Came in for lunch all you can eat and was very happy with the options available! Really good selection that didn't make us feel that Allllllll the good things were locked behind the dinner price. Great selection of desserts that wasn't just 3 flavors of ice-cream. Would recommend the steak teriyaki!
By far my favourite place for sushi! Definitely becoming my regular place. Both lunch and dinner menus are fantastic. All their rolls delicious and food quality always remains consistent. They have the best miso soup I’ve tried…. Always end up having 3-4 bowls for myself it’s that good! The service is great and they have an excellent atmosphere.
Food was very mediocre. Beef and pork were not fresh. Fish was ok. Enjoyed only the steamed chive and shrimp dumplings. The servers were friendly, but on server with glasses brought up food (sushi) with dirty dishes that he collected from other table. Very gross!
Really high quality all you can eat sushi with very fast service. Be aware that as soon as you sit down, you have 90min before your service ends so make the most of it! There is also a wagyu beef option, but only limited to one order per person. Overall a great meal! PS: They accept discounts, but you need a valid student ID and cash.
Very fast and friendly service. Decent price, given this is in downtown Toronto. Most of the menu options taste amazing, there were only a couple of things we didn’t like: the salmon/avocado hand roll and the “waygu” steak. Some of the items we ordered didn’t come and we had to order again, but given the fast service, this wasn’t too much of an issue. I would highly recommend coming here for your all-you-can-eat sushi cravings!
Drove all the way downtown because this was the latest all you can eat restaurant open. With a last call at 11:30pm, we came around 9 on a Saturday night as a group of 3 and were seated quickly. Staff members are very alert of the tables and make sure you feel seen. Food was better than I expected. One dish that really stood out to me was the taco, really good flavours and portions - but I did order it a second time and was a little bit disappointed, portion was about half the size of the first one. More intimate setting than most all you can eat spots. Probably would not be the best for big groups. Great service and good food, will be back!

The dimsum was my favourite. Chris was our favourite server ! So attentive and kind. We’ll be back for sure ! Tip: dinner from Monday to Thursday is a bit cheaper and there’s a discount for your birthday !
I had travelled from north York to China town and I believed it was really worth the trip. Food was in high quality, service was excellent and the utensils were clean. Ice cream was come in just right while most of the AYCE would serve half melted ice cream. I will visit again soon. Thanks for all good work from those who worked in this restaurant. But lunch menu seems a bit short of selection, and for myself it is more than enough.

Great experience eating at August 8 on Spadina. Nolan was a great server. Complimentary tea was a plus. Sushi was fresh and dinner was filling and satisfying. Will be coming back!!
August 8? More like August ate, because I def ate well here. Tripe and spare ribs and unagi sushi for the win. Cheesecake fiends make note that the cheesecake is limited one per person.
You must reserve in advance to guarantee an amazing AYCE experience. For the quality and freshness of their food, August 8 is a great option when you re craving the ultimate sushi + dim-sum experience!

August 8 is easily my favourite AYCE sushi in Toronto. Food is always fresh, service is great and the atmosphere is just right.
August 8 is a very reliably excellent ayce Suhail. Every item we order is very good and theyre always adding new menu items to keep things different. We especially love the nigiris, black dragon roll, tempura, cheese wontons, salmon belly and fried banana. The sashimi can sometimes be mid, and the bacon wrapped scallops are sometimes hit or miss (with regards to them being excellent, theyre always at least fine). The service is very quick, attentive, and respectful. After trying at least 5 places, this is definitely my go-to for ayce sushi in Toronto mostly due to the wide variety of options and the consistent quality and service.

