The Miller Tavern, a staple in the heart of the financial district, reveres tradition and reads classic American tavern. Market fresh dishes from the land and the sea are complemented by an extensive collection of spirits, as well as expertly mixed classic cocktails.
Amazing place!! Great drinks and cocktails at only 10$ downtown!!! That’s crazy inexpensive, staff is so friendly also has the Waygo steak absolutely phenomenal!! Love it
First time eating here. The hostess was accommodating as we did not have reservations and they found us a spot. The place was busy and all wait staff seemed to be able to step in for each other and help out. Shasa took our drink and food order (stepping in for Del who had been requested to make specialty drinks) Sasha was able to describe the differences between 2 plates to help with the decision. It was a great experience. I will definitely be back we in Toronto
This spot is ideally located for a mix of office workers, tourists, and locals. The food was fine but didn’t leave a lasting impression. We tried the heritage salad and the haddock; both were alright, though nothing to write home about. Prices have also gone up since the menu update, which is something to keep in mind. In short, this is a convenient stop if you’re nearby and enjoy a traditional ambiance, but manage your expectations on the food front. Great for the location, but not necessarily a destination dining experience.
It was a pretentious place, It looked cosy and quiet, The waiter was well mannered. I ordered a seafood risotto at a very-very high price, having high expectations. Instead I got a dish that looked like someone's burp (look at the picture). Rice tasted like pot barley 😮. And I almost did not find seafood in my dish. The portion was extremely small. We came for a business lunch where I was busy talking with my partner and did not have a chance to argue or talk to the chef. And definitely never come back to this place again.
Love this place for a quick food in a great atmosphere. The salmon is ordered had a pleasant crispy skin on it and yummy sauce around it. Highly recommended!
We always walk past this place but we have never actually visited the restaurant. Tonight was the night and it did not disappoint! First thing, the service was great, from beginning to end. Everyone that walked by our table were always looking to see if things were in order. It wasn’t a busy time when we dined in but, the overall atmosphere was nice and chill. Decor was somewhere between old school bar with some modernization to it. They had a few large tv screens for those who are into sports by the bar area, also visible from some booth seatings. We ordered some cocktails, a French onion soup, a ribeye with fries and salad. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection, and did not have to wait too too long for it to be served. The steak was definitely cooked the way we asked for (medium rare) and it was melt in your mouth and juicy. The French fries were lovely, we absolutely love steak-cut fries! My only complaint was that our French onion soup was a bit over seasoned for our tastebuds. It was good at first and then as we kept drinking it, it started to get a bit salty. Taste wise, the soup was still delicious. Their cocktails were no joke either… they were quite boozy! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you’re by Union Station area looking for some good food.
It's in a prime spot, perfect for office workers, tourists, and residents, same with the Fox next door. The food here is okay; it might surprise you if you're not expecting too much. They renovated in 2022, but the inside still kept an old-fashioned style. Prices have gone up since they also updated the menu. We tried the Miami Short Ribs, which were tasty but a bit greasy. They could improve the presentation by draining off some of the oil. The Tuna Tartare was good, and the Prime Rib Dip was decent, though you might find a better one for the same price outside of downtown. Their Baby Gem Salad was fresh, with pear and candied walnuts adding a nice touch. It's a decent green mix, but again you might find better quality salads uptown for a similar price. Service was average, but I liked the chill vibe, after all, it's rare to find a quiet spot downtown, so that's a big plus. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 3/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3.5/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 3.5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 3.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 2.5/5 OVERALL - 3.2
Came for an early evening dinner on a Saturday night with 6 adults. It wasn't top busy at the start, but the place filled up as the night went on. Reserved online the day before for seats. Place has a nice vibe, definitely more for adults. The menu had good choices, more on the pricier side as well. Ordered Crab dip (not pictured) as appetizer and for mains - fish and chips, 18 0z ribeye, 10 oz flat iron steak, and the wagyu steak. Each came with a side of choice and also ordered brandy peppercorns sauce on the side. Everyone enjoyed their meals, there were no complaints and we were left quite full. The meats were cooked to what each individual preferred, medium and medium rare. The fish and chips were also good as per what I was told by a friend. We also had coffees or lattes after the meal. The server came by often to check on us. The place was clean, and bathroom was nice. I would recommend for a date night or outings with friends. Again, higher pricing with food and drinks, but the quality is present.
