Great food and very easy to get in and get out

Had a few different menu items delivered via Uber eats. Was good, but not great. $97 for 2 adults and 2 kids with no real leftovers. Dumplings were great, tempura vegetables were meh . Ive been back since this review 4 years ago, and the food improved! tempura has been arriving nice and crispy!

I usually order from another sushi place in the neighbourhood. Decided to give Kibo a try just for a change and was not impressed. I didnt like the big globs of spicy sauce on top of the rolls. I feel like the purpose of this was just to camouflage the mushy filling, which was unrecognizable as salmon or tuna. The soup - I took one sip and threw it out. It didnt taste like Miso soup if thats what it was supposed to be. And the wasabi was definitely fake. Making sushi is an art form. It has to look pretty and taste good too. This did neither.

First time ordering delivery from Kibo, I was surprised with the freshness of the fish. Although it was a delivery, the salmon tasted clean and tender. Should have ordered more sashimi :)

Ordered sushi/sashimi/roll platter for me and my wife. Absolutely disgusting. I mean inedible disgusting. Have ordered from this location in the past and I remember the last time couple times weve ordered from here (2-3 times over the past 6 months) their fish was gross. I thought perhaps we were unlucky and we should give cheap sushi a try... No, this place is just terrible, its not palatable. My wife even spit her food into the napkin went she put the 3rd roll in her mouth. Im done, I cant eat this. Its disgusting. Shes 100% right. Threw the rest out and never buying from here again.

I visited this location today and ordered 2x Spicy Crab Roll. After taking the first bite, I was immediately put off by the foul taste/odor and realized that I was given crab that has gone bad. I called into the store and explained the issue to the clerk but she kept insisting that it was fresh and that there wasnt a foul taste/odor. There is literally no reason for me to lie. I offered to bring my roll in for her to taste it herself but again she insisted that it hasnt gone bad. I have crab sushi very often and I have never experienced this issue. It is quite unfair that my complaint was completely disregarded. I have sent an email to the head office and hope it can actually be resolved.

Great spot for takeout, the maki sushis are delicious! We got a platter and the presentation was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the spicy salmon and kamikaze rolls. Definitely recommend!

Always a good choice for good filling dinner and wonderful sushi. We ordered Bulgogi and salmon Bento Boxes and dynamite sushi roll. Great meal! Pay in cash and you get a discount!

After over six years of enjoying Kibo Sushi, its time to find a new local sushi place. 1) An auto tip was added to our order. We double checked this by testing the software, and sure enough, a 15% tip was being added after clicking purchase. I hope this money makes it to the employees. EDIT: The restaurant contacted me and confirmed that this seems to be an isolated incident. Theyve promised a refund and as far as Im concerned, this is resolved. 2) We generally order the same thing. BC Special Roll and sushi/sashimi combo. Both had reduced portions. The BC Roll, by 50%! The Sushi/Sashimi combo by about 20%. This after a significant price hike about 5 months ago. EDIT: Im told the combo is unchanged, but it felt reduced to me. It may be I was grumpy by this point and was seeing a reduction where there wasnt one. The portion reduction was indirectly acknowledged by the restaurant itself. Our order has always been an order for two and included two sets of chopsticks. Today one set... because this $45 meal was from their perspective, only enough food for one. EDIT: After further research, it seems that theyve changed the menu. Comparing two past receipt to the recent one, heres how things have changed. Nov 2021 10 pc BC Special $14.95 1 Sashimi & Sushi Combo - $16.95 Oct 2022 10 pc BC Maki - $15.95 1 Sashimi & Sushi Combo - $17.95 Total = $33.90 April 2023 5 pc BC Maki - $11.00 1 Sashimi & Sushi Combo - $23.00 Total = $34.00 BC Maki - 38% 1 yr increase; 47% 2 yr increase. 1 Sashimi & Sushi Combo - 28% 1 yr increase; 36% 2 yr increase. Based on some other changes, it appears theres likely a change of ownership. All that said, quality is still good. But just not worth it for what theyre charging. EDIT: Management also let us know that other sushi places in the nieghbourhood have even higher prices. Well have to shop around. It may just mean that well have to re-assess our Friday night Sushi routine.

