Never go in this restaurant.. i was waiting pick up and they told me to wait outside like a dog. also they told me 2 minutes and waiting more 10 minutes. Staf so rude ! Food

Ive ordered takeout from this restaurant many times as its close to my office. Everything Ive had has been very good. I particularly love the spicy salmon nori tacos and the salmon poke bowl is also great.

Consistently great service and very high quality food. Sushi and sashimi are very fresh. Tempura and karaage (fried chicken) are excellent - not too oily and respect the flavours of the ingredients. Wafu pasta are nice fusion option which I can say it reminds me of what I had in Tokyo. They do get busy because they are one of the best places for dining out in the neighbourhood. Highly recommend.

They ll ignore you if they think you can t afford their food. Other customers were given water and asked if they wanted some drinks to begin with, immediately upon being seated, got their glass refilled multiple times, got checked in on we were visibly skipped every single time and had to call their attention. Like it was blatant. Disappointing because the food was good.

I ve tried this place once and had been dreaming about their miso shrimp pasta as it was absolutely delicious. Asked my boyfriend to go to here just for their amazing pasta

Ive eaten here three times and enjoyed it once. My biggest critique to the food is that its over-dressed, and forsakes the expected flavor. Nice if you want some chef creativity, but ultimately the novel flavor impositions detract from the dishes. Tonight I had unagi don, which took 45min for takeaway. It was good meat, but they absolutely coated it in ginger chips and toasted garlic, which kinda ruined it. Cant taste the delicate eel, or the sweet sauce when your mouth is blasted with such sharp aroma.

Love this place. The nori tacos esp and do the three shellfish roll! Cheesecake is also incredible.

From NYC, where we have some incredible sushi. Visiting Toronto and was craving some sushi, and noticed Hay had god reviews on Google/Uber. Ordered delivery and it was trash. Rice hard and basically stale. Chef would be fired in Japan, NYC, or anyplace in the world with that. Blue Fin Toro Belly flavorless, stringy, and was definitely frozen prior and perhaps not even tuna. Got robbed. Tuna Poke Bowl. How in the world is their #1 rated item? Overly sweet sauce just covers the old veggies that get thrown in. The only thing they kinda did right was the chicken katsu but it s pretty hard to make a mistake with that.

This is a great sushi restaurant in Toronto with the highest quality and friendliness of the staff. This is a fresh and flavorful restaurant.

They serve truly delicious and beautiful Sushi and other items. I havent tasted something so well prepared and fresh in a long time. Also the presentation is just beautiful. The atmosphere is really nice. Its a rather small place but well-designed. Absolutely love the Live Edge wooden tables. It would be nice if they would have wiped it down between servings, like before the desert.

Salmon Avocado roll is 10/10 Torched salmon sushi is nice, not to crazy or special. Missing a smoky taste Ikura sushi is nice as well. The eggs were a bit flavorless Food : 4/5

The food is nice but the staff are quite cold And dont accommodate allergies A item that is listing available to change depending on availability they try to charge two dollars for a change, even if its for an item that cost less on their à la cart menu. I have to change it because due to allergy l trying to charge me on a menu that is open to change I said forget about it. Just give me nine pieces instead of ten. When I open my lunch, I have 10 pieces including the item that Im allergic to.

Tried their Eglinton location recently having been in their Spring Garden location previously for takeout. The food was decently portioned but a bit pricey. Their more unique offerings are their Wafu Pasta and Nori Tacos, alone with their Aburi Sushi offerings. The Sukiyaki Pasta was unique in blending Sukiyaki (a traditional Japanese dish) with Italian pasta. Service was decent during a weekend lunch and were fairly courteous in checking in with us. Overall, it s a unique spot to get some Japanese fusion-style offerings outside of sushi.

This place is a bit pricey but also very good so I wouldnt recommend bringing the whole family unless someone else is paying The rolls were nice as to be expected, the avocado salda had a lot of salda and avocado so its good to split. The chicken karaage has a nice and light coating on it so you dont feel too oily and it has a strong marinade flavor that shines through The creamy Miso pasta was a fantastic addition to their menu, I would highly recommend it if you feel up for something flavorful and new. The fish tacos are a must I got the spicey tuna taco and will 100% be getting them again, best way I have ever eaten sushi

Waited 3 hours for my order, worst part is Uber eats kept showing updates 5 minutes, 5 more minutes. They lied about expected delivery. Never ever ordering from them again!!!

Good quality sashimi! Good vibe and the servers are friendly. We love everything about this place. We have to order the sashimi Mori everytime! Gooooood quality. It melt in your mouth. I tried the tempura don for the first time and it blown my mind. The sauce was so yummy and tempura was crispy and perfect together with the rice and sauce! Its definitely become our usual place now.

I made a reservation over the phone for December 26, 2023 and the restaurant is closed! So disappointed. Three stars because the food is good, but terrible customer service to take a reservation on a day that the restaurant isn t open. **update** The restaurant called to apologize for their mistake, which was very polite.