I was there for the first time at Miller tavern.. Service was ok.. price too high but food quantity and quality no worth.. We ordered fries with gravy.. gravy had no taste and very watery and there is no way u guys charged my team $8 for that shity watery gravy. Overpriced.. not coming back sorry.. I will never recommend anybody ever.
Fast and efficient service before the Raptors game.
Has cheap cocktails and good food, food is a bit over priced Our server was very nice Food : 5/5
Rubbery calamari were lost in a mountain of greasy fish and chips batter, incredible to find this appetizer so messed up! Tuna tartar looked grey. Steaks (and burgers) were overcooked. French onion soup was okay. Service was friendly. Prices do not match quality.
Best Hamburger Ive ever had was in Miller Tavern Sampled my friends dishes as was all if it was absolutely amazing With Love from Calgary AB Food : 5/5
Great meal. Prices were very reasonable for downtown. Nice menu of non-alcoholic cocktails for $10 each!
Its ok for something to eat and continue
Our waiter was incredibly rude, the plus sized middle aged man with receding hairline (not sure his name) spilled a half full drink all over us and didn t even offer to help clean up, or offer a new drink and was smirking about it with another waiter. Would never come back!!
Excellent tavern burger, paired with a tasty Creemore Lager.
The hostess was just plain mean. I had a reservation which she couldn t find then had the audacity to ask if I was at the right location. Like I m so stupid that I don t know where to go pre concert. Got it sorted out but she never apologized for her error. She was actually just nasty. Server was nice but had no idea about the menu or the wines. Food was acceptable. Will not go again because of the hostess. Really cannot describe how obnoxious she was.
Avoid it if you can. We were invited by some friends to join them and were told the chef would accommodate a vegan diet. I think the waitress was drunk as it took the woman 40 min to get on of our party his beer and when when I told he about being vegan and we we told I could speak to some one she said she would get someone , no one ever came. Eventually due to hunger I ordered French fries without cheese, they came with cheese. I sent them back. On the plus side a new order came quickly. My friend still had no beer. It became humerus, but sad. Eventually sad and hungry we left our friend to find a real restaurant. Dietary restrictions: No accommodation for vegans
Timely service of our big group...excellent food and drink! Comfortable atmosphere.
Great menu Average prices Close to Scotiabank arena, so a great spot for a pregame bite/pint Staff is super friendly and attentive Speed of service is great Cocktail menu is deep with loads of classics and some unique options worth trying The atmosphere was great and had a decent sized patio for warmer months steps from the lake Streetcars nearby as well as Union station. Parking nearby as well Has a few solid vegetarian options and some vegan as well Great for a date or meeting with friends Vegetarian options: Nice curry dish, salad options, risotto is great as well Dietary restrictions: Had food for vegans and vegetarians
The cocktail was great, the beers were very fresh, the waiter was very attentive and polite, this is a place I will visit often from now on, thank you
I loved the margarita and my husband loved the Heineken beer
The risotto was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the wagyu bolognese was also perfectly prepared.
Food was good. People are so nice and the staff is great.
John is amazing! Such a personalized experience, so kind to everyone
It s been 35 minutes that I ve been waiting to pay the bill for an overpriced meal. Definitely do not recommend. The server hasn t even come in to check on us once. About 10 minutes ago, I reached out to the server asking for a bill, she s been servicing all other members and still no bill.
Stopped in for drinks only. Service was great for a concert night at Scotiabank Arena (which is practically a 2 min walk). Had tickets to a concert and the location is perfect to grab a drink, or even food, before hand. It was relatively quiet, and from the plates passing us, the food was good for a pub grub kinda place. It s not high end Toronto cuisine, which quite frankly if you just need good food before a concert, then I highly recommend this tavern!
For vegetarians, Mushroom Risotto was very good. Truffle fries were average.
Their burger was so good!
Went in for the happy hour thank you hour & the online menu is not the same as in person. They do not offer the smash burger which is why we went in tonight. Disappointing Edit: It was not a user image but in fact from your direct online menu from your website. You should match your online menu & physical menu or at least uphold your own menu on your website.
Really friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Food, cocktails and drinks were good.
Good atmosphere, food and drinks seem good quality portions, drinks seem to be a little too expensive, Could improve on happy hour times and more promotions for discount beverages!
