1612 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M4G 3B7, Canada
A range of sushi & sashimi offered with teriyakis & noodles, plus lunch specials, in a quaint space.
Best gem in Leaside. Amazing food, everything is always fresh and you will never be disappointed!
Good food very very good service. I like how steaming hot the edamame were with fresh sea salt. The black dragon roll was delicious. I look forward to exploring some of the other menu items especially the noodles
Amazing sushi restaurant, super fresh fish, and don’t order from the menu, but ask for recommendations from server or owner, kinda like omakase (chef choice) on most fresh ingredients of the day. Some items you have to pre-order a few days in advanced (like the Kinmedai sashimi and soup - splendid alfonsino and whole uni). The Eglington roll is our go to as well. The smoked salmon is also super rich with flavor, along with presentation. California roll is for kids, order the real stuff for adults and you won’t be disappointed. Don’t ask for price, you get what you paid for. 😁 Highly recommended!
I have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years and for one very good reason - Consistency. Whether it is food quality, taste, or service, they are consistently great. I love how the price doesn’t reflect the food quality. For the food quality they serve, they can charge more but they don’t. They cater to the avid Japanese food lovers with their omakase selection as well as the more simple and practical customers. Some days I feel like having a more fancy meal and some days I just want a steak teriyaki - both are excellent choices. It has a cozy and warm environment and two patios to serve their guests. Highly recommend this place for a night where you don’t feel like cooking or a date night with that special someone. Btw my ALL TIME FAV is the Foie gras sushi ❤️
Best of the best in Toronto. It’s unlike Michelin star rated or other expensive omakase restaurants, but way underrated and cost-effective. High quality food with decent service!
First time trying this restaurant without looking at any review online, turned out it is a really great cozy place to eat alone during non-peak hours! Ordered their fried chicken udon and a salmon avocado hand roll! Generous portion and tasty food :)
Tempura, chirashi don, mango salmon roll, avocado salmon tobiko roll, miso soup, salad, unagi don were all delicious and fresh. Fish was fatty and yummy, especially the fatty tuna! I never had such delicious tuna before. And Tempura was crispy. Services were also perfect. But only udon soup tasted a little heavy on soy sauce, and oyako don’s rice was a bit hard. Also sushi’s fish was not cold, maybe because they made it so slowly or the rice was so hot.
I got a dinner chicken bento box. The portions were generous given today’s economy and inflation. The chicken was well cooked and juicy, and was placed on a bed of bean sprouts and broccoli. I wish the sauce had a little bit more flavour… or more sauce. The tempura shrimp was definitely more shrimp than panco/tempura batter, which is a good thing, but the tempura sauce I wished was a little bit more savoy. The roll that came with this bento is 10/10, fresh and crispy. The service was great too, always attentive which I appreciate a lot.
Amazing food, like seriously outstanding. I usually order takeout from this place and thought to try dinning in, however their service was lackluster. Ive never felt this unwelcomed in a restaurant before. Editing my review because of the racist treatment. I didnt think it was racism u til other people started noticing it. Looking back I was definitely racially profiled and given poor service because of it. There are so many better sushi places 5 minutes away. Avoid Fukui Sushi.
Overpriced. not so good, not so fresh. Just save your money and get it from Metro.
They do a great job
Pet friendly patio With excellent food ! Food
The service is very good The food is also quite fresh. Overall it s good
Sushi was fresh and the service was very fast
Amazing Food and Extremely Excellent Service. Highly Recommend People to try it.
I ordered several items from Uber Eats and they were delicious!
Poor service, overpriced, bad taste
Exceptional and outstanding every time!
Terrible, extremely racist people, treatment with total indifference being visible at another table, I was with Indian friends and we noticed that the treatment started to be based on the color of my friends skin, very rude and disrespectful, soyo sauce was not nice in addition to the food with an old taste, rice seasoned with a lot of vinegar... the whole experience was terrible, from the moment we sat down until we left. We will never return
I went to the restaurant with my sister today. The service was pathetic and I could sense the rasicm or some kind of discrimination. I noticed that the servers were very kind and jolly with other white or asian customers. But the way we were served the food, water, and the cheque was evidently weird and rude. I wouldnt recommend brown people to go there because the servers will definitely give you a weird stare and pathetic service.
The food is fresh and the service is very good and the presentation is wonderful. A truely gem in the area. Menu choice is limited try to ask for daily special from the chef or the server.