We usually order from here and it is almost always good but once in a while they are inconsistent. If you like crunchy with your roll, I dont recommend the way they do it here. They fry beets for the crunch and it tasted like a combo of cardboard and metal. I like beets for the record.

Without a doubt this place deserves 5 stars, it is very very good, my girlfriend loves it, it is her second time ordering and she gets happier each time, the first time she brought her a card so that each time she orders she can mark them, so when she has some 10 I think , they give her a %% discount and this time they brought her a mini tray to put the sushi sauce on (KIMLAN), HAHAHAHA, she was so happy and says that if I dont order the sushi from there she doesnt want anything.

Used to be my go to place for sushi before but no more. Ordered their platter thru ubereats at around 7PM. I understand that delivery platform surcharges restaurants for merchants fees but spending more than $80 for food and 3 days of food poisoning is not worth it. You might think it s only one person but no, the three of us were STRUGGLING SO HARD. Not to mention that their sushi was lacking of flavor. Like the spicy roll was full of sauce, couldn t taste the salmon filling at all. Or the raw salmon sashimi was so bland (literally tasteless like you ate a chunk of raw fish, and I guess maybe they used different type of salmon?) YMMV but I believe there are so many (and higher quality) sushi restaurants in Toronto now for you to pick!

Take out order: No chopsticks provided. No soy sauce trays provided. No napkins provided. Sushi rolls came with wasabi already on them without requesting it. Opening the soup container took more than ten seconds with the concern it would spill everywhere. Service was fast and food tasted fresh. Experience downgraded by the above mentioned facts.

too much wasabi

I ordered the salmon lovers on Friday. They randomly gave me spicy salmon maki instead of a salmon maki and they put wasbi in the sushi which was unpleasant. Wasbi should only ever be on the side. It was unclear that wasbi would be added in the sushi. In terms of quality sometimes the sushi is the best in town and other times its just alright. Edit: The website does indicate spicy salmon. Looks like my confusion is the picture showed normal salmon. I guess I should not assume the picture matches the product? I think my feedback is pretty straightforward, and based on a few other reviews about the wasbi, I think its worth listening to your customers feedback rather than saying thats how it is. I also mentioned this to my friends who have ordered the sushi and they have said the same thing. Maybe add an option to confirm if the customer wants wasbi in their sushi? I will still likely order from you, but I will only be ordering maki going forward. I am just disappointed with my most recent order not being what I expected.

Lunch special is great for the value. My colleague and I try to come here once a week. I dont usually eat salad that comes from sushi places but its always fresh here.

The handrolls and sashimi are always prepared fresh upon order, and the tempura and edamame are great additions to any meal. Service is quick and the staff are super friendly as well. Fantastic food and great service! I went to Kibo for the first time on Mothers Day. I miscalculated my evening pick up and they replaced some of my food when I arrived so that it was fresh. Couldnt ask for better service than that, and my mom loved it all! Well be back for sure!

I placed an order for the people I was grateful for, and I was impressed that the people working there were all very kind and even wrote down the requested note in a meticulous manner and delivered it to me. The people who received it gave me a lot of compliments saying that it was really delicious.. Thank you again..^*^ I will use it a lot in the future..

Awesome sushi!

I was home sick all day from my second vaccine and had trouble keeping things down, sitting up and my fever was giving me a super miserable time. Then I Uber ordered Kibo s udon soup. My life changed the second I poured the hot broth in with the noodles as the smell and the temperature was amazing. Eating it was a delight as I shoved spoonful after spoonful of delicious broth and perfectly cooked noodles into my mouth. For those 10 glorious minutes, I forgot about the aches and pains. The amazing thing is that my fever is gone and I feel human again. This soup literally cured me. 10/10 recommend eating after getting your second covid vax.