Worst lobster sandwich I have ever had. There wasn t even enough lobster to call it a lobster club. It was literally all bacon, tomatoes and lettuce with a smear of aioli or something and a sliver of lobster. Definitely not worth the $$$. The fries were sad as well, they tasted and looked like they stayed way too long in day old oil. All you could taste was the crunchy oiled coating. Do not recommend at all. My friends asked for rare steak and it was steak that was over done, and again fries were super oily and over done. I think 3 people ordered steak and none of them were done correctly per order.
Im so sad I found this place so late in my life. Great food, close to the center island ferry, great service? Yes please Food
Service was not the best here. We waited for a long time after being seated for someone to come and take our drink order. The restaurant was not even full. Then another long wait for our food order to be taken. The food was very good when it arrived.
Great food friendly staff amazing food we have been here 2 times that s how much we love it
Ordered the Wagyu steak, medium rare. One of the best steaks I have ever tasted. Service was excellent, fast and very friendly.
1. I chose the dish based on the photo from Google; they were joking with me and said See, it is same with the photo ) 2. It is a delicious food; 3. Very kind waiters; they provide a half cup of cider for free since they dont have enough; 4. A few guests on our side ordered a lot of dishes. I believe they like the foot also. : )
Excellent service (Matt was awesome!) - had a great girls night before a concert at Scotia. Highly recommend the bolognese!
We tried the Thank you hour. More like the rip off hour.
What made this place stand out was the service. Not only was it the first time me and my family visited this place, the moment we walked it, the staff treated us like it was our 100th time walking in. They made inside jokes with us, made sure the food was great, and treated us like family. Overall a great place to stop for lunch if you are walking to or from union to the lake
Great service at a very nice location. The Wagyu burger was pretty awesome although my Fish N Chips (cod) was fairly soggy. I felt pretty greasy after having it. Maybe halibut would have been better. Thanks to our server who helped us with photos.
Very fair prices and the Wagyu was amazing. Perfect amount of spice on the steak and was cooked perfectly, will definitely be back
Very average menu. Nothing particularly good or bad about the place
Colin is THE BESTTTT!! I dont leave reviews but he made the exp 10x. First time here and celebrated my boy s bachelor party
The wagyu burger is pretty good, but very pricey for what you get. Otherwise, the location, service, and ambience are all quite nice.
Amazing food and superb service! Definitely will be back! Thank you for making my son s graduation dinnner a very special one!!!!!
Very nice and clean restaurant delicious foods. The portion of foods was enough, I asked for hot sauce, although it was not hot, but they had nice behavior.
The food was really good, but the service was incredibly slow and poor. Bar manager made it feel like it was a nuisance to be so busy after the Leafs game and a concert. This location is in such a prime location youd think theyd want some of the fill from other events. I would not recommend this spot to anyone despite the food being good.
Came here after a long flight. The place was dead at 3 pm, but the food and service were great. The steak tartare was top notch, and the prime rib dip had a sauce so good you could live in. Our server/bartender (Robert? Beard, glasses, some tattoos. Its been a month since we went, forgive me) was entertaining and suggested some great places for us to visit after we ate. If you stay in downtown Toronto, you need eat here.
The food was excellent. The portions are huge, so make sure you are hungry. My husband and I split the prime rib and still could not finish it.
Decent place for a lunch downtown, a bit on the higher end for what you get given the location. The brisket dip was quite sizeable and heavy - good flavor but the fries were pretty average.
One of my favorite places in TO. Pre game stop always. Love their crab cakes. branzino and their steak with cafe de paris butter. Service always topnotch
First time at the Bay Street location. Prices were quite steep-which we wouldn t mind if the food was above average. Beef Dip sandwich was mediocre at best and salty. Fries were good. Steak was undercooked, asked for medium and got medium rare and it had no flavour. Onions were added even though an allergy was noted. Server was good but seemed annoyed at times with requests. Dropped $250 for two people. Not worth the price. Won t be looking to revisit. Jack Astors a million times better.
Great atmosphere, service and food. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Had the fish and chips-delicious.
Bar tenders are rude and unhelpful. We wanted a nice bottle of wine but they didnt have the time to talk to us and just ignored us until we left.
Great burger at the Miller Tavern! Fast service even when packed before a Leaf game. The server was efficient and very friendly. Fairly new inside and well decorated so the atmosphere was really nice! All around great experience! Food : 5/5
Big portions and good flavours. Nice atmosphere and attentive servers. A bit pricy for lunch but that dis not stop the place from being mostly full. Make a reservation.
Had the wagyu bolognese and tuna tar tar, everything was delicious and awesome service.