When we ordered our platter the fish was not fresh, and the premium platter had nothing premium in it. Will not come back.
Sushi is always fresh and reasonable prices. Our go to Japanese restaurant.
We get takeout and do dine in here. This place is so so so amazingly delicious and fresh!! Some of the tastiest sushi I ve had in my life!! Service is so friendly and kind and attentive. Love the atmosphere, it s cozy and warm and never feel rushed or too hectic. Favourite sushi in bayview village and Davisville, maybe even all of Toronto THANK YOU!!! See you soon we got the bayview roll (my fave), makimono set B, and the salmon lover set. We also had the blueberry pudding so good!!
Excellent sushi spot for takeout or dine in. Friendly service, calm atmosphere and lots of green tea Having eaten there several times, the food is consistently delicious and the staff are kind. Thank you!
The food was so fresh and tasty, and our waitress was very friendly. Would recommend trying the eggplant, I ve never been a huge fan of eggplant but this was delicious. Also the grilled mackerel was also very good. Ps. Great taste in music
Great experience! Lovely staff and amazing food.
Everything on the menu is fresh, presentation is excellent and prices are reasonable. Service is attentive and surroundings are pleasant. A little gem on Bayview. A thoroughly enjoyable experience
Really fresh tasting fish and good bang for buck
Amazing sushi on Bayview Ave. Amazing quality and freshness in their perfect portions. My family of 4 enjoyed some various bento boxes and left completely satisfied.
My experience at Fukui Sushi was great. We dined in for dinner. We spent 25$per person. We thought it was a fair price considering the times. We recommend fish sashimi maso soup tuna salmon the plotter. Not sure about the wheelchair. Will update next time Im there. Service was great Recommended dishes
Great food. Super fresh.
The food was amazing! In fact, the best food Ive ever had from a restaurant! Service was surprisingly good for the small amount of people, the ingredients are high-quality and always fresh, highly recommended to anyone!
The worst store owner
One of disgusting food and misbehaving stuff
Awful and disrespectful people
I have seen many times hairs in the dishes
Unreliable and no cleanses in the restaurant and high prices with cheap awful foods
Was just checking the review before going there but i dont know if the owner tries to be funny but responese to some of the complaints about the quality of the food screas bad customer service.will not be visiting for sure
Very bad restaurant.
Nice little place.
Delicious food, excellent service, definitely you need to try it!
Took away from this restaurant a chirashi don. Not sure why but it just tasted average, maybe a lack of seasoning in the rice..
Avoid at all cost! The worst sushi I have ever had in my life. The Sushi roll looked like they have been regurgitated by a bird and tasted even worse. I honestly do not know how this place has an above 4 rating.
Yam avo roll was good, wasnt as crazy about the spicy salmon. But my husband liked it
Good midtown location, spacious and renovated, lots of good food selection. Sushi and cooked food are tasty. Reasonable price. About $40 pp.
Not many people could see the fish before cutting, this one was shipped by air from Japan directly, its eyes were spongy , thats how fresh it was
I had ordered rolls and didn t realize sashimi was a part of the order. Soon after realizing this, I had gone back to ask for any possible accommodation as I wasn t keen on eating raw fish. Chef Kris/Chris not only had the sashimi torched by another staff but also provided extra set of rolls free of charge. All this was done after closing as well. The food was impeccable and their service was beyond that I will gladly go back
Been visiting for years, consistently great experience. Staff are very friendly.
Great tasting sushi , both times I went, it was fresh and quick.
Good service and fresh sushi
Non-descript little place that was a nice change from the business of downtown. Had a large sushi platter out on the patio. Sushi was decent, the tempura I thought was exceptional. Overall food was good, pricing was more than fair but most of all the service was absolutely spot-on. Almost like being in Japan with level of attention. Will return. Arigato.
Good food, quick and reliable service. Taste a bit bland and pricey for what it is.
Thats premium sushi for $51 premium meaning their fish is from Loblaws? not from T&T ?! lol. If you want this type of sushi go to Loblaws and save your $$ .I noticed if its not stated Japanese but Asian ...usually sushi are grocery store quality and bad . p.s and I think their wasabi with ginger are re used from the plates that people didnt use. Because its just has sour foul smell. Just went straight to the garbage the whole order.Very disappointed
Best sushi ever and cozy little spot. Could improve on the ambience, but its expected.