Worst customer service ever !!!! I walked in nobody had mask on I really dont care about this part but you have big sign saying NO MASK NO SERVICE. Cashier was rude and they told me they are on lunch we dont take orders !!!!!! This is first time im hearing this from a restaurant at 2 pm !!!! Worst customer service !!!

I just went to Kibo Sushi and they refused to serve me. They said that they were too busy??? I then logged on to uber eats and i was able to order from them?? WTF I order frequently from them...I guess they will be one customer less busy now. Too bad they have pretty good take out sushi....

Food is good, but the attitudes are HORRIBLE!! every time I go in there, they act as if I opened their bedroom door unannounced and they re not happy about it. That s probably the only reason I don t go as much anymore, very uncomfortable.

So I just ordered the daily special, and the tuna roll smelled and tasted like fish guts. I took back the order and asked them to replace it with anything else other than the tuna roll. But what they told me was that they could only replace it with the same thing, which is the same fish they have. I asked again, that Im fine with anything else even a salad because Im hungry and have already missed my meeting, but they refused again, and told me they cant do anything about it other than refund me the money (I wasnt thinking of getting a refund, so I didnt have my card with me).

This is a review for delivery: Even then, I cautiously ordered the maki set B ($14.95) where the uncooked ingredient was limited to the salmon in the spicy salmon roll. In hindsight, there was so much tempura bits incorporated into the roll on top and mixed with the salmon that I had little to worry about with the raw fish. Tempura bits are such an oily condiment that can ruin the maki; after wiping off the bits on top, the roll tasted better. The dynamite roll was delicious incorporating a warm tempura shrimp, julienned cucumbers for crunch, avocado, and surimi. Given the rice wasn t too thick, all the ingredients really shone through creating a flavourful bite and the maki is large (10 pieces instead of the typical eight). Compared to everything else, this was the tastiest bite of the evening. Kibo s maki sets also arrive with soup and salad, fairly standard versions of the sides. Instead of diving into the soup, I should have taken the time to reheat it as lukewarm and grainy miso isn t the tastiest thing. At least the soup was flavourful and bits of fried dough were added in lieu of tofu - you won t get away from fried carbs at Kibo Sushi House! I was expecting the ebi siu mai ($6.95) to be a har gow shrimp filling in a siu mai wonton wrapper. Instead, the wrapper was filled with shrimp paste incorporating a lot of flour, so you re met with a mushy bite. I even pan fried them the next day to give it a crust and only marginally improved the starter.

Sushi always taste amazing here. Fair enough price. Convenient location. Wish the wait for takeout can be shorter and more organized. Other than that, everything is great. I visit this place very often.

Very, very slow. Kept delaying when it was going to be ready. I waited over an hour for it to be ready. They kept me waiting outside their door for over thirty minutes.

Best one around

Fresh sashimi, average value. I got the aburi sushi and 20 piece sashimi combo for $39. I ordered through their website for pickup at 6:30 and they finished packing the order literally the minute I stepped through their door, great timing. Everything tasted good, but the sashimi slices were small and the variety was a little lacking. My favourite is the aburi sushi, $10 for 6 pieces that tasted amazing. Next time I will definitely reorder the aburi sushi and try some of their specialty rolls, probably will skip the sashimi though.

This is our go to sushi all the time, mostly we order it in Uber or by phone . But today we decided to drop by and do take out. And its the worst.. I dont know if the unagi taste rotten or wasnt cook properly and the avocados are TURNING BROWN didnt see it until I reached home.. It just taste SOOO BAAD.. Some of their workers are not even wearing mask while preparing the food. This is during a COVID pandemic.. Reply to your response We are sure to what weve seen that one of your worker is Yes wearing a mask over his chin not covering his mouth and nose beside workers who are preparing foods.. And one lady who is putting the food in the bag is not wearing a mask at all..