The wait staff were excellent, food good but was put off at the reception by the arrogant general manager....
Came in with a small group. The service was friendly. I had the raspberry beret and the shrimp and calamari appetizer. Good size for an appetizer. It was crispy and flavorful. Kid-friendliness: They do have a high chair
Pricey spot for a casual drink, but welcome to TO.
It is a good place to socialize and network with clients for business.
Came before a Raptors game, and they accommodated our family of 5. Quick service and high quality food. Had Wagyu pasta and a fish and chips
I dont write many restaurant reviews, but I felt this one warranted it. The positives were our waitress was great and attentive and the location is a hotspot with lots around to see and do. The food is just not good. I am not a foodie and rarely complain about restaurants, but this was just bad. We had the crab dip appetizer which was pretty fishy and served with small broken potato chips that I am positive were from a bag. I had the burger which was ok but for $32 expected better. My friend had the prime rib dip. I was far too salty, the consistency of the meat seemed mushy, most likely because it wasnt fresh and was just reheated, and the fries were not fresh cut but from frozen. When you are charging mid $30s for a sandwich, thats not good enough. I have a hard time understanding how this place has a 4-star average rating given what we were served, but my recommendation is to find another restaurant. I dont mind overspending for dinner....its Toronto, but there are plenty of places in that area with much better food.
Fire alarm... that was a big problem other than that it was a wonderful atmosphere. Good food good company wasnt impressed with the deep fried calamari and shrimp it was soggy and greasy. Our charcuterie board was delightful will definitely order that again! My company had fish and chips and macaroni and cheese it was OK
Michael Skeete is an outstanding host, who made our visit truly memorable !!!
The food was absolutely delicious. The truffle oil for the fries ia a great addition, and I was pleasantly surprised by their house salad side. No simple lettuce/ tomato/ cucumber thing that most restaurants serve! This was a mix of greens, stewed pears, candied walnuts, grapes and other shredded veggies. I really enjoyed the side as much as my main dish (prime rib dip - excellent!)
Was killing some time before the Madonna concert. They were playing music from Madonna (perfect) Service was fantastic, food was great, drinks were awesome. I was happy with our experience there.
Quite pricy for decent foods
Very rude staff!
Not a friendly place. Very rude staff.
Food was underwhelming for the price. Sadly it is another downtown location taking advantage of the hockey crowd. Service was very good.
I was invited to this place for a work lunch and I was excepting average food as I had not heard much about this place. But we got the fish and chip, steak frites that was amazing. The fish was so light and delicate inside and crispy on the outside. The batter it was fried in was perfectly seasoned too. The steak was perfectly medium rare and the flavour was like I had never tasted before. On the table we also got the risotto and club sandwiches- the risotto looked beautiful but I didn t really try it. If you like a mushroom risotto - it s a must try was what my co worker had to say. There was like two kinds of mushrooms and they didn t cheap out on adding the mushrooms. Someone also got The club sandwich which was huge and with so much of filling. We also got drinks for the table and I tried the all inclusive and queens Gambit, which were subtly sweet and just perfect. reminded me of summer 100% recommend trying this place. I don t believe that I worked next to this restaurant for over two years and never tried it out. Going to go back to try their Sunday roast for sure.
We stayed at the Westin harbor Castle. And were looking for a walking distance restaurant. So so happy we came across Miller tavern. The ambiance was perfect. And the meal was incredible!! We had oysters. Crab cakes. mushroom risotto... And braised beef. The food was truly excellent!! Definitely would recommend this restaurant! Will definitely go back.
Im not sure where to start. Our visit on January 25th was about the most bizarre restaurant experience I have ever witnessed. We had a relatively large party (13), which we called beforehand to confirm availability. The experience started with the completely disengaged bartender. When asking for a drink menu in search of a specific drink (a simple rye whiskey on the rocks), we were dismissed, ignored, and basically told to just look at the bar shelf and pick (which was stacked 3 layers deep). The attitude of the bartender was so ridiculous and egregious, we werent sure if this was a kitsch routine that the restaurant was testing out. The attitude carried over to the food service. Another employee that was condescending, rude, and smug for the duration of the food service. This cemented In our partys mind that the employees were being mismanaged and allowed to behave in such a way. We are part of a multinational company that has our office in close proximity to this restaurant. It has been a go-to staple of ours for many, many years. I can say that, after our last visit, we will surely not be supporting this establishment for these types of gatherings again. For the amount of money they are charging for meals, the quality of service is not nearly where it needs to be.