I order takeout every Friday It is always fresh well prepared, and they are very pleasant people to work with
Delicious! High quality, fresh, fast and honest
The go to place for Japanese food. Everything is fresh and staffs are friendly and professional! Highly recommend.
Fresh sushi and fast service, would highly recommend !! :D
Excellent sushi, very fresh and delicious.
I love this place! Yummiest sushi and awesome staff
Great place for sushi!
Came here for a quick dinner. The restaurant is quite tight on space and the seats are in the back. I believe they do have a patio setting outside in the back but I was here in the winter and it was closed. What sets this place apart is the food. It was really good sushi. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They did offer some suggestions. Overall I would return if I am in the area. Excellent dishes.
Best sushi restaurant in Toronto hands down. My family has been going for over 10 years and absolutely love it!
I ordered the 13 piece sashimi and it was underwhelming considering the price. It didnt taste very fresh. The wasabi for some reason didnt even come apart in the soy sauce, it just stayed glued together. I personally think there are better sushi places out there so unfortunately, this joint wasnt for me.
Extremely consistent neighbourhood spot have been eating here for years. Great tempura and rolls, dinner combos are of good value. Generous portions and fresh ingredients, always recommended when you re around the bayview strip
I order chicken udon soup. It was tasteless. No flavour , so spice, no salt in the soup. Could not eat it all. Noodles were uncooked, soup was like water, and chickens inside were uncooked. Literally they were pink and oily. For 16cad, I had better soups in food courts. Not going there again.
Great food and service
Great food and service!!
Good quality sushi but a bit overpriced and service could be a little more attentive. Their beef enoki is amazing!
I used to come here practically every other week and stopped coming due to the Covid-19 closure. Now they reworked the menu and no longer have a lunch menu. The prices are very high, I was wondering why there was no one there at 12 since the day was nice and other locations near it looked really busy, but now I know. I told them I had to go and offered to pay for the tea which I did not try. Too bad at least the renovations were nice. But the business will suffer if its not competitive.
Amazing Japanese food! Good value and high quality ingredients. Overall, all around deliciousness. Would highly recommend
The fish soup wasn t good at all, we couldn t eat it. The waiter asked us twice if we liked it, got negative answer and yet charged us for it why asking then
Good food, super friendly staff and great service! Particularly like their spicy salmon rolls.
Always a favourite for fresh sashimi.
Delicious and fresh sushi.
Thank you for my friend s recommendation. It has now become my favorite Omakase place Good area, clean and knowledgeable servers. Have a great time!
The sushi was the perfect mix of texture, taste, crispy bits and all around ratio of ingredients. I ve been here 5 times now and the food has been consistently delicious. Service is prompt, ingredients taste like quality - really, this leaves nothing to be desired. Happy to recommend.
Friendly service and delicious food. Everything was wonderful!
Good value for price
Great quality and customer service
Decent and nice. I was pleasantly surprised by their super clean bathroom !
They are always waiting uber eats orders. They are so slow.
I ordered sushi dinner 12 pieces ($17.95). When I came home, I opened the plastic bag and this is what I found. For me, this is 6 pieces of sushi with 6 pieces of maki. I called the restaurant to confirm whether this is the right food I ordered or not. They said since Maki is considered as sushi, this is total 12 pieces of sushi dinner . I asked them to correct their description on their website since this is not what I wanted to have for my dinner tonight. I wanted to order 12 pieces of SUSHI. Anyway, if you wanna order only sushi, don t try their sushi dinner .
Great sushi on Bayview. Found my new go to spot in midtown. Since I nixed my usual go to spot on Yonge north of Davisville because of supposed supreme sushi that no longer held up to its name, I was searching for a new local Japanese place, and found Fukui. A little bit more expensive, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Fukui fit the criteria for what I was looking for. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Beautifully prepared and ready in 15 mins for pick up. Ill be back.
Fresh fish and very authentic. Im always satisfied quality food and service.
8 slices of salmon and not even fresh for $19? 10 pieces of small fried chicken for $13 ARE U KIDDING ME???!!! I must ve been out of my mind to choose this restaurant.
terrible service
This is our neighbourhood choice for really GOOD sushi midtown. Sadly there area h authentic sushi places mid town and this restaurant has both good service and good value!
Absolutely my favourite sushi place!
I got it from Xiaohongshu. It s not very tasty. The guards need to improve. There s dirt on the plates and cups.