I love Hay Sushi! I ve ordered their large sushi platter a few times through UberEats, and their sushi and rolls are always super fresh and delicious! Their packaging is also very aesthetically pleasing and of high quality. This was my first time dining in, and their lunch menu was equally great, with high quality food for a reasonable price. I ordered the sashimi lunch and my husband ordered the salmon poke bowl. I love hamachi, and was so happy to see it included in the sashimi lunch! The maki roll was also delicious, with a really generous portion of fish! No dinky California rolls here! The service was also very friendly and attentive. Great vibes overall! Would come here all the time if I lived in the neighbourhood.

Came here during Toronto s snow storm , stopping by while visiting a family member down at the west end. Such amazing and nice staff here. The dining area and the washroom are very clean was a plus for me already. Bomy was the person serving us, and she was so sweet. The food tasted very good and portions were appropriate to pricing. Their creamy miso pasta was definitely a go to and will be coming back. Totally recommend to stop by for great sushi and a great time.

The nori tacos were fantastic, great combination of taste and textures. Salmon and hamachi sashimi were both very fresh. Really enjoyed the creamy miso pasta as well which tasted rich and had generous amounts of prawns and masago. Ended the meal with a slice of cheesecake which was light and not too sweet. Great food and cozy ambience. Would definitely visit again!

Went with my boyfriend on a Saturday evening when the restaurant seemed to be majority empty, and were seated immediately without a reservation; ordered two miso soups and one avacado/tomato salad to start, and one salmon nori taco order as a main (one order contains two pieces). We were going to order more but the tacos were quite filling! The food was delicious. The salad was extremely refreshing and their apricot dressing was tangy and sweet in all the right ways. The tacos had sweetened raw salmon on top of a bed of warm rice that was dipped in a sweet and salty sauce. Definitely a unique style! The service and atmosphere were both great. The waiters were upbeat and friendly. It seems like a family friendly place and the music wasnt too loud so we could hear each other just fine. The total came out to less than 40$ total with tips. Were planning to come back to try their pastas. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! Kid-friendliness: A family came in just before us and the waiters interacted positively with the children - it was very cute. The music playing is generally inoffensive top 50 types and wasnt too loud. I am not sure about kids menus.

It is the best sushi place in Toronto. Their sushi, sashimi, rolls and tempura are all fantastic. I am very picky with sushi and sashimi, but they use amazing quality fish. They also seem to use very clean cooking oil as their tempura is always crispy and fresh. This is my #1 favorite japanese restaurant in Toronto.

One of my favourite spots but this was the first visiting the following Eglinton branch. This is a new branch with a great ambience. Service was up to par as expected and we enjoyed the food. We had the miso soup (very good), Ebi Mayo (deep fried black Tiger shrimp - very good), spicy tuna nori taco (seaweed tacos - my fav, loved it) and the set menu of 6pc sushi + 6 daily maki (also very good). I d say as I love the nori tacos, the one I had, had too much rice, regardless it was amazing. I would definitely come again! Keep it up! Love this place.

Simply delicious!!! The best sushi I have eaten so far in Toronto. Super punctual home delivery, beautiful packaging and the quality of the food is on another level, with fresh produce and everything tasty. I loved it! I highly recommend it.

We have had their sushi before and went for the dine-in experience this time. Everything was great, definitely not your typical sushi restaurant. Its a little hidden gem along Eglinton West (closer to Yonge line) They put a twist on every dish and their plating was very unique in our opinion, we loved it! (They also carry the classic roles if anyone wants to play it safer )

Ive ordered take out from Hay Sushi twice and the first time was great. However, I ordered some Salmon Avocado sushi the other day and found a bone inside the salmon....Ive frequently ate sushi since I was in highschool and Ive never had this before...

Possibly the best sushi / japanese food ive had in the GTA. What I love about their menu is that they have your more classic sushi, but they also have very unique items. I got two sushi tacos (steak, spicy tuna), miso cream pasta, and a shrimp salad(?) Everything was amazing but the cream pasta was the standout. Not to mention, the service is great and the interior is really nice and clean. This is a great spot for a date or just to casually enjoy really good food. 5/5 easily.

Fantastic take on Japanese fusion. The the dishes we had were amazing from the Beef/Seaweed wrapped tacos to the Miso Pasta and the Salmon Donburi bowl. We will be back for sure!

First time dining-in at Eglinton location. Compare to others, this one is the most spacious! Food and service were both pleasant experience as always. They have larger tables that could accommodate a larger groups. Would recommend this place to anyone who s in the area

Hay Sushi has become one of my go to spots for good sushi. I look at sushi as different tiers, at certain price points you get a higher quality of fish at higher price points than lower. And Hay sushi is somewhere on the higher end but not too high. The quality of the fish is excellent, I normally go for the sashimi moriwase, but was feeling like rice so got hwaedupbap and wife got a combo. All their fish is excellent, fresh, and a variety of different kinds. One of my favourites is the sea bream, it is such a tasty fish. The Hwaedupbap is like the Korean version of a chirashi bowl, and the fish prepared and the toppings alongside it were all fresh and tasty. Truly a fishy comfort to my belly. The interior is quite beautiful, I prefer it over the North York location, but they are both beautiful with that wood furnished look. The patio is small, but at least they have the option. Becoming one of my favorites in the city for sure.