Last night may have been one of the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in Toronto. This is the first time I am writing a negative review for Miller Tavern and will certainly be the last time I go back or recommend it to my colleagues or friends again. The night started off with an extremely rude bartender, I believe his name is Matt, who refused to serve us (a large group of 13 people) while we waited for our table to get ready. I understand that it can be a bit challenging to transfer bills over to another server, but most restaurants do this happily, or at the worst just ask you to pay upfront. Another colleague asked to see a list of their available ryes for a whiskey on the rocks and was told to just look at the shelf even though there were several dozens options to chose from. It was an uncomfortable and unpleasant way to begin the night. When the table became ready for us, we were seated and served by a fellow named Angelo. Angelo was even worse than the bartender. His demeanor the entire time made us feel like we were a burden to him and it seemed like he made every effort to make our experience as bad as it possibly could be. He was rude, dismissive, and preferred just telling us that they were out of every wine instead of kindly telling us what was actually available. I found it really convenient that the only bottles in stock were $80 or $155 and I suspect he just wanted to get the most out of us for his personal gain. The worst part was how he handled the payment, making it VERY clear that gratuity was not included while he watched like a hawk as we paid for the bill. This man was probably the worst server I have ever had and, frankly, I was embarrassed to have suggested this restaurant to our out of town colleagues. I can assure you that it will never happen again. It is unfortunate that this restaurant has gone down hill this much. I hope that management is able to rectify their issues and turn things around.
Great food, solid service, good atmosphere. Started with the Focaccia bread and onions rings. Both were good but the bread is a must. Had 12ounce NY strip loin steak and Tavern burger for mains. Steak was one of the best Ive had. Cooked perfectly. Burger was good with lots of flavour. Baked potato was a little dry and didnt come with butter(had to ask) . Fries were different than shown online ( regular cut not the fat steak ones) only issue with my food was charging $12 for peppercorn sauce with steak....really? At $70 already it should be included. Server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was loud but not excessive. Couldnt hear our conversation without raising our voices. We sat near the front door which is close to the bar and not ideal. Im sure there were better places to sit but we had a reservation. Without alcohol the bill for 2 is pretty steep at $150....but overall it was a good experience. Oh and the menu had less than it showed online. So not a ton of options but what we had was delicious.
Went back to this location after a few years. I was attending the same veterinary conference at the Westin nearby and we had a good experience back in 2018 so I was looking forward to it. It has changed. This was offering a common sports pub experience complete with big screen TVs playing hockey except at Harbour 60 prices and attitude. Escargots were bland and dry. The wagyu burger was dry and tough (Harvey s serves a better meat patty; no way this is actually wagyu) and the frites were hard, crispy, hollow husks of overly cooked starch. Old Fashioned had small cubes and used a simple syrup. 2 of our party reported having vomited/nausea overnight after this meal after returning to their rooms right after dinner. And we had 5 in our party but were sat at a table made for a cozy 3, and we were kept there despite asking for something larger while watching tables of 2-3 people being sat in booths made for 6. I didn t choose steak as there were no appealing options for me at the time but I give 2 stars because I did have a pleasant experience last time and perhaps the steaks might have been better with a different side. Not sure what happened but I guess the quality experience we d had last time did not survive the pandemic.
Great food, poor service. Creative menu but expensive.
Karen restaurant in disguise! Very rude staff.
Great service, great atmosphere and excellent steak. Will be back.
The burger is one of the best youll ever eat.Cozy ambience and welcoming staff.
We had the most wonderful evening here!! Celebrated our 30 Wedding Anniversary!! Fraser our waiter was really polite and patient! Complimentary Champagne when we were sat down!! Started the evening off really nice!! The meals we had were excellent!! Nice job from the kitchen crew!!
Good service nice cocktails
Excellent service. Everyone was kind with smiles on their faces. I had the Tartare which was surprisingly delicious. I have never tried this before and raw steak isnt exactly something I would pick but I was surprised. They have happy hour from 3-5, half off my white wine and my app. Highly recommend.
Service was amazing. Food was subpar. Chicken was dry, fries were stale, salad was ok but too lemony. The burger on the otherhand, fantastic. So in the end, very expensive for only enjoying the burger.