Excellent restaurant, excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambience Will definitely be returning The food was very tasty! Our server, Jin, was so so so polite. He ensured we had everything we needed and also provided some good recommendations. 100% recommend this restaurant
The pickup was smooth. Sushi is not fresh. Quantity is comparable low than our best sushi spots in downtown. We found a wire from the steel wire ball in the middle of a sushi.
Good sushi fast service. Some of the portions as moderate to small but satisfactory. I go often
After 18 years of Fukui Sushi being our favourite Japanese restaurant in all of Toronto, Im not about to change my mind now. The food is always good and the welcome from the staff every time we go there is like coming home. Now about the food... You must try a Toronto Roll. Nothing Ive ever had can touch it. The food is always great and we have never been disappointed in all of those 18 years. Excellent restaurant.
Best Japanese Restaurant in GTA
I ordered takeout Chirashi Don, with soup salad and and extra salmon hand roll. The order process online was super easy and worked well, the food was absolutely delicious. Very fresh fish, and nice mushrooms and pickles added to the Chirashi. I will go again and highly recommend. Prices were standard, although the Chirashi Don and à few other items were a very good price. AND they took my food allergy very seriously.
The sushi is quiet decent, but nothing too fancy. Uninspiring interior decor.
Been going here from day one when it opened. Must say the consistency has never dropped off and the BEST sashimi in town. I do know the owner and he takes his selection of sashimi to the next level. If you are willing to spend a little bit more he will customize the dishes with a different spin on it. I call it the Iron Chef of Toronto. Many friends referred over have raved about how fresh the sashimi is and he sets the standards of excellence.
10 course Omakase is amazing.
This is the best sushi place in midtown. Excellent sashimi and always consistency quality
PRICEY, TIGHT LOCATION, AVERAGE FOOD. Myself and 3 of my friends decided to go here and try this place out. We ordered 2 package orders, that says it comes with soup and salad, only to find out, it comes only with 1 soup and 1 salad, for sushi and sashimi worth over $100
Great little place with reasonably priced, excellent food, friendly service. Probably one of the best choices if you need a fast brunch in the area.
Good food
Awesome sushi. Excellent for takeout. Best value in neighborhood.
One of the better mid town sushi places in my opinion. We bought the 62 piece take out tray and it was enough to feed roughly 3-4 people. I would say their spicy salmon roll is one of the best rolls I have ever had. Highly recommend for both dine in and takeout.
Had the spicy tuna and spicy salmon maki rolls. They were really fresh and tasty. One of the better sushis Ive had in Toronto
Good food for reasonable prices.
This is our go-to spot for sushi! It s a quaint, small, casual location, with a small patio out front in summer/warmer months. Very friendly staff, great service, and amazing quality of food. The sushi is always fresh and they have lots of variety on the menu. Highly recommend Fukui Sushi!
Reasonably Priced and uber fresh, nice find!
sushi was stale. the rice was undercooked.
This is my favourite local sushi place. Great service. Great food. Highly recommended!
Becuz of the raw fish was what I likes about her. Crispy things also. /mmmmm
The same excellent service and environment as usual. The best choice for a safe dining place during the epidemic.
The sushi and sashimi are so fresh and delicious. The service has never failed, a great place to go on any occasion.
Price: 7/10 Quality: 4/10 Presentation: 3/10 Portions: 2/10 Service: Slow. You have to wait outside for people ahead of you to ask questions, order for a family of 10, pay for the order, while your food is ready sitting there for 10 minutes. Not an efficient setup. They should bring the food outside while we are waiting since they can see us through the window. Was disappointed in the quality and what I ordered. Paid for Sushi Dinner (12 pieces), got 6 pieces of Sushi and 6 pieces of salmon maki that wasnt even put together well. The pieces were tiny, falling apart and basically just felt ripped off. Not sure why I got the maki instead of 6 more pieces. Some fish were dry, octopus was not fresh had to spit it out. I didnt bother eating the rest. Didnt want to take a chance. On the bright side the salad was fresh and dressing tasted nice. Soup was good. Will definitely not come back here.
Been going to them for years. Food is consistently good and reliable.
Awesome
Great good and great service. Always service with a smile, even amidst COVID and the stresses that this brings. Prices are a bit higher than other sushi places on the block, but definitely worth it. I love their chirashi don... it may be sushi night tonight!!
Still the best Sushi place walking distance from my families house. Also 1 of the first Sushi places to open up on Bayview.