The food is quite tasty with very fair prices! My family and I love their extensive vegetarian options. I ordered online and was pleasantly surprised my order was ready ahead of the designated pickup time. Highly recommend!

It used to be my favourite sushi place, was never disappointed before. Just picked up an order for beef teriyaki, and everything tasted horrible. The beef had a funky/spoiled smell and aftertaste, sushi was very bland and tasteless, they forgot to put chop sticks and napkins. The wasabi was mixed with something bland and incredibly tasteless. There was no usual soy sauce or tray for mixing wasabi. The whole thing felt like a setup against me, and Im not the picky/sensitive type. So I threw away the beef and rice. Next time I will have to do a test on a smaller order if I choose to go back there.

Ordered Kibo Sushi through Uber eats tonight. We ordered the Chirashi Donburi sashimi with rice and salad, rainbow dragon roll, and salmon with cream cheese roll. Everything was fresh, well-made, good portions, and presented attractively. It was an added bonus to receive neatly folded napkin packets with chopsticks and tiny trays to put the soy sauce in. (side note: no soup as I thought when reading with miso and salad but realized the word soup wasnt there) Extremely reasonable $1.99 UberEats fee. The slightly higher prices are justified by the quality.

Really tasty poke bowls here at kibo sushi house. Their sushi is pretty solid too, but the poke keeps us coming back. Delicious mix of flavours. They do white or brown rice or salad for their poke bowls. I gor for the brown ($1 extra), my wife prefers the white rice. Yum!

AMAZING! Prices are great, Id say relatively cheap for sushi. Probably the best sushi Ive ever had, including sushi almost twice its price. Im a real sushi fanatic and this place really surprised me. Staff are also really organized and very nice! I used to manage a fast food store and I really applaud them for being so efficient and organized.

One of the best sushis

I got take out from this restaurant (specifically Maki set C) and was BLOWN AWAY by how good their sushi tasted! Also, I loved the detail of putting all my utensils and soy sauce into the napkin (its the little things that matter). You can tell they care that you have a good experience whether youre dining in or taking out. Will be returning for sure!

We ordered Kibo sushi tonight to see whether the food would live up to the ratings. Colossal no. Miso soup powder was sprinkled all over the bag. I guess they try to dissolve their secret recipe powder during transit. The salad dressing was awful. The raw fish was so expired we had to throw it all out due to a foul odour. Every single thing we ordered. Cheap, yes. Edible, no. Youve been warned.

Best sushi take-out in the area! Perfect sized rolls, rice never mushy, fresh ingredients, friendly staff and very well-priced! Hidden gem indeed. Spicy scallop roll is my personal favourite. My fiancé and I go here at least once a week.

Response to Owner (Jan 17) I m sorry but that just sounds like a cop-out on your part. You make the food, but just allow it to go to waste after? No follow up on your end with Uber? Pretty fast and delicious

The tempura here is very good! The sauce they serve with it is not to salty or sweet. Roll and sashimi has always been consistent and fresh. They are very quick, we usually only wait 15 minutes for our order.

Sushi here is sooooo good I love it

The best affordable takeout sushi in Toronto. Everything is immaculately presented and tastes incredibly fresh. The fried Chicken Kara-age is an absolute must (one of the best I have ever had). The sushi rice is properly cooked, not too soft and not too vineagary. The maki rolls are perfectly constructed, with none of the toppings falling out when you pick up a piece with your chopsticks. A decent grade of fish - fresh and good quality. So thankful I stumbled across this lovely takeout/delivery establishment and highly recommend it. P.S. I also love their user friendly online ordering system for takeout/delivery - create an account before you place your order, and you can see in real time the status of your order - when it is being made and when it is ready.

Food is good, but note that this location only has take out. Also, in order to get the coupon ($30 get $10 off / $50 get $15 off), they force you to order online, even when you are right in the restaurant. Note that online are missing some of the daily special the store has.