Update: I m here again after a difficult day at work to have some good foods and enjoy friendly ambiance, as it used to be. Hugely disappointed again :) I know! My fault. Shouldn t have come here. Awful steaK! Not fun chewing it! Going home to take some digestives Maan! Used to be much better! Recently, the quality of the food is not the same as before, and considering what you pay, you can eat better foods somewhere else! Very disappointed. I was a regular, but won t go back again.
Update (20230327): The service seems to have gotten better after the pandemic. I ordered the same thing as 4 years ago and the steak was just as good (maybe even better). We were here for lunch and it seemed like it was quiet. Could be it was Monday and most people dont come into the office on Mondays. Original: The food is fine. The waiter mixed up the cooking instructions for two of the orders I ordered a medium steak, but got medium rare and a coworker ordered a medium rare burger and got medium. Not a big deal for me as I was thinking of ordering medium rare but chose medium. So it worked out for me in a way. The atmosphere is good for a bar. Not too loud, but not quiet at all. The group of us were able to carry out a conversation without resorting to yelling. There was an issue with the register/computer, but it was resolved so it really didnt impact our ability to pay.
The tavern was a fun experience. It is pricey, but worth it for a treat. I had the burger, and would recommend it.
Great ambiance, great service!! Name deceives the higher quality service!!
Server was rude and he only seemed to care for the tip when it came to payment. No attention was given to our table, when he came by to check on how the food was tasting, how is everything tasting and before we could answer, he actually walked away from the table. First and last time there.
30 minutes before anyone would talk to us aside from the person who took us to our table ... and I had to go ask them. Nevertheless, cool place and the food was good and proximity to the event we were attending at th ACC was good
The Tavern Burger is an all time hit! Most of the dishes are fabulous
Great service and great food!
One of the best burgers I have ever had!
They have a smaller lunch menu available but, quality-wise, I would absolutely recommend!
Amazing food, service, and drinks. Tried their burger which totally lived up to the hype and the seafood pasta had a fresh sauce. The beef tartar was fresh and flavourful. Worth the price.
The Miller Tavern is such a great experience. The food, the team, the interiors, the location, everything was great and cant recommend it enough. Inside and outside are gorgeous. Its great for date nights or business luncheons - highly recommend it. If you are there, you have to try the Accidental Sunshine cocktail as well!
The Miller was super busy and as a result service was painfully slow. We missed the first 15 minutes of the event we were attending. Food is ok, nothing I m going to rush back for. Location is convenient
Very friendly and helpful staff, the food is great.
Great music. Fun free events. Good prices and great drinks!
Good downtown restaurant for pub classics. Had the beef sandwich which was really good.
Had the stakes and fries and it was just the way I liked it and it was delicious.
In general, it is not bad, but the potatoes that were added to the burger were dry. But the institution is good.
Its not every day that you come across a gem like Miller Tavern on Bay Street in Toronto. Nestled amidst the urban hustle and bustle, this place promises a comforting retreat with its welcoming ambiance and timeless charm. What is a tavern without its food and drinks? Millers shines brightly in this aspect. Whether its the heartiness of the traditional dishes or the innovative flair in the contemporary cuisine, every item on the menu seems to tell a delicious story. Their craft beers and selection of fine wines are the perfect accompaniment to the meals, and if youre up for something unique, dont miss out on their creative cocktail concoctions. Service at Millers is as warm as the setting. The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu and their readiness to provide personalized recommendations add to the overall dining experience. The location is a plus point too. Being in the heart of Toronto, Millers is conveniently accessible, making it a great place for both a quick lunch during a busy workday or a relaxed dinner in the evening.
A good place to rest a little, even with children , thanks for the service to the guy who gave us good service.
I arrived on a Sunday around 3 pm, the place was empty, I was warmly welcomed by the host, I ordered an Angus burger with a Ceasar salad. I sat at a large table with comfortable sofas to sit on. Pleasant Indie rock style music was playing. The dish took about 10/15 minutes to arrive and it was wonderful, from the salad to the burger. I paid almost $40 with a 10% tip. My experience was very positive, I hope I can go there again.
Just went here about an hour ago with my parents for lunch. Really great atmosphere here. Even though it was busy it was still relaxed and the vibe was nice and still got seated right away. Food was amazing and they give you sizeable portions of whatever you order, which honestly is rarity these days with a lot of restaurants, so that was nice to see. Had the Cobb Salad which was super fresh with amazingly delicious and fresh lettuce, tomatoes and avocados. Parents had the Fish & Chips and Half-Roasted Chicken and they both thoroughly enjoyed it. Only disappointment was the service. Felt like the waiter wasnt attentive enough as my mum had asked him for sauces with her meal, as well as asking for water 2-3 times, and the wifi password, and he never came back with anything we requested until the end when he saw were done eating and brought us the bill. So we had to ask another waitress instead for the things we requested. So, yeah that was a bit of a let down but other than that everything was great!