I was having my dinner there. The food was okay but since the door was kept open there are several flies flying here and there.

You cannot order online for this restaurant. We just received an order Sunday evening that was placed 1 hour and 40 minutes ago and paid for extra faster service? The Uber driver said he always has to wait for this restaurant. The POKE bowl was half full, my tomato and avocado salad included the core of the tomatoes. Everything looked so unappealing, it did taste good but best to eat in the restaurant and be patient. Don t go when you are really hungry.

In Canada real Japanese food, Sushi is yummy and the Tempura is tasty good also. Weekday have set lunch, but I been that is Sunday. Food plating is beautiful. Canadas delicious Japanese food, certified by Hong Kong people. The sushi plate is beautiful and delicious, the tempura fried batter is delicious, and the frying oil feels clean and has no smell. Transportation is also convenient. You can get to the subway station quickly by bus. Must try organically.

I ordered their 12 sushi tasting plate. Even though when I asked first they said they had all the fish available, when the dish was served one type of fish was substituted with a chewy cooked beef slice. Also, the eel sushi has tiny bones in it.

Tried the mexicana roll, pressed sushi, and takowasabi. The pressed sushi and takowasa were amazing. Mexicana roll wasnt really mexican enough, so was a bit disappointing. But I definitely want to go back and try some other dishes.

Reserve a spot ahead of time. Fish was extremely fresh, and our server was awesome.

Ordered 4pc spicy salmon nori taco, tako wasabi, shrimp tempura, 40pc sashimi moriwase, 2 sets of 12pc special sushi and some other drinks for a group of 4. Everything was on point, absolutely fantastic! The house also served a complementary dish that was not in their menu - I would like to think that it was their own interpretation of ceviche, served with nori. We left stuffed. Hay Sushi has 2 locations in Toronto (Eglington and Yonge/Sheppard), and both locations never disappoint. Honestly, I recommend all of the dish we had. If I have to choose a couple menu for a couple, I would highly recommend to try nori taco and special sushi. I will come back to try their hot food.

Eat sushi quite often and have to say wow this place take s the cake. packaging was great. Presented beautifully. Tastes extremely fresh, like the sushi out west. Definitely my new spot.

3.5 A location I didnt know until now. The interior of the place is soo nice. But their menu is too complicated and the portion of their menu is quite odd. I had the poke and it was covered with mayo. I am a big fan of poke burthis dish.... I couldnt feel any other flavor other than may which was sad. Another thing odd about their menu is that they had pasta when they are a sushi place. It felt kinda weird but when I tried it it was actually quite nice. I would go again sometime.

Delicious sushi and japanese-inspired pastas. The truffle aburi set was varied and the fish was fresh. The miso cream pasta was on the heavy side but still very tasty. The sukiyaki pasta was novel but executed perfectly. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

This is my new favourite sushi place! In addition to the great sushi options, they also have what they call waifu pasta - which are cool fusion Italian/ Japanese spaghetti dishes that are absolutely delicious - and unique miso and rice wrapped sushi tacos, which make a great lunch option. Very affordable and great service as well.

Overall awesome experience! Nice environment, attentive service and great food. I tried several different dishes and thought everything was great! I called ahead to make a reservation. They have a sister location in the Yonge and Finch/Sheppard area but this location seems to have a bit nicer ambience (based on photos online). Moriawase Sashimi Set - the seafood tasted really fresh. My party really enjoyed the squid, sea bream and scallop. The sashimi set said it came with octopus but I guess they were out that day and subbed it for another fish (wish they told us in advance). Yuzu Salmon and Double Shrimp Oshi Sushi - Great! Definitely recommend this one. Rice to fish ratio was good, and not overly creamy (aka too much mayo sauce). Spicy Salmon Nori Tacos - loved how they lightly battered the nori shell which made it really crispy. There was a good amount of toppings (spicy salmon) in relation to the rice. It also had a spicy kick. Im used to other restaurants listing salmon/tuna/crab/etc. as spicy but is actually mild. Yuzu Scallop Aburi Signature Roll - very tasty and theres a variety of seafood/vegetables used in the roll. Only thing was that the crunchy asparagus in the roll didnt seem to go too well with the other ingredients (personal preference). Sukiyaki Pasta - was enjoyable but a bit too sweet for my taste. It tasted better when piping hot.

I came here with a group of 20 people for my wedding dinner. From the reservation to the actual dinner, they were very accommodating to our specific needs and requests, and the actual dinner experience was also amazing. Id definitely come again

We love the Yum tempura and the sashimi appetizer. We also tried the spicy salmon taco, the seaweed is not crispy, little bit hard to chew. The miso pasta is tasty, but the noodle is little bit hard. The menu price showed on Google is different with your paid price, little bit higher now.