Ordered a meal off ubereats from this place. It was advertised as a sashimi omakase for $75. Definitely NOT worth the $$$, you literally get 12 pieces of fish. Will not order or eat here anymore. Stay away.
Favorite local sushi spot
Never really explored anything in midtown. Didn t expect such goodies here. The restaurant doesn t have many tables and is actually a bit crowded and noisy during dinner time. The waiter/manager with us was really nice and patient. He carefully introduced us with his recommendation dishes and even send some fresh fish soup on the house.
Fresh
Pretty good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
Great authentic Sushi.
Cozy place for lunch and dinner. The Teriyaki Chicken and Sashimi Bowl are well prepared and value for $. Not so for the Katsu Don (great if the meat can be less fat and lean)
Very good food!
Chirashi Don was awesome!
The atmosphere is pretty basic, not too much seating. I had the Bento Box and it was pretty good. The only downside side is that it was a little expensive ($14 for lunch special).
Excellent service and food, with a good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and smiling the entire time.
Great spot
Wonderful food here. The best gyoza in town!
Best Sushi, Best Service in the entire Toronto!
Outstanding sushi and sashimi. Not cheap but definitely quality with great service. Small number of tables so be sure to reserve a spot. You will not be disappointed. 5 stars.
Great friendly staff.. service is quick.. sushi was ok.. not the freshest
Its always tough call between 4 and 5 stars since 5 stars should be best of the best. But the friendly service and the fresh salmon and tuna just hit it out of the park here. We ordered a sashimi platter, all the fish was fresh and flavorful while the rainbow dragon had perfect amount of rice to fish/veggies. Highly recommended.
I was running errands on Bayview Avenue when I noticed the sign for this place. After a good chuckle, I decided to try it out. Sampled three maki rolls. I really enjoyed the one with the mango inside - delightful combination of fruit with seafood. Its a small place so you get served quite quickly. Enjoyed a late lunch on the patio. I would definitely repeat when I am in the area.Good portion sized and reasonably priced. Excellent choice for all you sushi lovers out there.
Excellent food with friendly service
Affordable price, friendly service,
Sushi was top notch, prices reasonable, but be aware the place is tiny and seating is limited.
Food is good but not very competitive. One of the best places in Toronto.
Very nice Japanese restaurant. Small but cozy and food is superb !
Great food, great owners and service, a little too pricey
Always great sushi, with great staff. Lots of options, love getting the eggplant skewers! Keep coming back because of how good and fresh the food is. I never get let down
I had an overall positive experience here. I walked into this restaurant for my lunch break and ordered off of their lunch menu. I was craving sushi and ordered the basic maki lunch set. It consisted of 3 pieces each of salmon sushi, tuna sushi, a California-type sushi, and cucumber sushi. The ratio of filling to rice was just right. The sushi rice had adequate seasoning and the fish was very fresh.
Friendly service and great food!
Great, cozy sushi restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and great customer service. The rolls are well made with an assortment of flavours. The Toronto roll was very tasty. I also really recommend the spicy salmon bomb which is a mixture of salmon, rice, veggies that are added to seaweed to make your own hand roll. ! We will be back again to try other items on the menu!
Been going to Fukui for a very long time. The people who work here are super friendly and awesome! I always look forward to ordering from Fukui!
very nice service and high quality food supplied
We were in a rush ... service was and food was great. Will definitely go back.
Love sushi!
First time. Quality and taste on point. Not many sushi places know how to properly do tempura these days but these guys nailed it. We will be back.
Highly recommend the fresh uni here and the Omakase sushi and sashimi where the chef gives you the fresh fish for the day. Quick service nice people can get busy on weekends so reservations recommended.
This is our favourite local sushi place! Quality and service are always excellent. You receive food within minutes of ordering, even when the restaurant is at capacity. The staff always greet you with a smile, and are always helpful and professional. Wouldnt consider going anywhere else! :)
Great food and service
Went went a last year and it was fantastic. Extremely friendly, homely atmosphere. Attentive service, nice ambience. Sushi was top quality and includes brown rice! Excellent restaurant, will be going back.
One of the Best sushi outside of Japan seriously. Must try if you re looking for an authentic and fresh fare.
During dinner, I recommend calling in for reservations because this little place is always busy from dining in to pick up. Rightly so. The sashimi fish is so fresh, donburri is a lot and tasty. The manager was on the ball with the best service I ve had at a sushi place