Absolutely delicious. We ve had the focaccia (x2), short ribs, tuna tartare, oysters, assorted desserts. Excellent food. And the staff are very friendly.
The half chicken is amazing. I cant speak for the rest of the menu, but I was looking for a place to sit down on a Sunday night, and this place is definitely worth the price. Food : 5/5
Great downtown spot!
Food is okay. Everything that we tasted was saltier than usual. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff Hopefully the saltiness was a one off thing, and next time we visit, it will be better. Food
I came here with my colleagues for a team lunch. The service took a little longer and I had the branzino fillet with pea puree. Some of my colleagues had the tavern burger and roasted chicken. I wasnt keen on the portions of the food as well as the taste of my branzino dish, relative to the price. Overall it was alright.
Solid Keg-style experience. One of the better Caesar salads Ive had.
Its variety of foods is very good and the service is very good.
We were coming back from Centre Island and it started to rain so we decided on Miller Tavern for dinner. So glad we did! We shared some appetizers and a salad, topped off with triple chocolate cake. Everything was quite delicious! Quiet upscale atmosphere. The staff was impeccable! They worked so well as a team. Every staff person in the restaurant stopped at our table to help with something. It was seamless and attentive. We could feel the commeraderie in the atmosphere, doing what needs to be done, helping each other out. Huge round of applause for staff working tonight! It was lovely!
We met for dinner here, since its close to the conference center. I was charged for a larger size steak than I ordered (an extra $20.), but didnt notice it until I checked my bill a week later. I called to have it corrected, left 2 messages for the manager, but nothing was done and my calls have not been returned. This is not the first time. I was once charged for someone elses meal, on top of ours. My fault for not checking all the details. I wont be going back.
Friendly, attentive service, tasty food, a full menu and convenient location.
It looked promising but quite frankly it felt like a terrible tourist trap. The food was expensive and flavorless (we had the chicken, steak and mussels). The service was terrible and even though we told the wait staff we had a show to get to, when the food finally came, we had 10 min to wolf it down to make our show...so we ended up getting there late. The bathroom was not in good shape with missing hooks, missing toilet paper holders and deep scrapes in the stalls. The only good thing I can say about this place is they have a nice patio. Would definitely not return.
I can not say enough about this jem of a restaurant. Was on a strole with my boyfriend and came across this place and went in. The place was quite, the servers were engaging and the food was amazing. We will come back as soon as we can.
The food here was really nice and affordable. However I found it a bit too salty what I ordered, friendly staff. Average place.
Loved my food here. Got the steak on a plate of French fries and some au jus on the side and crushed it. Absolutely delicious. Waiter staff super attentive. Will be bac
This is a place for a more upscale ambiance and the price also reflects that. The service and atmosphere is equally great, but the food isnt much to write home about. However, theyre conveniently at a great location by the waterfront!
Had a really great time. Service is quick and food was great. Crispy seafood app was a little too oily for my taste. Scallop ceviche is the best Ive ever had. Generous portions too! Food : 4/5 |
This was a special occasion. My in-laws were visiting for the first time from Australia, going to their first baseball game. I recommended Miller Tavern because my husband and I had an excellent experience at the other location. We let them know upon arrival we were in a bit of a rush (1hr to eat), and requested a nice table when I made the booking. The notes were not read. We were sat somewhere around the back, next to a loud table, and not visible to anyone else. No server came by to greet, to offer water, nothing. We eventually flagged down a manager delivering drinks to another table. He barely said a word before getting us waters, realizing no one was looking after us. He seemed frazzled, the environment was the staff were drowning. Our view was there were only 2 other tables visible, and a function of sorts that had already finished. I let him know wed let the host know we were a bit in a rush as we were going to the game. He quickly put me in my place and said well so is everyone else in here.... Clearly Im not your VIP, but its not necessary to say that. Itd be sufficient to say well do our best, sorry no ones been by, were a little backed up tonight. Drinks took a while - we only ordered one round, no cocktails. Food was tasty. We never found out who our server was and couldnt find one when we needed one because the section we were in was out of sight. The bussers we flagged down helped us the most. To get us what we were missing and to get us our bill. I felt pretty embarrassed that this was a place I recommended to my in-laws who probably thought gee. This is the best toronto has to offer? Awkward. I hope to go back to the other location some day. We had a great experience there, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, dressed professionally and acted accordingly too. Or maybe we got lucky that day?
