coming here but it didn t live up to the hype. Will give it another try
Excellent food as well as superb service. Always a great experience to be there.
Jacobs is awesome and serves really great steak. Enjoyed going here!
Amazing expierience for our 6 year anniversary! Jose our server took excellent care of us and made sure everything was perfect The service staff was amazing and very kind You can never go wrong visiting jacobs!
The best restaurant hospitality Ive ever experienced. The service is phenomenal! Excellent food, great value. Will definitely be returning. Food : 5/5