This place had a very Squid Game vibe to it. As soon as we were seated, our waiter dumped a bunch of rules on us: we MUST finish eating by a certain amount of time, we WILL be charged for leftovers + we WILL be paying the evening price menu (even though we came before lunch last call). I understand that rules are rules, but it certainly did not feel very welcoming. There definitely was a better way of delivering it. The food was standard - I liked their fried food options more than sushi options. Still, everything was quite delicious - except for skewers Their ordering tablets are fun and can be hanged on the table to free place for food. Service was a bit slow overall. Probably will not be coming back bc I dont like feeling stressed when Im eating - and especially paying to eat.
Cute place, food was tasty. Our table had a lot of food allergies so I think that pissed off the servers. It was so hot that someone asked to lower it, but then it got so cold that we were all in jackets inside. I dont know to be honest the experience didnt convince me I dont think I would come back because of the service nor the food, maybe I would only go back for he price ($30 all you can eat before 3pm) The customer service was a bit disappointing, they didnt smile, they didnt check on us, they didnt make us feel fully comfortable or welcomed. Then even the dishes were thrown on the table with no manners or without saying the name of the them.. I dont know really
This is my go to sushi spot when Im looking to treat myself. Extensive lunch menu and an even larger dinner menu. Quality is much better than the other Downtown AYCE spots. Centrally located in Chinatown as well.
The AYCE quality has dropped significantly, not fresh or tasty. I got food poisoning after eating here

Food was delicious, everything came out in a very timely manner, ate myself into a food coma. It was a little jarring in the evening when the lights started to dim and music turned up but the vibe was still good and we were able to get into it, but if you want a more chill vibe def try to arrive earlier

Went during lunch for AYCE, its too bad the sashimi is only available in the dinner menu. The dim sum was good but overall a fine AYCE location. Orders are done through a tablet.
Other locations, particularly the Eglinton one in Scarborough are much better. The space here is really small so you feel crammed next to strangers. Service could be faster and more efficient. Food OK, but again the experience at the Scarborough location is superior.

Im speechless. The boss is so good at being a good person. It tasted delicious ten months ago, and it was OK five months ago, but today it tastes really bad! The salmon tasted worse than what I ate at the food court across from OCAD. Generally speaking, you can t tell whether the salmon is good or bad. The rice was hard and hard for a long time. Overall, it was very weird and I couldn t eat it at all. In the end, there was a lot left because it was really unpalatable!
Nolan was so welcoming and helpful with our needs and services. His Attentiveness to our table was so needed because we were such a handful Lol. Thanks for the great Experience Nolan!

Pretty high quality fish and ingredients. Only feedback is that they should toast the shell on their tacos as it was a little chewy.

Went here for lunch. Foods were good and tasty but they were pretty salty and probably loaded with MSG. I was looking forward to eat the Tacos but it wasn t for me. Chicken wings and August 8 Fried rice were the top ones for us.

I had an amazing dining experience at August 8 Downtown All You Can Eat! The variety of dishes available was impressive, and everything I tried was delicious and fresh. The sushi was top-notch, and the hot dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Not all clients can be satisfied with the food when its overcooked. Unfortunately, our delivery arrived with the worst quality. The chicken was so dry it was falling apart, leaving behind hard and chewy meat. That cooking level is not acceptable.

Yutaka and Ben created an incredible experience for us at August 8. Timely service on what may be the busiest day of the year with incredible food to boot. The sashimi cuts were very generous, fresh, and were delicious. When we lost something Ben and Yutaka went out of their way on labour day to help us find it! Just incredible people and and an incredible dining experience.
The food, atmosphere and food were all brilliant. Ben and Yutaka stood out as they helped me find my retainer that was accidentally placed in the bin there. Amazing service.

The first meal from my flight back and I ordered chicken katsu bowl with pork dumplings. I hadn t eaten in 12 hrs. I woke up and a few hours later I started pissing out both ends and being admitted to the hospital. I got food poisoning and now I m writing this review from my bed in hopes of saving the next person to order from this place. Tasted great but I guess everything tastes great when you re starving. Hope the name of your restaurant marks the day you guys close next.
The meat had a very weird taste and the sushis didn t taste right. They offer free drinks for reviews. I don t recommend this ayce since their food is mediocre at best.

I think this restaurant is one of the best Asian AYCE places that I have tried so far. It seems a bit on the pricier side than other places but I definitely think it s worth it since the food variety is unbeatable. I would definitely visit this place again.