Came by for lunch today and realized they renovated. Although the interior was nice. Service was incredibly slow given the place wasn t full. Food was incredibly pricey for what they served. I had the Reuben sandwich and salad. They put way too much sauce on the sandwich and it took 25 mins to come out.
Looked after well
Modern elegant feel right in the heart of the downtown area not far from the lake. The bartenders were professional and the food was good.
Party of 2 walk-in on a Saturday lunch time. No problem getting a table. The staff were very polite and attentive. The outside seating is quite close to the road, making it not the most relaxing so we sat indoors. I had the Tavern Burger, which was excellent..the pattie was pink and the caramelised onions were deliciously sweet. Chucky chips were OK but felt there was probably just a few too many. The club sandwich was also very tasty - was really generously filled. Burger, club sandwich, one pint and 2 glass of prosecco was just over CA$100.
Food was great and the service excellent.
Awesome food and staff
Currently up being sick Had the seafood linguine, it took too long for our food to come (over an hour), service was rushy and felt like they just wanted to close up, really overpriced for quality of food. Just hope I dont get food poisoning as Im on vacation from the UK and it has cost us a lot of money to come here. Disappointing.
Good steak
Convenient Bay St location across from Union Go Bus station and the Rogers Centre. I had the french onion soup and the pot pie. Both were delicious but bit on the pricy side for lunch (>$50). Service was awesome and professional. Great venue for a business lunch.
Great restaurant on Bay Street. Good choice of seafood. Salmon was great !!
Fish and chips was one the worst food I ve ever had in my life, but the ambiance and host was good and welcoming. Servers were little unprofessional and confused, they brought the bill for us twice. Food
Priced like a high-end diner but the service felt more like a Swiss Chalet. Ambience was nice but food and service didnt match up. Food
Great food, good selection of whiskey.
Great to actually be back to a place we went as teenagers. The old pub turned into a higher end restaurant. A little bit loud for an intimate dinner but overall pretty good. Food was acceptable, just found it a little pricey and disorganized the night we dined, maybe just a coincidence, I will give it another chance eventually.
I had a cobb salad last week, it was great but I did not like one thing that the staff did not hear me saying sparking water from tap. I remember I told him twice but I guess he heard only sparking water and then bottle was on the table.Thats weird, but overall food was nice, I did not find the place to hang my jacket, may be it was somewhere in the back but I feel premium places like this should have options someplace near to your table.
Jen was AWESOME as our host. She was patient with my endless questions about drinks, food, and preferences. It made for a great first meal out in Toronto! THANK YOU JEN! Dietary restrictions: One of our party has some dietary restrictions and still had plenty to choose from on the menu.
The Cobb salad was great. Would be nice to have it in a wider bowl so it can be mixed with dressing a bit easier. Thanks!
A good place
Great service and the fries are amazing!!
Really yummy chicken
Food was Fantastic! Service was exceptional
A lovely spot for a drink in the Distillery District. Especially nice and warm on a cold December night. I was off the booze and my selection was limited and I just ended up having a ginger beer.
At Miller Tavern, the Caesar salad served as a delightful prelude, with crisp freshness and a well-balanced dressing. The main course of fish and chips surpassed expectations, offering a harmonious blend of crispy batter and tender fish. The dining experience was elevated by the inviting ambiance and attentive service, making it a memorable culinary venture.
Food quality was terrible, my client I was hosting ordered the pot pie and under the crust there was an about 3tbsp of stew and 2 pieces of beef. The waiter couldn t even say hello and had nothing friendly to say. When we finally flagged him down asking for sparkling water, he just said oh we ran out so lame. I work in sales at cibc square and the location was great but after this I m just not including this in my restaurant options for hosting clients anymore.
It was busy, yet service was quick and the experience unrushed. Food was excellent and I would recommend it if youre in the area.
Expensive but worth it! The Shepards pie is amazing and so was the service!
We ate here with our friends for a birthday celebration. The food was top quality. We were heading to a Leafs game and they were quick to accommodate our time restraint.
Love this place. The food was excellent and the servers were great!
